Scene #9730: Get Lady Bugged

Meresankh	After Gregory's sudden return from the dead, Meresankh gives Sarracenia a little space to process the events before approaching the princess again in the great hall of her family's castle. "Princess Sundew!" she calls, "There is a small matter yet untended. I have brought you a coronation gift. If you would join me in the courtyard?" Meresankh leads Sarracenia out again into the castle's courtyard, where a lone Necron warrior stands, holding in both hands a large jet-black box tied with a vibrant green ribbon. Instead of waiting for Sarra to open the present, Meresankh gestures at the soldier, who unties the ribbon with a mechanical deftness. The lid is lifted and the sides of the box fall away, revealing the gift within: A mechanical insect of the same size as one of Meresankh's scarab drones, but in the colors of the Sundew Kingdom - gold on its body, red on its head and legs, and red with large gold spots like a ladybug's on the wings. Also inside the box, underneath the construct, is a small golden circlet with a high-tech looking red glass eyepiece extending forward on what would be the wearer's left side. Meresankh looks almost giddy - she's literally bouncing up and down in her personal antigravity field. "Try it on, try it on!" She gestures to the eyepiece expectantly.
Sarracenia	Sarracenia has been keeping Gregory close, even holding his leaf-hand, ever since they returned to the castle. She is positively glowing with happiness and cheer, but definitely feeling a bit of separation anxiety as well. Whenever Gregory has to step away for something or someone tries to pull her away, the princess protests. When Meresankh pulls her away, it is no different. Sarra tries to bring Gregory with her, but he shakes his head. "This is a matter only for you, Princess. A gift from one monarch to another is special." Sarra blinks in surprise, then sighs softly and gives Gregory a hug before following Meresankh. Sarra is surprised to see the warrior outside. She follows after Meresankh curiously, and watches as the soldier unties the bow. As the gift is revealed, Sarra lets out an intrigued 'oooh' before she starts looking it over. "Oh my! How lovely!" she says of the bug before blinking in surprise at the circlet and eyepiece. Sarra giggles at Meresankh's excitement. "Alright alright!" she says cheerfully before putting it on. The eyepiece settles over the princess's one good eye (the right eye is the one with the eyepatch). Sarra hmms softly and looks around. "Okay! Now what?" she says excitedly.
Meresankh	"Okay! Now what?" "Oh, right!" Meresankh had forgotten that Sarracenia is not able to wirelessly connect her brain to nearby computers. "There's a button on the circlet, just over your ear." When Sarracenia presses the button the beetle's eyes light up - first in the bright green typical of Necron technology, then shifting to a softer golden yellow. The eyepiece flicks to life at the same time, showing the world through the bug's eyes as the robot glances left and right, then fixes its gaze on Sarra expectantly. "Give the drone a command!" Meresankh says excitedly. "You need only think it, the circlet maintains a secure brainwave link as long as it's powered on. Take it for a little flight! And worry not about specific directions and speeds, the onboard AI handles all of that for you." Indeed, at Sarra's mental command the little bug will soar into the sky, going wherever she wishes (at modest but respectable speed) and providing her a beetle's-eye view of her own castle and its surroundings.
Sarracenia	Sarra lets out a curious 'huh?' at the mention of the button, then reaches to find and press it, then another intrigued sound as the beetle lights up. The eyepiece coming to life draws a gasp from her, then her eye widens as she sees...herself! Through the drone's eyes apparently? "Oh my goodness!" she exclaims, blinking a few times. 'Give the drone a command!' Sarra looks toward Meresankh, then back toward the drone. "Um..." Her tongue sticks out the left side of her mouth lightly as she concentrates on thinking. And sort of fails anyway. "Fly up!" she ends up saying, and pointing in a direction, with the intention that the drone starts flying and heads off toward the podium still set up on the stage in the center of the garden. She watches it fly while watching through the eyepiece, then mmphs softly as she realizes she can't really see what is happening around her while using the eyepiece. "It is a bit...unfortunate that it covers my good eye." she says, then huffs. "If only..." she starts, then...an idea hits. She whirls toward Meresankh, and reaches out blindly while walking toward her until she manages to find her fellow monarch and ends up feeling over her face and head until she finds the queen's shoulders. "Could you...replace my blinded eye with something like this?! Or maybe even a functioning one with the capability to monitor the drone built in?!" she exclaims excitedly.
Meresankh	Meresankh is pleased by Sarracenia's initial reaction to the beetle-o-vision. Then Sarra, distracted by the beetle's view, fumbles her hand against Meresankh's face before finally locating a shoulder. "Yes, I- I'm right here, Princess, I haven't moved," says the Necron queen, mostly unhelpfully. "Could you...replace my blinded eye with something like this?! Or maybe even a functioning one with the capability to monitor the drone built in?!" "Oh," says Meresankh, who clearly hadn't thought of that. "An implant, you say? Yes, that would be possible, though installation would be a... most delicate procedure. I will need a clean working-space, surgical tools, and a bit of time. Your castle does have a medical facility, I hope? Or is all medicine mushroom-based, here in the Sundew Kingdom?"

Sarra frowns lightly at hearing this and reaches to pull the visor off. "Well...we have doctors, but nothing like the advanced surgical facilities one might see in many worlds. We are..." She sighs. "...quite primitive...compared to what is typically called a 'modern Earth'. Such facilities, as far as I am aware, do not really exist on this world. Potions and mushrooms are all we have typically needed, and...cybernetics, I believe it is called?...have certainly not been pioneered here. Does your kingdom contain such facilities?"
Meresankh	"Does your kingdom contain such facilities?" "Does my kingdom contain such facilities," Meresankh repeats, her tone a mix of "eager to say yes of course" and "playfully insulted that it was in question at all". "I would love to get you into the biological laboratory!" She wiggles her fingers with perhaps too much glee. "You wouldn't mind me taking some measurements while you're under, right?" She circles the princess, twisting this way and that as if already beginning her scientific examination. "I've been curious about the long-term affects of these '1-up' mushrooms. Is there a limit to how 'up' one can be? We may be able to find out together... Ooh! Would you like to be awake for the procedure?" Yikes. Meresankh is still an evil wizard, after all.
Sarracenia	It is a bit of a silly question after Sarra thinks on it further. Meresankh comes from a world of robots who used to be of flesh and bone like everyone else. Of course they know this stuff! The question of taking measurements is not an unusual one for the princess who loves fashion, but having those fingers waggling and that glee brings a bit of a creepy vibe to it. Sarra watches a little nervously as Meresankh circles her. "Oh! Scientific measurements!" Sarra relaxes. "I suppose that is fair. And you would be the first! No one from an advanced world has taken the time to study such things. Though...." 'Would you like to be awake for the procedure?' Sarra's gut reaction is to cringe lightly, but after she thinks about it a bit more. "...would there...be pain during the procedure? If not, or if it would be very little, then...I suppose I would like to be awake? One does not have one's eye replaced every day!"

She counts something on her fingers."Asleep it is, then!" Meresankh must consider that answer enough for Sarra's question. "Don't worry, there will be some calibrations and tests post-procedure, I'm certain of it. You'll have plenty of time to get acquainted with my devices." Pause. "Come! Let us away to my tomb-complex, and by tomorrow you shall have yourself a new eye!" She waves for Sarracenia to follow her as she confidently floats toward the castle gates. "And bring that beetle!"
Sarracenia	'Asleep it is, then!' Sarra is relieved in a way. It would have been quite freaky to see everything that was happening. She nods as she listens, then blinks in surprise. "N-now?!" She hesitates a moment, then puts the visor back on. "Come along, little one!" she says, and the beetle lifts off again and flies to her arms. She catches it, and she giggles as she holds it much like a plushie before she follows Meresankh. There is quite a bit of confusion within the castle when the princess declares she must depart with Queen Meresankh posthaste, but declares that the party should continue without her. She then joins Meresankh! Riding on someone else's airship for a change will be quite fun!
