| Riku Asakura | About a day and change later, the AIB calls for aid because it seems Zandrias has reemerged on the surface. This time it was in a hilly area around the outskirts of the main city; though not as forested, it still had plenty of trees. The AIB is more split up in this particular engagement because of how sudden Zandrias' surfacing was. Around this time, also, a cylinder-shaped object appears near the main road. It opens up to reveal an elevator-like room, with Riku stepping out from it. Those who knew about Nebula House would figure out it was one of its elevators, which allow it to reach the surface around the city and beyond. This puts Riku actually near Moa and Satoko, the latter of whom is trying to send more of those orange balls towards Zandrias. Riku, on the other hand, seems to be talking to someone, probably RE.M., and looks surprised to see Moa so close to the monster. "Does that mean Moa is with the AIB?" A voice answers him, robotic but feminine, "Probably. You should be careful about revealing your identity to her. The AIB does not trust Ultraman Geed." Right about this time, Zandrias becomes fed up with the orange balls being thrown in its direction and starts to go on a tantrum. It flaps its wings rapidly and creates a massive gust of wind that is aimed at Moa and Satoko. Riku, immediately ignoring RE.M.'s warning, runs for the two and jumps into the gust of wind. Despite the chaotic nature of being trapped inside a kaiju-shaped gust of wind, she manages to see Riku and gasps in surprise at his being in the dangerous attack too. This is only second to him pulling out the Fusion Riser. ULTRAMAN ULTRAMAN BELIAL ULTRAMAN GEED PRIMITIVE A brilliant light overtakes Riku, transforming him into Ultraman Geed to the shock of Moa, who didn't know he was actually Ultraman Geed. However, the previous conversations with the other elites make sense. However, during this brilliant light, Ultraman Geed manages to grab both Moa and Satoko in his giant hands. Landing on the ground, Geed carefully sets the two women down and turns towards Zandrias. He turns his head slightly to check on the two, but his eyes are mostly on Moa's safety. Moa manages to recover and nod to Geed that she's alright. Unlike the rest of you, Geed does not know that Zandrias is a child. All he knows is that someone important to him and another civilian are dangerously close to a kaiju. He starts by running at the monster, but stops when Zandrias covers his head with his arms and shrinks down. This throws Geed off, who isn't used to monsters cowering in fear from him. Zandrias, however, seems to take this differently. Throwing a bunch of dirt at Geed. This hits Geed but doesn't do anything to the Ultraman. Instead, it more confuses him, as he tries to figure out what the kaiju is doing. |
| Sarracenia | Sarra is a bit nervous about returning so soon after the last conversation. Did Moa believe her? Is she still public enemy number one? The princess is just going to assume yes because she rarely assumes something is going to go well for her. The princess arrives in her personal wooden aircraft instead of bringing the Sovereign. If this is the same Zandrias then she still doesn't want to spook it. Plus, it is kind of cute in a weird way. The Dyna is just flying in overhead when that metal cylinder appears, and is just trying to land when that kaiju-fueled gust of wind picks up. It is blown away, and though Sarra manages to pilot the Dyna out of the tumble and out of the gust she isn't able to catch Riku before he transforms. Seeing Geed charging at the Zendrias, Sarra punches the throttle and a megaphone pops out of the front of the Dyna. "Noooo! Do not hurt it! It is just a baby!" she calls out as she comes to a hover between Geed and Zendrias. "We think it might have gotten lost or even crash landed here and may not be able to fly back to its pod!" Sarra lets out a breath of relief when Geed just looks at it after the dirt toss. "I am a bit concerned about what might happen if its parents show up. We should really try and help it back into space." She floats closer to Geed and tries to whisper through the megaphone. "...and you should really talk to a certain someone about her job and yours..." she says, then in a more normal volume. "Satoko - that's the other girl - has been trying to contact it telepathically, but she needs one of those orbs to touch it and apparently needs to be decently close to do it." Although the Dyna would be quite useful for getting Satoko close to Zandrias, Sarra seems like she does not intend to move until Geed backs down. The Zandrias knocking her out of the sky is also a possibility, but she hasn't considered that one. |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel is here, this time! It would have been *great* if he'd been here last time. His car, laden with all kinds of spinning dishes and antennae and other suchlike, has been blown over by a huge wind. "Ack! Geed!!" He calls out by impulse. And there he is, the minute he's called for. Before, even! But, as he crawls out the side of his van to stand on top of it, he wonders, "Wait, is he supposed to be..." He shakes his head. "What a mess." Alright, focus. "You know," He calls out. "Wish I could work with more telepaths. I'm always working with *anti*-telepaths, so this is refreshing. I gotta make sure I run coordination with Geed..." He plants his fingers on his temples. <Geed! Hey! Flamel Parsons, agent of a vague yet ominous organization!! Help me dunk some of that orange on this, I heard they're really just very confused and they need help understanding how to get home!> Looks like they've been monitoring the orange orbs of telepathic payload... <Not sure I have jurisdiction to be making this kind of contact myself, but someone who *does* have it is trying!> And what about his fellow telepath? That'll surely reach them. For now, Flamel focuses on coordination, trying to liason a little between the AIB and Geed, and seeing if he can swing some telekinetic hands around to get those orange telepath-orbs where they need to go! Of course, none of what he says is a lie. He studied up and he's working on avoiding cultural faux-pas with any other telepaths. |
| Petra Soroka | LAST TIME, ON ULTRAMAN GEED . . . Zandrias burrowing underground is a little worrying, but that's not what's on Petra's mind when she answers the AIB's call the next day. Having just come from her summer literature course at college, and then placed in digital proximity to Oreshnika, she's rehashing the things Satoko said yesterday in philosophical debate like she and Nika are the scholars of Athens. The Eggpack is still on, her outfit isn't meaningfully different in aesthetic despite every individual article being switched, and she's trotting into the forest with the AIB in just as good a mood as she was. "Okay, like-- so I can't stop thinking about how specifically, um, she said that the literature on Zobetai *sucks*. That was the word, 'sucks'. And to some degree, we can, you know, assign some amount of Earth-naturalization to her perspective on literature in a way that can't be universalized to all of Zobetai, but not *that* much." "I think there's something to say there about, um, the relationship between the difficulty posed by a skill, and the artistic merit of it. 'Emotional'-- um-- er, what's the-- ¶implored response/emotional valence/just for the sake of it¶ isn't a skill they've got practiced culturally, but the *recognition* of the art of it is still totally individually present! I've always kind of been a strong believer in the idea that reflecting on your own words and the impact they have narratively and interpersonally *also* means improving your own feelings as a person, but it's kind of really neat to have a specific case study in--" The Zandrias's more violent tantrum distracts her from the conversation, and then the attack towards Moa and Satoko comes too quickly for her to reach for a weapon to combat it. Not knowing Riku's relationship with the AIB for sure, but being pretty capable of guessing, his sudden appearance is actually more exciting than it is worrying for her, though surprising nonetheless. Covering her eyes from the flash of the Ultraman transformation and the dirt kicked up by the wind, Petra fumbles at her hip until she draws the transteam gun and thrusts it upwards, spewing out a pillar of dark-glittery smoke that envelops her as she brings the gun down. SILVER! MIST MATCH! ST-ST-STING SILVER! When the smoke from the sudden burst of fireworks disappears, the Eggpack has been partly merged into the mechanical suit of Sting Silver, by gleaming metal cables and wires that run into and through it. The result is a bulkier set of armor that fits with the black panels and grey accents of the original, with a screen on the back and a second set of robot arms controlled by the Eggpack. Petra, voice slightly distorted by the helmet, looks at the back of her hand and the back of the Eggpack's hand, observing the armor. "... So that's why I never get powerups like Xion or Sougo do...." With a thrust-assisted doublejump, Sting Silver clears the canopy of the forest and leaps between treetops to keep up with the two giants fighting above her. She shouts up at Riku, circling as close as she dares without getting caught underfoot. "Hey!! Geed! This is some fucking Mothra shit! All we need to do is hold him down so we can get into his head and figure out what's wrong!" |
| Angela | Angela is appreciative for the chance to 'reset' the Petrameter, but she's broadly not here to investigate kaiju in general, she's here to get a feel for Riku's world ultimately so she can have some closure on this whole Belial is Super Evil now fiasco. Frankly, Angela is inclined to believe that everybody is wrong about him or at least misleading her about him to some extent because being hated by the world and Realm of Light hits a bit close to home. Once again she came alone, aside from with Petra. It's also a little difficult for her to think about literature while there's a giant monster throwing dirt around but she says, "I feel literature can be fun for its own sake, not everything needs to be laden with meaning, metaphor, and emotional resonance. Though, ideally, there will be some sort of core beyond literary junk food. It is difficult for me to imagine a culture without any proper dedication to the arts--even if it is not culturally recognized, I feel there is some inherent pull towards artistic expression even in spite of the culture surrounding it." Angela's following of the Sting Silver is considerably slower than the Sting Silver itself, but she does follow after it--seemingly unconcerned by the size difference between mecha and kaiju and herself. Maybe she has decided to just draw a page from this thing after all. Though she'll have to get closer to do that. |
| Lilian Rook | Lilian feels nothing at all about returning so soon after last time. Wait. No. She does. She does feel something about it. She's kind of annoyed. Like 'Seriously? The day after?' "--need to be ready for screening and evaluation in two hours, which I have to be there fifteen minutes early for, and I've been at Tridéag all god damned day, so I am not going there without a long shower, which means getting home at least forty-five minutes before that, plus I was going to use this time to switch the test sets over at Laplace, so now I have to run there, which is ten minutes of work if I cut it down to the essentials and fifteen minutes dealing with check-in, and the Warpgate is Commonwealth regulated so I get to roll the dice on the wait there, so this better wrap up quickly or--" Best to just let her get it out of her system. 'Okay, like-- so I can't stop thinking about how specifically, um, she said that the literature on Zobetai *sucks*. That was the word, 'sucks'.' "Yeah okay I did notice and I get what you mean, but you gotta remember that there's ¶Earthlings¶ who think all the writing ¶on Earth/as a rule¶ sucks too so I'm not gonna put like completely total trust on it y'know?" Nika tagging along a second time is more than slightly absurd. She didn't do anything the first time. She questioned how professionally ethical this was the first time. But she wants closure about the scared baby kaiju (according, arbitrarily, to Lilian, which has been accepted by everyone (which makes perfect sense to Nika)) and Petra hardly needs nagging to include her on the Eggpack. 'I think there's something to say there about, um, the relationship between the difficulty posed by a skill, and the artistic merit of it.' "Well sure, but there's also like, ¶one minute mile/hold my beer/draw a perfect circle¶ difficulty and there's ¶hitless/nopercent/world record time/randomizer¶ difficulty right? Which if you're sticking with 'difficulty' is like hard because of ¶axes and degrees of freedom/moment to moment choice¶ and not hard because of like ¶humans just weren't built for this¶? Which is kinda important because making someone understand totally exactly what you mean is the second case and that's why it's just kinda 'impressive' not 'artistic', but going for, um, ¶abstract/imaginary/anthrocentric¶ qualities like themes and resonance and symbolism and stuff is the first case 'cause it's based on ¶cleverness¶ I guess in that you can't ¶combinatorial brute force/just 'click'¶ about it." 'I've always kind of been a strong believer in the idea that reflecting on your own words and the impact they have narratively and interpersonally *also* means improving your own feelings as a person' "Right so basically I totally agree but just 'reflecting' is kinda useless unless it's also got ¶play¶ to it. Like I'm sure Zobetai has people who can reflect but nobody who ¶invents literature/plays in the grass¶ because otherwise that's ¶our classical epics/their primitive myths¶, so I'd say that ¶precision/success¶ at communicating doesn't really help or hurt ¶improving¶ necessarily but like not ¶reading the rules/labbing out strats/watching the vods¶ makes people kinda emotionally ¶shallow/hungry/small¶ and you can already see that on Earth with ¶comfort media/the entertainment stratum/capital regurgitation¶. Like-- Wauh!" |
| Lilian Rook | '... So that's why I never get powerups like Xion or Sougo do....' "You didn't do that on purpose?!" Lilian should probably feel a way about Riku all but outing himself like this, but the circumstances are sufficiently chivalrous that her worry isn't higher than the sudden, heart-gripping worry that he's going to run up and spin-kick a baby in the head. Fortunately, she doesn't need to hurriedly explain anything, because Sarracenia already-- Hm. "Hey! Listen to Sundew this one time!" Lilian yells, about her own theory, coming from the woman she always tells everyone not to listen to. "All it did was run away last time! Don't be a dick!" What does that mean? Hold it still? Ordinarily, Lilian would consider that Gentle Mode for Elite operations, but thoughts of a nurse wrestling an eight year old into a chair upset her so much straight away that she gives up on it completely. Instead, she marches up to where Satoko has been deposited, says "If we're all meant to be relying on your specific ability according to government regulations, then we're not faffing about with this anymore. You're coming with me." She says it a lot more forcefully than she acts on it. Lilian waits a second and a half, then puts one hand on Satoko's back, checks her basic stability, then lifts by the back on the knees, adjusts so she isn't being grabbed or clung to anywhere annoying, and appears a hundred meters away from the kaiju at most; nominally well outside of tail slap range, and not much better. "If you can't do it from here, I'm taking you all the way up." Lilian says, without explaining, to an alien she has just bridal carried here somehow. |
| Riku Asakura | 'It is just a baby!' Geed stops before another rush; the Dyna interposes itself between both of them. Sarracenia explains the situation to Geed, who's caught in the unenviable position of having to deal with a kaiju child. He rubs the sides of his head in frustration because it was the shitty child episode. It just so happens the shitty child is a giant kaiju. To Geed's surprise, Lilian comes out on the side of Sarracenia here. Once he hears all it was doing was running away, Geed nods once to her and to Sarracenia. Alright, it's a child... this should be handled very gently. '...and you should really talk to a certain someone about her job and yours...' This gets a look of confusion from Ultraman Geed, who does not understand what she's talking about immediately. Though he does look back down towards Moa and then sighs. "Not really the time, Princess..." he says, less frustrated. Both Sarracenia and Flamel explain the importance of the orbs, which seem to be annoying to Zandrias. In fact, he can hear Flamel in his head. He tilts his head at the 'jurisdiction' part, wondering when that has seemed to stop Flamel before, but decides now's not the time. Satoko, on the other hand, looks at Flamel, naturally seemingly able to communicate with the other telepath. "You're... not human?" she asks aloud, unsure. BUT with Flamel's assistance, the balls DO get closer to Zandrias. The problem is that he's now too energetic. Satoko turns towards Lilian once she arrives. "Uh... okay, I can come with you, same plan as before, I guess?" She asks. Lilian's hold on her catches her off guard. She's MORE disoriented when they appear a hundred or so meters from Zandrias. "Yes, this is a lot better!" |
| Riku Asakura | 'All we need to do is hold him down so we can get into his head and figure out what's wrong!' Geed turns to see Petra in her silver armor. "Hold it down? That might be harder than it looks, especially if we're not trying to hurt it...but..." he says, already forming a plan. FUSION RISE ULTRAMAN HIKARI ULTRAMAN COSMOS ULTRAMAN GEED ARCO SMASHER Geed is enveloped in light again, before his scheme changes into that of Arco Smasher. Blue with a silver lining instead of the red of Primitive. Of course, the standard shift that comes with this form too. Drawing on the redirective and non-lethal style of martial arts, the two Ultramen that make this form together cause Geed to move carefully, gently even. Of course, the first thing Geed tries to do with the move is use... "SMASH MOON HEALING!" attempting to calm the monster down and, of course, remove any influence on it. This... of course, does not work. The monster isn't enraged or under anyone's influence. This confuses Geed a little. So the little big kaiju pounces on Geed. It knocks him down and bounces on his chest like a little kid might knock down and jump on an adult. It looks like it hurts a bit, because the kaiju is still a kaiju and thus very heavy! Despite Geed's pain, Satoko fires off her orbs into the kaiju. This time, they land. This lets her actually read the mind of the Zandrias. "I can't go back into space... I'm lonely. So lonely." She starts getting the feelings from him. "Oh, it's a boy!" |
| Angela | It's just a baby? Hm. Angela considers the ethics of getting a kaiju back into space. She thinks she has the tools to send the kaiju to space, but 'space' is pretty broad. She needs information on the exact destination. "If he wishes to go home." Angela says. "I might be able to send him there quickly. But I will need some time and information." She might have to use Audrey's page in conjunction with it but-- she does have some empathy for a creature wishing to return home. Not as much as someone wanting to leave one, but if Lilian is saying to listen to Sarracenia that means she probably should and accept the kaiju is a child. She reaches out with her hand and draws light into a page, glancing down at what she finds when she examines it. "Or perhaps...nevermind? Apparently anywhere in space would do it. There is no 'home planet', ''space'' is acceptable to him. So ... taking him anywhere in space ought to placate him. Sending 'anywhere' in space ought to be doable." And she wouldn't even call it a waste of a page but with Petra and others present, is it really it's best use? "But it would still take me some time to properly create a transit portal." She looks to the Beauty of Ash. "May I ask you for assistance with that?" Angela reaches down to her book, flitting through it for a moment to find precisely what she's looking for. Of course, there's another issue in that if she gets stomped on she won't be able to do much of anything. She's not quite as durable as she used to be. |
| Flamel Parsons | <Geed!> Flamel brain-shouts as the monster slams onto him. <That's a child! If you want to be a good counselor, it's important that you understand how this is supposed to work! Adults have to let children hurt them a little, to keep the child safe, and how good you are with children only counts as far as how good you are with *bad* children!> Awww. How sweet of him! <Being a child is *like* being psychically influenced by a malevalent super-being, because a child is an incomplete person, but it's also an incurable condition!> Hm. That one wasn't sweet. <Ah-- hang on. I have someone on my other line.> --- The Director sets the phone receiver aside a moment, clicking a button on the bakelite body of the desk phone to switch lines, before bringing the phone back up. --- <Ah-- Hey there. Common misconception! I'm made *of* humans, so by volume I'm human. I'm just not a *person*. Or, well-- It's complicated. Humans wove me out of humans, we don't need to get into the weeds. You said it's a boy? Ahh-- Any chance you can convey some options for getting into space? A lot of us are good at that! I have some memory packets.> --- The Director signals for some help, thumbing through dossiers of the allies nearby for records related to this. Ah! Lovely. He actually has an *extremely* high-detail file of how Lilian Rook can get someone sent into space. He hands the thick file off to one of his clerks, directing them to rush to fax it over. He carefully picks out the parts that would upset a child, as this is a fragmentary set of memories from when Persephone performed the only act of real revenge she's ever performed by throwing him onto the moon for what he did to Lilian. --- <I've filtered all the trauma out, but this one should be a pretty absolute truth.> Flamel thinks, trying to get that data over to his colleague. <I've got a ton of high-def memory correlating Lilian with going to space!> |
| Lilian Rook | 'Yes, this is a lot better!' Some disorientation is normal. Having all of your surroundings change without any of the windup or feedback of a teleportation animation is kind of a lot. "Good to hear." says Lilian, extremely casual about being within optimal generic ranged attack distance for someone who just showed up in a getup half a step away from officewear. "If I touch a giant space monster right before showing up I'm going to have to deal with a decontamination shower, and just-- not today." 'SMASH MOON-- "What did I just tell you?!" '--HEALING!' "Oh. Right." Lilian adjusts her hold on today's Plot Woman. "Why name them things like that? Christ's sake." Her annoyance at this entire episode right now makes Geed getting tackled and jumped on like someone's bed at an unruly sleepover makes her crack up laughing. Without the free hands to cover it up, she has to turn her head and laugh-cough it out in another direction while Satoko works. 'I can't go back into space... I'm lonely. So lonely.' "Hah! Knew it!" Lilian puffs out her chest. "Leave it to a professional~" goes to "Alright, I'll take you back to the road." 'Oh, it's a boy!' "What?" Lilian suddenly finds something so perplexing about this that she stops midway through turning around. "How do you find that out by reading minds? Or-- No I mean, did you get a name or something? What does being lonely have to do with-- . . . ?" Nope. Nothing coming to mind. Trying to envision this is weirding her out. 'Sending 'anywhere' in space ought to be doable.' "Um. Angela?" Lilian laughs nervously. "Anywhere in space . . . Near Earth, right?" 'Being a child is *like* being psychically influenced by a malevalent super-being' "Oh my god you are so catty! I swear!" 'I've got a ton of high-def memory correlating Lilian with going to space!' Lilian raises her voice to the point that it's unpleasant for Satoko to still be getting carried. "FUCK OFF PARSONS!" |
| Sarracenia | 'Hey! Listen to Sundew this one time!' Sarra is caught between Lilian saying to listen to her and Lilian saying 'this one time'. Geed seeming to take Lilian's word over Sarra's burns a bit, but Sarra tries to focus on the small victory of being listened to at all. 'Not really the time, Princess...' "No no, of course not. Just...letting you know." Sarra replies to Geed. "But, after this kaiju child is properly cared for." 'Smash Moon Healing!' 'Geed does not hurt Kaiju. Kaiju pounces and bounces on Geed.' "That is a terrible name for a -healing- spell!" Sarra shouts almost at the same time as Lilian, then mmphs softly in annoyance. They really can't make a habit of agreeing on things. People will think the Multiverse is ending. Sarra eeps as the Dyna is knocked aside by the pouncing kaiju, then winces as she sees Geed getting jumped on. At least this isn't Mario and Geed isn't a goomba! He would be done for if it was! "Ah! Stop that, little one! Ultraman Geed is not a bouncy castle!" she calls out over the megaphone, as if it can understand her. She flies down and tries to distract it as she listens to Satoko, then huffs. "As I suspected. It cannot fly on its own, whether because it is injured or simply too small." Sarra has the solution to that problem, of course. She sets the Dyna in hover, then moves to open the side door. "Well then, let us try this." she says as she pulls out a feather power-up and a cloud power-up. She hops on the cloud, then flies over to the baby. "If he is having trouble flying, then..." She is about to press the feather to the Zandrias when...she actually hears the little voice in her head that says 'wait is this a good idea?'. She pauses a moment, considers, then huffs. "No, he is supposed to fly. How could it be troublesome if he can do something he is supposed to..." Flashes of Gregory go through Sarra's mind, and Sarra slowly backs away and stuffs the feather back into her purse. Or at least, starts to. But, one of the jumps sends a gust of wind at her, and she flails as she nearly loses her balance on her cloud...and the feather power-up floats right toward the Zandrias. "...ehehe...it will be fine, surely..." Sarra murmurs as she peeks over the edge of her cloud. |
| Petra Soroka | "Yeah okay I did notice and I get what you mean, but you gotta remember that there's ¶Earthlings¶ who think all the writing ¶on Earth/as a rule¶ sucks too so I'm not gonna put like completely total trust on it y'know?" "Oh but that's usually anti-intellectualism? Well, I guess it's possible for that to be ¶oversaturation/water to a fish/too cool for all that¶ but I'm at least a little inclined to believe her as someone who's partly obsessed with Earth *because of the ¶emotional dynamo/art of wordplay¶, that at least there's some measurable difference. Oh, but wouldn't it be *so* cool to go and *check*? Should I ask her about that?" The thrum of conversation around the trio-quartet (if counting Nika separately) of girls could pretty much sustain itself forever. Petra and Nika can back and forth endlessly, every complaint Lilian makes is met with enthusiastically supportive noises from Petra, and with the topic being literature, Angela has her own two cents to add. Of course, it becomes more difficult when Petra suits up, but... there's a lot of walking in the forest before then! "I feel literature can be fun for its own sake, not everything needs to be laden with meaning, metaphor, and emotional resonance." "Is that true? I can't think of anything that doesn't have meaning, metaphor, or emotional resonance that's still, art. Or even 'fun'. Really, something I'm kinda curious about is, she mentioned Zobetai *history* records, and I'm kind of interested to see what a culture that doesn't seem to put stock into personal perspective or interpretation in writing or expression would have as historical records. On Earth, it's unavoidable for historical records to say just as much about the person who wrote them, and I can't *really* imagine that being totally different on Zobetai, but it might be ¶unconsidered/leaky/fingerpainting¶?" "You didn't do that on purpose?!" "No! Isn't that cool?" Petra lifts up her arms to touch the palms of the other set of armored hands, marveling at how not very much actually changed, but it still feels much more like having 'four arms' than wearing the Eggpack usually does. "Kamen Rider transformation stuff always offloads ¶processing power/design decisions¶ and, uh, the Silver even moreso whenever I'm not paying attention." "Hold it down?" Sting Silver comes to a stop perched on top of high tree branches, and she's about to concoct some sort of plan with Geed to help painlessly hold the kaiju down, but Geed's caught first. When the Zandrias pounces on him and starts pummeling him like an angry toddler, Petra holds a gloved hand up to her mouth and snickers. "Well, the reverse works great too, actually! Good going, Geed!" |
| Petra Soroka | "I can't go back into space... I'm lonely. So lonely." Petra is capable of feeling empathy towards children faster than anyone else! Of course, this is a toddler, and the baggage of space is so different, but she has little trigger words that automatically change her opinions whenever she hears them regardless. "Hah! Knew it!" "That's 'cause you're always right. I figure this is probably a physical problem? Like a baby turtle, type thing. He can't get the altitude necessary to break Earth's gravity because he's too young." "How do you find that out by reading minds?" "Blue thought bubbles," Petra burbles, while trying to come up with a plan. The steady drip of Silver off the channels in her armor slowly coalesces into cords of chainlinks, draping down off the tree branch and shaking with the movements of the giants fighting each other. "If he's too young, we wouldn't want to make him fly under his own power, or else he'd probably fall back on Earth. And a portal might just leave him stranded somewhere else without any way to navigate around in space. So-- Geed, could we take some cords and lift him up, with the help of Sundew's balloons, launching him up to a portal that'll put him out by the moon or something so he's a good distance away?" "... I wonder if his mom's out there looking, or something. Satoko, can you tell?" |
| Riku Asakura | 'If he wishes to go home.' "Argh..." Geed starts, "Maybe he has someone near he wants to be with? A family?" Geed starts to guess. He's also being crushed under a child right now, so who knows if it's something he can wait for. 'Adults have to let children hurt them a little' Geed, right now, is letting the child hurt him a lot. He'll probably be just fine, but it feels less fine in the moment. Pulling himself up and trying to control the destructive bouncing of the child takes a lot of effort. Instead of attacking, he aims to pat it gently, trying to get it to calm down with gentle actions and soothing words. "Hey, I understand what it feels like to not have a home. Come on now, let's settle down, and we can figure out how to get you back..." he tries being gentle because it's how he knows what works with children. 'I'm made *of* humans, so by volume I'm human.' Satoko doesn't quite understand what that means at first. <Made... of humans? Uh... as for conveying things to it, this technique only lets me read him; I don't think I can think a way back to him... but let me read some more of him. I think he's just stuck here because he's young?> 'Why name them things like that?' 'That is a terrible name for a -healing- spell!' "Oh, because it's cool! And like, water is the theme for this form. Water smashes into people, right? Like at the ocean!" It seems Geed is ever the giant toku nerd. He also looks towards Sarracenia, "You didn't think it was a badly named attack when it saved you from the Darkmancer!" |
| Riku Asakura | '...and the feather power-up floats right toward the Zandrias.' The feather touches Zandrias. It doesn't DO a whole lot because he can already fly. Can he now fly twice? Probably better? Just not enough to break Earth's gravity. 'So-- Geed, could we take some cords and lift him up...' "I can break Earth's gravity, so I think with some help we could get him out there. I'd just need a way back because I don't think I could fly to the moon and back. Probably..." he isn't sure; Geed hasn't tried before. 'How do you find that out by reading minds?' 'Satoko, can you tell?' "There is more; it's coming in a little slowly because the mind is a little less what I'm used to... but..." Satoko pauses, "There's a girl who's my childhood friend. Lately she's been kind of cold. When I think she might not like me... I can't go back...?" She reads the last part like she doesn't quite understand it. "It seems like such a stupid reason..." "So it's...heartbroken?" Geed says, still trying to calm the guy down. But... well, Geed isn't good at romance in the slightest, if anyone had been paying attention to how much Moa likes him, and how little Riku seems to actually notice. |
| Lilian Rook | 'On Earth, it's unavoidable for historical records to say just as much about the person who wrote them, and I can't *really* imagine that being totally different on Zobetai, but it might be ¶unconsidered/leaky/fingerpainting¶?' Nika, in the speaker behind Petra's head, goes "Bleuh." and then explains as a mere afterthought, "That's kinda the one thing I hate being written like that because history isn't a ¶subject/monad¶ it's a whole ton of things and you can't get anything out of it unless people write about ¶lived experience/moment in history/human reality¶ instead of just dates and stuff but then everyone writing different things about stuff that's already over so you kinda can't ¶check their math¶ makes it feel kinda confusing and upsetting and I start getting what Lilian means about ¶Brownian Motion¶ so I put it down and just ask Sakura instead." 'No! Isn't that cool?' "Yeah!" 'Kamen Rider transformation stuff always offloads ¶processing power/design decisions¶ and, uh, the Silver even moreso whenever I'm not paying attention.' "You gotta lemme look! Bladecraft did that kinda stuff all the time and I can't code so I gotta ¶Game Master¶ instead so you gotta let me seee!" The Eggpack-- well, the suit's new arms do eager grippy grabby motions, menacingly in the direction of Petra, to whom they are attached. "If I eject it now does it ¶crash/crash¶?" They're going for the belt!! 'Well, the reverse works great too, actually! Good going, Geed!' "Yeah! ¶Great job/Hang in there/Attaboy¶!" Now the arms are safely used for waving at him. 'That's 'cause you're always right. I figure this is probably a physical problem?' "Well that's going to be a bit of an issue, because I left the spaceship with Arthur." 'Blue thought bubbles,' Lilian shudders. This is non-obvious to everyone except Satoko. "God. Don't even. Could you imagine?" '... I wonder if his mom's out there looking, or something. Satoko, can you tell?' Well . . . Lilian is really going to hope that passing space bounty hunters didn't do a Bambi here or something. 'Oh, because it's cool! And like, water is the theme for this form. Water smashes into people, right? Like at the ocean!' Lilian groans. "You actually came up with it yourself?!" That out of the way, Lilian takes a deep breath, calms herself, and holds her position while Satoko keeps working. She waits only until the next wave of orange bubbles reach the kaiju before dropping her off much further out of harms way again. She doesn't intend to have Riku keep getting wrecked like that forever so-- 'There's a girl who's my childhood friend. Lately she's been kind of cold. When I think she might not like me... I can't go back...?' "What?!" "--?! Hahahahaha! Haaaahahaaaaa!!!!" |
| Angela | Angela honestly isn't all that confused by Smash Moon Healing. It feels like something Love would do and since Ultraman and the Magical Girl of Love both shout things like that and also get big sometimes, she has to assume that Riku is sort of in between a magical girl and a Kamen Rider. It makes sense to her like that. She's glad that the gap has been bridged Though the temptation to just steal his power so she can just also get big and not be forced into this situation while not big is pretty strong. But she's feeling a little stubborn to give in to the mecha and/or big dichotomy. If she wants to get big, she'll do it her own way. Everybody else has. So it's only fair.. She doesn't need to read Sarracenia's mind to imagine she's pouting at the 'this one time' so she is already mentally preparing a retort that will surely make Sarracenia pout even more and she's a little excited to use it so she is hoping Sarracenia does trigger her trap card so she can properly get her goat. She's only metaphorically crossing her fingers here but she's ready. ''Um, Angela? Anywhere in space . . . near Earth, right?'' "I haven't used the page before," Angela admits to Lilian. "Once it's equipped I'll have an easier time knowing, but I can't imagine my ability borrowing from Arthur will be as skillful as he has with multiple eternities under his belt." She probably was just being a little optimistic in her language. She pulls a page out from her book and summons a broom into her hand. "Alright, the PAGE is equipped and I can make use of the BROOM in order to summon the PORTAL." Angela frowns and shakes her head, "My apologies, I can do my part in the plan you've suggested, Petra." Teamwork makes the dream work after all and as someone who sees herself on Petra's team, a victory in planning from Petra is a victory for her as well. As Angela creates a few practice mini-portals with the broom, she answers Petra on an earlier topic, "Well, I wouldn't call it art if it doesn't have any of that, but that doesn't mean it can't be an enjoyable read. Like 'popcorn', as they call it. But I would be fascinated to see if such a history is possible. It is possible that instead of an individualistic expression of history it would be a pluralistic expression from a connected sub-group within their society." She taps her cheek with her index finger, "Or I may shrimply be unable to imagine an interconnected society of that level. Maybe Dimo would be the best to speculate?" She sweeps around with the broom in a wide arc, aiming to summon a portal that's large enough to fit the kaiju through. There is, at least, a glimpse of stars through the portal were one to look through it so it must at least be escaping earth atmosphere but due to her positioning, she's expecting Sarracenia to bring it up there one way or another. Or someone else. She's not really picky. She wonders, for a moment, what it's like to return home. ''Oh, because it's cool!'' " Magical girl..." Angela nods her head to herself knowingly. ''A girl who's my childhood friend.'' "I thought you said he was a baby." Angela frowns. "Do we have to give the 'baby' advice on how to treat girls first??" |
| Petra Soroka | Petra spools out more and more Silver chains from her supply after Geed confirms the tactic. The stream of morphmetal condenses and contorts into big metal links in her palm, in the same motion that she tosses them out in Geed's direction. With the length of it spilling out behind her, Sting Silver leaps across the site of the Zandrias and Geed's wrestling, so that there's loops caught around the kaiju's legs, wings, and big clawed hands. Telekinetically, they snake into place where they won't overly pinch its silly leathery/scaley body, and then she hurls the other end at Geed to hold so he can lift it up like a basket. "You didn't think it was a badly named attack when it saved you from the Darkmancer!" Sting Silver points accusingly at Geed, levitating briefly over a pulse of energy from the boots of her suit. "You can't go holding that over people's heads like that! That's evil to do! Also, like, wouldn't *Tidal* Moon Healing convey it better? The water *and* the healing, and the relationship with the moon? Boys are always throwing *smash* or *explosion* or *ultra* into their callouts." Petra might only interact with Kamen Riders in reality, but Love has gotten her into watching magical girl anime, so she's got opinions now. "You wouldn't even *consider* 'Sparkle' Moon Healing! Even though water sparkles more than it smashes!" "I'd just need a way back because I don't think I could fly to the moon and back. Probably..." "And use firmer language when you're out here a million feet tall in front of the AIB! God!" The Silver rattles around the Zandrias, in a feeble attempt to telekinetically assist Geed in lifting him up off the ground. This is totally ineffectual, and way beyond Sting Silver's direct or indirect physical capabilities. So... probably Sarracenia will have to help, power-ups wise. "If I eject it now does it ¶crash/crash¶?" "Wait, wait! I don't know!" The transformation gun stays a gun after transforming! Which makes it so easy to grab, being in Petra's hands instead of around her waist! She tries to hold it out of reach, scrambling to protect it from the arms that are *also* attached to her, which results in Sting Silver's careful tree-hopping propulsor jumps failing, and crashing facefirst into the dirt. There's no shower of sparks, so you know she's not really hurt. "Ah--well if you take the Silver bottle out, then I get desuited! Actually, you can probably just tell the Silver to do stuff just as well as I can...? Can you make it give me upgrades?" |
| Petra Soroka | "Lately she's been kind of cold. When I think she might not like me... I can't go back...?" Temporarily caught in a comic scenario instead of a drama scenario, this revelation from Satoko-- who she's now right nearby, having plunged to the forest floor-- hits Petra in the chest so hard that she reels backwards again, cough-laughing and distorting through the helmet. "Oh, god, so he's a *teenager*? He's a hormonal sulking teenager? There's no *way*, he was all, crying and jumping on Geed and--" The possibility that the Zandrias isn't a teenager, and is actually just a very young child, registers late. If this isn't romantic at all, it suddenly becomes much more heartwrenching, and far too close to Petra for comfort, as 'space' primes her to compare in the first place. 'Home' is somewhere that's found in the heart of one girl you've known long enough, this is just factually true to Petra, and the fact that this is a fifty foot tall monster baby doesn't inherently change that. Grimacing, Petra pushes herself back up to her feet and looks towards Satoko nearby Lilian. "... Okay, I know we're talking about a big monster here, but if you can psychically sense gender, can you tell his age too? Is this a baby or is this a whole ass teenager jumping up and down and wailing at us?" |
| Sarracenia | 'You didn't think it was a badly named attack when it saved you from the Darkmancer!' 'You can't go holding that over people's heads like that! That's evil to do!' Sarra blinks, blushes, then huffs and her cheeks puff a bit. "...I did, but...I was not about to criticize it at the time. And water can just wash over or cleanse people, you know! Besides all of that, what does the moon have to do with water? If you really want the moon in there though, maybe you could call it-" Sarra is interrupted by Petra...defending her? Sarra gets a bit of a confused, swirling eye expression. First Lilian saying to listen to her, and now Petra defending her. And Petra comes up with a good name for the attack. Better than the one Sarra was thinking. The princess is dumbstruck for a few moments. Sarra watches worriedly as the feather touches Zandrias. And...nothing happens? "...huh?" Sarra figured he just couldn't fly and that's why he hadn't left. He didn't fly last time either, after all. But, according to Satoko, he is just...sad that his childhood friend isn't being friendly and doesn't want to go home? Sarra foottaps atop her cloud as she thinks about that. Sarra feels like she is decent at romance, but this is friendship. Sarra is terrible at friendship. That won't stop her from trying, though. "Um...well...did he ever ask her what was wrong? I think sometimes just talking is enough to help two people get over whatever is happening between them. Oh! Do they have...like...space flowers or something?" 'with the help of Sundew's balloons' Sarra blinks in confusion. "...my balloons...?" she says quietly, then shakes her head. "The feather did nothing. Apparently, he can fly but is just choosing not to." Sarra doesn't have anything to say on the theories of literature. She just reads books she likes, she doesn't think about the deep, underlying themes of literature. 'Alright, the PAGE is equipped and I can make use of the BROOM in order to summon the PORTAL.' Sarra does a bewildered double-take at hearing Arthur's inflections from Angela, then huffs. Why do people she likes have to like people she hates? 'I thought you said he was a baby. Do we have to give the 'baby' advice on how to treat girls first??' Sarra shrugs in exasperation. "Give me a break. Kaiju age is not exactly something I am familiar with. And...it seems so? He obviously does not know what to do." |
| Riku Asakura | 'Yeah! ¶Great job/Hang in there/Attaboy¶!' Geed can't help but flash a thumbs-up at Nika because he doesn't do facial expressions while in Ultraman form. He's at least grateful for the vote of confidence from her, though! 'You actually came up with it yourself?!' "Yeah?" Geed asks, not sure what is wrong, "Don't you come up with your own attack names?" he asks, still trying to soothe the kaiju child down. "I mean, don't all named attacks have to come from somewhere?" Satoko is dropped off by Moa again, safely out of kaiju thrash range, and of course, with the same disorientation that overtook her the first time. "How do you do that..?" she says, disoriented. 'You can't go holding that over people's heads like that!' '...I did, but...I was not about to criticize it at the time.' Geed looks at Petra and has to think about that for a minute. "Oh, I guess that's... true. I'm sorry Sarracenia." He feels genuine about it, because he didn't think it was mean of him in the moment, but on reflection it was quite stupid to say that like he was holding it over her head. 'Also, like, wouldn't *Tidal* Moon Healing convey it better?' Geed thinks about that for another minute, while using the chains that Petra manages to get around Zandrias as a hold to help lift the smaller Kaiju. Thankfully, Zandrias is less rowdy right now and more mopey because his girlfriend has been brought up. To Petra's suggestion, Geed finally says, "Damn... that's a good one..." He pauses, "I can't use sparkle moon healing, because that's a magical girl attack, and I am not a magical girl." 'Is this a baby or is this a whole ass teenager jumping up and down and wailing at us?' Satoko has to think about this question for a little bit. She tries to piece together what she got from Zandrias and then nods in certainty. "Well, from what I can gather, he's like... ten Earth years old? I mean, he's obviously older, but like... mentally closer to a ten-year-old." |
| Riku Asakura | The portal opens, and this is a good point for Geed to be able to start moving him towards it. "Thanks, Angela," Geed says to her, but it's not quite done yet... There is still the broken heart to deal with. Moa, however, has something to say and has managed to procure a megaphone. She starts to talk to the Zandrias; like Riku, she wears her heart on her sleeve because the words that are coming out now seem to come from a place. "Don't give up so easily! The thing with liking someone is it might hurt a lot. But... it makes you happy just being near the person you like. Meeting someone like that is amazing! So... you can't leave them. No matter what happens! If you really like that girl, go and see her now! Standing around doing nothing won't get you anywhere!" This causes the Zandrias to look down, perhaps in thought. It's not a complex topic, but maybe for a younger child who childishly has feelings for another girl, it makes sense. Geed, listening to this, doesn't necessarily understand the feelings Moa is putting out in the open, but feels something shift in himself. Right now, he doesn't have time to address these complicated feelings... "Alright, let's go find your friend..." Geed takes Zandrias through the portal, and they are already starting to fly. Zandrias starts to thrash in his chains a bit into the trip, and Geed takes the chains off to let him go free. Flying off towards some innocuous-looking meteors, he starts flying rapidly towards them until the meteors change... And a second Zandrias emerges. The two fly towards each other, screeching towards each other as they finally seem to hover close by. Finally, they start to fly away from Earth and deeper into space, together. Geed is there to watch it all, and anyone who is looking through the portal. Moments later, Geed flies back through the portal and undoes the transformation to turn back into Riku. |
| Lilian Rook | 'Once it's equipped I'll have an easier time knowing, but I can't imagine my ability borrowing from Arthur will be as skillful as he has with multiple eternities under his belt.' "Oh dear god." Lilian suddenly freezes. "Please don't start talking like him though." 'You wouldn't even *consider* 'Sparkle' Moon Healing! Even though water sparkles more than it smashes!' "Petra is he just kinda ¶illiterate/adorable/boys will be boys¶ or does he actually think about that kinda stuff?" 'Or I may shrimply be unable to imagine an interconnected society of that level.' "Nope. I'm on vacation from thinking about hypothetical societies of totally unfamiliar cognitive paradigms." . . . . . . . . 'Do we have to give the 'baby' advice on how to treat girls first??' "No! No we're not! Fuck that! I'm not brainstorming how to get a baby alien off its damn phone so it can't scroll incel youtube!" Lilian's sheer indignance is backed with Nika's continued, hysterical laughter. The arms on the Eggpack squeeze Petra around the middle so hard that it's kind of difficult to breathe. Both control sticks are smushed to Nika's chest from having rolled into the table leg and curled up on the floor. It only relieves when she wipes her eyes. 'Oh, god, so he's a *teenager*? He's a hormonal sulking teenager? There's no *way*, he was all, crying and jumping on Geed and--' '... Okay, I know we're talking about a big monster here, but if you can psychically sense gender, can you tell his age too?' "Huh?! Why does that matter?!" Lilian pitches up over into a brand new octave. "I'm not taking her back there! Not for that! This is so-- Stupid!" Unfortunately, Petra knows this particular sort of fussy, uncooperative fuming well enough; despite a brave effort to be skeptical, the headcanon is involuntarily stuck, solely because it's so outlandishly goofy and annoyingly inconvenient that it smacks of 'Multiverse stuff'. "Do we have a big room we can lock it in until it stops throwing a fit?!" 'Ah--well if you take the Silver bottle out, then I get desuited! Actually, you can probably just tell the Silver to do stuff just as well as I can...? Can you make it give me upgrades?' Nika, having peeled herself off the floor, says "Okay . . ." then "Okay!" and, sniffling and giggling from the chest ¶<Okay!>¶ and . . . grabs hold? Of the Silver? A portion squished together into the palms of the extra arms is brought to the Eggpack screen like a firefly cupped in both hands, and Nika leans in to whisper; but Petra can feel it-- "Tada!" 'Alright, let's go find your friend...' Lilian's blisteringly indignant diatribe is drowned out like Nika's voice with the opening of the portal and the arrival of more giant monsters; so all that Petra 'hears', when the Silver clumps up on top of her head and the base of her spine, is ¶<Ouppy!>¶ She can't hear the laughter, but the arms freeze in mid-posture, so Nika dropped the controller. |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel seemingly pops into existence near Riku, as he gets near Moa at the end here. He thinks, urgently, <Ah, Geed! Um... Rather, Riku... Should I...> He makes several motions that look sort of like he's holding up a pen and putting sunglasses on, then twisting something near his temple, then, maybe, highlighting something in a file? Densely, repeatedly? <You know?> But Riku decides to turn that down. <Ah, no memory wipe then? Well, congrats on committing.> Flamel swaps to active speaking. "Hey there!" He calls out. "Have I mentioned how your very responsible brother has been doing *watchdog* activities? I feel like that's a nice tone-setter for learning about his other job as big." He tries to put those words more in order. "I mean-- his other big job. Did I mention how he's responsible? I've been teaching him to be a camp counselor." Great work Flamel. |
| Petra Soroka | "I can't use sparkle moon healing, because that's a magical girl attack, and I am not a magical girl." "Yeah, yeah. I know. But *Tidal* is really good. You have to admit that." Petra sighs, one hand on her hip. "And, Sundew, the moon literally is the reason for the tides. That's where they come from." "Kaiju age is not exactly something I am familiar with. And...it seems so? He obviously does not know what to do." Petra slowly deflates, air digitally rasping through the mask of Sting Silver. Unfortunately, she pretty much agrees with Sarracenia here! Which is always a difficult thing to have to accept. "Ten years old is, like, literally the worst age possible to be fighting with your childhood best girl friend, because it's basically inevitable! Why's he on Earth for this though, huh? Why's he ten years old and having a tantrum like this because of his friend being a little distant!" Petra liked this a lot better when she thought the Zandrias was, like, four years old and missing his mom. Being a ten year old boy sulking is way way way less sympathetic! Now she's fucking armored up and she brought Nika along for *top secret Elite missions* and she's laughing so hard that *Petra* can't breathe and-- well, it's probably fine, actually. Grappled by the Eggpack's arms so hard that the armor of Sting Silver creaks, Petra valiantly struggles to speak through the status condition. "This is-- this is what I meant about it not mattering! This is Elite stuff. *Two* days," She emphasizes, solely to invoke a new squeal of frustration from Lilian in the middle of her rant, "Because of a big tweenage alien throwing a fit." "Don't give up so easily! The thing with liking someone is it might hurt a lot." Okay. Okay. She's had her fun, but this is a big monster and also a child who needs some amount of emotional support, for practical reasons if nothing else. She can dig deep inside of herself and conjure up a well of sympathy necessary to perform some Kamen Rider appropriate shouts. "Okay, dude, I know everything seems so important when you're young, but she also..." Petra opens up her eyes again, and is inexorably reminded that she is speaking with a big tubby winged monster the size of a skyscraper. The image of two of them walking down an elementary school hallway hand in hand pops into her mind unbidden, and she immediately bursts into laughter again. "Fuck. Fuck! Just go! It'll be okay!" "Tada!" Petra said it offhandedly, but she didn't think about the ramifications of Nika *actually* ¶speaking to the Silver until it happens. The Silver occupies a strange psychological space for Petra, in the hazy grey line where body and tool aren't cleanly delineated, sensory but equippable. The experience, then, of having a request made directly of what is apparently just enough not her body for it to function, is a little bit like hitting her funny bone and a little bit like having her hair pulled. She's still recovering from that by the time Nika falls over on herself laughing. The new Silver tail wags absentmindedly as she surveils the situation she finds herself in, before part of the sensation makes her double take and realize what Nika's done. With the Silver being told to hold a single bodily shape, Petra has basically no neural way of distinguishing it from her flesh and blood, so the metal *body parts* are hard for her to consciously notice. "Wait-- eh? Huh? You know, I'm not sure if this, um, counts as a suit upgrade?" With the tail still wagging too fast to be dignified, Petra mumbles, "That's a pretty cool thing to learn now, though...." |
| Sarracenia | 'Oh, I guess that's... true. I'm sorry Sarracenia.' Sarra blinks in surprise at being apologized to. "Oh! Uh...do not worry about it." she says, happy just to be treated like a person. 'Don't give up so easily!' % Sarra, unlike Geed, knows just where Moa's speech is coming from. She smiles lightly as she listens, then nods quickly in agreement. "She definitely wants you to talk to her! And she is probably worried and wondering what happened to you!" Sarra watches a bit jealously as Petra weaves those chains. Why can't she do that with her Silver? Watching Geed take the Zandrias through the portal is pretty amazing, though! The princess floats over to join the others with Moa and Satoko as she watches. She smiles happily as another Zandrias emerge and takes the child with it. "Excellent work, Geed!" she says. She keeps watching until the portal closes or the Zandrias are out of sight. "It is so nice to get to help someone~" she says cheerfully. 'And, Sundew, the moon literally is the reason for the tides. That's where they come from.' Sarra huffs at Petra. "I know that! But, that is more specifically the ocean and it was just unclear if that was what he was going for since he was calling it Smash!" Moa and Riku are now close together. Flamel says things, and Sarra isn't sure about the content but she nods at the intent. "Riku is very dependable! And loyal!" she says, then smiles a bit impishly before smiling cheerfully. "You know, Riku. You should really invite Moa to dinner somewhere that you two can talk~ I think you have much to talk about!" It seems Riku is obvlivious to things, so Sarra does her best to push in a way that will help Moa without embarrassing either Moa or Riku too much. Sarra also finally takes notice of Liliah being high-strung. More than usual, even. Sarra raises an eyebrow before quietly asking, "Are you alright, Lilian?" |
| Angela | ''No! No we're not! Fuck that! I'm not brainstorming how to get a baby alien off its damn phone so it can't scroll incel youtube!'' Angela wasn't really looking forward to teaching a kaiju about girls anyway. Not really because the cultural context is probably different, because by the sound of it it really isn't, but because that always feels like a doomed activity in the first place. She waves off Sarracenia asking for a break in an attempt to provide her one, she isn't going to bust Sarracenia down for not guessing kaiju age correctly. But once she hears it's 'about ten', well, ten isn't exactly baby age but it isn't exactly surly teen either. It's fine. Of course, this does mean that now that she has made a portal her work is broadly 'done' with. And then the kaiju seems to meet that friend--or maybe it's someone else, she has no idea-- through the portal and swoop off to space after all. Angela waits for a moment, a little confused that nothing bad happened immediately as a result of her trying to lend a hand, and she dispels the portal by wiggling that broom around as if she's sweeping the whole thing away. ''Please don't start talking like him though.'' "I promise that so long as I mantain proper concentration, I should not speak like Arthur again." Angela promises Lilian without mentioning that it is actually a little tricky for her to focus on making portals even with the page so that proper concentration isn't really a guarantee. She better be very careful with this thing. The cosmic power is one thing, but gaining Arthur personality traits even on a temporary scale is rather frightening. She doesn't want to be infected by eternity any more than she already has. ''Why's he ten years old and having a tantrum like this--'' "He may have ran off and accidentally got pulled into orbit and now it's been a long time and so it feels awkward to-- ... Well I suppose it doesn't matter, they are reconnecting two kaiju friends and have saved a friendship, I suppose." She listens to Petra complain about a tween causing two days of Elite work. It occurs to Angela in this moment that none of this had anything to do with Ultraman Belial and she pretty much wasted a pretty powerful page she drew from someone she doesn't really see much and should be saved and preserved so she can use it for proper travel some day. But it's hard for her to get riled up about it, honestly. It's basically already over. "What's done is done." She sihgs. |
| Riku Asakura | Before Geed leaves... 'But *Tidal* is really good. You have to admit that.' Geed sighs, because he /knows/ she's right. He nods at Petra, accepting that he now has to change the name of Smash Moon Healing to Tidal Moon Healing. Well... it makes sense, to be fair. 'Okay, dude, I know everything seems so important when you're young, but she also...' Zandrias stares at Petra as she tries not to laugh and eventually fails. Her last words, 'It'll be okay,' cause him to seriously consider the advice. Maybe she's right..? It'll be okay... 'She definitely wants you to talk to her!' "Yeah..." Geed says. He can't deny that he was likely surprised and worried about Moa when he learned she was working for the AIB. He does owe her an explanation of some sort. |
| Riku Asakura | 'Do we have a big room we can lock it in until it stops throwing a fit?!' Satoko looks unconvinced at Lilian, "I don't think we have a large enough room, and it looks like it's not going to be needed. Unless it flies back down to Earth?" Satoko, right now, is hugging Moa, rather liking her speech about human relationships. It touches her in a way that she didn't really understand before. Riku, back in normal form, gives Flamel a strange look because he doesn't get what he's trying to imply at first. When he just goes out and says it, he shakes his head and waves his hands at him, because he'd rather not have anyone's memories get erased today! He goes to start walking towards Moa when Flame starts 'helping him out' with such winning phrases as 'watchdown activities' and 'training to be a camp counselor'. Riku tries not to put his palm on his face, and instead looks at Moa with a serious expression. 'Riku is very dependable! And loyal!' Riku can't help but blush at all these compliments. The blush moves to /both/ of them when Sarracenia suggests he take her to dinner. "Uh... well, I guess this might be easier to explain over a meal..." Riku says bashfully. |
| Lilian Rook | 'This is Elite stuff. *Two* days,' "Two days!" Lilian stomps her foot for emphasis. Nika wheezes on the verge of passing out squealing. 'Fuck. Fuck! Just go! It'll be okay!' Nika lapses into hiccuping. She doubles over, clutching her tummy. Only the back of her head is visible from the camera. 'Wait-- eh? Huh? You know, I'm not sure if this, um, counts as a suit upgrade? That's a pretty cool thing to learn now, though....' Lilian stares at Petra, one eyebrow in her bangs, lips frozen in a confused place between a laugh and contempt. "Are you aware that your . . . 'tail' is wagging?" Petra is thrown forward by her second set of arms lurching out ahead of hear. Little electric whirr-y noises follow the greasy gripful grabbing of Nika's gyroscopic gribblers, motivated to a rhythm by precise and frenetic control-stick waggling to push Petra closer to Lilian. Still sobbing with laughter, Nika holds her breath long enough to truncate all of her thoughts down to a teary-wheezing ". . . --next-- . . . ! . . . ¶kibby¶!"
