| Flamel Parsons | It's about eighteen hours into the Storm sheltering period. The kitchen is finally clean. There's nothing left to do there. Flamel sits in a parlor area and fails to settle himself. He's slept, he's bathed, he's had time to sort out at least a fresh shirt if little else. The rich wood paneling, nice wide windows, and the soft inverse patter of rain give this such a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere that fails to hold. It should be a pleasant night in, warm and dry and out of the storm. It should be. He's invited anyone else here to take a minute. Plenty of seating to share here. "I'm sort of past overdue on mental maintenance, and my Censor network is down after the Stormchaser Procedure." He had explained. "So, I'd like some extra hands in my mindscape for a bit. It's nothing complicated, outer-layer thought-processes, I just can't self-operate under these conditions. I need some extra hands to run cleanup. Kill anything that looks hostile, clear out anything that looks out of place, anything that gets it in a better state." |
| Regulus | At this point, Regulus has finally stopped crying, for the most part, she still cries a little when getting reminders of this and that but at this point she's talked to Vertin, she's had time to talk to various people in the Suitcase about future plans, and she hears of Flamel's invitation to everyone and ultimately figures it's a good opportunity to fill potential allies in on Vertin's plans even if she's a bit hesitant about Flaemel. r "Hey Flamel." She says as she arrives. "I don't kill, is there still anything I can do? And is it alright if I talk to people about some stuff while we're working?" |
| Veronica | Veronica says, "...Kill things? Are they gonna try to kill *us*, or..." Veronica pauses. "They are, aren't they?" |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons makes an easygoing open-hand gesture. "Most psychic constructs are on cartoon logic -- I guess, vise-versa, but that's a whole conversation. Just hit anything that looks like you ought to be hitting it, your brain handles most of the recognition there. Just some work to do with your hands, you know." |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons says, "And feel free to talk. God knows the silence can be a lot worse." |
| Odette Raskins | Odette Raskins has had a hell of a time for the past however many hours it's been, and she's already given up on counting how many since she's been in this shelter. She never quite got around to crying out anything so much as she had just gotten up to punch a wall hard enough to bleed, then sat huddled in a corner with barely a peep coming out. It's only when Flamel invites everyone over that she finally gets up to join the group. "Uh? OH. Y... Yeah, sure. Just hit with... Yeah. Okay." She mumbles, absent-mindedly rubbing her bandwaged wrist. |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons turns to Veronica. "My mind's a lot less violent than most peoples', I have good control of my mental immune system. But, you'll see some Personal Demons, probably a good number of Doubts and Regrets. They'll *attack*, doubt they could land a kill at the outer mental zones." |
| Regulus | Regulus says, "Okay, fab. Cause it's about what we talked about earlier." She looks to Veronica and Odette, who are people she has barely talked to. "You good too?" She looks back to Flamel. "So like they grab dynamite and it explodes and they puff out smoke? It'll not be mentally healthy for me to murder thoughts." |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons laughs, weakly. "Thoughts don't die." He explains to Regulus. "Just disperses their mental energy into reusable form. Like a figment of your imagination, you know?" |
| Odette Raskins | Odette Raskins says, "Mmnnneh." She barely answers Regulus with a somewhat vacant tone and a distant stare, looking up after several seconds to look from her to Veronica to Flamel. She visibly struggles to say anything, clears her throat, then finally asks "Y... How're you all holding up? I have... Stuff. If you need stuff."" |
| Veronica | Veronica says, "Wait, are you gonna be able to hear us in there? If Regulus wants some private discussion..." |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons gets to fumbling around in the pocket of his jacket; he's set that aside for now, ripped-up and mud-splattered (and Manus-Vindictae-color-coded) as it is. He pulls out a small door, metal, with a big dramatic eye-on-hand icon on the glass. It looks like the front door of a spy agency in sixties-era movies... |
| Regulus | "...Okay." Regulus is uncertain. "I mean, yoou're literally asking us. And I need to--" She looks to Veronica. "It's fine, Flamel can hear it too. I don't think there's anybody in the Suitcase who ''shouldn't' hear it right now." She blinks at Odette. "Stuff? ... What's 'stuff'?" |
| Riku Asakura | Riku had actually gotten some sleep. SOME sleep, enough that he wasn't running on fumes and actually aware enough that he could start making sense of what had happened over the last two days. Invited over to the seat by Flamel he arrives... Then talking about going inside his head. He can't say he's not curious at least, but it does sound both a little dangerous and a little bit weird. "So cartoon physics and hostile thoughts?" |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons says, "This is the stuff I need right now, here. But I appreciate it. *Physically* my body's mostly okay. A bit thanks to you." |
| Riku Asakura | Riku looks at the gate. "Isn't that what you tried to use on Forget-Me-Not?" |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons says, "As for listening in, hhh... Don't worry. You all know where to duck aside to get privacy. But the things Regulus has on the mind, that's stuff I know. Maybe share, at the moment." |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons nods at Riku. "Yep. 'Psychoportal'. He puts it on his forehead. "Amplifies astral projection. I'll be drawing you in, in a second." |
| Regulus | Regulus waves a hand at Flamel, "Yeah, I'm counting on you too." She frowns though. "How do we even fit inside there though, it's tiny. Maybe APPLe could go through." |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons says, "I'd planned to get in there, learn what he was doing, figure out how to help Schneider. But then Lilian... I can't blame her. Can't blame someone for preserving her cover." |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons laughs brightly, still a bit weakly. "You'll see. Fitting is easier than it looks, promise." |
| Riku Asakura | Riku Asakura looks a bit concerned at this. When the portal goes on Flamel's head he shakes his own head. "This sounds a bit scary..." |
| Odette Raskins | Odette Raskins stares at the door while rummaging around in her own pockets, eventually taking out a drink mixing packet of legally-distinct Company-branded Gatorade! "Stuff. For.. .Um. For rehydrating after all the.. Everything." She offers to Regulus as an explanation and also for use! "Just make sure to mix it and not eat it straight.. Er. I think? I haven't tried it dry before..." |
| Regulus | "...Yeah, cover." Regulus says distantly. "Let's just ... get this over with. The more time we have before the Storm's over the better." |
| Odette Raskins | Odette Raskins says, "Maybe it'll be easier if we get an arm in?" |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons nudges the door. It pops open, and shimmering light pours out... "It's not as scary as it sounds. All of us spend a lot of time in our own heads. It's not dangerous in there, and it's good to get out of them." |
| Regulus | Regulus looks to Odette, "Oh sure, I'll have some gatorade." KEY ITEM OBTAINED: DEHYDRATED GATORADE MIX God knows what she'll actually end up using it for. |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons plants two fingers on each temple, and gradually imparts this strange feeling of 'tugging'. An invitation to bring each participant's *astral form* out of their body, and into the astral plane of Flamel's mind. If accepted, it's a literal disembodying out-of-body experience, flowing into the door... |
| Riku Asakura | Riku Asakura isn't sure about this, but it's too late now; he already said he'd go in. Riku becomes astral before being sucked into the psychoportal and directly injected into Flamel's strange mind. |
| Veronica | Veronica's first attempt to astrally project nearly manifests Baker and Seventh in the suitcase's parlor. After her EGO's hundreds of arms fold back into her jacket, she gives a stiff "sorry..." and gets it right on the second go. |
| Regulus | Regulus screams, of course, as she's pulled out of her body and throwin into the door. "What the fuck my body is there what the fuck ahhhhhh!!" She groans on the floor of Flamel's brain (or whatever) when she finally materializes there. "I'm gonna hurl. If I throw up in Flamel's brain will that do something bad?" |
| Flamel Parsons | Welcome to the PARSONS INSTITUTE FOR ANOMALOUS STUDY. The aesthetic of this place is... honestly enriching in its own way. Brutalist concrete and heavy metal merge with frequent plant life, murals, and posters about good anomaly-handling safety, good health, or social connection. But it's in a bad state, a real mess... Dense, slimey clusters of Doubt have merged with red feathers everywhere, thick enough to block doors or make hallways troublesome. Behind the foyer, desks are turned over. Struggling staff are trying to clean, trying to get emergency work together, trying to restart security systems. |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's voice crackles over the PA system. "Hey, thanks for stopping in. If you throw up, it'll be fine, but really, take time to steady if you need it. I'll get the Director to come see you in a bit." |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's mind might be a recognizable place to Regulus, specifically. The last phase of the Psychogate disaster took place here, when it leaked into the real world. |
| Riku Asakura | Riku slowly stands up from his spot on the ground to see bits of slime sticking to almost everything, and red feathers in them. He looks at the feathers, "Are those like... what Schneider wore?" he asks, squinting. The intercom tells them that the director would be on their way, but... "What are these things?" he says, not touching the doubt. |
| Veronica | Veronica can't help but shift uncomfortably as she lands in the corporate-industrial Parsons Institute. It reminds her of her mental image of a Wing headquarters, dread goop and all. |
| Regulus | Regulus steadies herself and grimaces. "Ugh...here again and..." She notices the red feathers. "...Fab, just fab. No, don't ruin fab by being sarcastic with fab." She takes a breath and lets it out. "So uh. Just so you all know, I talked with Vertin and the Foundation's probably gonna try to strongarm us all--those of us in the Suitcase, Druvis me, everyone, into joining the Foundation. And if we don't they'll throw us out or put us in a cell." |
| Flamel Parsons | In response to Riku's nearby examination, a few (not two, but not a lot) glowing orange eyes swim along the surface of the slime, shifting feathers as they go. |
| Riku Asakura | Riku Asakura jumps back from the eyes, reaching for a 'Fusion Riser' that exists here because Riku's mind only understands transformation through devices. "What in the heck?" |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's Director arrives, still looking *mostly* like a late-fifties-age version of Flamel. He looks smaller than when Regulus met him, and he's using a utilitarian cane for stability. "The Parsons Institute will be negotiating as best it can with the Foundation. There are important projects, ones that will need Foundation resources eventually." |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's PA voice crackles, "UPE-004. Doubt. They're very flammable and chemically reactive, if you can help get rid of them." To answer Riku's question. |
| Riku Asakura | Riku looks towards Director Flamel. He looks... retro? Showa era? Yeah definitely Showa... He talks about working with the Foundation. He has his own doubts about this, especially after the talks with people in the suitcase that happened so recently. He looks back to the gunk, the 'Doubt'. "Fire, huh..?" he says. He has just the form for that. "Will it be dangerous to remove?" |
| Veronica | Veronica says to Regulus, "Jeez, really? I wouldn't be suprised if they didn't trust Druvis, but you and Sotheby and the rest?" |
| Veronica | Veronica says, "I guess they really are cops. Damn, had my hopes up." |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's Director gives a grim nod. "We need controlled burns. At least something to calm it and calcify." He walks alongside a stretch of hallway, inviting the others. "UPE-1929 elimintated most of the outbreak's cores. We need help with recovery." |
| Veronica | Veronica says, "UPE-1929? That some kind of construct you made just for the last era?" |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's voice switches from PA to nearby hallway screens, the man's own face popping up on arrays of CRTs. "The Foundation has to work the way any organization works. Which means, when something like this happens... It has to stick to the protocols, and it might get scared. Try to remember that an organization can be scared too, when it comes time." |
| Odette Raskins | Odette Raskins doesn't know much/anything about astral projecting, but she's good at following instructions! She's also still really out of it generally, so there's no risk of her throwing up in Flamel's brain. "Fire, huh...? Oh, I've got something for that." She offers, then remembers she's in Flamel's head. She checks for her case of stuff that would normally hold her cauterizing tools, then stareas at her hand to see if she can just turn it into fire on the spot. She really has no idea what she's doing. |
| Riku Asakura | Veronica beats him to the question. So he takes a moment, scanning two capsules, before disappearing and reforming into Ultraman Geed Solid Burning. His hand catches fire, controlling the power of the Ultraman he has and attempts to burn away the doubt in their path. |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons answers Veronica in an indirect way. A sputtering printer in one of the offices nearby prints out a file for UPE-1929 (viewable at +info Flamel Parsons/UPE-1929). The photo on it seems to be of a somewhat distorted version of Schneider Greco's face. |
| Veronica | Veronica says, "Oh, jeez, uh, I see. So she's- it's, yeah, okay, I can work with this." |
| Regulus | Regulus says, "Uh great." to Flamel who was never sure if the Parsons Institute was just Flamel or like the people who made FLamel or like the Mesmer Foundation, but for Flamel or for that matter it's just the Mesmer Foundation for Flamel but it only exists inside Flamel. "Well actually I was hoping you'd help us with, um, well we're gonna find a spot in the Foundation and barricade in there and fend off anybody--uh non-fatally, like no serious wounding Vertin asked for that and it's a good idea since we're still gonna need the Foundation too." She looks to Veronica. "Huh? Well Sotheby is a fourteen year old girl and I'm a known troublemaker who didn't join the Foundation." |
| Veronica | Veronica clearly has no idea how to react to the presence of a Schneider Greco surrogate in Flamel's mind. |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's Doubts burn under cauterization. It's less of a matter of 'can it burn' and more of a matter of 'can the burn be controlled' here. The feathers catch, and slowly disperse. The smoke smells like slightly spoiled oranges. If Odette can keep that to the edges, where the sludge joins the surface of the concrete, she can keep it from burning too wildly, and maybe cautery tools work well for that. |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's Director rumbles a bit. His cane clicks softly as he walks alongside Regulus. "...I don't know if we'll be able to help." He says. "But it's... possible. We need to see the Foundation head. If she can give us something in particular we need, we'll have to agree to her terms, whatever they are. If she can't, we won't just *want* to work with you, we'll *have* to work with you." |
| Odette Raskins | Odette Raskins says, "Barricading in...? Er. But what if this whole thing goes to crap? Like... W-wouldn't that give the Foundation more excuses to keep us locked up even longer?" She gives Regulus a worried look, although she apparently already has it in her head that she's going to be involved.." |
| Riku Asakura | Ultraman Geed turns from the burning pile of doubt to Director Flamel. "What do you mean by have to work with you? Aren't you already doing that?" |
| Odette Raskins | Odette Raskins is totally good at the controlled burning! It's pretty hard not to, because even her astral projected version of surgical tools aren't good for much more than pinpoint burning. She does flinch a little at the smell, but not enough to get her to pull a mask out. |
| Veronica | Veronica replies to Regulus, "Oh, word? You'll need some muscle, then. Especially if you camp on their turn, people are gonna be *mad*." |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's Director shakes his head at Odette. "It happens, in an institute like that." He says. "Here, the Emotional Regulation Department still has their desks against the doors here. An organization is a mind. They'll act the same way." |
| Veronica | Veronica, without even seeming to think about it, deploys Baker and Seventh's water pipe from her concrete arm and sprays the parts of the fire that get out of control. |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's Director nods. Cauterization for controlled burn, Solid Burning for larger-area burn, and a direct fire extinguisher for controlling the end and washing away the last of it. "Good." He says. Men in hazmat suits begin to swarm the site and handle the last of it. |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons tilts his head on one of the nearby displays, when Geed asks what he means... "I actually don't know what he means. The Director is one of my executive functions, and he doesn't always tell me what ideas I have until they're ready. Director Parsons, care to declassify?" |
| Regulus | Regulus says, "Yeah, I mean, I get that. But why not get what you need from her on our teams. You said you'd help Vertin, you said that was important. You gonna give up just because of political convenience? You decided to stop taking risks just because they blew up in your face a couple times?" But she breathes in, pulling herself back a bit. "You know, they still know you as Manus allies." She looks to Odette, "We won't lose. Vertin's got an idea. A proposal to make Team Timekeeper a reality. But we need to give her the support by being a real pain in the neck that it seems ''easier'' and ''better'' to let that proposal go through. It might fail, sure, but if we don't try we'll just ... We'll just prove that we don't have anything to us. We'll let her down when she needed us most." She gives Veronica a thumbs up and a nod. She KNOWS Veronica's ready for this. |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's Director shakes his head, refusing to answer Flamel himself. "The proposals will be finalized in twelve hours." He gives a startlingly solemn, honest frown to Regulus. "I would if I could. The Foundation has resources you don't. If they'll give me what I need, I will take them. If they won't, you'll have my full support. This project... it's more important than the freedom of the Timekeeper's group. But the Timekeeper and her allies are still important to me." |
| Riku Asakura | Ultraman Geed shakes his head. "So you're willing to give up on friends and allies to make this work? You didn't seem so willing to give up on these things when you followed Schneider from the Manus..." he says. He can't frown as a Ultraman, but you can hear it in his voice. |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's Director gestures for the group to follow further, into LIGHT CONTAINMENT. "You can see. If you want." Past there, signage points to cells containing the mental images Flamel has of people. The rich patterned leather of the Suitcase has lodged partway into the containment department... Everything is tossed around here. |
| Veronica | Veronica puts her free hand under her chin while idly dousing the runaway flames. "How's the Timekeeper gonna put that proposal forward while the Foundation's pissed off at her?" |
| Regulus | Regulus looks at the Director for a long moment. She decides this is the best she's going to get. "Don't spill the beans, at least, alright? We're gonna need at least some time to get situated. The timing of when we make our move matters. AT least SOME people in the Foundation are gonna need to be sympathetic, and the rest are gonna need to think it'll benefit them in some way." She looks to Veronica. "She's talked to Sonetto, she's probably already handed off the plans in case she can't do so. Point is, we don't have to worry about the Plan getting out there, we just need to make them consider it." She looks over to the Suitcase. rShe quirks her head and actually fucking approaches it to investigate. Hey, he offered. |
| Veronica | Veronica says, "Smart, smart, yeah. Shoulda known they'd have everything covered best they could, Vertin's a smart cookie." |
| Flamel Parsons | LIGHT CONTAINMENT has suffered a huge earthquake. A proportionately massive structure of Vertin's suitcase has lodged in here, occupying/obstructing/replacing multiple cells. The doors still lead inside, into Foundation-ized versions of the Parsons Institute's stardard containment cells. Everything's scrambled. Items are scattered in the wrong chambers, in disrepair, or missing, and anomalous mental images of wandering suitcase-inhabitants are refusing to return since their chambers wouldn't be very comfy. UPE-1929's chamber is blasted open irrepairably, and saturated with red feathers. She is not here. |
| Odette Raskins | Odette Raskins rubs her arm lightly briefly as she considers what Regulus is telling her, showing a bit more emotion now in that she looks troubled at all rather than just out of it. "I hope so... Nn. I just... I mean, what if the Foundation has a better plan going forward, though? For the Storm and... Whatever else this is all for?" She asks with an uncomfortable fidget, following Director Parsons towards CONTAINMENT. She peers in because she definitely isn't going to miss seeing what's in there. |
| Riku Asakura | Ultraman Geed has no choice but to follow, and so he does into Light Containment. He's curious if he's in one of these cells, but decides NOT to just... peak on things they're not here for. He notices the Suitcase, seemingly lodged into the department. "This place seems like a mess.." he follows Regulus to the Suitcase. And now things are a mess. "How do... you even fix this?" |
| Veronica | Veronica can't help but glance around, peeking through glass windows and cracked doors, to see if Flamel has a mental image of *her* in here somewhere. She's not helping clean up yet, or only doing so to access new areas. |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's Director finally stops, waiting with some hope for the others to assist. He nods to Regulus. "You can stop by Records and Censoring to remove the conversation, if you need to. But I don't plan on bargaining that information. I don't want to stop you from being free." He gestures with his cane at the wandering somewhat-cartoony Regulus. "I've got my hands full trying to stop her wandering around." |
| Regulus | Regulus exhales and starts sweeping up and generally tidying the place up. She's gotten used to this kind of work. "By starting somewhere." She tells Riku, tonelessly looking at UPE-1929's chamber. "The toughest part will probably be securing ourselves on the first day. After that, we'll have to worry about food and supplies. This might be a long haul siege after all. And then we'll go on the offensive. I've had a while to check out the Foundation's systems, I think I can worm my way through them." She waves a hand to the cartoony Regulus. "...Nah, I mean, Vertin wants to operate off trust so ... Fresh slate as far as I'm concerned." |
| Riku Asakura | Ultraman Geed looks at the large Suitcase. "Well I guess this is a good starting point?" he half asks and starts flying to it, trying to ... move it? Put it somewhere better? |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's mind does indeed contain a mental image of Veronica, in a 'B' type cell. This one's well-contained, seemingly comfortable in her chamber. LIGHT CONTAINMENT seems to have several types of cells: LIGHT CONTAINMENT A: Collaborative - Actively wishing to assist LIGHT CONTAINMENT B: Friendly - Studiable, not proactively contributing. LIGHT CONTAINMENT C: Neutral - Unresponsive to collaborative study. LIGHT CONTAINMENT D: Negative - Containable, resists study. |
| Odette Raskins | Odette Raskins bites her lip at seeing all the damage inside, but breathes a sigh of relief when there's no visible corpses inside Flamel's mind palace. "Not sure... Um. We did dig all those holes up that one time, but this isn't quite the same." She says with a light shrug at Riku, briefly holding a hand up to see if she can astral project a pickaxe for herself. Wait, that won't help. Instead, she goes to check on the anomalies, treating them soft-handedly just liek she would with a wandering patient. "Hey there, hi... Um. What happened in your room? I.. We might be able to help get it cleared up if you show us where to start..?" |
| Regulus | Regulus wonders which cell Regulus is in. She's CONFIDENT it's D or at least C. Grr! Flamel! She is quiet for a moment, unsure what to add. IT's not like she knows the in-depth Foundation politics. |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's mentals seem to be structured oddly. Working with the rest of the group, Geed will have to determine how each part of Team Timekeeper should be categorized. The earthquake has shaken up the Parsons Institutes categorization, so reassembling the suitcase-cells in the right type and zone is key. |
| Veronica | Veronica nods at the mental image's conditions, gives a little wave, and moves on. "So should we sort these folks by... age? Height? Favorite color?" |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons seems to be uncertain about where to put people in his mind right now. It's your job to decide. What should he think of Timekeeper Vertin? Regulus? Sonetto? Druvis? What type of chamber do they belong in? The task seems to be reassembly and sorting of the chambers now. |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's mind doesn't exactly have astral projection for things Odette doesn't have in real life! But a wandering cartoony Druvis firmly explains her desire to be somewhere nicely wooded and soundproofed. Finding some of the lost soundproofing and some of the plant life that still lives here should do it, and Odette can set that into the desired chamber. But which kind? |
| Riku Asakura | Geed gets the heavy suitcase out of the way, but this still leaves people of the suitcase everywhere. "How do you sort these people, Director?" he asks, trying to get some clue. |
| Veronica | Veronica scratches her hair with her concrete hand. "Well they have to be classed by helpfulness to the Parsons Insititute, right? Not necessarily to Flamel himself." |
| Regulus | "Nrgrghggh." Regulus says at the idea of differentiating the Parsons' Institute from Flamel. "Oh my goooodddd..." |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's mental image of Regulus refuses to stop wandering until she finally has a Dr. P...epper? Is that real? 'Dr. Pepper'? Some type of mental knock-off, I guess. She also wants her music collection. Cartoon-Sonetto, with her exaggerated corsetry, wants her books and a cell of the same type as Vertin, next-door. Cartoon-Vertin, whose hat is a bit too tall, wants a cell central to all of them, and her lost candy, though she seems to want little else. |
| Riku Asakura | Geed grabs both sides of his head and just looks down at the ground. "How can someone's mind be so complicated?" |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's Director answers Riku, "This breach and outbreak destroyed most of our records, and the staff in charge of Light Containment are being cycled. We need new categorizations." |
| Riku Asakura | Geed looks at the Director and just shakes his head. "You've got to be kidding me.." |
| Veronica | Veronica nods. "New categorizations, like different stuff than helpful, indifferent, whatever?" |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's Director shakes his head. "No, which type of containment they're meant to be in." This is all very metaphorical. Flamel's mind no longer has a certain grasp of the Timekeeper group. |
| Riku Asakura | Ultraman Geed tries to puzzle this out. "So they all want rooms with a specific thing... but also rooms within certain distances of each other..." he says. "Can someone get a list of demands first?" |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's face, on one of the screens nearby, is absolutely fixed on the blasted-up old UPE-1929 cell. Sort of blank expression there, and total silence, unless someone grabs his attention. |
| Veronica | Veronica says, "Hey, Flamel, you good? I mean, is there anything we can help with there." |
| Odette Raskins | Odette Raskins gets directions, and that's just what she needs at this moment! Less stressing over what happened, more thinking about what she can do right now. She'll start looking for green stuff or brown stuff to work on getting some plant life together, but the soundproofing is going to be trickier. Does this place even have soundproofing? What does raw soundproofing actually look like? Wait, maybe there's some in the room cartoon-Druvis left. She just needs to do is poke her head into every room and see which one has the most plant remains to use as a baseline for figuring out what goes in! MAybe. |
| Regulus | Regulus grabs at an errant Dr. Pepper and rolls it into the Light Containment C Cell. She's pretty sure she doesn't have to do anything more than that. This is so weird, she's pretty sure she isn't supposed to be doing this. "Ahhhhh..." She says. "Starting to be envious for the siege to start." She grumbles. |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons is a bit delayed in his response to Veronica. "Huh? Ah... No, sorry. I had my hopes up for a moment, that's all." There's no uncanny, horribly comforting Schneider-oid proxy here. |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's mind hosts a rich, excellent fetch quest for Odette, demanding that she go around four different departments and give medical aid in order to get a keycard, exchange the keycard for a lost lucky stapler, exchange the stapler for an amnestic (twice, though she might forget the first time), and then trade the amnestic to an engineer for soundproofing. It's the simplest thing in the world. |
| Odette Raskins | Odette Raskins says, "If the siege starts while we're in here, won't it be harder to get anything prepared? L-like drinks and food?" She half-jokes to Regulus, but the concern is very real. Doing fetch quests helps keep her from worrying too much about that, at least, and the medical process is almost therapeutic in how normal it is for her to just do that. She's real tempted to test the keycard, but she's an EMT on a mission! And that mission is making sure her focus-patient is actually properly back in her room." |
| Riku Asakura | Ultraman Geed goes to search for candy for the Timekeeper. How do you even find candy in a place like this? |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's mind hosts another set of challenges for Ultraman Geed, which involves physically sorting desks. Receptionists have candy! Flamel doesn't understand the chemical details of picrasma candy, so he just cognizes it as regular candy, the kind that receptionists often have *if* Ultraman Geed can overcome the agony of moving entire cubicles around in the damaged administrative department. Should be easy-ish. |
| Riku Asakura | Ultraman Geed has a challenge. So he has to arrange cubicles, but also has to move around the damaged sectons of the department. It feels like a combination of Tetris and some other mobile game he's played before. He makes sure to move cubicles in such a way that they have a way out, and a path to the breakroom/bathroom/ect. Finally done, he takes a large breath and stands triumphant. |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's mind is largely sorted, after everyone's done some work on it. Director Parsons can handle finding the literature, if Veronica doesn't want to handle that, he *is* an acting individual here. But only one mental image has been sorted, Regulus into type C. Where does the Vertin-Sonetto pair belong? What about Druvis? The group's final task will be setting those in place, deciding how Flamel thinks about them. |
| Riku Asakura | Geed comes back with candy, "Alright I have the candy to get Vertin a room... but uh... where do we try and place her?" |
| Veronica | Veronica takes some time to think. "Flamel's ultimately anti-Storm, so Vertin probably belongs in B. Sonetto will listen to the timekeeper but is more loyal to the Foundation, so C for her. And Druvis tried to kill him repeatedly so I think she goes in D even after the shake-up." |
| Regulus | "I don't know," Regulus says. "That was like a day ago, she's probably over it. We probably shouldn't decide someone is hostile if we aren't totally sure." |
| Riku Asakura | Ultraman Geed thinks for a moment, "Druvis was effected by Schneider too, right? Maybe C is better?" |
| Odette Raskins | Odette Raskins says, "... Oh, right! Sorting, sorting. Where would Miss Druvis go...?" Odette wonders aloud, listening in on everyone's assessments. "C does sound pretty good. I don't think she ever really tried to kill anyone else, right?"" |
| Regulus | "Also, like, Flamel's not bothered by a lot of stuff," Regulus points out. "Or uh, if he is, he didn't tell us or show us that. I think the stuff he's upset about right now is pretty obvious." She hopes girlfriends stop dying around Flamel she's worried he's gonna make a room about it. |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's Director nods, agreeing with Regulus. "The Parsons Institute is durable." He says. "We have to be. Breaches every few months, at this rate. One attempted murder barely matters, and she isn't a murderer." He looks at her chamber somberly as she settles in, pleasantly, and the door shuts. |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's mental image of Sonetto seems to dislike being in a room with a type that doesn't match Vertin's! Veronica's suggestion seems workable, but either Vertin will need to be a C, or Sonetto will need to be a B, but either way, the room-setting fails when they're mismatched. |
| Riku Asakura | Ultraman Geed sighs when the last of the Suitcase people are getting sorted. "Mmm... do you think Sonetto could be moved to B?" |
| Odette Raskins | Odette Raskins says, "I could see B being more of a fit than C. Whenever Vertin's around, Miss Sonetto does seem a lot more relaxed." Odette suggests, taking a seat by Chamber B to just let her legs rest a bit. Even in the astral space, doing fetch quests can be tiring!" |
| Veronica | Veronica says, "Yeah, that should work. If she's gotta have a room next to the Timekeeper." |
| Regulus | "Yeah, Druvis isn't even a D for me right now." Regulus points out. And Regulus holds grudges longer than Flamel. And she is pretty sure this is because she's not a weirdo. And she's getting a little frustrated with how much 'arcanist' is being conflated with 'weirdo' because she's pretty sure some people can be weirdos without being arcanists here. Even if she's kind of getting to understand him better. Which is scary. "It's good that they complain if you get it wrong I'd feel so bad if they went in the wrong spots.")] |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's mind seems to accept that. As long as Sonetto and Vertin are in the same category, mental-Sonetto easily returns to where she belongs. Vertin and Sonetto both settle into the briefcase-chamber Geed arranged, and the doors click shut with a sense of truth to the whole process. |
| Riku Asakura | Ultraman Geed watches the chambers line up and of course shut. He takes a breath and leans over slightly, almost exhausted by the whole manuver. To be fair he's not /that/ exhausted, because his color coded light hasn't turned red and flashing yet. |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's Director leads them to other departments. In Records, they have to do similar little tasks to refine Flamel's healthy recollection of all this (and Regulus can choose to censor out her explanation of upcoming plans). In Recuperative Processing, the egg of a growing Nightmare requires careful disposal of hazardous materials so that Flamel won't have bad dreams after all this. Things like that. It's nothing exhausting. It's work to do with your hands to take your mind off things. And it's not long before the Parsons Institute is in a much better spot, and the helpful visitors can leave. |
| Riku Asakura | Ultraman Geed follows the Director into the other departments. He rubs the side of his head, looking around. "Is it me or does this place seem messier..?" he shrugs, and attempts to start moving a dangerous looking egg from one location into a disposal area. At least he's a Ultraman right now, and now Riku. |
| Regulus | Regulus isn't really going to censor Flamel. Flamel would say if he was planning on selling her out after all. He'd probably smile and say 'Yeah probably!' and honestly doing that would make her feel gross. She is feeling troubled by the fact that it felt like the sharing of the plan went a whole lot faster than the way it was explained to her. Though she had like emotions about things. "Is it even okay for us to be helping out here like it's not like we're necessarily at peak 'health'..." |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's face on the TV screens says to Regulus, "It's not ideal, normally I'd stop by an agent at the Motherlobe... I appreciate it. I could do the same for you, if you wanted!" He offers. "But, you're right. We usually want Psychonauts to be in peak form." However, there's something else... |
| Regulus | "No thanks, I like being mentally unhealthy." Regulus quips back. "But hey, thanks for offering." Even as bad things are right now, she doesn't really want 'help' in dealing with it. She wants Schneider to linger in her brain and heart for a long time. |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's mind contains an oddly vividly green-eyed technician, who has been monitoring things. While Flamel himself is occupied, she leans towards Regulus. "The truth is that nobody has ever helped anyone else 'from far above'." She says, not looking up from her clipboard. "Nobody in perfect mental form wants to help people who need it." She's gone before too much exchange can happen there. |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons's mind is easy to leave, once things are wrapped up. The group has been pleasantly zoning out, in a near-sleeping state, in the suitcase foyer, for an hour or two. And once it's all done, Flamel's expression... seems less exhausted, less pained. The mental machinery is working better now. He can express properly. Mourn a bit more healthily. |
| Regulus | Regulus gives the technician a long look, or rather a short look that is long relative to the amount of time she has left. She manages a, "Huh." before she's whisked out. |
| Riku Asakura | Riku wakes up in the Suitcase, pushing himself up from a laying down position. He looks at himself, remembering he was Geed just a moment ago, but he guesses that was Astral Projected Riku, not the real one. "That was... very strange." |
| Odette Raskins | Odette Raskins resumes following along after catching her breath, checking up on Riku on the way after seeing him so visibly exhausted. She stares at the growing egg once they come across it, though, and she strokes her chin lightly as Regulus asks about whether they should be there. "It's not super out of the question for doctors to help patients recover when they've got bad habits of their own. And we're in a bit of a time crunch.... Maybe? With the plan and all." |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons says, "Most people say it's strange, yeah! But really, it's easier than raw telepathy, I think." |
| Regulus | Regulus says, "Uh, if there's no more questions about the mission, I should probably lie down for a bit since I'm probably not gonna get much sleep once shit starts." |
| Riku Asakura | Riku Asakura agrees with Regulus, "Yeah, I think I could sleep some more after all of that..." |
| Flamel Parsons | Flamel Parsons nods to Regulus. "Go ahead." He says. "If you don't want psychonautry, let me know if you want me to get you a nice bedtime tea or something." He's got camp-counselor-mode on. |
| Regulus | Regulus waves off Flamel's offers, "Um thanks for the offer. If you want to get APPLe tea though, sure?" APPLe is the Gastronaut who makes sure that Regulus gets her treats and has a proper gut microbe balance. |
| Odette Raskins | Odette Raskins says, "Sleep does sound pretty good right about now... Uh. W-wait, APPLe tea is made BY him, right...?"" |
| Regulus | Regulus slooowly turns to face Odette. "..." Because this is a light scene where you try to keep the poses short, you just have to imagine that the elipses is like a page long. "I mean, like, if Flamel wants to give APPLe tea." Regulus says. "The tea APPLe gets me is prepared by APPLe, it is not ... made from APPLe." |
| Riku Asakura | Riku Asakura sighs in relief that the tea APPLe makes is not OF him but by him. |
