Sarracenia      Sarracenia was offered training in...something. She isn't quite sure what really. Princess classes were something she often opted out of growing up, but for some reason this sounded different. So, Sarra is out in the royal garden awaiting the arrival of Arthur Lowell. It is back to its usual state now. Gregory in the plant preservation machine has been placed into one of the guest bedrooms, awaiting the final end of the story.

While she waits, Sarra is taking advantage of the one princess power that she does have. Talking to animals! It hasn't worked quite the same as in the story book yet, though. Animals do come to her and are comfortable around her, and do seem to respond to her like they understand her much in the same way a smart dog or cat might, but so far she hasn't heard one of them speak.

Still, this is therapeutic. She is seated on the short grass by the central fountain of the rainbow flower garden, hand feeding squirrels and bunnies and birds. Her parents are watching from a bench near the door back into the main castle, apparently awed in what they see as a major change in their daughter. She did not care for nature at all before. The graceful and elegant queen has a soft smile on her face. The large and burly king is looking up every now and then from forms and correspondence that are part of the daily lives of royalty that Sarra has never really delved into.
Arthur Lowell > Arthur: Arrive with books

Shameful. Absolutely shameful behavior. Can he really call himself a 'Cool Kid'? Surely he will anyway, but when he arrives, it's a much more muted one than the usual rocket-rides. A simple spirographic gate forms, since he already visited this spot and it hasn't become hostile to him it's valid for fast-travel. And he's got... a sylladex, full of strange literature. "WHAT UP, Y'HIGHNESS." He's rambling, already, as he enters. "What's good, MAJESTIES." He chatters to the king and queen as well, just at a distance. More focus for Sarra, here, today.

He's already depositing the books at the side of the bench as if academician stank is going to infest his body if he doesn't. Titles like 'ROYALY ARCHETYPES: THE WILDCARD AND THE FACECARD', or 'Analysis of the Destruction Through Aspect', or other things like that. "Half this is FIGURING YOU OUT, half this is YOU FIGURING OUT things." He peers at the animals. "We're gonna start with FIGURING YOU OUT. This RECENT? The ANIMALS and stuff?"

He hefts one of the books. 'ASPECTS: Advanced Uquizes for Initial Assessments'. A 'uquiz'? This must be inherited technical terminology from Arthur's world-creation. "We're gonna start with figuring out some CULTIVATED WANTING." He gestures with the book, bouncing it in the air a bit as he points it at her.

"You're gonna tell me something IMPOSSIBLE you want."
Sarracenia      That gate opens and Arthur steps out. He greets with mostly his usual gusto and...birds and furry creatures scatter everywhere that is not toward him. Sarra yelps as well when they scatter, then mmphs softly and looks over. Despite the animals fleeing, she offers Arthur a smile. "Hello Arthur! I am quite excited to learn this 'Princess Class'!" she says as she stands up and dusts her dress off.

Her cheer turns to skepticism and then to deadpan as he drops books and explains the plan. "...do not get me wrong. I appreciate the help but...I suppose I was hoping for more...action-oriented learning? Studying has never been my strong suit." she says, then pokes a finger toward the books. "None of these are bookworlds, are they?" she asks, though it sounds more like seeking an excuse not to read than actual worry.

'We're gonna start with FIGURING YOU OUT. This RECENT? The ANIMALS and stuff?'

Sarra looks around at the animals that have stopped a few dozen feet away. "Yes. It did not start happening until we entered the bookworld and I was apparently endowed with the powers of that world's princess. It seems weaker in the real world, but...animals still seem to understand me and respond in unusual ways."

'You're gonna tell me something IMPOSSIBLE you want.'

Sarra raises an eyebrow at that. "Actually impossible or seemingly impossible?" she asks, then hmms. "Well, there are only two things that might fit either category which I want. Immortality, and a heroic partner." she says, then pauses. "Why is that important?"
Arthur Lowell > Arthur: Explain further

"Ya been WANTING recently." Arthur says, pushing forward a bit and examining the birds. "This started after GREG got TAKEN. Got some WANTING and now you need to WANT MORE. Wanting ENOUGH is the key part." He pops the book and pages through. "You're aiming for... let me think, IMMORTALITY, and a PARTNER... this could be LIFE ASPECT, for the DURATION? BLOOD ASPECT for the CONNECTION, maybe? Hmmm." He turns the pages and shakes his head. "That's a METHOD, dawg. That's HOW you get what you want. The IMMORTALITY gets you to live long enough for something. The HERO LOVER gives you something. What's the SOMETHING here? No METHODS, just..."

He paces a bit, bouncing a hand in the air as he does. "ASPECT is something you WANT SO BAD that the WORLD says, 'Okay.' You gotta WANT, *HARD* though. When I pulled my ASPECT up, it was because I just, you know, LOST A BUNCH OF CONTROL, I wanted to FIX THINGS and MOVE THINGS and CHANGE THINGS. So I wound up pulling SPACE up. I wanted FIXING and MOVING and CHANGING and I," He clenches his fists and wrings them. "I *wanted* it enough that things GAVE WAY. Not just, you know, blasting it out magic-style. It pushes the world."

"Look. Not having Gregory around means you had something before. Now you don't. What was it? Stop, sit down a second, really sit down and close your eyes and think about the feeling you had before, with Gregory. What is that?"

"What's the *impossible thing* you want?"
Sarracenia      Sarra seems so confused by all of this. Self-reflection is also not one of her strong suits. "Methods? Those are just...methods?" she says as he talks. The mention of Blood Aspect makes her cringe. "Please, nothing with blood in it." There are far too many bad implications with something named blood.

As she listens to the rest of what Arthur says, Sarra steadily gets more of a frown. "...a friend. Someone who accepted me as I am and helped me improve in a caring way instead of a hateful and uncaring way. That is what I had with Gregory. So far he is one of only a handful of people who cared enough to take such time."

'ASPECT is something you WANT SO BAD that the WORLD says, 'Okay.' You gotta WANT, *HARD* though. When I pulled my ASPECT up, it was because I just, you know, LOST A BUNCH OF CONTROL, I wanted to FIX THINGS and MOVE THINGS and CHANGE THINGS. So I wound up pulling SPACE up. I wanted FIXING and MOVING and CHANGING and I...I *wanted* it enough that things GAVE WAY. Not just, you know, blasting it out magic-style. It pushes the world.'

Sarra crosses her arms and huffs hotly. "The world does not simply 'give way' for me. I have fought hard and long for every scrap of affection and heroic power I have received! I suppose those are the impossible things I want! To be able to help people! To give them hope in the dark times they all face! And to have friends that care about me and are willing to help and protect me as I try to become a heroic beacon of hope! But...Ugh! -Wanting- it has done nothing! I have worked harder than I ever have in my life toward that goal, and I have...only questionably helped at best! Or people refuse my help when I offer it! Do you know that I tried to befriend Petra when I first met her? And you MUST know how THAT turned out!!"
Arthur Lowell > ==>

Arthur strides forward and puts an arm on Sarra's shoulder when she crosses her arms. "No. *No*. You don't start with 'the world doesn't give me what I want'. That's what Aspect is. It's knowing the world gives it to ya. Even when it's not, it's *knowing* in your gut." He settles on one of the benches. "C'mon. Settle and focus a moment."

"This isn't about believing in yourself. This is about knowing you already have it. This is about knowing Petra *already right now* thinks good enough of you that you don't even need to prove more. This is about knowing that the little shit is *already dealt with*, all the meager little *possible stuff* is already handled, and now you can focus on the *impossible* stuff. Settle in, close those eyes, listen good."

"You already got all the respect and friendship and help you'd want from Petra. From Lilian. They just act like that, as far as you wanna care, they do it for everyone. *Don't*", He puts a hand up. "Don't tell me why I'm wrong. If you want to be Princess of something, then I need to not be wrong. The small stuff is squared away. It's done. Now focus on wanting the impossible." He clenches a fist and points up.

"You want enduring, infinite, absolute kindness and help from the world. Help that doesn't stop, and lets you improve. These animals are coming out to give it because they're tuned in on that, they're the world saying, 'I'll give you a little of what you're asking for because you yelled so loud.'" He pounds a fist into the opposite palm, emphasizing a wild-eyed affirmation. "It's not enough. It didn't *give you enough*. Don't tell me it can't give you more, it gives plenty to some people. Get greedy. *Greedy*. You want everything. All of it. *Forever*. Enough to drown anyone in the way. All of the love and all of the kindness. It doesn't matter what it didn't give you before, doesn't matter what you deserve, doesn't matter how much work you've done, crystalize that infinity and **want** it."

It won't do anything just to want. But that's just the cultivation stage. Arthur will have more to offer.
Sarracenia      Sarra blinks in surprise when that arm lands on her shoulder. She glances at it uncertainly then look at Arthur a bit bewildered. People do not touch her in supportive ways, so it does settle her and focus her for a moment. She huffs softly in confusion and annoyance and takes a seat beside Arthur, arms still crossed.

As she listens to the rest, the princess continues to look confused. When Arthur talks about 'the little shit' she thinks for a moment that he means Petra, but he clarifies his meaning to the small stuff. She is definitely about to object when he puts his hand up. She mmphs softly and a bit poutily. "...Princess...-of- something?" She isn't quite dense enough to think that he means something like 'Princess of Sundew Kingdom'. He means, in her mind at least, a magical girl type of aspect. A certain magical girl is the first to come to her mind. "...like Love?" She doesn't really mean she wants to be Princess of Love, but after hearing how it sounded she wonders if that would be so bad.

'You want enduring, infinite, absolute kindness and help from the world. Help that doesn't stop, and lets you improve. These animals are coming out to give it because they're tuned in on that, they're the world saying, 'I'll give you a little of what you're asking for because you yelled so loud.' It's not enough. It didn't *give you enough*. Don't tell me it can't give you more, it gives plenty to some people. Get greedy. *Greedy*. You want everything. All of it. *Forever*. Enough to drown anyone in the way. All of the love and all of the kindness. It doesn't matter what it didn't give you before, doesn't matter what you deserve, doesn't matter how much work you've done, crystalize that infinity and **want** it.'

That gets fires going in Sarra. She leaps up at the end of the speech, fists clenched and pumped in front of her. "That is all I have -ever- wanted from this or any other world!!" she exclaims loudly enough that it echoes a bit around the garden and startles some of the animals. "I have been picturing what that would be like ever since I was a small girl! To be adored and showered with kindness! The...the spreading kindness and hope aspect is a bit new, but I do want to do that as well! I do not want anyone to feel like I feel so much of the time! I want people to have their heroes and feel safe and loved!"

By the time she finishes her declarations her fists are thrust into the air. But...she deflates a few moments later. "...but, my efforts, my 'wanting'...I do not want people to be hurt because of me. Gregory...he would not have been lost if...if I had not wanted..." Her arms lower and she hugs them around herself. "...and so many people in the City...they were lost because of things I did to try and help them."

Her one visible eye glistens and tears start to flow down her cheeks. "I once did not care who was hurt by my actions. I have not been able to live in such a way for a few years now. Not since someone asked about how many soldiers and sailors were lost in one of my more frivilous operations."
Arthur Lowell > Arthur: Help with the aim, just not stability

"Where I come from, the Royalty Archetype gets all kind'a Aspects." Arthur explains further, when prompted. "The classes for that are 'Bard' and 'Prince'. It's the wildcards and the faces. And their function is 'Destroyer', but," Another hand up. "Before you get all fucked up about it, it's 'destruction of aspect' or 'destruction using aspect'. We've heard all kind'a stuff. 'Prince of Doom' who could tear misfortune out of people. But I'm getting the feeling," He turns a few pages in the book he had, moving to a far-back appendix. "That 'princess', for you, is actually nearly an *Heir* class, the Magician archetype with the change-aspect or change-with-aspect function. Which adds up because right now, your opposite is super Witch-type." What the hell does any of THAT mean?

We'll get to that later. For now, the fire is going...

"So the world hit back when you demanded too much. That doesn't mean stop wanting." He says, in even tones, trying to keep her spirits a little more lifted. "Doesn't mean settle. It means you gotta want deeper. Pull further into the core of it. You," He starts to pace as he speaks. "You can't let this get you down, you can't let the small stuff sweat you. Gregory wanted you to grow. Growing means becoming *big*. Bigger than this small stuff. Think about what he wanted too. Pull that strand into what you want." He returns to her side, putting the hand on the shoulder again.

"If your people dying means you weren't getting what you want, then what you want should mean they never die. If wanting to help out in the City got it hurt, then what you want should mean you have an infinite well to give back to them and make it up to them. But focus, *focus* on wanting the impossible. The *impossible*. A friend, a hero, a staff, an *army* that can never let you down and will always treat you gentle and kind and *move mountains* for you when you ask."

He gives one or two pats. "Won't come easy while you're fresh off getting smacked in the mouth with this Gregory stuff. But that's what you need to be doing. I'm starting to get a clearer idea of what we're working with here. Close to an Heir of Breath or Blood -- that's *bonds* not death* -- or maybe an Heir of Light or Heir of Heart. 'Princess of Bonds'... Well, It's all about," He clasps the free hand firmly into an emphatic grip. "*Kindness* without *cost*. You had it there, for a moment. An infinite kindness that doesn't cost anything, forever, for you and for however many other people you can get it. We get you in the right spot and that'll come shining through like a bonfire. Just need to get you some fuel."

He pulls back, getting some of his literature again. "Listen. I want you to try to keep that fire going. Keep some of that wanting going sometimes. I've still gotta see Alina and work on some crafts, but we're on a start here."
Sarracenia      Sarra is still confused by all the talk of archetypes and aspects, but she thinks she -might- get some of it? Maybe? "Well, of course Heir makes sense. I am literally a crown princess. The Sundew Kingdom will be mine to rule one day." The words Doom and Blood still make her wince a bit, even if they are resulting in positive things. "I suppose if that is what it ends up being, but...I would still rather avoid such words." The word witch also makes her wince a bit. "Well, that is good. Witches in magical girl terms are quite bad." Arthur hasn't mentioned magical girls, but it is helping Sarra wrap her brain around all of this.

The world hit back. Sarra lets out a sniffle. Hit back seems so inadequate for what happened. But, Arthur does well in his galvanizing speech. Sarra recovers a bit thinking about how Gregory did want her to grow. He wanted the best for her. He wanted her supported. And, she realizes, her parents want her to have these things as well. She doesn't think about it most of the time because they tend to stay out of her way. Sarra looks over at them, and they look back at her as if agreeing with Arthur. "...never give up. That is something I have lived by. No matter how many people tell me I don't deserve something or will never get it."

'*Kindness* without *cost*. You had it there, for a moment. An infinite kindness that doesn't cost anything, forever, for you and for however many other people you can get it. We get you in the right spot and that'll come shining through like a bonfire. Just need to get you some fuel.'

Sarra's fists return to pumped position. "...yes, I cannot lose that. Kindness. Support. For me and for everyone. Without cost. Kindness and support. For me and everyone, without cost." Sarra starts repeating it, pacing about, using it like a mantra to try and stoke her fires.

"Alina..." Her mantra chanting stops. "...she really owes us some answers. She might be as responsible as anyone else for what happened to Gregory. She said herself that she..." Sarra blinks, then mmphs. "No, today is about this...aspect stuff." She returns to her temporary mantra and pacing as Arthur goes through literature.
Arthur Lowell > ==>

"We're gonna look for a focus. 'Costless kindness' needs at least one key small thing to start you out." Arthur explains. "First year or so after I hit my Aspect, I had to use a Gate I stole. Took me a long while before I could make my own. So we're gonna look for an infinite kindness you can get in small ways. But," He peers at the animals. "We've got hints so far. The nature angle is a good one. The kingdom angle too. Gonna be a bit before we can get this set up."

"I know Alina might be part of this. No clue how deep that talerot goes." Arthur mutters the word grimly. "Leave that to me. It's my job to contain that, I'll talk it out with her and figure out what's what." Some head-shaking. "But once you've got that *wanting* in you... we'll get that Aspect out somehow."
