Yunomi Stadler     THE EDGE OF GRUUL TERRITORY -- RAVNICA

Deep below, where sunlight filteres through great cracks in the poorer sections of Ravnica above, long since overdue for its cleaning and rebuilding is the edge of the Gruul Clans' lands. A mix of rotting city and reclaiming nature, thorny brambles wrap around support pillars, joining one another overhead as a canopy where small birds flit back and forth between streaks of light. It's hot and moist, steam pouring out from boken pipes above. Accessed down a ladder only two feet wide, but several hundred feet long -- and straight down -- Yunomi waits at a stone 'landing pad' with a pack over her back, her ears pressed forward and her tail curling slightly.
Cheyanne "City and nature wound 'round one another; to the point one cannot tell from the other." As usual for her Cheyanne seems to come out of thin air, standing just behind the tanuki in a space that one would swear was empty mere moments before. Somewhat impressive that there is a ladder involved getting down here. Or maybe she just found a way to teleport closer to the natural aspects that have overgrown the undercity. May never be known for sure.
Marrik Marrik knew nothing of Ravinica's politics, regions, or who owns what turf. He would like to at some future point, but tourist type exploration would have to wait til after they de-spidered the sewers. Just before climbing down he checked the magicked red lacquered mask for a third time. Deep breath.

Of course hesitation was silly here. He's been in sewers before, he has allies to help on the cleanup, and running into some cult or other was unlikely. When he got down to the stone landing area he moved to one side before tilting his head a little at Yunomi. "Huh. You're shorter than I thought. Live and learn." He stood relaxed, with his hands just outside his coat pockets, and then grunted in irritation as he skid a head lam out of his pocket. "Sorry I only brought one," This said apologetically as he adjusted the strap so it would stay on his head, but not dig the mask into his ski.
Kirika Elves, bluster, vapid one-liners, it's the usual bullshit with the Union bands. Kirika spend the entire ride by airship-taxi listening to this jabber about how x fucked up relations with y and now war has been declared and so forth. She's uncharacteristically irritated as all hell, and she grips her sword's scabbard tightly as she steps off the vehicle and approaches Cheyanne, Yunomi, and Marrik.

The first she knows and can count on as a fellow warrior, the second she has heard...things...and the third...well. Her opinion on necromancers has been pretty shitty just from experience alone, not to mention ancient historical fact in her world.

When the jabber on the radio gets too much, she grabs her earpiece and rips it free from the radio itself, throwing the bud over the edge of the landing pad in a huff, her tail stiff and her ears twitching as she lets out a frustrated grunt.

"Let's just get this over with. Where do we need to go, and what are we killing?" She asks Yunomi directly, her eye twitching as well.

She REALLY needs to work off some steam right now, and she doesn't care what she has to hit until the rage simmers.
Yunomi Stadler     Yunomi glances up, and then down at herself, then up at Marrik again.

"Judge me by my size, do you?" she inquires politely, and gives a smile. Cheyanne gets a great smile, reaching over to grip a hand in greeting to the Zebra. "It's good to see you again, Ravnica benefits from steady allies!" she grins, and then she turns to Kirika, and she gives a wry smile. "Right to the point." she states.

She grips her hands together, a little mana gathering, and then she opens up her palm, and gives it a blow of air. There's a shimmer, before a sheet forms in front of them -- an image, carved in colorful magic.

Yunomi begins explaining, a spider like an orb weaver showing, a great bulbous behind and long spindly legs, colored like a tiger made of flame. "This is a flame spider -- I've found them before in aqueducts harassing techs who go down to work in the systems, but this is the first time we've found any sign of them here in the Gruul clan lands."

THe image changes, forming a complex line of pipes, with the route traced out in bright red.

"We're going to go through this section here where there has been a lot of webbing, and see if there's anything there."
Kirika     Well, Kinugiri ain't Sting; Bane of Spiders, but it's got its own little qualities. Kirika observes the hologramish image with rapt attention, listening to Yunomi's briefing as she rests a hand on the pommel of her katana as she pops her neck. "Are they foreign in nature by chance?" She asks, trying to figure out how these things got here. It's not like they hid in fruit baskets or something.

"And the webs themselves, I assume they are fire reistant?" She taps Kinugiri's pommel pointedly, tugging the blade out of its sheath slightly to reveal an icy aura and runes glowing bright blue with ice magic. Logical weakness, right?
Cheyanne Cheyanne gives Yunomi's hand a greeting squeeze in return, but keeps things quick and to the point since they are essentially on business down here. As for the comment about only having one light she just gives Marrik a bit of a wry grin. "Worry not, light shall not be an issue." She taps the butt of her staff to the ground and with an igniting fwoosh a glowing ball manifests between the horns of the monster skull that tops it. It looks like a bulb of fire but there's only light here, not any burning. Unless the shaman actually wills it to burn.

She regards the magic map for a moment, then gives a nod of her head. "Then by all means, lead the way."
Marrik Marrik was about to reassure Yunomi he has confidence in her skills when she did a nifty bit of illusion magic. A low whistle let out as he studied their target..Then when the pipe diagram was shown he held up a hand in attempt to forestall another transition or possibly banishment while his other hand jiggled a pocket on his coat. This caused a bubblegum pink haired barbie sized pixie to climb out and frown at him.

"We're on the clock. Mind looking at that?" Marrik's voice was soft and he held his hand so Sparks could walk out onto it. The Pixie scrunched her nose and pulled a tiny c from her leather jacket. After a few moments she nodded once and dove feet first back into the pocket she climbed out of.

"Sorry, Sparks isn't a fan of sewers."
Yunomi Stadler     "Sewers? Did I see sewers? I meant 'access tunels' if I did." Yunomi defends herself. "The flames don't seem to be fire resistant, nor are the spiders. Like I said, 'flame' is a bit of a misleading misnomer. They spit a fluid that ignites upon oxidation rather than straight-off fire like most dragons and mother-in-laws." Yunomi smiles, and she collapses her illusionary display board, and reaches for her pack again.

"Any other questions before we begin?" she inquires, and brings her hand up to a section of the pipe. A little blue mana, and the pipe opens with a rocky groan and the sliding section exposes a clean, with slightly slick interrior. There's a little bit of heat wave to the air.
Cheyanne "They sound not like the biting kind, but I have brought antivenom potions just to be precautious." Cheyanne makes her way up into the pipe once the entrance is open, ducking slightly and holding her staff at an angle in front of her to illuminate the way. With the other hand she gives a brief waving gesture as she murmurs under her breath, using her elemental magics to try and lighten the steam mist a little for her companions. Last thing they need is to not be able to see clearly ahead considering what they're hunting after.
Marrik Marrik hand raises, "How likely are we going to end up in a gas pocket?" Other than double checking the pocket Sparks slipped back into he seemed ready to go. Yet he seemed in no hurry to get moving, mostly because this was somebody else's back yard and he was the guy with two left feet, no matter his prior experience. An eyebrow raise, no matter that nobody else can see it, at the pipe opening. "I'm good. They go squash if you hit them and it's just the acid spit that's a problem ya?"
Kirika     Kirika looks into the tunnel entrance before she proceeds to lower her hood, climbing into the tunnels with a graceful leap. The correction from Yunomi helps resassure her, at the least these things aren't immune to the number one deterrent to infestations: GLORIOUS HOLY FIRE.

Once she's in, she begins to climb or control-slide her way down depending on how the tunnels are laid out, until she can reach solid ground to tread upon.
Yunomi Stadler     Solid is relative; as is safety. The Izzet don't have too many precautions when it comes to others it appears, but between Cheyanne's light and a little crystal on Yunomi's armor brightening, there's at least enough light. The pipe smells like fermentation, and Yunomi visually recoils from the smell with a distrustful look on her fae.

"Procede carefully." she warns, sliding a bit to the side. "I don't trust that smell."

There's a hissing up ahead -- might be a broken steam vent. Might be something else. It's definately clicking though.
Cheyanne Once she's certain the immeadiate passage is clear Cheyanne allows Yunomi to take the lead. This is the tanuki's mission after all. She's just here to make sure they don't all die or get horribly poisoned or such. You know, typical mysterious mentor type things. Though she's not really all that mysterious and more just quirky.
Kirika     Kirika draws Kinugiri without hestiation as she makes it into the tunnel path itself, the blade glowing a blazing red now with runs lining all across both sides of the sacred blade. She narrows her eyes, summoning a sphere of light to illuminate the path further as she gives Yunomi a grave nod, her extremely keen senses enough to get a whiff that direction. "Be vigilant."
Marrik The smell was there, but muted to the point of being easy to ignore, and was probably one of the downsides of the mask Marrik wore. His ears worked good enough for him to give a look over at the clicking noise though and he made a worried noise back at it before moving on. It's a good thing one of the first spells he learned was to clean stains out of clothes because otherwise he'd have to burn everything he was wearing. There were no words, since he was split between trying to keep an eye out for what was around, and trying not to fall. Oh well, they needed to cut the chatter anyway. Work to be done.
Yunomi Stadler     Yunomi slides up to the wall, and then rounds the cornor, spinning on her heel to confront the --

Hissing, broken steam vent, with a necklace made of wood clacking against the pipe.

    CLACK CLACK! CLick! CLACK!

The necklace looks to be made out of woven cord, its wooden beads lopsided and unevenw ithout a closer look.

    "... huh." Yunomi replies.
Cheyanne Cheyanne turns the corner after Yunomi, only to take pause when the sound turns out to actually be something that somehow got lost down in the sewer and an actual hissing vent rather than a spider waiting to pounce. "... It is not often things really are as mudane as they could be."

All the same the zebra woman is cautious as she steps closer to look at the necklace. "Lost down the pipes? Or... what remains of a previous victim?"
Kirika     "it's never that simple." muses Kirika, her tail swishing side to side as she tightens her grip upon her blade. Her ears remain perked and alert, keeping trained for skittering of legs or whatever object these spiders may knock aside in their path as she eyes the necklace as well.
Marrik Marrik was already moving cautiously because he didn't know the layout. Yunomi's necklace clicking wasn't helping him stay loose. Ah well. Focus where he could.
Yunomi Stadler     Yunomi purses her lips.

The necklace is made from woven straw, and on its wooden beads are several Japanese characters -- rope, vision, pride, and fire.

The Tanuki hangs back a moment, hesitant to go any further before she takes a breath, and comes around the side of them. "Well. At least we found one of the leaks." she mutters, and goes to mark it on a map.
Marrik Marrik gave a curt nod to Yunomi before reaching out with his senses. The rest of the party would see his left hand make a series of gestures as hair fine threads reached out. Finding anything lingering out there didn't feel likely, but it was what he could do to help until fighting needed doing. His magic was less compulsion and more a simple hello to see if anything felt like answering. He tried making it non-threatening and ignorable, but who knew how ghosts and spirits would take such from the living.

For that matter who knew how the rest of the party would take it.
Kirika     LKirika curiously enough can definitely understand the script, funny how languages synch up together sometimes. She keeps a good distance from Marrik as he fiddles about, all the while remaining on guard as she holds her sword close by should spiders come by to greet the four.
Cheyanne "It never is, and that is why we are thankful when it is, but remain wary all the same," Cheyanne replies to Kirika in a sagely yet slightly tongue-in-cheek tone. She reachs over to lightly take the necklace off the vent, though the runes on the beads are not in a style that makes sense to her.

She is about to ask Yunomi about it, but her attention snaps to Marrik as he starts to do his thing. Her ears cup upright and she looks like she's about to say something... but seems to think better of it, not wanting to interrupt his 'questioning' of the local spirits if there are any. Instead she just makes a soft hmming noise, nostrils flaring briefly with it.
Yunomi Stadler     Yunomi can feel the "knock on the walls" and she finishes a patch on the pipe, her ears swiviling up and forward, her tail curling as she glances to the ceiling of the pipe. The hissing and clacking has stopped, making it dead silent inside of the access way.

AH, but Marrik's magic is listening for things that ears cannot hear.

And the response comes in a rumble of rolling heads, eyes staring sightlessly, falling down on top og giants asleep, the taste of blood and the memory of feeling fiery warmth spreading from one's bodily center outwards, a dizzying shift in perspective and sudden cold, like ice water being poured down a spinal collumn from the inside.

Punctuated by a soft 'there you are, little flower'
Marrik Marrik made a very soft eep sound as he tried to find something other than the almost alien feeling presence. "That is certainly not good." His voice was still soft as he attempted to make sense of the impressions he connected to. "What is down here?" He hadn't realized he asked that aloud or that he sounded afraid of what he might have accidentally gotten the attention of. His body was tense and his eyes unfocused. His other hand moved and the gentle hello turned into an assertive 'We are not Food. We are simply passing through. No need to bother eachother.'

Yet there was a slight tremor to his movements. Something had him spooked.
Cheyanne Cheyanne shakes off the slightly disorientation at Marrik's casting and tucks the necklace away in one of her belt pouches. The tone of voice he comes back to awareness with is not comforting either way however. "We should not linger in one spot longer than we have to."
Kirika     Kirika's neckhairs stand on end as she feels a bitter chill run up her spine, the kitsune shivering thanks to that spell before she reorients herself and nods to Cheyanne. "You'll have no arguement from me." She says grimly, prepared for the worst to come.
Yunomi Stadler     Yunomi looks to Cheyanne, and gives a small nod.

"Yeah, keep pressing forward. I'll take point.

And she starts walking into the darkness, the blue gem on her armor brightly glimmering in the dark.

THe tunnel continues on, the only sound that comes up are their footsteps -- and the first of the webs appear. A Rat Of Unusual Size is trapped in one, mummified and... dry. A husk, with only its face and teeth caught in the light.

Yunomi side-steps the web, and steps on, cautiously, bringing one hand down, balling it loosely into a fist.

THe sound of rushing water and hissing steam begins to tickle the ears.
Marrik Marrik frowned and cut contact before pressing forward. He had both hands free, as decay would be a better weapon here than fire, or at least more controllable in his hands. When he saw the webbing he frowned at it and looked to Yunomi, "Should I clear this or leave it be?" A thumb jerk at the webbing.
Cheyanne Cheyanne pauses to regard the rat in the webbing for a moment, frowning slightly. It took a very big or a very lethal creature to be able to hunt of such animals. "Prehaps it is because of the potential prey the spiders came down here?" Idly she pushes a curtain of webbing aside with her staff so they don't get stuck up in it as they continue. "Though I believe what these webs could do to the underworkings of the city is of concern as well."
Yunomi Stadler     "Maybe... or safety." Yunomi considers a few things, coming to a huge turn in the system... and then she pauses.

    "... oh wow." she whispers.

The meeting of urban decay and natural reclaimation meet, thick vines curling up supports. Fading sunlight comes from a grand, round hole in a forgotten plaza above like a subterannian sun.

There are long stairwells, made of stone and slick with algae and moss. Steam errupts from a long tube overhead, water dripping from the ceiling where moss hangs.

A water mane provides a cascade to a rocky pool created from broken tiles and rotting concrete. Twisting metal from fallen pipes provides a rusting basin for smaller cascades, with a fine mist hanging in the air. A pocket of jungle in the midst of a rotting cityscape.

And everywhere there are webs. Great webs, carefully constructed connecting pipes. Thick, sticky strands hold captured birds or rats nearly the size of their tanuki host -- in her human form.

Thorny wasps are stuck, mummified, their steely stingers still shining in the light offered by the opening above.

But other than a flock of rock doves flitting about below the webs, it appears that everything here is still.
Cheyanne Cheyanne holds her staff up to help illuminate the next room... though it becomes a mute point when it turns out the chamber has a forgotten opening overhead. The frown doesn't leave her features though as she lowers her staff back to resting at her side, the no longer needed light-flame snuffing itself out.

"I think we found their home... but not comforted by them being gone..."
Marrik Marrik shook his head slowly. "This is setting basically every hair I've got on end." He flicked his head lamp off and continued looking about. "This doesn't square with what I felt earlier. Think whatever it was moved." Of course that could be just a lingering spirit, but that made no sense to him since animal ghosts tended to disperse almost immediately. "Yunomi. Are these flame spiders intelligent?" It just made no bloody sense to him. Something was missing, and his body language was nervous, very nervous.
Kirika     Kirika stares with eyes wide at the habitat, dawning horror all over her face.

"It's just a matter of time before they return..." She murmurs under her breath, wary of the hive as she intensifies the light a little eminating from her palm while she edges closer towards a concentration of webbing, her flaming blade held ready.
Yunomi Stadler     Yunomi's very quiet as she looks up to the web network, her mouth slightly agape. Her eyes go wide, her eyebrows rising up as she looks over the massive habbitat.

And then she looks to the others. "No. Flamespiders aren't sapient." she states.

And she begins to lift off the ground.

"... and I don't think these are flame spiders."

She slowly flies up to investigate some of the webbing above them.

There's a chittering sound above them.

And the tapping of claws against hard tile.

"It seems the little flower has brought some delicious looking friends!" hisses a voice above the three.
Marrik Marrik grunted as he slid into a ready stance. "Where do I focus?" Threads of power unspooled from his fingertips and hung loose and ready. Funny, now that the chance he likely was about to get into a fight he appeared to relax.f
Then the voice spoke and his teeth bared. Yet he held his magic back. It wouldn't have been able to build all these webs alone, would it?
Cheyanne As the voice chitters from overhead Cheyanne merely tilts her head back to look up, squinting a bit to try and see through the webbing. Mutant intellgent spiders? Driders? What could it possibly be? Regardless she grips her staff in both hands, the crystal beneath the skull starting to glow faintly, illuminating the eye sockets. "Eating I would strongly suggest you not do," she replies to the 'voice', "Lest you bite off more than you can chew."
Kirika     "I've heard that before," Kirika says towards the voice. "And the result has always been the same."

She levels her sword out, the blazing edge pointed up high. "I've slain many a creature such as you, today shall be no different." Her voice is tinged with barely contained fury, pent-up frustration that's just ACHING for a target to vent upon. A good hunt like this shall do /perfect/ for her needs.
Yunomi Stadler     As the three look up, preparing for battle, they would find a spider that shares the color of fire, with long black legs marked with bright red joints. But the jarring thing... is that the spider has a human head. Long, slightly tangled black hair, a slender moon-white face and black as night eyes. Long fangs are shown in a gruesome smile as she decends on webbing the width of yarn. Spinnerettes turn, working the material as she settles against the wall, forelegs against the archway of the door they just came from.

"Such brazen claims." she comments, other spiders with human heads -- all women's heads -- drop from the ceiling, from inches wide to three, four, five feet in diameter -- but the one speaking, her legs splay out to nearly twelve feet. All in all, there are perhaps sixty spiders here.

"And here we thought we were welcome in Rav-Ni-Kah." she lilts, each syllable in the cityworld's name making her tic her head back and forth.
Marrik Marrik scowled at the sudden arrival of the rest of the nest. "Right then." Threads that lay slack sprang out in several directions. The movements Marrik made were short, swift, and to the point as he moved in place. Power twitched as he tried to infect those that he touched with fast acting and painful diseases. Yet he was trying to make these plagues as difficult to spread as possible. It simply would not do if they won here, yet lost because a dozen super plagues tore through the city. No retorts, No one liners. Just a man trying to focus on killing as much of the brood as possible.
Cheyanne Cheyanne's features set into a stoic 'all business' but otherwise calm expression, the shaman's typically unflappable resolve coming to the surface almost immeadiately. " 'Welcome' does not constitute infesting the undercity, not to mention the previous implication of intentions to taste," is the flat reply she gives.

The trio standing near her would feel it, a rising in the air around them. But none of them are at risk, as by the time the spirals of air have reached enough strength they're spinning away from the group, essentially putting them in the calmed 'eye' of the vortex. "Your fangs shall not find meat tonight. Begone your threat from our sight."

The cycle of rushing air moves outward from the shaman and her allies with dual purpose, to blow back any of the spiders that attempt to outright jump on the group, and to blow apart their webbings to deny them the advantage of such easy movement for themselves.
Kirika     Kirika just stares where she hears the voice coming from, remaining still even as the wind blows her cloak all about without a flinch. She tightens her grip on Kinugiri, before she assumes a fighting stance, gripping her sword in both hands as she raises it high and ready, "Know that you face death, should you face us, foul arachnids!"
Yunomi Stadler     "Tsssh -- a single nest in a large place, with enough room to catch prey is /hardly/ an infestation my little --"

And the threats register. The giant spider gives a hiss, fangs drooling in a venomous grimace as the winds kick up, knocking weaker webs into the air, flying away on the breeze.

Smalelr spiders give squeals, hith-pitched shrieks and cling to their larger siblings. Spiders put out more webbing, clinging to walls, bunding in their great webs to hold on as the wind kicks up. cries ring out, filling the void with calls to their mother, who looks out, horrified.

"NO! PLEASE! Guardian! /TELL THEM TO STOP!/!" she calls out.

And Yunomi panics, and she flies down, catching a flailing baby spider in the process as she comes back to the beginning of the chamber.

"Cheyanne! Marrik! Kirika -- set down arms! They're not going to hurt us!"
Cheyanne Almost instantly at Yunomi's shouting the air flow shifts, catching anything that was initially blown free by it and lightly depositing it to the ground as it dies away. The shaman's finess with the elements is that precise, shifting from heavy winds to gentle breeze with no more than a thought.

After which Cheyanne sights softly, head inclined slightly to pinch the bridge of her muzzle between two fingers. "Apologies, but with it a word to the wise. A less hostile greeting I would greatly advise."
Marrik Marrik checked mid-motion and pulled his magic back. Deep breath as he looked about. In this he was glad he had gone with disease rather than flat out decay. "Threats are not a good way to open talks." His voice held a bit of tremor as he looked to Yunomi. "If we can peacefully talk I will do what I can to undo the infections." His offer was sincere, yet he was still weary, slightly afraid, and held his magic ready. "We will get to talk peace, yes?"
Kirika     ALways gotta play the kids card...

A sigh. Kirika relents after a pause, sheathing her blade after a moment before she sheepishly bows her head. "My apologies, but the others do have a point regarding visitors. What exactly is the problem, here?" She asks, straightening out her coat as she tries to keep her shame from showing. Oh god this is why you don't go into these things angry...
Yunomi Stadler     Yunomi looks up to the Spider, and gently sets the several inches-wide spiders down, gently letting one web down from her fingers. There's still a couple on her back or in her ahir, childish faces staring out at the others in the room with little mouths agape.

"O-Hiko." she states, and makes a deep bow.

A spider slides off ehr back, and skitters back into the webbing.

"Daughter of O-Asahi, true friend and most wise scion of the sun." O-Hiko replies, and she drops down to the platform.

"ALlow me to introduce my associates -- Cheyanne the Shaman, Marrik the Necromancer, and Kirika --"

"Rude underlings. Unbecoming of your good mother, but given your father I am unsurprised." The great spider replies, then clears her throat.

"When Namamura was lost to the invaders, many who lived below the ground and in the highest peeks also sought escape, my children and I escaped as well, curled up in a ball of cloth; I do not think we would be as welcome into the Iss-eeto as the humans and bakemono who dwell in the little shrine there."
Marrik Marrik frowned and slid his mask off. It would not be needed as there was clearly plenty of ventilation, and it might help if he shows them his face. "For what it is worth ma'am I am sorry and if you will allow me," Slowly he started to gather power. "It will hurt, but it is simply tanking back what I have done." He would be annoyed if it was him in her position, but they did make big huge threatening gestures. "We were called down here because flame spiders." Swallow. He was mildly uncomfortable, both because things had /almost/turned into a bloodbath, and because he did not like the residual from contact earlier.
Cheyanne Cheyanne's nostils flare with a faint snort at that, but they did kind of deserve it for jumping the gun like that. Blame it on all the years spent delving dungeons and things tending to jump you first with little other concern. So not really room to complain.

Putting that aside she rested her staff on the floor and using the other arm to make a short but polite bow. "You have our apologies for the misunderstanding.." And kinda gives Marrik a sidelong glance as she rights herself. It's one of those 'just what -did- you do?' sort of looks you usually see from teachers and other elder figures.
Kirika     Kirika has nothing to say, short of a mumbled 'Forgive us...' as she listens to O-Hiko exposit. Seems they were refugees from the whole Saiyan PTE takeover of Nanamura a while back...
Yunomi Stadler     "/I/ will be quite fine, given time and a little dinner. There is only one force yet that has ever best O-Hiko, the Spider of Visions." she chitters, proudly, and straightens herself up. "Apologies accepted, you travel with the guardian of my home and for that you are... pardoned from misunderstanding."

She gives that fangy smile again. "I beleive one of you carries something precious to me. One of my children was playing pranks and misplaced it."

Yunomi's ears go up. "Oh! The necklace. I knew I remembered it from somewhere."
Marrik "I'll explain later," Marrik grumbled sourly. It was good work as far as he was concerned, but still. Lot of jumping into things by both sides. Yet he had promised to do what he could for those from Nanamura. Nevermind at the time emotions were high on all sides, it was still word he had given, and this is the first he had seen any from that place.

Frankly he was somewhere between mortified, and frightened how things might have gone if he had decided to try straight entropy rather than cause pain. All it would have taken was one child disintegrating to have lingering problems not just with the drieders, but also their guardian. "What of your brood? are they as resilliant?" Worry replaced fear as he looked to the smaller spider-people.
Cheyanne "... Ah! Yes." Cheyanne reached into her pouch and carefully removed the necklace. "I was concerned it was from a victim." She took a few steps forward and held up her hand to offer it to the spiderwoman. "I am quite glad that is not the case that had it left behind there.
Yunomi Stadler     "We are very hardy. One does not simply be a spider and be suffered by... less fortunate people."

Yunomi smiles, but leans up to Marrik, whispering conspiritally loud so that Cheyanne and Kirika can hear as well.

"O-Hiko's venom is a powerful narcotic and hallucinagen."

The great spider reaches out, and accepts the wooden jewelery with a toothy smile, and when she slips it on -- her form changes.

In lieu of the great spider, with the wide-reaching grasp, there is a woman, wearing a fiery red kimono. Several wide, silk sashes are wrapped around her waist, forming an X of trailing silk behind her, akin to a spider's legs.

She folds her arms into her sleeves, and gives another toothy smile to the group.

    "As for the... lesser spiders."

Another very, very wide and toothy grin is issued.

"We could not tolerate their presence."
Cheyanne A ring pierced ear flicks slightly at the 'whisper', but if anything Cheyanne looks just slightly amused by it. As someone well versed in the both beneficial and ill ways of nature, this probably was not a tremendous revelation to her. "Well, I guess that takes care of that problem as well then."
Marrik Marrik quirked an eyebrow but merely shrugged at Yunomi. A small bow to O-Hiko and a deep breath, "I am glad no lasting harm is done." Then a look over to Yunomi, "So what do we do? They're your people." He'd suggest trying to integrate them with the wider population, but as varied as the troll market he had as his home his own response was probably very telling. "As long as we are here ma'am is there anything we can do for you?"
Yunomi Stadler     "Hmm.... I suppose duping unwanted down here is entirely out of the question--"

"The agreement stands, O-Hiko. No human prey." Yunomi warns.

And the spider just blinklessly smiiiiiles.

"... well. I can't change an ecosystem. I'll see what I can do on my end." Yunomi ventures, and heaves a sigh.

"But... as for what we can do, we can't interfere. IT's Gruul territory, but as long as you and your children stay in here, I don't think there'll be much trouble."
Marrik Marrik nodded slowly at Yunomi. "Too much I don't know to have any good ideas." A thousand and one things he wanted to ask, mostly because spidersilk rope took a great deal of labor to harvest and his suppliers were looking for better sources.
