Tetra     It's Monday morning in Tokyo's Kamurocho district, after a night of partying, karaoke, and toy cars--and, for Tetra, arcade games. The exhausted-looking adventurer trudges through the streets; in her mind's eye, a little pod-shaped craft with angel wings and feet shoots a giant pumpkin, while the dulcet tones of The Offspring echo in the background from a nearby driving game.

Eventually, she arrives at the place Majima pointed her at--Cafe Alps. Looking slightly zombie-ish, she shuffles up to the counter and slaps some yen haphazardly in front of the clerk. "Gimme the largest coffee you have."

A pause. "... Please." She's not beat enough to forget her manners.
Katt Unlike Tetra, Katt did not go quite as hard on the arcade games. No, she made mistakes of her own - mistakes like staying with the booze and the food a little (or a lot) too long, and then half-threatening, half-offering to fight anybody who wanted some until she wandered off to crash face-first into a bed that wasn't hers for a few hours.

That was then. This is now:

A couple minutes after Tetra enters, the door to the Cafe slams open with just a little bit too much force, and Katt (who just shoved it open with her shoulder) enters. She looks awake, at least, if not quite operating at one hundred percent.

She looks around the place, closes the door with a lot more care than she opened it when she realizes that this is not the kind of place you slam doors. "Hey!" she says to Tetra, as she gets to order something herself. "I thought you'd be here already."
Tetra     Katt, at least, slept. Tetra did not. She perks up just slightly, a little bit of that fire returning to her eyes at the familiar face. "Katt. I understand you had a similarly restless night." She brushes a stray lock out of her eyes, leaning on the waiting area counter.

She smiles lightly. "What did you get up to? I, ah... spent my whole night at that Sega place," she sheepishly explains. "The 'video games' they have here are remarkably engrossing, and I would bet they make quite a lot of money on them..." Her order comes up, a comically large cup. She takes a sip. "Certainly made a lot from me."
Katt Katt is generally kind of a high-energy girl. She doesn't need a lot of sleep. Usually.

"Yes, I stayed up until I couldn't," Katt says, with no shame. "I stayed there for a while - they had sushi and drinks, so of course I did, and it was fun to play with the cars. Then I went, uh, out. You know." She waves a hand in no direction in particular.

Katt also apparently likes her coffee sweet, judging by the mocha that she just ordered. It is a comparable size to Tetra's, though it seems to be taking an extra minute or two to make. "I didn't go to the Sega place though. Video games, huh? I never did much with them... Wait, how much did they charge you for it?" She leans absently on her staff, though it's more of a habit than a necessity - she's not unsteady today, but she's holding the thing and she needs to do something with it.
Tetra     Tetra takes a deep swig off her coffee, then moves over to the cream-and-sugar table to add a heavy dose of cream, stirring it as she talks. "Yes, that sushi was fantastic. I don't believe Mr. Majima opened my wine... it will be interesting to see what he does with it." She quirks an eyebrow at Katt's vague 'out'ness, but doesn't question it further at the moment.

"These machines charge per-play... 100 or 200 yen on the high end, I believe it was? It all blurred together somewhat in the end." She squints at nothing in particular as she remembers, before moving over to take a seat at a table, nudging the other seat out with her foot for Katt.

"Sounds like you had a more fun night than I did, though. 'out'." She rests her chin on her hand, and the corners of her lips turn upward slightly, the black brew already giving her a bit of energy.
Katt "It's just wine, isn't it?" Katt doesn't know a lot about wine, other than 'sometimes it is very expensive'. Maybe it was one of those. "...old wine?" she corrects herself. "And yeah, I haven't had fish done that way before? But I liked it."

Once she has acquired her drink, Katt drops down into the seat offered to her, propping her staff up next to her She slides it back into place with a scraping sound. "One hundred yen doesn't sound too bad. You can show me sometime. I want to see the games too... but now's probably not a great time."

Her grin returns. "Well, I did have a lot of fun. It was nice to meet people, you know? And everything else. I miiiight have gotten into a fight afterwards - not a serious one though." Well, that explains what she was doing.
Tetra     "It's about a century old, from one of the finest wineries in Hyrule." She grins a little more. "I earned it from a particularly grateful nobleman a few years ago. As for sushi... it's a food I'm quite glad seems to be a multiversal staple." Tetra takes another sip, looking more energized.

"I'd greatly enjoy showing you sometime, though... no, not today. I believe I've had enough of arcade games for a little while. And I'm told Kamurocho, here, is an excellent place to find a fight. I had to be about as clever as my addled brain would allow me to avoid the roving mobs along the way here." She chuckles.
Katt Katt's knowledge of fancy wines remains limited, but a hundred years sounds pretty old to her. And if it comes from a good one... "Well, he'll probably like it then. He liked all the other wine." Katt grins. "I mean, I did too, in the drink he made, but I don't know much about wine and I think he does. And sushi? Well - at home we cook fish different - I mean, we cook it at all - but this is new. Is it really everywhere?"

Katt's grin broadens. "I just kinda went through," she explains, in regards to the mobs. She balls a fist, smashing it into her open palm with vigor enough to make a loud sound. "If you want to get to the warpgate faster when you go home I can take you through, too! Though I'm not in any hurry, I want this first." She hefts the mocha.

"So..." Katt considers. "You're from that Hyrule place, right? I should go, sometime."
Tetra     "I'm not sure about 'everywhere', but it's a delicacy in the coastal regions in particular." She sips. "And I appreciate that, I believe I'll take you up on it. I'm low on energy and still rather injured. I'd rather not strain myself too much."

"--ah, would you like to visit sometime? It's a rather beautiful place, though not without its problems, as I'm sure you know by now. I've actually been looking into a few old ruins; they tend to be rather heavily trapped and monster-infested, in addition to having treasures of both great archaeological and monetary value. I know you enjoy a good brawl, miss Kat... I suppose I should ask you when it's time, hm?"
Katt If Katt is beat up, it doesn't show. Maybe she didn't get into *that* much trouble last night. Either way, she's in better shape than Tetra right now, which is why she made the offer. "Great!" she says, smacking her fist into her palm again.

She is getting looks from other cafe-goers. She doesn't seem to notice.

Tetra's offer seems to interest Katt. Her eyes glitter. "Really? I'd love to do that! That sounds like a lot of fun - and, well, if you need something from there, we can help you dig it out. And if you don't, it sounds like there are things in there anyway. So sure, I'll come! Uh... I'd offer to take you to my place but I don't go much anymore. Not that I've been kicked out or anything, there's just not a lot I'm doing there."
Tetra     "Well, nothing I *need*, at least not so far. But I adventure for its own sake, and to learn," Tetra explains, nursing her cup. She pays little mind to the other cafe-goers. "There are at least a few ancient cultures that called Hyrule home. All of them were rather clever with security, and the places without security are generally... well, as I said, quite monster-infested."

"Though I will say, I'm curious about where you come from. And about you, if you don't mind me saying so. I've never seen someoe quite like you before!"
Katt "I'm not afraid of monsters." Katt isn't quite dismissive, but - well, she's confident, at least. "And I've always liked adventuring, even if I haven't done a whole lot of it at home - I do more now. But that sounds like something I could help with, for sure!"

Tetra asks about her, and Katt takes a long drink from her mocha before she answers. "Well, I'm from Coursair, which I bet you haven't heard of because it's kind of out of the way, I guess. I looked at a map once - anyway. I was a fighter at the Coliseum there! The champ. But the guy who set up the matches rigged one and tried to kill me and then he turned out to be a demon so me, and the guy who I was against in the match, beat him up."

"And that's why I'm not at the Coliseum anymore. But I still like fighting, so I do that." Katt grins. "I don't think I could stop that. And as for me, uh, I'm a woren! They're pretty rare even at home, I don't know any others. There's a lot of different kinds of people though."

"What about you?" Katt tilts her head. "I don't know what's in Hyrule or anything. I've just heard Ganondorf and you talk a few times, that's it. And I know he's a Gerudo and you're not?" See, she does listen! Sometimes.
Tetra     Tetra nods a couple of times. "I see. A prize-fighter, hm? Interesting... you do seem quite good at it, I admit. And you've got the body of a fighter, to be sure," she observes, looking briefly over Katt's lean form.

"A Woren... hmm. You remind me, a little, of a more Hylian-looking version of the border peoples at home. Besides the Gerudo, there are the Gorons, the Zora, and the Rito. The Rito are bird-people, with feathers, wings, and beaks. The Zora are fish-people, and the Gorons are... large, generally rotund people made of stone. As for the rest... Hm."

"Essentially," she explains, "The Gerudo are a tribe of all women, exiled to a cursed desert after losing a war a millennium ago. They gained a reputation as thieves and liars, and have essentially been kept there by force of racism and institutional indifference. Ganondorf Dragmire is the one male Gerudo born every hundred years. He is their king, and, according to prophecy, the 'Great King of Evil' who will conquer Hyrule before being overthrown by the chosen Hero. Ganondorf is, understandably, extremely angry about his people's treatment."
Katt Katt is... well, honestly she's on the small size for a brawler; she's about five foot one and, as Tetra has noticed, not exactly heavily built for her size. But she did say she was fast, and that certainly looks like it could be true.

She flexes when Tetra looks at her. The grin comes back as she holds the pose for a few seconds, then relaxes, lazily making herself comfortable again as she takes a longer drink from what's left of her mocha.

"We have... well, I wouldn't call them bird people, but we have Wing Clan. They don't have beaks, though, just wings and feathers. They live in their own kingdom. And we've got Manilo in the water and... Shell Clan, maybe? They're big. But they don't eat rocks, they can just dig good. And so can the Dirt-Eating Clan, but they're not made of rocks either. Like I said, lots of clans."

Katt listens, doodling a line on the tabletop with one finger's clawtip, not hard enough to scratch it (she's not using the point but the back of the claw). "We don't have anything like the Gerudo though. Is he actually evil or do people just call him that?" Katt may not be especially academic, or even all that bright, but she's not *completely* oblivious either. "And he's the one you were talking about, right? And dealing with sometimes?"
Tetra     "He's... he may be. He's embraced the title, but... he's angry for perfectly valid reasons. And yes, he's the one." Tetra sets her cheek in her hand, giving an undignified-looking exhale through her mouth. "Phbbh."

"I wish I had a solution. A way to solve the problem and help them without hurting Hyrule, or making it easier for him to strike at us." She closes her eyes a moment and shakes her head.
Katt Katt knows that sound. She has made exactly that sound before. She decides she likes Tetra - well, more than she already had.

"Well, I don't know if I can help with that. I'm not very good at politics," Katt admits. "Especially not of places I've never been! But I'll do what I can with the ruins, if nothing else. And hey! If I can do anything else, you let me know. I like doing stuff."

She finishes the last of her mocha, then shudders. "I don't know if I liked that. But I *do* feel a lot better now."
Tetra     "Well. We'll see about that. Link's party is a bit crowded, but... I would feel better with a Concord member that isn't Staren," Tetra replies, before similarly finishing off her coffee. "Ooh. Mine wasn't bad... anyway. We'll see. I appreciate the offer, to be sure. Hum. I'll be sure to keep you in mind for other affairs, too."

She stands up, grabbing her empty cup. "So! Shall we make our way out? I can at least run support, though..." She pauses. "Hm. No, I suppose magic might be somewhat over-the-top."

She's probably wrong, of course; Kamurocho is fucking ridiculous.
Katt Katt says, "I just wanted something sweet, but this one wasn't quite it." Katt shrugs. "But it helped, so it did its job! Anyway, if I can fit in, I'll come."

Katt rises a moment after Tetra, using her foot to kick her staff up so she can catch it. "Well, I didn't need it coming down here," she says. "I think my staff'll be enough. Don't worry about it. I can get you back, no problem! Safe and sound!"

She can, too. She'll just have to not pick *too* many fights. But that won't be an issue today."
