Touta Konoe     A full day had passed since the events that transpired with Avenger and Assassin. Since that time all those who were being housed at Fairyland Hall and had been direct participants had been requested to be debriefed on the situation by none other than the leader of the group of immortals, Evangeline A.K. McDowell, though to most she was mostly just known as 'Yukihime', to Mikoto Shimizu this woman was also technically her new guardian and foster mother, though any attempts to call her that might been looked at a bit...Awkwardly.

Perhaps that was due to her appearence, that of a young woman who appeared in her mid twenties. Long blonde hair that reached down to her waist, blue-eyes, and unlike Touta or Mikoto an appearence of someone of European decent which was further enforced by her accent. When Mikoto would come into her office a large room with walls covered by bookshelves, her desk stood at the back with wide-window view of the rest of the resort behind her. "Our fault? Like hell, as soon as that thing popped up our members came in just as- ..."

While she seemed to have wanted Mikoto, it appears she's already hung up with a phone-call, and not a pleasant one at that. "-Hey, just because they came from the Warp gate doesn't mean they're automatically affiliated with us." The conversation goes on for a while, a bit of a back and forth and for the most part the young woman seems to have some confidence in her position as she speaks. Though something that's said gets her to twitch a brow before Mikoto's eyes but when she takes notice of Mikoto she breathes heavily before responding, "Look here, if you want to pin the blame on someone that's fine. You can spin it however you want to, but just remember that this has been a good deal for both of us and if you really wanna try and make us out to be the villains, then I can assure you...I can play that role quite well~. Alright Mr. Prime-Minister, I'll be looking forward to talking to you soon hopefully with good news."

She hangs up the phone with a long sigh as she slouches into her chair. "Haaaaah, sometimes I seriously feel like I should have stayed in the boonies..." Her eyes shift up once again though after a bit of venting to lay back upon Mikoto, looking the girl up and down before speaking. "So, how are you feeling? I heard bits and pieces of the situation so far but I'm still waiting on reports from Touta and Jeanne. At the least I know that ...Servant, ended up having some magic absorption ability. It didn't cause too much trouble for you did it?"
Sumiko The last few days have not been for Mikoto, at least not mentally.  Her soul gem hasn't darkened so much as she's had to force herself to think.  Contemplate her life up to this point, and also deal with the fact that there were things she wasn't capable of handling.  She felt...bad wasn't the right word.

Walking into the room she waits as the phone call continues, hands behind her back as she takes time to examine the things on the wall.  Eyeing back towards the desk as things seem to shift in the conversation.  Including eye-rolling (not at Yukihime) at the obvious 'blame this group for the warp gate people'.

"My soul gem is fine, I had a grief seed stashed away just in case.  Touta sent me away once he learned the magic drain field was effecting the gem," She says, perhaps with a bit of shame.  "Sitting back and letting that /thing/ do what it wanted while I could only watch was..."

Annoying?  Infuriating?  She doesn't say, she's just quiet.
Touta Konoe     When she sees Mikoto start trailing off a smirk comes on the woman's face, "Say no more. Here take a seat." He nudges her towards one of the seats opposite of her across the desk. She starts rubbing her shoulder as she speaks up again, "Personally, I don't think what Touta told you to do was wrong. I know you just recently got your powers but we have a saying here, just cause you're immortal doesn't mean you're invincible. Immortals who don't think like that don't end up being immortals for long. Still, even with everything that happened it's good to see that you're alright. I'm sure Touta will be relieved about that but..."

Her face goes a bit more serious for a moment, "I'm not sure if it's true or not yet till I speak with Jeanne or Touta but it seems like that other Servant Rynith didn't make it out. Knowing Touta it'll probably hit hard, he's still the type who thinks that everyone can be saved as long as you put the effort into it...It might be nice but..." Her eyes shift to the side for a moment before leaning back to her once more, "While 'we' might not stay hurt for long these types of...Wounds tend to leave lasting scars. I'm sure he'll try to play this off somehow but I can't imagine this won't leave an impression on him somewhow. I'd tell you to just check up on him, but I think you're enough 'sister' to do that without me telling you that. Anyway, usually I'd have you write up a report about this nonsense but given just how much people are hounding me, I need to do the same. So I want as much details you know about what happened, and then from there I'll tell you what I know of what's gonna more than likely go on moving forward..."
Sumiko Mikoto moves to sit across from the woman, cocking her head a little.  "Relatively speaking, I guess," She admits, though to her it would have been...longer?  Then again, compared to a lot of people she's rather new to the whole situation as a whole.  "My magical power is tied directly into my soul, and if I run out...you wouldn't have had only one monster to deal with, you'd have had two."

She admits the issue, she wasn't able to fight without making things worse, which is the whole crux of Mikoto's issues to begin with.  Rynith not making it out was...sad, but she knew that was going to be a thing with Touta for a while now.

"Details...well fine.  I was at school trying to get my catch up stuff done when things went to hell.  When I got on scene the servants of Assassin and Avenger were fighting.  Avenger was...acting really odd compared to normal, thinking Assassin was his real hated target who is an ally of mine named Tanya."

"Assassin's master was there, claiming he was going to do something to Touta, but got ambushed.  My allies told me to ignore him for the moment, so I did.  When we had Avenger on the ropes and were leading him out...well, the master let loose a trap.  Ate assassin and almost ate Lance-Sorry, Rynith."

Touta and I worked together to get her out.  During all this, Saber, who is the servant of the First of the Concord showed up making my life even more difficult.  At this point, Touta sent me away because I was draining mana too fast to be helpful.."

She sighs, "Story of my life right there."
Touta Konoe     The woman across the table nods along for the most part as Mikoto goes through the events. But for the most part it seems like she seems well enough aware of some of the random names and terms given. Thankfully she's been getting enough reports about Servants thanks to Touta...Probably more than she wants. Though as Mikoto lets out her sigh, she takes the reigns of the conversation.

"Pfft, you should let yourself ease off a little. You're so young your story's only at the prologue. Speaking of Assassin and his Master though, Touta did apparently give some reports about him prior. Something around the lines of him..." She goes to one of her documents on her desk and pulls it out. Wait...Even without a faction does Touta actually still make reports??? "...A 'Concord affiliated Master named Hikari ended up making threats to my person after I engaged in punching him in the jaw for...'" She lets out a sigh, "...'Inappropriate behavior.'"

She closes the document up before looking back to Mikoto, "From what I've seen here it looks like the reason this all ended up happening here really is partially Touta's fault. If that Master really did come here because of him that'd be an issue for a whole other set of reasons. That said...Mikoto, I need your honest answer on this...To the best of your knowledge the Concord wasn't aware of this Master's actions up to that point?"
Sumiko "Maybe," Mikoto says, perhaps with a bit too much of a softer resentful tone.

"That sounds like Touta, and to be fair Hikari probably deserved it.  He's a...was a classy guy.  The fact that he got thrown down some stairs now isn't going to make anyone in the Concord lose sleep or anything."

"No, as far as I know, his behavior wasn't approved by anyone, and the fact that he was also trying to kill the First's servant should be enough to back that up.  If there is anything secret in there beyond that, I don't know about it."

"The Concord knows it's my home, and we don't screw with each other's territory like that," she says, "Besides...I'd seriously hurt anyone that came into /my/ home and screwed with things."
Touta Konoe     "Hmmm, I'm sure alot of the people here would be happy to hear you've made yourself at home here so quickly. That said...It looks like things may already be screwed with now unfortunately. Mikoto, I'm sure you're familiar with how all those factions on the other side of the Warp gate work and how they interact with one another but let me give you a better explanation of how things have worked here for a while." Her head turns towards the window, as she leans her chair off to the side to let Mikoto get a better view of the island. It's a small little strip of land, but on it's grounds it really looks like a comfortable, and rather pleasant resort type accomodation for others. "Several decades back our organization UQ Holder made a deal with the Japanese Government. They provide us a place to stay without bothering us, and we promise that even though we're 'monsters' that we won't cause problems for them. Essentially as long as we've 'behaved' and occasionally helped when things get to hectic for the government to handle, they keep us off the grid from Immortal Hunters and other nuisances. We don't get much other benefits besides that, no cash to for when we protect people and no back-up for our own issues. To be honest, even getting them to allow you into a school was a bit more tedious than I would have wanted...

But it looks like things might begin to change. For the most part, we haven't had too many people from the Multiverse come to this neck of the woods, and if they did they usually ended up on the island rather than on the mainland since the Warpgate's under the island here. So we have a situation where we have to tell the Government to make a full on announcment about the Multiverse, or they're going to pin us with the blame since the Warpgate is right under our island. And to top it all off Nagi ended up making even more confusion than he realized just by showing up..."
Sumiko Mikoto listens, and each bit of bad news just kindof makes her sink down more and more.  It's happening again...this would be the third time.  Another home is on the verge of being lost, and she's...

"It's me...I'm obviously cursed.  Every time I try and find a home, claim a family...this is what happens.  Something destroys it.  Something threatens it in a way that can't be dealt with," She says, eyes down and hands on her lap.

"Maybe it's not too late, I can leave now...maybe whatever curse that follows me may go with me and things can blow over.."
Touta Konoe     Stares as she sees Mikoto start to sink more and more. As she makes regards like leaving, Yukihime's face seems unphased, not annoyed or excited at the thought of Mikoto leaving. She pulls out a box from her drawer and gets up from her seat, she moves slowly as she takes the seat next to Mikoto placing the box down between the two of them and opening it up to reveal a box of chocolates. She takes one and starts eating it right in front of Mikoto, though seems uninterested in stopping her if she chose to take a few.

"Hmmm...A girl who's cursed gives up a home in hopes of keeping it safe...A bit of a cliche honestly. If you tell this to any immortal I'm sure they'd have heard a similar sob story. I hate to break it to you, but as an immortal that's how things go. You go somewhere to hide, to make a home for yourself, but eventually you cause trouble...Maybe it's to defend yourself. Maybe it's to defend a friend, or even to defend the place you consider home, but eventually what you does stirs up trouble. Eventually that trouble brings attention to you, and that attention causes more trouble to come your way, over and over...Though if I can speak honestly here..."

She leans in towards Mikoto whether after taking another chocolate and chewing it briefly, "Don't you think you're getting a little smug? Seriously, thinking your the reason bad things are happening, all the immortals here have decades if not hundreds of years of problems that they're carrying around with them. You don't hear them saying they should leave though do you? Besides, if you think you should leave a place like this, how long before you start thinking the same about places like the Concord? How many times are you going to force yourself to pack up your bags? Plus, you really want me to have to explain to Touta that his sister decided to run away after Rynith fell? Seriously..."

The woman takes another chocolate and chews on it with discontent as she eases back into her seat. "Let me tell you another little saying we have in this world. 'A little courage is the real magic', so why not try using some of that magic to try and deal with what might happen rather than turning tail.
Sumiko Mikoto, oddly, doesn't seem interested in the chocolate.  She doesn't reach for it, even look at it.  Her head just seems focused on her feet.  It's like she's paralyzed, her entire body feels heavy suddenly, even has Yukihime has some words for her.  She speaks, but she's not seven sure if Yukihime is aware of...

"Oh I see you don't know the truth of the matter!" says the voice of a small creature.  From the doorway, a small white and pink creature, like a weird combination of rabbit and cat wonders in.  Walking towards the pair, and leaping onto the desk.

"Incubator," Mikoto says, with no love in her voice for the creature.  It turns towards her for a moment, and then back towards Yukihime.  "Ah see, Mikoto made a pact with me, she gave up her old life and I gave her a new family...but they died."

"They died because she wouldn't do her duty to keep her part of the contract.  She didn't turn into a witch when I told her this, which was surprising...but seeing her right now, I think it's important to know something else."

"The witch that killed your new family was the true daughter of that family," it says, almost like a cute animal should...despite the words that escaped it's not moving mouth. "Or did you think your soul was powerful enough to conjure a new family?"

The emotion on Mikoto's face is...pain, anger, sadness...all of these things at once as she starts reaching for the creature, almost ready to try and pop it's head off herself.
Touta Konoe     The moment the small creature appears into the room and starts talking there's a few reactions that come from Yukihime, the first being how did such an ugly looking rat get in here? The second is why the hell is it talking? The third being, 'Why the hell is it speaking to this kid so non-chalantly?' It's by the third strike that the woman encases the strange creature's body in nice excluding the head. If Mikoto decides she wants to pop off its head, her boss doesn't seem to against it as she holds it without a care in the world, as if this little animal as cute as it was really was just a vermin that she found in her house.

"Huh, I guess the whole Multiversal flooding into here is worse than I thought if we're getting more pests than I expected. Anyway, I don't know quite how you got in here you little mutant but I'd appreciate if you keep quiet or I'll freeze your head next."

That said one look at Mikoto and she can see that this conversation has been derailed. It's been derailed in such an incredibly annoying way. Enough so that Yukihime feels the need to get up from her seat to walk up behind Mikoto and place a hand on her shoulder as she leans into her ear, "Don't let it see you angry..." As she lets that slide she looks back to the creature.

"So...You're the thing that turned Mikoto into a monster? Hmmm, I guess I could see the appeal. A wish granting plush toy is probably very appealing to little girls. Though just seeing you pop in like this it's pretty easy to tell that you're just a nasty little rat aren't you? I can't tell what's worst? Making such binding agreements with such young ladies, or popping into their conversations unannounced...Now get out of this world and stay away from this girl. I've got enough things on my plate and I'd rather not waste the energy to turn you into a complete ratsicle..."
Sumiko "How...tedious!" it says, as the creature is encased in ice.  "A monster?  No, she'll do that on her own, really we just need her to turn into a witch now.  It seems, though, you're bent on interfering with me," The rabbit says, though that unbothered voice is unmistakable.

"She wanted a wish, I granted it for her.  The girl who she stole the life from also had a wish...and I also granted that.  She was good enough to turn into a witch for us." With that...

There was no stopping Mikoto, she moves to grab a pencil or pen from the table and just jamming it into the face of the creature.  Repeatedly.  She doesn't even stop once the thing is dead.

Mikoto is just nearly about to break down, with everything that was going on this was probably the last thing she needed to hear.  To know what her wish did, and ultimately her issues were her own fault.
Touta Konoe     By the time that Mikoto goes to reach for a pen or something to stab the creature, it's too late. The creature is fully encased in ice before Yukihime shatters it and the creatures body into shards. There's a look of annoyance on her face as her heel steps into one shards on the floor. At this point there'd be a quip or something of a retort that she might make about how her carpet's now ruined or something regarding a wet fur smell...But none of that happens. Instead she probably does the most motherly thing that she'd done for Mikoto...For anyone since they've been here. She embraces Mikoto into her arms and holds her tightly. She squeezes her as securely as she can while one hand goes to stroke the back of her head. It doesn't take a genius to tell that she was already going through the thick of it, and this could very well be the breaking point. In this very moment Mikoto could very well turn into a Witch in her arms, and yet she still holds her close.

"You didn't know..." It's all she can say, and all she can afford to tell this girl. Anything else would have been lip-service. Even this might have been too much, yet even a monster such as this woman could empathize. So rather than have Mikoto lash out against this thing, she'd rather her release her feeling like an actual child her age should...Cause at the end of the day that's still what she was first and foremost...
Sumiko The pencil drops out of her hand, too late to actually do the action.  She stares at the chunks of the creature, knowing it wasn't dead.  Even if she did it, the action was irrelevant.  She just breathes in, sharply, trying to make sense of the situation.  Trying to desperately come to terms with it, but right now there was simply too much.  It was overwhelming, she literally could feel her heart being crushed.

Until Yukihime embraces Mikoto, it was such a...surprise for her.  Given the back and forth the two have had as she's lived here.  It breaks the downward spiral, the feeling of despair.  Her eyes close in tears as she finally just starts sobbing into the other woman.

"It's not fair...it's not fair.  Why is it...why can't I have anything..." she says between sobs, her own hands just wrapping around her.
Touta Konoe     The older woman says nothing as she voices her complaint to the world. As she cries her eyes out against her and breaks down. All she does is keep stroking her head and continues holding this girl tight. It's a strange amount of warmth in this embrace for someone that's name tranlates to 'Snow Princess', but she's providing it. She holds that silence for a while till she finds herself feeling it was alright to pull away if only a little.

"Mikoto...If you want something...It's only natural for you to step forward and take on more risk than the norm. That might mean getting hurt, that might mean hurting others...But what of it? Would you rather be a rotting pig who covets idleness within your safety net? The things worth seizing lie at the end of risk. But from now on, you'll need to make the decision of if it's a risk worth taking. If there's something you want...Will you step forward knowing that you may hurt someone or something again?"

That's all she says from that point on. She doesn't ask any further if she felt better, nor told her to wipe up her tears. She gave her words from there and simply...Let's Mikoto decide what she'll do from here. Whether she decides she still needs more time to console her self, or wishes to move on from here was a choice she needed to make for herself.
Sumiko Mikoto just lets it all out, there wasn't anything she could say.  The bottle of emotions welling, the flood threatening to was her away for some time.  Despite everything, the fact it came out like this...

Made her more open to Yuki's words.  Listening to her, even though she doesn't say anything, or accept anything right now...she does listen.  She nods once, but right now she just needs to get it out.

She needs to rest.
