Eryl Fairfax     The crater left by the Ad Coelum has been cleared and smoothed. It is here, at the site of the Paladin's greatest defeat, that they will build their new base. Workers, materials, and funding has rolled in from the other Paladin bases, as well as donations by the Commonwealth.

The Ad Coelum wreck juts up from the landscape like a prizefighter's knocked-out teeth on the canvas. In the middle of the oblong crater, a large tent has been constructed as the centre of operations. It is here that Eryl Fairfax begins laying out what needs be done. He still looks a mess, with most of his head still swathed in bandages and a crutch under his arm to support his weight.

    "As we build, we must keep these tenants in mind," he says, gesturing to a slide and explaining each point;

SECURITY
"After the loss of the Ad Coelum, this needs to be at the forefront of our minds. We must have measures not only to try and prevent threats, such as active and automated security but also handle any that occur in spite of our efforts. This means on-site weaponry, training facilities and the like."

COMFORT
"The base will be a living space for many, and thus it needs to be a comfortable place to be. Decent sleeping quarters, break rooms, leisure spaces, beautifying the place. Keep these in mind."

TRANSPORT:
"We have carved ourself some new land here. Right now, it is quite disconnected. We need to connect with nearby roads. We may also need a landing strip. We're right next to the sea also, so we may have to consider building a port. These things I leave to you."

STORAGE:
"We are going to need space to hold things here. Not just warehouses, but possibly temporary jail cells. Possibly places design to contain dangerous items."

INTELLIGENCE:
"The Ad Coelum was the hub of our information network, and this new base must succeed it in that regard. We must have libraries, we must have a comms network, we must have a means of easily disseminating information."

GOOD PR:
"I'm sure you all noticed the reporters coming in. Fact is, this is the biggest collection of Paladins since the attack. People are hungry for answers, and we must give them one. Let that answer be that we are still strong."

From here, he goes into the TIME and BUDGET allotted. They have TWO WEEKS to get a functioning base going. The BUDGET a lot, but not infinite, and can cover for all manner of materials and extra hands. The surrounding area provides a lot of ORGANIC MATERIALS such as wood stone, and the like, but harvesting it will take TIME. The Ad Coelum has been scavenged for USABLE SCRAP such as processed metals and components, but there's more to find. But again, that will take TIME. Anything extra that Elites can bring to the table is much desired and will be allowed. Not just in terms of resources, but also ideas. The very structure of the base has yet to be determined even, purely to allow for the free flow of ideas.
Tina Natsumi After her failure at the Ad Coelum, Tina's made sure to arrive at the wreck early! She arrives with a couple of snacks, too: Fried fish, chicken wings, chips, and several large bottles of regular water because nobody needs to be burping their way through this meeting.

"I don't know much about infrastructure or stuff like that, but I think I know a thing or two about spin and keeping the good word about us flowing even after this whole mess. Work on some underdeveloped worlds to stabilize things for the non-Elites, show everyone we ain't just lickin' our wounds and doing bupkus after all that." She strokes her chin lightly, then tips her hat back a bit before glancing around at the massive amount of space all around them.

"Maybe a big ol' satellite array to keep everyone apprised of what we're doing on the public-facing end? I figure the more we send up, the less we'll be crippled even if some of 'em get knocked out. Might even be good for keeping our eyes on what's going on around the superplanet if we've got those things up there, anyway."
Reiji Arisu Reiji was not present for the final and fatal defense of the Ad Caelum, and the guilt has been gnawing at him for weeks. Seeing the Grandmaster back up on his feet, working in spite of his injuries, has done quite a bit to assuage those feelings, however. He is here, of course, to lend his aid in ensuring that- from the very ground up- the new base is as good as it can possibly be.

And he hasn't come alone.

Accompanying him is a detachment of geomancers and Eastern sorcerers, several of whom come with familiars specializing in the movement of earth and stone.

"Grandmaster, a couple of suggestions," Reiji says, "We can build comfort and security into our design by appropriate use of the local geomantic pathways and integration of the new structure into the surrounding leylines. In essence, the entire structure can act as a protective ward if we design the layout appropriately."

He gestures toward the sea, too, "I think we should probably incorporate some kind of port as well. We need to have facilities to accomodate the Kanmusu, after all."

"Next, we might also want to think of the facility's sub-layers as well. It'll be much more difficult to infiltrate and attack if the nerve center is secured by the earth itself. Plus, it would provide ready access to the local leylines. Might be able to set up some scrying arrays that way."
Gawain Gawain is here! He's in his business suit, drinking a cup of coffee, and looking over the plans. As they begin building, he knows what he wants to focus on.

"Security! We need a training site, on-site, to keep ourselves in good shape. If people are training, they'll be ready for a real conflict, as well." He begins drawing a doodle of a little training room on a pen and paper. "We can't do something such as the Shrine, but something basic would be nice..."

And one more. "We also need good PR, of course. The people need to know that we're still out here, protecting them. Perhaps have a nice reception area, for the public to see that we are strong, but still welcoming?"
Reiji Arisu "We might also want to think of turning what's left of Ad Caelum into a central tower, if much can be salvaged of the structure," Reiji adds, in answer to Gawain, "If not, it might be able to serve as a monument? Maybe with a park around it? It might be a good idea to incorporate several greenspaces into the base's design itself. Helps with the energy flows, you know?"
Shyra     Shyra is here to support the building efforts! She's brought a basket of pies and cookies and other baked goods. They are tasty, but not especially notable other than the fact that they're there. She's a HOLY HEALER, not some kind of GASTROLOGER. The goodies are set out for people to enjoy refreshments before immediately beelining behind Eryl and surrepetitiously looking him over, doing her best to not interrupt him. Once he's done talking, she quietly provides several waves of green healing sparkle magic. It won't make him heal any faster unfortunately (cutscene injuries are a pain) but it might help make him feel better!

The arrival of one of her old allies buoys her spirit even more, combined with the cohesive instruction from the Grandmaster. She nods to him, listening attentively to each point before she thrusts a hand into the air. Yes! Let's get started and make this great!

Once the time comes for her to supply her own ideas, she adopts a visible thinking posture for several seconds before she exclaims, Yes! A park! A nice big garden for people to relax and enjoy each other's company! And also a place for people to rest and recover from their wounds!
Ishirou To nobody's surprise, I4 was all over Intelligence and Security.  Though he is most likely to focus on the former than the latter first.  He has arrived in his normal looking outfit, a white-haired young man with a black overcoat and a small flying box with arms floating near him.  There appears to be a 'blindfold' over his eyes but does not appear to be blind.

"So we have a base to work with, so I suggest getting ourselves connected back to the Multiverse is a priority I can head up.  We would need direct access to a trunk, but a way to monitor traffic from that place and complete control of it."

"Beyond that...we'd probably have to rebuild a physical library, though, with a connection...and a 3D printer, we could restore what was lost if we have a manifest of the items taken?  That would just be setting up an algorithm to make that work."

"We'd also likely have to lay the cable too."

With that, he goes off to start setting up a place to actually START to be the server room for the new base, as well as drawing up plans for the other parts of his plan.
Tina Natsumi With her ideas laid out on the working table, Tina gets to the actual meat of the work! With Uncle Sam's general size and physical might, she sets out with her mechanical Persona to assist in gathering up that much needed USABLE SCRAP. Gathering enough materials for satellite arrays and all the other things they might need for security is going to need a lot of it, after all, and being used to working long hours should do wonders for gathering said materials long after any sane person would have gone to bed.
Gawain Gawain focuses on the training room, first and foremost. He has them find durable materials to make dummies and sparring equipment, as well as for the walls and floors. Glass is needed for viewing, but it has to be practically indestructible. As he does this, Gawain communicates with the others in-between sessions, as he builds the layout with the help of his security team, drawing up plans and such.

"So! While I focus on the training room, someone should focus on PR, if not already!"
Shigure     A port, you say? Shigure turns up with her fleet mates, and a few near-identical looking girls with large backpacks and an 'arm shield', pulling a small flotilla of transport barges behind them. They contain steel and fuel oil, as well as some prefabricated port buildings to bootstrap the main facility while the piers and dockyard are constructed.

Shigure's still got her arm in a s ling, but the bandages are gone, showing a slightly emaciated, but not 'horror oh god what is that' arm. She directs the transport girls to drop their loads and return to base via the local warpgate.

"Okay, first we'll section out an area for the main control building and traffic control. We'll need radar and radio control, so coordinate with the teams working on those to route some this way in their grid." the young looking destroyer says to the team assigned to the harbour. "We'll also need to plan out an efficient docking area for ships to enter and leave with little fuss. Bring some tidal charts so we can set that up quickly while the first starge is under way.

She sends Kuma and Yuudachi off to acquire some ORGANIC MATERIAL from the local area, while she and Yamashiro spend some TIME working on the plans for the port.
Kotone Yamakawa The talk on the radio had been the stuff of Horror to Kotone. She needed something, anything to get her mind off that conversation. She was also left with a feeling of thanks that her world had utterly no supernatural activity at all native to it. If there was she hoped it would forever remain in the shadows. Now there were other things to do the AD Coelum's wreck was sitting there and something had to be done about the nature of their new HQ.

She was very happy to see I4 onsite as he laid out his plan and she found herself nodding in agreement to his plan.

"I doubly agree with the need for a hard copy library, I also can offer up my program skills to help with the creation of the software to run things for any digital end of things. Though I suspect I4 you beat the pants of me there. Another thing I think we'll be in need of is a mechanical bay for our motor pool the means to repair and maintain any craft we make use of, as well as a manufacturing area to let, is produce parts or even whole crafts in house, along with the means to store things for it."

With her plan laid out she would gather up what help she could get she could and get to work, the first deal would grab some help if she could and if not she'd go on her own to survey a spot to start setting up the motor pool and it's related support structures.
Lory Thumper      Lory Thumper doesn't have resources or manpower to pour into things, but she does have one thing. That thing is her brain and the experiences as an officer. So, she also focuses on security. But, she has a few ideas about storage and creature comforts. Her foot taps lightly as she waits for her turn to speak.

"I think we need a good balance of automated security and living security forces. Each person entering the facility should be carrying or wearing some kind of identifier that can be scanned by automated sensors, and there should be motion sensor checkpoints along every corridor and doorway that detect when someone comes through and scans for those identifiers. Something like an I.D. badge with a magnetic strip. And at manned checkpoints and locked doors there should be plenty of biometric scanners. Facial recognition, retinal and fingerprint scanners, the works. Those guys somehow got in the Ad Coleum and moved around undetected. One apparently came through the food deliveries by smuggling himself in a cabbage shipment, so...even the docks and storage areas should have those things." she says.

The bunny pauses a moment to think, then continues. "Barracks are important, too. I know military and police tendency is to make it bare minimum, but at the very least the beds should be as comfortable as possible. Better sleep means more alertness and better decision making. Obviously food and entertainment is also important, as is communal areas to foster comraderie and healthy competition."

Lory makes sure that these security measures are added as she helps the various crews with constructing buildings over the weeks. It is an ongoing process. Every time a building's electronics and basic infrastruction are being set up, the security measures are being integrated. She also helps with directing the building of athletic centers, weight rooms, and other things a barracks should have to ensure that their soldiers are always in top shape.
Reiji Arisu With a plan set, Reiji and his squadron of Shinra magicians go to work! Golems of sacred stone work alongside the more conventional earthmovers, even as a small army of geomancers do the hard work of measuring local energy flows and sketching the layout of the base accordingly. Areas for greenspaces are demarcated in order to optimize the future warding array that the primary superstructure of the building will represent.

Reiji himself primarily busies himself with doing the fine detail work, weaving protective and restorative geomantic patterns into the very foundations of the future base.
Shyra     Shyra declares her ideas... And then finds herself instructed to go take the lead of one of the construction groups to get things done. The healer, of course, is in a panic. She's never done construction before! The most she's ever done was help collect an object for someone else to finish building a thing!

Still, while Reiji gets to work setting down geomantic paths and such, Shyra is seen hustling back and forth with trays of bulbs and seeds and saplings, working to help add bright and soothing layers of plantlife to the outdoor areas, what will become shaded trees with delicious fruit for passersby, and cozy places for people to rest and relax in natural surroundings. Unfortunately, she is far from tireless, but she throws her all into it!
Rean Schwarzer Rean's here, ready and willing to help out.

Seeing all the wreckage brought up all the negative feelings from that night, his failures and sadness.

Maybe if he'd spoken up more when he first heard about the black box, maybe if he'd paid closer attention to what Crow was up to, or just being stronger in general. All kinds of 'maybes' and 'should haves' that wouldn't change a thing.

But it was time to move forward, both for him, and the Paladins. A new year, and a new beginning.

He decides to help out with the training room, drawing ideas from his school's training facilities. At one point, he makes a call to Instructor Sara, asking if she'd be willing to lend out one of the robotic 'training dummies' she used during combat classes. She agreed to at least allow one of them out, one built for taking a mix of close combat and ranged attacks.

He also pokes into the garden every once in a while to help with beautifying the area. Maybe helping plot out a place for a memorial for all those that were lost.
Eryl Fairfax     I4 gets started on a SERVER ROOM to form the basis of an INTELLIGENCE network. Right away, he has to make a decision; several servers were pulled from the Ad Coelum wreck. If refurbished, they would have salvageable data that would give an immediate boost to INTELLIGENCE. However, fixing them up will consume TIME and SCRAP. Instead, he could opt to get in entirely new servers which would consume BUDGET and less TIME, but mean less INTELLIGENCE.

Tina gets started on building SATELLITE ARRAYS so that the construction efforts can be broadcast for GOOD PR, and also help INTELLIGENCE. Thanks to her excessive efforts, she gets a functioning array up in just a few short days. Given the scope of her efforts, she finds herself bombarded by the reporters, in part due to her e-fame. "Miss Natsumi! You were on the Ad Coelum that day. Any comments?!" Similar comments come flooding in from people watching her stream, as well as the construction efforts.

Gawain and Rean go about improving SECURITY by constructing training rooms. The robotic dummy supplied by Thors Academy helps a lot, but in sourcing strong glass and durable material, a quandary presents itself. The Ad Coelum certainly had plenty of both, durable enough to endure space flight, but it lays broken. They can take the TIME to reshape it and consume SCRAP. Or they can consume BUDGET and less TIME instead. Rean could cut down on the TIME used either way, but it would mean neglecting the gardening. If he splits his attention, he'll improve COMFORT but more TIME will be needed for the training rooms. But as the teen considers a memorial, Eryl actually pulls him aside with a wink (or a blink, one of his eyes is under bandages). "Leave that to me," the Grandmaster says.

Shigure mobilises her fleet to improve TRANSPORT by building a dock. By looking into local tidal charts and ensuring good radio transmissions, she also improves INTELLIGENCE. This represents a huge effort that will consume TIME, but since she is supplying her own materials and having her crew gather more, she is not consuming SCRAP or BUDGET. However, all of this represents a lot of investment on her part. While she can split her own attention, she would be unlikely to be able to invest any more of her PERSONAL CAPABILITIES for the project.

Kotone also assists in TRANSPORT by getting to work in producing a motor pool for the Paladins. Right away, a dilemma is presented to her. The Commonwealth is leaning on the Paladins to take advantage of the opportunity to roll out a new fleet of carbon-neutral vehicles. Ordering these things will consume a lot of BUDGET, but score a lot of GOOD PR. Alternatively, she could go for the cheaper, less environmentally friendly options to consume less BUDGET but risk a penalty to GOOD PR.

Lory wants extremely rigorous security checks in all areas of the new base. But right away, an issue presents itself. Staff raise objections that all these measures will be, quote, "A pain in the ass." If she presses for them, she risks reducing the COMFORT of the base in exchange for better SECURITY.

Reiji puts in a lot of his PERSONAL CAPABILITIES into giving the base good feng shui. The attention to good 'flow' of the base this entails, as well as improving the nature around the base means that COMFORT is improved as he pursues SECURITY. However, such a large investment means he is unlikely to be able to bring much else to the table from here. Anything else is going to be relying on SCRAP and BUDGET.
Ishirou Good thing that I4 does not to sleep or eat, thus he can dedicate more TIME to his project.  However, as it stands right now he has a decision tree to resolve.  He could try and repair what was here, but he could also get new servers.  The new servers could be brought up to a higher standard...but he could do the same with the data he already has.

So in the end, he uses the old servers and dedicates SCRAP and TIME to this.  Once this is done, and the room secure, his next task would be to run a connection directly to a multiversal internet trunk.  He would also set up security along with this so that it could not be a point of weakness, attempting to patch or control as many holes into things as he can.

He also looks into satellite communication.  Is launching a satellite out of the question?  Both would be good, but either or might be enough.  This would have multiple uses too, as well as potentially give them a location for personalized GPS systems.  I4 will consider ALL possibilities!
Shigure     Well, the first part is done, once the port facilities are in place, and the outline of the entire facility is confirmed, she recalls her fleet and begins focussing on just the TRANSPORT side, helping to section out the piers into tiered partitions for various ship sizes, using her fleet as a baseline in their Ocean Fitout forms. Yamashiro is easily as big as some of the transports, but they use her size and add some more for the super freighters that may come through on occasion. Meanwhile she sends Kuma and Yuudachi off to acquire some more Scrap.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone had quite the issue to deal with. The Commonwealth was leaning for something, namely carbon-neutral vechicles. She could go with the cheaper more comon in the multiverse combustion engines. That would cause PR backlash for good or ill. Though she had an idea as she knew a solution from the moment The commonwealth put the pressure on her for this task.

Given her MECHANIC skills on her native world. She darn well knew it was pretty much eclectic, for just about anything in the developed world at this point. So putting her aids and own connections from her long history of work there. The good news was these things were market standard as was the hardware to maintain them. So she's likely going to make several local vehicle companies on her earth. Very happy once she's done here. The long and the short of it she knew where there was a market with these very things at standard prices, well for her world.
Lory Thumper      Lory has to weigh the benefits of both, but in the end the security is more important than the comfort in her opinion. She isn't willing to budge on SECURITY even if COMFORT has to take a hit. Her reasoning? That preventing another Ad Coleum is more important. This is a military base, and at least one faction has proven that they are willing to take drastic measures to ensure that mere possible threats are dealt with. She is hoping the more lavish quarters and entertainment provisions will help balance the possible discomfort.

In another effort to increase comfort, Lory suggests using nature-promoting designs. Gardens in the outdoor areas and walking paths, and something that might help with security and provide a bit of a nature retreat. A vertical farm! It is very space efficient, economial, provides a source of nature and fresh air, and perhaps most importantly, might remove a route of infiltration in the form of decreased imports. If approved, she'll probably have to use some budget and time to build it.
Shyra     Once Shyra is done running around hauling baskets and gardening, she ends up hearing people complain that others are running into resource problems! Being the helpful type, the healer ends up running along with others, trying to drag pieces of broken materials towards the gathering areas in order to be broken down and used in more useful endeavors. This probably isn't the best use of her skills, but Shyra is, well, easy to impose upon.
Tina Natsumi Construction and gathering isn't Tina's strong suit, but it sure does feel good to see her efforts result in something physically tangible. Even though she's feeling a little worn out physically, she's feeling great mentally, and she's more than happy to field the questions from the reporters when they come, even if it means putting TIME into it to keep them from going after everyone else.

It's all being streamed on her own channel simultaneously, of course.

"Ain't gonna lie, it was a rough day. Lots of good men and women fought and died that day to keep it from crashing somewhere even worse than it did. I was one of the lucky ones. Got away with a busted... Everything." She chuckles lightly and gestures at her everything vaguely, but keeps her tone relatively even despite still wearing her trademark COWBOY HAT.

"But we're the Paladins. We're gonna pick ourselves back up, rebuild, and get something even stronger up right here to make sure all the good, hardworkin' folks of the Multiverse still have someone they can depend on to fight for 'em. Someone that'll look at what needs protecting now, keepin' people protected for the long haul, and never waverin' or giving up like some glass jawed boxer just because of one bad hit."

And then it's time to try reeling people in and getting some tangible PUBLIC SUPPORT or RECRUITMENT.

"Fact of the matter is, the Paladins ain't just made of Elites traipsing around and fighting the baddies. It's made of hardworking, hardthinking folks at home that keep the whole train on track. If you wanna help make the Multiverse a better place, you can! Get involved in your communities. Help each other out. Maybe even sign up at one of our local offices to help keep everything running!"
Reiji Arisu With the geomantic considerations well taken care of, Reiji is able to direct his personal attentions toward other essential tasks.

All the security in the world doesn't mean much when you've got nowhere to keep anything. A little known fact about Shinra's Roppongi headquarters is that much of it is actually empty. Yes, empty! But not disused. All that space is instead dedicated to warded vaults containing horrible, cursed artifacts, important documents and even long-sealed demons. While Reiji isn't an expert in that sort of thing, he can at least make calls to try and establish a similar containment facility under the new headquarters. If they're going to get started on developing underground at all, then they need to get started immediately, after all.

Unless the Paladins recruits a race of mole-people, or something like that.
Rean Schwarzer Rean hums, looking at all the glass. It might just be better to get new glass, rather than trying to fuse the old stuff together again. Same with all the stone and metal.

As for the memorial, it looks like Eryl's got a plan in mind. Rean nods, trusting the Grandmaster to come up with something good. As for the gardening, well, he decides to handle both, working to help move gardening supplies, pre-potted flowers, and bags of dirt around, and helping to plant things. After all, the place being a bit more comfortable would help the base feel a bit more down to earth, so to speak.
Eryl Fairfax #-1 FUNCTION (ANSI) EXPECTS 2 ARGUMENTS BUT GOT 1

Shigure and Shyra both elect to rummage deeper into the wreck of the Ad Coelum to bring back more SCRAP. As they roam deep into the ruined corridors, untouched since the emergency teams went in, they find something disturbing; very very fresh tracks. Someone else is in here. They can raise the alarm to immediately divert attention from the base construction towards making sure the wreck is secure. However this will take TIME away from the project and risk a hit to GOOD PR for letting a potential threat get so close so soon after the attack. Alternatively, they can spend the next few days trying to handle the matter themselves. This means that they continue to gather SCRAP as a pretence, and attempt to root out whoever is here themselves.

Lory elects to prioritise SECURITY over COMFORT. This draws some grousing, but her measures are implemented regardless. To try and balance the hit, she moves on to implementing a vertical farm for locally grown food. This will provide extra COMFORT via fresh food, but an issue arises. Due to the base's proximity to the sea, the salt in the air and the shells in the soil are excellent for growing some produce, but it's anathema to other kinds. If she wants that extra SECURITY via limiting food imports, she's going to have to consume extra BUDGET to greenhouse and protect some strata of the farm to grow those other kinds of produce.

Tina puts on a right show for the reporters and the watchers at home. Her face is all over the news, and her words draw a flock of volunteers to her. Only her of course. But this does mean she has a lot of extra hands at her beck and call that she can put forward to reduce the TIME of any project around the base.

Reiji begins working on a subterranean storage area for the base. With the sea so close, care must be taken to ensure that the tunnels are not at prone to flooding. This can be done by tunnelling away from the sea, or going straight down and then spreading once they're below the ocean floor. The former would take less TIME but BUDGET must be paid to nearby landowners as they burrow under their domain. The latter would take more TIME and still consume BUDGET but the SECURITY of whatever they store will be greater as it is further below ground.

DAY 5:

I4 finally gets those servers up and running with the salvaged INFORMATION. As he ponders how to get a satellite in orbit, Eryl forwards him a proposition from the Commonwealth. They are concerned with what to do with the Space Station Corpus Juris now that the Ad Coelum is down. Since I4 wants a satellite, he could have the structure retrofitted to be said satellite since it's already in orbit. However, doing so would consume extra TIME. Building and launching a new satellite would be quicker, but it would consume a lot of BUDGET.

Kotone reaches out to the mechanics of her homeworld to provide the new fleet on the cheap. In doing so, she doesn't consume any BUDGET, but it does take a bit more TIME to get things arranged. And since these vehicles meet the specifications, she scores that GOOD PR. However, a communique comes down to her from a coalition of less technologically-developed Commonwealth members; what she plans to do in regards to horses and horse-equivalent beasts of burden. She could gain GOOD PR by acquiescing and investing some TIME, BUDGET, and STORAGE to housing and feeding such animals in the event that they need stabling... or she can tell them 'no' and do her own thing, at risk to GOOD PR.

Rean opts to split his attention between building the training rooms and developing the gardens. However, he saves time by just getting the new materials rather than reusing SCRAP. The gardens look lovely, and the training room is complete. But then disaster strikes. Reporters come up to him and begin questioning his relationship to Crow. He is asked if he denounces his friend. Doing so would bring GOOD PR and assuage concerns about SECURITY. But... it would mean saying, publicly, that he denounces Crow.

Doing so would bring GOOD PR and assuage concerns about SECURITY. But... it would mean saying, publicly, that he denounces Crow.

Gawain After they finish the training room, Gawain has a new project. He wants to focus on the greatest dining hall/cafeteria man has ever seen. This doesn't need much of the budget, because he'll put personal resources into it - getting volunteers from Dun Realtai and Camelot, from the various worlds he's worked at, et cetera. He'll oversee the construction himself, as well. He wants this for the people.

Hopefully it'll boost morale, after all!
Ishirou I4 is given a proposal.  Sitting in a chair he acquired he spins around in it and considers the proposal.  Something already in space would save on budget.  And retrofitting THAT and putting that in geo-orbit would be fair easier.  The fact that it's a station would only give them more room for other devices and securing signals.  In fact, more so to completely rely on it, as there would be enough room for backups.

The spin ends and I4 takes control of the keyboard to reply.  Going forward with the station.  After all, Rome wasn't built in a day.

Once that is done, he looks at his options for a small, but fast 3D computer made specifically for creating offline media to recover their damaged library.  Connection to the internet as well as others willing to type out was lost would keep both a media copy and a physical copy thanks to the printer.
Lory Thumper      Lory is feeling pretty proud of herself! Not only did the security measures go through, but so did the sky garden! She hears about Reiji's issues with STORAGE and finds him. "Hello again, Reiji! Nice to see you. How's that little seedling doing?" She does want to catch up more, but the real reason she found him is important. "So, I heard that you need miners for underground storage? A lot of the smaller mammals from my world like underground houses, and so there are plenty of skilled miners and underground developers we could hire from Mammalopolis and the surrounding area. They can get here pretty quick."

The issue of making a more complete skyscraper farm comes up, and Lory ponders. The Ad Coleum was a space ship, so environmental control was a big thing there. She asks about using SCRAP to decrease the need for BUDGET, understanding that it would take more TIME to reshape the space age glass and metal into proper forms and repurpose the environmental control systems. But, even if that is not possible, she pushes for the greenhouse areas of the tower.

Lory calls home to get the diggers if Reiji wants them, and helps build the skyscraper farm.
Tina Natsumi That worked out swimmingly even by Tina's standards. After rallying a good number of people to the Paladins' cause (or at least her efforts towards said cause), she has to sort out what to do next.

Crap. She didn't really think much further past this part. There's quite a few tasks she could ask them to help out with, but what? Certainly not tasks that would involve sensitive information or materials, but perhaps something that just about anyone could accomplish with sufficient physical effort. It can't just be busywork, though, or they might feel like she's just taking advantage of them instead of really making a difference!

So this is why those folks in management get paid so much. It takes Tina a bit, but she soon turns her attention towards something completely different: a MEDBAY. Injuries are part of the job, after all, and having advanced medical facilities is sure to look good for anyone that might be on the fence about joining the Paladins with all the danger that entails.

As far as actually getting the medbay project off the ground, though... Someone smart is bound to get involved with the actual logistics of what a proper medical facility needs. Instead of trying to learn all that medical sciencey stuff, Tina instead focuses her newly formed team's efforts towards getting the foundation and general CONSTRUCTION in place. Tina's going to be joining the construction efforts, of course, once again relying on her stamina and general physical aptitude to help get it all set up.
Shigure     Shigure and Yamashiro continue with their work.

Meanwhile, Kuma and Yuudachi spot the tracks, have a quick discussion between themselves, then turn to Shyra. "Whoever or whatever's making these... we should find out before making any kind of report." the blonde shipgirl says, pointing to the fresh tracks. "It could just be the salvage teams being sent in, kuma, but we should make sure, kuma." adds the brunette, the pair starting to follow the tracks, weapons ready in case it turns out hostile.
Shyra Shyra is not as great as the boat spirits at hauling things, but she's got heart! She follows Kuma and Yuudachi around as they pull out scrap, but after digging some out, she blinks at the sight of the TRACKS.

Ummmm.... She textboxes in the direction of her friends. It looks like something else might be down here... She looks up and around, clearly more nervous now as she sticks close to Kuma and Yuudachi. Do you think we should find out what it is? She asks, but is clearly intent to do that instead of go for more help. When Yuudachi and Kuma agree, she nods. Right! Let's work togeter and find the truth!

After all, everyone else is so busy right now and she doesn't want to cause a problem! No! Never from Shyra! That's right!

So she follows along the pair of boatgirls, looking around nervously as she helps hunt for the being down in the ruins. Helllooooooo? She 'calls'. Anyone out there?
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone being from a high tech world where riding animals have become a leisure activity in most of the world. Had what one might call a total derp moment about it, the concerns she saw were legit. She knows she can't please everyone but there are enough Paladin operatives and supporting personnel from more magical or less advanced worlds. Or just worlds who have things like freaking Dinosaurs to ride? Need to be accounted for. There were also situations where living mounts might be a better choice for whatever reason it is. Be it being undercover, environmental issues or the locals having issues with machines.

So there she was the Motorpool seems to have been set up nicely but there was one other big problem after that, storage. For now, though she'll gather the crew she'll make use of some TIME and BUDGET. Given the lack of storage, she'll attempt to make use of SCRAP as building materials once it's been reprocessed.

When that is finally handled she'll be looking into boosting the storage ability of the new base complex. Namely general storage but first she's got to get these stables handled.
Reiji Arisu Reiji is faced with a decision to make. On the one hand, he can try and buy off the underground rights from some of the local landholders and expand a somewhat more shallow underground facility... On the other, he could instead make plans to dig straight down, and thus break the first (and most frequently broken) of all spelunking taboos.

Does he dare ask those construction workers... To risk digging too deep.....!?

Why yes, with Lory's generous offer to provide aid, Reiji does in fact go for the somewhat more time-consuming option. This has a secondary benefit of reassuring him, somewhat, that the all-too-frequent horrible subterranean monster might be found sooner rather than later, if indeed one exists under the crash site.

"That would be fantastic," the exorcist answers with a smile, "I'm running into some resistance with some mineral rights laws. It'd be easier if we just went straight down, but that'd take a bit more time than the alternative. But... I'm still of the opinion that deeper is better than wider in this case. I don't want to find out that someone's bought out one of our neighbours and dug into the base from above or anything like that."

There's a beat as Reiji takes a draw from a steaming cup of coffee. There's a sense that he's pulled an all nighter recently-- maybe even several! "The sapling's... Not in the best state. It's pretty obviously mutated. I've been looking into what that might mean, whether it's malign or not, but right now I'm busy containing and studying it."

Provided the digging goes well, Reiji begins planning out /how/ they're going to be using the additional underground real-estate. He intends to dedicate a goodly portion of the caves to prisoner containment and secure vaulting. That means outfitting the tunnels with necessary security measures.

It looks like Reiji is going to be pulling a few more all-nighters.
Rean Schwarzer With the Training Room and the garden complete, Rean goes to check on the storage spaces, since that doesn't seem to be covered so far. Once her gets there, though, he's swarmed by reporters asking about Crow.

...He'd want him to be honest, right? Rean takes a deep breath, gathering his thoughts on the matter.

"What Crow did was terrible, that much is obvious. I definitely felt betrayed, seeing him up there. But I also feel like my energy is better spent helping rebuild, rather than chasing after him for this. I won't hesitate to stop him if he tries something like that again, though. I'd be a terrible friend if I didn't."

After that, he returns to sourcing out some cargo crates, and figuring out more rehabilitative (and ethical) methods of jailing.  If a lot of people were doing illegal things out of desperation or thinking there was no other way, it'd be better for everyone if they found another way to move forward.
Eryl Fairfax DAY 7:

With the extra hands Tina managed to rally, the medbay is actually completed quickly. The volunteers are no doctors, but they can set up beds, pack away supplies, and the handier among them can help with wiring and plumbing with supervision. However, that leaves them with nothing to do afterwards. The notion of a fundraiser is then raised. This would require Tina to spend time doing PURELY PR THINGS instead of building, but if she does it, she would actually get some extra BUDGET. Alternatively, she could spend the time doing something else... especially since some other e-celebs are circling the waters and looking for any reason they can to tear her down. Asking for money would give them precisely that.

DAY 8:
Gawain calls upon his PERSONAL CAPABILITIES to have the greatest dining hall in all the land made. Every commodity is made available, and with the food provided by Lory's vertical farm, no one on the base will ever have cause to complain about the food provided. However, as he oversees the project, he is approached by reporters. "Sir Gawain, a moment! Are you concerned about the health of Eryl Fairfax? Some are saying you should take his place as Grandmaster! Your thoughts?" These are treacherous waters indeed. It is UNCLEAR what ramifications any answer will have.

Shyra, Kuma, and Yuudachi decide to keep the footprints to themselves, and venture deeper into the ship alone to find the source of the footprints. They find scavengers. People who have managed to accrue some very valuable scrap, including one of the ship's backup generators. Something that big could be used to improve SECURITY, COMFORT and INTELLIGENCE by giving the base extra power for its facilities. But these people are clearly starved and destitute. They won't put up a fight, but taking it will take away their payday. They'll either fight for it, which will draw attention and a penalty to GOOD PR, or they can siphon off some BUDGET to pay them off.

Rean's answer seems to satisfy the reporters, and they leave him alone. That is, until word of his rehabilitative holdings project spreads around. It's a fine idea to help people during their temporary stay, but doomsayers proclaim that the Paladins intend to brainwash people and hold the indefinitely, while others say the Paladins are too soft. He can keep the rehabilitate angle, which will cost BUDGET and lose GOOD PR, or just make a regular holding area and avert this.

DAY 9:

Lory opts to supplement her extra use of BUDGET with SCRAP and take a hit to TIME in order to greenhouse the farm. The extra COMFORT and added SECURITY is very welcome. Further, she calls in the moles of her home world to assist Reiji in digging tunnels deep below the base. With the added expertise help, the base now has a sprawling subterranean system to fill in with anything they need. However, as he starts drawing up plans for the containment cells, an issue comes up. The caves are, quite literally, too expansive. Too expansive for the current power system to adequately handle. He can either scale it back and collapse some tunnels, losing STORAGE. Or he can consume more BUDGET to power the place.

Kotone goes about adding stables, using SCRAP to reduce the BUDGET used. This does take extra TIME but the stables are built, and the added STORAGE use is nullified. With that does, she goes to help expand STORAGE. As she goes about it, she stumbles across a concerning scene; reporters are dogpiling the volunteers with questions. The ones that came out thanks to Tina, the shipgirl volunteers, and the moles from Lory's world. They are, at best, plainly uncomfortable. At worse, some are firing back with words that are being twisted. She has a chance to formally eject the tabloid vultures, but at a massive GOOD PR cost.
Eryl Fairfax DAY 10:

I4 is taking his sweet time with his work. The Corpus Juris is repurposed to an intel satellite without a lot of fuss. However, in searching for a quality 3D printer, the best on the market immediately leaps out. Not only can it create books, it can recreate the physical state of digital media, and thus, extrapolate what was stored on it. A big win for INTELLIGENCE, but with a huge hit to BUDGET. Further, it's huge, and needs a lot of materials that need special STORAGE. Alternatively, he can opt for a cheaper option that does what he needs it to.
Eryl Fairfax REPORT:

SECURITY: 6
COMFORT: 7-1
TRANSPORT: 4
STORAGE: 4
INTELLIGENCE: 5
GOOD PR: 6

BUDGET: 5
SCRAP: 10
Gawain Gawain is asked a hard question. He blinks, smiles, and answers completely unreheased. "Of course I am concerned about the health of my friend, Grandmaster Eryl Fairfax. If it was necessary for the organization, I would take over any position asked of me - however, I would wish not to do so, as he is a fine Grandmaster who I look up to, and will certainly recover better than ever." It's kind of saccharine, but Gawain is kind of saccharine. He then moves on to...

Helping Tina. Tina will have problems if she asks for money alone, however, Gawain reasons that since people seem to really love him (his action figures sell really well), he can contribute to that, doing PR things while she builds her project. A smiling Gawain is impossible to hate, after all.
Ishirou I4 has been very efficient with his allotted budget, taking great pains to use extra time or other resources to keep costs down.  However, now that he has done that, he uses this as justification to throw out a requisition form for the LARGE 3D PRINTER.  After all, choosing this one would do more than just have a report printed and stored, but even the original media.

This leaves him time after approval to do his final touches.  With the satellite in orbit, and the servers set up as well as upgrades made.  There is one thing he wants to make sure does not happen again. Using his own proficiency in hacking, he starts writing security algorithms.

Not just the basics of firewalls and monitoring programs, but even writing a new adaptive program that takes data from multiple sources to compare against itself.  Basically, using operations data to confirm people are places they're supposed to be, people are who they say they are based on psychological data, and biometric data comparison being able to be pulled from medical to verify and predict changes.
Tina Natsumi When a fundraiser is mentioned, the gears start turning in Tina's head. She's not normally one to shy away from getting more eyes her way, but her specialty really is in hamming things up for the camera more than anything else. She's not blind to her detractors, though, but when she has to balance keeping the construction going and keeping things funded, it starts getting trickier.

Luckily, Gawain's there to lend his efforts to the PR side of things, and that gives Tina AN IDEA. While Gawain handles the PR side of things for the fundraiser, Tina pours more energy into the construction as well as going with the time-tested goodwill technique of allocating the week's subscription money towards funding the construction.

It's probably not going to be a whole lot of money based on her past subscriber counts, but it's less about the actual numbers and more about winning the optics war by literally giving away her own e-money to do it.
Lory Thumper      Lory looks disheartened to hear that the sapling isn't doing well and that it was in fact contaminated to some degree. "Oh...I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you can figure it out. If there's anything I can do to help, let me know. Okay?" Lory says to Reiji.

Once the tunnels and vertical farm are in place, Lory feels like things are going pretty well! That is until she happens to pass by the entrance to the base and realizes...did anyone actually build roads?

She facepalms at a massive planning oversight and quickly gets in contact with the others and the construction crews and even uses her time to help build the roads. She also asks about a perimeter wall to help increase security a bit more since they really do seem to be fully responsible for every aspect of construction. If this is supposed to be a proper defensible military base, a perimeter wall could go a long way toward that as well as detering random people from just wandering in.

Roads are of a slightly higher priority for shipping and deployment purposes, so Lory helps personally with that. If there is time and approval, she also helps with the walls and suggests they use any remaining space age metals that aren't needed for other projects to reinforce the walls, either through reinforce concrete or through exterior armor.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone is going about her work she's making some good progress here, there's some storage now, the motor and riding animal pool is all set up to her liking. It should be serviceable for the Paladins there are still a few more things she can to help with things.

Then come the reporters she will not throw them out, a free press? It is a much better thing to have around overall than not being accountable. It's a massive pain in the ass she's not the best person to deal with it but she thinks about how the Union was and cringes but will push on to her next project.

She hashes out a plan with Rory to get the transport issues back on track. While Lory will be handling getting the workers on the roads? Kotone's will be using more salvaged scrap with the workers she's overseeing to get a set of VTOL landing pads set up and made operational. If she has the time and scrap she'll see about reinforcing the pads. She will however not do it at the cost of other people's projects.
Rean Schwarzer ...Yeah, of course someone jumped straight to brainwashing. Rean sighs. "I wanted to help people who were acting out of desperation or being so stuck in their own despair they can't see any other way. Brainwashing them doesn't fix the root problem, not truly."

He eventually does opt for a few normal holding cells, but makes it clear that they are a last resort in comparison to the rehabilitative methods. Some people were that stuck in their ways.

He also tries to pull a few favors with a couple of his classmates and Instructors - many of them know or in the case of his instructors, are high ranking military, and if they could teach combat seminars at the base when they had time it would be very helpful. And with Thors being a military academy, he also tries to see if he can get a hold of some alumni in either the Railway Military Police or one of the many Provincial Armies to also help in this effort.
Shyra     Shyra explores and followsa long, letting the brave Kuma and Yuudachi take the lead as she provides that most elemental of support roles, that being the role of pocket healer.

But it doesn't take long until they find the scanvengers! Shyra looks a LOT happier to see scavengers and not a horrible monster. She immediately putters around with them, greeting them would have immediately just given them sone of their budget, but it looks like Yuudachi has an even better plan to HIRE them and give them a working wage in exchange for their finds! Yay! Shyra is completely fine with this... But if that doesn't work, the pushover healer is also happy to throw in some BUDGET too.

Don't send Shyra to do contract negotiations.
Reiji Arisu "I'll keep you in the loop," Reiji answers with a grateful smile. "I'm doing what I can to help it, but I think at this point it's just a matter of seeing how things turn out. Once the base is done, I can see about pulling resources to study the sapling in greater detail, but right now..." He shrugs helplessly. Some things they just need to take one step at a time.

Speaking of emergent issues, it turns out that the moles have, indeed, dug too deep. But rather than having a nice and simple cththonic demon god to exterminate, the horror that the excavation has actually uncovered is...

...Logistical issues...

Truly, the only foe more intimidating than mountains of paperwork.

Reiji taps at his OSHA-mandated safety helmet, sighing wearily. A nearby mole indicates the tunnels that would need to be collapsed to relieve strain on the power infrastructure. "Okay," Reiji says, "But what if we just dig /deeper/ and put in a geothermal generator--" And risk demons!?!?

News of the Ad Caelum's sub-reactor reaches him across the tactical network, and Reiji briefly considers his options before figuring that a tertiary underground power would probably help keep the vaults secure in case the main energy supply is shut off. "So like I was saying," Reiji murmurs, thoughtfully, "What are our power options...?"
Shigure     Yuudachi radios out, then turns back to the salvagers. She attempts to strike a deal for these guys to come onto Paladin Payroll, in exchange for the generator. She tries to sweeten the deal by offering some of the SCRAP she and Kuma have acquired before making the detour. Whether that actually works or not. Well, Yuudachi isn't exactly a negotiator.

Meanwhile, Shigure and Yamashiro are working on a simple side project using some Organic Material. It's an bath house, a traditional japanese style onsen in the same layout as Kanmusu repair docks. Hopefully that gives a bit more COMFORT.
Eryl Fairfax DAY 13:
Gawain's comment... doesn't do much for the reporters. Too wholesome, too straightforward. They can't put a spin on it, so they just don't use it at all. They do not gain GOOD PR from it, but they don't lose any either. Which is, quite frankly, probably the best outcome.

I4, with the groundwork laid and the printer helping with INFORMATION, puts in the work to create an adaptive system. One that monitors people on the physiological level to try and ensure that they are who they say they are. Something that incredible could potentially render the place intruder-proof... but Eryl comes down on his project. Gently, like a pillow thrown at his face. "Letting this system access the physiological data of Paladins is a massive invasion of privacy. I appreciate your zeal in this matter, but I must veto that part of it." So while the system still provides a massive boost to SECURITY, it cannot be infallible in the way I4 hoped.

The scavengers are put on the Paladin payroll! Thankfully, this is separate from the base construction BUDGET. However, they claim 50 percent of the current SCRAP collected by the Paladins as a down payment. With that, the generator is claimed and installed to boost SECURITY, COMFORT, and INFORMATION, and extra hands are put to work.

Tina and Gawain go on the social media road, driving up funds together to go towards the construction. Tina might have few subs, but Gawain is a superstar, and people turn up just for him. A significant amount of money comes in and is added to the BUDGET.

Lory and Kotone collaborate on the neglected roads and landing pads to improve the base's TRANSPORT problems. Scrap comes in very handy for the perimeter wall, but with the extra SCRAP given to the scavengers, they have to dip into BUDGET for the roadways. Thankfully, said scavengers turn out to help in actually building them.

Rean sees about getting his teachers to come onto the base and provide seminars. Some proper education for the guards would give a good boost to SECURITY, and the act of goodwill imrpoved relations between the Paladins and Erebonia. Though he gets slammed a little by the papers and gives the Paladins a hit to GOOD PR, Eryl approves of his plans.

Below ground, Reiji requisitions extra funds for a bigger generator, averting that particular crisis. As Eryl looks over the reports, he breaths a sigh of relief. Without that last-minute fundraiser, they would have gone into the red. But the base below ground is adequately powered, and with the salvaged generator, the exterior can fund small amenities. Like the onsen the kanmasu see about building.

It is on the eve of the last day they have that Eryl calls everyone together. "You have all done well, and I have never been prouder. You may all go to bed, possibly for the first time in days, and be content in the work you have done. But, if any of you would like to go that extra mile, and make a few more additions, I will be up with you, supporting you in your endeavours."

Ishirou I4 does not understand the resistance behind the system he was proposing to Eryl.  He provides counter-arguments, reasonable assessments, and overall prepared to defend his point.  However, no means no, and defeated, he'll have to do without the psychological profiling.  This causes him annoyance because now he sees it as a possible hole in his system.

It is also data that is collected but not used efficiently!  This vexes I4 to no end because there is data ungathered and unused.

Instead of pouting, he takes his frustration out on himself by doing an all-nighter.  At this point, he tries to increase the efficiency of information gathering and sharing, both internally and with outside groups, they are allied to.  Special helper AIs made to better translate data into the preferred mediums, data banks on proper procedures made for ready reading.

Even MMIs designed to help those who are robotically inclined better access information and interact with the network.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone knows how Paladins got caught flat-footed, due to lack of intel. She would make ready to pull an all-nighter and aid I4 with his work. She would also use her experience from being with a heavily wired society to help with working out a lot of things with the basic UI, checking for back doors and doing a fair bit of white hat hacker work to help with the intel relate systems.

She will also develop code to help hook the information feeds that I4 are working on to be able to tap into Paladin vehicles at least the ones with the means to do as well.

She would be found the next morning passed out at a console with her head jacks still plugged into the network.
Reiji Arisu It's done. Finally. The underground may on paper be nothing more than a glorified storage depot, and on most occasions, it really is no more than that. However, the wards and protections in place, the massive airlocks and the independent power supplies... All these mean that this is no less than a veritable underground fortress...!

Though really, it's more of a vault. A place to keep the worst of the worst, the most sensitive of intelligence, libraries and databases and all kinds of things that are just too important to lose. Reiji looks upon his work, takes a sip of hot coffee, and idly hi-fives an equally satisfied moleman.

Today was a good day.

But it's nowhere near over. There's one more thing he has to do.

"I'd like to install a few shrines," Reiji says to Eryl at the last. "Somewhere people who believe can go to pray, reflect or just meditate, and where spirits and mortals can mingle and meet in peace and quiet. I need to finish sanctifying the base anyway, and I think this would be a good lynchpin."

And if he's given the permission, Reiji goes about doing so.

...It takes him all night, but there's presumably enough organic materiel around to make it happen.

He's about ready to collapse by the end of it, but it's a satisfying, pleased sort of exhaustion. Possibly on the nearest sofa to the first sublevel's coffee maker.
Lory Thumper      All in all, Lory thinks that this has gone pretty well! She shakes hands with any of the others in the final meeting, and salutes Eryl sharply when he thanks them all. But, then there is the question of the extra mile. What could she do to go that extra mile? She taps her little bunny paw as she thinks, and her ears twitch every now and then. Then, she looks at her body cam and gets an idea.

She spends the night putting together a PR video showing all the people from different worlds and different walks of life working together to get the base up and running. She even narrates a bit, pointing out how everyone worked together in harmony. She would include a recording of the salvaged generator and tell about how they recruited the down on their luck salvagers and paid them for their salvage and hard work. She would of course include a short bit about the vertical farm, the training facilities, and the comfortable barracks to show that the Paladins care about the welfare of everyone from the Elites down to the rank and file soldiers and the laborers.

And she would include the recording of Eryl in that last meeting, showing he is up and about and still able to lead despite his injuries, as well as showing his warm and inspiring personality.

The end of the video is a sunrise view of the base from beyond the entrance, with the sun steadily rising to show the grandure of the base and represent the new dawn of the Paladins.
Rhongomyniad     "We are Paladins. Our headquarters should reflect such. Perhaps symbolic more than functional, but no less valuable."

The Ad Coelum crater has been abustle with activity for the past several days. And standing over it, upon the crater's edge, has been the jewel-eyed King of Knights, the Lion King, Goddess Rhongomyniad. She's there periodically, though not constantly, observing the building process.

Today is different. Today, the budding facility will gain a boon from the Goddess of Chivalry. Standing upon the edge of the crater, Rhongomyniad produces the Divine Lance in a flash of sparks. The steel strap braiding unravels, revealing the glowing core of light concealed beneath. Sections of unclaimed ground outline themselves in that same golden light.

As Rhongomyniad proceeds down the main road into the facility grounds, castle walls rise from these marked areas. To either side of the road, forming a defensive trench. A gatehouse erects. Towers uncurl in strategic positions.

In a process which consumes many hours through the night, the Divine Lance deploys a shining castle to protect that which the other Paladins have been building, overseeing, and assembling.

Given the time constrait, perhaps it is not so intricate as the Holy Castle City of Camelot, but she has no need to produce an entire city on her own this time around, not with the efforts of those who have been involved.
Eryl Fairfax     The base is complete.

The central structure is a massive, shining castle, generously donated by the Lion King herself. It's appearance is a massive spectacle, given that the base had no apparent central structure for the whole two weeks. It took careful planning for a more modern skeleton to be laid down for the castle to grow around. Burning braziers mix with more modern lighting, tapestries adorn the walls around the eight elevators that service the higher floors and underground vaults. The incredible dining hall created by Gawain is within too, as are the dormitories and offices and training rooms. The courtyard bears an onsen, and a massive covered structure. Eryl's private project.

Surrounding this is a beautiful base of clean black roads and white footpaths interweaving the beautiful gardens and thriving plant life. Modern electrical cars hum along the roads between the garages and stables, and the VTOL pads and hangers. Religious shrines of all stripes adorn the grounds, facing in any significant way they need to face and tastefully adorned thanks to Reiji's hard work.

A massive, vertical farm sits atop one of the crater hills. Thanks to the efforts of Lory, no one on base will ever go hungry. Excess produce is distributed to those in need. Power lines thrum as the feed the satellite arrays arranged by Tina and the server room constructed by I4, ensuring a constant stream of information is coming in, parsed, and sent out.

Security guards constantly wander the grounds. Thanks to the training rooms provided by Gawain and Rean, and the excellent training provided by Thors Military Academy, they are more prepared to repel anything like what happened on the Ad Coelum.

Barely anything is left of the As Coelum wreck. Near all of it was repurposed to keep costs low. Every cent was spent, even with extra fundraising, but they did it. The Paladins did not break the bank on this marvellous new base.

Eryl is at the opening ceremony, whereupon the pulls the blanket off his project. He salvaged the Ad Coelum's rudder, and upon it, he engraved every single name lost in the destruction of the ship. A moment of silent is observed, before mingling and hors d'oeuvre. The base is gladly accepted by a happy public. Confidence in the faction has been restored thanks to everyone's efforts. Keeping the Commonwealth and the public happy is no mean feat, and Eryl is loose with the compliments to everyone for achieving it.
