Yang Xiao Long     Mountain Glenn was an attempt by the kingdom of Vale to expand its holdings a few decades ago.

This attempt failed, and the large perimeter wall looms over a ruined cityscape of crumbling monolithic skyscrapers, broken buildings and shattered concrete and tarmac, roads reclaimed partially by weeds and hardy grasses, a few trees having found soil beneath the artificial top cover and broken through by virtue of years.

The sounds of battle echo through the broken streets, the outer perimeter, having been reinforced in the three years since the last Great Horde rolled through the area, can be heard firing high caliber cannons, rapid-cycle autoguns and clashing steel with steel-hard claws.

A Bullhead transport swoops overhead, depositing its contents in the middle of a large, open area that was once the town square, ringed by broken businesses, and dominated by a tilted monument to man's hubris, a broken sign reading: Merlot Industries hanging off-kilter from the dangerously leaning building's upper floors.

Yang drops from the Bullhead, cracking her knuckles as she prepares to join the fray. "I wish my teammaters were here..." she muses quietly to herself, but shakes off the funk to focus on the threat at hand. "The perimeter team should be able to hold off the majority of the horde, our job is to stop any that break through from reaching the wall. There's a break that they could slip through, and if even one Grimm gets into the city proper, we could lose the whole place from the panic and fear that'll cause which will just bring more Grimm down on us."
Note     The transport's not the only thing flying in the sky! Somewhere along its journey, a small SOMETHING wrapped up in layers of churning white light, leaving a long but rapidly dissipating tail of said energy pulled up alongside them, staying about two hundred feet off and easily matching pace.

Perhaps a little alarming if nobody inside recognizes the signs of Ki-based flight being used by a particularly powerful individual. Someone with more than enough energy to spare on such a wasteful method of propulsion.

Exactly what it is should become even more apparent when all of that white energy briefly concentrates inwards, and with a golden flash it all erupts backwards in an even bigger flare of mighty power.

Wrapped up in a storm of golden energies, the flier dips downwards and enters a dive. Down, DOWN, DOWN the anomaly goes, accelerating like a rocket...
Lory Thumper      After Yang lands a pretty short figure lowers down on a grappel line. Clad in full riot gear and with a pair of bunny ears poking up through her helmet, Lory Thumper looks around as she activates her holo-hud. "...people still live here? This place looks like a post-apocalyptic movie set." the bunny says as she retracts her grappel line from the Bullhead, then pulls both her guns before scanning the area.

"So, if there are none of these Grimm monsters in here yet, why aren't we backing up the perimeter team until some Grimm do break through?" she asks, ears perked and eyes continuing to scan even while she speaks. She looks up as that...something comes flying toward them, and brings her guns up. It doesn't really match what she read about the Grimm, but until it is identified, better safe than sorry.
Rean Schwarzer Rean arrives on the airship, not long after Lory does. He's not sure what to say- this place is a mess, and aside from what he read, he really didn't know much about Yang's world. Still, he's ready to deal with whaever gets thrown at him.
Yang Xiao Long     "Noone lives out here anymore." replies Yang to Lory, glancing skywards as Note comes screaming down. "Always gotta make a flashy entrance." she chuckles, then looks back to Rean as he disembarks.

The Bullhead then lifts back up, and turns toward the wall. <"Good luck out there. I'll be back with reinforcements in about ten minutes."> radios the pilot. "As to being up with the perimeter team, we'd just get in the way. They're trained for regimented line fighting, Hunters are all about mobility and unorthodox tactics... it's like oil and water, we don't mix."

The battle rages, the sounds of men and beast dying echoing hauntingly through the broken streets. A radio call comes through from the perimeter team after about a minute. <"Breakthrough in sector two, we've got a perimeter breach! Readjust the lines, don't let them get into the rearguard!">

Yang calls back. <"Huntress Xiao Long here, I've got a small team of Elites in sector two, we'll move in to plug the hole, funnel them our way."> before she sets off jogging. "Follow me, we've gotta get into position so those guys don't get swarmed."
Note     Having slammed down just behind the front lines, having predicted where the beasts are going to break through... there stands Note, surrounded in a bright and oddly noisy fiery aura of golden light, her hair wafting upwards in a strange spiky arrangement and normally-black eyes currently shimmering a light green shade... both narrowed with simmering battle spirit.

Here come the beasts, and the Super Saiyan is ready to face them head-on!

"Come on, slowpokes! ... I -really- need to teach you how to flyyyyy!" She hollers over at Yang and Rean... then she spots Lory. She blinks a few times, clearly unsure what to make of a rabbit person dressed like that!
Lory Thumper      Lory blinks at the reply from Yang. "Wait...if no one lives out here why is there military deployment against these things here? Is it just a matter of population control from a fortified position?" she asks. Yang seems to know who or what that incoming golden glow is, so Lory relaxes. When they near Note it is Lory's turn to blink. She still isn't the best at judging human age, but this girl seems pretty young for either fighting or having that much apparent power.

When they do reach Note, Lory's blinks. "Hey...haven't we met?" she asks, then hmms. "Note, right? I think we ran into each other at that Bar and Grill with Staren." Her ears perk at the mention of learning how to fly. "That would be pretty neat, actually." she says. Rean is here too, and he gets a wave from Lory. "Hey there, Rean. How are things with the Bleublanc situation?" she asks even as she checks her guns and other weapons, waiting for these things called Grimm to arrive. Lory hasn't encountered them before, but from the data she was able to read on the way here they seem like very bad news.
Rean Schwarzer "We haven't heard from him again," Rean says to Lory. "Instructor Sara said she'd look into it."

Oh, yeah. Note could fly. That one time he got to do it was fun. "Maybe I'll take you up on that?" Rean says.
Yang Xiao Long     "I like my feet on the ground, Note. Thanks though." she replies to the Saiyan girl. As to Lory, she responds. "We have this outer perimeter, because Vale's wall has a big old hole in it right now, and the Grimm like to get really active this time of year for some reason... it's not a permanent position, but it's a better one than trying to defend the wall breach with a plug of bodies. Thin them out here, then hunters and the like can mop up the stragglers."

She sets up next to the Saiyan, as the movements of riflemen in the buildings to either side can be seen. They're setting up a 'killzone' and banking on the Elites to hold the Grimm up long enough to thin out the horde.... and a horde it is. The area is a long, wide boulevard, probably the former main thoroughfare for the township. The road is split into two sides, three lanes each with a former divider in the middle with shattered concrete bollards. At the far end, smoke rises from an overrun fortification, the broken barrel of a large cannon sticking up in the air. The worst part though, is the seemingly flowing blackness that surges over it, like a river of malice, dotted with bone-white and baleful red... thousands of pairs of red dots advancing down the street toward the defenders.

"Here they come! Don't get separated!"
Note     Indeed, Lory has seen Note, and vice-versa! At the time though, the tailed youth wasn't glowing like a tiny sun and her hair was CERTAINLY not wild delinquency central on full display like this...

With an enthusiastic, grinning nod to Rean and a quick smile to Lory, Note faces the onrushing monsters next to Yang!

"That's right. Note of Kokkara Village!" Flexing every limb's muscles at once and digging deep into her spirit, Note causes her burning aura to flare and rage like a torrent, increasing to four times her own actual size. And in the next moment she flings both hands forwards and unleashes twin streams of energy that sail through the air towards the front of the onrushing horde....

Streams that will go off with MIGHTY kabooms.

"And I REALLY. HATE. FIGHTING. GRIMM." More energy streams follow as she pumps her arms with each word, launching blast after blast systematically in hopes of just wiping them out.
Lory Thumper      Lory nods at Rean's reply, but then has to cover her eyes against the increased glowing from Note. Then...the bunny cop's eyes go wide as saucers as she sees the flood of Grimm coming toward them. "...holy shiitaki mushrooms..." She isn't equipped for this! She swallows nervously, then checks her weapons once more. "Okay...this -is- what I signed up for..." she says quietly to herself as she pulls a number of black and yellow discs from her belt and prepares to throw them.

Then Note fires those beams...and Lory wonders if she is even -needed- here. "Ehehe...so it seems." she says to Note before spinning to get some extra power to her throws. Several of those discs go flying, then with another spin another set goes out. Black first, then yellow.

The black discs explode on impact with the incoming Grimm, and then the yellow. But, when the yellow discs explode, instead of actually hurting them it covers a good number of them in quick-hardening riot foam, meant to lock people down for easier arrest. It isn't going to stop many in the grand scheme of things here, but...what else can a fairly normal bunny cop do?
Yang Xiao Long     Note carves a pair of deep furrows through the oncoming Grimm. Black smoke rises from the vaporized corpses, but they keep on coming. Beowolves and Ursa, some Creeps, and a Beringal! Yang adds her own shots to Note's beams, and manages to trim back a few more.

Lory's disc grenades go off, crippling some Grimm, and locking down patches, that are summarily sniped out by the supporting soldiers in the buildings. The Beringal bellows, beating its chest and unceremoniously picking up some of its smaller brethren and hurling them as living projectiles at the defenders in the street, Beowolves tumbling through the air, and swiping as they get close enough... that thing needs to die. Now.
Note     When Lory hurls her gadgets, Note pauses the onslaught - but only for a bit. Seeing the riot foam throwing off some of the Grimm, she blinks a little. "Huh, cool! Didn't know stuff could do that..."

That litle pause over though, she continues hurling out brilliant spears of energy. Little care is spent towards the mess she's making of the ground or anything BEHIND the Grimm, as stopping them in their tracks is far more important.

"I don't like fighting them because for most, all they know how to do is CHARGE. They're BORING! Suppose I shouldn't complain too much though... this isn't REALLY about having fun!"

There are SO many things wrong with that statement, probably. What kind of 'little girl' says anything like that?
Lory Thumper      Lory can't help a bit of a smirk when Note says her gadgets are cool. "Cool, yes. But, I'd never be able to stop a horde like that one." she says as she fires some shots from her gauss pistols. Then...flying Grimm! Or at least falling with style Grimm! Lory pulls some more of those yellow grenades.

Her intention is to lock a number of them together, then as they get near to landing she leaps backward, somersaulting through the air and firing on the foam-locked Grimm. She lands, then raises an eyebrow at Note. "That's true, but...since when are kids so serious?"
Yang Xiao Long     Yang deploys her special system, three additional barrels extending from her right gauntlet. She then throws the arm forward and fires a concentrated blast from four shells going off at once. This staggers the Beringal long enough for one of the sniper teams to nail it with anti-material rounds... when the Beringal goes down, the other, larger 'Adult' Grimm snarl, and let out a howl/roar/growl, which makes the rest of the horde turn and begin fleeing.
Note     And THAT comment leaves Note growling a little. "Hey! Watch who you're calling 'kid!' I'm a martial artist. Been training my whole life!" And it's probably pretty odd that this kid has a monkey tail, of all things. Maybe not so odd to a rabbit-person, though. But Yang over there doesn't have one!

... And is proof that you don't need a tail to kick all kinds of ass...

With the horde beginning to turn around, Note takes a step forward and holds a hand out, frustration building to a point where her expression sharpens to almost cruel determination--

And yet, with a deep breath, she takes a step back and relaxes. That pulsing, brilliant aura's snuffed out with a *splutter-crack* and with it, her hair fades back from gold to black, eyes from green to black as well. Whatever strange power held it up dissipates and the spiky arrangement falls back into a smooth cut and ponytail combo. And with that... what would seem to be an EXTREME amount of twisted hostility just splutters out like a smothered campfire.

"Whew..." The youth rubs her forehead a bit, wiping away perspiration. Finally she can flash a cheerier, more natural grin at Lory. "I dunno why! That Super thing just makes me all tense and RAAAWR growly. It's just about impossible to keep my cool!"
Lory Thumper      Lory blinks in surprise at the rather angry reply from Note. "What! There's nothing wrong with being a kid! It just means you are below a certain age!" she says in a placating tone. The monkey tail is a bit odd, but humans look a lot like monkeys so...

And Yang does indeed prove you don't need a monkey tail to cause mass destruction. Of course, Lory knew that already, having seen Yang fight in the Shrine before. Still, she is pretty amazed at the destructive power between these two. And it leaves her a bit worried about what might happen if someone who wasn't quite so heroic with powers like these two actually made it to her world.

Note powers down, and Lory looks a bit relieved after that growly reply from before. "That's...kind of bad." she says, looking slightly concerned about the rage factor of such a powerful form.

The Grimm start retreating after Yang disposes of what was apparently some kind of Grimm general, and Lory relaxes a bit. "So...it's over?"
Yang Xiao Long     "For now, yeah. They'll be back, in greater numbers, but we should have the wall repaired by then." she replies to Lory, while collapsing her gauntlets. The perimeter team moves back into the bunker that was overrun, gunshots ringing out as they fire into the retreating mass of Grimm, picking off more as they retreat back into the wilderness. "C'mon, I'll treat you both to some ramen from this place I know in town. The owner says I remind him of one of his regulars back in his own world... some kid with blonde hair, Narrigo or something? I dunno."
