Tina Natsumi "We can take them. It'll be risky, but we can handle it!"
"... No."
"Come on. We've done this kind of thing before, just the two of us."
"Only by necessity. We can't risk it again."
"You remember the last time, don't you? Is the mayor really worth it?"
"... Yes."

The dock at Virtua City could not be any more different from the city itself. Whereas the city proper had contained an eclectic mix of cultures and tastes from a wide variety of income brackets, the dock hits the other end of the spectrum by catering exclusively to the stupidly rich. Yachts and cruise ships of all shapes and sizes are docked at each pier, and it's at pier #10 where today's distress call leads the Elites responding to or adding to the crisis at hand.

The mayor is on board the yacht docked at pier #10, and multiple limousines are parked around the parking lot leading to the main terminal bearing the insignias of several different countries. The distress call had mentioned that the mayor of Virtua City had invited the foreign dignitaries and wealthy investors to the city's grandest display of opulence in order to gain their approval for building a new stadium.

Naturally, that made the entire event a target for E.V.I.L. Inc. as demonstrated by the sheer number of definitely-not-dignitaries present. Two familiar officers are already on the scene: The brown-haired and straight-laced Michael Hardy, and the blonde-haired and laid-back James Cools. The officers are taking cover behind the ticket booth leading towards the parking lot and main terminal as they take pot shots at moustache-bearing men in military gear and goons in sports jackets. A familiar robot and cowgirl combo are also on the scene, spraying covering fire down from another ship nearby to cover the officers' advance.
Android 17 Android Seventeen, summoned by trouble has decided to show up when he heard the call for help go out.  Unlike what others have done to put their support in a group literally called EVIL, Seventeen has no such desires to help the group.  However, he's not very trusting of the cops either, so he simply walks by the two who are trying to shoot out the guys.

Hands in his pockets as he slowly walks into the firefight.  When shots fire out at Seventeen, he uses very little movement, but amazing speed to move just enough to avoid shots.  Occasionally moving his arm to catch bullets out of the air, or even swat them away from himself with his bare hands.  He walks, forward, unimpeded by the shots.

His face is that unnerving calm he can seem to do, as he walks towards the first of the gunmen.  His hands snap out, aiming to bend the barrel of their guns up.  He does not attack them unless of course, they swing on him.  Seventeen will go for non-lethal takedowns, as opposed to using too much force to hurt them.
Yang Xiao Long     A motorcycle engine growls deeply as it approaches. The Rider manages to ramp over some containers nearby, sticks the landing and AKIRA slides through the cover some of the EVIL gunmen are using. A leap, a twist and Yang Xiao Long starts to dance between positions, using her gauntlets to launch herself towards a new group before they can react. Any shots that do come her way deflect off her Aura, though some only marginally do so, leaving streaks of blood on her exposed skin, or rents cut out of her outfit, as the golden light flares.
Staren     A small missile flies over the EVIL troops on the docks, and explodes... into a cloud of smoke. Seconds later, Staren dives in from the same direction on wings of light, brandishing shock batons and using non-visual sensors to locate and engage targets in the smoke.

Whether EVIL is actually evil or not... Staren generally tries to match weapons to threat levels. If they're weak enough for this to WORK, then heavier weapons aren't called for. If it doesn't work, then it's time to start escalating until the threat is dealt with.

By now the people of the multiverse are quite familiar with Staren Escalation. But is EVIL?
Gaonoir Did it count as a matter of the sea if the boats were technically still docked? Don't know, don't care, Gaonoir was spoiling for some action and distress call for something vagely boat related was enough that he could claim it Hikari Fleet business if he really need a justification. There's still the chance the terrorists could try to hijack the boat out to sea with the hostages aboard after all.

The shadows near the officers briefly distort with a shimmer of purple upon the black, then make an odd blorping sound as the dark furred canid wearing training gloves and his human sidekick step out of it. Erika immeadiately hunches down near the officers to stay out of sight as well, while Gaonoir is short enough it doesn't really matter. "If I didn't know better," the young lady muses, "I'd swear we just walked into an action movie scene."
"Yeah, so where's the action?" Gaonoir snorts in response, thumping one fist against the palm of the other gloved paw. And then Yang makes an epic entry on her cycle AKIRA style. "That'll do." He briefly steps back into the shadows and disappears again to capitalize on the distraction the blonde bombshell's antics are sure to cause. By teleporting into the shadows of some of the gunmen as they're likely more focused on her. His unfortunate target gets an uppercut suddenly coming at him from below, while the pulse of darkness that follows the rising Digimon out of the shadow would wash over anyone else standing close to him.
Big Boss Among the members of Outer Heaven, nobody loves explosives like Blast Condor does. Equipped with an experimental jetpack from the mercenary outfit's labs, he flies across the water, towards yacht #10, boosting his way around shots that aren't actually targetting him.

He's carrying a missile launcher. Ammunition is strapped to his back in a case, as a pistol remains at his side, as do a /ton/ of grenades around his waist.

"OH YEAH! That's a lot of opposition! This new jetpack will be a beauty...let's rock and roll!"

As Staren blasts his smoke missile, Yang slides in, Gaonoir appears through darkness, and Android 17 goes for non-lethal takedowns, they get responded to. Flitting around the ship near the pier, landing on the top deck of the yacht.

"Ladies, gentlemen, I am Blast Condor! Outer Heaven's premier explosives expert! Let's get this show on the road!" There's an eye out towards a few allies. "Fellow Watchmen, eh...ah, well. That's how it's gotta be." He mutters.

Missiles fire at every target possible, Blast Condor rapidly reloading after every few shots. They detonate violently, making it recommended to try and reach cover to dampen the blasts, get up shields as armor, or keep moving to not take the entire shock to the face.
Tina Natsumi At first, James looks ready to dive out to cover the stranger walking right into the firefight. Michael stops him from being a martyr, though, ignoring the confused look from his partner as he gestures at how calmly Seventeen just kinda... Walks through all the bullets without so much as a scratch. Noting his partner's continued lack of concern following that display, James turns his attention instead towards the motorcycle flying overhead and crashing through a barrier and several of the renegade soldiers. He studies Michael's face for a moment, taking note of how persistently stoic it is, then opts to not charge in.

All the better since Yang seems mostly unfazed by the bullets coming her way as well. Some of the particularly brave mobsters charge at the advancing duo with hatchets and sledgehammers, perhaps emboldened by fervor shown by one Blast Condor. Emboldened by their emboldened allies, further soldiers stream out of the terminal to join in the attack!

Strangely enough, however, some of those soldiers find themselves brought down by something they can't even see at first. The smoke bomb from Staren's craft and Gaonoir's shadowy assault catch several of the renegades off guard, whether by having all their muscles seize up at once or by getting their jaws seized with a fist.

By the time James sees the stun baton wielding science freak and the robotic dog thing on the scene, James is looking about as blank-faced as his calmer partner in crimefighting. It doesn't stop the duo from advancing into the main terminal's building proper, though, diving from cover to cover while it still lasts during Blast Condor's explosive entrance. Tina takes a more rounadabout path towards the yacht as well, where the firefight continues to rage even as the mobsters outside start to dwindle in number. Some of them signal towards Blast Condor to follow them inside while others retreat to join what is undoubtedly a buttload more of them.

There are indeed a buttload more of the mobsters and soldiers inside. Some of them are even armed with shotguns and hunting rifles, ready to do some big damage to anyone underestimating their guns or their numbers. From inside the foyer, there's loads of vending machines and ATMs all over the place, but only the vending machines have actually been cracked open while the ATMs have been left largely intact and undamaged. It appears that E.V.I.L. Inc. is more interested in the human capital here this time around, as dignitaries can already be seen getting chased or dragged away from counters lined with old-fashioned CRT monitors and eye-searing blue backgrounds with white text showing departure times for ships sailing towards AREXANDRA and YOKOHAMA VIRTUACITY.
Yang Xiao Long     And that'd a problem. Staren's smoke makes it hard to detect incoming threats... and despite having the guy literally yelling his arrival, the rocket comes as a surprise and detonates at Yang's feet, sending her flying through the air and through a wall.

That would have been the end of most people, but the debris stirs, and a beat-up, and pissed off looking Huntress drags herself out, racking the slides on her gauntlets while baleful red eyes glare at Blast Condor.

She presses a finger to the earpiece in her ear and simply says, while the wall finishes disintegrating behind her. She subvocalizes into the mic on her throat, then scans the area for the best way inside. The Huntress then launches herself, cracking the pavement. Mid-air, she fires a shot forward, then both gauntlets behind to break a window and get inside. She rolls out, looking around for threats.
Android 17 Seventeen's head snaps towards Condor, following him as the missiles fire down at them all.  Seventeen waits, and then right as they crash into his area, the shield comes up to block the worst of the offenders.  The Android barrier is a green orb, but right now is very much covered by the dust and debris from the explosions.

Out of the dust flies the android, with nary a scratch on him.  Some bruises and torn clothing, but not looking like someone who just took a rocket barrage.  Then he seems to vanish, before appearing right before the Condor.  His foot aims up, aiming to try and launch the jet pack waring mercenary up.

Seventeen travels with him, and while it looks like he's trying to win the fight fast, his actual goal is trying to launch him farther away from the sight to give others time to evac the mayor and dignitaries, as well as deal with EVIL goons.

"So what is it your boss is doing here?  Besides the money."
Gaonoir 'Taking Cover' is pretty much the only thing Erika does in scenerios like this, so her partner doesn't have to worry too much about her. She squats down with her back against some cover, digivice in one hand and tablet propped against her arm so she can use the other hand to click and swipe as needed. Cue explosions in the background somewhere. "Careful, we've got incoming heavy fire!"

At about the same time as a few of the rockets hit the ground not far from where Gaonoir laid out some thugs. He's briefly knocked off his feet but rolls with it, riding out the blastwave long enough to land in a crouch and brake himself to a stop. "I noticed." Oh, and here come more men, with more guns, and they're all getting in the way of getting inside. Gaonoir hffs, rubbing some soot off his face with the back of a glove. " Little busy here, watch my back."

Technically digital, not robotic, but no one is being nitpicky over terminology when there's terrorists to bust. Gaonoir sprints a few steps towards the gunmen, simply not caring if they fire or not as shadowy energy ripples around him. The final dash ends with him throwing out his arms and throwing his weight into a spin, the dark energy twisting around him as he does so until it's a blur of shadows and swinging fists. "SPINNING RUSH!"

Ever see those old cartoons with that tasmanian devil that tears through everything like a tiny tornado? That's pretty much exactly what's hurtling towards the horde of gunmen, the blurring spinning motion making it difficult to tell if their shots are hitting or not through the darkness even as the whirling dervish hurtles towards them.
Staren Destruction rains from the heavens!

The first rocket blasts Staren and sends him flying -- but fortunately, his armor is made to take a few hits like that, and he regains control before hitting any obstacles -- flying first for the cover of the nearest building while tossing out quadrotors from his bag to give him plenty of views of the area.

Staren considers tactical options. Taking this guy down is good, but the higher priority is keeping him away from the others so the mayor can be rescued. How do you lead someone away? Perhaps by giving them a tempting target...

Staren runs out from behind cover, away from the warehouse and the boat, and fires his arm-mounted beam cannons somewhat wildly. Right now he's less focused on actually hitting, and more on keeping pressure up -- and keeping poised to dodge or counter-missile the missiles that come for him!
Big Boss Blast Condor just grins as Yang glares at him, though others come in and attack. Android 17 appears in front of him, as Staren's beams come, and then, 17 kicks him into the air, and travels with him. A beam wildly hits into Condor's shoulder, sending him jerking back, but he just laughs at 17's request. "Even if I knew whatever he was up to, you really think I'd tell you? I trust the commander more than I trust anyone here. He's a real legend."

While hopefully distracting 17 with words, and some motion with the missile launcher, Condor rapidly reaches for a grenade, pulls the pin with a motion of a finger, and moves to plant it on 17, before using the jetpack to kick off him and try and return back to the ship so he can head inside with the goons. Before he's actually in hearing range of the goons, though, he does tell 17 one thing. "I doubt it's as simple as money, if you ask me! The boss isn't a supervillain or anything, y'know?"

As Condor descends, Staren gets a return blast, and then a second return blast to counter his counter-missile. If Staren wants to keep on going with him, though, he might have to actually enter the ship!
Tina Natsumi The goons engaging Gaonoir start to wise up to the Elites' more melee-oriented combat styles after having not one, not two, but three separate people engage them far inside their preferred range of not-the-face. The ones that don't get tossed into the ocean from his wild spin fall back to a more advantageous positon inside with...

The officers. Lacking much in the way of cover, they don't last very long against a hail of bullets before Michael and James turn their attention back to getting into the yacht proper with Seventeen and Staren running interference against Blast Condor. A window gets smashed open, and the firefight inside the foyer becomes immediately visible to Yang on the second floor and Blast Condor and his assailants on the first floor.

Already, machinery is getting wrecked in the firefight as the officers scramble to take down the EVIL Inc. toughs while said toughs bear down on them with guns, hatchets, and even a few grenades. The red carpet is literally laid out for the Elites, too, as the wealth on display during this yacht's unveiling becomes more apparent. Everything is a nice sheen of shiny from being recently wiped and waxed, paintings from all over the world are on full display, and there's a band playing in the distance while everything goes on. Some of the more unlucky trees and monitors in the foyer get shot up and knocked over in the chaos, and one of those CRTs cracks open to reveal a magnum.

Just a regular occurrence in Virtua City, apparently.

As the gunfight progresses, it eventually reaches a proper dining area within the yacht, complete with bottles full of wine, champagne glasses intended for dignitaries to drink from while they're not cowering under booth tables to avoid getting caught in the crossfire, and a full on stage complete with a band playing a strangely appropriate tune for all the fighting going on.

MUSIC: https://youtu.be/xfOWGRmztHM

Also, there's lots of people hiding under tables at the stage. Some of them take the ill-planned option to come out of hiding just long enough to wave their arms in their air shouting "DON'T SHOOT" and "HELP ME" while being perfectly good bullet shields before hiding again, raising questions as to why they came out in the first place. Others are already bolting for the doors when they're opened up by the Elite responders to the crisis, and there's even a few just chatting away and eating like nothing's going on and they're not at massive risk of getting shot during lunch. Eventually, the interior team finds two ways to go: Towards the conveniently labeled BRIDGE where many seacrimes are committed from behind closed doors and windows, and the ONE DECK where other seacrimes are committed in blatant disregard for landlubber laws.
Staren     "It's probably networking. And showing what he can do, and what sort of clientele he's willing to work for." Staren observes.

Staren expends a couple missiles to stop Condor's from reaching him. He can't do that forever, though, and Blast Condor is set up to reload faster than he is.

"Are you nuts?! You'll explode the hostages if you use your missiles in there!" Staren's trying to think of a solution. He throws a few spy drones up at Seventeen, "Get me eyes on him!" and then flies up to the roof of a building (or just stands on the docks, if all the goons there have been cleared out) and readies his JA-12 'One Man Army' sniper laser rifle.

Between that and the beam cannons, he's ready to use repeated energy weapon fire to try and shoot Condor THROUGH the walls. It should be less destructive to the people inside than setting off explosives in a confined space, at least.
Android 17 The grenade is passed onto Seventeen with a very tricky sleight of hand.  This causes the explosion to rock the Android and send him flying in a different direction.  Smoking and hurt the entire way, but despite not having the android barrier up, he was harder than he should be.  Wounds were there, but again, nothing like what a normal person should be when exposed to a grenade.

The words reach the Android, but what follows is a sigh and a deep breath.  Once more, the Android moves with that blurring speed to try and hit the ship.  He moves in a blur, frowning when Staren shoots the ship from the outside.

Seriously...?

Still, he dives in and moves to try and get right back on Condor's trail, aiming to repeatedly punch at him and slowly drive him towards one of the windows.  "Absolutely not," he says, with some frustration and then speaking firmly.  "Your Boss might have some goals, but I am not going to let his methods go anymore.  The people at the top might be willing to turn a blind eye to the stuff some of you people do.."

"But I won't.  That kind of thought process created people like me in the first place."
Yang Xiao Long     Yang watches from her vantage point, she cases the area, watches the movement of the goons, the toughs, the two cops and the other Elites. She shakes her head as the dignitaries do that weird 'pop out to scream' thing, then shrugs and leaps down into a cluster of shooters. She slams her fist into the ground, sending a kinetic pulse out to knock them over, or at least stagger them backward.

Instead of staying to confirm takedowns, she runs toward the Yacht, making her way inside, and to the BRIDGE, shouldercharging the door to get the drop on anyone inside.
Gaonoir As she's technically not a combatant Erika doesn't follow the rest of the Elites out of the dock terminal, instead opting to take cover for herself behind one of the remaining counters. She can observe everything via the link between her devices and her digimon partner, she doesn't need to be right on the battlefront. One window on her tablet keeps ticking up as it keeps tracks of various attacks, criminal action and blantant disreagard for proper gun handling picked up from Gaonoir's proximity as he's fighting his way through the terrorist swarm with the others.

ANd getting shot at repeatedly in the process, sheer enemy numbers making it impossible to dodge everything thrown at them. Though being the durable little bugger he is by the time he tromps into the overly fancy dining hall Gaonoir is only minorly beaten up. Or just doesn't really show much in the way of physical damage, not being organic. Ears flick back in annoyance as people stand up, wave and shout, then duck back in their hiding spots. "Idiots! Just stay down!" Sigh. At least it's not an actual escort mission, those are the worst for stupid actions. He rubs his brow with a palm. "If we deal with this, will it be easier for others to get to the mayor?"

"At the very least it will force them to continue dividing forces," Erika replies over the link even as she flicks her display a few times. "The less bodies they need to pursue through, the better I'd say."

"Fine by me. Fight is a fight." Looks like the gunmen have started getting smart and avoiding him getting close. Heh. Cute. "Lemme show you punks to a table." By kicking a table not being used as a hiding spot over on its side, and then using one of his power punchs to send it hurtling towards the gunmen.

Bad puns and flying furniture. That's what you get for thinking you'd be safe keeping your distance.
Big Boss As Blast Condor goes inside, he's about to say something to 17, when his commander cuts on the line to talk instead. Blast Condor goes quiet, and draws his pistol, firing fast shots at 17 as he follows his trail, avoiding shooting hostages. He's led towards a window, where Staren can snipe him - if Staren wants to risk a beam shot against all the explosives he's mounted on. With his armor, it's unlikely to kill him, but if so, it certainly hurts, staggering him back and allowing 17 to get some more hits in. Blast Condor just spits blood. "I don't question my orders. The commander wouldn't let us down."
Tina Natsumi With all the talk of hostages going on, the hostages themselves certainly seem to have varying levels of self-preservation instincts. Even as Staren's laser goes right through the wall of the yacht, the bolder hostages make the shootout more difficult for everyone involved if they want to avoid nailing them with stray shots. The EVIL Inc. goons don't seem too worried about roughing them up quite as much, but none of them are resorting to outright shooting the hostages themselves even when they seem so unaware of their own mortality.

Perhaps bringing fists to a gunfight wasn't such a bad idea after all. The band certainly seems to be getting fired up as the battle against Blast Condor continues with glass and guns punctuating each strike and shot in time with the beat. Tables go flying as Gaonoir launches furniture at the gunmen, shooting at the Digimon with machineguns and pistols while their numbers dwindle further. Others on the outside of the ship start shooting at Staren from the lounge area to try keeping him at bay while Blast Condor does battle with him and Seventeen, some dressed in full military gear while others don camo-patterned speedos.

Yang takes the initiative in charging towards the BRIDGE, and the officers keep their eyes peeled as they shoot down more of those oncoming soldiers to buy some extra cover for the hostages.

"I knew there'd be a lot of people, but just how many of these troops did EVIL buy off?!"
"Too many. It doesn't make sense. How did so many of them get here on such short notice?"
"I bet they got a lotta cash in their coffers. Could bribe-"
"Since when did you start using old-fashioned words?"
"... Shut up, Mike. Let's just keep moving already!"

Letting Gaonoir handle battering more of the gunmen out of the way, the officers and the cowgirl continue advancing further into the ship on Yang's tail. Weirdly enough, though, the door doesn't actually take her to the bridge. Not immediately, anyway, as Yang instead reaches a long hallway with plenty of side rooms to potentially get lost in. It appears that the path to the bridge is leading them through the passenger cabins, complete with people walking around in various states of sobriety. Some of them even have guns with which to fire on the Elites that aren't assisting EVIL Inc., popping out from behind corners and crawling out from underneath beds with shotguns as if they've been waiting there just for the right moment. There's even goons dropping out of the ceiling vents with goggles covered in soot, but not being able to see might not be much of an issue thanks to the shotguns they're blasting all over the place!
Staren     Staren uses a precisely-aimed burst of laser pulses when he realizes how much explosives Condor is wearing. For now, he'll... continue this. Wait, no, people are shooting at him. Bullets dent his armor before he can duck behind cover, switch weapons, and come out firing controlled bursts from a submachinegun at the guards outside the boat. They're gel bullets that deliver a taser-like shock on impact. Staren has weapons for all occasions!
Yang Xiao Long     Yang stumbles a bit into the long... corridor... "RRRRRAAAAAARRRRGHH.. What the hell is wrong with this place!?" she bellows, stomping along and shotgauntletting anyone with a gun that decides to pop their head out. She can fire them without swinging and just stomps forwards like an angry terminator, ignoring bullets and pellet spreads that nail her dead on. The bullets turn away on her Aura, mitigating the damage they can cause by forcing them to skim across the skin, instead of piercing through into vitals.

The Berserk Brawler advances and fires, backhanding someone that pops out right beside her without skipping a beat. "I'm gonna ram this whole damn yacht up the designers ass." she growls, mostly to herself.
Android 17 Seventeen keeps up the chase, but these bullets are not the same fire from the minions before.  They are quicker, but more accurate in their shot, forcing Seventeen to react faster to catch or block them.  This prevents him from using the full use out of his barrier, causing more blood to run down his body, though no shots outright pierce his skin.

Staren eases off Condor and goes after goons, which works for Seventeen's favor.

The two face-off, as Condor makes his claim, Seventeen commends his loyalty.  The man might have figured out what the goal here, but it is precisely because of that goal he can't lay off.  Shrugging, Seventeen keeps pushing forward.

"I never was a good soldier, I disobey orders I don't like all the time...but that's fine.  Each of us has our own goals," he says, and comes back in again, once more aiming to slam his fists, aiming for armor specifically.  He wants to knock the man down, not kill him.  Though Seventeen doesn't hold his force back...Condor is still dangerous regardless.
Gaonoir There's little hit flashes and some digital motes flicking off into the air as he's hit with rifle and shotgun fire, slowly wittling away at Gaonoir's defenses even as he's whittling down the numbers of the terrorists. A sensible, cautious person would dodge or something. The digimon is really neither of those. But he has his limits... Meaning it's time to up them, if just to balance out the insane number of threats there still are, and the insane layout of the ship. "Enough wasting time in this hellhole." Gaonoir plants one foot forward, braces arms flexed at his sides, and sucks in a breath that makes little whisps briefly visible in the air because there'd be no way to see he's inhaling otherwise. Then...

"Wild EchooooOOOOOOOOO!"

He's a dog, a howl shouldn't be much surprise. The surprise is that this howl is sending a blast of hypersonic waves out. The kind that make the ears bleed and heads throb, screwing with the senses as victims struggle to not just pass out entirely from the auditory assault.
Big Boss Injured, Blast Condor continues to fight, facing off with Seventeen. As fists move for armor, the pistol clatters to the ground, but that doesn't leave Condor defenseless. He's an explosives expert, sure...

But every member of Outer Heaven has been trained in CQC.

As he staggers backwards, weakened, Condor suddenly comes in with several hand strikes, moving for spots to slow 17 and stagger him backwards as well. Blast Condor isn't an expert in CQC like some other operatives, but he knows enough to not be in big trouble without a gun.
Tina Natsumi Those soldiers harassing Staren with gunfire soon find themselves beset with taser bullets leveld against them. Unlike Staren, however, they don't quite have that same level of mobility, and several of them go down with each sweep of his gun. Despite being on the deck with so much space to maneuver, it doesn't really compare to being able to maneuver freely while flying. What they do have going for them, however, are grenades (which they toss liberally, rocking the boat be damned) and sheer numbers!

Numbers that are drastically going down both inside and out as the fighting goes through the entirety of the yacht over time, but still. Those fighting inside don't fare quite so well, though, with the cramped quarters already making aiming such weapons more difficult on top of having to deal with rescuers more suited to close-range engagements such as this. For each shot actually fired on Yang from a shotgun or pistol, she's already taken several shots or punches of her own.

Gaonoir's roaring attack, meanwhile, works wonders in such relatively cramped spaces. Although the hallways leading through the passenger cabins are quite spacious and decked out in fancy carpeting as expected for a yacht of this caliber, they're still hallways. The sound echoes, and numerous gangsters fall unconscious from the sounds blasting out their eardrums. A few of the dignitaries go down as well, but... Well.

They'll recover. The officers don't seem too worried, at least, as they have enough sense to actually be wearing ear protection with all the gunshots going around.

"Sheesh. Just how many rooms does this boat need?!" James echoes Yang's irritation with the yacht as he fires into one passenger room while Michael kicks the door open to a double door, gunning down another mobster and signaling to the hostage inside to stay down.

"Enough for an army. This isn't just a yacht." Michael observes as he steps aside to let James and the others see just why the blonde cop is so confused by that statement: They've come across a server farm.

"The heck? Why would they need this many computers in one place?"
"We'll have to find out once we finish up here. I see the mayor."

Indeed, a balding man in a vest can be seen further past the server room talking with a strangely armored man in an incredibly red helmet. Several of the foreign dignitaries are in the bridge, too, although they're all blindfolded and some appear to have been knocked out.
Android 17 The two's fist collides, the two struggling for the upper hand against the other.  Seventeen has things he can use, but to use them would put them all in danger.  Condor is having trouble getting his own weapons to bear, without Seventeen being ready for them.  The problem with a sneak attack is that it only works once.

The hand strikes aim for Seventeen, but he moves to block the first and slams his arm down on the second aiming to trap his arm between his arm and body.  Seventeen tries to use his other hand to try and smack the side of his shoulder and neck with a quick chop of his hand.
Staren     Thrown grenades are... slow. Staren can see them coming and dodge them, although repeated damage to available cover might give him trouble hiding from followup bullets.

Staren continues firing taser rounds, hoping that they run out of people before he's left with no cover and exposed to a bullet storm.
Yang Xiao Long     Yang smashes in a door, and wades through the server farm. She's just about had it with this place and stomps right up toward the balding man and the guy in the helmet. "Right, don't tell me you're actually the bad guy and we've been beating up /your/ people to get here." she says, fists clenched and not taking cover in the least. She does spare a moment to glance at the unconscious dignitaries though.
Gaonoir They're unconcious, and not running around to potentially get shot or taken hostage more directly rather than being in the vicinity aboard the captured yatch. As far as he cares Gaonoir did those dignitaries a favor. Just not the sort to fuss over such things.

He's also kinda wondering if Yang isn't somehow part Flamedramon, the way she keeps blast punching her way through everything else in the way. Gal after his own core code, really. She's probably going to rush right in to punch that guy in armor that comes into view as they near the open doorway.

Direct sight is all he needs and after a few bounding strides he flashes away in a poof of darkness once more. He reappears on the other side of the balding and armored figures, more or less cornering them between himself and Yang. "Might want to call off what remains of your goons before we gotta curbstomp the rest of em." That he's likely exposing himself to several of said goons in the room? Nope, don't really care. More focused on the fact that their boss is probably going to try and ditch out and someone needs to not leave him an opening to do so.
Big Boss As Seventeen traps Condor's arm, chopping at his next, the soldier vocally grunts, staggered and winded. He's going to get taken out at this point, thanks to the sniper shot, if he can't move quickly. So he does what any sane man would do...

But not really, because he fires up that jetpack indoors, and strafes backwards, moving to either pull back through the window and pull Seventeen with him, or lose his foe. A grenade is pulled off the belt and thrown through the window. It might frighten for a second, but as Condor say, they're not sloppy enough to kill hostages.

Smoke proceeds to fill the room, allowing Condor enough time to fly up and regrab his missile launcher. He taps into his comms on his ear. <"Are they ready yet? It's time to fly!"> He communicates to EVIL Inc. He might not like them...

But currently, he's working for them. So, what will you do?
Tina Natsumi Luckily for Staren, the military deserters on the deck thin out enough that he can finally get some time to breathe. He'll notice some strange movements coming from the bridge soon, though, as the balding man Michael indicated to be the mayor doesn't seem too happy with the armored man. Their conversation doesn't last long as the Elites and the officers step forward. Yang's the first to speak up, drawing a confused look from the mayor and a... Something look from the man in the armor.

It's hard to tell with the helmet obscuring all of his face. The mayor looks apalled at the accusation, and then confused when Gaonoir exists. It's like he's never seen a Digimon before or something.

"Freeze, punk! We can do this the easy way or the hard way!" The armored man laughs at James' warning even as the officer circles around him, creating a sort of triangle with Gaonoir and Yang. Undeterred, the armored man boots the mayor towards the officer, launching himself backwards through the bridge's window. <<"We're ready, pardner. Let's stick it to these fools!">> The armored man responds with a distinctly Southern drawl through his earpiece as he crashes straight through the window, wings springing out from his back as he takes to the sky outside of the bridge. The wings aid the armored man as he starts flying around the bridge, and four more similarly armored fliers join him from around the ship.

"Aero-Divers, assemble! Now die!" "Die!" "Di-" "D-" "Die!"

Their voices ring out in not-unison-at-all, but their ability to work together is not evident from coordinated threats. No, it becomes apparent that they actually know what they're doing as the Aero-Divers start flying in what looks like haphazard and random patterns while firing missiles seemingly at random. A more trained eye will notice, however, that their shots are coming in at incredibly exact timings at specific enough differences that it'd be hard even for a skilled fighter to avoid all of them!

Which is why they're not aiming for a person at all. They're aiming for the bridge, intent on murdering everyone in that room with their explosives. The officers and Tina do what they can in shooting those missiles to detonate them before they can reach the ship, but there's way more missiles than there are people shooting down the missiles!
Android 17 The grenade flies at the window, and the Android barrier flies to life to try and cover the civilians behind him, but mostly to keep shards of glass out of his eyes.  Condor takes to flight, but right now he was sure he had to do what he could to make sure no parting shots were made.

Of course, there was something that changed.  Seventeen's hearing causes his head to snap.  He watches the group starting to coordinate.  With a flash of movement, he moves towards the bridge and generates the shield.

Putting everything he had into the Android Barrier, Seventeen tries to shield it with himself, trying to buy everyone enough time to take down the people actually trying to blow up the bridge.
Big Boss Well, this ABSOLUTELY wasn't part of the plan. Killing the hostages was never discussed, and Big Boss doesn't like it. But he's not going to abandon his partnership. A few sacrifices...perhaps necessary, but he's hedging on a bet.

Staren will be able to shoot down a few of the missiles should that be the path he takes, before another missile flies at him. Blast Condor, taking to the sky, speaks to him.

"Seems like the boss says you're the bigger threat."

Blast Condor is lying, and he's not good at it. Something has changed. He's clearly stressed, as he readies and fires another missile. He's trying to distract Staren, it seems.
Staren     Staren finally gets some breathing room. As he prepares for another shot at Condor, though... Suddenly, there are crashes and broken windows and LOTS of people flying around on jetpacks.

Who start blowing up the ship. "Oh COME ON!" Well, they're flying OVER the ship, not ON it, so Staren fires all his missiles to try and take them and Condor all out at once.

This leaves him with no more counters against Condor's missiles. He's able to raise his forcefield, but it's quickly smashed as Staren is knocked back, tumbling across the docks.

"Nngh... 'We don't kill hostages', huh? Well, I guess it's clear what Big Boss cares about..."
Yang Xiao Long     Yang is about to throw herself out in chase of the armoured guy, but stops as three more show up and start launching rockets at the bridge. "Well, crap." she quickly reloads, and starts firing interception bolts from her gauntlets, punching a packet of explosive Dust that tracks into the nearest target, the missiles. They detonate with a grenade-size boom, so hopefully she can at least protect one side from those random missile shots. "Why don't ya come say that to my face asshole!" she yells, punctuating her punches with her words... or words with punches. It's hard to tell which honestly.
Gaonoir Gaonoir .. for a moment just slaps a gloved palm to his face as the armored man still manages to leap past them, through a window, and orders some insane everyone dies attack. "Why can they just never accept defeat as it is.." is growled briefly under his breath. Dear mods, to think this is the way -he- use to operate...

The introspective doesn't last long though before he's back in action, running to leap through the same window the armor clad madman had already busted before 17 puts up his shield, and drops out of view.

Only for there to be a flash of energy below, the roar of engines, and he rises back up into view now in his own jetpack sporting evolved form. Clenches the massive bionic gauntlets digitalizing over his hands as they're already crackling with more of that dark energy. "Frag this nonsense.... TENEBRAE TORNADO!"

Not literally a tornado, this time. But it's as fast and savage as one as he uses both high speed flight and his telefraging to bolt through the air and just PUNCH PUNCH PUNCH various missiles mid-air. Naturally this makes them explode right in his face, but he's stubborn like that, eating the damage in order to tele-rocket-punch through as much of the bombardment as he can.
Tina Natsumi Under normal circumstances, the Aero-Divers' missiles would make short work of a room filled with unarmored hostages. These are anything but normal circumstances, though, and their missiles don't quite do the damage they were expecting. Android 17's barrier protects the bridge from the worst of the damage, stopping the explosives from reaching the squishy human cargo inside. Yang's gauntlet shots further reduces the damage to the bridge and the stress to the android's shields further, and Gaonoir's warping even manages to draw some sortof looks from the Aero-Divers when he just eats those explosives head-on.

It realy is hard to tell what they're thinking behind those helmets.

With so many Elites keeping those missiles at bay, Staren, Tina, and the officers are given free reign to focus entirely on bringing down the Aero-Divers rather than splitting their attention between offense and defense. The quintet maneuvers surprisingly well, capable of weaving around handgun shots easily enough.

Unfortunately for them, they're not just facing handguns. They have to contend with handguns, missiles, their own missiles exploding mere feet away from them, and a pair of machineguns firing on them all at once. One by one, the Aero-Divers start going down, each one plummeting into the sea as even their jetpack-aided mobility fail them.
Yang Xiao Long     Yang watches the Aero-Divers fall into the water, does a quick pass on her throat mic, then just leaps out of the broken window after them. She dives down and grabs each one, breaking straps to release them from their flight rigs and drags them to the surface, depositing them unceremoniously on the dockside, before diving back down again. She's not built for aquatic ops, but being as strong as she is, she's able to scoop a lot of water and move pretty quick, though she probably won't be able to save all five.
Big Boss Blast Condor just laughs as Staren speaks, but it sounds pained. He doesn't shoot again, instead flying behind the ship. His jetpack's running out of fuel, as a helicopter flies by, opening the door for him to land outside. "Mission accomplished, huh? Let's get out of here."

Pequod pulls away, as they contact EVIL to tell them of what's happened and that the data's been retrieved. Mission...accomplished...
Gaonoir By the end of it Gaonoir is starting to actually show the effects of constantly throwing himself face first at heavily armed enemies. No guts and gore like there would be with an organic body, but the cracks in his exterior texture are getting more noticable, occasionally dripping some of the dark digital substance that permutes his physical form like blood. One of of his scarf is on fire from all the missile explosions, until he finally grabs it with one gauntlet to smother out the flames.

He'd be all for just letting the punks sink, but it seems majority rule is to rescue them. Welp, they can at least be properly punished for their crimes or whatever.

Thankfully someone else drives into the water and break them men out of their heavy gear. So he only has to hover at the surface to grab them as they're brought up by Yang. Phenominal strength is kind of his thing, even in a beaten and worn state he's plenty strong enough to haul a few out and toss them on the deck of the ship for the cops to properly restrain.
Android 17 Seventeen drops to a knee after taking what he could from the missiles.  Thankfully, people managed to take the pressure off of him a bit, and of course the source of those missiles.  Hurt, and a bit strained, he sits there for a few moments, before raising to his feet again.

He watches people work, and decides to just sit down and wait for things to get firmly under control.
Staren     Staren grunts as he pulls himself to his knees, then his feet. The armor has made sure that his insides weren't reduced to chunky salsa, but he's still getting banged up and bruised inside the armor.

And then his medichines release painkillers and he feels alright again.

Staren keeps shooting the remaining aero-divers with his laser rifle until they're all down. Then... Yang has an interesting idea. Staren scans the depth of the water here, and if it's at all practical, calls in constructs to retrieve them from the bottom. As long as he can get to them before their brains begin to rot, they can be interrogated in virtual reality; to learn of their plan and their organization.

If he can find the time for the Aero-Divers, that is. Are there hostages down that need his revival technology? Also, those stunned henchmen need to be riot foamed to the street until the police can pick them up for interrogation, too.
Tina Natsumi With the Aero-Divers subdued and accounted for, the officers don't bother giving chase when Blast Condor makes his escape. It's not as if they could do much considering the helicopter being a helicopter, but they're far more concerned with cuffing the fliers and securing the hostages than they are with shooting down the vehicle.

Of course, that still leaves the issue of the mayor's conversation. The officers give each other knowing looks as they salute the gathered Elites. "Thanks for the assist, folks. We'll take it from here." James speaks up while Michael heads back to the server room, speaking through the radio and distinctly away from where the mayor's still in and out of consciousness from getting kicked into body armor face-first.

<<"We're going to have to look into the circumstances surrounding this incident further. We'll get in touch with you again once we have further information, but right now...">> Michael glances back at the dignitaries, the significantly less-injured mayor, and then rubs his forehead lightly.

<<"Get some rest. The worst isn't over. Not by a long shot.">> James groans in annoyance seconds later.
