Tomoe SAO Earth
Japan
Island of Hokkaido
With ongoing diplomatic efforts between the Sundew Kingdom and the Concord? Things have not come to blows with Japan and the Dark Elves. Their scouts have been seeking with the help of local Augma users, thanks to Tomoe. For the mission of seeking the dragon Sunfall. While there had been signs of the Dragon? There had been no direct contacts with it so far.

A call for aid has gone out from the Japanese Government for a situation in the new game zone on Hokkaido which seems to be growing.

In the small town of Toyako located near Mount Usu a somewhat active volcano. The volcano is not doing anything today, no the problem is something else. A large number of Orcs and Oni are massing on the mountains and look to be soon to come charging down towards the town of around ten thousand people. What's worse the police while they are moving to deploy are too few to hold back the tide.

The JSDF? The local forces are already dealing with another incident elsewhere and won't be able to arrive in time. So the call has gone out for help from native Aguma users and multiversal elites. The good news is the town does have warp gate.

Tomoe is already there, in Salamander form and seems to be waiting for the others as they arrive.

"So we have a mess of Orcs and Oni coming down for the hills going to hit the apartment complex on the edge of the forest. The good news is they don't have flyers, so far as we are aware."

"The bad news is some of them are sneaky and we may face hits from them elsewhere in the town. As for the police, they are split into two groups, one is handling the warp gate the others is working on using the Ferry to relocate people once it's loaded up. We have a little time to get into position and set up before the Orcs and Oni hit. Something's riled them up and it concerns me. Then again it could just be the latest part of whatever the CARDINAL system is up to now. Any questions?"
Silica     Silica steps through the local warpgate, astride her Dracotiger, Tetsu. The dark, gunmetal beast loping sinuously as he trots along to join Tomoe and the others.

The tamer nods to Tomoe's briefing. "I can move quickly to react to a changing battlefield... I'll even use Chitan if I have to, but she's a bit tempermental since I haven't had a chance to sync with her yet." she says, patting Tetsu on the neck as she dismounts. "If they don't have fliers, we'll have an advantage if we use our ability to fly to hit their back lines of mages and archers."

Silica then looks around the town, "Could this Dragon be behind this? They do tend to turf out lesser monsters when they pick a place to roost."
Staren     Staren's mecha looks down at Tomoe as she gives the briefing. Unless she's flying. "We COULD do that. But I was thinking, if we know where they're massing, how about we hit them now, BEFORE they attack?" The giant robot turns towards the volcano and starts walking, Staren watching for any sign of orcs. And out of the warpgate a growing small army of humanoid constructs marches after him, varying from short human-size to 12 feet tall or so: robots, golems, and technology strapped onto and interfaced with magic. For the most part, they're equipped with a mix of high-tech caseless SMGs, missile launchers, and kanobos for extra irony against oni.

And all of them, even the magic constructs, have cameras and radios and are connected with the tacnet. If a construct can see an enemy, it's on the automap. Allies are also free to call in missile strikes.

"This isn't a game. We don't have to fight an army all alone. We can /bring/ an army."
Alexis While tracking monsters was a thing she was good at, Alexis had opted to leave the search for Sunfall to the locals and the Dark Elves. It was a good bonding excersize for the two 'nations' that would be living and hopefully working together in close proximity and they didn't need an outsider muddling it. She had just kept an ear on things so she'd be one of the first to know when the dragonic dastard was found.

So it was no surprise that she quickly picked up on this growing situation as well, and quickly made her way back to this version of Japan. With once again the rectangular Charjabug sitting atop her head. "My guess would be that they're still suffering from the dragon attacks on them and are looking to pillage to make up for it." Seems she's on a similar track of mind as Silica.

Idly she holds up her right arm and slides back the sleeve of her jacket and taps the smartwatch componet of her C-Gear to activate it. Then pops out the secondary XTransceiver display panel and bring up a local GPS minimap. "Well at least we've got home turf advantage in the way."

After looking at the map for a moment she looks up towards the building rooftops. "I could get some high ground and drop status effects on them as they approach the city." The eyes behind the 'screens' of Polarity's face peer down at her and he clicks his mandibles. "Charja?" "Yeah, String Shot and Electroweb would be good for that."
Rebecca Chambers Rebecca stands attentively, listening to Tomoe's briefing almost like she were listening to one of her commanding officers giving her official orders. The thing about orcs and whatnot coming makes her a little uneasy, since she's still wet behind the ears when it comes to dealing with things like this. Honestly, she'd rather be dealing with a new B.O.W. or something like that instead of something else like this. Nevertheless, Rebecca puts her uneasiness aside and listens intently to what Tomoe has to say.

When Tomoe is finished with the briefing, Rebecca shakes her head. "No questions at this time," She says. "I'm ready to move out!" She gives a brief salute to Tomoe, albeit out of habit rather than actual respect. "I would've contacted other members of S.T.A.R.S. to see if I could get their help, but..." She bites her lip. "I don't think they'd believe me when I told them what we were up against." She looks up, determined look back on her face. "But we'll be fine!"
Lilian Rook     "Orcs and Oni? Isn't that a really jarring mishmash of western and eastern ideas? Who designed this ridiculous video game?"

That's Lilian's apparently most immediate concern. She pronounces the words 'video game' a little bit off as well, as if reflexively wanting to inject a little disdain, but withholding it because it's too obvious to point out that she came here anyways. "I mean, I heard that this whole place somehow turned into a game system, but what kind of game even was this originally? Should we be setting up a maze of towers? Or perhaps consulting a top down tactical map? Or maybe there's some kind of point vendor to get weapons midway through."

"And so much for the vaunted JSDF the Japanese never shut up about. So eager to prove their army still exists, but now it's just scattered all over the place. That's a bit of a shame though. I really wanted to try radioing in an airstrike."

Lilian doesn't seem to be taking things as seriously as they might warrant --probably due to the whole novelty of video game trappings-- but she is at least dressed for the part, with the shiny new suit after attaining the vaunted 'not a washout' status of second years. "If there's nothing with flight capability, this should be easy enough." she says, examining the back of her hand as if she could see her nails. She's already floating in vaguely unnatural fashion to demonstrate the sentence, but also because Staren is in a giant mecha and she passively won't let him sitting higher up than her stand.

"I actually agree with the cat though. Why wait for them to get themselves together and come streaming into town? No doubt they'll just trigger the assault as soon as we get there, but it lets us have the first strike. The police are staying out of it and doing what the police should. Let's just kill them all already.

She stops to reach into one of her hardcases, and draws out . . . a book? A pretty old one with some odd symbols. The pages flip open mostly of their own accord, while she seems to consult it without actually reading it, before then snapping it shut without a word.

"Oh? It seems you actually came prepared this time. Well done." she says to Staren after that, when he actually whips out a personal army. "If only you gave it your best like that the rest of the time. It'd be at least a little respectable."

Given a direction to go in, Lilian flies off, not drifting *too* far ahead of the group, to get an aerial look.
Sarracenia      The Sundew Kingdom is currently in the middle of talks to form a diplomatic relationship with the dark elves and to buy the section of this area where the dark elves had unintentionally invaded, and so as soon as the call went out the Sundew Kingdom had responded.

As Staren's army masses and Silica deploys her pets, the warp gate shimmers before two wooden airships some 100 feet long come through. They slowly come in for a landing, although they don't really land since...you know...no landing gear or struts. But, they do open up huge ramps in the back and sides of the ships, and as soon as those touch the ground another army joins the fray. A contingent of the piranha plant soldiers that make up the mainstay of the Sundew Army. Clad in conquistador-style helms and chest plates and armed with long spears, the plant creatures quickly form up on either side of Staren's constructs and come to attention. Then the ships retract their ramps and rise as they rotate to bring their broadsides to face the mountain. And in a display clearly meant to try and intimidate the orcs and oni, they run their dozens of cannons out, and the larger and more grandios of the two vessels deploys a cannon underneath that is so large a person could easily stand up inside it. And one of its huge Bonzai Bill shells slides into place, the grinning shark face aimed right at the mountain.

Sarracenia, who had been standing on the bow of the larger ship, leaps off and rides her hammer down, causing a small shockwave on impact. She twirls around the upturned haft then pulls her hammer from the ground and moves to join the others. She feels very cool at the moment judging by the confident smirk on her face. How long that feeling will last is anyone's guess.

She listens to the briefing, then hmms. "What are we waiting for? This is clearly a hostile army, their intent is also clear. We can strike at them from both a distance and above with minimal risk to ourselves. Are these creatures like the dark elves? Computer people that are so close as to be possibly identified as real people? If not, we really shouldn't wait for -them- to attack."

She might be hugging Alexis around the shoulders the entire time as well as being entirely too upbeat for someone who might soon be engaging in a full army battle. "Hello Alexis! It has been far too long. What kind of friend does not contact her most amazing friend at regular intervals?" she asks Alexis, then blinks before coughing lightly. "...e-especially when that friend is a princess?"
Tomoe Tomoe makes note of Silicia's plan and then her comment get a thoughtful look from Tomoe.

"That could be it, it was found to have attacked and wiped out an Orc camp, by the Dark Elves recently. That's something to look into, keep an ear out if the monsters start talking, it could be a hint to that."

Staren is fairly quick to arrive. She looks up at Staren's mecha,

"Not long and I was thinking that, hit them in the backline and make a mess of it."

The added support from Staren's Golems will be a big boon to dealing with the hordes. At the worst, they would be a big help to the very overtaxed local police detachment.

"That sounds like a plan Alexis I'd get moving while you can before they hit."

Tomoe takes note of Rebecca "You do what you can and just keep in mind the monsters are digital constructs and don't quite operate with any sort of normal biology."

She glances over to Lilian for a moment "Originally the two games most affecting Japan were VR MMORPGs. Sword Art Online, which focused on sword and weapon use with little to no magic save items and Alfhiem online somewhat Norse and Celtic myth thrown into a JRPG blender. That one's creator is doing time for other reasons. Right, let's get on the intercept."

Sarracenia's actions are welcome with the air support which Tomoe didn't expect but very much welcome she'll give the local police and the like a heads up about the extra support here. With the group already on the move at this point, it will not take long to reach the hills and the actions of moving in the first will while the attackers could have the high ground? They don't have the air support and the hordes of Japanese and more Western-style monsters are deciding from the hills the Oni are upfront with a mix of orc warriors. In the back Orc archers and the odd magic-user are acting as artillery and some of the really big Oni are carrying freaking ballistas like one might a freaking minigun.

The monsters charge the oncoming Elites and golems crying out various war cries and that wich ranged attacks? Had the sense to be already opening fire.

Tomoe's got her tank buffs up and casts defence buffs on the elites as she charges into the thing of things trying to tie them down.
Silica     Silica nods a bit, watching the constructs pass, and frowning thoughtfully. "I'll bring out Chitan and provide air support... just mark a point and I'll get her to use her Vortex Breath." she remarks, poatting Tetsu and putting him away, while summoning a large Wyvern that squawks and fusses a bit, until Silica calms it with gently pets to the snout.

Silica mounts up as the Orcs and Oni come charging down. She shakes her head, then lifts into the air, using her mounts speed to avoid some balista bolts fired her way, and rolling through a storm of incoming spellworks from the casters. She takes a few hits, splashing against the hide of her mount and herself, chipping away at her HP bar and making her body ache at the bleedthrough.

The tamer then sets up an attack run, coming in at an angle and unleashing a breath weapon attack as she passes over the lines, gouging out a swath of ground, and hopefully putting some of the monsters down.
Alexis There was once a time where Alexis would of balked at even a minor display of friendly affection.

But those times are long since past. She accepts the shoulder hug for what it is as Sarracenia proclaims she's the best friend the tomboy has (and isn't exactly wrong, either). "I warned you about my wanderlust tendacies, Princess," she replies with a wink. "There's still that dragon to find, too. But that's a problem for later."

Eventually she shrugs herself free of the embrace though. "They've got the right of it, though. We should hit while we still have an advantage to pu--"

Cue the war cries in the closing distance.

"-- Okay, scratch the high ground notion," she murmurs as she turns in the direction of the ruckus. "Rest of the plan, still solid." She grabs a second pokeball and tosses it in front of herself. "I choose you, Stormwatch!" The energy flash from the sphere consolidates quickly into a bipedal form with the head like a sheep but elongated neck and tail, the orbs on the end of said tail and center of it's forehead already crackling with electrical sparks. "Aa-a-apharos!" It may no longer have wool like a sheep but it still sounds like one.
Polarity jumps down from Alexis' head and scuttles up alongside the larger pokemon, little sparks crackling from the nubs on his cheeks which then arc to the other Electric type.

"His Battery ability will give you a charge boost, Stormwatch." Alexis strikes the typical Trainer Dramatic Point pose, leveling a finger towards the incoming horde. "So use DISCHARGE! Polarity, slow them down with String Shot!"

"Chaaaa!" The box-bug opens his mandibles and spews out a cone of super sticky catapillar silk that clings to everything it touchs and tends to bind around limbs to restrict their movement. Sure to be an unpleasant hinderance to anything that rushes into it without realizing what it really is, which is exactly what Alexis is counting on.

It's followed by several arcs of electricity leaping off the Ampharos, boosted by the energy given off by Charjabug's Ability, seeking out foes and chain-lightning between them as possible. Especially if any of them are weilding metal weapons or armor.
Rebecca Chambers "I'm aware of that," Rebecca replies in response to the bit about the creatures being digital versus biological. "I intend to do the best I can." She frowns as she looks down at her feet. "Although, I wonder if my best..." Rebecca shakes her head and looks up. "Of course my best will be enough!" She grabs her hand gun and loads a clip into it. "Real or digital, I know I can make a difference here!"

A pause, then she looks to Tomoe. "Sorry, just a little self-motivation here," She says with a slight smirk. If she could, she would most likely be sweatdropping too.

Then the monsters make their appearance, and as Tomoe proceeds to buff Rebecca and the others, the medic gives a nod to Tomoe. "This is what it all comes down to! Here we go!" Rebecca attempts to find a position to take cover behind so she can plan her course of attack. The first phase would be popping out and opening fire on the creatures to see how well her weapons will fare.
Sarracenia      Apparently they shouldn't even have waited this long! The monster army is already coming down the mountain! Sarracenia blinks as hits from orc and oni artillery start to land nearby, then she lets go of Alexis finally and charges out of the meeting area. "It seems the answer to that question will have to wait!" she says before holding up her hammer by the very tip of the handle. She slowly lowers it, and...

The air is suddenly filled with projectiles! There is a thunderous series of booms as all the cannons on the ships open fire. And rather than the usual Bullet Bills they are firing actual explosive cannonballs! Much better for army combat.

At the same time, piranha plant officers (noticable by their golden armor) growl barely understandable orders to their troops before the squares of a thousand or so plants each fan out into lines. With a growl of 'FIRE!' the plants do just that. What must be thousands of fireballs come flying from the two phalanx of plants and bounce their way along the terrain toward the orc and oni, unleashing explosive fiery destruction on anything they hit, be it rock, tree, orc, or oni.

The others might also notice a large treasure chest that Sarra brought along with her and left near the meeting area. A look inside reveals it is filled with all manner of her world's power-up items, as well as Bob-ombs and various other explosive devices. Just in case they would like to try some out.
Staren     Staren deploys his beam shield, trying to catch nearby ballista bolts on it -- others lodge in his armor. He sweeps his railgun across the charging front line to start mowing enemies down, while calling in a missile strike on the enemy archers, hoping to make them scatter and stop firing.
Lilian Rook     "Ahh . . . there's no way I'm carrying enough ammunition to even make a dent in that. That's annoying. I was hoping to save myself the trouble." Lilian sighs to herself from her high vantage, shaking her head at the musou-like numbers of the enemy. "And the encounter triggered before we could land a first strike. That's video games for you I suppose. It doesn't have to make sense, just get people into mashing buttons as quickly as possible. That's a disappointment."

A way smaller, higher, and ostensibly lower priority and less threatening target than airships and flying monsters, Lilian takes her time visually sorting out the ranks and positioning of the enemy. Her hair blows in a wind counter to the direction that exists up high, rotating around her as insubstantial tongues of black smoke rise up from beneath into the twisting breeze. Magic energy converges and condenses into the palm of her hand, outstretched towards the rear ranks of archers and ballisteers, drawing in streams of blackness into a sphere that inwardly bubbles with bloodred light. The wind picks up as the point of energy grows, the smoke and the gale itself sucked into it, and then at the size of a softball, it discharges into the back in an instant, and blows up into a towering pyre of red and black flame that crashes upward along the slope like a wave breaking on rocks, carving out a smouldering chunk of terrain and sending an angled, explosive tsunami of fire into the ranged attackers.
Tomoe Silica is quick into the fight she starts to rain attack down upon the hordes of monster some of the weaker ones just explode into showers of shards light when they are killed. The orcs do not go unnoticed even though she's taken some hits some of the spell casters? Those that remain try to focus on her in the aftermath of the brutal breath attack. sending out bolts of flame at her and her companion.

Alexis is now not only attacking but interfering and otherwise slowing down the attack those that don't outright die are hindered fairly notably as they don't seem to deal well with electricity. This, however, does get a portion of the war host to focus on Alexis and her companions, as several archers start trying to rain down arrows upon Alexis and her pokemon. She has tied up the melee however for herself or other to deal with.

Rebecca gets no comment from Tomoe not out of malice but because Tomoe is knee-deep in Orcs at the moment, Rebecca is able up with sudden gunfire it's clear her weapon works when it connects and she'll drop a few Oni but it will take several shots to deplete their hit points. One with a big club will rush her hiding point trying to smash it and her with its massive iron club.

Staren is causing a lot of chaos here with his heavy weapons and while he does a lot of carnage to the attackers some of the big ones start firing their siege weapons /at/ him and his robot.

Sarracenia and her forces are laying into the attacking monsters, some seem to be pushing what looks like catapults out of the tree line, having intended to use them on the town? Now they are lobbing stones at the airships. In turns, the canons are chewing up the hillside and a good deal of the attacking monsters in the process. Also setting some on fire in the aftermath yet.

Lilian's magical power is beyond what might be called a mage from this very strange version of earth could hope to have. Part of the attacker's ranks just vanishes in the force of her magic. More get wrecked very hard who were just too close to it, to begin with, and her strike into the attacking ranks. A good deal of the ranged attackers are just gone, scattered or otherwise no longer able to attack. In the ranks of the mages that survived the powerful spell as the dust has yet to settle a rather notable orc has been already mauled and is barking a spell of his own aiming it /right/ back at her. Black Eldridge lighting bolts are fired at Lilian as this orc mage does not seem to be happy at all.

As this is going on the battle continues into the tide a large Oni clad in heavy armour holding a massive club is moving towards the main battle lines and barking orders at the others.

It seems he's trying to close up ranks.

Tomoe is already trying to fight her way to him and she gets to meet the club full-on, and it's a hell of a hit. Tomoe's shield intercepts but the blow is so powerful it does some serious damage to her right through that. She's forced back and clearly, has taken quite the hit and then above the creature for a moment one would see several health bars for a moment and the name.

Oni War Leader Eater of Bones.
Staren     As the siege fire comes in, Staren hunkers down behind his shield. Even a giant war machine acquires dents from big rocks and ballista bolts, though, some just past the edges of the shield and others on the central part that emits the shield. He can't tank forever.

    He doesn't intend to.

If they're firing all at once, then while they're reloading he lets loose with a sweep of railgun fire over the artillery line. If they're scattering fire, then he calls down more missiles to MAKE them stop shooting before he can hurl a hail of hypersonic metal into the attackers again. Unless he's getting swarmed in melee by then, in which case he has to take to the air and shoot down at them, trying to stop them from climbing over him.

He's not focusing on the big oni leader yet. He suspects several of those gathered will handle him, anyway.
Sarracenia      Big airships are not very good at avoiding fire, and so when those big catapults hurl those huge rocks at the airships there is a bellowed gravelly 'BRACE FOR IMPACT!' before the grating sound of wood shattering and splintering can be heard overhead. Both airships take heavy damage, one boulder even punching right through the slightly smaller of the two. If you were at the correct angle, you could see the city through that hole. Smoke erupts from that airship as an explosion is heard from inside, and its mast rotors stop spinning before it crashes to the ground.

That isn't -too- bad, all things considered. Now it is a small wooden fortress still bristling with guns. Both airships keep firing, though allies in the fray means they have to switch to the Bullet Bills to make sure they don't hit any friendlies. Though they are much slower, the small army of shark-faced bullets the size of people are able to track their targets. And do so with cold efficiency, going right back along the firing lines to those ballista! When they hit, the Bullet Bills explode the hundred pound bombs they are!

When that big Oni War Leader emerges, Sarracenia's eyes widen. "That...cooouuuld be the leader." she says, then rushes forward to join the melee. Tomoe might need her help! She blinks in surprise at the health bars and the name. "Oh. So...he is definitely the leader." she comments to no one in particular as she runs. As she closes in she goes into a flying leap and brings her DK hammer down, aiming at the big War Leader's head!
Alexis Charging enemies are tangled up in webbing, left in paralytic spasms, or outright strike down thanks to the boost Ampharos' already impressive Special Attack+Same Type Attack combo got from Charjabug's Battery Ability. And for every Orc and Oni that goes down Polarity starts to glow brighter... Though being an Electric type no one really notices at the moment in middle of the escalating battle.

Especially with the arrow barrage. Stormwatch's head orb glows brightly as he spreads out his forelimbs, condensing energy into Light Screen barrier to mitigate the bombardment. It's not a complete defense though, and for as many arrows deflect off the shield some manage to puncture through.
*TWNK* Including one that manages to snag a corner of Alexis' overcoat and pin it to the road. "Arceus dammit!" she curses as she grabs her coat and tries to pull it free, but the durable material it's made of refuses to tear free. Just as another volley of arrows is being rained down on them, Stormwatch's protective barrier already starting to buckle.

"CHARJA!" Thanks to knowing Acrobatics the box-bug is able to flip himself backwards into the air, getting riddled with several of the arrows as he intercepts them from hitting Alexis, and drops back to the ground with them still stuck in his body.

"Polarity!" Alexis finally manages to yank free her jacket and starts towards the fallen pokemon, only to jerk away again as beams of blue light burst through the arrow holes and seams of his segments, using an arm to protect her eyes.

Arrows clatter to the pavement along with the segments of chitin as the bug molts his exterior shell. The glowing form rises from within, swelling into a more elongated ovoid shape, the back section splitting and spreading open like a scarab shell to buzz insectoid wings to life. At the opposite end eyes flash to life with their now angular shapes while mandibles elongate outward into a pair of long angular scissor-like pinchers. "Vkaaa vkaaa!"

Glowing eyes turn in the direction of the archers the arrows that nearly perferated his Trainer came from, as rather large sparks of electricity arc up and down between his mandibles. "VKAAAVOLT!" And then released in a massive blast of energy at speeds astounding even for electricity, raining thunderbolts towards the archers like a rapid fire railgun with no relent or remorse!
Silica     Silica pulls her mount hard up as the breath weapon attack finishes off. She still takes a good few hits from the casters. Chitan shows several 'damage decals' and the HP bar dips dangerously down past yellow into orange. Silica cracks a crystal against the Wyvern's neck, bolstering health for another run. Thankfully Lilian clears a good portion of the nearby casters to the big boss.

"Alright... lets do this. Chitan, use Wing Blades!" she commands, then begins chanting in the false-norse. "Ek skýt tuttugu smár striða!" Adding a volley of unguided Wind Needles to the Wyvern's beat of wings that sends boomerang-shaped blades cutting down around the melee fighters near the boss, aiming around her allies that are in close range.
Rebecca Chambers Monsters showing how much damage they've taken as they're hit? That only existed in video games up until now. But Rebecca's not about to think about that right now. Because while her Beretta does some good, there are more enemies to deal with. One of which has a huge club that's aimed for where Rebecca is.

Fortunately, the medic takes that like she's seeing a Tyrant about to claw her, and she rolls out of the way quickly. She dashes away, stopping briefly to find cover while she switches to her Magnum instead. The hand cannon has only eight rounds per clip and she only has a few clips.

The trade-off is that it has more power. She tries to find more cover, but it's not quite that easy. She finds herself darting around and firing an occasional round in hopes of having a bit more efficiency...
Lilian Rook     The obvious boss monster shows up. "Well, that certainly looks like the thing that everyone's meant to form up on and beat to death to finish the encounter." Lilian says, mostly to herself. She looks at the boss title appear, considers the number of health bars-

    And then promptly ignores him.

Instead she focuses on the already mostly demolished caster line. The black lightning coming at her as a counterattack-

                -----[stop]-----
"There you are." Lilian once again speaks to herself, though this time in a lower, more conspiratorial tone than before, even though now there's no chance she'll be heard at all. "I'm getting good at this. None of you are in the text, but as an anchor reference against potential timelines, it certainly seems to work so far. Maybe a little more study."

Lilian drifts out of the way of the frozen lightning, and then after some more thought, decides to sweep wide and low from it, in case the lightning is more of a beam than a bolt and the particular orc warlock can walk it into her after an initial miss. She dives as fast as she can to safe time, smashes some of the blackened ground to pieces, kicking up a ripple of scattering dust and smouldering embers that hangs in midair. She draws her sword. The image of plain steel melts away to reveal black iron, translucent edges, and winding scarlet patterns.

                -----[start]-----

-hits empty air where she very much just was, like she'd massively lagged out somehow and rubberbanded to where she really was all this time. That appears to be in front of the one caster, lunging from an eruption of ash and cinders before it's even done rising. A triangular set of three point slashes rips through it where she angles past him, overlapping streamers of red light in the streaking blade's wake. She stops right behind him, and in the blink of an eye, picks up the machine pistol at her waist hardpoint, flicks the selector, and empties thirty rounds into his back with a brief, barking blaze of fire, piling on attacks to burn through his HP.
Tomoe Staren is busy now tying up the siege troops or at least a good number of them. They were not made to tank the heavy weapons when they reload? Staren strikes and there are less of them left to make more counter-attacks, some will try to run for him to pull him down, but then he'll jet up into the air raining more death upon them. At her current rate of carnage? He should be able to keep this under control.

Sarracenia's airships are pretty much doing quite the effect on the forces thinning out a good number more of the monsters. Still after this? Some landscaping company's going to make a mint for a while working on the hills after this. As for the princes herself, she rushes the boss and moves to slam into its head it brings up an arm to block, even then? Sarra's mighty blow will cause damage, dropping the health bar on its head a noticeable amount. As a bonus it gives Tomoe a chance to breathe, so she can recover and keep pressing the attack.

Alexis and her companions are battling hard dealing with arrows and more of the attacking horde the attacking archers end up like someone who'd got both Thor and Zeus angry at them and soon the archer line is just about done for they had no idea the wrath they would provoke with their actions from Alexis pokemon.

Silica meanwhile is thinning things out about Tomoe, Sarra and the boss. Which will save them and anyone else piling on to the big Oni from getting hit from behind and Silica gets a breather nothing's targeting her for the moment she can plan or even take a chance to recover a bit if she chooses.

Rebecca has a hand cannon, it has power and she has skill. As a long-serving elite Rebecca knows how well to put her weapons o use and so long as she doesn't sit still this Oni does not have a chance against her, finally she'll drop the Oni and will have a chance to go after Oni Warleader.

Lilian had used her powers well for her aims the Orc has no way to deal with something like her. Time-related powers? Are just as alien to this world as they were before the change. Now it's not changed much Lilian is able to get out of harms way without trouble at all she'll end up ready and in the right spot to just rip the Orc whose nameplate she can see now which is Grim Fang? To shred her blade just cus through it ripping through almost all if it's HP and the machine pistol does the rest to finish this thing off. Grim Fang drops to his knees looks at her in confusion and then explodes into a shower of light shards.

Leaving in it wakes a sizable pile of cash, various other items but an arcane looking sword just as Lilian could get brief pop up window that she got the last hit item the Legendary rare weapon the Arcane Fang, a blade blad with glowing purple runes across its hilt and blade, which is quite suited to magic users of most stripes.

As for the boss? Given much of its army is gone at this point, is bellowing in range and just trying to hammer Tomoe into submission who is using every trick she has to keep damage mitigation abilities up as his assault conine before it lets out a roar which causes a powerful shockwave to arc out around it in some kind of 360 degrees template attack!
Alexis While initially startled Alexis quickly falls back into her usual habits, pulling her Pokedex from a pocket and flicking it open to scan the beetle while he's bombarding the enemy position.

>> Vikavolt. The Stag Beetle Pokemon. This Bug and Electric pokemon produces electrical energy in a special organ in its abdomen, and concentrates it through it's strong pinchers to fire. It overwhelms foes with powerful electrical beams and erratic maneuvering. Charjabug will only evolve into Vikavolt when exposed to certain wavelenghts of energy, such as the magnetic fields of Poni Canyon. <<

Alexis squints at that last line a moment, and then a realization dawns on her and she snaps her fingers. "That must be it! The way this world is merged real and virtual worlds must be generating the sort of unusual wavelength Charjabug reacts to."

The device beeps softly as Alexis thumb-scrolls down to the statistical readout to see what other new tricks the evolution may of granted, already formulating a shift to her tactics. "Regroup guys, we need to deal with that boss." A shockwave is sent blasting through the area from the boss's thrashing, kicking up dust and debris. Which Stormwatch steps in, using his Magnetic Flux to form another protective barrier around him and Alexis, still cringing a bit as the force of the shockwave buffers against it but holds out.

Alexis looks up, realizing that thanks to his erratic buzzing about in the air with Levitate the newly evolved Vikavolt isn't hampered much by the shockwave.

Alexis is all too happy to let him keep the spotlight for now. "Polarity, go for the big boss! Pin him down for the others if you can!"

Zig and zag and zoom, the buzzing beetle weaves down into the battlezone with the erratic evasiveness the pokedex entry proclaimed, until the veering about brings him bombarding towards the big bad Encounter Boss Orc. After the last display it might be a little surprising he doesn't shoot the monster directly.

Because he comes behind the Orc and shoots some electrically charged silk strands from his mouth to snare the monster's arm, and heaves back to pull it away from beating Tomoe into a pulp on the pavement.

By trying to yank the club right back into the Orc's own face!
Lilian Rook     Despite picking on the miniboss instead of the big bad raid target, Lilian looks awfully satisfied with herself. Not so much the fact that it was much less dangerous (though, it was, so that works out) as she seems to be with the loot. Even then, it's not so much a gamer sense satisfaction at strong loot, but the sort of satisfaction that comes from someone rolling the gacha and getting exactly what they were thinking of on the first try. She pats the case holding the book at her hip, before bouncing the Arcane Fang up and down in her hand.

"The new theory really works. Damn I'm good~"

Considering the boss is still pounding on Tomoe and the rest of the party is still swamped though, Lilian closes the window and pulls a little more weight, standing in the small wasteland of scorched ash at the back, where she's cleared the casters and rear artillery while all the melee and line troops are focused on the front, and draws up fresh waves of magic from her reserves, coruscating again in waves of ominous red and black, this time in both hands separately.

A quick series of arcane gestures causes a circle of sacred geometry to blaze to life around one hand, and the release of energy through it splits into three sequential volleys of cascading firebolts, ripping into the enemy rear flank with multiple waves of 'arrowheads' of cutting and corroding unseelie flame meant to scythe down lines of weak grunts.

Her second spell, casting two at the same time, comes out a little later due to its greater concentration of power, and a swift horizontal sweep of her hand causes razor sharp black waves of ice erupt from the ground and down the slope, walling herself off from the main troops while creating a huge formation of lethal, corrosive, freezing cold lances. It leaves the boss and his troops nowhere to go if driven backwards, and creates a massive dark/ice/impalement hazard if the rest of the Elites force them into it.
Silica     Silica has some breathing room thankfully. She pulls back, and lands on top of one of the larger town buildings, breathing hard as she recovers stamina after that big magic attack. She pumped a lot of her MP into that spell to give the front liners some breathing space.

A potion is taken from her pouch, popped and slugged back like a fratboy trying to impress some girl. She then turns to her companion, who has laid down and looks rather miserable, for a computer generated creature. Another potion, much larger, is brough out of inventory and poured out over the wyvern's wounds, where the purpleish liquid absorbs in and begins regenerating the HP bar in a slow, but steady series of 'ticks'.
Rebecca Chambers Rebecca finds she's doing a good job, but things are only getting worse. It seems the Oni Warleader has shown up, and now it's on like Donkey Kong! (Or something like that!)

"All right, no more Miss Nice Medic!" Rebecca says as she loads another clip while drawing her tactical shield. "You've had your fun, now it's time to have mine!" This time, a slight smile is forming on her face as if she's enjoying this.
Staren     This is... going pretty well! At least on Staren's front, but he doesn't hear anyone shouting that the boss is a problem so rpesumably that's going well too. He has to focus on his piloting for a bit as he deals with the units trying to swarm him -- he calls some of his army to form a rank and charge the oni swarming him -- robots firing bullets as they charge, then the kanobo-wielding constructs stepping ahead and closing rank to smash and trample.

Afterwards, Staren lands again. He has the majority of his troops start moving forward, trying to put fear into the enemy at the very visual indicator of them losing control of the battlefield and the imposing implacability of steel and stone constructs.

He's forgotten for a moment that videogame mooks probably aren't programmed with morale, but he's trying to pilot a robot and direct an army at the same time! This is why it's good to get practice.
Sarracenia      Sarracenia grins down at the oni when its HP bar goes down after her attack. She pulls back on her hammer and somersaults backward through the air before landing nearby, then moves to flank it with Tomoe. "Keep it up, Tomoe!" she exclaims as she moves in. A prismatic aura starts to flow from Sarracenia as she releases the seal on her hammer, and her grin becomes a bit more crazed as her movements start leaving sparkles in her wake. "So I can do this!!"

Sarracenia suddenly seems possessed, like she has a demon hammer. She starts hammering away with inhuman speed and power, unleashing blow after earthshaking blow on the Oni leader. The hammer frenzy lasts for about 15 seconds, with a hammer blow raining down around Eater of Bones at least once a second.

When that aura fades Sarracenia falls to a knee, panting from the effort. Hopefully the big guy is down, or she might be in for a big counter.
Kirito     All the hullabaloo happening in the hills is spectacularly noisy. Beasts roaring, warriors screaming, weapons clashing. Down in the harbor, people are making a semi-orderly dash for a few waiting ferries - and what can't make it to those, they're going for a Warp Gate. Sensible actions to take, given the DISASTER that is an Orc Invasion going on.

But there's more to it than that. Downtown near the harbor, manholes rattle and rumble, all entirely separate from the battle going on.

In no time at all the manhole's hoisted off by beastly hands and shoved aside as one of the brown-furred, glowing red-eyed, tusked ape-like creatures that have somehow been labeled ORCs emerge, squeezing out of the sewers. They're covered in grime and smell absolutely foul, but swing their spiked clubs about and fix their gazes on the fleeing civilians with predatory intent.

With everyone busy fighting the Boss, this is quite a conundrum. Certainly worth a few moments of panic! For a good ten seconds the beasts dash down the streets unopposed, but then one steps over another manhole and--

There's an explosion of motion, the ear-splitting shrill SHRIEK of metal cleaving through metal, the first of the Orcs bursting instantly into a spray of colorful dissipating voxels, and a flash of black and gold erupting from the hole and zipping into the sky, then back down into the streets at breakneck speeds.

The resulting dust cloud's parted and banished with a Wind-Element Sword Skill, a single slash that sends it all gusting away.

Kirito stands there in the street, facing down the forces that must have been up to something VERY clever this whole time. He's dressed in his combat best, although it's quite clear that he's been fighting the ENTIRE way. He's panting for breath, slightly slouched forward, and leaning on the golden blade that's lightly impaled into the pavement. His right hand grasps Vox Unitas and his left holds onto Holy Sword Excaliber, both covered in grime and slime and one can only imagine how much blood he'd be caked in if these things actually did bleed...

Down here, he has a good moment to see what's happening over on yonder hill... and that causes him to redouble on a fierce glare at the Orcs. "End of the line, Orcs!" Kirito declares as he grits his teeth and hoists himself to his full stature - shortish as that might be - and brandishes his weapons again. Without even waiting for a reply - his foes are already beginning to charge in aggressive fury - he steps forward into the muddle, slashing this way and that, ducking and striking and fighting in brutal fashion. Not only slashing with his blades, he's quick to place enemies in each other's way, and strike with his knees, elbows, and pommel-whonks when opportunities present themselves. It's a major improvement over his usual emphasis on swordplay....

But when he does have an opportunity, Kirito lashes out with dual wielding Sword Skills like Double Circular, filling the air with colorful voxel-spray deaths as a half-dozen ORcs are slain at once from such efforts!

The only real question is... how long has he been fighting these things solo down there?
Tomoe Alexis companion has evolved into its next form perhaps it is due to the strange digital nature of this earth is the cause? Whatever the case the newly formed Vikavolt is just laying into the ranks and with that done Trainer and Pokemon is now on the boss monster. With the charged silk strands now holding back Oni Warleader back for a moment, two? Alexis pokemon has managed to make it smack itself in its face doing some notable damage also angering the monster even more.

Lilian has still removed a mini-boss from the field and the caster to boot are no longer an issue. Her next action works well these monster were not smart enough to do too much in a complex way they were set up for numbers rather than smarts. The effects of both of Lilian's spells are quite effective the first just reduces the number of enemies to shades and whatever drops they might give off thinning out a lot of the grunts if not a wide number of those within range. The second one, however, proves to be quite the nasty target for the rest of the group to drive them into. Also, it should cut off many of them from being able to escape from here to cause trouble later.

Silica gets her breather and falls back without anything working to go after her. She's got some times to help her faithful companion heal up and the monster is too busy to worry about chasing a foe who has run away.

Rebecca's shots prove to do damage and also add another thing for the boss to deal with.

Staren's forces meanwhile press on the golem troops are proving to be far better commanded as they slam into much of what is left of the main force of the mook not there is much left. The monsters seem to be fighting to the death and Staren's troops are much the same he's even able to start forcing them back into the hazard zone that Lilian had created and a large number don't last very long there at all.

Sarracenia words do spur Tomoe on and she keeps the monster's attention. Also, Alexis' help has given her time to get off a sword art on the boss which will help a good deal also keep the Oni Warleader busy as Sarracenia undoes the seal and just started smashing into the Eater of Bones. The chain combo of hammer blows savage it, again and again, ripping through it's hit points leaving down on its last bar of life which is already has a large portion of it depleted and the best does not seem to be stopping as it is now taking its massive club and wind up for a massive AoE attack, Tomoe will not be able to shield everyone from it. She pops what cooldowns she has to help herself and anyone near her. The boss is on its last legs and shows no care for its own survival only the directive to fight until it can not any longer.

Kirito meanwhile has been in solo mode, once more. Cleaning out the sewers under the town of another wave of orcs and Oni that could have boiled up into the town, thankfully with his actions, the party won't be hit from behind, now they have to deal with the Oni Warlader Eater of Bones before it can pound Tomoe into and fairy shaped smear.
Rebecca Chambers Rebecca finds that her attempts to deal with the boss are working a bit better than she planned. She steps behind her shield to reload and then pops back out again. "You don't scare me, buddy!" She says with a smile. "I hope you enjoy being sent to the Game Over realm, because that's where we're sending you!"

Despite what she's saying, behind the scenes, Rebecca is silently wondering to herself what's gotten into her. This is not like her. Usually she's more obsessed with being scientifically minded and dealing with the situation at hand.

Hey, all work and no play makes Rebecca a dull girl!
Sarracenia      Sarracenia isn't really in a position to see Kirito or what is happening in town, but she gets the idea of what is happening soon enough. "Kirito!" she exclaims. Even if he's married, he's a real hero and she's always excited to see him. But she'd rather see him in action! But, there is still this boss to deal with.

That AoE swing catches the tired Sarracenia, and she goes flying before bouncing along the ground a few times. Luckily, she is wearing her battle dress so it isn't too bad off when she stands up again. "Okay...time to finish this guy off!" She pulls out her cell phone and a quick dial puts her in contact with the captain of the Sundew Sovereign, the airship that is still flying near the city. "Captain! Load it and fire on my target when ready!"

The huge cannon dangling from the underside of the airship takes aim, and with a thunderous KABOOM launches a shell that must be the size of a truck! With its shark face grin it moves toward the big boss.

"Heeheehee...everyone better move back!" Sarracenia shouts to her teammates nearby. "Bonzai Bill is coming!"

That huge shell might be slow, but it also tracks its target. And when it reaches Eater of Bones it unleashes an explosion unlike most any other. First, an initial blast that sends shrapnel flying from the shell, then a crescendoing series of explosions that steadily grow in power until a final blast that leaves a mushroom cloud behind!
Staren     This is going well! Staren is basically playing RTS mop-up at this point.

Across the battlefield, he sees The Boss rear its ugly head and telegraph an obvious attack on Tomoe.

    "No." He states, firmly.

The giant robot's arm whips into position and unleashes another hail of railgun fire.

In unison, every robot remaining on the field turns on the boss and fires their underbarrel launchers, so far unused in this battle: Gyrojets with explosive tips meant to blow a path through armor. Streaking towards the boss from dozens of angles!
Silica     Silica pats her companion, then watches as Kirito intercepts some sneaky looking, smelly ORCs from the sewers... she knows this is going to be a terrible idea, but she leaps over the side of the building she's on, deploying her wings mid-fall and aiming to high-speed stab one of the piglike monsters in the back, unleashing a kiai as she does so.

Once impact is achieved, she kicks off, does a neat little backflip, then whistles sharply. Tetsu emerges from her inventory and bellows a roar of challenge at the smelly monsters, scraping furrows in the roar with his iron-like claws.
Alexis The Good News is the trick worked and Vikavolt is able to both deal some damage to the Boss Orc and give Tomoe and Sarracenia a chance to get back on their feet. Helping Your Friends!.. Well Friends of Your Trainer, but still counts.

The Bad News is that when the Orc get riled back up and starts thrashing around again the bug is still holding onto the weapon arm, and while not getting mashed directly gets swung around for a wild ride as the Orc spins. Until the silk threads finally snap and Vikavolt is flung away. The best he can do is close his shell over his wings and pulls his legs in for protection, and fortunately still knows Iron Defense to give himself some extra protection in the crash. Which sends him skidding down the street and finally stopping, unfortunately on his back so he can't reopen his wings and upright himself.

Fortunately Alexis is quick to hurry over and pick the beetle up. "You okay, Polarity? "Vkaaaa..." "It's fine. You've done plenty good, for newly evolved." Pause. "A little big to ride on my head now, though."

It's not a problem though, as he crawls onto her back instead, wrapping his legs around her sides like a beetle shaped backpack.... She might have to experiment later to see if he can actually carry her, that'd be like an awesome flight pack.

But first, finishing off the Boss. Alexis got back onto her feet and turned to her other pokemon. "Still with me Stormwatch?" "Amph." "Alright. Let's finishing smashing this bastard and call it a night." Alexis considers options for a moment, and then smiles an almost wicked little smirk. She digs a heel in and strikes a pose to pull back the sleeve of one arm and reveal the bracer worn underneath. "Let's give the Boss an appropriate send-off!" The small gemstone socketed in the back of the bracer starts to glow, showing the flaming helix engraved in it as sparks of energy arcing away from it to connect with similar arcs leaping off Ampharos' form and surging back along the circuit to engulf the pokemon in a coccoon of light.

Then the aura shatters and shimmers away, as Stormwatch snaps his head up and back to give a Dramatic Hair Flip of the flowing mane of electrified wool now trailing off his head, and a similar wooly mass covering his tail while multiple smaller versions of the electrical orbs glow within it. The sheep-mon has become faaaaabulous."

Then Alexis turns to thrust her arm towards the Boss Orc, hand and fingers curled in a manner to mimic a fanged jaw. "Now! Hit him with DRAGON PULSE!" "AMPHAROS!" All those orbs on his body light up, and Stormwatch releases a massive bolt of charged indigo energy that also takes the form of a stylized roaring dragon as it hurtles towards the Boss Orc!

You see, Mega Evolution does two things for Ampharos besides the wooly locks. First being that it is now an Electric/Dragon type, so that already powerful Dragon Pulse attack is getting the boost for being the same Type as the user, in additon to Mega Ampharos' naturally high power output.
The Second being that he now posesses the Mold Breaker ability, which has to potential to hammer through what defensive abilities the Boss monster may have.

Long story short version -- Mega Ampharos is firing a MASSIVE DRAGON LASER with ARMOR PIERCING capabilities at the Boss Orc! This is gonna leave a mark!
Lilian Rook     "Oh, I do remember something about there supposedly being 'stealth orcs' liable to attempt some sort of ambush. I suppose that explains where they've been all this time." says Lilian, able to sound even and pleasantly surprised with Kirito far enough away and down wind that she doesn't have to smell him. "That's theee . . ." she snaps her fingers several times. "I'm sure I'll remember his name later."

Starting to make her way into the ranks, crossing swords, ducking arrows, and doing big, casual Sauron sweeps of the mooks between her and the boss she's working towards, Lilian is suddenly made to back right back off due to the sheer number of incoming explosives, and the telegraphed giant AoE from the boss to boot. Rather than getting all the way into the middle of that Danger Close, Lilian makes a dry contemplative 'hmmm' while falling back again. She grabs the handful of grenade canisters she'd brought along, but not used, seeing as they'd barely make a dent in the horde's numbers even scoring multikills, and instead pitches them at the Eater of Bones to add to the already sure to be impressive mushroom cloud being dropped on her. The glassy lines and etchings on her suit fill in a thin white glow along her arm, and where she pitches the grenades, the air cracks on rather unaerodynamic sonic booms, striking the boss directly and exploding on impact. She dumps her reloaded magazine into it as well for good measure, to carve off some of those last bits of HP, and then floats at a leisurely distace to assess the rest of the party going in on it, occasionally defending herself from arrows.
Kirito     If Kirito knew that someone out there thought he was a 'real hero', he'd probably be incredibly embarassed. Truth is that his whole body's aching with every swing of his swords. He's been fighting for hours, and his virtual body that once fought so long and so far to get through Aincrad... well, it didn't tire. His mind did, but his avatar did not.

That logic doesn't apply anymore. Every swing of those blades, every strike he's landing, every time something gets a lucky blow on him and shaves down his health bar... it's a surge of pain and weariness.

He really, REALLY doesn't feel like a hero.

Just a guy with some skills, whose current aroma is best left undescribed, and who absolutely cannot let a single Orc or Oni take another step down this road.

Suffice to say, he's probably the closest thing this city has ever seen to a living monster blender as for every strike he suffers, another fifty blows are expertly parried and answered with devastating slashes. Deep, growling, reverberating kiais mark every strike and slashes, filling the air with the glittering remains of defeated monsters one after another.

At one point, the boy stumbles down to one knee. The flesh underneath his transformation is still his biggest weakness, and it's been pushed far beyond his normal limits today.

But Silica's shout grabs his attention. He looks up just in time to see her go sailing past overhead... and with renewed vigor, Kirito clenches his teeth and grips his blades tighter. Crossing them overhead just in time, he catches a massive iron club that's the size of his body between them. The impact cracks the pavement beneath him... but his weary body doesn't budge. Rather, he intones with harsh desperation as he rises to his feet properly again, bringing a pair of swiftly-glowing blades out to bear... "Starburst... STREAM."

Purple and bluish-white energies howl around him and his blades in a lightshow far exceeding that of normal Sword Skills. And just like that, with a howling roar he rockets into action, blades arcing forward and down in a series of diagonal slashes as he keeps stepping forward and drawing huge arcs of glowing light through the air. Each of the sixteen slashes is one more surprised enemy down, and the final thrusts burst with a shockwave of scattering motes of light and enough force to clear the space around him!

"Thanks, Silica! ... Soloing this is a bit much."
Tomoe Sadly unlike some of the beings spawned by this now semi-digital world? The Warleader Oni Eater of Bones? Does not quite understand what Rebecca says, her bullet on the other hand help to keep bringing down the bosses remaining hit points as the rounds leave now red wireframe distortion when they hit clearly showing just how bad off the boss is.

Staren meanwhile has been sweeping up what's left of the remaining lesser monster and then as Tomoe's about to be turned into a pizza he orders his golems in range to open up with their explosive rounds. The shots ripple across the thing's body stagging it. This sets it up for Alexis pokemon to let lose with Dragon Pulse the attack which is a dragon laser the blast will now core though the boss' belly and out the other side, it has no internal organ but the hp bar is seriously dropping now into orange pushing towards the red.

Lilian's got quite a number of cluster grenades there to add to the explosive symphony that is going on there. Her own magic and weapons fire adding into more of the, so many explosion and of her shots take off part of the boss's head dropping it right into the red. It bellows in confusion and rage. The cast bar on its title bar flickers out.

Tomoe meanwhile is going to drop her tank stance and get the hell back for she sees even more firepower is coming this way, and she does not want to be near her, her wings flare out and she flys up and back trying to get to safety.

It's a good thing she did as well given what her friend Sarra is doing here with a Bonzai Bill? The boss is done for here as it vanishes under all the explosions and firepower that have been thrown at it lets out a brutal cry as it explodes into a shower of light shards and the words which will forever make anyone who lived through SAO alive twitch? CONGRATULATIONS! Hovers there as people will get cash, loot drops and Sarra gets the last hit item, the Bone Eaters Club, the bosses spiked metal war club but scaled down to where someone could use it.

Things are not quite over as the Boss goes down, Kirito and Silicia have one last part as the Cait Sith comes to the Spriggan's aid. It's enough time to give him a chance to let off his signature ability. With Silicia keeping the monster's attention long enough for Kirito to wipe out the last of them in a flurry of blows and with that? The remaining monsters turn to flee, most of them falling prey to the hazards Lilian set up or the fire of Staren's troops.
Alexis They've already expended a lot of energy so it's not that surprising that Stormwatch can't hold the Mega Ampharos form any longer than launching that one last attack. He flops back on his rump afterwards, already shifting back to his usual unfortunatelly less fabulous form. Which is followed by being recalled into his pokeball before he collapses entirely from exhaustion.

"I think we're gonna have to leave clean-up to the locals this time." "Vkka." "Yeah, we'll do some training later to learn the in and out of your new form... Maybe a new name, too. You're basically a flying cannon now after all." "Vkka."

Alexis rubs her shoulder a bit as she ambles over in the Princess's direction. "Hey Sarrachenia, got enough room on one of those airships for me to hitch a ride outta here?"
Sarracenia      Sarracenia is all grins as the boss monster explodes thanks to her explosions! She blinks as she receives the club, then hmms. "I may have to try this out. It may not be a hammer, but..." She slips it into her purse (somehow), then smiles to Alexis. "Of course! A friend of mine is always welcome in my magnificent...!"

Her words trail off as she gets a look at her airships. One is down and barely better than a house at this point. The flagship has holes all over, including a few large ones from catapults, and is smoking from some magic shots. "...airship..." she finishes quietly, then sighs.
