Sumiko Mitakihara Town, a town slowly recovering from a great catastrophe that had flooded parts of the city.  Probably was some cyclone, right?  Things have slowly returned to normal, as the rebuilding continues.  Though some might tell you that there was more lost than people actually know.  Regardless, it is also the known location of Mikoto.

Through whatever means you have, beating up the underworld, spies, threatening Rean, or other unsavory or savory actions finding Mikoto isn't /terribly/ difficult.  The home is a modern Japanese house, painted green, with large open windows which right now seemingly show no signs that anyone is home.

No lights, no movement.  She definitely was here, as she wasn't at school today, nor did she sneak out into the Multiverse.  The yard is well maintained, with a small rock garden.  The mail has also been picked up today, so definitely someone was here.
Majima Goro Majima's plan was, in fact, just to beat up random thugs until someone talked.
Then he got hungry, and stopped in at a convenience store, and then some guy with a knife decided to try to hold the guy up for cash. Of course, that means Majima had to drag the guy outside and knock his face against the curb a few times, and that lead to him striking up a conversation with the convenience store owner about his problems with his love life, and since Majima's just so cool and brave enough to beat up some thug, could he take the letter over to his girlfriend across town, and it's not like he was about to let the guy down, so there he was going across town, giving the letter over, and then one thing leads to another and someone /offhandedly mentions/ that Mikoto wasn't at school today..

So he's been here for hours chasing stupid lead after stupid lead. At the very least, the stuff he got from the convenience store is still intact, a plastic bag swinging from his arm. And at this point, the bruises and abrasions on his face and nasty marks all over his bare torso are keeping all but the clumsiest of thugs from going after him.

And so he walks up to the door. Yep, he's a guy in his early forties, here to talk to a teenage girl. Is this gonna get stupid complicated? Yeah, but he's not gonna turn back on a stupid plan.
Rean Schwarzer Despite popular belief, threatening Rean would not yield any information, because he was looking for her too.

He first tried asking around Mitakihara High School, trying to see if any of her classmates knew where she went. And after getting roped into helping the local Student Council help some club do club things (because apparently he was obligated to help the Student Council /even at other schools/), he got a lead.

He makes his way to Mikoto's house...and there's a scarred and bruised man on her doorstep. He's not really sure what to say about this. There /was/ a pretty safe assumption he could make about why this guy was here (ok, two, but one was a lot more dangerous) and so he had to handle this fairly delicately.

"Uh...Hi." Rean says, approaching the man. "Are you Mikoto's father?"

Smooth, Rean.
Sumiko Assuming that someone presses the doorbell or knocks on the door, there is a long moment before anything or anyone responds.  More attempts to knock or ring the doorbell cause eventual stirring.  Something is moving inside, though slowly.  Eventually, the door is unlocked, and it opens up just enough for Mikoto's head to stick out to look at Goro.

She's in a pair of pajamas as she looks up at Goro and someone else she can't quite see.  "Yes?" She manages to get out, in a very dull and tired voice.  The same kind of voice that Rean would recognize from the day before as if she was dead inside.
Majima Goro Majima Goro ...hadn't thought this part through. Honestly. But, y'know, that's never stopped him before. Why should it stop him now? Exactly. There's a wild grin, as he raises the plastic bag in one hand, pointing to it. "Ah, Mikoto-san! I'd heard you'd been down over..well, we all know the deal, and I thought I had an idea."

It's around then he realizes that Rean's staring at him. Staring at a guy in his early forties offering a plastic bag that, at minimum, contains a six-pack of beer, to a teenage girl. Yeah. This is gonna get awkward quick, unless.. "...eh, whoever you are, you can come too." There. Now it's not creepy anymore, just vaguely illegal and bizarre. Problem solved. "I'm just here to see what I can do 'bout a bad situation. I ain't her dad, what kinda dad brings his underage daughter beer? That's frickin' weird, man."
Rean Schwarzer ...Wait. He /knew/ that voice. "Majima??" Rean asks, trying to confirm the man's identity. Then Mikoto opens the door. "...Hey, Mikoto." Rean says quietly. She seemed just as tired as she was yesterday.

"...Well, at least we're here for the same thing." Rean says. The beer was a bit much, but from what he knew Mikoto didn't give a single crap about being underage or anything like that. He could roll with it if it really made her feel better.
Sumiko There is a long sigh from Mikoto, she just wants to shut the door and go lay back down.  However, she has a feeling the man isn't going to let this go without talking at her until she says the right thing.  It just made her more tired to think about.  Rubbing her face, she opens the door wider to let them in.

The first room was a shoe room, you can take them off here and there is a rack even for them.  Mikoto, still rubbing her eyes walks into the living room.  There is a nice emerald couch to which she flops on.  There are other chairs, similarly colored, with various hues of green and silver that just seem to come together just right.

A flat-screen TV is on the wall, above a fireplace.  the room behind the living room is the kitchen, which is separated by only a large counter.  The entire place is rather clean, well maintained, and while some things look unused, not at all dusty.

"You're the guy from the radio, right?  I don't know how much you know.  I'm doomed to a slow death, not even death...the worst fate I could ever imagine. That and then eventually I'll be killed by people who too will someday become just like I will.  I killed people who didn't have a choice in what they were because I thought they were mindless monsters.."
Majima Goro Majima Goro takes off his shoes. He's not, like, a complete boor. He keeps the jacket on, stretching out a little. "Yeah, I got the general gist of it." He places the bag down on the table, pulling off a single beer from the six-pack to give to Mikoto.
"Here. Heck do ya care, right? Ya might as well." He pulls out another one for Rean, and a third for himself. Then he plops onto one of the chairs with a decided flumph, legs spread out.
"Anyway. I heard the gist. So, ya life got a timer on it, is what I'm hearin'. Fair 'nough. Sounds to me like ya got a lot of crap goin on'. You're at the worst part o' high school, you're just comin' to grips with your destiny to kill a bunch of crazy ass monster makin' Multiverse Elites reach for the whiskey, and now ya just found out that the fuse is burnin' a little faster than ya thought." He leans forward, pulling out a cigarette.
"Here, ya want one of these too?" He offers, before lighting his own.

"Now, I ain't here to give you some puppy-eye crap about how there's always a way. Hell if I know jack about this magical girl crap. What I do know about is 'not expectin' to live much longer', and I know a ****ton about what it's like to suffer for a long time." He taps his eyepatch, before takin' a drag on the cigarette.

"First off, sounds like this Witch thing ain't exactly a fun experience. So anyone you're killin, you're doin a favor. Easy enough, isn't it?"

He starts to lean back.

"So what I'm here to do is talk to ya 'bout what ya gonna do in the time ya got, rather than waste it mopin' around."
Rean Schwarzer Rean also takes off his shoes before coming in, following Majima's lead. It's a nice house, though very...empty. He sits down on a nearby chair and takes the beer, but doesn't actually open it. Maybe he can hand it off to Instructor Sara when he gets back to the dorm.

He shifts uncomfortably when Majima says something about not giving Mikoto puppy-eye crap. That kind of was his plan when he got here, even if admittedly he had no idea how he was supposed to even accomplish saving Mikoto from her fate. But...

"...I won't lie, I'm completely out of my depth here. But didn't you say you wanted to live life to the fullest while you had it? Do you really want to spend the time you have left sitting in this empty house by yourself?"
Sumiko Mikoto pops the top of the beer, she does not seem bothered by the alcohol, taking a sip before resting the can on her lap.  The girl listens, but she does not show much in the way of interest or emotion.  She just looks utterly exhausted, pushed to the limit in some way, as she looks up finally towards the two.

"Death was always certain, I could put that off...I could deal with it.  Death is...not as scary.  I've dealt with it far too much in my life, if not specifically this one," She says.  After another sip, she speaks again with the same listless tone to her.

She dismisses the offer of a cigarette, "Not a fan, never could enjoy them," She admits, but she doesn't seem to care that it's technically not moral.  "I was told that death came when I ran out of magic, which is why we have to hunt the witches.  I was not told the truth behind what witches are, and what we are...it's not just dying.  It's.."

Rean's words touch on something unexpected.  The empty home...

"If I had a family, I wouldn't be in an empty home now, would I?" The first show of emotion and it sounds...bitter.  Very bitter.  "I wished for one, and a witch took it from me.  So now I have no wish but have to fight anyway.  Now I find out that I'll eventually be just like that...that I'll hurt people like I was."

"It's too much to take..."
Majima Goro Majima Goro just...takes a breath, leaning back as he listens. He has a sip of the beer. A drag of the cigarette. He doesn't respond for a long while, keeping his one-eyed gaze firmly on the girl.

"...Yeah. There's no question you got screwed, here. It ain't fair, and it ain't right." He...hm. He's gonna have to tap this cigarette at some point. He quickly guzzles back the rest of the beer, and then taps the ashes into the empty can. There. Perfect. That'll do it.

"...So. Thing I'll promise ya outright. Soon as ya become one of these Witch things, I'll kill ya myself before you can hurt anyone. Done. You aren't gonna hurt anyone. I can solve that much. If I gotta drag one of these Magical Girls with me to apply some ancient seal or whatever at the end, whatever."
One of the advantages of being a one-eyed guy with clear yakuza tattoos under the jacket is he's far more likely to sound like a badass saying that, instead of just pointlessly optimistic.

"I ain't sayin' to go live your life hard as ya can just 'cause that makes up for this situation being bullshit. It's bullshit. What I'm sayin' is it's the only way I can think of to spite the guys who screwed you over."
Rean Schwarzer "...Same here." Rean says, with some hesitation. Unlike Majima over there, the idea of having to kill someone who he was slowly starting to consider a friend even after they became a monster scared him a bit.  "If it comes to that, I'll be right there with him. I do want to find some way to truly save you from this fate, though. Majima's right, this isn't fair at all. But if we can't find a way, then that's the least this slow bean can do."
Sumiko Mikoto takes another sip, she does not look up.  Her gaze is firmly fixed on the table, she is not sure how to respond.  She's just tired...exhausted, she just wants to curl up and continue to just wait.  However, these people she barely knows say they'll be the ones to kill her if she becomes a witch.  She...doesn't know how to take this.

The can falls from her hands as she starts sobbing.  Hands cover her face as she finally leans in.  The entire last few days finally hit her at once.  Everything hits her at once, and she nearly collapses into her tears.  She can only manage to choke out a few words...

"Why...why did she have to...why did he die...why did I have to lose them...why me..."
Majima Goro Majima Goro stays quiet, for a long moment. He just leans back in the chair, slowly, letting Mikoto cry.

Breath in. Breath out. Where the fuck is someone who's good at this shit? Ain't one of those Paladin guys a therapist or some shit? No? Course not. He arches his neck, staring up at the ceiling. He rests his arms on the chair arms for a moment. And then, a moment later...

His eye narrows a little, and he looks away. "...it's bullshit, as I said. Y'lose people. People ya care about, and it's cause a bunch of shit is going on that y'don't understand, and everyone who does understand just wants to sound smug about it like they got some higher purpose and you should shut up and take it, right? All you know is you hurt, and you're angry, and you just want it all to stop." He concludes.

"...'s fucked up all I got is 'killin ya when it comes to it', but it's that, beer, and karaoke, and I figured ya weren't up for karaoke. World ain't fair." He turns to Rean for a minute, considering. "...but I gotta say, what I do wantcha to remember is...ya seem to have a lot of people who care aboutcha. You don't gotta feel better knowin' that, but it might be good to remember."
Rean Schwarzer Rean kinda just sits there and listens to Mikoto cry it out. It's clear that as much as he wants to be the therapist in this situation, he's still got a lot of growing up to do.

He nods. "Yeah...that was kind of the crux of the whole 'peer pressuring' thing. Touta and I were trying to help, even if it did come out a bit...aggressive.
So I guess, in a way we can be your family   now? If you want that, I mean."
Sumiko Finally, she...looks up, eyes red.  There is something to her voice that she had lost up till now, some emotion.  Sure it's /sad/ but it's something...it's not the horrible pit that she was stuck in.  Her hands move to wipe her eyes clean.

"I'd...like to do those things..." She says, with a controlled sob.  She's trying...she really is.  Rean...though he says something very cute, causes her to look up at him and shake her head.  "No...sorry, but you don't want to be my family."

"I am sure I am cursed in that regard.  Having a family is...apparently something I am incapable of having.  I guess...I can have friends." She says, finally cracking a smile.  Tempting fate, perhaps, but it's a start.

"Thank you...both of you.  I don't know why you...even care, but I do appreciate it."
Majima Goro Majima Goro takes a breath. "...I...well. It ain't as flashy, there ain't crazy monsters that break reality involved, but..." He adjusts his jacket, just to make the yakuza tattoos that much clearer.
"Ain't noone your age should be dealin' with the crap you're dealin' with. Anyway, if you're /that/ alone, y'need something, call me, ah? I'm just wastin' time gettin' into fights when I ain't workin on the construction site anyway. I can do somethin' actually useful."

He slowly, surely, gets up from his chair. "...I wasn't kiddin' bout the karaoke, either, alright? Ya call me. I'll make ol' Touta-chan come too, if I gotta knock him 'round a few times to do it."
He pauses.
"Eh, maybe if I don't, huh?" He cackles wildly, but... it sounds more forced than it normally does.
Rean Schwarzer Rean smiles back as he gets up from the chair. "No problem."
