Touta Konoe      Once again the sound of the crowd cheering echoes amongst the arena. After all the fights that have come to pass it only made sense more people were getting excited as the tournament continued. Touta's been particularly excited himself. But it's not just because of the tournament, but because of who was next in the brackets.

"This will be the first time fighting him face to face."

"Yeah, I mean, there've been some close calls or what not but...Mmm, this'll be the first. I know he's a tough one but I've truthfully, been looking forward to this. I was almost kinda afraid we might not end up facing each other at all."

Unlike the Zenos or Haguro who he had gone in blind against, the opponent he was about to face was someone he knew pretty well. Someone he's fought alongside and occassionally just bicker with.

Without further dialogue between a boy and his blade the announcer calls both fighters out. A young man short of stature dressed in all black appears. The taichi he holds in his hand matching the dark aesthetic he's come to be known for. As he walks into the crowd, he can hear voices cheering his name, people already becoming familiar with him from his last few bouts. Now, all he could do was smile eagerly at the opponent that stand across from him at the other side of the arena.
Seifer Almasy      Seifer Almasy gives the crowd what they want.

He enters in his full, proper Hand of the Concord gear - his single armored gauntlet, his uniform under his half-a-haori, his gunblade over his shoulder, his fox-emblem-and-dogtag necklace hanging around his neck. He's waving at the crowd, a big grin on his face. He was born for this kind of thing. Knightly glory. Even with the revelations about his past and his missing friends, Seifer Almasy is still Seifer Almasy, and that's never gonna change.

He reaches the middle. He taps his gunblade on his shoulder, a lopsided grin on his face. "Hey."

"You know, you could give up right now if you wanted. Nobody'd blame you." He's obviously teasing. He doesn't want that any more than Touta does.

Seifer takes his stance. His gunblade outstretched, he levels it at Touta like a fencing rapier. It looks ridiculous and amateur, as always.

Touta knows full well that it is not.

Seifer lunges. He's fast. Touta's known that Seifer's fast for some time, but it's probably entirely different, being on the receiving end of that flashing gunblade. Every strike is faster and more agile than the last, and each swing comes with one of those trigger-pulls that makes the gunblade shake violently. Seifer's trying to zone him out already, to force him on the back foot - not a fierce killing strike to end it in one blow but a graceful and masterful battlefield control.
Touta Konoe      "Sorry pal, you're just gonna have to accept that you're about to get smacked up by a kid in front of an audience."

The obvious banter are the first of swings the two would throw at each other. But the real fight began when Seifer had taken his stance. His Gunblade extending out, as if an extension of his arm. Already likely trying to gauge the perfect distance between the two of them. From there, sparks would fly. Seifer begins with a flurry of agile strikes along with a powerful collision thanks to unleashing his trigger at just the right time. And as a zoning tool, it seemed pretty smart. There was just one thing.

"You're not the only one who can do that!"

Touta presses into the attack allowing one of the strikes to get a pretty solid hit in, but given Touta's recovery he'll be able brush it off for the most part. It was his turn to push the offensive. He begins his own agile stream of slashes just as Seifer had done, but instead of pulling a trigger, Touta amplifies the weight of his blade at the last second each time, meaning that every swing was hard and heavy, and every transition was smooth and light.
Seifer Almasy      "I sure as heck hope not!"

Yeah, Seifer's sort of stopped swearing since he found out the truth. Sora probably lectured him about it. Or Molly.

The gunblade clashes with the weight of Touta's talking sword. It's never a direct strike, always redirecting, always turning away at the last minute. Still, Seifer can't focus on offense and defense at the same time, and Touta's right to focus on offense - Seifer does, and Seifer's offense is a lot less rough than Touta's. While he's turning aside the worst of the blows, damage is already building, little cuts and scratches. Seifer can't keep exchanging things like this.

Blades smash together. Seifer's lips split in a wide grin. He's fighting one-handed, because he always does.

     His gauntlet's free.

     SNAP.

BOOM. An explosion, directly under Touta's feet. It's not meant as an attack - it's meant to force Touta to try and dodge, to disrupt Touta's rhythm and give Seifer control. This is a fight about control, not raw power. It's about skill, not raw strength. Who wins won't be who hits hardest. It'll be who can hold their ground the best.
Touta Konoe      Touta's left dumbfounded. He never saw this coming. Nothing he's seen of Seifer could have possible prepared him for this...Did he just censor himself? In all seriousness though...Blades are already slamming into each other without relent. Strikes from both sides combining in unison power and speed as they connect. Of course another thing they both appeared to be doing was smirking. Why wouldn't Touta be after all? He's probably wanted this fight just as much as Seifer has. Perhaps even more?

From there the gauntlet makes its snap an explosion occurs from below Touta's feet, forcing him to jump. But it isn't backwards or in a way that feels like it's disrupted him.

Rather it looks like he was using the force of the explosion to help propel him forward into his next attack. All of his attacks so far had been powerful but Seifer proved to mitigate the damage to the minimum each time. He had hoped this time to try and so he hoped to get a more reasonable attack in by striking Seifer in his center of mass.
Seifer Almasy      Touta takes control. Seifer clicks his tongue against the roof of his mouth in irritation as Touta goes up and comes down, smashing into the center of mass. Seifer hits the ground, hard. He bounces once. Then, before he can hit the ground again, his gauntleted arm goes down. He handstands, swinging into a kick to keep Touta at bay. He flips backwards off the strength of one arm, his blade flashing upwards for Touta's face. In mid-leap, there's another snap, an explosion directly in front of Touta's eyes. A combo attack.

Seifer lands on both feet and takes up his stance again, driving forward. No letting up. No hesitation. No banter. No words. Just speed. A wild grin. Eyes wide. All in.
Touta Konoe      Touta finds his rhythm and in doing so lands his mark. But just getting one hit clearly isn't enough to stop a guy like Seifer. The moment he goes down he's quick to pick himself up again. If Touta didn't know any better that guy's persistence could make him an immortal all on its own. As the kick comes in first, Touta guards well enough against it. It's upon the flip and slash that Touta gets caught off guard and Seifer's Gunblade tears flesh. All that Touta has in the next moment is a snap to work with before the next attack blows up in his face.

Seifer presses forward not giving Touta an inch to recover. He clearly wants to take advantage of the momentum, though as the explosion subsides Touta's faces appears from the smoke. His eyes focused on Seifer as he charges in. It was clear that this battle was truly more than just raw power. It was a contest of skill, a battle of manipulating ebb and flow, and yet even through all of this...Touta reciprocates that seem smile back at his opponent. He knows that Seifer isn't messing around and in a way that's probably one of the nicest things he's done for Touta.

Seifer's approach was about to bring him into his optimal range. The point where his Gunblade's range was able to reach Touta but Touta's taichi was unable to reach him. So Touta would disrupt that distance. That smiling grin he show to Seifer would blur as he used his flash step technique bringing his smile right back into close quarters with Seifer and also back into striking range of his blade. Touta would slash across Seifer's chest from the top of his shoulder all the way down to his opposite hip. The slash should it land wouldn't be pretty. Once again Touta had amplified the weight to the point it'd feel more like he was slashing Seifer with a truck.
Seifer Almasy      Touta flash steps. He's faster than Seifer by a good margin. He gets right up inside Seifer's range. It should be completely impossible to parry from this distance - he's not only inside Seifer's range, he's inside Seifer's *arms*. Seifer could hug him sooner than he could stab him.

The slash comes up for the shoulder.

It hits the shoulder and goes no further. The weight of the blade hits his shoulder hard enough to send him to one knee, but it goes no further.

The stance is almost physically impossible. Seifer's got his arm locked around Touta's neck. Hyperion is pointed directly at his own throat. He's using his own shoulder for leverage, and Touta's shoulder, too. But his lips split in a wide, mad grin.

He has a free hand. It's the ungauntleted one.

It comes up behind Touta's head.

     Snap.

     Boom.
Touta Konoe      There's no escape for Seifer when the two of them are this close. Except Seifer doesn't end up dodging as he usually does. One hand outreached for Touta's next and the other keeps Hyperion to check Touta's blade. It's a clever move to keep Touta's blade from sinking in any deeper. But the piece de resistance is using that free hand for another immense explosion and just like it was for Seifer, there's no where for Touta to dodge. His neck is already caught. In the next moment...*Boom*.

Blood splatters everywhere from the explosion. Right on Seifer's face to littering the entire field. Sounds of panic and duress come from the crowds as they see Seifer hold the neck of a decapitated child. It's gruesome and more than likely this is being censored over some monitors. But for those in the stands they get to see blood squirt out like a fountain from the opening that Seifer has created and the sword fall to the ground.

But the fight isn't over. Even if Seifer couldn't recall how tough it was to actually kill this kill he would feel it. He would feel the neck he was grabbing onto start to slip through his hands. No Seifer could see it has it was happening. Touta's body was turning to ash as it began to blow past him. Even the blood on his face was evaporating...

What Seifer was about to experience was something that Touta had never shown him before. There is an old saying in fights that wherever the head goes the body goes. Now that Touta's head was blown off, it needed to regenerate. Though instead of regenerating back on top of his body, he formed his head back from one of the pools of blood created by Seifer's explosion a huge smirk still on his face even after it had literally been blown off. It almost makes it look like he even planned this, but honestly...This is all happening on accident, but he's been taught to fake it till you make it. From there, it's as the saying goes the body began to follow suit by regenerating after the head. From this Touta had simulatenously healed while re-positioning himself in a way to counter-attack Seifer. Touta brought one of his fists back to his chest and in the next moment unleashed a powerful fist hoping to catch him in his blind spot.
Seifer Almasy      The moment the head's off, Seifer's already backing up, kicking his feet against the ground to give himself some room. He's not stupid enough to assume Touta's beaten, not like that. He's not stupid enough to imagine it was that easy. Nevermind that you can't *die* here. It's like the Shrine.

Seifer doesn't like the Shrine. Fighting without a lethal edge dulls his senses.

And, well, he's right about Touta. To Seifer's credit, he reacts instantly, bringing his blade around to catch Touta's own. He doesn't have a blind spot. Seifer can see even if he's completely blind, as long as he's got Hyperion. Not that Touta would know that.

But then Seifer didn't expect the punch to come from literally nowhere, a regenerating fist smashing him in the face.

It hits him hard enough that he goes skidding backwards, hits the ground, and rolls. He almost falls out of the arena. His face is bruised as hell, and pretty damn bloody, too.

He's already back on his feet, though. "You know what?"

"Fair enough." Seifer presses his nose back into place with his gauntleted hand. "You showed me your best, so I'll show you mine."

     Seifer holds up his blade.

It's pointed directly at Touta. His stance is completely open, completely casual. His eyes are locked on the other youth.

LIMIT BREAK - CRISIS LEVEL MAXIMUM
                         ZANTETSUKEN ALMASY REWIND

It's a technique he should not know. It's a technique he should not be able to reproduce. It is a function of a legendary weapon, the sword of the Guardian Force Odin that Seifer Almasy killed. And yet...

He's seen the blade. He's seen the strike. He found its weakness.

So he just works backwards from there.

Seifer surges forward. It's like he's not even running. It's like his movement is just...movement. Like a glitchy motion, like he's just shooting forward without changing stance or moving his legs. The second before he meets Touta, he suddenly twists, a full turn, the blade slashing out for Touta's center.

He stops on the other side, straightening, and shoulders his gunblade.

                                    KEN
                             IRON-CUTTING BLADE
Touta Konoe      Truth be told he's not sure what he just did. It felt more like instinct than actual intent on his part. Though when Seifer tells him that he's been showed his best, he doesn't have it in him to refute it. How can you tell someone who says something like that so sincerely and reciprocates with everything they have that you just got lucky? You can't. So Touta makes another resolution instead. He'll take on Seifer's next attack with everything he's got. He won't run and he shirk away. If Seifer was going to give his hardest blow, then Touta was going to defend it with everything he had.

Seifer takes his stance bringing his blade up once more into the fencer's position. Touta extends his own hand out, and the taichi that had been dropped flies back into his grip. He grips his blade with both hands as he lowers into a defensive stance of his own. Seifer was going to put 100% into his final strke, and Touta would put in 100% to receive it. That was all there was to it. There were going to be no tricks. This fight was going to start how it ended. With not just raw power, but an emphasis on skill. He felt like that was the only appropriate way for this to end.

Seifer charges at Touta, but there's no...No running. He's not even sure it's appropriate to say he's flying. Floating doesn't even feel appropriate. Seifer is just coming and he charges in fast, it's only in that brief second that Seifer's vector of attack changes. While Touta can feel it coming, his arms won't move quick enough to allow him to parry. He'll be sliced in half like butter.

("Only one thing I can do...Just like then!!!")

He recalls back to his time training with Shimosa for this very tournament. Forcing himself to work out of his comfort zone. Attempting to perform moves that he thought incapable of doing without a crutch. Even if it was haphazardly though he had did it then. Now...He would try to do it once more. Without the use of his hoop he'd begin rotating the blood in his body, but even more than that he'd begin rotating and manipulating his Ki. While Seifer had been using his own offensively to create explosions, in this instance Touta would do the opposite. He'd use his Ki to reinforce the point of contact of Seifer's attack and create a Ki Barrier. The result is that for a moment, Seifer's blade makes contact with Touta's center and like armor it feels like it takes a moment for it to pierce through, but it does. Seifer's attack after some resistance cleaves through but not as much as he would like as Touta forces himself back away from the Gunblade.

Staggering a bit he recentered himself as the wound slowly begins to seal itself. He doesn't know what Seifer would try to do next but of all the possibilities, the one he chooses, this was the one that Touta would have never saw coming.

'Alright. I give. I've got nothin' else. Nice fight.'
