Android 17 The crowd once more goes wild as another bout was about to start.  The stands filled for this multiverse tournament that had been going on for a few days at this point.  The announcers going wild at introducing the next two fighters for this bout, as Seventeen steps onto the stage.  This time he jumps back and forth a bit, trying to loosen out his legs.

As always, Seventeen was dressed in the green and white shirt, a pair of jeans, boots, and a pair of gloves covering his hands.  There was also an orange armband on his right arm, with the word 'RANGER' written on it.  Black hair hanging down around his head as his piercing blue eyes measure up his next opponent.

"May the best fighter win," he says, offering a hand to shake his opponent.  Seventeen has no interest in making any of these fights personal, but he does want to have some fun.  Rivals make you stronger, enemies are just a hassle he doesn't want to deal with.
Solty Revant      This is Solty Revant's first fight of the tournament, and she is plenty nervous. She enters the arena timidly, looking up and around at the gathered crowd. She finally raises a hand to wave, and that seems to relieve some of her nervousness. The green-haired android girl then makes her way to the center of the arena.

Solty shakes Android 17's hand happily and smiles brightly. "I'm not sure. If the best one wins, that probably wouldn't be me." she says, rubbing the back of her head nervously. "But, good luck either way, Mr. 17!" she adds, then lets go of his hand and runs a short distance away before lowering into an amateur attack stance. "Ready when you are, Mr. 17!"
Lezard Valeth "You thought you were getting one of those TYPICAL commentators, but no! IT IS I, LEZARD VALETH! MY COMMENTARY SHALL BE ENGRAVED UPON YOUR SOUL!"

Lezard doesn't seem to be taking this seriously at all as he kicks back at the commentator's seat, looking over the pair arriving. "It appears that we have an android ranger on one side, and a green-haired android on the other. Wait one moment..." He shuffles some papers. "Oh, ah yes. Android 17 and Solty Revant. Well then, I suppose this makes sense, having the two machines fight. We will see who will be the one who is willing to do whatever it takes to clench victory from their opponent's hands! The typical wellwishing seems to be well in progress. Let's see what today's battle arena shall be!"

He hits a button, and a randomized process rolls through the holographic systems, immediately reformatting the arena. The ground begins to shake as a high ceiling forms above them, and then with a thunderous crash, platforms of stone and earth begin launching up into the air, endlessly driving the pair towards the ceiling, where a multitude of long, sharp spikes manifest!

"AHA! It seems that the battlefield is the Endless Descent! Look out, both of you! Don't let the rising platforms give you a /pointed/ lesson in slowness! AHAHAHAHAHA!"
Android 17 Seventeen looks towards the announcer's booth, frowning slightly.  "I'm not actually a machine, you know?  It should be Cyborg, but my creator was a moron who got killed by his own creations." Seventeen says, without much emotion in his voice.  "Besides, who cares if someone is a machine or not," he says with a shrug and focuses back on Solty.

"Well, you're interested in growing or else you wouldn't be here.  Don't worry about winning or losing, but rather focus on the fight itself.  It'll help you out in the long run," he says conversationally or perhaps like a mentor would.

Still, he leans back, getting into a stance and takes a brief moment to decide how to go.  With a flash of speed, Seventeen was out of the gate, aiming to try and send a kick towards the android across from him before dashing away with a burst of blinding speed that might as well be considered teleportation, aiming to find the next platform that near the ceiling.  If he was successful, it would look like he kicked off of her and flung himself to the next platform.
Solty Revant      Solty's stance relaxes and her expression turns to one of interest as she listens to Seventeen. She nods lightly as he finishes. "I do want to grow and get better! That way I can help Roy and protect people and-" She gets distracted talking and almost misses it when Seventeen comes flying in. She lets out a little yelp as she takes the hit right on the chin, snapping her head back and causing her to fall backward.

She rubs her head and laughs self-consciously as she gets back to her feet. "Oh..right. We're fighting." She laughs a little again, then turns to Seventeen again. "Alright...here I come!" she declares, then leaps toward Seventeen. And actually cracks the ground beneath her in the process. She isn't as fast as he is, but she's still pretty fast! She comes spiraling in and redirects her momentum at the last moment to try delivering a powerful spinning kick! And much like him, if her attack is good she bounces back to land on the next platform.
Lezard Valeth "The Android has stated once again for the record that he is not actually a machine, but a murderous augmented human with an unimaginative master. I do hope he had killed the man." Lezard announces, drinking from a mug of mead. "And I care, of course. It's always important to understand the nature of the beings who are fighting. The Android, however, appears to be quite fast, striking quickly to reposition his opponent dangerously close to those spikes! Yes, this is much more interesting!"

He tilts his head and hums for a moment. "Oh my, it appears that the uncertain Solty is built of stern stuff, shattering the platform beneath her as she leverages it to strike back in a spinning kick to rebound herself to what passes for momentary safety!"
Android 17 Seventeen goes flying back from the spinning kick, flying from the attack and bouncing across another platform.  Even bracing against that wasn't enough for him as he slides, but catching himself before falling off into the spikes.  Flipping back to his feet, he soars towards another platform.

However, it seems before he can reach it, he vanishes.  Using the platform as a kicking off point, he hurled himself through the air and using his ability to fly to try and land at the side of Solty.  His hand comes up in a powerful shot to her jaw, before aiming to sweep her legs from under her.

Seventeen's strikes are not insurmountable, but he's focused.  Opting for a combination of power and precision.  "You want to protect people huh?"
Solty Revant      Solty brings up her arms in an X-block when Seventeen throws that punch. She doesn't seem to be having any trouble actually tracking his movements. Her hair flutters from the gust created by the impact, but...it doesn't seem like it did much. There's a bit of a scuff on one of her arms, but not enough for her to be caught by the leg sweep.

She hops up as she sees it coming, then somersaults and brings a leg around in a powerful downward kick aimed at Seventeen's head. And once again if she is able she uses the rebound of force to hop away to another platform. "Yes! I want everyone to be safe. And I want to make sure I can handle those people who want to hurt other people so that no one has to be sad like Roy or the others that lost someone in the Blastfall!" she declares firmly, giving a double fist pump of determination.
Lezard Valeth "The Cyborg is sent flying from the impact, skipping over the platforms like a rock over water! Thankfully, he catches himself before he is crushed up into the spikes! SO CLOSE!" He laughs, waving his mug about. "A wonderful battle between the pair, a match of speed against strength! Cyborg 17 seems to be quite fast, however, able to move even faster than I can track! It's impressive, really, but will Solty be able to deal with the attempt to blindside her?"

There is a thump of his mug on the table, mead sloshing about. "AND THERE IT IS! SOLTY IS ALREADY PREPARED! She quickly blocks the feint, leaping over the followup sweep in order to drive down a somersault kick! A murderous beauty and grace marred only by a desire to save people. Ah, heroes. They never change." He drinks again at that.
Android 17 Seventeen staggers from the kick, bleeding from the shot to his head and causing him to move back in a defensive posture.  The fact that he can't seem to figure out her defenses makes him wonder if the stuff about being 'weak' or 'new' at this was just a load of crap to put him off his guard.  Seventeen wipes the blood from their busted lip and moves back into a defensive posture.

"Blastfall?" Seventeen's sure he hasn't heard of that, probably something that happened in her world.  Might as well ask about it, never know when information is going to be useful.  Leaping from the platform, Seventeen turns mid-air and releases a barrage of blasts from his hands.

They fly in several directions, aiming to surround her from multiple angles and try and overwhelm her defenses.  More than that, they seem to trace her movements, as he puts more room between them.  For now, seeing how she handles this.
Solty Revant      "I don't know who caused it, but it had to have been caused by someone. Mr. William proved that!" Solty starts explaining. Those energy blasts start coming in, and she takes off running and hopping at speeds 17 is probably familiar with. Her rapid steps crack the ground beneath her, and each leap causes a small crater as she hops between platforms and even hops off the wall at one point to try and outrun or outmaneuver the blasts. She is fairly successful, but while none hit her directly all those explosions do wear her down.

She leaps away from the last shot and...right toward Seventeen once more. This time she is winding up a punch even as she flies through the air! "It hurt a lot of people! Almost half the city was lost!"
Lezard Valeth Lezard leans in even more over the table, apparently enjoying the bloodsport. Say what you will, he's still Norse-like. "And there is the blood! Cyborg 17 has been wounded heavily from the counterstrike, staggering. He seems completely unable to penetrate Solty's defenses! He tries a new tactic, blasting energy bolts from his hands all over. It seems he is capable of arcing them in unusal patterns! He has some skill... and it is enough to pierce her defenses, scoring something of a hit!"

"Meanwhile, they seem to be exchanging their tragic histories. Solty apparently believes that half a city going up in flames consititutes a major tragedy! Thankfully, her combat prowess makes up for her lack of knowledge of apocalyptic events. She keeps breaking everything she jumps from, however, sending platforms shattering all over! Good thing more just keep coming up from below... Or is that a good thing? Hah! It seems that she has little more than punches or kicks at this point, but she seems to prove that with enough force, that is all you need!"
Android 17 Seventeen's arms cross this time, guarding against the attack and slides back from it.  Using the momentum from her attack, he goes flying off the side of the platform and falling to the next.  Hitting it with a thud and sliding across it he staggers forward, eyes focused in a dangerous way.  Taking a breath, he focuses his energy a bit better.

"That sounds terrible.  How long ago did it happen?" He asks, while this time he focuses another barrage of blasts, this time trying to do what he did before, figuring she would try and dodge or take it in the same way, but this time...

He waits for her to charge again, firing a second set that aims to streak in like missiles on a direct course for her. Each one blasting in succession, aiming to try and keep her from a closing distance.
Solty Revant      Solty again does just what she did before, leaping and running about to try and avoid the shots. And the addition of the faster shots seems to do the trick! She takes a direct hit from several of the blasts, and finally even gets blown off of one of the platforms. She falls for a short distance before a orange-yellow aura surrounds her and she floats back up quickly to land on a platform again. "Ow..." she says, wincing a bit and holding a spot on her side where some of her synthetic skin has been blown away, revealing the shining metal beneath and causing some arcs of electricity to flow over the wound.

Despite this, she stays where she is for a few moments. "It happened about 12 years ago. I didn't actually experience it, but the effects can be seen everywhere. It seems like every family has an adopted child who was orphaned in the Blastfall. And I've seen pictures and videos. An entire city district was reduced to rubble. Even my best friend, Kasha, was adopted."

Since her first attempt at a charge was deterred by explosive energy blasts, Solty has to make a new plan. It has become difficult to get close to Seventeen. "So...I want to get stronger, so I can help make sure that other disasters like that don't happen, and that the bad men who try to cause such disasters get punished!"

As soon as she finishes speaking, in that very instant...she somehow goes from being over on that platform over there, to being over right beside Android 17. One fist is glowing with the same orange-yellow glow as her flight aura a moment ago, and seems to be vibrating so fast that it actually blurs. And when she appears she is already mid-punch!
Lezard Valeth "The Cyborg gets smashed backwards once more, rumbling and tumbling away from certain destruction! But his response is powerful. It looks like he's capable of learning quickly, as he draws his opponent into a trap! Let this teach you: Remain flexible in your options, lest you become predictable and boring! What does not grow, falls into decay!"

He gestures in the air, puncutating his speech as the battle grows even more intense. "Solty's own nature is laid bare, sparks and mechanics revealed under her false flesh! Though even through this, she continues to fight for her friend, seeking power!Power enough to move like the Cyborg does, blurring through space to strike with a massive blow! WILL THE MACHINE BREAK THE MAN?"
Android 17 There is a flash in his eyes about being adopted, though it doesn't shake him...just reminds him of his own life.  "Yeah...I know how that goes.  Luckily seems like people have it better than me and my sister did when it came to being adopted.  Still...that's pretty rough," he says with some degree of sympathy.

She moves with the sudden burst of speed, and Seventeen turns as the Android barrier turns on.  The green field is smashed by the orange hand, as the two collide in a brilliant show of fireworks and force.  Platforms go everywhere at the exchange.

However, her fist wins out, the barrier shattered as he is hit.  This time, Seventeen goes flying and hitting a platform that had just risen out above the spikes.  He looks battered, hurt and on his last legs...but he's not down yet.

Getting back on his feet with a grunt of effort he looks up at her.  There is going to be little room for error on this.  He vanishes, and appearing behind her he moves to swing at the back of her head with everything he had left, aiming to try and send her flying.

Vanishing again, he aims to appear in the direction she is flying, if he managed to connect, aiming to kick her towards another platform.  He vanishes once more, aiming directly above the same platform, aiming both hands down and firing barrage after barrage down at her (hopefully) kicked body.
Lezard Valeth "NO! NO! THE MAN HOLDS AGAINST THE MACHINE! A TRIUMPH OF THE FLESH OVER METAL!" Lezard proclaims. "THE CYBORG WILL NOT STOP! HE WILL NOT RELENT! ALREADY THEIR COLLISION SPLITS THE HEAVENS, THE RADIANCE OF THE CONFLICT A DEFIANCE AGAINST THOSE WITHOUT THE WILL TO FACE THEM!" Oh yeah, Lezard is getting into this. "He is battered, he is BLEEDING, but THE SEVENTEENTH CYBORG DOES NOT YIELD! Already, he has marshalled his energy, sweeping behind his targets to strike a MIGHT BLOW for the back of her head, sending her flying... Only for him to use his speed to strike AGAIN! AND AGAIN! AND AGAIN! HE CANNOT STOP! HE IS RELENTLESS! HE IS MURDEROUS! GO FORTH AND DESTROY!"
Solty Revant      Solty once again follows Seventeen's movements...but not quite fast enough. Instead of getting hit in the back of the head, she gets hit right in the face. This still sends her flying of course, and she is helpless to stop the rest of the combo attack. The final barrage of blasts pins her to the platform which rises quickly.

There is a smash and a pained yelp as Solty is crushed into the ceiling spikes, and when the platform lowers once more she is left pinned. Now with several holes in her mechanical form, each sparking with electricity, the green-haired android who felt like she was doing well is suddenly on her own last leg.

It takes a bit of effort, but Solty manages to pull herself free and falls down to land on another platform, wincing from the pain. She falls to one knee after landing and looks up at Seventeen. "W-wow..." she stammers, then smiles a pained smile. "Hehe...y-you are really strong, Mr. 17." she says as she struggles to get back to her feet. She clenches her fists and they start to glow with that orange-yellow aura again, then it spreads to surround her body. "But, I won't give up! If I can't be strong, then I won't be able to protect people!" She leaps upward, once again causing fractures in the platform beneath her, and streaks through the air to try and land a punch at the still floating cyborg.
Android 17 The two collide, trying to get the upper hand in the fight. However, it seems that today Solty would edge Seventeen out in being able to last longer. The two collide, and the orange aura once more overtakes the barrier, breaking through it.
Android 17 The two collide, trying to get the upper hand in the fight.  However, it seems that today Solty would edge Seventeen out in being able to last longer.  The two collide, and the orange aura once more overtakes the barrier, breaking through it.

Seventeen goes flying, but this time he does not get back up.  The force of the blow is too much and he's simply not able to avoid or block anymore.  With that, he lays back on the ground dazed.

And he does not rise back to his feet.
Lezard Valeth "It seems impossible that Solty can escape her destruction at this point, but then she gives a heartfelt speech! Heroes always seem to give these speeches while they are about to perish. Do they think someone will be there to record their defiance before they are slaughtered? But then she seems to be able to still fight! She leaps! She strikes out at her opponent...!"

"AND HE FALLS!" Lezard yells. "THE CYBORG HAS BEEN DEFEATED! HE FALLS TO THE GROUND AND IS UNMOVING! Solty Revant has proven that whatever ridiculous methodology has produced her existence is superior... for now. But she has many trials to become the MECC Champion! But today... She is triumphant! I am your MECC host, Lezard Valeth, Commentator of Midgard. Farewell, and spurn the false gods!"
Solty Revant      Solty floats over to Seventeen when he doesn't rise to his feet. "Mr. 17? Are you alright?" she asks worriedly, landing beside him and crouching to give him a little push on the shoulder. "This place is supposed to stop actual injuries, right?" She is always worried that it might not work for some reason. If he doesn't rise after a few moments, she moves to pick him up and take him to the nearest healer. "Don't worry Mr. 17. I'll make sure you get taken care of."
Android 17 "I'm fine, just a bit beat up," Seventeen says, getting himself to his feet, though doesn't mind any help up.  "Well, you're pretty strong now...so don't count yourself as weak.  Part of being strong is KNOWING your strengths and weaknesses and judging yourself accordingly.  Thinking too low about yourself is just as dangerous as being overconfident."

He groans, "Lets get out of here before the crazy wizard starts wanting to throw one of us to the lions or something."
Lezard Valeth "Lions are boring. I'd send in the chimera." Lezard replies from above.
Solty Revant      Solty helps Seventeen up, nodding lightly as she listens. "Right...confidence. Kasha is always telling me I should be more confident." she says as she walks out with the other (non-)android. She blinks in concern as she hears Seventeen's warning about Lezard. "...would he do that?" she asks quietly. Lezard's response seems to make it clear that...yes, he would.
