Spider-Man     ACT 1: ENRICHMENT
    CHAPTER 3: MENDELEVIUM

You have been asked to arrest Michael "Mountain" Marko for questioning. Marko is a former ATF agent, now an enforcer, hit man, and general fixer for the unknown criminal organization responsible for the exoenergy technologies trade in New York City. He is a known artificial Enhancement obsessive, and an extremely high-risk target who has made no secret of his superhuman strength, speed, and endurance. Recover any information about his superiors, his orders, and his holdings.

"It's Marko! I knew he was going to do something like this! No subtlety. He drove a truck or something into the side of the 3rd Precinct police station! I don't know what he's after in there, but we need to make sure he doesn't get it! Seriously, even if this is just a parking mistake, we can get him on the murder-for-hire part, I guarantee. I can't wait for you guys though, I'm gonna go in to try to get things under control while you get here!"

As was warned, though, Man Mountain Marko was notoriously difficult to find. The only way to catch him was in the act, and the act he'd chosen to do was... distressingly particular. The 3rd police precinct is smoking from the side, and a heavy truck -- a lesser-quality knockoff-design of one of those tanks from Tombstone's operation -- is partway lodged in it. There's a sound of gunfire and screaming from within.

Jeanne Alter was given awareness of this ahead of time by her contact, GREEN. He advised she be near -- "Get arrested for being, ahehehe, disorderly maybe!" -- to pounce on things early. Others aren't so lucky. Spider-Man puts out an alert on all his Spider-Frequencies to those who have helped before. MICHAEL MARKO was seen by wounded, concussed witnesses. He can't wait for the others to enter, though. He's leapt in through the roof. The front doors and the side breach are both available entrances, as well as upper windows and the lonely roof access. No loading or parking, though, this is Manhattan after all.

Police from nearby precincts are scrambling to coordinate an emergency response. For obvious reasons, the police under attack inside the precinct can't do it themselves. Citizens don't need to be told to stay away, though, they're motivated enough all on their own to keep from gawking nearby.
Ritsuka Fujimaru Jeanne's method of getting arrested: Punching a hipster in the face. In her defense, he /did/ toss his coffee at a server, but she probably went a little overboard setting him on fire.

Just a little.

Either way, it got her in, and just in time for the festivities to begin! Next comes the fun part: Figuring out what to do about this Marko fellow. <<"It sounds like things are getting more heated here. You made the right call, identifying this man.">> Jeanne chuckles lightly as she all but saunters along not too far from Marko's path of destruction, largely leaving the heavy lifting to him as she observe his work while glancing back every so often.

<<"He's bound to have pursuers, you know. I'm going to guess that you didn't tell me about this just to go sightseeing, though, did you?">>
Staren     At a glance, people might think Iron Man is flying through the sky. It's a humanoid, robotic figure painted red and flying over New York, after all.

Close up, though, the difference is clear: There's no gold component of the color scheme, the armor is a bit bulkier and more greebled, and rather than the iconic mask there's a translucent blue visor.

Staren lands on the truck and charges through the hole in the wall. Hearing screams, his first priority is to extract wounded officers (or resurrectable corpses so that they don't get exploded from collateral damage in the ensuing fight). If he sees Marko while doing that, he hurls flasks that explode into tangles of fast-growing vines to slow him up.

Officers concerned about resurrectable comrades get a 'Don't worry, I can bring him/her back.' Marko himself gets a 'So, what's it all for? Surely you didn't seek out all this power just because you have some vendetta against cops, right?'
Axel Near the coordinates, in an alleyway a short distance away, a dark portal spits out a figure in a black hood, lean and fast. Axel closes the portal behind him, runs towards the street, and then leaps on top of the truck, before bounding off it and through the second story window.

He's not a master of stealth, but he doesn't need to be. Axel's listening in to Marko's probably super loud footsteps, and waiting for him to approach the staircase, either to go up it or go into a room near it. Once that happens, Axel will slide down it, summon his red-and-silver chakrams into his hands, and throw them both at Marko's face to cut into him and stagger him. They spin in place for a few moments if they hit, grinding into him.

He has superhuman endurance. It'll be fine!

"Sorry I'm late, have you /seen/ New York traffic?"
Spider-Man     Marko's path of destruction is brutal. Jeanne, in her observations, gets to see a man dash down a hallway with effortless bounds, dodging gunfire, then yank a police officer out from behind cover while snapping his arm. He crushes his windpipe in one clean motion. "Ha-cha!" He says, laughing. "Like /paper/! Boys, get the key! I want it on the truck before I'm done wishboning the rest of these cardboard idiots." He tosses the asphyxiating man aside, chuckling a bit madly as he bounces on both feet, and breaks into a run towards a main office floor, leaping into the air and diving into the center of it. One of his men, a two-piece-suit-wearing fellow in a balaclava and wielding a heavy shotgun, kneels to snag a key from the dying man and head back towards an area marked "EVIDENCE".

"Pursuers? Hehahahaha, well, I suppose prison makes it easier to find the man and slit his giddy little stupid throat someday. A cell or a grave, either's fine for Green, my trusty little Avenger, take your pick! But could you be a dear? If you see him take a particular little drug, teach him those wonderful anti-drug lessons he never learned and, aheheheheh, burn and boil them, would you?" Green mutters in a cheerful, encouraging way to Jeanne.
Spider-Man     Staren finds a wake of occasional corpses, as well as several men with shattered limbs. Some have been shot. Most have been brutalized in close-range melee, in ways that are pointlessly gratuitous, or in some cases are just plain show-offy with raw strength. Many are recoverable. Following behind Marko leads to the main office floor, though some of his men are off to a side area, shooting audibly to clear more police. It looks like Marko is alone and attacking the police to draw attention away from a particular target elsewhere. Spider-Man already swung in, and he's in the middle of being very distracted by Marko by getting in a protracted fistfight with the man. He quips, "Is this a height thing? I promise, the muscles only make you look weirder!"

The man himself is slowed, briefly, when Staren launches those vines. The walking beeftower that is Man Mountain Marko seems to take it as a challenge. "Finally, a little weight to pull." He says, taking a single dramatic motion and ripping the vines up and stepping forward. His momentum has been lost, though. He shifts around, showing more of his body. Thick muscles, messy short-cut brown hair, a black suit coat with no shirt underneath. "Cops don't matter." He answers Staren. "Nothin' matters but strength and havin' some fun with it, Iron Kid. Hey, boys, watch this. Ever opened a tin can with your bare hands?"

He leaps at Staren and tries to rip his helmet off, break his neck, or tear apart his robot head by snatching his skull in one beefy hand and then just slamming him around over his head several times.
Spider-Man     No convenient staircase for Marko to be heading up, but Axel does find a good overhanging area above a main office floor that he can ambush Marko from by leaping from above! Eventually he has to let go of Staren if Staren hasn't already escaped, one way or another, when Axel slams those chakrams into his face. He's stunned by one. He headbutts the other, suffering its impact directly to try to bounce it back at Axel. "Be surprised how fast traffic /evaporates/ when you stop caring about paper people." He replies with a booming sort of voice, his head bruised but not bloodied by the impacts. He's definitely some kind of enhanced.

Axel's going to need to press in with a more sustained and impactful approach if he's gonna get this guy down. Especially when his next response is to throw several large desks at him, then bound over to try to beat him to death with one of the office chairs held like some sort of ostentatious club.
Ritsuka Fujimaru Jeanne seems content to observe Marko's artistry for the time being, curious to see just how far he can make it with only his own skill, powers, and his own men working with him. If not for the all death and screaming, Jeanne would look more like a girl going on a leisurely evening stroll rather than one waiting for her opportunity to murder the crap out of someone.

Alas, things can't remain so idyllic, especially after Green informs her of a certain drug to destroy. <<"That's more like it. So I suppose I'll need him alive and moving for now, at least. And it looks like there's already some people trying to stop him.">>

She says nonchalantly as Axel's spiked flaming wheel things crash into Marko's face, Staren's vines entangle his legs, and Spider-Man exchanges both jokes and fists with the meatman. She's about to move in to intercept, too, when she notices the man in the suit heading for the EVIDENCE area.

Maybe she doesn't need Marko after all. "Hmm.. Marko! You three! Don't kill each other too quickly, or I'll be disappointed."

Pursuing the suitman instead, Jeanne takes up the role of being his MURDEROUS GUARDIAN ANGEL. She doesn't move so close as to try and physically impede him, of course, but she does put a little more effort into actually catching up with the guy before starting to hurl spears at anyone that so much as looks his way.
Axel Well, this isn't going as planned. Axel leaps off the balcony and throws chakrams into Marko's face. One is headbutted straight back at him, which Axel moves to matrix dodge to the side, but is grazed by slightly before his hand moves up to catch both of them and take a breath. And then, the desks come flying. One slams Axel into a wall, though he pushes it backwards with sheer strength, before another comes for his head, smashing against the wall as Axel quickly ducks and slides forward. The office chair is swung several times. Axel ducks the first blow, but the second smacks him across the face, sending him skittering backwards as he rubs his jaw. "Ow, okay, screw you."

With a flick of both wrists, the chakrams are lit aflame. "Let's turn up the heat!" Axel leaps upwards, dashing in the air, and moves to land into a kick to stagger Marko, before moving to nimbly dash around him and slam those flaming chakrams into him and start grinding his flesh. He's constantly moving, trying to keep Marko unaware of where exactly to strike.
Spider-Man     The man in the suit seems to not understand what's going on, but he also seems to not especially care. He can't quite tell why this mysterious person is helping him, but he doesn't know of her as a threat quite yet, since technically he's from a faction of criminals she's only helped in the past, not caused a problem for.

    Yet.

He's making it to the evidence locker, and breaking in with his stolen key. Nervous eyes are cast back to the source of the flame, but he's fast with the security, and moves in at what he /thinks/ is a pace that's faster than Jeanne can catch up with him at. He's going among the lockers...

There's a lot of weapons here. Most being held for pickup by Damage Control. He grabs a few choice pieces from there, but his eyes are most of all on what looks like a plastic bag of mysterious green vials. Might that be what Green warned of?
Staren     Staren didn't think Marko would decide to fight him. Surely the guy is here to GET something and that's more important than fighting, right? Apparently, he miscalculated.

Staren is so startled he doesn't get the forcefield up. The helmet comes off (and Staren makes a mental note to alter the design so THAT can't happen again) and he stares up at the mountain of a man in surprise. Then light washes over his neck and head, disguise fading to reveal the clearly-robot head. Which laughs and just starts dumping electricity (and point-blank beam cannon blasts with the right hand and counter-grabbing with the left) into Marko. "You don't really think it'll be that easy, do you? Please. I've been at this game longer than you!"
Ritsuka Fujimaru Jeanne notices the suit man's apprehension all too readily, and she's enjoying it a fair bit. A spear goes that way, a fire goes there, and she even humors his attempt to outpace her by actually slowing down to toss some fires into some of the cells she passes by. There's no reason to make things easier for these officers, after all, and she can only follow someone for so long before getting antsy.

The weapon do get her attention, though. Although Jeanne isn't particularly familiar with the large majority of things, her curiousity does get the better of her, and she moves to take a few of those weapons just to have something to mess around with. The real prize, however, is the bag of green vials.

Time to spring into action. Picking up the pace, Jeanne waits until it looks like the man in the suit is just about to leave before finally moving to block the exit with herself. "Tell me, what is it that you're holding there? The sooner you tell me what I want to hear, the sooner you can find out if his head is still in one piece." For emphasis, she conjures up a flame to trail the tip of her sword, tapping her finger against it just to maintain a look of idle indifference despite her barely-veiled threats.
Spider-Man     "Ha-HA!" Marko dodges around the first blade and barely manages to clap both palms together and halt the first burning blade, and he's slammed to the ground, pinned by Axel's attack. His hands are blistering. Something in his body drains to do it... Long endurance attacks seem to exhaust him most effectively. The chakram grinds into him, burning a strip of flesh along his bared chest beneath the suit jacket. "Been years since I got a burn. Deep-fried my arm just to see if my skin still worked that way once." He laughs. "Come on. COME ON!" He maneuvers the arm, clenches the edge of the blade /between his teeth/ to free both hands, and then swings a heavy uppercut at Axel, trying to knock him off and then get some space to get on his feet and kick a fresh desk at Axel.

Axel calls out the paths of one of Marko's men, and Spider-Man stops fruitlessly trying to bind the man down with heavy webbing. He swings off into the deeper hallways towards the business with Jeanne and Marko's men.
Spider-Man     Marko would undoubtedly pounce on Axel next if it weren't for Staren dumping electricity and beam-blasts into him. He stumbles to one side, caught off-guard, but takes on a bloodthirsty grin. "Everyone else /is/ that easy. That's what it's like being /strong/!" Despite the pain and blasting, he pushes towards Staren, intent on pinning the robot body to one of the walls for a brutal festival of punching, though the particularly sustained electricity seemed to drain something about his momentum and energy... Marko himself doesn't realize it, though. "Veterancy doesn't mean a thing, if you can get a little more /weight/ in those swings. I get to be proof of that, hahaha! When whatever meat wagon they got for robots comes for you, tell 'em Man Mountain Marko sent ya!"
Axel Axel is shocked by the insane stuff Marko does, and gets knocked off, and then kicked backwards by a desk, almost tripping over himself as he bruises. Grunting, Axel calls his chakrams back to his hands, and then thinks. How can he get one over on Marko?

Another chakram is thrown at Marko's head. Marko's familiar with this, so he can probably handle it. But what Axel's hoping he can't handle is the followup, as Axel shouts and snaps his fingers. "Burn, baby, burn! FIRAGA!"

Lances made of pure fire appear in the air, and move to burn their way through Marko, hitting him in a large volley. It's really, really hot, hot enough for third degree burns on a normal man. Axel's okay if he has to go to the ICU for burns, as long as he's still alive afterwards.
Staren     "Are you a masochist?!" Staren replies when Marko talks about frying his hand just to see what happened.

He keeps up the electricity as long as he's grabbed, as well as firing his particle beams point-blank unless Marko grabs that arm, too. He tries to block the punches with his other hand, but even if they get through, well... the wall will break long before he does. Also kicking with his feet, for what it's worth... although since the guy is standing here talking instead of accomplishing his objective, Staren's not exactly in a hurry to get him back on course.

"Dude, I have a 20-ton war machine with plenty of strength, but it wouldn't fit in the door. Past a point, if you want more weight in your swings, you're going to need some kind of mass-altering technology!"
Spider-Man     Jeanne snags some weapons. Useful stuff! There's a bundle of rather unusual grenades here, and what looks like re-engineered chunks of some alien spacecraft's thruster. Very fiery things! Sure to be of pleasant use for someone like her, or maybe interest to her employer. As for the man himself, he immediately draws a pistol-sized re-engineered alien blaster when Jeanne threatens him.

"The fuck do I know?! We don't get /told/ things, some bullshit about compartments and risks. These fucks don't know what they've got, so Marko gets it because Marko wants it. Probably more fucked up steroids. Out of my way!" He's clearly twitchy and frightened, but filled with bravado. With the collaboration not entirely /established/, he's quick to turn on her and if she doesn't move, quick to try to blast her with a heavy bolt!

The vials... look normal, up close. Just normal Earth vials. Full of a normal Earth drug. An enticing roiling fluid, gently sloshing with micromotions as if it were alive itself. But of course it's not. It's just a normal drug, after all.
Ritsuka Fujimaru Lowering her blade, Jeanne smirks when the man in the suit draws his pistol-like thing. "Oh? Are you challenging me? How cute~ If you weren't so quick to show your hand, I'd... Draw..."

A blank, apparently. Coming up with quips like that boy in the red spider getup is harder than it looks! The Servant rubs her forehead lightly, stalling a bit too much and having to bring up her arm to block the incoming bolt with her bracer when the man in the suit fires on her. "Rude. Fine, then. You can die like everyone else here!"

Jeanne chucks one of the two grenades she's pocketed right at him, but doesn't actually make sure to arm it first. It's more of a diversion than anything else, anyway, as she immediately follows that up with RIGHTEOUS FLAMES.

Evil righteous flames of purple evilness. It's the least she could do for getting shot in the arm, but she'll have to tend to it later after making sure she sufficiently immolates the guy. Whether those vials go up in flames with him is a secondary matter.
Spider-Man     How does one fist-fight fire-spears? Well, mostly by trying to punch Staren directly through a wall, then take cover behind the wall, but the spears of fire are lodged good and deep in that thick beef he calls a body there. He's not slowing down much, regardless of the degree of his burns. Not the way he slowed down when Axel pinned him briefly, forcing the sustained damage instead of a burst. Maybe it's gotta be a particular approach? Who knows exactly what's up there, but he's busy with Staren. Heavy bursts may not slow him down, but at least they'll be a good way to knock his grip off of Staren in a moment.

And once he loses his grip on Staren, he'll make a different use of that grip to sling the shattered chunk of wall at Axel, even with a piece of the building's support still stuck to it, and charge in close to keep him from using those spearss again with some boxer-style brutal punches.
Spider-Man     But while he has his grip on Staren, the kept-up electricity really takes it out of Marko. The bursts of blasts do less to kill his momentum and energy, but the sustained stuff like that? Absolutely. Eventually he takes out the wall, and has to take cover from Axel, and even then, gets knocked off of his grip on Staren, grunting in a short bit of pain. "Masochism is for weak people. All I care about is being strong and knowing it. That's what we're gonna get out of this. /Stronger/!" What comes next is a much shorter grab, trying to snag Staren's torso and then slam him hard from overhead into the ground enough to send him into the basement, and out of Marko's life for a bit. "Boys! You done?!" He calls out to someone elsewhere.

There's nothing heard back besides Spider-Man's voice calling, "Don't worry, Marko! Everything in your life gets done shortly, I'm sure this will too!" Spidey must be working on the side-matter.
Staren     The moment Staren's free, he makes sure to keep his distance from Marko. Even if that didn't go too badly, he doesn't like being grabbed. He goes back to focusing on extracting the wounded/dead police before a building can fall on them and applying nanobandages. On the other hand, this also results in keeping Staren from physically attacking Marko for a moment, aside from pelting him with the beam cannons each time he re-enters the station.

Verbally pointing things out though is something Staren just can't stop himself from doing. "So you turned to CRIME to get stronger? Come on man, this is the Multiverse! You know there are worlds where you can get put in a combat robot or a genetically engineered super-body? No breaking into police stations or hiring hitmen required! This is about more than that. Do you just like breaking rules and pushing people around? Because dude, that just gets you killed by heroes. Even supposing you win this fight, how long do you think you'll survive with all of our friends, with the avengers, hell, with people just like you who wanna see if you're a challenge, gunning for you? The track your life is on is speeding towards a cliff, friend! You'd better find a new path, fast!"
Axel Marko forces his way through the spears, and then grabs a piece of wall and slings it at Axel, who leaps on top of it. This stops him from getting smashed by it! It does not stop him from getting slung into a wall by the sheer force, smashing an Axel-sized crater into it. Groaning heavily, the redhead moves forward, and a series of punches are coming at him. Arms move up to block, bruising from his sheer strength, as the fighter suddenly slides away, making some distance.

"Hm. I think I know how you play. Let's see if I can finish this!" Axel snaps his fingers again, as a massive sphere of fire surrounds Marko. It begins burning into him, sustaining the fire instead of just being repeated bursts, trying to see if it's constant pain and damage that is what fucks up Marko. If it doesn't seem to be working, just like the fire lances, Axel throws his chakrams, and has them kept against Marko's torso, grinding into him and trying to sustain with physical attacks instead.

Staren gets a reply. "Are you seriously trying to negotiate with the guy who calls people 'paper'?"
Spider-Man     The man moves to dive away from that grenade, clearly frightened. The flames overtake the man's body, and he begins to scream. The drugs, as well, are consumed in the flame. Strange roiling fluid pops into a stranger boiled steam and it runs along his arm, sucking into his lungs as he screams in pain. He... starts laughing an unnerving laugh. His skin is starting to turn gray without turning to ash. Even while on fire, he manages to shove through the pain and get up.

Perfect time for Spider-Man to arrive, fresh from beating the rest of Marko's men. "Woah!!" He shouts. "What's going on?!" He snatches up a nearby fire extinguisher with his webs and starts to try to spray down Justice Fire, which is probably less than great as a solution. Then he sees the source. "Wait-- Jeanne?! Why--" The graying man immediately decks Spider-Man so hard he flies through the opposite wall. His skin is twisting along his skull in a way that might look... Familiar, to Jeanne. He's too wounded to last too much longer though. Cackling, he tries to set upon Jeanne with distressingly intense amounts of strength, punching and grappling with strength enough that his fire-disoriented, missed strikes rip through the reinforced metal of the lockers nearby.
Staren
"I'm just saying, he's going about self-improvement all wrong!" Staren points out to Axel.
Spider-Man     Axel finds that Marko refuses to stay in one spot, urgently gettnig out of the way of sustained AoE attacks like that with swift bounds and dashes, rendering them short bursts themselves in a way, trying to close in on him even despite Staren's occasional shots throwing him a little off. When Axel manages to pin him with the Chakrams, though, he starts to slow down, enough to make it less a dashing leaps and bounds situation and more a determined march sort of situation.

Marko's tone doesn't shift. But what he says to Staren does, as Staren busies himself with saving the lives of the people Marko and his men have wounded and killed. "Hahahaha! You think the Avengers are gonna stop this? You think they're gonna come swooping down and save the little guy? They don't give a shit, Iron Kid! When all the cameras point at a big alien invasion, a big bombing, there they go. But when thousands of the little guys lose their livelihood, you think the Avengers come to save 'em? Hahahahaha! There's only one way to get saved, and that's to save yourself with some real strength! Avengers like that... are only human... S'why we do... what we do..."

He's running out of steam. He's reaching for something in his jacket pocket, a heavy high-tech injector with some strange light-green fluid within, as if it'll pull his feet out of the fire that Axel has put him in. There's five green lights on it, of which only three are still lit. He's trying to bring it to his neck...
Ritsuka Fujimaru That wasn't what Jeanne was expecting. Despair and screaming, sure, but the laughing? The grayness? "Hm. So you show your true colors, then. You could have come up with a better lie, you know." Jeanne scoffs lightly as she raises her blade once more, but then Spider-Man appears!

"Child? What-" And then he gets punched through a wall. The Avenger's expression hardens rather quickly at that as she turns back to the puncher, noting that oddly familiar stretch to his skin even if the coloration is different.

It's unmistakeable. She'll have to question Green about that later. For now, however, she has a freakishly strong burning man to deal with! The Avenger gets caught off guard and pushed into a pile of lockers, grunting painfully at the impact of back on metal on metal. She jerks her head from side to side just enough to avoid getting her own head bashed in, at least, and her sword is still firmly clutched in her hand as she drives it up towards the man's armpit towards his head.

Just in case, though, she also adds fire. Can't be too careful there, and she needs to get him out of the way fast if she's going to try to snag what's left of those vials AND Spider-Man at the same time.
Axel It's working, Axel's right on track. But Marko's moving to enject his vial. If he is able to get more power...Axel's not sure how much further he can go.

Time for a QUICK-TIME EVENT. Axel dashes forward, stopping the fire to move to intercept Marko and try and rip the injector out of his hand, leveraging his innate superhumanity to try and push back against the man who's running out of steam. If Axel can get it...he'll immediately slide away, and call out to Staren. "Fire a sustained shot on him, now!"
Staren     Staren actually looks concerned at that. "What d'you mean lose their livelihood? What happened? Whatever you're talking about, I'm sure we can help them..." When he sees that vial come out, he reaches for his laser pistol, trying to shoot the vial if Axel doesn't get it. Either way, at Axel's command he sighs but pulls a submachine gun and a magazine from his bag -- ejecting the current magazine, loading the new one, and firing a spray of taser gel bullets Marko's way!
Spider-Man     The shattered, boiled drugs disperse fully, but the burning man is still in motion, his mouth and eyes filled with fire that almost seems worse than Jeanne's own. He's strong, fast, but not experienced. He was a normal crook up until that moment, a simple and plain fellow with little experience in melees of this sort, which means that despite his tremendous physical boost, he takes the stab square in his armpit. The blade almost stops at the shoulder before it reaches his head; it's as if his body has become hard as granite. But Jeanne manages to make it through.

There's only a few fragments of leftover vial now, with most of them popped by the heat of the fire. One is mostly intact, with a good chunk of a serial code and bar code on it. What Jeanne decides to do with it will be up to her, but surely it will grant her some insight. Spider-Man is struggling to his feet. "G-gah! Did you kill him!?" He looks worried, but not so much that he can't think to just look away when he sees all that blood. "Guh! I'm never gonna get used to you doing that! I wish you'd gotten riot-foamed at the stake instead, that would make all this a lot less stressful." He's on his feet too with some of Jeanne's probable help, to get back to Marko.
Ritsuka Fujimaru With most of the drugs destroyed, Jeanne doesn't find it quite so unappealing to take the vial with the identifying whatchacallits on it. Rolling her shoulder and popping it lightly with another wince, she pockets that vial before turning to Spider-Man as he speaks up.

"Um... Yes? That's what happens when people fight." She says it all matter-of-fact'ly, frowning in disapproval even as she moves to help Spider-Man along. "Are you really telling me you haven't done it before with that kind of strength?"

A beat, then a long sigh. "... Of course you haven't. Different times, I guess. But... Did that man feel strange when he hit you? More than just.. Flesh and bone?"
Spider-Man     "No! I mean, it doesn't happen for me! I've never... Had to kill someone myself, at least. I can just, you know!" Spider-Man explains by sort of gently tapping his opposite palm with his knuckles. "Lightly." He literally just hits people at partial strength as a default action, it seems. "He sure didn't do that though. I haven't taken a hit like that since... Guh. Since a long time. He really had a bit more punch there than even some of Tombstone's swings! What /was/ he? That was an alien or something, right?" It's okay to kill people if they're an alien. That's how Marvel Morality works.

Axel has a /surprisingly/ hard time getting the thing away from him. He doesn't actually manage to get it out of his hands, but he can keep it away from Marko's neck. "Ghhh-- What are you doing?! No! I /need/ it!" He shouts, in pain and stress, but it's not before Staren manages to sling taser gel bullets at Marko. Up and down his torso, lightning dances and he screams in pain. It takes a full ten seconds of this show for his body to weaken enough that Axel can wrench the drug away from him!

Spider-Man swings in just about now, helping to wrap things up. Quite literally. As Marko starts to collapse, he makes sure Marko will stay down by wrapping wrapping him with webbing, and pinning him to the ground. "Okay! Okay, manlet rage can be done now, big guy. Let's take it easy! You don't have to blow a short fuse with me." Marko isn't even short, he's closer to six feet. He's too exhausted to say that though.

This is mostly settled. Spidey cleared out most of the mooks, Axel and Staren took down Marko, and Jeanne... resolved her own objectives, and received her own clue for her next activities. Spider-Man won't be attentive enough to Jeanne to stop her from escaping as she likes, nor will the scattered police for sure. The weird mutant body can be recovered, though he's rez-proof dead unfortunately. It'll be hard to see what they were after until the police re-catalog all the evidence. Marko's passed out. Fatalities are few to none, after some rez work. All in all, a good and well-settled operation!
Ritsuka Fujimaru "Not once? Really? Hm... Good." Jeanne sounds skeptical, but she not so much that she can't just shrug it off. She doesn't answer Spider-Man right away as he questions the source of the gray-suit-man's power, but knowing what she knows...

Well, what's the worst that could happen? If nothing else, he'd be a better investigator than herself. "Drugs. It didn't sound like he knew what he was grabbing, but he fired first." Jeanne gestures back at that fire-filled drug room from moments earlier. "I fired second."

Does that count as a pun? Sure. Jeanne doesn't bother to stop Spider-Man, Staren, nor Axel as they bring Marko back down, instead opting to take the opportunity to make her exit. Green's objective was completed, anyway, but he doesn't have to know about that remaining vial.
