Cordelay Levail "My name is Cordelay Levail. If anyone wishes to test their skills, meet me in the Shrine of Adversity." After sending out this message, Cordelay waits at the entrance to the Shrine for any potential challengers to arrive, leaning against a wall and wondering to herself who would take up her invitation.
Touta Konoe     A young man can be seen making his way towards Cordelay.Looking no older than his early teens, dressed in nearly full black attire. Black jacket, black pants, spikey black-hair, even the sword which he carries around without a sheath is completely black. The only bit of color to his wardrobe is the red t-shirt he has underneath and a rose insignia embroidered on the jacket. Yet even with all that pitch-black attire and an unsheathed blade his demeanor seems nothing but upbeat and easy-going. It even seems like he's pretty buddy-buddy with some of the vendors in the shrine offerring them greetings as he walks by. They respond back with his name, 'Touta'. It was clear that he must come here more often than not.

It takes a minute or two but after chatting up a few of the stalls he starts heading in Cordelay's direction before ultimately directing his attention to the stranger.

"Hey, are you Cordelay? Name's Touta, sorry I didn't respond sooner on the comms but I was in the area and figured I'd see if I could catch ya before anyone else got to ya.
Cordelay Levail      Cordelay smiles back at Touta and nods. "Yes, I am Cordelay Levail. It's a pleasure to meet you, Master Touta." She takes in his appearance for a moment before adding, "I already have an arena set up for us. Let's go." She turns and leads Touta off toward the arena she had prepared, her posture speaking to her excitement for the battle.
Touta Konoe      "Heh, just Touta's fine." He says as she refers to him as 'Master'. Boy, that was a fancy way to refer to someone. Clearly it seemed that this was someone of a royal standing. Or she gave off that impression at least. Either way though Touta casually follows along with her, keeping one hand in his pocket while the other rests his blade on his shoulder.

"Hmmm, hey Cordelay, I don't think I've seen you around here before? You come to the Shrine alot?"

As he asks he already looks to be getting ready in the actual arena area, going to the designated starting point for combatants yet still pretty relaxed in his tone and posturing.
Cordelay Levail "I have been here several times, yes. I find it to be an excellent place for sharpening my skills." Cordelay adjusts the arena controls, the scenery morphing into an open forest glade as white petals drift through the air. Afterward she takes her position and unsheathes her twin short swords, slipping into her ready stance.

As soon as she does so, however, she grabs the chain on one of her blades and swings the weapon like a flail at Touta, her smile having morphed into the grin of someone at home on the battlefield.
Touta Konoe      "Huh, guess I don't come here as much as I thought. But that's fine, just mean there's a lot more people to work with. Still, you're definitely not wrong about sharpening your skills though."

From there the scenery makes quite a bit of a change. He's been here a few times already but most people go for the common battle area. Not that he can't about the nice view. Though he should definitely be paying more attention to Cordelay!

Her blades unsheathe as she goes into her stance, but instead of going in for a close-range strike as expected of a sword user she flings one of them at him! Touta presses his katana forward off from against his shoulder to intercept the strike. while he absorbs most of the blow, the blade ends up tearing slightly into jacket's sleeve, changing the black to red quite quickly.

That said, it seems that Touta's the one with a smile now. "Not bad, my turn now though!"

Without another word Touta announces his assault. Though the moment he presses off the ground, his body blurs. Moving quick enough that if you blinked you might miss him, the young man closes the distances between himself and Cordelay just as quick as she had done by throwing her blades.

Though the moment he's in swinging distance of Cordelay, his figure returns to normal. The blade is raised above his head in preparation for a downward strike towards the top of her head. But just as it looks like he's about to swing down on her, Corde receives a quick to the stomach instead! It was a feint to have her raise her guard!
Cordelay Levail Touta's quick movement surprises Cordelay for a moment, but her battle instincts kick in once more as he comes back into focus. The heavy blow coming from above seems... wrong to her somehow, and warning bells go off in her head fast enough for her to throw herself backward and out of range of the blow to her stomach.

"A clever maneuver, Touta! You obviously have talent for this!" She rolls back to her feet, her eyes shining with passion for the battle, and begins to cautiously close the distance between them. In the midst of doing so, however, she yanks on the chain of her thrown sword, swinging the blade back toward Touta's legs from behind.
Touta Konoe      Touta's attack misses its mark. Guess going in so quickly with a feint without any set-up was a no go. He smiles at her compliment telling that she was rather impressed with the trick, but she had seen nothing yet. Or had she?

"You've got plenty of skill yourself catching that bluff. Guess, I really gotta try stepping it up!"

One look at the boy and something odd might arise as she prepares her next attack. The red on his sleeve was gone. It wasn't that there was no more blood, not that he had wiped it off, no scratch...The scratch was just gone. Infact, even the jacket sleeve she slashed at appeared to be fine. Did she just imagine she got him before?

Well this time gets a hit in. It's rather light, but her blade definitely makes it's way slashing against his thigh and even staggers the young man for a moment. But just as quickly as she attacks him, she can see he's just as quick to pick himself up. As she jumps back, he jumps forward making it an incentive to keep the current distance the two have considering he doesn't have too many long ranged options of his own. This time there's no bluff to his attack, he swings his blade and shouts a strange sort of battle-cry.

     "Two-thousand Fold!"

As the blade would make contact, Cordelay would realize something strange...Touta's attack was heavy. Way heavier than someone of his stature should have been able to conjure the strength for. It felt less like he was swinging a sword and more like he was swinging some sort of industrial truck that was in the shape of a sword!
Cordelay Levail The sight - or rather lack of it- of Touta's injury shocks Cordelay. How could anyone heal that fast without obvious use of Arcana? It's more than a little unnerving to face someone who simply restored themselves effortlessly.

This unexpected twist to the battle is enough to distract her long enough for Touta to close in, his odd battle cry causing the warrioress to tense in preparation to move. Cordelay attempts to sidestep the attack, but her confusion at the boy's miraculous regeneration slows her reflexes enough for the blow to land - and it's a crushing one. Cordelay staggers back as the blade slams into her arm with incredible force, her hands tightening reflexively around her swords.

"Your power is incredible." She gasps as she tries to regain her breath. "Your wounds heal at an unnatural pace and your strength seems too much for your body... But I'm not done yet!" Abandoning the chain-swinging tactic for the moment, Cordelay charges forward with the speed of a warhorse at full gallop, her swords thrusting out in tandem with one aiming for his neck and the other for his heart.
Touta Konoe      Touta's strike packs quite the whallop apparrently. That was apparent after how far she ends up staggering back. As she would make regards to his power and healing he can't help but scratch the back of his head for a moment.

"Yeah, it comes in handy. Especially in the Shrine. The Concord makes you pay a pretty penny to patch you up afterwards."

But with that statement said it looks like Cordelay has no delay on continuing the fight. She's the one pressing the charge against him now with two strikes at once. Touta moves to address the first blade coming up in at his neck raising his blade vertically to catch her own. Unfortunately that leaves his chest exposed as she lunges her other blade into his chest. In a bit of a panic, Touta tries to shift his torso out of the way, but the blade finds its mark into his chest easing in like a knife into butter.

There's a moment of silence as Touta coughs up blood onto the floor. Whatever she had just done looked like it was pretty significant as their's no remarks for a good few seconds and his body almost appears hunched over. Did that regeneration stop or something? Maybe it wasn't as strong as she thought it was?

Well, apparently he's okay enough try slamming his fist into her jaw now that she was in such close proximity. The boy recovers from his hunched position with the same kind of care-free demeanor as before as he looks at his chest.

"Yeah, that one almost got me in the heart..." It was clear that even though he had been able to completely dodge her lunging blade he had been able to at least avoid getting his heart torn into. Still, he probably still doesn't look too pretty with a sword in his chest...
Cordelay Levail Cordelay yanks her blade out of Touta's chest as her head snaps back from the force of his punch, crimson droplets flying from her lips. Her eyes narrow as she glares down at her opponent, seemingly undaunted despite her injuries, and she responds by shoving forward against Touta in an attempt to knock him off-balance.

Hoping that her sudden push will create an opening, she launches into a lightning-quick flurry of stabs, attempting to overwhelm his incredible durability through her sheer number of attacks.
Touta Konoe      Cordelay's follow up proves fruitful in catching Touta off-balance. He's keeping up as best as he can but it appears the onslaught of multiple slashs from multiple blades is a bit much. It's the literal death by 1000-cuts going on right now as she gets serious. Still it's not like Touta's gonna sit around when he's being bombarded in such a way. After several slashes, Touta instead of trying to manuver and dodge strike after strike he instead decides to contest her attack with his own. As her next strike makes contact tearing into him, Touta simulatenously swings his blade with tremendous force to make return the force of all of her attacks at her in a single strike.
Cordelay Levail Cordelay can see the blow coming, but it's still too fast for her to avoid entirely. She manages to throw up her uninjured arm and catch the slash on her leather vambrace, gritting her teeth as the blade still manages to cut into her arm through the guard. "I've never fought someone quite like you, Touta. Your skill is quite impressive... But don't think you've seen everything I can do yet!"

Grinning savagely, Cordelay attempts to loop the chain on the end of one sword around Touta's neck, dragging him in close as her eyes shine with excitement and she thrusts her other blade forward in another strike at his heart - this one concentrating solely on skewering him.
Touta Konoe      A smirk comes across his face as he's once again given such high praise. Though the fire in this girl's eyes reminds him of another trigger-happy, punch-happy, hot-blonde who attended the Shrine way too often. But even with as the two trade blow for blow, she still finds it in herself to prepare one last strike. Chains dance and before Touta has the chance to figure out what's going on they're ensnaring him, strangling him, pulling him forward as if he was some sort of dog on a leash. The boy can see the blade flash before his eyes as once again he's impaled. It's a brutal blow and once again he coughs up blood more violently than before. It was apparent especially now that while he was able to heal his wounds, they still definitely painful to endure.

"Yeah...That's a hell of a blow. I seriously thought I was gonna die for a second." His eyes look up to Cordelay who's been so eager this entire fight. "I guess I really gotta do what I can to not disappoint..."

Suddenly, the ground below Touta begins to crumble. It's slow at first, but actively more cracks begin to form. The chains that she had placed around his neck begin to feel difficult to maintain. as if she had been trying to tug on something that was just too damn heavy. It was the same sensation as that last powerful attack, it was coming again, but this time it'd be stronger.

Touta raises his sword once again and shouts with a grin on his face.

     "500,000 FOLD! 500-TON BLADE!!!"

In the next moment Touta's blade would swing down with earthshattering force.
Cordelay Levail For a moment, Cordelay thinks she's finished the fight. Surely no one could keep on fighting after being impaled like that? But then the ground begins to crumble and the chain begins to strain as if Touta's weight had just magnified tremendously. "Wh-Wha--?" Nothing on any battlefield she's fought on compares to this one boy as he winds up for another attack, obviously even stronger than the last, and Cordelay realizes how much trouble she's in.

The chain is still wrapped around Touta's neck and the pressure he's exerting on it means she can't untangle it in time. She barely manages to overcome her instinct to not let go of her weapon, but just as she releases it Touta's blow lands and Cordelay goes flying backward, smashing into one of the trees at the edge of the arena.

The end-of-battle buzzar goes off and the arena shifts back into its natural state, taking the wounds from the battle with it and leaving only soreness and fatigue behind. "You... You are truly incredible. Not even the most legendary warriors of my homeland can exert such power. I am glad to have faced you."
Touta Konoe      Touta's strike hits hard indeed. Sending Cordelay packing into the distance. Though when the arena returns to normal Touta's running in Cordelay's direction. The hole in his chest from her attack already appearing to heal and even the cloth of his clothing unnaturally restoring itself. He tries to help Cordelay remove herself from the edge of the arena if the tree was just a simulated edge, but regardless he plans to help her get to her feet.

"Yeah, same here. You were crazy light on your feet from beginning to end. Even on the last hit it felt like I only just grazed you still. You've got the stuff, Cordelay! But uh...You sure you're alright? Need me to call someone to pick you up or anything?"
Cordelay Levail Cordelay smiles and pushes herself to her feet, spirits still obviously high. "I'm fine. This may be more than what I'm used to, but I am still a warrior and the daughter of the Dragon. I can handle this fatigue well enough." She catches her breath and clasps her fist to her chest in a warrior's salute.

"Mast- Er, Touta. I am honored to have had the chance to face you. Thank you for this opportunity." Her smile is bright and she's practically glowing with happiness from having such an intense spar.
Touta Konoe Smiles himself seeing she's so composed after that entire spar. Though the fact she was going for some kill shots makes kinda hard to say it was 'just' a spar. But why spoil her fun? Not like anyone's actually had a casualty in the Shrine...Or one that's sticked.

"No sweat. Let me know if you ever wanna go again. I'm always down for a rematch. But uh..." He looks at one of the clocks posted in the area. "Yeah, sorry I can't stay much longer! I gotta get back home before my boss rips my head off! I'll catch ya later Cordelay! Nice meetin' ya!" And without much more of a word he starts bolting towards the exit. Nice kid...Strange, but nice.
