Mortimer Balman      Spring is almost here. On Fenris, that means a brief period of warmth and relief from the cruelty of the ice. And having to deal with megafauna and other horrors from the deeps. But that's neither here nor there, not for Jarl Karian Icefang. Fate has far more interesting things in store for him to deal with..

The wolves- of all subtypes, from lesser Blackmanges to the full grown Thunderwolves- have been on edge about the Fang for hours. Something is amiss.. A presence is here that feels familiar but unmistakably alien. Something is here that should not be.

But is it watching, or is it hunting..?
Karian Icefang     Karian saw how the wolves were reacting to something lurking among the halls of the Fang. It was enough to tell his Wolfguard to remain alert, and not take any little things for granted. Near Karian was his Ice bear, Freyja, likely also picking up on the unseen entitiy. Taking a long shot, he took a seat in one of the chairs in the feasting hall and spoke aloud. "Whatever you are, creature, reveal yourself. We don't like surprises."
Mortimer Balman      It's not just one presence. It's several. Eldar suddenly begin becoming visible. Ranking Eldar, no less. There are several Seers and Rangers who are there to provide safe passage for a Farseer. Karian may recognize her- if not by her dress, then by her face. It is the Eldar that Mortimer had brokered a brief peace with, to rescue Karian from a Chaos World's bloody arenas.

"You will have to forgive us for our caution, Jarl Icefang. I do not believe we would have been well received had we simply arrived at the front gates, as a house guest." One of the Rangers moves to lock the doors to the feasting hall.

The Eldar are not too numerous but they are, obviously, heavily armed with their fancy space elf power weapons and shuriken guns and all that sort of thing. "We bring.. Tidings. I cannot say if they are good or ill, but they concern you. And your alien friend from beyond our galaxy."
Karian Icefang     Freyja tilts her head, and bares her fangs towards the Eldar, but a hand from Karian calms the mighty beast. "El'Dranil. I never did send you my thanks for aiding the rescue operation. I apologize for that, and send my sympathies for your lost warlocks." As he hears of the tidings, he arc's his eyebrow. "Oh? Do tell." He says, motioning for the Farseer to have a seat.
Mortimer Balman      The Farseer calmly takes a seat and places her helmet upon the table, while her honor guard continue to stay on absolute alert. The Seers and Rangers- for now- say nothing, simply keeping themselves to maintaining their Farseer's security. "We have found something.. Unusual. ...Foreign, even. Tell me, do you recognize this symbol..?" She pulls out a small dataslab and taps it a few times. A picture appears on it. A grand standard of a highly stylized phoenix made of fire.

The same standard that Mortimer sometimes carries into battle.
Karian Icefang     Karian examine's the symbol and nods. "Aye, I do. The Salamander carries it into battle sometimes. He calls it 'Moltres', a phoenix of some kind." He says, leaning back a bit. The Wolf Lord hmm's softly, thinking for a moment. "Where did you find it? I may contact him and launch and expidition."
Mortimer Balman      The Farseer begins tapping on the slab some more. It shows a region of space near the galactic south, in the deepest parts of the Segmentum Tempestus. "We discovered an alien ship in this region, I believe you know this to be the "Loki" sector." She changes the picture to reveal a space station of some sort. It looks nothing like anything made by any races that currently exist in the Imperium of Man. "Forgive us that the scale is difficult to determine- it is larger than any space station, Craftworld, or other ship that plies the stars at this point in time. Our engineers estimate that it is built to house a population in excess of two hundred million people."

A video begins to play. Eldar strike craft and corsairs are approaching the vessel. It is unimaginably colossal compared to them. "There were originally thirty three ships in this fleet. Seventeen returned to our Craftworld, begging us for respite." The ship emits a massive beam of energy that flat out vaporizes several Eldar craft in the time it takes to blink.
Karian Icefang     "Morkai's Black Teeth..." Karian whispers at the energy blast from the structure. He nods softly towards the Farseer. "You made a good call coming to me. If anyone would know about what this is, or how to handle it, it'll be the salamander. Did you pick up any transmissions from it? Maybe they saw your ships as threats or an automated response?"
Mortimer Balman      The Farseer then adjusts the video, to zoom in on the great banner of Moltres alongside the ship. "We attempted several times to initiate contact from a safe distance. But we received no responses. There are several dozen sites around the ship-" The video pans a bit, "where you can see clusters of lights that are blinking in a repeating pattern, but we do not know their meaning. One of our younger Seers attempted to initiate psychic contact.. ...And said he felt the presence of the Great Enemy upon the ship."
Karian Icefang     Karian nods as he hears that. "I see..." He says simply. He was already working on typing out a message to be sent to the Salamander labelled urgent with all the details. "We'll make the next attempt with the ship. Based on what I'm seeing, and based on the level of defence, I'd wager a guess it's an important structure. Possibly something similar to your Craftworlds."
Mortimer Balman      "Be careful, Jarl. If the ship holds as many people as we suspect, if our suspicions that it is not unlike our Craftworlds are correct, and it is overrun by daemons.. ...As swiftly as it decimated one of our fleets, I suspect it could just as readily annihilate one of yours. Even one of the vaunted Exterminatus fleets may stand little chance against it." The Farseer stands. "We do not have the manpower or materiel needed to properly quarantine the space around it. You will have to do that yourselves. And.. Should you manage to get aboard, you will need a proper army to secure it- more than a simple Chapter of your warriors. I hope for your sake, you have friends in your bureaucracy and Concord that can provide you the bodies needed. Fare well, Sky Warrior."
Karian Icefang     "I'll likely be calling in a few favors. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Fare well, Farseer." Karian says, sending the message over. He was quiet for a moment, before radioing for his wolfguard to start reaching out to Atrox, the Inquisitor he worked with in the past. They were going to need some heavy duty allies.
Mortimer Balman      The Eldar vanish into the aether, as swiftly as they appeared. The dataslab was left on the table for the Wolf Lord to analyze at his leisure. The ball is in Karian's court, now.
