Sarracenia      In the same vein as the fights held by Yang, the princess of the Sundew Kingdom puts out a random call for a challenger. She is naturally in her battle dress for this. She seems quite proud of it, after all. But, she is also still a bit angry from the Immune exam where she basically received the lowest rank possible -and- got told by some smug mystical stone that she had no power or discipline.

What better way to prove it wrong than fighting someone! So, here the princess waits, swinging her hammer around in a few practice swings that show off both her power and her grace while she waits for her challenger.
Alexis It could be because she was there to see how Sarracenia reacted, or just because she felt like picking up a new challenge. Probably a bit of both, since being as competative as she is Alexis can imagine how the Princess felt.

One way or the other the Trainer strolls in, wearing her protective overcoat as she's still getting use to it being her 'serious business in the field'... uniform for lack of a better word. "So, I heard someone was looking for a bit of rumble."
Sarracenia      Sarra's hammer twirling comes to a stop with a firm thud of the haft against the floor of the shrine when she hears Alexis speak up. She turns to face the trainer, then smirks lightly and nods. "I am, yes." she says, then makes her way toward Alexis. "You are...Alexis, right?" she says, then holds out a hand. "Princess Sarracenia Sundew, Crown Princess of the Sundew Kingdom. I believe we have met at least a couple of times, but I am not sure we have ever been formally introduced. If I recall you use some kind of summoned creatures to do battle for you?"
Alexis "Yeah. The last couple of times got a bit... hectic," Alexis replies as she grabs the offered hand firmly and shakes it. Not often royalty want to shake hands. "But hey, a little friendly sparring is a good way to get to know people." She lets go, and takes several steps back to the opposite end of the arena. "Plus it's a good way to work with some pokemon before taking them out into the field and unknown circumstances."

With that in mind she grabs one of the pokeballs from her belt and flicks it out. "Take the field, Nightmarch!" The flash of energy reveals a bipedal lizard-like creature with dark smoothly scaled skin, and hardened bones over it's head like a helmet. It's also holding a long femur shaped bone, that it spins in one hand, then holds it up for the ends to smack against the brow of it's skull several times. A few sparks fly and then one end ignites in ghostly green flames, as does the other end as it also strikes. No wonder the top of the skull-helmet is marked in streaks of ash and grit. He stops spinning it at that and holds the bone out towards Sarracenia. "Maro-wak!"
Sarracenia      Sarra's grip is firm and confident, but she shakes only lightly before releasing Alexis's hand. "Yes, exactly!" she says with a grin at that comment about sparring. She leaps back rather than stepping as the Marowak appears and watches with some surprise and interest as it smacks itself in the head to strike sparks for its bone. "What an unusual creature. Is that a skull and a femur?" she asks, obviously somewhat unnerved by the use of actual bones as clothing and weapons.

After its display Sarracenia smirks. She twirls her huge hammer about herself as she slowly spins in place, once again showing just how skilled she is with its use as she spins it more like a baton than a massive long-handled weapon. Much like the Marowak it ends with her thrusting the hammer out toward Marowak, holding it by the tip of the handle with seemingly no effort. "Here I come!" she declares, then pulls her hammer back and pulls herself forward in the process, boosting her into a sprint in the blink of an eye. She closes in quickly and comes in spinning once more, much like a top. This is apparently to make it harder to avoid her hammer, which moves with blinding speed during her pirouetting.
Alexis "A femur -on fire-," Alexis quips, smirking a bit. Not that it looks like ordinary fire. But then again Pokemon in general are weird, so. "Go get her Nightmarch! Just because this is training doesn't mean you shouldn't do your best." The saurian nods at the encouragement, and turns back to the Princess just to find her already spinning towards him with her own weapon. He grunts, digs in his feet and holds his burning bone in both hands in front of himself defensively. The hammer pounds against it repeatedly, and with enough force that even with bracing himself it makes the beast skid backwards from the blows and leering a bit before regaining his footing. "Mar." A shake of his head, and then he regrips his own weapon, the eyes beneath the skull-helm now glowing a bit. Supernaturally even.

"Alright then," Alexis clicks open her Pokedex to double-check as this is still a newer pokemon to her as well. "Give her as good as you took, and use Bone Rush." "Marooo!" Leaping at Sarracenia, the long bone is swung back and forth, using both ends like a cudgle stick to try and batter her repeatedly. Despite a possible vage resemblence to a Dry Bones that furiously flailing femur is pretty thick and sturdy to hit with.
Sarracenia      The counter-attack proves one thing. That Sarracenia...knows basically nothing about actually defending herself. Hit after hit from that fiery bone lands, knocking the princess around with ease. Finally near the end of the barrage she starts trying to use the haft of her hammer at least block something, but she has burn marks all over and a few bruises. And she does notice a slight familiarity to a certain undead turtle.

She stumbles back at the end of the Marowak's attack, wincing from all the hits. "Nnng...quite strong for such a small creature." she says quietly. She hops back, and as she goes a trail of small black orbs with big cute eyes and big yellow cartoonish boots are left on the ground. They all look up at Marowak...then start furiously dashing toward it! Each time one gets close it disappears in a small but powerful explosion, and they are quite relentless! "How do you like my cute little Bob-ombs? Hahaha!"
Alexis     Alexis finally keys up the proper Pokedex entry and the digitalized voice of the device dictates, "Marowak, the Bone Keeper pokemon. The Alolan form of Marowak is a Fire and Ghost type pokemon. The bone Marowak holds is precious to it and its greatest weapon. It harnesses supernatural energy to use the bone as a torch to unleash its attacks. Despite it's limited stature its defensive and offensive strength is impressive." She looks up in time to see Sarracenia back off from the assault and release a bunch of bombs with legs. "... And people say Pokemon are odd."

The Bob-Ombs march in and explode one by one, leaving the blasts in their wake... except for the last one, that a black paw reachs out of the smoke to grab. It's lifted up over his head as the Marowak steps out into the open, even more covered in smoke and soot than it was from being a Fire type, though it's dark coloring makes it hard to tell just how hurt it was by the assault. "What are you doi..." Alexis trails off as Marowak uses Fling to throw the explosive back at Sarracenia. ".. Oh."
Sarracenia      Sarracenia blinks as one of her Bob-ombs is caught, its little boot feet still kicking, and her eyes widen before...KA-BOMB! One can almost see the word appear in the explosion. The Marowak's aim is perfectly on point, and the princess goes flying back from the blast. She impacts a wall behind her with a yelp, then slowly falls forward. "Nnng..." She gets back up slowly and rubs the back of her head. "How dare you throw one of my own cute little Bob-ombs at me!" she says, perhaps even pouting a bit. "...almost as bad as when Bowser hit me with my own hammer..." she grumbles. She stays at range for now and pulls out what seems to be a portable cannon that she herself might be able to fit inside of. She pushes a button on the side and a bullet slides into view. A bullet as big as a person with a shark face on it. And it doesn't seem to be painted. "Go, Bullet Bill!" she calls out, and the cannon lets out a reverberating blast that sends the Bullet Bill flying at...well, it really isn't that impressive of a speed. Probably a sprinting speed for most humans.

But, it does relentlessly follow the Marowak around just like the Bob-ombs did!
Alexis Both Alexis and Nightmarch's eyes widen a bit at seeing a -cannon- pulled out. Yes, at the cannon itself. That it was pulled out of personal space isn't nearly as weird, you should see some of the things Trainers manage to stash in their bags. "Uh... now might be a good time to tactically back off." Alexis noticed the Princess getting a bit huffy about her own thing used against her, but there really isn't a chance to capitalize on it at the moment.

"Waaa." The fiery lizard does just that, turning and scampering away from the cannon as it fires. Then turns and runs to the side... Only for the Bullet Bill to turn and follow. "Not working. Duck!" Marowak skids and hunches down as he stops and the projectile sores overhead... Only to turn up and around and come right back again! It wasn't super fast but it was -persistant-. "Damn homing projecti--creatu--" Alexis faulters as the Marowak continues to run back and forth, but zigzagging isn't helping either. "What IS that thing?.. Okay, fine, Nightmarch, if you can't outrun it, intercept it!" A bit of dust is kicked up as the Alola Marowak skids to a stop again, winding back and then swinging his blazing boneclub to smack the Bullet Bill just as it's about to hit him. It still explodes on the impact and sends him tumbling backwards, but it wasn't a direct hit that time thanks to the longer reach of the bone.

"Marroooo." A big of grumbling as he gets up and shakes himself off, then grips both paws around his weapon. "Wak. Marowak!" "Yeah, you're right. Time to step it up." Alexis clenches one hand as she holds her hand up, resuming her smirking confidence. "Show her your trademark move, Nightmarch. Shadow Bone!"

The blazing bone-club is brought to bear as the lizard bolts into action, sprinting towards Sarracenia and then lunging. The entire bone ignites in that eerie green and black glow as he swings with a defiant shout of "MAROOOWAK!" and tries to pummel her with it. Despite looking like fire that energy doesn't burn like fire, it's more like that creeping goosepimply feeling as the supernatural energies try to gnaw down the target's defenses.
Sarracenia      Sarra giggles and laughs with child-like enjoyment as the giant bullet follows Marowak around. Each time he evades it only for it to turn around sparks a new bit of laughter. "Yes yes! Get him!" she calls out to the bullet, and when it finally explodes against that bone she laughs even more!

Once the Bullet Bill is destroyed Sarracenia rushes forward again. She couldn't have had worse timing. That Shadow Bone attack catches her right in the side and she cries out as she is sent rolling to the side, bouncing a couple of times. She really should practice some blocking and recovery maneuvers...

The princess staggers back to her feet, teeth clenched in both pain and frustration. "I cannot even beat a pint-sized creature?!" she practically growls. "Unacceptable!" She reaches into her satchel like she is going to get another weapon, and pulls out...a small green mushroom with cute eyes much like the bob-ombs. She gives it a squeeze and it disappears in a puff of smoke...and many of her scrapes and bruises disappear. "This is not even one of your relied-upon creatures, is it!" she shouts as she digs in her purse once more...and pulls out some kind of black metal box. She runs back over to her cannon and slots the box into place, and both unfold into an even bigger cannon! One she could not only fit inside of, but actually stand inside of! It is a bit unusual looking for a cannon, since it is basically a gigantic box with a circular hole in it.

But once again, a bullet slides into place. One of appropriate gargantuan size for this new cannon. "Let's see just how well you do against a Bonzai Bill!!" she practically screams, obviously frustrated. And not just over today's fight. Marowak is just a convenient scapegoat. "Take this!!"

She hits the button, and the sound of the cannon firing actually shakes the area lightly, launching a bullet as big at least as big as a car! And much like the last, this shark-faced projectile follows Marowak relentlessly. When it does eventually close in...the explosion is probably on par with an actual Explosion attack! A shockwave that leaves a visible bubble in the air followed by a massive expanding fireball!
Alexis "It's called strategizing, Princess. Gotta be good at doing it on the fly" But it's no use trying to explain, Sarracenia has already gone into a tantrum that, honestly, could probably scare a Primape. Yes, the monkeys that are CONSTANTLY ANGRY AT EVERYTHING would probably be off-put by that. Hell, Alexis has a temper of her own, has stared down monsters many times her size, and even she actually backs up a moment. "Uh boy. Would this be a bad time to point out that letting anger get the better of you in middle of a fight isn't very saf--

The even -bigger- cannon is deployed into the arena. "--Yep. Definately bad time."

The Marowak, not use to seeing this sort of response to anything, especially from a human, is outright shook by it. "Waaaa!" When you can scare something that's supernaturally haunting in its own right, girl, you've got one hell of an effect.

Unfortunately his response is to seek solace from his Trainer, running over and jumping into her arms as the cannon fires. Which means that behemoth of a bullet bill is going to Bonzai right towards them! "Oh sunnovabi--"

Cue the biggest visual KABOOM possible and I don't care how resistant your type may be to fire or explosions that's one hell of a blast that it results in. Enough that Alexis ends up a few meters back, on her back and covered in smoldering ash. "Uuugh. Good thing I wore the heavy jacket." She just puts one hand on her head. "Nightmarch?"
"Aaaaak," comes a groan from somewhere to her side. She doesn't bother looking, she can hear the clunk of bone on the floor as he uses it to pick himself back up off the ground. If not shaky about it. "All or nothing time, huh?" "Maro." Okay then. Alexis sits up. "At least make the finale something to see, use--" she holds up her other hand, only to find her Pokedex not in it. "Shit! Must of dropped it in the explosion!" The thing is strong enough to take it, being built of the same seeming indestructable materials as certain gaming consoles, but it must of been knocked out of her grasp... It's lying on the floor even farther back. "There it is!" Alexis gets up and scrambles to retrieve it.

Well, she's busy. The lizar regards the angry princess, and decides to just take that last suggesting at face value. He does a few fancy twirls with his bone while stomping in a marching, almost dance-like manner. The flames swirl and spiral off the spinning bone, until his entire body is engulfed in the eerie glow. "MAAAAROWAAAAAAK!" Followed by a rather loud roar for a smaller sized creature, a screeching warcray as he bodily charges towards Sarracenia with all his remaining strength. Not to mention being on fire. The kind that actually burns like fire is suppose to burn this time.
Sarracenia      Sarracenia is always giddy after seeing a Banzai Bill do its work, and this is no exception! She is laughing a bit maniacally now and patting her oversized cannon. "You cannot simply shrug that one off, can you?" she says with a bit of a dark giggle.

Only to see that even after all of that...not only is the Marowak still standing, but it is now rushing toward her while on fire! Surely a tackle from such a small creature can't hurt that much, right? Sarra prepares to take the hit and use that to aid her counter-strike. Instead...when she is hit she feels like she just got hit by a high speed train. The hit is so severe that rather than flying back, Sarracenia is there one moment...and then simply isn't and there is a Sarracenia-shaped crater in the wall behind her, smoldering with fire. It is a pretty good thing this is the Shrine, because even when the Shrine resets Sarracenia still looks flattened. The wall disappears and she lands in a heap, completely out of it.
Alexis     It's not an entirely clean blow, as the Marowak falls back after the impact. Really the only reason he doesn't also pass out is because of his Rock Head ability, limited the usual recoil issue Flare Blitz has. That said, he looks like that last attack took a lot out of him, leaning on his bone to keep from falling over entirely. That's definately a 'hurt' posture.

"Geezus." Alexis picks up the pokedex, dusts it off, and tucks it away in its pocket. "This thing takes more of a beating than a Gameboy." She looks over her shoulder. "... Huh." Despite being a bit sore from getting part of that explosion she walks over to pick Sarracenia off the floor. "Com'n you. I wasn't expecting that final ditch to actually work."
Sarracenia      The princess is still limp when Alexis picks her up, but as she is carried she slowly comes around. "Nnng...w-wha...what...happened..?" she murmurs groggily. She looks around a moment, then blinks and looks up at Alexis. "Wh-what are you..?!" she stammers, blushing hotly as she realizes she is being carried. She mmphs and pouts a bit, folding her arms over her chest, but doesn't actually try to escape. You think a crazy princess is going to pass up a chance to be princess carried?

"...I...I might need help..." she finally says, almost too quietly to even hear.
Alexis "Easy, Princess. Just clearing the arena in case someone else comes in." At least it's just some scruffy pink-haired tomboy and not a big grumpy dragon turtle thing, right? Alexis snorts softly at the muttering about help. "More likely what you need is some tactics." She finds a bench to set Sarracenia down at, then turns for a moment to check on her Pokemon. "How about you, Nightmarch?" "Maro." He's plodding after her, still a little woozy. Just because the arena 'resets' doesn't mean all the stiff and soreness is immeadiately gone. Eventually he plops down to sit at her heels.

"Good boy." Alexis patted him on top of the skull as she turned to sit down next to the princess. "As I was saying. Tactics. How many things besides bombs and hammers and mad smiler missiles do you -have- in that handbag? But just cuz you've got a lot of firepower doesn't mean to just throw it willy nill at every target..."

Alexis pauses a moment.

"... Though I think that yelling would of scared even a Gyarados."
Sarracenia      Sarracenia looks down at the floor after she is set down on the bench, thinking about the battle and the week past. She seems to perk up somewhat at being asked what all she has in her satchel and actually smiles. "Oh! Let me show you!" she says, almost cheerfully. She pulls out one of...a lot of things. A bob-omb that just sits there and looks up at them, a fire flower that does the same, a red mushroom, a green mushroom, a small stuff animal that looks much like a raccoon, another that looks like a humanoid turtle in black, a frog plush, a red leaf...

Sarracenia starts to reach again but blinks. "Oh...well, I suppose you do not need to see every one of them, but there are just as many different kinds of explosives, my hammer, and of course the Bullet and Banzai Bill launchers." She scratches her head. "I feel like I might be forgetting a few, but..." She shrugs. "Those are the ones I use most often." She picks up the raccoon plush (which for some reason lacks an actual face and just has a black patch with the same big eyes as the bob-ombs and just about everything else), then...holds it out to Alexis. "Here! This is one of my favorites~"

If Alexis takes it...well, the tall pinkette tomboy will get engulfed in a small puff of smoke before finding...that she is now wearing a full bodysuit based on the plush. "Isn't it cute?" the princess practically beams.
Alexis The fact that the mushroom and flower have eyes for whatever reason would probably be mildly disturbing if it wasn't for the fact that there's mushroom and flower pokemon. That said, that bomb... let's hope it's not as tempermental as Voltorbs are. "Wow." Alexis leans over a little to look at the bag. "And I thought my bag could fit a lot of stuff."

Then Sarracenia holds the plush, which in comparison doesn't have a face, up to her. "It is kind of cute. So what does this stuff -do-, would be the next question." Though even as she's asking that she grabs the offered plush. Only to yip slightly at the poof.

The poof being now she's wearing the suit. Not only that, but apparently because of her hair now the entire Tanooki suit is a bright pink color. "Oh you have got to be kidding me!" Her Marowak rolls over on his back laughing, up until Alexis huffs and returns him to his pokeball to quiet him down.
Sarracenia      Sarracenia giggles happily and claps once when Alexis is suddenly in a pink Tanuki suit. "Pink! I wasn't expecting that!" she says cheerfully and with only a hint of deviousness. Yes, she knew what would happen. But, she doesn't seem like she wanted Alexis to be embarrassed, just that she is enjoying the surprise and the sudden cuteness. "And it looks cute on you!" She laughs as well when the Marowak falls over and is recalled. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to embarrass you. I just like to share my cute things!" she says with a smile.

She holds up her bag after that. "Yes, the royal satchel is a treasure. It links right to the castle armory and my personal wardrobe! So it isn't just combat items I can pull out, but new outfits and refreshments~" She reaches in again and pulls out a grapefruit soda. Apparently another favorite of hers? "Here you go~" Apparently a little cuteness and a bit of deviousness is enough to brighten the princess's mood. She leans in conspiritorily after that. "...if you want, I can give you one for your little creature as well. Perhaps the frog~"
Alexis     Alexis lets out a bit of an exasperated sigh and shakes her hooded head. "Not so much embarassed," she's -mostly- outgrown that phase, "as just... I dunno. Didn't expect something would copy my hair instead of what I was wearing?" She stands up and looks over her shoulder and gives the tail a wiggle. "Not the first time I've temporarily had a tail though... No, that's okay. Pokemon go through enough odd transformations as it is." She does accept the soda though, popping it open and taking a drink. "So it's more like a portable wormhole thing. Gotcha."

Then looks down at the admittably cute suit again. "So is this just for looks or does it actually do something. It kinda feels like it should do something."
Sarracenia      Sarracenia aws softly as the frog suit is turned down, but when asked about the Tanuki Suit (no, she doesn't use the pointlessly altered spelling) she smiles. "It actually gives one the ability to fly! You just sprint a short distance, spread your arms, and start wagging the tail and off into the sky you will go!" She even holds out her arms to demonstrate. "No arm flapping is required, though." she adds, then reaches to pull out another soda for herself and pops it open. "Wormhole? Hmm...I suppose? But without the big gravity well around it." she says before taking a sip of her drink.

"Oh. I guess it should be mentioned that...well, one good hit while in that suit and it will disappear. Try not to be in mid-flight if that happens." She smirks lightly. "Unless you have a giant hammer like me, then you can simply ride it down and cause a bit of chaos when you hit the ground~"
Alexis "Really?" Alexis glances back at the tail. "I'd say that's silly, but I've seen a fox fly by levitating a stick with fire like a witch's broom, so it's not really -that- silly. Okay, I've got to try this." She sets her soda down on the bench, cracks her neck as much as one can in the snug fitting hood, then sprints off and sticks her arms out as instructed. It takes a moment to get the grasp of that, running, and willing the tail to wiggle waggle at the same time. But as she does it certainly does get the tomboy off the ground. "Whoa! That's pretty neat."

Except when she decides to go back she tries to turn around like one of her Flying pokemon would, and that isn't quite how the suit apparently works. It's momentum wants to keep going forward and the switching direction makes her loose altitude, though it may just be her own infamiliarity with how the power-up works. The waggling tail somehow keeps it to being a slow fall instead of a sudden drop or crashing into a wall, at least. "So apparently easier to keep going in one direction." Alexis brushes herself off, and opts just to walk back for the sake of keeping up conversation. "How come you don't use these things more often? Besides the only one hit, thing. I guess that would be a little annoying."
Sarracenia      Sarracenia laughs delightedly as Alexis takes off and watches with interest as she flies off. She giggles a bit when Alexis loses altitude. "The trick is to maintain momentum. If you turn, you have to bank your way back around and keep up the tail movements. It is possible to fly for extended periods of time, but it takes practice and the one hit thing does make it impractical for most fights. I have used it on occassion, but only as a last resort."

She picks up the red and yellow flower. "Now, this one is actually quite useful for fighting." She holds it up and in a puff of smoke...her color scheme has changed! Although she was already wearing black and red, now the red is the dominant color and the black is the accent. She raises a hand and holds it palm outward, and with a rather distinct 'pweek' noise a fireball comes flying from her palm. It bounces across the pavement for quite a distance before hitting a trashcan, which bursts into flames.

Sarracenia blinks, then pulls out another flower. This one is icy blue, and as one might expect when she uses it her dress turns ice colored. She fires an ice bolt this time, putting out the fire before they can get in trouble. "Oops. Heehee." she giggles a bit sheepishly. "But even these have yet to really help in a battle. Which unfortunately can only mean...I do not know the proper ways to use all of the tools I possess. That stupid orb practically said that."
Alexis First the trash can starts on fire. Then it's put out by freezing. Alexis isn't use to seeing ice trump over fire and has to remind herself that elements don't always interact the same way when you're not talking about pokemon. So in the end she gives a bit of a whistle. "Even so, that could be useful."

Idly she swats the suit tail to one side so it doesn't get underneath her as she sits back down. "Pff. That contraption was just a bunch of abstract imagry. They can say whatever they want about what it means, what matters is what you decide to think of it. But just dwelling over what some glowing fishbowl said isn't going to help."

Alexis picks her soda back up and takes another sip from it before continuing, because she needs a moment to think. That assessment may not be wrong, but it's being presented in a way that Sarracenia is only taking as negative. Hmm. "Now see. You know what these things do." She motions at the other objects still sitting on the floor. Thank goodness that Bob-omb hasn't blown up for no reason. "And you know they have limitations. Specific controlling motions, can't take a hit, what have you." She holds up a finger in a 'let me finish' gesture with her free hand. "But a limitation doesn't mean its useless. It's not just knowing what they can or can't do." Alexis puts her hand on Sarracenia's shoulder lightly. "It's figuring out when to capitalize on it the most. That's how strategy works. Sure, you might only get one shot of a fireball or iceball or what have you. But that's one shot you couldn't make otherwise, and not expected. What can that one fireball do that, say, your walking bomb couldn't? Can that bounce clear an obstacle the bomb would have to walk around? Or better yet, what can they do -together-?" She's just trying to nudge the girl into thinking in the right direction.
Sarracenia      Sarracenia sits back down as she listens to Alexis. "Hmm...usually I throw the Bob-ombs, actually. Leaving them to move on their own this time was...well, I thought it might give me some space since that creature of yours seemed very skilled in close combat. I thought if I could keep him at range it might give me some sort of advantage."

Just as Alexis is thanking goodness that the Bob-omb hasn't blown up, it blinks. There is a sound somewhat like a marble rolling as it suddenly gets up and wanders off in no particular direction. She might notice a turn key in its back that is rotating as it walks. Sarracenia doesn't seem to notice, lost in thought now. "...I am not sure what a fireball could add that isn't covered by an explosion." she says quietly, tapping a finger against the side of her chin as she thinks.

The Bob-omb continues to wander, and Sarracenia huffs. "What am I to think of it? It was supposed to indicate both potential and depth of understanding. It indicated that I have little of either at this point in time, yet you and even little Note were able to produce quite the spectacle with it. All I really have when I think about it is my weapons. I don't have any power of my own, or a powerful little creature that will fight for me. Studying combat is simply not done by princesses of my world, and I do not recall having any difficulties accomplishing tasks or winning battles before. But, now I do not know if that was because I did well or if I have simply been lucky up until recently."
Alexis So close, and yet not quite. Though maybe now Alexis is starting to get a better grasp on just what the Princess' issue might be. "First off, just talking yourself down over it is going to do nothing but kick yourself farther down the hill. Secondly, it wasn't a bad idea. Hell, even I didn't know he'd pick one up and throw it back." Alexis pauses. "Though, seeing as throwing the bone around like a boomerang is kinda what Marowak's are known for..." She trails off on that thought, shrugs, and drinks the rest of the soda. "Anyways. Sure, the fireball might not be as big and vibrant and destructive as the explosion, but I would bet it's more precise in some degree. That way it moves would make it hard to judge how to avoid it..."

Now she's getting off track, and Sarracenia is starting to slide off again. "No no no, wait, wait." She waves her hands a few times, also failing to notice the explosive walk off as she's grappling with this issue. "That, right there." Waggles a finger. "That bit about 'of my world'." She makes a half sweeping, half chopping gesture in the opposite direction. "Forget that. Forget that was ever a thing. It's the Multiverse, you're not restricted by whatever your 'world' did anymore."

That thought actually gets her to slap a palm to her face and groan softly, which turns into a chuckle. "Man, if I had realized that sooner. You have no idea how hard it is to get 'type vs type' beat back out of your mentality... or maybe you do, considering."
Sarracenia      Sarracenia huffs softly as she is told to stop beating herself up, then hmms. "The fireball is quite dependable. It will continue bouncing along until it hits something at a roughly perpendicular angle to what it is bouncing on. The ice bolts are much the same. But, I'm afraid that would make both even easier to avoid.

Sarracenia frowns lightly at the assertion that her world is not restricting her. "Of course I am not. Nor have I ever been. I simply did not seem to need it before now, and even if I had I would not have been allowed to train properly. It is not lady-like, you see. If I were a prince then I would be expected to be skilled in combat and my parents would have insisted at a young age. But I have never really adhered merely to what a princess is supposed to be. That is the entire reason that my subjects are not so fond of me, while Peach and Daisy are fawned over simply for being demure little princesses."
Alexis "No offesne to your subjects, but if that's the case they're kinda dense. I'd certainly rather have the princess that isn't getting carried off every other weekend." Pause. "No offense to Peach either. She's nice enough a lady, but.." Alexis just haplessly shrugs a little. "Still, it's something to think about. Especially if you can find the ways people wouldn't expect them to be used." She gives the pink tanuki suit a light tug and smirks a little. "Or that other people could, if this is possible.... I almost hate to admit it, but this is kinda comfortable."

The empty soda can is chucked for a wastecan and Alexis gets up. "Times do change. Sometimes we need to change the way we do things. Even if it didn't seem necessary before doesn't mean a little training won't hurt now. But you know what it's going to be in the end Sarracenia? Not your subjects, not your parents, not what I've been trying say, and definately not what some magical glowing doodaddle is claiming."

She pauses as she turns and taps a finger lightly at the other girl's forehead. "You're going to be whatever you decide to tell yourself to be. If you want to muck over what everyone else is saying or find a way to prove them wrong, it's up to you."
Sarracenia      Sarracenia blushes a bit at that first part. "Well...I think it is also that I am not...erm..." She coughs into a hand. "...soft-spoken?" she says, trying to say it in a way that she isn't insulting herself. "But, my parents and my people are both stuck in the past, and my parents are always speaking of what sort of appearance I must maintain if we are to retain respectability with the other nations. Some things I do not mind, but others...I have no desire to merely be a princess in a castle who does nothing but admire flowers all day.

The princess listens again after that, giggling a bit at the comment about the Tanuki suit and getting quiet when Alexis points out that her future and what she should be is up to no one else but herself. The tapping to her forehead causes Sarracenia to blink in surprise, then she giggles a bit and smirks lightly. "What do you think this was? I wanted to prove that stupid orb wrong, and when I couldn't that is when I asked for your assistance."

The princess's smirk turns to a slight smile after that. "And...I am quite grateful. You have assisted me without expectation that I repay you. Of course, I am willing to compensate you for your time." She hesitates a moment and taps her index fingers together a bit nervously. "...but...I think...a friend might be more useful..?" she says, a bit of a hopeful tone to her voice.
Alexis "Keep trying and you'll figure it out eventually. Nothing easy was answered in one day." Alexis mmms, makes a face. "That's not how that goes. I think you get the point though. Maybe next time we'll worry less about fighting per say and I'll just throw some tricky situations at you to see how what you can come up with to handle them."

She makes a bit of a face at the compensation remark, but it turns out to be more of a awkward seque to what the princess really wants to ask. "Anytime, Sarracenia, anytime." She smirks, draping an arm over the princess's shoulders. "And that's definately better." Pause. "... Just as long as we don't have to start singing about it."
Sarracenia      Sarracenia seems genuinely surprised when Alexis actually seems to want to be her friend, and is obviously uncertain as to how to proceed when that arm is draped about her shoulders. "Sing?" she asks with a raised eyebrow. "Although I do enjoy singing, I am not sure I could simply start singing on a whim." She isn't a multicolored equine after all.

She smirks after a moment. "So...did I hear you say that the Tanuki suit is comfortable? I -did- commission a permanent one for another friend of mine if you are interested~ I keep one in my own wardrobe!"
Alexis Alexis laughs in response. "Yeah, I've only know very few folks that can actually do that... And Jigglypuffs. But we don't talk about those." She gives Sarracenia's shoulders a squeeze like a small hug before letting go. "What can I say, it's comfortable." Then leans closer to Sarracenia and lowers her voice to mock conspiratorial tone as she smirks. "Not to mention it'd totally show-up the Pokemaniacs and their Charmander pants."
Sarracenia      Sarracenia blinks. "Jigglypuff? What a peculiar name. Is the creature what the name implies it to be?" she asks before giggling mischieviously at the idea of a sort of costume competition. "I do know a very good tailor if you really did want to do such a thing." she says, then smiles and...actually hugs Alexis with both arms. She holds it for what might be a bit longer than is comfortable before letting go and holding her hands behind her back. "...Thank you, Alexis. You have both greatly helped my mood and provided me some direction." She curtseys, then starts collecting all the items she pulled out earlier. She is collecting for a few moments before she blinks. "...did I not set a Bob-omb down earlier?" she asks, then looks around.

An explosion in the distance soon follows, and Sarracenia flinches before looking in that direction. "...um...I think I should return to my castle now." she says, giggling a bit.
Alexis "They're definately jiggly and puffy, so yes, to a degree." Alexis reachs for her Pokedex but stops when Sarracenia notices the Bob-omb is missing. "Yeah, yeah you did. I hope something didn't run off with i--"

Cue the explosion in another part of the Shrine. Alexis flinches a little.

"Yep, definately a good time to go home."
