Zenos yae Galvus     The challenge was offered and accepted. The place was agreed upon. Once more, Zenos would face down someone from this Multiverse. Arriving, the man was delivered by a Magitek ship, landing and releasing the Heir apparent as the armored man slowly walks towards the shrine itself. His movements were methodic, not hurried in the least as he finally stops and turns. Waiting for his opponet to arrive. On his hip was a strange contraption, but in it laid the hilt of three blades...which made it obvious for what it was for. The armor more or less covered his entirely body, being in the dark Garlean steel. His helmet had a special mask of ivory over the face itself, with a strange pearl like gem in the forehead. Hair, blonde, runs down the sides of his head. A tabard with the Garlean symbol runs from his waist down, as he simply waits like a mountain.

"I sure do hope I am not disappointed," he muses to himself.
Shigure     A tall woman, dressed like a shrine maiden, walks up to the Shrine in an unhurried pace. Hands hidden inside the volumous sleeves of her outfit. The clog-like sandals she wears clack against the ground with each step, announcing her arrival without her having to speak a word.

One sets this woman apart from most other shrine maidens, is the array of gun turrets seemingly welded to her back and peeking over her shoulders. The 'Rigging' bristles with multiple small turrets in a large assembly that supports four truely massive turrets on four gimbal mountings. These are set in parade position, barrels pointed upwards and to the sides.

She bows her head formally in greeting as she comes to a stop in front of Zenos. "Sir Zenos yae Galvus, I presume?" she enquires, voice measured and demure but hiding that backing of steel as it always does.
Zenos yae Galvus     Slowly the mask of the Garlean comes to gaze over the shrine maiden. His head bows only slightly in greeting, understanding the way Doman's greet very well.

"Legatus, General, or Imperial Viceroy, actually. Am I to guess that you are the Battleship Yamashiro? Very well, then if we are both ready.." he says, and from his 'Sword Revolver' he draws a blade. The long bladed weapon, known as a Katana from his part of the mutliverse, swings out once, as Zenos simply does the motion to stretch. From it, a gust of wind whips out, anything in the direction (which is not aimed for Yamashiro) is carried away. The arm comes down, as he makes a rather simple battle stance, looking towards his opponet.

    "Well, shall we begin?"
Shigure     "My apologies, Legatus." replies Yamashiro, lifting her head and fixing that mask with her piercing red eyes. "I am ready if you are."

The battleship steps back a few paces as Zenos sets himself up, bringing her hands from her sleeves and letting her arms hang to her sides. "All hands to battle stations. Repeat, General Quarters. All hands man your stations." she announces imperiously, making her rigging spring into action. Turrets traverse, and loud clanks sound from within the metal constructs as shells are loaded.

When Zenos assumes his ready stance, Yamashiro throws one hand forward. "Main Battery. FIRE!" The air shudders as the great cannons over her shoulders belch forth plumes of flame, smoke and the shells themselves, showering Zenos with eight artillery shells that explode on impact. "Reload, Type 91 Armour Piercing. Secondaries fire at will!"
Zenos yae Galvus     When the shells rain, Zenos pushes forward through the attacks. Even as the ground shakes from the shelling, even as one heads for a direct course for him...he simply moves. As the shell rings out, he swings the blade once, aiming to cut through the shell. It explodes, showering him with shrapnel and explosive force, but the general is undetered, even if there were bits of jagged looking metal imbeded within his armor. There is a flash.

Zenos does not appear to be where he was, as he seems to clear the battlefield to come at Yamashiro from a different direction. "Not bad...then I shall take this a bit more serious," he comments, before the blade swings in a wide arch. From it, a large blade of light slashes out, covering a massive chunk of the battlefield. The aim was to strike the boat, aiming to drive her back and exchange blows to test how hard she can hit, and how well she can take it.
Shigure     Yamashiro sees her first volley do damage. She wasn't expecting it to take out the Legatus so easily.. but she also wasn't expecting the flash step, or the giant energy blade. She shifts awkwardly, stance widening as her turrets traverse and she dips a shoulder, taking the strike full on the turret caps. She skids aside from the force, and the blade digs a gouge into the armour plate, scorching what it doesn't cut through. "We're hit! Check the ammo store for fires!" she says, almost like a reflex as her feet dig into the ground. She bleeds off the momentum and stomps a couple of times to regain balance.

"Main Guns, take aim..." the turrets swivel into place. "Secondary guns, aim..." the smaller cannons swivel into place. "FIRE!"

Once more those giant cannons spew forth their volley, these shells seem designed to punch inside of a target before exploding, sporting a solid piercing head instead of the blunt cap of the previous shells. The smaller caliber guns lob explosive shells of their own, firing in a constant, overlapping stream of fire.
Zenos yae Galvus     Yamashiro, to her credit, was reading the situation well. Trying to break his armor isn't the wrong move, it would in theory limit his defensive options. Instead of pushing through her attack this time, he moved to a defensive stance. When the piercing shells tried to break through, he swings the blade carefully, blades cutting through shells with ease, deflecting smaller ones to hit the ground all around him. Explosions tore through the land, kicking earth and debries everywhere.

Once more, the General pushed through the dust, walking casually towards the Ship, even as something fell from the sky near them.

It was a image of a blade itself, as wind flavored Aether started to flow from it. This time, he swings, but the blade that lands releases a burst of wind as well, aiming to enhance his strike. Both attempting to strike at the same time.
Shigure     Yamashiro bunkers down as her attack is largely deflected, bringing her arms up as the strike is leveled at her. Wind buffets against her from all directions, the cutting wind slicing at her outfit and leaving deep score marks across her Rigging. One barrel of her main battery turrets even falls away, sliced clean off by one of those razor winds.

"Reload." she calls over the howling winds, then does something one may not expect from a fighter that seems more built for long range attacks. She leaps toward Zenos, firing her main battery, but AWAY from the Legatus, launching her quicker into close range.

Once there, she attemps to grapple the armoured Garlean and get within the swing of his blade.
Zenos yae Galvus     The shell hits, but not aimed at him...

"Oh..?" he says, with a the start of a smirk on his face. The ship flies through the air, aiming to try and get within reach of him, but the wind lasted just a moment longer. The bite of her attack was diminished just slightly, especially, when his free hand came to defend himself. His arm blocking her strike with his on guard. The blow still resonates through his armor. The armor still cracks from the blow, but it was not NEARLY as effective as it could have been...and the Garlean stares her in the eye.

"An interesting tactic...but was that despiration, or innovation?" He says, as another sword falls from the sky, but this time it starts generating an electric current.

His hand moves to grab her, aiming to swing her towards the direction of the blade itself, before it releases a massive wave of electric force in all directions from it. If successful, the energy would feel like it was making her actions feel heavier, draining them of her strength.

    "Now, let us see!"
Shigure     Yamashiro shifts stance as her strike meets solid plate. She moves to grasp that arm, but is too slow and is herself launched away. She lands with a crack, as a turret falls from its cradle. She skids to a stop and is engulfed in the wave of electrical energy, the arcs skittering across her as she grits her teeth. "RELOAD!" she barks, forcing her body to stand, and advance. She grabs the fallen turret by the barrels, and drags it along after her like a makeshift club. "I am the Super Dreadnaught Battleship Yamashiro. I have been subjected to countless retrofits and rebuilds. I've seen more time in drydock than I have at sea." she advances still, ejecting her rig as one of the turrets explodes from the inside, letting it fall heavily to the ground behind her. "Innovation is my blood."

She moves from a walk to a sprint, hopping into the air with a spin to bring her 'turret club' around with as much force as she can pile into it.
Zenos yae Galvus     The makeshift club comes down, as blade catches it. There is a array of sparks that errupt as the two weapons clash, even as the ground beneath them shakes from the shockwave of the clash. Zenos looks up towards her calmly, staring towards her as he starts pushing back, aiming to drop her to the ground infront of him. Even through the force of the blow tears through armor that was holding the sword, it still remains firmly in place. The weapon still swings easily enough, though he reguards it for a moment.

"Hm...I lost feeling there for a moment," he says, in an slightly amused tone.

"So it was desperation...how...disappointing." he says, with that, his own Aether starts to flare up. "That is fine, bring whatever power you need to face me...however, let us see if you can..."

"SURVIVE THIS!" he thrusts the sword into the ground itself. From all around him, energy bursts in all directions. It is more than a simple strike. If it was successful, it would completely drain the body of the strength to fight, as if his very fighting spirit was overwhelming and suppressing hers. The force of the blow was no less devistating...and after it ends, he holds the blade once more, ready to continue.
Shigure     Yamashiro lands after her strike, dropping the club and bringing her arms up in a martial stance, ready to continue the battle without her Rigging... but then that energy burst washes over her, tearing at her strength itself. She staggers, then falls to a knee, before being knocked away into a wall by the force of the attack. She stays there, eyes hidden by the fringe of her hair as the Shrine registers an inability to continue and triggers its reset function.

Still Yamashiro doesn't move, "... it seems I am truely Misfortunate, after all..." is all she says.
Zenos yae Galvus     The blade comes back, the battle had been decided in that blow.

The sword returns to the sheath.

"Misfortune. Did you not, before now, tote the might of what you are? Of your nation? Would you so casually dishonor your entire nation by calling it misfortune at your defeat? Or is it that absolving you of your failure make the bitter taste of defeat seem more managable?" He turns, shaking his head. "Pathetic. Pathetic and disgraceful. Instead of congratulating me on my accomplishment, marveling at my strength, or admitting you have much to learn...it's fortune's fault? And here, for a momemt, I had considered you having promise. A desire to bring you under the arm of Garlemald to temper that strength better. If this is the limit of your strength...of your will...then I have nothing more to do here." He says, and starts walking towards his ship, but still slowly.
Shigure     Yamashiro lifts her head, fixing eyes on the Garlean. "My entire life has been one misfortune after another." she replies measuredly, pulling herself to stand. "You are certainly strong, far stronger than I, of that there is no doubt." she frowns. "Do not take my words for absolution or deflection of my own inadequacies." She shakes her head. "You must understand something about Kanmusu... we are creatured tied to our pasts, as inexorably bound as two sheets of steel, welded together. You call me pathetic... I call you bigotted. Lord your superiority over me all you wish, but know that it does not decrease my worth in aught by your own eyes." she turns, and walks away then, keeping a measured pace.
