Nagato     It's late at Hikari but business as usual. Kuma just left the Admiral's office and, upon hearing a certain girl's voice, has summoned her and her family to the room. There was much for Nagato to discuss and tonight was the night to do it, especially after Amakasu's fervent acceptance at joining the next mission. "Mmm.. how am I going to break this to her family..." she mutters to herself, looking at Musashi next to her.

Musashi shakes her head, "People are more receptive to the truth, Nagato. Especially if the truth is the first thing said."
Hoshi Amakasu     Late night visits to the Hikari port, and especially Nagato's office, weren't particularly new events, but having her parents come along for the ride has made Hoshi Amakasu a little nervous, especially since she still hadn't told them that she was intending to rejoin the Multiverse at large yet. There was simply no telling how they might react to knowing their daughter was putting herself back into danger right after she'd been rescued from some unknown threat that she still refused to enlighten them on, but... These thoughts make Hoshi pace around in her dorm room while waiting the good thirty minutes for her parents to make the trip back here.

Yet come they did, and it's not much longer before the Amakasu family is standing in front of Nagato's door, and Hoshi herself gives a quick knock.

"Admiral? Can we come in?" Her parents don't know what to make of this, and have asked what's going on, but Hoshi couldn't answer. Now they could all be enlightened together.
Nagato     The knock on the door is punctuated with a look from Musashi, "Enter." comes the Second in Command's voice. "The Admiral will see you now." Musashi looks down towards Nagato, giving a nod, "She'll be okay, her parents will be okay. They'll be glad that you saved her, y'know." Nagato gives a slight nod and looks towards the door, foot tapping, as if the act of the door opening took an eternity.

"Come, sit down. There is much to discuss." comes Nagato's stoic voice, ever unchanging from her position. At least, if you knew the other side of her... "Mr. and Ms. Amakasu. It's a welcome pleasure to have you here on Hikari again. There's a few things I'd like to discuss. I apologize if everything is so sudden, with your Daughter just recovering and all."
Hoshi Amakasu     Hoshi holds the door open for her parents to come through, though she gives them a furtive glance as she notices the separation between them. She sighs silently to herself, but seeing Nagato brings a small smile to her face. "Good evening, Admiral," she says, and the greeting is repeated by both Amakasu parents before they all take a seat. Hoshi still seems a little ill at ease, fidgeting with her hair a little while her father starts off the conversation.

"It's no trouble, Admiral Nagato. In fact, it's good that we could see you again. Without you, our daughter would have still been lost in this Multiverse, and we would have no idea where she was. We must thank you for that." Mrs. Amakasu nods gravely. "Thank you for taking care of her medical needs, as well. Hoshi hasn't been very forthcoming about what has happened, but we're grateful for all the help you've given her. If I may, though--is there a specific point you wish to bring up with this meeting?"

Hoshi stays silent, though one hand goes to grip her chair when its mentioned that she hasn't told them where exactly she's been for three years. Judging by the sudden paleness that comes to her face, it seems she's still remembering the true extent of the horror she's gone through during that time.
Nagato     Musashi stands aside as Nagato moves to speak. "Good evening." she does listen to Mr. Amakasu, taking in his compliments and thanks, nodding slightly. "As part of the Hikari Defense Alliance, Amakasu is one of our most valued Daughters in the Special Division Project series of ships." and we start the praise line, then... "As her Admiral, there's things I have to withold for saftey of the Fleet as a whole, so I'm afraid you won't get much info out of myself, my apologies."

And there's the question she was sort of dreading. "Well, yes. There's two, actually. The first one is that your daughter has expressed interest in continuing to be part of the Hikari Defense Alliance and is set to set sail with a fleet in roughly two weeks. I know she just got back and has finished healing, but I will like to express that /she/ volunteered for the mission." there's another pause, then she looks towards Hoshi directly.

"You are, for all intents and purposes, like a daughter to me and the Fleet. It's always been a pleasure to sail along side you. Your heart is pure as well as your personal mission statement, and for that, I'd like to offer you a place in the remanents of the Union, the Paladins, Hoshi. You would do a lot of good with them, just like you did with the Union."
Hoshi Amakasu     Despite herself, Hoshi blushes slightly when Nagato praises her so boldly in front of her parents. Her parents, of course, give little smiles and take some comfort in it, but their expressions turn more dour as they're told again that they would be kept out of the loop that was their daughter's goings-on and what had caused her to be missing for so long. "Surely you can tell us something?" Mrs. Amakasu presses both Nagato and her daughter, and Hoshi squirms under the attention while quickly shaking her head. "No, mom. I'm sorry, but it's still better this way, anyway." Mrs. Amakasu looks crestfallen, and Mr. Amakasu sternly contemplative, but both wait for Nagato to continue her discussion without interrupting further.

That changes when they are alerted that their daughter has once again stuck her neck out towards danger that they are being kept in the dark on. "Admiral," Mr. Amakasu begins with a frown, "Surely you can recognize that this is hardly the time to be putting Hoshi back into danger, especially so soon after her return? I understand--but do not enjoy--the need for secrecy and for Hoshi to be given the time she needs to come forth about her experiences, but this is--" Hoshi clears her throat with determination, interrupting him. "This and that aren't related, and like the Admiral said--I volunteered because I know I'm ready, and I can. Besides, I'll be with the Admiral and with my sisters in the Fleet, not on my own like last time."

Receiving a direct invitation to join the Paladins wasn't quite what Hoshi was expecting, and she blinks in surprise before nodding quickly. "I was already going to apply to the Paladins before, after I learned about everything that had happened. I'm ready to--" This time, Mrs Amakasu interrupts. "Now wait a second. While I understand her place here, we nearly lost Hoshi to the Multiverse before, and the Union was of no help even before the events of the collapse. How are things going to be any different now? With respect, Admiral, how can we trust that anything would be different now than from before?"
Nagato     "What I can tell you is a strange power had her trapped in a form that was very uncomfortable, there were certain things that, while impossible for me to explain, drew me to Hoshi's trapped form to recover her. I saw her true persona considering all the time that we've spent in the Fleet together." while not a lie... she looks to Hoshi, a look of 'it's a retelling of the truth.'. "Please, do trust me in that some of my military secrets were used to recover her. I cannot let that information out, even to the general public... with much respect to you two." There's a bow of her head before she turns towards Mr. Amakasu.

"I can, and do recognize it, Sir, and while I understand your grievances towards it, if I was to give the time off that Hoshi had to the rest of my Fleet, then I would be a very poor Admiral with naught but a bunch of girls and a building to house them in." a pause, "This is a fact that Hoshi has come to understand, working with the Fleet as it is. Her and the other Humans that are enlisted get provisions that make sure they're not overworked and can have a life outside of the Fleet, but there are some... Hoshi included, that take their life here as one of us."

With Hoshi interveining, she nods. "She has a permanent place as one of the Northern Force's fleet members, joining my second in command, my secretary ship and an aircraft carrier. It's only supersceded by your commands, as you're her flesh and blood, not steel and oil." And with Hoshi's acknowledgement of the Paladins, she nods a bit. She opens her mouth to say something but interrupted by Mrs. Amakasu.

"I understand your concern. One of my most trusted Destroyers is also an officer in the Paladins and I am there as well as one of the Trainers. The Paladins are more tightly knit than the Union ever was. Regardless if she applies to the Paladins or not, first and foremost, she's your daughter and second she's my Fleet Daughter. I protect my own, regardless of where they go." there's a look into Mrs. Amakasu's eyes, "Just like you would protect her when she was little. From one mother to another, I do ask that you have more faith in me and my offerings."
Hoshi Amakasu      In a rare moment, the Amakasu parents share a look that communicates everything that need be said between them. Hoshi is too busy frowning and staring off ahead to notice it. Neither of them seem especially happy with the arrangement that is being pushed upon them, but at least remain silent while Nagato lays out her position and what it means for their daughter, Nagato, and themselves. After a time, Hoshi speaks up.

"You both know that I was happy doing the work with the Union, and here with Admiral Nagato," she begins slowly, before picking up confidence with the firmness of her voice. "Enough so that I was going to make a career out of working with the Union. I know it wasn't your first idea of what I would do with my future, but you knew I was serious about it. The fact of the matter is, this is the choice I've made even before now, and what happened since then has only made my resolve stronger. Admiral Nagato and the Fleet care about me, and so will the people in the Paladins. They'll protect me just like I'll work to protect them. It's my choice--and it's already been made." She pauses and sighs quietly, rubbing her cheek. "Sorry that it would up coming out this way, but there's no such thing as perfect timing. It's just what I've chosen, and I hope you can at least support that."

Both Amakasu parents go quiet as their daughter speaks, once again sharing that momentary glance of communication before Mrs. Amakasu sighs heavily. "I don't think that I can ever like the idea of my daughter putting herself into harms way so flagrantly, but I know that we can't stop it from happening, either." Mr. Amakasu nods. "It's not the career I would have wished to see her in, either. Still... She's twenty one years old, and we can't make her decisions for her anymore, not really. What else can we do but agree? Force her to stay hidden in Germany? It wouldn't work. Therefore... We must simply step aside and allow you to make the choice of your future, Hoshi. I just hope that it will be everything that you think it will be." With that, he nods gravely to Nagato, with Mrs. Amakasu following suit slowly, wiping her eyes with a small sigh as she did so.
Nagato     Nagato nods a bit, "Sometimes the career that we wish for one to follow is not the one that they take. I never had the choice, but Hoshi did." Nagato moves to stand up, Musashi moves next to her. "Mr. and Mrs. Amakasu, we are grateful that she has chosen to work with us and I give my promise that we shall make sure she's protected and taken care of as if she was our own flesh and blood, just like you two would in the same position." Both of them move to bow deeply, a respectful showing.

When they get back up, Nagato moves to sit down, "I shall let you know that she is not /bound/ to the Fleet. She's capable of coming and going as she pleases and should she wish to not work with us again, she only has to relinquish the gear we've given her and, while we'll be saddeded with the loss, we will understand her choice. You're free to come on base as needed, as well, of course certain areas are blocked off for civllians and we'll have room in Hoshi's barracks for you two."

Nagato turns to Hoshi. "I believe you have some training to do now. Musashi, make sure she's loaded up properly and find Shimakaze... she needs to get back to training, she only has two weeks to get her movement back on the water." Musashi gives a nod, "Understood, Admiral. Amakasu... Amakasu... Amakasu." a nod towards Mr., Mrs. and Hoshi, the last one a pointed one. "Come, we have training."
Hoshi Amakasu      Mr. and Mrs. Amakasu come to stand and return the bows they are given, seemingly mollified with the fact that Hoshi isn't permanently committed to the Fleet and has the chance to back away should she choose to. Given the firm nod that Hoshi gives as she gives her own bow, it doesn't seem she'll be doing it anytime soon. Mrs. Amakasu stifles a yawn as she looks to see how late the time is. "Thank you for giving us the space," she comments with a small smile. "Being able to come and see at least some of Hoshi's new life outside of Germany would be good for us, I think."

THe mention of training brings a look of determination to Hoshi's face, and she smiles lightly to Musashi as she's given her new orders. "Yes Ms. Musashi. I'll get right back to where I was before, Admiral Nagato, I promise. By the time the operation comes, I'll be set." She bows again to both her family and her Admiral, then turns on her heels to follow Musashi back outside with her back straight and shoulders back, confident and ready for whatever was coming her way now.
