Kotone Yamakawa Vancouver had always been a big port, and the Multiverse had only made it more intense. Once again the issue of forgien investment messing with housing issues had caused growing tensing with off world investment in the region but nothing violent had occued thankfully. Trade beyond had grown and refugees from the old Union had piled on to Kotone's world which had suffered a somewhat noticable population loss in the third and fourth world wars.

Still things had been shockingly getting better on many front though cyberentic advanced and more and more people became a mix of machine and man some ... maybe becoming mostly the former.

Vancouver was a bight place at night holo ads, bright neon lights, people going about their business and kotone was out having a rare moment off from her work with the Paladins. She was just cutting back and enjoying the night life of Vancouver.

Ko was casually dressed in a strange top with detached sleeves, and there was certainly something strange about her, her eyes and some parts of her exposed body.
Robert Speedwagon Aaaaand Speedwagon wouldn't be able to find his way around in this place with a map and a native guide.

There's just too much going on. The city's bigger than London even, and so lit up with lights he can't discern the purpose of that he just wouldn't have a prayer of being able to figure out what all of this is for. There's enough ads to choke an ox, and he has to wonder if the birds around here have trouble with navigation because of all the bright lights.

So, there is a well-built blond fellow wearing a dark suit, riding boots, and a top hat with a black-and-white diamond pattern on it, looking quite dumbstruck with it all. He'd look like any other person except but for two things. One, he's sporting a scar across the left side of his face, beginning at the side of his nose and slashing diagonally across his cheek. And two, his attire looks... Victorian?
Kotone Yamakawa Someone with a scar like Roberts, might just be pegged for a world war vet. Though his more Victorian sense of style? That would get some attntion such of Kotone's own. She walks up to the man pausing for a moment. Her accent might not match up with how she looks she grins a bit.

"You look a little lost, though you got quite the sense of style."

Honestly without the top hat? He might just be seen as a business man with a flare for teaking Victorian styles. Also there was no con in town at the time so it couldn't be someone cosplaying, so what could it be.

"You need any help sir?"
Robert Speedwagon Robert doesn't notice anyone's walked up to him. Not until Kotone speaks. Then he looks quickly to her, with a confused blink of light brown eyes. And then he blinks again. Not just at the accent. From the look of things, he's staring at her hair. To be fair, if he's wearing Victorian attire, that could mean he IS a Victorian man. And 'cyberspace cyan' was kind of an odd color back in those days. This being the Multiverse, anything's possible.

He seems to realize after a moment that he's staring. At least he kept his eyes above her neck! "Ah! Sorry about that! A little confused." He nods. "I might 'ave managed ter misplace meself. Where exactly is this, if yer don't mind?" Speaking of accents, he's got a rather thick one himself. It's somewhere between southern London and Cockney.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa is sizing him up a bit, she notices no wireless signal from him, so he's either not a local, or someone who has reason not to get even basic implants. She's thinking he's not from around here from his clothing though.

"Vancouver, in the country of Canada. Oh I'm Kotone."

The Accent Kotone is aware of, it's British at least she thinks so. Though if that's the case wouldn't she have the 'accent' and not him?

"Also is something wrong??"

Is he looking at her jacks or her hair? She can't tell.
Robert Speedwagon This blond fellow indeed has no wireless signal. And what of his skin remains uncovered -- really only his face and his hands -- is unbroken by the lines produced by the application of artificial skin to a human body. His hair's natural, too. And his clothes are made of natural materials too -- cotton, wool, and linen. Whatever the cause, this really is someone untouched by the cybernetic revolution.

Speedwagon wouldn't know a datajack from a didgeridoo, actually. Though it's unlikely Kotone would know that. He does squint at her for a moment though, an assessing look. For a moment it makes him look incredibly rough -- like... well, like a thug, to be honest. Come to think of it he does have a rather overall rough look to him... like he's been on the wrong side of the tracks...

Though as quickly as he gave her that look, it seems to ease, to a friendly sort of look. Whatever he was looking for, apparently he seems to be satisfied with what he found. "I'm sorry about that, miss. Your hair color's... odd, comparatively speakin'. 'Leastways, it is where I come from."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa Seems to get she's being sized up though she's not sure why she's a bit concerned and she doe see tht look. She also knows that look aas well given where she's workedin the mulltivese before the end of the Confed vs Union war.

"I'm just fond of the colour myself picked it out a while back. I can get that and it's not a natural colour no. There's things that can dye hair or charnge hair colour around here. Given your clothing I could get that, threads like that would ... cost heck of alot these days. Still nice sense of style though I have never seen a top hat like that."
Robert Speedwagon "It looks very natural," Speedwagon comments, figuring it to be a dye of sorts. "That's why it took me for a loop; I thought it was natural! Though given what I've seen so far, I'm not sure I should be surprised! Takes some gettin' used ta."

The hat. She had to bring up the hat. Robert removes the hat, looking at it sadly as he runs a finger across the brim. Remembering something, perhaps. "It belonged ter a friend 'f mine," he notes. "He died while we was tryin' ta save a town from a vampire."

Mind, he keeps his voice down as he says that last. Because he doesn't want to blurt out to the masses that the things that go bump in the night actually DO exist. But it might be clear from this that this fellow wears his heart on his sleeve.

Oh, but then he remembers something! "Ah! Rude as ever, I am. Terribly sorry!" He places the hat back on his head, and then puts a hand on his chest. "The name's Robert E.O. Speedwagon!" he offers.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa grins a tthe comment of how it works natural and seems pleased about it. "Fair enough andosme places I'm are of everything from purple, to pink is considered normal hair colours for people." She at least thought the hat was interesting and she frowns. "I'm sorry for your lost anyone willing to do something like that had to be someone worth knowing." She keeps her tone low as well.

"Good to meer you Robert E.O. Speedwagon." Wait wasn't that a band name? Then again if it was an actual surname it could expalin where they got it after all.

"So anything I can help you with you seem abit lotand I suspect you might have trouble with a few things here like the news papers."
Robert Speedwagon Robert looks quite confused at the mention of pink being a 'natural' hair color. PINK, of all things! Shaking his head, he remarks, "This 'Multiverse' is gonna take some gettin' used to."

Though the mention of his friend being 'someone worth knowing'? A noticeably sad look comes over his face. "He was," Speedwagon replies. "Damn fine fellow." Thankfully he doesn't dwell on it too long either. This isn't the place for it.

Instead he turns his attention to the offer of assistance. "That would be incredibly helpful, yes. The year is 1888 in my home, if that helps." Sure, he's not a genius, but he can tell this technology is WAAAAAAY beyond the stuff he's used to. So he gives a helpful benchmark from which Kotone might be able to start.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "It's 2037 or so here and tell me about it magic, the super natural, non human races has been a hell of a mind job for me too." She does not say more on Speedwagon's dead friend she gets it could be painful. "So how about some food and we can talk over that." She seem pretty chipper. "There's a place not far from here. You got any wants far as food goes?"
Robert Speedwagon At this, Speedwagon blinks. "Magic? Non-human races? And... yer 'aven't grown up with it? It's all new?" That actually makes him feel a LITTLE better, anyway. So he's not the only one struggling to understand what's going on around him.

The question of food gets a thoughtful look, and he rubs his chin. "Well, ya know what they say -- 'when in Rome, do as the Romans do'. What can ya recommend?"
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "No I was in college around the time that my world unified i admit." She grins for a moment "That's a saying that's still around humm could go get pizza, I know a good Japanese place and a really awesome Greek Place near here." She notes she pauses for a moment seeing a bit distracted but for what reason? She's currently jacked into the net and checking out local restruants.
Robert Speedwagon Speedwagon gives this some thought. "Hm. I don't actually know much about Japan, so I wouldn't know what ta pick," he decides. "So that's one off the list. I've been ta Greece before, though it was when I was only a boy, an' I didn't get ta spend much time there. Not familiar with the 'pizza' at all, though."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "No it would be dealing with interal problems. "Greek's prety goo and Pizza? It's a type of thin bread loaded with cheese meat and Vegtables, or can be in various combinations it's pretty good. Or there is fish and chips too given we're on a port city."
Robert Speedwagon "Internal problems? Japan, ya mean?" Robert inquires. "I s'pose that makes sense." Though the talk of the food gets a laugh. "Ha! Now THAT'S familiar!" he declares. "Though I'd say the reason for travelin' is ter experience new things. And it sounds like there's a lot 'f options with this pizza business."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "At least here in that time it was modernizing itself." She grins for a moment at his mention of food. "I hear you there, and there is. IT spread from Contiental Europe we think and just hasn't stopped. So long as you'll eat bread of some sort, tomatos and cheese the rest is .. up to you. So it pread and you should see some of the menu options in some countries it ... gets adapted pretty well.
Robert Speedwagon "Oh, so that's what's goin' on," Speedwagon notes. He pays attention though, when Kotone's explaining where pizza came from. "Bread, tomatoes, and cheese sounds like a good start to a meal. Add a meat an' you're all set to go. Though, I s'pose that's where the other stuff comes in, to add a meat." He laughs at the mention of 'adapted' menu options. "Considerin' some 'a the odd things I've seen some native types eat, I can imagine."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "All sorts some combinations are popular enough to be standard orders." She grins for a moment and she follows along for a moment. "Tell me about it I had ... some very funny misunderstands with my cousins over pizza toppings." Whe'll strike off asking for Robert to follow. "Sounds like your up to explore the multiverse though, I still do that even with my job."
