Scene #5275: Through The Breach

Golden	The hole between worlds remained stable in Newport 1800, and the Japanese government has begun building a great quarantine area around it, construction crews working around the clock to complete the no-man's land. The beginnings of guard towers and fortress walls, all aimed at keeping whatever emerges from the portal to the digital world from escaping. Around the breach itself, a sort of staging area has been built, likely in preparation for expeditions into whatever lies beyond. Security is heavy, and that Tyrannomon has been enlisted to help keep the city safe. Outside experts have been called too. Including other digimon, from a variety of digital worlds. While there is distrust on the part of the Defense force, given the destruction wrought by the feral Coredramon, it's clear to the government that digimon are as varied as people. Golden and Ashley are walking around with a tour group comprised of humans and a hanful of digimon.
Alden	Alden was not quite an 'expert' but given his position as ambassador of his own digital realm... and curiosity about what might happen with the newly formed portal, meant he and Katze visited often!. He was fond of the big dinosaur, honestly, and Even Katze had to admit the Tyranomon was cool. That Golden and his tamer were around was a huge bonus!. The pair were taking another one of their rounds in the area, just to check how everything was going, the gabumon on his fluffy, quadruped shape, padding around with a cat eared Shinki on his head, being silly and trying to make him do tricks, whenever they stopped.
Golden	Ashley and Golden part ways with the tour group after spotting Katze and Alden, loitering around their friends. Ashley can't resist petting the floofy digimon, wearing a broad grin on her face. "Hey Alden! Hey Katze! How've you guys been?" Golden makes a silly face at Alden, just behind Ashley. "What's new, guys?"
Alden	The garurumon is indeed fluffy, despite the somewhat scary looks, and he lets his tongue hang out whenever someone rubs his chin or pets him just the righ way, leaning into Ashley's touch with a wag of that long, fuzzy, ropey tail of his, momentarily lost on the petting. Katze meantime giggles at the reaction, "Alden went to save people on a ship the other day!" she says cheerfully. Poor Alden seems to react at the silly face, blushing a bit and shaking his had, "I... we have been ok!, just relaxing, except for one or two things, just checking to see how everything was going!"
Golden	The veemon flops down next to Alden and Katze, and pulls sandwiches out of the small insulated backpack he's been wearing, offering one to Alden. "Ham, turkey, and bacon, with cheese!" He explains. Looks like the sandwich may be a bit heavy on the bacon. Ashley takes a seat on the paved walkway too, looking at the swirling portal. "I wonder what's in there. Is it one of the Digital Worlds that digimon are from?"
Alden	Alden makes sure to slurp Golden's cheek (and face) in revenge fo the silly faces, before delicately snagging a sandwich, quickly devouring it, "It's good!" he says after he swallows, certainly not minding the extra meat in it. The big fluffy wolf beast settles next to Ashley, while Katze takes a spot on the tamer's lap, "Well, I figure it must be one, I saw the Tyranomon adn the other one come from it." he says.
Golden	F Golden made the sandwiches how he likes them, and digimon like eating meat and meat products. So it isn't too surprising that another digimon doesn't mind the extra bacon. Ashley hmmmmms... "We should hop in and see what it's like!" She plucks Katze off her lap and gives the Maochao a spot on her shoulder before dashing off towards where the staging area is. TGolden stops mid-chewing as his tamer takes off, internally debating whether or not to run after her or finish his sandwich. He opts for... both. He stuffs the mostly intact sandwich in his mouth, barely chewing, and gulping down the whole thing. Then he grabs the backpack and takes off after Ashley. "Woah, hey! Wait up! I've only got these stubby legs!"
Alden	The bigger digimon chuckles as Ashley takes off with Katze on tow, the Maochao just mewling and purring happily, cheering her! The wolf moves next to Golden, lowering his head, "Climb on, it'll be faster." he says with a grin, before chasing the eager human.
Golden	The guards aren't quite sure what to do. Civilians aren't exactly allowed to visit the portal staging area. They stop the young woman and the shinki, naturally. Not /aggressively/ so, as it's a kid. "Ma'am, you're not allowed past." Ashley hadn't thought this through. "Uh.... I just wanted to see the portal up close?" "Ma'am, we don't know how dangerous it is, so only authorized personnell are allowed closer." Golden whoos and hops onto Alden's back, glad to have the help.
Alden	Alden does not mind carrying his friend at all!, wagging his tail and happily bounding to catch up with Ashley. He tries to smile to the guards, "It's ok, we are with them, we will keep them safe." he tries to reassure them... of course, smiling might be a bit scary, with all those sharp ends.
Golden	The guards aren't budging on this. But one of them does call their CO on the radio. Golden uhs. "We should think about this, Ashley. I mean... if we do go through, how do we get back?" Golden is trying to make a point about hopping through unknown portals. Ashley seems to think about this. "We can figure that out once we're there, right?" Talk about the tamer and digimon having similar personalities. Ashley is more impulsive than Golden is, but maybe that's due to age and experiences? Ashley ducks under the reach of the guards and makes a break for the breach. Golden just curses and urges Alden to follow their partners.
Alden	The garurumon is not a horse!, buuut, he likes Golden and is content to do as told, muttering a quick apology to the poor guards and jumping around any barriers to keep up with the eager Ashley, "Hey, wait for us!, do not go alone!" he barks.
Golden	Alarms sound as the soldiers spot the young woman running towards the portal. Nobody's really talked about protocol for this sort of thing; they'd always assumed that things would be trying to break /out/ of the breach. Ashley gives a quick pause and a glance backwards to make sure that Alden and Golden are following, before diving through the breach.
Alden	The wolf tries to keep up of course, almost bumping into Ashley as he charges through, shouting apologies as he bypasses the guards.
Golden	Through the breache the quartet go then... This new digital world is both familiar and alien to the digimon. There is the impression of incomprehensible vastness, a tree atop an infinite mountain, whose branches grow ever outward. Whose leaves are the many landmasses and locals of this digital world. The portal they've emerged from is wreathed by branches from this world tree. Ashley is just on the other side, standing awestruck by the vista before her.
Alden	Skids to a stop, claws dragging on the ground as he just remains silent, watching the wonderful view around him, certainly new to him!, yet he does look back to the 'portal' if only to see if the portal seemed open from their side, "It's... amazing."
Golden	Golden takes in the view too, awestruck. "... It's a Yggdrasil, I think? A World Tree right?" Ashley just says "It's so beautiful."
Alden	Alden looks back at Golden like he is speaking in chinese or something, "World... tree?" he asks, tilting his head, "What is that?" he muses, looking over his shoulder at the Veemon. Katze just takes pictures of the area, and everyone else's awestruck faces.
Golden	The apparent time is sunset, judging from the rosy golden haze permeating the horizon. One can see the distant lights of other leaf-continents starting to show, much like stars would be in the sky. "Er... in my world, Yggdrasil was the supercomputer responsible for managing the digital world. Here... it seems to just keep everything together." Golden explains, hopping down from Alden. The familiar parts of this particular leaf-continent are the meat trees and meat plants, and the digimon glimpsed in the distance. However, other near leaf-continents do not have digimon on them, but instead harbor other orphaned digital realms that have emerged as the multiverse natives have reconnected their local information networks to the larger multiverse network. Ashley finally shakes off the dumbstruck awe that seeing the network of realms in a physical form has inspired. "Look!" She points at some more distant 'branches' that look like they're harboring seeds of some sort. "I wonder if they contain places like the leaves?" She wonders aloud.
Alden	The wolf sits on his haunches, straining to see in the distance, "Ah, I see!" he says, "I don't recall ever hearing about that thing back home." he muses, one paw trying to rub his chin, looks... silly. He wags his tail, and moves to examine one of the nearby meat plants, while Katze complains about him trying to eat. "Just checking!" he protests. The question about further branches gets him to look back at her, "Well, i can carry you all and fly around a bit, but this feels like a more serious expedition."
Golden	Ashley pouts. "But it's so beautiful!" Golden says quickly. "We only brought sandwiches, Ashley. We'd need water and other things if we wanted to come back." He's trying to get his tamer to see reason.
Alden	The big wolf nods, offering a lick on Ashley's cheek, "Maybe we can prepare for next time?, water... just in case, some food, sleeping bags, everything!"
Golden	Ashley considers it. "Welll... I definitely want my baseball bat if we're going exploring... so I guess we should go back." Golden breathes a sigh of relief. "I hope they don't shoot us when we go back..."
Alden	The big wolf noses Ashley's cheek at that, before glancing to Golden, "Want me to go first?" he asks, "Or maybe Ashley should go first..."
Golden	Golden uhs. "I... don't know? Maybe we should go in at the same time?" Ashley grins. "We're off to see the Wizard?"
Alden	Katze laughs, catching the reference, but Alden just tilts his head... and scratches it. "Well, all together at once it is!" he says, nuzzling both Golden and Ashley, "Want me to carry you?"
Golden	Golden shakes his head. "I'm fine, thanks Alden." And they walk through the portal to see... lots of armed soldiers pointing guns at them. "Oh, it's just that girl and her friends who ran through." There's a moment where the soldiers don't put the guns down. Possibly waiting to see if anything follows the four of them through. But after that tense handful of seconds, the soldiers relax. "You're all in some trouble you know." says one of the guards they'd rushed past.
