Princess Luna      The magical land of Equestria!

It looks very much like the other, more well known land. Landscape, landmarks, cities, all are the same. But, just about anyone stepping through the local warpgate would likely be surprised to find that...it's a land full of anthropomorphic ponies rather than the quadrupedal types from other worlds.

The sky is bright and sunny, with only a few clouds visible here and there (many of which have pegasi resting on them). There are also helium and hot-air balloons floating about, some basic and some with more yacht-like builds. There is a set of train tracks winding through the land. And there are what would be considered early model cars rolling about, their engines sounding more like electric motors than gas.

The warpgate lets visitors out right at the front gate to the capital city of Canterlot, where several tall, strong-looking guards of all three different pony types stroll about with their long spears and shining silver armor. Oddly, all of the guards are white ponies. The train can be taken from here to other areas of the world, and there is a car service for getting quickly about the vast city.

Although there has been no official invites, word has gotten out about a social event at the castle to which all are invited. Of course mostly ponies will be attending, but anyone who happens to be visiting or has a good intelligence vine would have heard about it.
Mortimer Balman      A horror descends upon Equestria. A horror unlike ANY THEY HAVE EVER KNOWN. From the dark depths of the Multiverse comes a garish array of colours assembled in such a frightful way as to be offensive to the very soul, and sounds that threaten to eat away at one's sanity until all that remains is madness and screams.

     FOREIGNER TOURISTS.

It was not often that Mort had cause to wear one of his Hawaiian shirts, shutter shades, and flip flops. Going to a foreign land to do touristy stuff? Was one such cause. So lazily sailing down the roads of Canterlot is a fiery morph wearing what 'proper' society would no doubt consider appalling and absurd, on a rented motorcycle (probably something similar to a Triumph Type H given the local technology levels) with his shirt flapping in the breeze, and a scar-coated Wartortle clinging to his shoulder. Mort was probably a good foot, foot and a half taller than the average customer for such bikes, so he probably looks a bit awkward on it too.

But worse than mere sight is sound, because Mortimer is most certainly not leaving his radio equipment at home. He was tunes while riding, as any civilized man should. Something that sounds extremely.. 60s acid rock- kinda Grateful Dead/Pink Floyd-ish stuff- comes from a small device that has been secured via duct tape to the bars of the vehicle. "o/` Been ridin' on that cosmic freight train, feelin' bad. And don't you come 'round here, anymore! o/`" Of course Reder can only tolerate so much of that. "<Sarge I love you and all but if I have to listen to this for a minute longer I'm going to kill you, and feed you to the masses.>" "Bah, just because /you/ have no sense of taste." "<There are no words in any language to describe how far you can fuck off with that kind of logic.>" The meter-tall creature clambered down onto the seat and began toying with the cube, until something more akin to hard gangsta rhythms (but without the lyrics) began playing. "<Ahh.. Much better.>" "Y'know the locals're prolly gonna hate this one way or t'other." "<...And?>"
Josuke Higashikata Josuke's only recently arrived in the Multiverse, and he's eager to explore. Particularly now that school's let out for the day and homework's been done. But since this social shindig is apparently at a castle... well, the school unform is about the most formal thing he's got to wear! At least, that he can excuse leaving the house in. So he wears that. Of course, he didn't hear about it until he entered the world to begin with, so it's a little moot anyway, since he was already wearing it.

He hopefully won't be stopped by the guards, since he's not causing trouble or anything. Nothing needs trouble caused at it. Yet. Though actually he hopes nothing does need trouble caused at it. He likes parties, and doesn't like when they get interrupted by trouble. Like Janine's poor birthday party.

Well, if he's not stopped by guards, Josuke will board the train -- hopefully they take Japanese yen. If not, he'll just hitch a ride on the back of the train. He tends not to care much about rules, after all. But he'll get there eventually! So, eventually there will be another guest to the party -- a young fellow, human, wearing a blinged-out school uniform, sporting a well-kept pompadour.

He arrives after Mortimer and Reder, so he misses most of the tussling over the radio. But he does look quite surprised to see a man with the head of a... actually he has no idea what it is. But it's on fire. And that doesn't seem to be a problem for the guy. Of course this is going to prompt an incredulous look. See that? That's the look of a newbie to the Multiverse, Mort. You've probably seen it before.
Princess Luna      When Josuke tries to board the train to get to the castle, he is politely directed to the car service. Nope, no guards hassling him. He's done nothing to deserve hassling. A car that looks like a classic old taxi ferries Josuke to the castle upon request, and the driver hesitantly takes his yen before muttering about troublesome multiversal types.

Mortimer...well, he draws plenty of attention and many ponies cover their ears at the noise he is blasting. Some shake their fists at him, while a select few perk their ears and start air guitaring. But, he isn't hassled until he reaches the castle gates. At which point he is met by a column of guards with their spears pointed at him like a phalanx. "HALT!" the many white stallions call out in unison, prepared to stop the 'charge' if necessary. You'll have to forgive them. They don't have much experience with bikes, flaming badgers, or acid rock.
Mortimer Balman      Mortimer turns the bike well before he /gets to/ the guards, of course. I mean he lives in another Equestria after all, he knows what these people are like. They're just bipedal here. He'd pull it to the side and park it against the nearest building (since y'know if this is early 1900s tech we don't really have much in the way of 'parking lots' just yet, and even now putting a bike on a sidewalk is generally okay!) and turn the music box off. Of course that probably wouldn't matter much as he's still gonna get SPEARS pointed at him.

"Whoa, hey, calm down there boys 'n girls. Surely you lot don't see a silly old tourist as so dangerous, I warrant a whole platoon gettin' all threatenin', aye?"

Hands are put up as a sign of submission and lack of aggressive intent. The wartortle is of course, far less inclined to act in similar fashion, simply folding his arms over his trunk and glare up at the guardponies while tapping claws against his scales. "<Seriously Sarge? Do we have to put up with this crap /every freaking where we go/?!>" "Calm down, bro. This world is /diff'rent/. We should be happy we could rent a bike when we got here. They'd be pretty crap guards if they /didn't/ take this job dead seriously. Speakin' a which- good on you young'uns fer that! I'm /proud/ t'see y'take it serious-like." "<Feh. Yer fulla shit, Sarge..>"
Josuke Higashikata Josuke's fine with the car. Though he'll apologize to the driver, because... well, that's all he's got, unfortunately. He looks like he knows he's hopelessly out of place, though, with that very clear 'whowhatwhenwherewhy' look on his face. Gives him a bit of a dopey look, honestly.

Of course when someone's getting spears pointed at them, Josuke pauses and watches. Not just out of a desire to rubberneck, but because he's actually concerned. For both sides, actually. If the guy with his head on fire and his entourage IS a big enough threat to warrant all those spears pointed at them, then others could be in danger. If they're not, they could be in danger. His eyes narrow a little, with a shrewd look, but he doesn't interfere yet.
Princess Luna      The guards relax somewhat when Mortimer stops and holds up his hands, but their spears stay in place. One of the guards, a lieutenant most likely, motions to a pegasus guard and he flies off toward the castle. Then, the lieutenant motions to the others and they back up a bit before the lieutenant approaches. He is really only distinguishable by the more ornate pauldrons. "I apologize if you are merely a tourist, but as you said we cannot be lax in our duty to the princesses. There are many dangerous creatures, both of Equestria and beyond, that may wish to harm our beloved leaders. And we cannot be too careful. Princess Luna may be holding a social, but any suspicious persons must be check thoroughly." He then proceeds to check Mortimer for obvious weapons with a good old fashioned pat-down. "What is your name, sir?" he asks as he checks Mortimer out.

Josuke is pretty much lost in the crowd as like him ponies gather to see the spectacle and start murmuring to each other. But, all of that murmuring comes to a stop when a dark shadow passes overhead. A glance up would show a pony with both wings and a horn hovering in the silhouette of the sun, its dark form obscured except for an ethereal mane and tail of pale blue and medium purple speckled with what looks like stars. And holding a scythe that gives it a decidedly angel of death look. The figure slowly lowers down, steadily revealing itself to be a tall winged unicorn woman, or what is known as an alicorn. The guards all go wide eyed before raising their spears back to the neutral position while Princess Luna lands in front of Mortimer and Reder and beside the guard lieutenant. "Silver Shield, is there a problem?" she asks, though her solemn gaze is quite directed at Mortimer and his turtle companion, her scythe rested with the long, curved blade above her head.
Mortimer Balman      Mortimer slowly lets his hands go down when Luna appears and gently moves one of the spears out of the way so that he can give a proper bow to the princess. Reder sighs irritably but also makes a token sign of submission, but his is far more brusque and curt- the wartortle has clearly had it up to here with being accosted by people for whatever reason. Things like this are probably a common occurrence for them, given their strange looks and manners of speaking. The beast does visibly look less irritated when the spears are put at 'rest' though, and climbs back up onto his 'Sarge's' shoulder to stare intently at the guards, and occasionally at Luna. "<Huhn. You were right, Sarge. She /does/ sound like ours. If I didn't know better..>"

While Silver Shield is patting him down, Mort realizes more or less instantly what's being done, and saves the young knight some trouble- "I have a knife behind my back, the sheath is hooked on my belt, it's got a small pressure lock. It's a ka-bar knife, 'bout seven inches long. Tool knife just so y'know, I left my combat knife back at home. There's another little belt-pocket that has a fancy little survivalist multitool in it. Folding razor blade, scissors, corkscrew, magnet, screwdriver, toothpick, file, stuff like that, couple spare razor blades are sewn into the pocket's lining in case I need spares. I also have a small coil of fishin' twine in my left breast pocket." Guardians tend to appreciate it when someone is forthcoming about their armaments. Even if those 'armaments' are mostly just 'tools'. Mort's physique and the way he carries himself would probably stand out hard to Silver Shield, someone who could easily /make/ those things into weapons.

A brief glance around the crowd and Mort sees Josuke. A toothy grin and short wave is given before he looks back. "Even got a human visitin' now. Sure I am that this is the start of a boomin' tourist industry."
Josuke Higashikata Josuke doesn't mind the press of others surrounding him to watch the scene. Though a couple of the more outlandish-looking ponies may get a blink. He clearly doesn't mean anything by it, no. He's just honestly curious and has never seen bipedal horses before. Particularly not in assorted pastel shades! This whole thing is very much starting to feel like a very weird dream, and part of him is wondering when he's going to wake up with a stomachache from eating too much at dinner the previous night.

And then things just get more trippy when... a pony with a wickedly curved scythe shows up. Josuke is kind of frozen, to be honest. He doesn't know what to do. Maybe it's just the sense that the arriving alicorn-woman is incredibly powerful that's got him so spooked. Or maybe it's the guy with his head on fire? Or maybe it's the... oh God it's a turtle. Josuke's eye twitches uncomfortably. The response is muted for the time being, though only because there's about a hundred ponies between him and the turtle.

But then there's a wave from the on-fire guy. Josuke blinks, but returns Mortimer's wave. He still looks confused, but not confused enough that he'd forget his manners, at least. So that's something.
Princess Luna      Silver Shield blinks in surprise as Mortimer lists all those tools off, then stops his pat-down. "Uh...well, please remove them." He motions to a guard, and the guard brings a medium-sized steel box. "We will have to hold them until you leave the castle grounds. I'm sure it seems trivial to someone like you, since you multiversals can usually crush cars with your pinkies or melt them or whatever else, but...castle rules."

Luna's ears perk as Mortimer talks, and she smiles just a hint. "Ah, art thou the stall-...er...male that spoke to me on the Stark network? I am honored by your presence." she says, then looks to Reder as he begrudgingly shows some respect. "I trust that both thee and thy companion will cause no trouble during thy stay in Equestria?" she asks, a slight playful smirk on her face that is likely rarely seen in her counterpart.

Luna looks over as Mort waves to Josuke and points out the human. "Ah, it is not unusual. We have had several elite visitors and many tourists since we arrived in the Multiverse. I even had a human try to steal Nightsong." she says. She then holds up the hand with the scythe and in a flash of pale blue light it disappears. Apparently she doesn't expect any trouble from either. "Once the guards have cleared thee, we can make our way to the party. Pinkie Pie has organized quite the gathering despite the impromtu nature of this party."
Mortimer Balman      A short bow of the head. "A'course, Ladyship. I could scarcely do aught else, I suspect." A pause at Silver Shield's statements, and Mortimer lets out a long, coarse laugh, clapping the far younger lieutenant's shoulder. "Gwahahahahaa! Alright lad, I can't do quite all /that/ but certainly, y'can hold my tools till I leave." He undoes his belt a bit- pausing only to look back over his shoulder at the crowds. "What, you people hopin' fer a striptease on top of all else? Y'want /that/ I'd best start seein' some money gettin' waved 'round!" A raspberry in their direction as he took his belt off, and handed the articles over to the guard with the box. And then the twine. "Now fer future reference here, this metal box? Looks good fer ceremonial stuff, but you oughtta want somethin' /sturdier/, an' /heavier/. You want something that could absorb a lot of heat or explosive force. Maybe add more padding, thicker iron, somethin' like that." Morty's a helpful old man like that. He doesn't even /sound/ condescending.

Once disarmed, he waits for the guards to finish clearing him before he makes his way inside, pausing only to look back and call out to Josuke. "Ey there, human lad! Y'ought t'ask if you can come in too! If this Canterlot is anything like mine, there should be grand caterin' inside!" Reder stretched his tail a bit and scratched at his cheek, "<Shit, that's right.. Hey do you think they have more of that delicious punch like at the Gala? That was /awesome/ punch.>" "I'd bet yer skull on it." "<Hey!>"
Josuke Higashikata Josuke also waves to the alicorn-lady as she looks in his direction. Maybe he's starting to calm down a little, since he offers a polite smile in Luna's direction as well. Either he's starting to get used to it a little or he's worried about the consequences of not being polite to someone who can summon a scythe like magic!

Things seem to be calming down over there, so the crowd will probably start dispersing. Particularly with Mortimer's words. Josuke emits a snort, but covers his mouth to try and stifle it. The comment actually helps, since it's an incredibly NORMAL thing to say in Mortimer's situation. But Josuke is still polite, and he turns his head, just in case Mort's shorts fall without the belt or something.

And then he hears 'human lad'. Definitely talking to him, as a quick look 'round will probably confirm. "Huh? Oh... yeah, I was heading there. I'm new here. Not just 'here' here, but the..." He waves in the direction of the warpgate. "The Multiverse."

As he speaks, he takes a few steps in Mort's and Luna's direction, but then... just freezes. Because he's realized something. That turtle. It's walking on two legs. And acting... very much like a human. And TALKING. He freezes again, eyes locked on Reder, looking as though he's... not quite sure what to do. Also not unlike he's expecting to suddenly be eaten by a three foot tall turtle.

Twitch... twitchtwitch...
Princess Luna      The crowd responds as one might expect from sheltered ponies. Many scoff and wander off, muttering about the nerve of some people. The younger of the crowd laugh and one mare even wolf whistles and winks to Mort before the crowd disperses, leaving Josuke with a clear path to the castle. Luna herself turns the cutest shade of purple-ish pink at the suggestion. "Sir! I must ask thee to refrain from such comments while on castle grounds!" she says, obviously flustered. A few years of freedom is not enough to shake off the old world sensibilities after 1000 years locked away. Silver Shield is giving Mort a 'He really just said that' sort of look, which turns to surprise as Mort offers advice on more secure lockboxes. "Uh...right. We'll take that under advisement." he says. Despite how serious they are about their job, it obviously has never occured to them that someone might bring in a bomb and put it in the lockboxes.

Luna looks over as Mort invites the human in, and she offers a small wave in return before waiting for both Mort and Josuke to be cleared before she heads into the courtyard. It is a rather large courtyard, with many statues of famous Equestrian historical figures scattered about. And Mortimer might notice that the Discord 'statue' is not there.

The walk through the courtyard is a pleasant one, though Luna has to stop periodically to greet some noble or high class guest. She is good at putting on an amicable face, but Mortimer and Josuke might get the feeling that she has no love for such things. "I do not believe we have been properly introduced." she says to Mortimer and Josuke as they walk. "I am Princess Luna, and this is Canterlot Castle. Although this is a much more casual gathering than usual, I must ask both of thee to practice proper etiquette. We are civilized ponies here, and have not encountered many of the things that beings from other world might consider common place."
Mortimer Balman      Reder stayed atop Mort's shoulder, either too lazy to walk or simply content to be more visible atop his perch, is having a damned good laugh at the people who get all snippety over Mortimer's proclamation. "<Haaa.. Alright Sarge, this'll prolly be a good trip after all. Hey do you have any dip left?>" "What? No, yer not gonna get dip-spit all over the palatial grounds." "<Alright, alright...>" And then Luna got flustered. "A'course, Ladyship. My apologies. I've only so much patience fer bein' stared at, an' Reder.. Well, he is an animal, after all." "<Grrr, ruff ruff.>" "Yer not a dog, stop that." "<Woof woof!>" "Smart-arse.." Oh good, Josuke is coming along after all! Awesome, kid's in for a real treat.

Mortimer walks through the courtyard as though he knows it. And he does- it's similar enough to the one in his adoptive homeland that he stops at where the Discord statue /should/ be.. And narrows his eyes briefly, puffing out a small cloud of smoke despite not having a visible cigarette or pipe. "Hn.." That gives him some timeline information, at least. While Luna is busy with talking to the upper crust-types, Mort leans over to Josuke to murmur to him. "Don't worry too much about the etiquette thing, son. Just keep yer nose clean an' you'll be fine. If one of the stuffy aristocrats traps you in a loop of mindless chatter, just pretend it "matters" for a minute or two an' make up a quick excuse to leave the conversation. 'I simply must view the tapestries' is a good one." Josuke doesn't look like the sort who could stand to be talking to overly self important nobles, so hopefully Mort's advice is helpful. To note, he's leaning in to talk to Josuke on the side that /doesn't/ have Reder perched on it. "They're not bad people but most of them are /horrendously/ dull."
Josuke Higashikata Believe it or not, Luna's blush actually helps too. It's adorable, and a very human response. The weirder things seem to him, the more he needs assurances that there are at least SOME similarities. It's those similarities he can hang his hat on, so to speak, and start to make sense of things, now that he has points of reference. He'll start to the castle with Luna and Mortimer, though there's clearly more distance between himself and Mortimer than is probably strictly necessary, since he's still more than a little creeped out by the turtle on his shoulder.

Mortimer's muttered words to Josuke draw his attention, and he looks up. Bit of a twitch there at Reder, but he holds onto it well. He nods. "Oh... good idea," he notes, with a nod. "Tapestries... I'll have to remember that one." He doesn't really know much about the nobility here -- or anywhere else, really.

Though, Mort's talk must help, since while Luna's talking to the noble ponies, Josuke merely bows politely to any who happen to greet him, and doesn't say anything unless he's spoken to. Dressed like a delinquent, acts like a well-behaved kid. That's a weird combination.

However, Luna's introduction and request gets a nod. "I understand, Princess Luna," he offers. "I'll try to behave. My name's Josuke Higashikata. It's good to meet you." He smiles.
Princess Luna      Luna raises an eyebrow at Reder. What a strange turtle creature. "Why wouldst thou spit dip all over the grounds? Would it not be better used for its intended purpose, as a topping for chips?" she says as they near the castle doors. They are propped open at the moment and flanked by a pair of guards who nod to the trio as they head inside.

The dining hall being used for the party is already quite full, and there are many high class, noble, and common ponies already milling about. A certain white unicorn girl with purple shades is managing the music, and a certain pink pony girl is bouncing about, sharing balloons and cupcakes and other things of that nature. The different classes are a bit divided, since nobles and fancy ponies prefer to stick to their own kind, but there is some mingling thanks to enthusiastic common ponies and some less uptight high class ponies. The music is some sort of mix between rock and classical, trying to please both kinds of ponies.

And then there is the buffet. As is proper for this sort of gathering, a full catering table has been set up. Although everything is vegitarian, there is plenty to satisfy just about any palette. Sweet, spicy, hearty, light, and of course plenty of desserts too. And of course, as soon as Luna appears she is accosted by citizens competing for her attention. She politely tries to greet as many as possible, but as she starts to become surrounded there is a shimmer about her form before a smaller similarly colored unicorn pony girl tugs on Mortimer and Josuke before giving a wink. "Let us continue to converse while my illusory self attends to the greetings." she says, sounding like Luna but just a bit more high pitched.
Mortimer Balman      Reder turns an eye at Luna. For a brief moment, Mortimer's neck fur rises a little- he expects the damned turtle to say something rude. "<Chewin' tobacco.. ...It's commonly called 'dip'. I'm kind of an addict. At my age, I get a couple vices. Y'know? But when it loses flavor, you spit it out. Kinda messy..>" Mortimer's fur lowers back down, breathing a small sigh of relief as Reder hops off his shoulder and up onto the table, so he can grab some food. "Heh, yeah.. Frankly I wouldn't mind havin' a pipe right now- I'm partial to Appaloosa tobacco these days- but y'know. We can at least pretend to be civilized men an' not a pair of salty old jarheads." "<Yeah.. I just get tired of doing it all the time. Do you have any idea how often crap like with your guards happens to me and the Sarge, when we go places? Half the time they don't even act personable about it, they're just all 'ahh giant fiery-badger man! Giant clawed talking turtle! They MUST be monsters!' I was too old for that crap when I hit my first millennium.>" Mort reaches down to fuzzle one of Reder's earfins. "Easy bro, just have some munchies." "<There's no meat.. I guess I should have expected that. Oh well.. Ooh, apple pie..>" Reder is distracted from further commentary by taking an entire pie, diving off the table, and eating it on the floor. He is, as one may expect, a bit of a messy eater.

Mortimer just shakes his head a bit. "Gracious me, is /that/ this world's Pinkie Pie?" A long pause, an oddly forlorn sort of stare, as though remembering some sort of tragedy. But whatever sorrow this had brought to mind is immediately displaced by Josuke's statement, or at least that's how it looks- "Yer the lad from the other night then! Well good t'meet you in the flesh, Josuke. Love the hairdo lad, looks absolutely /magnificent/. You humans're lucky to have hair that can be styled so many ways. So hey if that's Pinkie over there I'm bettin' this is all bein' catered by the Sugarcube Corner, the Cake family. I /know/ that'll be damn good stuff." He starts pouring himself a cup of punch and grabbing a plate to load with sweets and breads.
Josuke Higashikata This might have been easier if Josuke had been more susceptible to 'cute'. He might have gone 'squee' a little, but probably wouldn't have felt quite like he was tripping balls when he first entered the place. At least now Josuke seems a bit calmer, less freaked out by everything. And now he knows how Koichi felt, getting dragged along while he and Jotaro had their little Stand battle. Poor kid probably didn't have a clue what was going on...

Josuke notices that, yes. There's no food that includes meat here. But then, that makes sense, he realizes; horses are plant eaters in his world too. At least, he's never heard of a horse eating meat. So if the population are humanoid ponies, then it's likely they wouldn't eat meat either. It doesn't really bother him. And the party really does look amazingly normal, even given the population. More of a place to hang his hat, figuratively speaking.

And then Luna goes and splits into two. The tug gets his attention, and he looks in that direction... and does a double take. "Gah!" he all but squeaks. He looks back where Luna was a moment ago. Then back to the OTHER Luna, with the higher voice. "H-how did...?"

Fortunately he's distracted by it when Reder jumps onto a table, grabs a pie, and makes off with it. Josuke is noticeably relieved not to have the turtle so near him. Mortimer addresses him then, and Josuke nods. "Mhm." The mention of his hair? That gets a big smile. Probably the biggest he's offered thus far. And he can't help but reach up and give the hair a rather unnecessary adjustment from the sides. "Thanks," he says, sounding very pleased with the compliment. "Good to meet you too -- I'm sorry, I didn't hear your name, if you said it." He was a little too far away, thanks to avoiding Reder.

Though he does notice Mortimer's seeming familiarity with the place. "So, uh... have you been to this world before?" he asks. Half to make conversation, and half because he's looking for advice. And Mortimer just has that air of 'old guy who's been through about six hells in his lifetime and on any given morning has already dealt with three crises before you wiped your eyes and got out of bed'. Always the best type to get advice from!
Princess Luna      Little Luna blinks in surprise at Reder's explanation, then blushes softly again and coughs self-consciously. "Ah...of course." she says. She stares for a few moments as Reder just claims an entire pie, then she laughs. She gathers a plate of things for herself and nibbles as she listens to Mortimer and Josuke talk for a bit. She nods at Mortimer's question about Pinkie Pie, the blinks as she realizes he -hasn't- realized just what happened. That is when her newfound playful mischief side decides to mess with the fire badger despite hardly knowing him at all. "So, what dost thou think of this world's Princess Luna?" she asks Mortimer. If he was paying attention the smaller unicorn is obviously Luna in some form, but if he is not then this should be fun.

Josuke notices though, and Little Luna quickly raises a finger to her lips in a 'shhh' gesture. Meanwhile, he can continue to puzzle about this smaller unicorn Luna and the normal-looking one who is quickly being basically carried off by the crowd. "If my sister knew what I was doing, I would be in so much trouble." she whispers to Josuke before giggling a bit.
Mortimer Balman      Mortimer starts munching on a cupcake, sipping at the punch. He indeed, has not noticed just yet. "Oh aye, lad." Still talking to Josuke. "I /live/ in another instance of this world. In that world though, everyone's a full on pony. There's an odd magical effect- one that can be easily resisted- that gently encourages transformation of foreigners into appropriately.. Themed creatures, to the world. Some people turn into dragons, or griffons, most become ponies though. I myself fer whatever reason tend to get shifted into a fairly tall unicorn stallion. Fer my part it doesn't bother me, bugs some folks though. Anyway it's not unlike this world t'all! Lovely place to retire to.. ...First place I can say I've been able to call home in a terribly, terribly /long/ time." Reder briefly looked up, about to speak- he paused at seeing the smaller Luna, looked to the illusory one, then looked back. Shrugging, he just spoke, "<Yea. I was what, four years old when we left Grouda? Then yer family made us go seek our fortunes abroad when we got back from the War. Then.. How long were we in Contiki?>" "I dunno.. Less than ten years. I was wealthy fer.. Two years, then the business collapsed, then.. Yeah, we were there fer maybe six or seven." "<Yeah that's right! Because then you got the Spa, and that took a year and a half after the company went under!>"

Mortimer glances sidelong at Josuke and Luna, "Heh, sorry, time is.. Hard to keep track of past a certain.. ...Age?" Pause. Looking /down/ at Luna. Why is she shorter? ...Why is her voice coming from over.. There.. ...The normal looking Luna.. ...Back to Luna-lite. He briefly sniffs, twitching his nose at Diet Luna, and then blinks. "...Huhn. I didn't know you had magic like some of ours, Ladyship. That's pretty cool! You don't even look half-tired from it. Well, you are one of the /royals/ after all, so it makes sense.. So what do I think of you? I think y'seem okay so far. I've seen.. ...Less friendly versions of you, afore."
Josuke Higashikata     Josuke blinks when Mortimer doesn't seem to notice that Luna's kind of split herself off into apparently big and little forms. He's just about to to point it out, too. "...Um..." But then Luna's little 'shhh' gesture just then, and he blinks. The whispered explanation gets a nod. "Ohh, right. Gotcha," he whispers back. This is naturally a little more difficult for him, the whispering part, since his voice is lower. But he's not about to spoil Luna's fun!

While she asks Mortimer her question, Josuke gets a some punch and plate of food, to make sure he doesn't say anything to mess it up. Surprisingly his selection is pretty balanced between vegetables and sweets. Maybe odd for a human teenager, maybe not. But Josuke can just see his mother in the back of his mind, frowning if he picks more sweets than proper food. And his mother's displeased face is not one he likes to see.

Then Mortimer explains he lives in another instance of Equestria. That gets a blink. "There's another world like this one? Well, almost?" He heard the difference, about the ponies being quadrupedal there. "I think that would be weird, to know that there's another one of your world out there. Another Morioh would freak me out." Reder's sudden appearance gets a surprised, "GAH!" from Josuke, and there went his punch. Fortunately to the SIDE, and not in front of him or on himself.

He goes a little red in the face, and puts his plate down on a table nearby. "Aw, just <great>..." he mutters. Looking to Luna, "Sorry about that," he offers sheepishly, and picks up his cup. The punch is a lost cause; hopefully they weren't on a part of floor that would stain! Or perhaps it's not. From his place crouched on the ground, a purple aura springs to life around him, and a figure roughly six and a half feet tall, armored in crystal blue and bubblegum pink, springs up from Josuke's own body, it seems.

Without a word, Josuke hands the cup up to the figure, then stands. The figure seems to look at the cup in his hands, and then the punch he'd dropped actually lifts up off the ground, going back into the cup, both punch and cup glowing with an orange-gold aura. Josuke takes the cup back from the figure, then both the figure and the auras disappear. "There," he decides, picking his plate up again. "No wasted punch that way."
Princess Luna      Luna Lite smiles as Mortimer catches on and responds to her question. "Hast the Luna from thy world not displayed such abilities?" she asks, her smaller form definitely sounding younger as well. Perhaps this is what Luna looked like long ago, before becoming an alicorn? She doesn't have the ethereal mane, instead it's a pale blue that falls elegantly about her shoulders and a similarly colored tail. She is still wearing a long gown, but this one looks decidedly more...dated?

The larger Luna is now out of earshot, busily greeting and making small talk with the more posh of the guests. Little Luna seems quite happy to be with more subdued and genuine company, though. Josuke spilling his drink catches the attention of several nearby ponies even though Luna waves it off and smiles. "Such things happen. Do not wo-..." And then Josuke summons his Stand and it goes about displaying some magical powers that would be considered advanced unicorn magic. Luna blinks in surprise, then smiles. "Indeed! This is the first time I have seen such powers displayed by those outside my world." she says, pleasantly surprised.

Although Luna doesn't have much reaction to the summoned being other than some wide eyes, the ponies nearby yelp and back away. "A demon!" someone shouts, and...well, let's just say that even two-legged ponies can stampede. The panic of the nearby ponies quickly spreads through the room. Ponies start to run every whichway in a general away from Josuke direction.

Both little and big Luna seem startled by the other ponies being startled. As ponies start to crash into tables and through doorways and windows, the larger of the Luna's spreads her wings and rises into the air above the gathering.

     "BE STIIIIILL!!"

Her voice reverberates through the air, shaking the ground and rattling the windows and tables, and everypony is suddenly on their knees, too panicked to move.
Mortimer Balman      Mortimer shakes his head. "No, Ladyship- but I rarely travel to the Castle. I am often busy in Ponyville, I live just outside of town, between the edge of town and the Everfree. The Queens too are likewise often terribly busy people, what with Multiversal shennanigans being a constant. I have only seen yer counterpart on occasions when she feels a need to travel amongst the people- Nightmare Night, usually. I have had Queen Celestia visit me personally on two occasions, but only because-oop?" Mortimer chuckles a bit as Josuke jumps. "Reder give ya a start there lad? Try not to-oh.. Whoa. Cool!" He seems intrigued by Josuke's 'Stand'. Then the stampede begins.

Unlike the other ponies though he IS well aware of Luna's Voice, and he flattens his ears to the side of his head while she uses it. Reder's earfins do the same thing. "..Heh. Glad you did that so I didn't hafta." He looks at the cowering ponies and raises his hands a bit. "It's okay, people! I promise! He's not a /demon/, he's just /mythical/. Y'know, like unicorn magic! But diff'rent, because he's not /from/ this world." Hopefully this sort of logic would apply here as it did back home.
Josuke Higashikata Josuke has no idea that he's just caused an incident. He's not used to people being able to actually SEE Crazy Diamond, so he's used to just being able to do things and people not understand what happened, or maybe realize that something weird was going on, but not being able to see exactly what the weird is. Here, though, it appears that the ponies can see his Stand! As evidenced by someone screaming 'demon'. Josuke looks up, eyes wide and confused. "...Wha?" And of course Luna's command gets him to hunker down. He has a distinct feeling that he oopsed somehow.

It's actually Mortimer's reaction to the Stand that makes Josuke realize it -- they can SEE it! His eyes go wide again. "Ah! I-I'm sorry, I didn't know anybody could see it!" Mortimer's explanation gets a nod. "That's all it is," he confirms. "It's... it's not magic, but... it's LIKE magic. Sort of. But not really. That was just an extension of me, it wasn't a demon." Pause, he looks around. And then he bows deeply to the crowd. "...I'm really sorry! I didn't mean to scare anybody!"
Princess Luna      Little Luna and Big Luna both rub their foreheads in unison, then Big Luna holds up a hand just as guards start to pour in. "At ease, captain. There is no threat here. Just a multiversal visitor that displayed a power the good people of Canterlot are not used to seeing." The guard captain nods, then looks around. "It doesn't look like anyone was hurt, your highness. But, the guests did cause some damage to the room." he says.

The guests slowly start raising their heads, and Big Luna slowly floats back down to the ground. "Rise, my subjects. There is nothing to fear. We all know that we have many new neighbors from outside of our world and many have powers with which we are unfamiliar." she says, then looks toward Josuke. "Josuke, can that interesting spirit of thine repair this damage like it did that spill?" she asks, making her way through the crowd toward him, a forgiving smile on her face. Little Luna approaches her other half, and in a glow they merge again into normal Luna. "If so, then it would certainly be appreciated." She steps closer, then says just above a whisper to Josuke. "And would help set their minds at ease. Even if thou cannot repair it all at once, such a gesture can quickly turn the hearts of my kind and generous subjects."

People are starting to rise to their feet again, but they are still wary of Josuke and Mortimer.
Mortimer Balman      They're being slow to buy the idea. Mortimer's eyes dart to Josuke, no kid don't.. Sigh, say it's not magic. Oh well. That's okay, Luna is calming them down nonetheless. A murmur to Josuke after Luna's suggestion, "She ain't wrong, if that thing can even grab a broom and start sweeping it's good." A quick wink and he'd frown at the mess around the floor. "Well /this/ is gonna take forever to clean up.." All that punch spilled on the tiled floors. WASTED PUNCH. SACRILEGE. Sigh. He would also help clean a little bit, if only demonstrate he was helpful too- he could see that they were being just as nervous of him as they were of Josuke.

Mortimer holds his hand out to one of the larger punch puddles on the floor.. And frost begins to collect around it. Not by might of magic but by force of psychic will. The frost collects until the juice has been frozen into a single chunk of ice, which he dislodges from the floor without damaging the tiles, and then carries it over to the nearest window. After making sure nobody was in the way, he'd chuck the ice sheet into a bush, where it shattered harmlessly against the ground. No mess, no fuss. "I hope there's more to drink.." Reder crawls out from under his spot at the table, licking his claws clean of pie filling. "<Pity we didn't bring Roll along, Sarge. And Switch.>" "Aye, that'd have helped a bit.. Glad we didn't bring Ulbrecht though." "<We should bring him a spare pie to make it up to him.>" "Ooh, good idea."
Josuke Higashikata Josuke seems to relax a little when Luna calls the soldiers to not rush him. Getting dogpiled by guards, arrested, and thrown in a dungeon does not sound like a good way to spend a school night. Also how would he explain that to his mother? Most of the people of Morioh don't even KNOW about the Multiverse yet. Well, the Speedwagon Foundation does, but that's no surprise. Bleh.

Luna asks if he can help fix things, and he nods. "I can, sure!" he offers. "I'll need to bring... um, the other one back. He's not a demon. He's... a part of me," he explains. "My nephew called it a 'physical manifestation of my psychological energy'. So I guess it's like... psychic powers?" That may or may not help.

But! Once Mortimer starts cleaning up, Josuke does as well. He heads to the first broken table, food all over the place, and calls the aura again. This time the figure is slower to appear, as if 'peeking' out of Josuke first before making his appearance.

This time the fixing goes a little differently. Josuke looks at the crowd. "Um... okay, I need to do something that might seem violent and destructive, but it's not," he warns. "Just the opposite, in fact." Once he's given the ponies around him enough time to soak that in, he lets Crazy Diamond get close to the table. The figure seems to float over the ground a few inches.

And sure enough, just as Josuke said, the figure punches downwards at the table, with a loud cry of "DOURRRA!" If it does hit, pieces of the table -- and the food -- will fly up into the air. But if this happens, instead of just going everywhere, everything seems caught by an orange-gold aura. And as the pink-and-blue figure draws back, the pieces of the table -- and yes, the food as well -- start to fit themselves back together.

All throughout this process, Josuke has his eyes on the task at hand. Don't get distracted, don't get istracted, don't get distracted, don't think about how scared of you everyone is, don't get distracted...
Princess Luna      The ponies in attendance seem cautious and skeptical as the two men get to work. Mortimer displaying that frost power and using it to freeze a puddle and throw it out sets the foundation for Josuke. Which is a good thing, because Josuke starts of with something startling. Crazy Diamond punches the ground with startling force, and it almost sends the ponies back into a panic. Until all those food items and furniture start floating up and reforming and resetting.

It's the sort of power that only the alicorns or Twilight Sparkle have displayed, and it quickly leaves the crowd in awe. Josuke can soon hear murmurs of amazement and happiness as he steadily returns the room to the state it was in before the stampede. The room is quiet other than those hushed murmurs until he is done, and Luna is smiling lightly as she watches. It is impressive, even to her.
Mortimer Balman      Reder hops out of the way, watching as the food and drinks and everything else is just.. /Reversed/ back into shape. "<Duuuude did you seriously just do that like, with psychic projection alone? That is baller as /Hell/, man. Even our butler can't go do stuff on a scale like that!>" The little wartortle holds up his claw in a fist-like shape to Josuke, apparently offering and indeed, expecting, a brofist for that magnificent display of psychic prowess.

Mortimer laughs a bit. "Gwaha! Amazing job, young man! I applaud." A few short claps to Josuke's display. "An' yeah Reder's right, Switchbait's got skills but at most he could p'raps control a few mops an' brooms simultaneously, not.. Do /that/, that was very impressive." He was glad he wouldn't have to do much more after that, to demonstrate how much of a not-threat he and the boy were to these people. All is well that ends well. "Fast thinkin' there, Ladyship.. Good on that, aye?" Quietly murmured to Luna while encouraging focus on Josuke's awesomeness.
Josuke Higashikata Josuke has a look of fierce concentration on his face while the room returns to normal. He is desperately trying not to get too distracted, so as not to botch this repair job. Finally, though, it's done, and Josuke sighs in relief. He is quick to dismiss Crazy Diamond, so as not to keep the Stand around any longer than he has to. And he... kind of looks sheepish all of a sudden. "I'm sorry," he says again, bowing to Luna this time. It's her house, right? "I didn't think anybody could see <Crazy Diamond>, and I didn't realize he was going to cause that much trouble."

And then suddenly there's Reder! Josuke gives a strangled "Ghhk!" sound, one of his eyes twitching. But hey! Be polite, even if you're scared! So, there is a moment of hesitation, and... yes, he does give the tiniest fistbump. "Uh... th-thanks," he replies. He's really trying!

Mortimer's words get his attention, and Josuke looks up. "<Crazy Diamond> can do that. I have to be careful though... if I don't stay focused, I mess it up. I probably don't have to tell you that can be a disaster." And he also nods! "That was a good idea. And I started the trouble, right? So I should fix it."
Princess Luna      Luna blushes a bit and smiles at the praise from her two companions, then rests a hand on Josuke's shoulder. "Well, whatever difficulties stand in thy way when you use your 'Crazy Diamond', thy efforts are both impressive and appreciated, and-" Luna is interrupted as highly impressed oohs and ahs flow from the crowd, and many approach Josuke to ask about his power and what he can do with it. The event seems forgiven as quickly as it happened, and the party even returns to normal thanks to all the food and decorations being restored. The music starts up again, and a disco ball lowers from the ceiling and showers the area in stars of light.

And the most enthusiastic of his new admirers by far is the pink pony girl with the cotton candy mane. "Wow! That was super duper awesome! Even I can't fix a party that fast!" she says, then gives Josuke a biiiig hug before bouncing away. "Good job, Mr. Good Demon Guy!" she exclaims as she skips off and picks up a pie, then like some kind of cartoon character gulps down the entire thing in one bite. Luna giggles a bit then gives Josuke a hug around the shoulders. "I belive it is safe to say that thy unintentional instigation of trouble has been forgiven." she says.
Mortimer Balman      Mortimer's eyes follow the cotton candy maned pony girl. Half in bemusement, half with a sad smile. A bad memory coming back to haunt him.. But the look fades again. "It's good to see some things don't change too much across realities.." A small smile as she passes him by. He needed to go visit with 'his' Pinkie later, now that he thought about it. One of these days she was going to realize he'd never once had a birthday party and probably pop out of his linen closet- again- and throw a fit. Again.

Reder hops over to climb back up onto Mortimer's shoulder. "<Mn.. We should probably find a place to get a nap for the night, Sarge. We're not getting back tonight and it'll be a cold day in Victini's Furnace before I sleep on a train.>" "Aye, probably a good idea. I wonder if the inns we've stayed at in our Canterlot exist here, too.."
Josuke Higashikata Josuke's clearly nervous with that many people around him. But he manages well enough. He'll try to field what questions he can, though he doesn't really understand it super-well himself. Crazy Diamond has been a part of him since he was little. All he really knows is it's a psychic manifestation of himself somehow. His world be weird, yo. Bizarre, in fact. And hey! Disco ball! That's always awesome!

When the perpetually bouncy pink bundle of energy known as Pinkie Pie approaches, he offers a sheepish smile. He seems calmer now, so he's more easily able to deal with 'suddenly PINKIE!' And in this case, it's 'suddenly PINKIE HUGS!' Josuke actually blushes a little at the hug! "Thank you. Glad to help!" he calls as she departs. Though he does blink a little at the consuming of the pie so quickly. Luna's hug also gets a little bit of a blush! He IS a teenager, and Luna's a pretty lady. He nods to her words. "Seems like it." A quiet sigh. "That's a relief."

Now, Josuke notes the sad smile from Mortimer when looking at the pink pony. There's a story behind that, he knows. But this isn't the time or place to ask. Besides, he doesn't know Mortimer well enough to ask something clearly so personal. Instead, he tries redirection. "How did you do the ice?" Yes, he'd seen that. Concentration doesn't mean ignoring everything. "I don't think I've ever seen anybody do anything like that before." And he hadn't. Lifting things, punching things -- all that, yes. But never simply forming ice. That would be really useful!

Oh crap, there's Reder! Keep it together, Josuke! Honestly, he's starting to calm down around Reder, so he doesn't jump out of his skin this time. The suggestion that it might be late gets a wince. "Oh yikes! I hope it's not too late, it's a school night. Mom will MURDER me if I'm late for school tomorrow."
Princess Luna      After mobbing Josuke with questions - and Mortimer to a lesser extent - the party starts to wind down. It wasn't a formal gathering after all, and it is getting late. The more classy of the ponies start to file out, thanking Luna for a lovely time. But, the more common ponies decide to take over after that, and DJ PON-3 soon has the dubstep going. The party quickly turns toward a rave, and Luna doesn't seem to mind at all. Night raves are something she quickly came to appreciate, being the princess of nighttime.

But, as Mortimer and Josuke mention it, Luna realizes how late it is. "Oh dear. Well, thank thee both for attending. It was an honor to meet the both of you. And please, do not hesitate to visit again." she says. She smiles warmly to Morty and Jo, then curtseys elegantly. "I must remain here, but the inns will have plenty of room for thee. And please, if thou wishes, take some food. There is far too much for even Pinkie Pie to fully consume in one night."
