Alice Margatroid     It's been a while since Alice was heard from with the whole incident with the Multiverse breaking apart and remaking itself from what it seemed. After taking stock of everything she had and making sure the Human Village was okay, she just hid out in the forest until things were finally calm. Though she couldn't stay there forever, the rest of the Multiverse was calling and she was bound to explore it in search of a few things. Its here she was reminded of one of her 'friends'...

She waits outside the Warp Gate to Kotone's world, the Dollmaker's in her normal clothing, the blue and white contrasting with the black and grey of the area she's in. She's also made contacts with a couple of others that she considered friends... so if Kotone wasn't available, at least she'd have company... and in this case, the more the merrier. Hourai and Shanghai float behind the Dollmaker's back, concerned looks on their faces as they inspect the area visually. This place was so out of touch with what they knew...
Yuna Kagurazaka All things considered, Yuna thinks as she makes her way towards the warpgate where Alice is waiting, maybe she should have just come in her Light Suit.

It's not that she doesn't have that option - Elner's with her, and Erina is tagging along (currently in her human guise) because flying is always a handy ability around the denizens of Gensokyo. But until Yuna knows more clearly what the situation is going to be, she's dressed ... well, if not in 'civilian clothes,' then at least not like she's ready to pull out a weapon and start trying to lay the smack down on something. So her Savior of Light 'uniform' it is - and she's being careful about where she steps and what (if anything) she climbs on.

"Hey Alice ... and Hourai and Shanghai, right?" Yuna greets the dollmaker and her two 'escorts,' smiling and waving to all three of them.
Tomoyo Daidouji     Tomoyo was very relieved to hear from Alice! Not because she was scared that she might have been hurt in the Reality Quakes, but because she was scared that the magician might be regressing into her NEET lifestyle again. Hearing that she planned to be out and about again did the tailor's heart good.

She arrives right on time, wearing a powder blue dress with riding boods and her hair done in a ponytail. No bodyguards today... did she give them the slip, or did they trust Alice with her that much? "Alice, Shanghai, Hourai~ It's good to see you all again, it's been far too long." She wears her fondest smile as she glances at Yuna, nodding to her also. She then looks over the technological cityscape. "So, what are we up to today?"
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa had a odd request from Alice, whom she'd not heard from since before the Multiverse went kaboom and the mega factions fell. She was happy to hear the Dollmaker was alive and well though and well she was happy to help them out. She'd hit up Miho who was now CEO of what was left of the company she had worked for. The factoty ship had been recovered with a deal and she'd been operating in Japanese waters as of late to show yes they were not trying to do undue things any lnger. ^R
She looks at the dwo dolls nad eveyrone else who had gathered.

"Hey Alice, Yuna and ... I didn't expect to see you here Tomoyo?"

The dolls get a nod from Kotone too.

"Going to be checking out Mordran Solace, the company my cousin Miho is now the CEO of, It's not what it was before but she's still got things going even if R&D.

Kotone was dresse in some fairly high tech cloting and semed to be in a good mood as she gestured for everyone to follow her.

"I have a ride waiting for us and to be more detaild it's a factory ship for producing androids and cyberentics is what we're going to tour. You might not guess it but artists are n demand for sclupting prosethics parts and androids."
Alice Margatroid     Almost as soon as Yuna and Tomoyo entered, Hourai and Shanghai are at their sides, giving them a hug on the arm each. "That's right, Yuna." she gives a small wave towards the two, "I... am glad to see that both of you are okay, I haven't left Gensokyo in a long time... and I thought I'd explore this... magicless place. There are supposedly dolls here that... move without magic, move without strings... think and feel for themselves." she explains towards Tomoyo.

Wait, where were they? "Either they trust me more than I expected or you gave them a bit of youkai slipping. Either way, it's good to see you both." she stretches a bit, "We're waiting for Kotone to show up, she said she had a place to show me, but I figured that if either she didn't show, we could just have lunch together... or if she did show, we can explore this place together.

Speaking of the devil in disguise, she gives an idle wave to Kotone. "It's been a while. Thank you for letting me come on a short notice, I think Marisa would have flown the coop if I didn't get out some..."
Tomoyo Daidouji     Tomoyo pats the doll hugging her arm on the head as she bows her own to Kotone. "Alice is a friend. I go where she goes," she says in response to the cyborg's query. As the magician explains her reason for being here, it all falls into place in Tomoyo's mind. "What a wonderful idea~ Using ideas from other worlds will no-doubt lead to a breakthrough in your research."

As the cyborg explains where they'll be going, Tomoyo's own eyes light up with interest. "Augmented aesthetics... I suppose that once they reach a certain level of societal saturation, designer models would come out..." Her brain is buzzing with business strategies as they get into the ride for the factory!
Yuna Kagurazaka Yuna snugs the doll back gently (with the arm that isn't already being hugged), but lets go without lingering too long. "Hey Tomoyo, Kotone!" she greets the others as they arrive. "Good to see you both again as well!"

Dolls who move without magic? Yuna can't help but look at Elner (who, as always, looks like a tiny robotic faerie) and Erina (who looks as human as Yuna herself, at the moment). Then again, even Yuna herself isn't sure how supernatural the Matrix of Light is; given that they Queen of Light created them, Yuna isn't sure there *isn't* some supernatural power at work in their systems ... particularly given the way they can transform and combine. Mundane technology like androids or such is probably much more like what Alice is looking for, yes.

"So what kind of androids?" Yuna inquires, falling into step behind Kotone. "Basic labor units, domestic support, public relations and assistance ... ?"
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa Says "This is true also people may want to have their orginal face or a new one, and don't wish it to fall into the uncanny velly now do they? There's not many shockingly who are at the top of the field in Japan most of them are over in Africa, Europe or the Americas."

She grins a little bit though and sems to be in good spirits as she'll guide everyone to the car and get in she'll make sure everyone is secured and buckled upbefore she gets ready to depart. She'll however pull cables out of the back of her neck and pluginto the uint.

"Those sots but also 'companion' model. Before you ask she's watching for any signs of ghosts anything that remotely looks like it is being pulled from sale."

From how she says companion it may be best to not poke further.

"Inspertion from other cultures tends to do a lot. One culture's way of thinking might let them see problem another might not."

The drive is uneventful but the group would get a look at the very high tech city which used a lot of holo displays and other such thing as they got near the harbor where Kotone would head for one of the docks with the factory ship looming near s she pulled it to a hault.

"I have let Miho know where here and she's curious to meet more people from the multivese. So Any questions?"
Alice Margatroid     Alice blinks, "Uncanny Valley?" she shakes her head a bit and eyes the car... "Is.... what is this thing?" as she moves in with the rest to get into the vehicle. When it starts moving, she clings to anything she can get her hands on. "H.. how is this moving without someone pulling it?!"

Hint: There are no cars in Gensokyo.

She does listen to everyone around, hmming a bit before looking out the window, the interesting skyline... full of neon and gray... "I can't see the sky here. Nor can I see any trees. Is it all.. just buildings and strange devices littering the view?" comes a possibly hurtful question. "I did have... a few questions, like what some of these dolls are... and how they gain their sentience and free will..."
Tomoyo Daidouji     Tomoyo knows visual aesthetic, so she decides to answer Alice's first question herself. "Uncanny Valley is when something is made to look too close to human without looking fully human inspires revulsion in people. Things that look closer to human inspire more familiar feelings in people than things that don't look human. But when it hits that point of 'close but not quite human,' people become disgusted by it. It's an issue that comes up often in robotics~"

She looks out at the advanced cityscape with a bit of wonder. She is an urban girl, but one raised in a small town just outside Tokyo. A massive metropolitan area like this is still kind of alien to her. "I can't believe it can be so bright this late..." she murmurs. Ah, but questions. She has a lot honestly, but she picks two. "How many people willingly augment themselves for fashion or function? Is amputation for nonmedical reasons just for such augments common?"
Yuna Kagurazaka Tomoyo beats Yuna to explaining the Uncanny Valley, leaving the blonde with little to do except nod in agreement. She's settled into a seat as well; Elner is too small to need a full seat, conveniently enough. If there's a spare seat for Erina, she buckles in (probably behind Yuna, or otherwise out of the way); otherwise, the android ...

Well. She *is* an android. Erina can just fly under her own power if necessary, or stay out of the area if there are worries about her android nature drawing the wrong kind of attention.

"You said Miho's the one in charge of the company now - Mordran Solace, I think you said ... what's the company focusing on now? Anything specific, or are they just working out designs to see what they can bring to market with a reasonable expectation of securing a fairly profitable foothold?"
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "It's a term for when something looks almost right but is off enough that most people pick up on it and feel uncomfortable about it. You know where something's just off enough for people to notice. As for that this is the down town core there's not much plant life and this wasn't even a natural island, it's man made to be exact. As for that here in japan? Three out of every four people have the basic cyberbrain agumentation or more. Those that don't generally are too young, do not have the money or have relgious reasons against using it generally. Beyond the basics to function some people do go all out, there's a ... decent market for it. Some people crave power, do it for work otherwise hack something healthy off. I'm not going to defend that sort of behaviour and if your wondering? It was medical for me."

has Kotone heads for the boat to lead everyone aboard she notes to Yuna.

"White Collar functions, some industital and companion units as I said. They re toying with that but she's scaled somethings back."

A woman with brown hair and in a suit greets the group flanekd by two men with the tradtional MIB look.

"Ah welcome Miss Yamawaka. We are expectingy ou and your guests. Your cousin has set up a toury of the ship as well and will be meeting us once we get to the main production floor."

She'll gesture to have the group board the ship and will lead them towards one of the production bays.
Alice Margatroid     Alice takes in all the information and she hmms, staying silent in this endeavour for a bit. Hourai and Shanghai move to sit upon Yuna's and Tomoyo's shoulder respectively, while the dollmaker idly floats by, walking is for normal people. Though, with all the lights and knowledge coming to her, she can't help but to scratch her head at some of this. "Are... you saying that these dolls used to be human?" a quick look to Hourai and Shanghai... then back to Kotone.

"If that's true, how long did they live before they became these dolls? Hundreds? Thousands of years?" she looks between everyone, including Kotone. Though, when the group meets that woman, Alice bows slightly, "I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to give us a look." she comments, then tilts her head, "Production Floor?"
Tomoyo Daidouji     Tomoyo listens to Kotone's answer. Three out of four is a significant number of people, even before you account for population growth. Although it sounds like it's mostly limited to neural implants. Not much point in designed versions of those, no one is going to see them.

As they arrive, she climbs out and bows to the woman and her guards. A kindred spirit. "Thank you for welcoming us to your facility. I'm Tomoyo Daidouji~" She... does not answer Alice's questions this time. This is heading into some heavy territory, and someone like Kotone, who has actually experienced the issue would be better to explain it.
Yuna Kagurazaka "I think, rather than 'dolls,' the word we'd use is 'cyborgs,'" Yuna explains quietly to Alice. Granted, Gensokho doesn't really have cybernetic implants or augmentations, so .. "People who are using specially designed 'doll' parts to help them function as regular humans, or sometimes better."

Again, Kotone's probably the best-qualified to answer that one. Besides, they're here. Yuna smiles, bowing politely to Miho. "I'm Yuna Kagurazaka; it's a great pleasure to be here! I'm looking forward to the tour."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa will likely give Tomoyo more information later as she does sense hte girkls' intrest even if she couldn't make the cyberware if she could scupt say faces to a high level of quaity? That could very well put her in demand she muses but fort now she seems to be following along.

"I'm human still even if all my body is mechanical you know. "A Android is basically just an empty shell with programing to run it. There's ... no one home generally save in very rare situations like what happen with Sasiki and Miho."

She notes sh thinks for a while " The tech's new I'm older than mostof it to be honest as for life span dunno what my limit is other than more than it used to be."

the group is taken to the floor The woman who is leading them grins faintly at Tomoyo the young lady is quite polite and she likes that.

"Where we produce many of the parts for androids and Prosethics."

She notes and will go off to find Miho the group would see factorty lines with machinery cugging alone putting together humanoid body parts, in sizable numbers this isn't a assembly room but people would see limbs, torsos and scores of other parts being produced in here as a woman in suit comes towad them. The woman ius clearly Japanes and to those involved with the last incident on Kotone's home world they would /see/ that it's Miho Yamakawa.

"It's good to see you Cousin I see you have brought some friends welcome to my ship I'm hopeful you will find your time here a learning experiance and I'll do my best to explain things for you if yournot used to the concepts of the technology here."
Tomoyo Daidouji     Tomoyo is a lot more eager for this than her serene deposition would imply. It only cracks a little when they reach the means of production. She looks on in wonder as she watches the conveyer belts move the parts under construction to be completed and packed. Having a factory like this one day would be a dream...

Ah, but where are her manners? Kotone's cousin is here. Tomoyo bows to her and says, "Thank you for having us~ I'm Tomoyo Daidouji. I must say, this factory in incredible. How did you get into this business?"
Alice Margatroid     Alice blinks. Still human with the body of a mechanical being. "That doesn't make sense... Human with the body of a not human. It's... almost as if you're a youkai in of yourself." Alice gets a very confused look upon her face, looking around the area. Though, with Miho giving the comforting phrase of explaining things, she gives a less... confused look. "I see, well... I have a lot of questions, maybe some without answers."

She does bow, "The Kappa would look at all this and feel right at home. And Marisa would probably steal from here." she shakes her head, "Best not let her know I'm here." a pause, "Pardon, I'm Alice Margatroid. The dolls on my friends shoulders are Hourai and Shanghai, I made them."

Hourai and Shanghai bow before floating around Miho slowly, then they return to their 'seats' and wave towards her. "Though, I'm highly interested in things around here..."
Yuna Kagurazaka It's quite a bit more complicated than 'youkai,' thinks Yuna, but then, Alice doesn't have the same set of knowledge that some of the others here do - less groundwork to understand stuff like cybernetic augmentation. And then again, Yuna thinks with a glance at Elner, when technology is far enough ahead of somebody's understanding, it can only seem supernatural.

For now, the blonde idol seems content to look around at the factory, stay away from anything that looks either dangerous or delicate (which probably narrows it down a LOT), and listen in case anything comes up that she can ask questions about.
Kotone Yamakawa Miho grins a bit. "Ah good to meet you as well." She returns the bow and then answers. "I was into robotics as my cousin is in to making things that go very fast." Kotone makes a face.

"Hey My dad got me into mechanical work I also liketo think my work makes things a bit better."

Kotone nods and she looks for a moment.

"Maybe we're just missing something culturewise?"

Miho mean whiles grins a little bit at the group.

"I see Miss Margatroid. Greetings to you Hourai and Shanghai. So as you can see here this is where we pdoduced our basic androdi pars the actual prosetics are produced elsewhereon the ship. Miho will go on explaining about the basics of androids how they are build how they are an off shoot of cyberentics. She also goes onabout how Adroids while very advanced do not have Ghosts or Souls as onemight put it and while they can detect such andshe does watch for Androids that have such? She's yet to see it ... happen naturtally. She acts like she knows more but doesn't want to talk about it.
Tomoyo Daidouji     Tomoyo produces a notebook and pen and begins to take fast dictation from Miho as to the nature of robots and Ghosts. So they just gain sapience from... nowhere? She expects that those that do have already been examined thoroughly for cause, so she has a question. "I'm curious; what rights are the governments giving these robots who have Ghosts? Are they treated as equal citizens, or still like machines, property?"
