Millium Argent      It's been a long while since one Millium Argent assembled a crack team to man a Guild borrowed submarine and plumb the depths of the ocean far off from the mainland. These were the coordinates given by one CYGNUS; AI of the New Humanity Project.

It never was made clear why thh New Humanity Project was needed, but frankly, it probably had something to do with Code: Paradise. Not that he had the clearance to speak of it at all.

But that is that, and this is this. Now... why in the nine hells did it take Millium so long to get back to this? Well...

"Ahehehehe... well you see, I have to hold a concert in Vaygara...and then there was one in Meridian, and then I took a trip over to Gale and then after that, I-"

Claire looks up from where she sits at her station on the bridge of the submarine they've borrowed again(after a stern talking to a repairs made). "Who in the world are you talking to?" She asks the girl sitting in the captain's seat. That rouses Milly out of her daydream.

"Eh? Wha? Huh?" Blink blink. "Oh! Uh... No one! Just...haha- yeah! Nothing! Nothing at all!" She waves a hand frantically and moves on. "So uh- are we there yet?"

Claire rolls her eyes and glances down at the screen of the console she's seated at. "Just about. A couple more minutes. Get ready." And she looks out across the bridge at the others too, "And that goes for the rest of you crazy people too."
Genji Shimada     Don't be silly, Claire.

The cyborg ninja totally isn't crazy.

He is perfectly calm and peaceful! Look at him, staring out a porthole into the inky depths of the ocean. He's utterly relaxed! Nothing crazy there.

Well, except the fact he's, y'know, a man missing 80% of his body. But that doesn't seem to hinder him!

"I am always ready," Genji replies to Claire, in a grave, serious voice. Those who have met him can tell he's putting it on.
William Pauwel Hey! Will's not cr--

...

........

no we really can't defend that

"Hey Milly, y'all don't have us on camera right now, do you?" Will is leaning vaguely into the space Millium was narrating into. She WAS sort of... Talking to an audience then, wasn't she? "Well. If they're watchin', hi grandma and grandpa! I'll be home later on in the week, so we'll see y'all soon!"

Well. He's energetic at least.

And so is his gun. Judgment's light glows steadily from its place on his hip. It looks eager.
August Kohler August is here, dressed in a raincoat. Because they're underwater. Also has a shard of glass because he needs a new gun and has either forgotten or refused to go get a new one! After both Milly and Will finish talking at the air, August turns towards its direction, speaking quietly. "Little did they know that this voyage was doomed. The last survivor, found barely able to talk, would speak of horrifying, terrible creatures inside, writhing tentacles and fangs the size of men. How could have they known?"

And then after August's naration, he begins heading for where the entrance will be, looking at the others. "Ready."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa Was decked out for adventure and trouble clad in her optic cameo armour and had a few other bits of gear visable on her. Including two weapons a as well she was ready for trouble for the most part from the looks of it.

"I'm as ready as I'm ever going to be with this."

She's Also got a few small scout drones with her. Basically mobile cameras but they may not be reliable.

She pauses at August for a moment stares and says nothing to him on his outfit.

"Ready here."
Millium Argent      Claire mightily resist the urge to facepalm. Both at Genji's totally edginess and Will's.... Willness. And then there's August. She glares dully in his direction. "Little did he know that he would be the first to go. Used as bait and devoured in an instant by the raging hellbeasts lurking in the depths." Finished with that, Claire does not however move to get ready herself. She remains seated at her space. ...What? She's not going to follow you crazies and get blown up or drowned or something. Nope. Not her.

"Hey, no, of course not!" Millium shoots back to Will, smiling goofily. "I'm not some kind of idiot who has her Chaser Adventures recorded in real time for a reality TV show called 'Milly's Million Missions'!"

     Pause.

"No really, I don't." As she says this though, she's worryingly the one steering the damn submarine. And indeed, as the seconds pass, the silhouette of lost city becomes visible through the murky water. It's actually a network of domed cities, which makes it much easier for navigation. The only question is...

"Hnn...how to get in...?" Millium mumbles aloud, approaching the nearest dome andscouring the perimeter. "Huh... Can't find a way in! Well that's just-" BEEP. Suddenly, the blonde's armlets and anklets fade into sight once they approach a certain spot that looks like a gate. "-Oh, uh..." Millium looks down at herself, then at the screen showing the gate as it slides aside, allowing their continued passage into the dome. "-Better not look a gift horse in the mouth!" Shaking her head, she steers the sub through the gate as it closes behind the craft, and then... "We go up, and then.... Wala~ We are IN!"

A fist is triumphantly thrown to the air as they finish docking safely, the top of the submarine emerging from the water into...oh, hey, breathable air. How about that? This place is still functioning. That's kind of crazy, but okay.

Once everyone is ready and head up and out the upper deck of the craft, they will come out to some sort of undersea dock, leading deeper into the facility frm the sea gate they just accessed. Nothing is here to stop them. Curiously, the gate that leads into this dome's facilities proper appears to be already opened halfway. The hinges look to be dented in places, as it it were forcibly pulled aside.
Genji Shimada     Genji's head tilts faintly, regarding Claire and August.

"It was unfortunate that none of them had remained at the submarine. Had they done so... tragedy might have been averted."

It is implssible for a twinkle in someone's eye to carry through an opaque, glowing-green visor. But you can imagine it.

Despite his faux gruffness, Genji is serious enough about exiting the sub - he does so in a quick flip into a rolling crouch, planting with one hand behind his back and the other holding a trio of shuriken. When nothing attacks, he relaxes and stands up... slowly. "I will scout ahead. If there is anything of note, or I am attacked, I will stop where I am and call everyone."

    And so he does.
William Pauwel "..." Will squints at Milly's extraordinarily specific denial. "Milly, if y'all have us on a TV show, we're gettin' paid for the screentime, right?" No, because there were no contracts signed. That means everyone here is getting screwed. LAWYERS! LITIGATION! LAWSUUUUUIIITS!

"I'm pretty sure stayin' at the submarine is just askin' for somekind of awful hook-handed monster to show up and kill you at a dramatic moment," he comments in Genji's general direction, but quietly unlimbers his favorite gun and steps forward to start taking point. "Alright y'all. Stay on your toes. Keep an eye out for anything weird in the dark."

Like coral.

Damn coral.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa Seems to be the only one not really causing Claire some kind of mental anguish and she may hopefully keep doing that?

"...that sort of thing has happened on my world Milly. Are you seriously doing that?"

She catches it's a joke a momentlater and laughs. She also fires up a multiveral search engine to run checks for antthing milly might be posting on line. Just to be /certain/.

Kotone willmove out with the rest of the party as they move to get insidr the dome.

"If I see one bit of that damn coral..."

She gives Will a look who may be thinking about the same damn Coral that she is.
August Kohler August just replies to Claire with, "It's a shame that as the sole survivor, she would never recover. Broken, forever forced to remember the dark tragedy." And then the redhead exits through the door when they head out, flicking his mirror shard around in his hand as he speaks to the others. "Be on guard. It's entirely possible that my fire powers might be weakened, and that'll /suck/."
Millium Argent      Claire rolls her eyes. "Safer than being with you people." She's really not going. At least, not until Millium grabs her by the arm. "Alright, let's get a move on, Claire! Time to see what's going on out here! Let's make a new legend! Yeah!"

She cheers and hauls the poor, sane girl up and out of the sub with the others. "Hey, what the- Let go of me, you stupid-" She just barely has time to snag her laptop from another seat before they're up and out.

Guess she's coming after all. Thanks Milly!

And with everyone prepare and out, it's time to head off! Genji strikes out first to scout. Good plan. Becaue Millium certainly isn't planning. Not one bit. The extend of her planning is 'Do the thing'.

     Yeah.

He'll find himself heading down a narrow hallway, dimly lit by faint and flickering auxiliary red lights, the hall eventually comes out into a common area with a virtual map on display. It's kind of garbled in places with junk pixels. But it's mostly readable. Looks like they're in Research Dome #11, and that there are multiple areas to head to. In the other three cardinal directions generally.

North is 'Special Research', East is 'Robotics', and West is actually part of the garbled, junk pixels, making it impossible to make out...

There are also red dots on the map that seem to be moving on the map in all visible wings. One is approaching the common area from the Robotics wing. That can't be good.

Neither can the *whiiirrrrr* *thunk* *whirrrrr* *thunk* that sounds in the distance, getting closer and closer as the dot on the map does.

Millium meanwhile plods on down the hall Genji just cleared with the others at a more measured pace, looking over the coordinates on a VR map of her own created from SERAPH's energy. ...It's just a blinking blue dot that leads to somewhere inside. It has literally no other details. "Hmmm... I guess we'll have to dig a lot deeper to find exactly where we need to be... Bah. Why is it never easy?" She groans, slumping her shoulders a bit.

Claire just brings up the rear, laptop tucked under an arm and she grumbles to herself. She really needs to consider getting a desk job. 'Babysitter' is turning out to be not worth the effort at all. But alas. She must. Life isn't fair.
Genji Shimada     Genji takes a few moments to familiarize himself with the map, before deciphering the fact that there might be some sort of possible hostile on the way. Red blip, moving this way - at the very least, it's worth concealing himself to wait and see.

So that's what the shinobi does, seeking a suitable hiding place even if it requires superhuman agility to use. All the lights on his suit wink out; he's not going to give himself away /that/ easily. But he does keep shuriken ready, just in case.
William Pauwel Will was already on the move. His weapon crackled and popped, arcing bolts of lightning across an invisible field of electromagnetism. Nothing to fire at yet, but there's no reason not to get ready. "'Course it's not easy. We've got a whole facility to peel through; it'd spoil the adventure iff'n the treasure was right in the middle of the first room! At least, it would unless the treasure was hidin' a giant monster or somethin'."

Beat.

"Let's keep going," Will says, quietly gesturing down a corridor. "If the map's right... What we're lookin' for is... /probably/ somewhere in here."
Kotone Yamakawa The group pushes in. Kotone is chekcing for wireless that she may be able to access. he's heading east for the robotics now she knows machinery and maihg be able to have something. she's going to end up cloaking though as she heds on to just be sure. She knows there' toruble though and she'll attempt to send Genji a ping to share map data if he's able to do so with her own hardware.
Millium Argent      There is.... *a* network for Kotone to access. But it's also under heavy lock and key. With basic access, she can bring up a map, and information on each wing. Though oddly, the west wing is <redacted>. Robotics is for general purpose maintenance and development of domestic and combat robots to run and guard the facility, along with minor weapons development. Special Research is blank. ...Weird. Judging by the log, it was erased very recently. Terribly curious. But that gives them two questionable places to head. North and West.

Kotone's cloaking does the job, and she'll need it because soon enough, that patrol bot is moving past her. It's about twenty feet tall, and adorned in bulky steel armor plating, with a single green eye swiveling in the center of its circular head. Its also armed with an array of firearms. You know. Just an afterthought.

That green eye sweeps the hallway, lingering on Kotone's position for a moment. ...It zooms in, and then out. Then just proceeds on past her. Lucky girl. But now it's walking into the common area. Its a sterile white area, but it's lined with chairs and couches, clearly some sort of rest and social area. There are also bends in the walls that make the large room not quite as uniform as it could be. What results are a good number of hiding places. Which is good because that thing looks like it would waste a lot of time to fight.

     *Whiiiiirrr* *thunk* *whiiirrrrr* *thunk*

It lumbers into the common area, sweeping for intruders diligently, firearms at the ready.

...And Millium and Claire are both hiding behind a couch. No thank you. Not gonna fight a huge bulky robot today, thanks! She justs wants to get to the coordinates!
Genji Shimada     There is a very certain blind spot in the perception of most humans, caused not by any physical defect but rather by a lifetime of unintentional psychological conditioning. Generally speaking, most people are incapable of hiding anywhere but at ground level. Under things, inside things, behind things- the vast majority of times, someone searching for an intruder will only have to look 'around' in order to find an interloper.

Which is why just about nobody looks up.

Not only is Genji Shimada tucked into one of the bends in the wall, he is tucked into it near the ceiling, clinging there and waiting for the robotic guardian to go by. He's waiting, in specific, for an opening. For the moment that robotic eye goes /past/ his rough direction.

It'll give him the longest possible amount of time to drop silently to the ground, dart behind the robot, and go dashing down the corridor said robot just came from.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa sees how locked down things are she doesn't have a dummy barrier handy so she's darn well going to be careful from this point on. She's alreayd moving to get the basic map and the rest of the data here she'll pass on to eveyrone else. She pauses for a moment.

<<Odd someone purged data nad it's recent like really /recent/. I think someone else has been here.>>

She keeps moving as she works the system and she's very lucky she avoids a horribly huge robot thing that hopes she won't have to fight it.

She make sure to keep notes the thing an doesn't breath, even though it's more something she doesn't need to worry too much about. She manges to press on and star to explore more and hopefully find somerhing else useful.
William Pauwel Where there is a ruin, there is almost certainly some kind of giant robot lurking around with way too many guns. Will has seen these kinds of things before. He's also seen enough of them to know that it's better to not piss them off if he can manage it.

Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean that August or someone else isn't about to jump out from behind a table like some kind of goddamned hero.

...

Welp! Will's going down this here hallway. 'Special Research' sure sounds like a place they might find... Something worthwhile, at least.
August Kohler There is a short moment where August plans to jump out and distract the machine so that the others can continue. A short, suicidal moment. But instead, he decides to go with Will down the 'Special Research' hallway, walking slowly and patiently, as he flicks the mirror shard around some more. "What do you expect to be in there? More robots? Weapons? A CODE?"
Millium Argent      ROBOTICS

Kotone is free to continue onwards without fear of that huge patrol bot. And Genji soon follows. It passes by without noticing a thing. Someone forgot to program 'look up' into its earch protocols. Oops. Heading further into this section of the facility, they'll notice that... huh. There are actually no other patrolling machines in this area. It soon becomes apparent why when after they enter a hangar and spot several destroyed security drones. They're just strewn on the floor, missing chunks as if someone just erased parts of their frames altogether.

There are also several other kinds of deactivated robots in storage here. Some of the same kinds of units as the one currently making the rounds, along with a good amount of spherical camera drones and human sized assault bots, ...hey are those roombas? There are also eerily humanoid 'domestic-types' with armor plating that look vaguely like maid dresses... One of those scientists must have had a *really* weird hobby.

Thankfully nothing is active. But that's not all there is. Far out to the back, and off to an unassuming side door, Kotone and Genji will find a computer room. ...Actually the door was already open, and inside, there are a bunch of computers lining the room in rows. They're all off. Save for one. ...A figure in a black cloak appears to be on it, their back turned to the room entrance as they type. Clackity clack.

     Hm.

     SPECIAL RESEARCH

Will and August head north, and they're not so lucky. Once they pass down the hall and reaches the next open area, they'll find that there are floating camera drones patrolling about. Four in total, moving in a way that doesn't leave blind spots for too long. The room has four pillars that make up the design near each corner, as well as railings connecting them all. There's a door directly on the other side that reads "Lab #42, as well as a hallway leading away by a sidewall further into the facility. Beyond the railings, and in the center, is an open drop... down into some other dark place. It's noot possible to see what's down there. Looks dangerous.

What shall they do? Shoot them down? Sneak by?

     WEST

Millium and Claire wait.... wait.... wait for the lumbering bot to head down the hall to the docks. Once it passes, the blonde makes a break for the western hallway. Down she goes, witth Claire following at a much more measured pace. She's got her laptop open, processing Kotone's map data and building a more complete map.

There aren't any active robots patrolling here. ...But something else actually. The white walls are slowly starting to become a sickly looking black the further on they go. Millium glances from side to side and shudders. "Eugh. Hey Claire, doesn't this look familiar?" She murmurs, keeping SERAPH ready to project a weapon at a moment's notice.

Claire looks up from her laptop and eyes the walls. "...Hm." Red eyes narrow, but nothing is said. Not yet anyway.
Genji Shimada     Fast and silent is Genji's MO, and after confirming Kotone's presence as well, that's how he moves. At least until they discover evidence of someone arriving before they did. THAT gets the shinobi moving slowly and cautiously, step by step.

This is probably why spotting a person near the computers doesn't get him caught as well.

For a second or two, Genji is utterly still, making a gesture to alert Kotone. Then, carefully, he palms a single shuriken. If whoever that is doesn't know they're here already, there's a simple way to do this.

First, the cyborg shinobi flings his shuriken off to the person's left, where it will embed in an inactive monitor. At the same time, he swiftly darts to the right. His intent is to circle around behind the person while they're looking for the source of the throwing star, so that he can draw his shortblade and put it right at their throat as a how-do-you-do.
William Pauwel Welp.

There is literally zero time to be faffing about in this particular wing right now. They can come back later. With a blowtorch or something. But no, there's a very dreadfully ~familiar~ black hallway somewhere in this facility, and that means that there is nowhere in here that any of them are safe. "August, come on," Will says, turning back down the corridor and speeding off. "Don't engage 'less you get noticed. Let's move!"

Hopefully they won't be too late.

That would be... Pretty awful.

...

Will doesn't need to lose TWO people this month.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa is going on ahead and soon will find he's got Genji back up which is honestly very welcome. she keeps moving and she's going to look . She takes note of the various robots what are they? The robots strike a cord reminding her of what her cousin's company produces. She tries to nto think about that due to the mad memories and finally they find a computer room with the door left open. She pauses lookinat at the figure in black and moves in she has her body's eel ware ready to arm if it's needed and someone's lurking and genji acts so fast she doesn't have much choice but to follow and wait to see how this plays out.
August Kohler As the radio discussion goes on, August grits his teeth. Some sort of evil fungus down in the hallway? He nods to Will, as he tries to slip away from the camera drones. "Let's hurry. Hopefully, Claire can keep Millium alive for right now."
Millium Argent      ROBOTICS

Genji is fast. Genji is also smart. The shuriken is thrown and impacts with the monitor next to the one the figure is using. They look in that direction briefly, which gives the cyborg ninja the time he needs to swoop in and put the cloaked figure into blade to throat lock.

...At least, that's the plan, but it looks like they managed to raise a fist just in time to shield their neck, and the blade pressed against a black and gold gauntlet. "And hello to you too." A girl's voice states gruffly. "Can I ask why in the world you just tried to potentially murder me?" She asks, turning her head a bit to glare with a single blue eye. Two twitching ears atop her head and an agitatedly swishing tail gives her away as some sort of beastkin.

On the monitor, it appears that she was accessing the computer network, and a bunch of folders are opened up. There's also what amounts to a flah drive embedded into one of the console's ports. Hm.

     SPECIAL RESEARCH & WEST

With Will's beckoning on the radio, the two stop before a sickly black coated door. ...It really looks like it's seen better days. And it's also slightly ajar. Claire stands back silently to watch, as if she already knows, and Millium produces a wrapped hard candy from her jacket. What? There's no rocks around here! She throws it at the black stuff coating the walls, and lamenting the waste of sweet stuff. It hits the wall and immediately, the material starts to twitch.

She shudders and reports her findings. Claire records the reaction for posterity. And then they get told to get the hell out. Millium doesn't need to be told twice. But before even that happens...

The black stuff starts to wriggle more and more... and more and more! Then there's a BURST as the stuff comes to life and floods out of the ajar door and chases after the two. "...Oh crap. OH CRAP OH CRAP OHCRAPOHCRAPOCHRAOCRIAPCIOdjdhbsaajhjdshahklskd"

The blonde turns around, grabs Claire by the waist, then powers on SERAPH's anklets and HAULS ASS. "THIS ISN'T FUNNY! WHAT THE HECK IS THIS!?" She cries in a panic, barreling down the corrupted hallway back to the common area. She has to weave and juke this way and that to avoid getting grabbed or touched all the while, streaming comical tears down her face.

...Claire, who's being held backwards, just faces her laptop at the oncoming black tide, and records video. What? This is a rare chance to see Code: Paradise in action. Girl's got nerves of steel.
Genji Shimada     A blade stops against an armored gauntlet. There is a moment in which the shinobi is utterly still, his short sword stopped against that gauntlet. She speaks, and his head cocks slightly. "You're not half bad," is all he says in reply.

If she'd wanted to make a fight of it, she would have. So he (slowly, cautiously) withdraws his blade and takes a step or two back, giving her some room. "But I must admit, this puts us at an impasse. My answer to your question, is that I had questions of my own." He holds up a single finger. "Such as, who you are," a second finger, "What you are doing here or looking for in a deep-ocean facility like this..."

    And then a third finger.

"And are the ears real? They're adorable."
William Pauwel Truly, catness is irresistable. Once it takes root in your heart, it will spread until it owns you in full. Genji is already lost. Goodbye now, brave ninja. You are lost to us; lost to the catness festering inside.

RIP.

But now! Here we go! Will sprints around a corner just as Millium turns the opposite end of the corridor, pursued by... A terrifyingly familiar tsunami of pitch black corruption. "Awwwwwww," Will groans, his weapon already in hand, "--wwwwww crackers, this ain't at all good! AUGUST! FIRE!" This is maybe not a good idea underwater. Where oxygen is limited. "JUST... BACK THAT WAY! I'll... I'll fire too!"

And so he does.

But his decision is... not made alone.

Judgment's core suddenly seems to blaze with inner light. Enemy confirmed. Security clearance-- passed. QER at maximum. Ready to fire.

"Go!" Will roars, depressing the trigger. Judgment's barrel flashes-- and unleashes a veritable column of searing, white-hot plasma into the creeping corruption. This... Is the exact sort of thing that this weapon was made for.
August Kohler Well, that is a /terrifying sight/. Will doesn't even have to say it, as soon as August sees the tsunami, he's lifting the mirror shard up. "PERSONA!" The Tin Soldier appears in a surge of energy, rapidly focusing its gun and shooting a massive spray of fire, attempting to snuff out the corruption. The fire does not stop. It is concentrated and angry, as August shouts to the girls. "Get the /hell out of here/. GO! I've already alerted people to bomb the hell out of us if we die here."
Millium Argent      ROBOTICS

The cloaked beastgirl looks impatient, as much as can be construed through her one eye, and obscured lower half of her face under the cut of the cloak. Impatient, but not altogether spoiling for a fight. When let go, she turns around and lowers her arm, letting her cloak settle back into hiding her figure completely, barring her legs from the knees down.

     "........"

After a bout of silence, her one blue eye narrows. "Who I am isn't important in the least." She's not going to introduce herself so casually. "I'm on the trail of an ancient project. Why the hell else would I come all the way down through the depths of the ocean to this hellhole?" And then by the third question, a bit of red colors her cheeks. Not that it's easy to spot, given the low light already.

"Are you stupid? Of course they're real." Not at all amused, this one. She glances aside, said ears flicking expressively. -But then, there's a quake that emanates from the the distance. The cloaked girl glares off that way vaguely, as if looking through the walls, and grumbles. "Tch-! You people have no idea, do you?" Hurriedly, she checks the console screen, watching the download bar fill up. Almost there. 86%... 92%... Damn it. Stupid people. She's not going anywhere until this data downloads, and then she's going to be gone.

"If you came here with other people, you should get out. If you enjoy living still, that is."

     MEANWHILE

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" Millium screams comically as she dashes down the hall, ankle boosters increasing her speed. And she zooms past Will and August, letting those two handle taking the BLACK STUFF. She's going to go where it's not horribly unsafe... which is nowhere. Shit.

Meanwhile, as Millium freaks the hell out, Claire... just remains cool as a cucumber, and faces her laptop's screen at Will as he fires Judgment at CODE: Paradise, watching the ensuing reaction. Hmm. Interesting. Finally, visual proof of that gun's effectiveness. She's not even running. It takess Millium dragging her away to the docks for the observer to finally put a move on.

Well, this all went terribly wrong. So much for that info on the project!
Genji Shimada     "We have more than you might think," Genji replies, turning his head slightly, and reaching up to hold a pair of fingers to the side of his head, as if listening to a communication.

(He does not actually need to do this, but it will give her the right impression.)

"I was going to suggest the same. My allies have encountered a... hazard, of Tellus. From your reactions, I'm guessing you're familiar with it as well." He lowers his hand again, and gives Kotone a brief look, then turns back to the feline woman. "If you need a ride out, I'm willing to offer. Our sub isn't far."

If she accepts, he'll wait for her download to finish before leading her. If she /doesn't/ accept, she gets a simple, 'very well' before he takes off at full speed.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa seeng the situation is ressolved thankgully with no death Kotone decloaks nad for all her figure? Looks ghish darn sheepish. She pauses for a moment.

"He's not alone an entire team is here. Look I was half expecting Coral here."

She looks ot Genji for a moment as is intending to follo her lead but it's time to go and she hears to call to run.

"Genji come on and I hate to sya it but if you want a lift miss I think we can give you one."

Kotone's going to cloak agian and get the hell out.
William Pauwel It's perhaps not so much a 'reaction' as a... Well, combustion is a reaction, so that is, in some ways, a reasonable comparison. Flame and plasma mix with the rushing mass of blackness. The result is a strange inversion of a burn. An implosion of white-hot energy that sucks in the darkness, but there is ALWAYS more darkness. CODE: Paradise keeps coming. But Will keeps shooting.

There's always more light.

But more importantly, there's ALSO more water, and if they keep wrecking this place like this, they'll all end up sleepin' with the fishes! Will cusses, ducking behind another corridor before firing off a quick series of white-hot shots, but...

Then he passes a... Certain demarkation. His eyes flicker to a certain gap in the floor. Will takes aim and fires one more time.

At the wall.

Which then begins leaking so much water.

...But then that gap in the floor shoots up. Or rather, a bulkhead door does. Automatic pressure sensors! Flooding countermeasures! They're pretty great! But who knows how long that and the terrible, crushing weight of the ocean will keep Paradise from finding a way through? Will doesn't want to find out.

Time to run.

"C'mon, y'all! Get a move on!"
Millium Argent      ROBOTICS

     "......."

The girl's download finishes, and she pulls out the flashdrive, tucking it into a pocket under her cloak. Then she stares aside at Genji and his offer, along with Kotone. She looks off, hearing the sounds of gunfire and the shaking of water pressure bearing down. Tch.

Finally, she lifts one of her gauntlets and stares into one of the forearm jewels, ascertaining something. "...Low on energy." It's lowered back under her cloak. "Fine. For now." She says, breaking forward into a run to join the two as they escape back to the docks. Better to use them than try her luck on her own.

Over at the docks, Millium and Claire head into the sub and power it back on. The blonde dives into the captain's chair and starts pulling up all the necessary controls. he is not waiting to see if that black stuff can break through, nope nope nope!

A hand rises to her ear and she shouts. "Everyone get your butts over here, we're getting out! Super out! So out that we were actually gone yesterday and we've looped forward in time!"

     Does that even make sense?

Claire settles at her station, looking over her recorded material with a satsfied nod. Yes. This will do.
August Kohler "Hey, Will? What does it say that this isn't even on my top ten worst days?!" The German is running alongside Will for the submarine, moving to dive in once he spots the door. There's a dive and roll which is kind of clumsy, before August sighs and moves for the weapons station, taking a turrent and pointing it towards the lab. "Everyone, come on! If the black stuff shows up, I'm firing."
William Pauwel "It means I get to say that y'all never get to call my planet bullshit ever again!" Will answers on the run, clumsily shoving his weapon back into its holster. He much more deftly leaps and dives into the submarine, snapping himself into one of the chairs. "We'll need to find another way in. That's fine! Least we know what we're lookin' for is DEFINITELY down here! Probably!"
Genji Shimada     Genji is fast, but with the new girl following along, he doesn't dip into all the agility his cyborg body grants him. He also keeps a trio of shuriken in hand /just in case/... but that will probably not be necessary. Only when they're finally in the sub do the three projectiles fold themselves back into his hand, and he calmly finds himself a bulkhead to lean against where he'll be out of the way. "My apologies if the vessel's resources are a bit strained, but we have picked up a stray."
Millium Argent      The cloaked girl keeps up fairly well, even if Genji is holding back, and they make it over to the docks with Kotone, just in time to get in and avoid the wrath of CODE: Paradise. Once everyone's on, the doors are shut and sealed, and it's take off time.

The catgirl does however give the cyborg ninja a dull glare. "Call me a stray again and I'll shove that sword up your shiny metal ass." She's pleasant. She also takes one look at the panicking Millium, narrows her one eye, then turns away pointedly and says nothing.

"Alright, that's everyone? Let's go go go!" Because look! Black stuff is leaking through to the docks already. The submarine submerges and Millium hauls ass out of that particular underwater accessgate and into the ocean proper. Once they're reasonably in the clear and certain that death isn't chasing after them... "Phew..." She sighs out deeply, relaxing finally. Drooping in the captain's seat, Millium almost becomes liquid. After a couple moments, she opens her eyes and looks across the bridge. "So uh...someone said something about a str-"

     Pause.

     Stare.

     Staaaaaaaaare.

     "KITTY!"

She leaps out of her seat, arms open to hug their poor guest. What she gets is a metal palm catching her face and holding her off. "Keep your grubby mitts away from me, you retard!"

"AWWW C'MON! LET ME HUG YOU!"

"FOR THE LOVE OF- NO! SOMEONE GET THIS FOOL AWAY FROM ME BEFORE I MURDER HER!"

...Such is their journey to the surface.
William Pauwel Welp. Milly's gone full catness. Goodbye Milly. We'll miss y--

Wait.

"MILLY NO YOU HAVE TO STEER THE--"

CRUNCH.

...

The sub is still chugging on. Will has pointedly moved to the captain's chair. This is the best plan, obviously.
Genji Shimada     A cybernetic hand grabs Millium by the collar, metaphorically scruffing her to pull her far enough away that the cloaked girl has some room. "My apologies. Some people simply cannot keep their hands to themselves. Think of it as a complement," Genji suggests.

"My name, by the way, is Genji. A shinobi of the Shimada clan. You would be...?"
August Kohler "I'm not cleaning any litterboxes." August is still staring at the weapons console, just waiting. Waiting for something else to come and eat them. It'll happen, right? Right?
Millium Argent      Millium is grabbed.

     Millium dangles.

     "Awwwww..."

     Claire rolls her eyes.

Genji introduces himself, then puts the cloaked girl on the spot. She seems to glare at him, knowing exactly what this is.

     Tch.

".....You can call me C." She says in a dull tone, pointedly looking away and avoiding giving a full answer. At least that letter isn't a lie."

Meanwhile, a fuckhuge whale drifts by the submarine.

     It doesn't attack.

     ...Tellus.
William Pauwel Will leans over his wheel.

...

He peers at 'C.' C and her big, adorable, twitchy kitty ears.

"...Is the C for Cat?"

Damnit, Will.
Millium Argent      Immediately C turns and dives for Will, gauntlet claws outstretched to grab and maul him
William Pauwel "OH GOD NO I'M TRYING TO DRIVE THE SHIP--" Will is tackled to the ground. Ordinarily this would not be a bad thing. But this, this is not ordinary.

...Someone should probably take the wheel.
Millium Argent      Claire sighs.

She gets up and plops down into the captains seat, stepping over Will and C to do it.

No, she doesn't help. She just ignores the crazies and proceeds to take over steering.

If only for her own self interest in not dying.

Meanwhile, the dangling Millium calls out. "Give her headpats! This will work, I promise!"
August Kohler Well, Will's dying by cat. It's August's job to save him. And to do that, he has to be an idiot. "Oh, it's obvious she's just in heat. Someone should have gotten her spayed.~" RIP August Kohler.
William Pauwel "RIGHT! HEADPATS! GOT IT-AUUUGH MY ARM--" Will's shoulder is scratched by terrible cat claws! But HIS OTHER HAND GOES THROUGH. HEADPAAAAATS!
Millium Argent      C pauses, her claws wrapped around Will's throat. He pats her head. Her ears flick expressively.

August ays the dumb thing. She stands up and lets the headpats go. Because now she's diving for August instead! "I am going to kill all of you!" She growls frustratedly.
William Pauwel "THE HEADPATS WERE EFFECTIVE, AUGUST!" Will shouts even though its painful what with his throttled neck. "USE YOUR PERSONA! YOUR PURRSONAAAAAA!"
August Kohler "RUN, WILL, RUUUUN!" August is getting murdered by a catgirl. This is not at all pleasant. But he has sacrificed himself for a friend. You know...this is /not/ how he expected to die, and at that realization, he moves to push C off of him. "Alright, alright, chill out! No fighting! Sorry about that, just had to distract you from /murdering my friend/."
Millium Argent      C is pushed off, and she deftly gets up to her feet, panting lightly before she fixes her cloak and glares through her single eye at Will and August. And also Genji and Millium. None of you are innocent.

"... Just leave me alone until we reaach land." With that, she stomps off and out of the bridge. Likely to commandeer one of the beds. Pleasant first impressions all around.

Millium watches C go with a big smile. "Awwww, isn't she the cutest?" And yet, she can't shake the niggling feeling that she's missing something.

     Hm,

     Whatever!
