Sokka Sokka was not having the best day. Why? Because today SUCKED! He was covered in slime and... other goo(really, the first thing sneezed on him. He was trying NOT to think about what the goo was. It was almost as bad as the time Appa sneezed on him. Almost. Seriously, why did giant monsters always sneeze on him?)

They had been summoned to help the Southern Water tribe, to aid in a sudden issue.

The city itself had been expanding. Heavily. There were quite a few structures, new families, old families. There was actual hustle AND bustle! They hadn't had bustle in years!

Unfortunately, that left a few other issues. There were supplies moving, fish, wood, all kinds of things and, as more and more people came in, more things that were important for everyone's safety had been ignored. More waste was left behind, fish were left to catch their scent on the breeze, and eventually the issue escalated.

Which was why a pack of hungry jellyfish seals had been attacking people near the town. Often just on the out skirts, they'd come in, attack the fist boats and then vamoose. It hadn't been much, but a sting from one of those creatures could partially paralyze a person for up to five minutes. A whole herd of them? That was dangerous. So they'd been called in to drive them out and get rid of their nest.

Which was why he currently lay under two of them, his left arm completely numb, covered in gunk. Sure, he'd killed the two, but with only one good arm and under about 500 pounds of blubber and stingers, he wasn't moving much without a bit of help. The good news was, with all the construction going on, they'd been able to bring a big sled of brick and rock for Toph. Still, they'd called for backup earlier and, hopefully, would arrive soon.
Toph Beifong     "Maybe it's better to keep some distance so they don't sting you with their tendrils again."

One of the seals is knocked away when Toph extends her arm, the ground underneath the snow rising to shove it away so Sokka can get out from underneath the heavy and jellatinous creatures. Though he would if he wasn't paralyzed... it's a good thing they only affect muscles! So Toph moves forward, crouches down and works on helping Sokka to his feet. "So what /can/ you move?" she asks, grunting at the strain of helping Sokka upright. "And don't worry, help's on the way. If we're quick about it when we should be able to get those bags of fish back too before they eat them!"
Alden Alden was quite glad to hear from Sokka, it had been a long while since he saw the energetic boy... man?, sometimes it's hard to tell with humans. In any case, he only wasted time in making sure he had the proper directions on how to get there, and convince Katze that Jellyfish seals were a real thing, and not just some bizarre excuse to get out of cleaning and training.
The digimon was going as quickly as he would, in his fluffy quad wolf shape, mumbling thanks at being a fuzzy creature, rather than a dinosaur or a reptile!, and comes to the area to see his some huge... blubbery, poisonous things near Toph, and a seemingly wounded Sokka!.He rushes to offer his help carrying the paralized Sokka away.
Athela Valemore Yes, there are a lot of weird creatures in many Pokemon worlds. That... doesn't really make the thought of some hybrid of jellyfish and sealions any less weird to consider... On the other hand, people would probably consider that that Athela arrives riding on what some people might describe as a giant sealion crossed with a narwhale wearing a suit of armor as weird, so we won't fiddle faddle over one or the other.

The young knight takes a look around as her Samurott glides to a stop, and rubs the side of her head with one hand at what the jelly-seals look like. "... Aye, this be just about as strange as I expected it to be..."
Kotone Shiomi Kotone Shiomi is shivering and sweating both as she approaches, she's got no vehicles of her own, so she's been running as fast as she can. She takes a moment to catch her breath when she is close enough, one hand holding her naginata, and the other holding an object shaped like a gun. Rather than wait much longer to intervene, it doesn't take too long for her to raise the barrel of that chromed object to her temple, taking a few deep and nervous seeming breaths.

"PERSONA!"

She pulls the trigger, and with a sound like shattering glass, energy flows through her head and a metallic figure holding a heart-shaped heart appears behind her. She points her weapon in the direction of one of the Jellyfish seals, and Orpheus matches the movement, calling forth magic fire.
Sokka Sokka grunts when he's lifted up. "I'm... I'm fine. Just my left arm and right leg. And hey, boomerang doesn't really work on these guys, I needed space sword. Not all of us can rock the world," he grumbled, pouting. Then his eyes lit up. "Hey! Alden, long time no see. Come to give us a--" Then his eyes went wide. Slowly the smile formed on his lips as he looked between Toph and Alden.

"Hey... guys. You thinking what I'm thinking?" Because, hey. If you're going to fight things, why not fight things in the most AWESOME MANNER POSSIBLE?!
Toph Beifong     With all the snow and the fact that she's wearing boots, there's no wonder Toph has a problem 'seeing' in this place. So it's not until Alden closes in on them that Toph turns her head and looks surprised. At least until Alden speaks, that is, causing the blind teenager to relax a bit. "Carry him, will you?" she suggests, knowing that Alden will have a much easier time carrying her paralyzed boyfriend right now. "He's okay, they just paralyzed him... when you see them keep an eye out for their tendrils. I'm not sure if they would work on you, but better safe than sorry." As for whether she's thinking the same as Sokka...? "I dunno really, but I really doubt it judging by the tone of your voice."

Athela too is a familiar voice, and Toph gives the knight a brief and informal salute. "Lady Splashalot, nice of you to join us. You should have enough to work with here..." She's kinda like a waterbender, right? The last arrival though is rather new, and she's only heard that voice once. Oh right, Shiomi, was it? The whole Persona concept is something Toph hasn't focused a lot on, and she blinks at the magic fire as it sets fire to the dead jellyfish seals. "Uh, well, at least we got firepower now." Various elements are represented, which might be good. Even if she herself can't do much with limited earth and snow here.

"Okay Sokka, where did the hunters say the nest was?" she asks, not really liking not being able to track in this area like she can do when she's walking around in most places.
Alden The wolfish digimon rushed to Toph's side, leaning down assist in getting Sokka on his back, ears perking a bit at the loud, clearly excited question, smiling and wagging his long tail, "Oh?, which was is that?" he asks, even as he quickly jumps back, while Katze carefully moved to peek at Sokka's arm, not that she knows much medicine, but at least check if there is an stinger or such. "I am not sure either, but I rather not get stung." he mumbles, making some distance before facing the big, blubbery things.
The wolf faces one of the non burning blobs, and takes a page from Kotone's book, "Howling blaster!" he exclaims, before a stream of blue flames emerge from his snout and lands against another of the big targets, igniting it!.
Athela Valemore Athela Valemore returns the brief salute... and can't really object to the nickname. Some of her abilities are similar to waterbending after all. "True enough." Followed by a thoughtful hmmm at the mention of the tendrils. If they use them to sting like the jellyfish pokemon do...

"Though I think another trick will be necessary first." She settles back down on her mount's back and leans forward a little. "Remember the last time we had to chase Tentacruel out of Tidepool's harbor?" Lancer nods his head. "Then do that, and help clear us a path through." Athela nudges her heels into his sides lightly, and the Samurott lowers his head, helmet horn gleaming in the snowy air as he uses his back limbs and tail like a springboard to launch forward, sliding across the ice towards the jelly-seals.

They can lash their stinger tentacles at him all they wants, her version of Samurott is a Water/Steel type with the metallic armor. And Steel types are extremely resiliant when it comes to poisonous attacks.
Kotone Shiomi "Oh, they were already dead? Oops. Sorry." Kotone makes an awkard shrug, and looks around, trying to place where they need to go and where she is. "It's cold here." She states the obvious, shivering a little more. She is dressed in a school uniform. It's the winter uniform, so that helps, but it's far from warm enough to deal with this kind of environment. "Where are going?"
Sokka Sokka nodded and then... grinned. "May I?" And then swung onto Alden's back. See, the part that came next was probably the part that Toph would hate the most. When suddenly he reached down with his good arm and hauled HER up with him, an arm protectively around her waist.

"This is WAYYYYY better than riding chocobos!" he said with a laugh, before clicking his ankles. "Ride, Alden! Let's kick some jellyfish seal butt!" he yelled!

For now he just held on with his feet and arm around Toph, sword sheathed again until he could draw it.

"Okay, break through, we're almost to the next, see those caves up ahead? They're in there! And careful, they're likely to be a heck of a lot more of them!"

True to Athela's belief, there were lots of the creatures trying to throw their weight on them and sting. Unfortunately, as she just billowed past them, they were starting to try less stinging and more body thumping at the creature.

Sokka grinned and then tried to steered Alden to the other girl and hold out a hand. "Here!" he yelled, nodding to her. "Alden express! Alden, take us in, follow that.... other metal seal! Yah!"
Toph Beifong     It's a good thing that the reinforcements are eager to help and make sure the jellyfish seals learn who's the boss, and Toph seems intent on running next to Alden as they head onwards to the caves. Which might be why she's so surprised when she's hauled up and onto Alden's back, emitting a loud shriek of surprise. "H-hey, let me down!" she snaps, initially struggling. But as Sokka wraps his arm around her waist and Alden begins moving ahead... and she tenses up, eyes wide as she has no idea about what's going on around her. There's not much she can do right now either!

As the group nears the caves, they should be able to see a rather sizable group of jellyfish seals, all in varying sizes. Some of the males are rather large, easily bigger than a grown man. Some of them are working on tearing some bags of fish open, though they raise their heads and stare at the group. Though at the attacks they aren't bound to sit still for long! Athela and Lancer's frontal launch knock several of the large jellyfish seal aside. Seems their usual attacks don't work on something tougher and more armoured on them. How will they deal with some tendrils snapping at them however? The fire from Alden is enough to make some of them retreat, but instead they seem intent on attacking him from behind. And if Kotone thinks it's cold as it is now, she might be interested in avoiding a spray of water from one of the jellyfish seals as it throws its head forward.
Alden Alden is not sure he signed for this!, but he won't pass a chance to be cool and helpful!. He certainly is happy to assist Toph, even if he is unsure the earthbender might be too happy about it, looking over his shoulder for a moment, "Are you sure that's fine?" he says, long tail whipping around. Still, he begins to run in the direction, trusting the eager Sokka's indications, nodding at the mention of the caves, "Ok, going to the caves then!". He tries not to.. jump too much, due to the precarious perch on his back, Katze can't quite help there either, "Follow that... pokemon?..." he muses, remembering how Alexis called those things. He of course helps clear the way with some liberal application of fire, assuming some of the things try to get close. And when is is steered towards the next... passenger, he stops, and takes the time to lower himself to allow her to climb, if she agrees, no 'jump on him as he runs past' nonsense.
Athela Valemore Physically slamming into Lancer's charging form still doesn't amass a lot of direct damage, but having several bloated bodies pounding against his is enough to slow down the charge. One does try to climb up onto his back, but Athela shoves an armored boot in its face and pushes it off before it can try to sting her as well. They're not quite to caves themselves, but it's close enough.

"Good, good. Now hold the line so the others can get past!" Shouldn't be hard with how fast Alden can move, but best not to push their luck with these unusual creatures.

Using his tail for support Lancer rears back, crossing his forelimbs to grab the prongs of his bracers and pull a pair of seashell-shaped hilts free. As he pulls them apart the Razor Shells surge with elemental energy until they form a pair of large swords with blades that shimmer like water. Plus he has that blade-like lance on his helmet to swipe and slash with as well.

Now Athela is stitting more on his shoulders than his back with the semi-upright stance, but they have practice this fighthing tactic many a time. While he's slicing and dicing she reachs with her own powers to the water beneath the ice, 'pulling' it up into gyster like bursts through the ice to help knock the jelly-seals out of the way.
Kotone Shiomi With some degree of uncertainty, Kotone accepts the hand that's offered to her, and thus she's carried over there... only to be splashed with ice cold water. She shivers a little more, the Persona faded out partway through the trip there. This time, though, she doesn't hesitate nearly as much when she places the barrel on her temple, to resummon it. And the fire is coming quick, aimed at the jellyfish seals that just drenched her in water far colder than she'd ever want to be drenched in.
Sokka Sokka held on to Toph tightly, letting the other girl get behind him as they charged deep into the fray. "Okay, be careful with too much destruction! The village needs those fish!" he yelled, before motioning forward. "Toph, it's about... thirty feet ahead of us. Try not to hit it. But there's a guy coming in on our right, smack it out!" he said, then... "Err, girl with the fancy gun, cover our left. Alden, head straight down, give the... seal riding girl some back up, let's make sure noone gets overhelmed, okay? Go!" he yelled, raising a fist to the air.
Toph Beifong     Getting bending done when she can't see what she's doing, that's a difficult challenge at time. But Toph does nod, throwing her arms forward in a split palm motion that sends an earthen spike shooting up through the snow as it knocks a jellyfish seal away from the bags that were dragged here. It bumps into another large jellyfish seal behind it, which creates an opening for the others should they wish to take care of the two.

It's bad enough to face people with one blade, but with three blades to evade at once? That proves to be rather diffcult, as the attacking seals learn the hard way. As some of them fall the others retreat, not without letting out loud barks of displeasure at Lancer. The bursts of water summoned forth from Athela easily silences them for the most part, at least until they resume their barking as they get up again from being knocked down.

The fire retaliation is rather effective, and soon enough even more jellyfish seals pull back, fleeing towards the nearby sea.
Alden Alden keeps his attention on the wall of seasls, doing his best to follow directions, and blast away any seals that tried to sneak onto the sword wielding... seal?. In any case, he is glad it seems enough to drive them away, he rather not have to get too close!, stingers adn poison make him nervous. He continues to approach Athela, while keeping his distance from other hybrids approaching from the sides.
Athela Valemore Athela is content to leave the ones fleeing to do so. She would rather not have to actually slay anything of the creatures, just drive them away from where they are causing problems for the locals. Too bad she can't control ice with her powers as well or she'd make some kind of obstruction to keep them away again. "Don't fret about us, make sure that nest gets disposed of. Then they hath less reason to stay near."

As the numbers start to dwindle from the withdrawls, Lancer dismisses his dual water-swords. Then uses the fact that his front paws and claws are also clad in metal to grab one of the more stubborn jelly-seals and fling it after the others.
Kotone Shiomi "C-cold." Kotone complains once again, now that she doesn't see any immediate targets anymore, she's shivering quite a bit, though keeping her fingers firm on Naginata and Evoker both. "My name is Kotone Shiomi, by the way. Is this kind of thing common?" She asks, sounding like she's quite a bit out of her depth.
Sokka Sokka nods and then as they begin to retreat, he points to the bag. "Alden, can you grab the food and get us out of here? Guys, once we're gone, we're going to wreck the cave in our wake! Just... use whatever fancy power things you have to blow the cave down and bring it down!"

He then glanced back and... "Here." Toph would feel warmth leaving as he took off his outer jacket and put it over the other girl. "it should hold you until we get back to the town." Now, normally he would be freezing right now, but, you know what?

He was FREEZING! Maybe giving it over was a bad idea. Fortunately he had a toph to hold and keep him warm.
Toph Beifong     "I can close off the cave, then they might go elsewhere instead of staying here," Toph says, then moves to get off of Alden if Sokka will let her. "I need to be on the ground though, let go of me?" Though she does arch an eyebrow as Sokka willingly parts with his outer jacket. Not that he's lacking in layers, but eh... it's probably the best so Kotone doesn't end up with frostbite. "Maybe they'll serve us some hot food and drink when we get back, considering we just helped out the village a lot," Toph points out, though she's still eager to get down to the ground so she can close off the cave. Alden and Athela can surely grab the food.
Alden The digital wolf beast was not faring much better about the cold water!, "I can try! hope it's not too heavy." he muses, trying to charge ahead, after Toph climbs down, blasting another couple jellyfish seals, before snagging a large bag of food in his mouth!. He might have understimated the weight a bit, but he manages to pick it up and retreat while Toph works on sealing the cave.
Athela Valemore Athela Valemore sadly doesn't have a Ground or Rock type that could help Toph with sealing off the cave. Oh well, there's still the food to gather up, and her Samurott can easily carry some of it back to the village.
Sokka Sokka let Toph off, wrapping his arms tightly around himself, shivering most of the way there. Once Toph finished with her job and sealed up the cave(likely collapsing it in the process) to ensure the jellyfish seals wouldn't return, she'd find herself snatched back up and hugged. Looked like sokka had regained most of the use of his left arm. Also, brrrrr.

At that point, the mission was a success! They'd driven the creatures off, while perhaps not permanently, it would make them have to travel further and likely have to relocate. They got the food back, which the village(slowly becoming a city) could definitely use. And they were greeted with cheers and fresh soup(as well as his aunts seal jerky. Hey, not all of those seals survived the fight, they'd be good eating.)

Once in the warmth and security of the village, he'd quickly introduce himself. "Sokka, Southern Water Tribe, nice to meet you, ladies." Giving a wink, possibly a kiss on the hand... before going to pet Alden. "Thanks, boy. You were AWESOME!" he'd say proudly.
