Scene #4992: Everybody Loves Sokka

Toph Beifong	The Beifong Academy has been a quiet place for a while since the multiverse went through its massive change, but things do not stay the same for long. Especially not when the sifu of said academy returns to check on her students. "So you're a police officer now, Sifu? What does the uniform look like?" the youngest student, Penga, asks Toph with wide eyes, clearly the one who's the most curious to hear about the Paladins. The other two, Ho Tun and The Dark One both look a bit uncertain about this, but they know better than to voice all of their suspicions at least, having earned Toph's wrath quite a few times. Toph herself is rather casual about it all as she inspects the training hall. "I dunno if we actually have uniforms, I was thinking of making myself some metal armour for that later..." Good, the academy has been well kept since she left it last year. And the three students that are actually here appear to take it seriously. "So how goes your progress? Have you been listening to Peridot?" At least a little... because Toph knows the gem can talk a little too much at times and her students aren't sure just how to feel about her, even if they aren't antagonistic towards her. "Um, Penga /did/ manage to wriggle a coin the other day... we think," Ho Tun says, reaching up to scratch the back of his neck. "Or it might have been the hippo lizard that crawled by it," The Dark One adds. Either way Toph knows what that means. "Then set up your coins, get into your horse stances and show me, lily livers!" Toph demands, pointing ahead. To which all three students respond with a 'Yes, Sifu!' And Toph herself stands, waiting as she rests her hands on her hips. Good, things are finally getting back to normal around here. It's a sad thing that she was unable to return here sooner.
Princess Luna	As Toph directs her students, they might notice they have a visitor. Princess Luna has made her way into the academy to see the famed metal bender and her students. The tall alicorn woman's ears perk as she hears both the instructions and the tone Toph uses, leaving Luna a bit bewildered. But, she doesn't say anything yet. Her hooves clop lightly as Luna heads to stand at the side of the practice area. Her ethereal mane and tail flow in some unseen breeze as she stands there, wings and hands folded behind her back.
Toph Beifong	The students focus intently on the coins in front of them, clearly trying to do /something/ to the small pieces of metal. The three might not notice the alicorn woman, but the teacher of the academy itself seems to, even if she doesn't turn towards Luna. "Who might you be?" she asks, still standing there in place as if she is taller and bigger than she actually is. The famed metalbender is quite short for a girl nearing sixteen, but her demeanor is everything but small. "Come to watch, or do you believe you have what it takes to become a metalbender?" As they become aware of the visitor, the three students turn around, glancing at Luna. But their attention is quickly brought back to their coins however as Toph stomps her small foot into the ground, making the floor /shake/. "I didn't say you guys could stop focusing! Lemmie see those coins move!"
Sokka	Sokka came marching in suddenly! He had a bag over his shoulder as he walked over. "hey Toph look what I picked up!" he dropped the bag on the ground. "A whole batch of chicken moles! On sale and quite the bargain! figure i can start up the fire and we can have a good old barbaque." he looked over the students. "Two servings of my famous grilled chicken moles to the first one to bend a coin at my head." Then he scooped up Toph in his arms and gave her a big kiss. Then paused and glanced back. "princess? Hey yoi came back! hoe you been? i was worried about you with the whole universe imploding." And then he scooped her up in a hug. That had to be a crime.
Princess Luna	Luna's ears perk again as she is addressed without a glance. "Both may apply to me. I came to watch, and I have the ability to transform metal. Though, I believe I would qualify only as a novice if thy powers are to be believed. I have never seen thy talents for myself, but Sokka-" And then Soka is here! And...he scoops up and kisses Toph? Luna stares for a moment, caught off guard and left a bit dumbfounded. And then Luna is caught in a hug, and apparently lifted up in the process! Luna blinks in surprise before hugging Sokka a bit uncertainly. "I..ah...yes. I was never able to see Toph in action last time I was here. I was hoping I might see a bit of her talent." she says, though her expression is suddenly a bit...frowny? "Toph and thee are...together? Thy did not mention such when last we spoke." she says to Sokka, even as she peers at Toph and keeps ahold of Sokka even after he sets her back down.
Toph Beifong	So that's where he went off to, huh? The blind teenager's attention turns towards the watertribe warrior as he marches in. "Chicken moles? Those barely have any meat on them, though!" she comments. "But eh, a whole batch might be enough." The price he offers to the students does earn a nod of approval from Toph. That might motivate them! Especially Ho Tun, that glutton. When Sokka decides to scoop her up and kiss her however, the metalbender blinks, blushing a bit before she kisses Sokka back. It's only when he breaks the kiss that she mutters. "... did you /have/ to do that while everybody were watching?" Seriously. But oh, Sokka knows this person? As she's set back down Toph brushes herself off. "A friend of yours...?" she asks. As for Luna, the blind metalbender arches an eyebrow. "You want a demonstration?" That's easy enough, as Toph raises her hand, and in return a metal shield on the wall flies off towards Toph, wrapping itself around her arm. The comment about her and Sokka being an item, now that makes Toph's cheek turn a slight red. "Y-yeah, we are." Which makes Penga let out a gasp. "What? You love Sifu Toph, Sokka?!" The young girl seems... disappointed. Seems that there are more girls who have crushes on Sokka here. At that moment the girl's coin wriggles a bit where it rests on its pole, and the other two students look surprised. All before they return their focus on their own coins, looking determined. "Yeah, we kinda got together after New Year's," Toph explains. "The next one of you who digs into my private matters don't get any chicken mole at all, not even if you /do/ manage to bend your coin at Sokka's head!" Toph snaps before she walks over to Luna and Sokka. "So Princess, you have a name?"
Sokka	Sokka nodded. "Yup! Princess Luna. shes pretty cool. Moon princess of equestria too. She's a bit sad a lot though. Really a... long face." Really sokka? "You should join us." if she hadn't pulled away he would, heading towards the back. He did pause though. "Hey Penga. i think you've almost got it. come on just alittle more! i believe in you!" and thumbs up. " so princess, joining us for dinner? I know its not royal food but i can make it look exyra fancy. wait. you're a vegetarian aren't you? I can grill up some fruits and veggies."
Princess Luna	Luna watches in surprise as Toph suddenly pulls that shield from the wall with just her mind and wraps it around her arm. "That is quite impressive. I might be able to do such a thing, but my transformation magic is not as strong as others." Luna then watches as Toph approach her and doesn't actually speak up again until Sokka introduces her with that terrible joke. Luna blinks, misunderstanding since...well, all of her people have long faces. "I do not believe I am sad any more than anyone else." she says, then finally extends a hand to Toph. "It is as Sokka said. I am Princess Luna of Equestria. I met Sokka last time I was here. He gave me a ride on some sort of lizard creature. I told him he did not need to, as I can fly, but he insisted due to my royal status. She looks over as Sokka cheers on the students, then looks back to Toph and Sokka. "Yes, I am a vegetarian. I am not sure I will stay for dinner, but I appreciate the invitation.
Toph Beifong	"Oh! You're a different version of her!" Toph suddenly says, a dawning look of realisation on her face. "I met a Luna before, but she was a pony. You're... kinda more human," she comments, then nods with a grin as she does shake Luna's hand in greeting. Still, there's something... tense about this Luna. Why is that? For now Toph follows Sokka however, her focus on him. "Let's get those chicken moles to the kitchen. And yeah, we do have some fruit and veggies here if that's more in your style." At the encouragement Penga looks like she was just given a love poem, and she nods. "Yes!" Watch her concentrate! But Ho Tun and The Dark One appear to focus more, with their coins wriggling slightly as well. Who will be the first one to bend a coin at Sokka's head? "Also, that is just a tiny demonstration of what I can do with my metalbending. It's something that I expect my lily livers to do soon," Toph asides to Luna as they walk, holding up her hand as the metal there shifts into the shape of a flying lemur.
Sokka	Sokka chuckled and shook his his head. "Come on you can sit in the best seat in the house. by toph. And tell us all about your holidays. i tried my first christmas and new years this year. it was pretty cool. its where toph kissed me. apparently she'd been crushing for years and just never said anything. and yes i do have to tell everyone Toph. you're Adorable when you blush and it's worth the punches to see it." "But toph is kinda a night person too" he calls from the kitchen as he gets to work. "on account of it being quieter."
Princess Luna	"She kissed thee?!" Luna exclaims, then blinks and coughs. "Erm...sh-she kissed thee?" she says in a much more calm voice. When Sokka insists that she stay, Luna sighs softly before smiling lightly to him. "Very well. I shall stay. But, I hope thou all shalt not take it as an insult if I do not meet thy gazes while thou art eating." she says. She giggles a bit as Sokka teases Toph a bit about their relationship before her ears perk a bit. "Thou art a fan of the night as well, Toph?" she says, a bit of the tension leaving Luna.
Toph Beifong	Of course Sokka's comments don't make Toph blush any less, and she reaches out to punch him in the arm. "Are you going to blabber about /all/ of it?" What's more telling though is Luna's reaction, which makes Toph blink. Why is she getting all worked up about that? "What? He was the one who said that if a girl wanted a boy to get a clue then she should kiss him. So I did that. And because others encouraged me to as well," Toph explains, trying to act all casual about it with a shrug. Is she a night person? "Eh, when it's dark all the time it doesn't really matter unless it gets too cold. And yeah, I like it when it's quiet." With that Toph begins finding the stuff that Sokka will need to prepare the food. "I can slice the veggies and fruit. Sooo... how did you two meet?"
Sokka	Sokka nodded. "Yeah kissed me right on the lips in the middle of the fire works. Kinda hard to miss a sign like that. And honestly thats just good advice. If you like someone then tell them. otherwise you might miss out." he coughed a bit. "I mean sure i panicked. but thats cause toph is awesome." He set out aome things for her to chop. "dont lose a finger or i'll start calling you stumpty." "I met her in gaoling. brought her herr to meet you but you guys were out. i uhhhh, actually flirted with her a bit before i found out who she wad. sorry princess. but we worked it out. i agreed not tp flirt or do anything too stupid. she agreed to never fall in love with me. I swung by to see her winter solstice too. you were pretty awesome Moonie. sky looked extra pretty that night. but with the verse puking everywhere kinda lost touch. was honestly a little worried aomething happened. i tried to find your verse a few times but couldnt. can't tell you happy i am you're okay."
Princess Luna	Luna is blushes herself and her hands are clenched into fists as she listens to the recounting of how Sokka and Toph got together. But, when Sokka mentions her promise Luna lets out a little 'meep' and tries to relax. "Ah..yes, Sokka has been very accomidating and a perfect gentlestallion." she says, then smiles brightly at Sokka's compliment to her winter solstice sky. "Thank thee, Sokka. I tried to make sure all the stars and auroras were especially fetching that night. I knew of thy visit, and wanted thee to have a good time. As for the multiverse...it was a bit difficult at first, but other than the changes in location it really is not much different for Equestria. Thank thee for thy concern, however!" Luna's voice turns particularly cheerful on that last sentence. "Art there any tasks with which I could help?" she adds as she watches the other two work on dinner. "It is so kind of thee to prepare my meal for me, Sokka." she says, giving him a warm smile.
Toph Beifong	Wait, Sokka /flirted/ with Luna? The blind teenager arches an eyebrow. And then... Luna calls him a /stallion/. Which immediately makes Toph blush furiously where she stands, chopping up the vegetables. Stars, the sky... all stuff that Toph doesn't care much about. But it does seem like Luna is sincere, and well... if she likes Sokka that's okay, just as long as she doesn't try to get /too/ close to him. But still, Toph does reach out and slaps Sokka on the butt. "If you wanna help you can wash those fruits over there," she says to Luna.
Sokka	Sokka lets out a yelp when she does THAT! "Tophie!" he shrieked, blushing loke mad. "Dont smack my butt." Stadler's words ran through his mind again and he gulped. He was so going to end up in trouble. "Well it really showed. One of the most beautiful things i'd ever seen. though pales in comparison to the three lovely ladies i'll be dinong with makes it pale in compariaon." oh even a bit for the student. "and hey it's no problem. you're welcome to dinner here anytime. you're awesome company moonlight." he hummed and started guttingbthe things. "luna dont look over here." He tried to be subtle about it at least. Then he snickeref. "Gentle stallion huh? Wouldn't that be a sight eh Tophieoka? could you imagine me as a horse?"
Princess Luna	Luna doesn't realize the implications to humans. To her, a stallion is simply a guy. She raises an eyebrow in a slightly confused look as both Toph and Sokka take notice of the term, then blinks. "Oh dear. Is it improper for me to use that term regarding humans?" she asks, holding a hand up to her mouth with a worried expression. She blinks again at the use of Moonlight as a nickname, then smiles a bit. And averts her eyes when warned. She does not want to see any creatures being sliced up, and actually looks a little paler even at the idea of it. To distract herself, Luna goes about washing those fruits and veggies. "Wouldst thou like to try being an Equestrian? I am sure thou wouldst make quite the handsome stud." Another word that has more connotations to humans. But, even if it isn't as strong, there are still connotations even in Equestria. Luna is likely teasing Toph and Sokka this time.
Toph Beifong	"Why not?" Toph snorts. "You keep lifting me up and kissing me, so there." The term that Luna used isn't one that Toph wants to go into. Instead she blushes and turns her face away. Sokka as a pony? "I went to Ponyville a few times, it's a bit weird being a pony," she says. "I kinda prefer being me. But sure, we can go there sometime if you wanna..." The vegetables are sliced up, and Toph places them on a plate.
Sokka	Sokka blushed worse. "Thats different. kissing is okay. Oh nah. call me a stallion all you want. Just never been called one is all." After a few minutes he nodded and cleanrd off the knife. "No more cutting. just cooking now. Heh. be an eqistrian? Sure why not? I'll try anything once. what's the worst that can happen? Wait you were a pony Toph? I'd have paid to see that." soon the smell of grilled meat! as he got to work on the sauce.
Princess Luna	Luna had been willing to stay, but when the smell of that meat wafts through the air she covers her mouth and nose with a hand and coughs. "I..um...I believe I left my video game system running back in Equestria. I should return in order to ensure nothing is damaged. I am terribly sorry." she says, trying not to make things awkward for the meat-eaters. She then starts for the exit. "Sokka, if thou dost ever wish to experience life as an Equestrian, simply stop by the castle at some point."
Toph Beifong	So kissing is okay? Toph turns her face slightly towards Sokka. "Well, you can see me as a pony there then. And you can be a stallion yourself if you wanna be that," she adds with a blush. Yumyum, the smell of meat! Though there's no missing the fact that Luna reacts to the smell a bit... badly. "You okay there?" Toph asks, a bit worried. But there she goes, and Toph looks a bit concerned. "... I don't think she likes the smell of meat." Which is kinda surreal considering both Sokka and Toph are avid meat eaters. "Nice girl." Though she does lean up and gives a quick peck on Sokka's cheek. "Just as long as you don't flirt /too/ much with them it's okay." And then she slaps his ass again for good measure before she leans in to sniff at the chicken moles. "Are they ready yet?"
Sokka	Sokka nodded, then watched the girl go. he let out a low whistle. "Yeah. Next time she comes by, make sure I remember to just have a salad." he shuddered. "But we can't have her over THAT often then. And she really is pretty nice. Really sad, too. Apparently the people in her world idolize her sister and pretty much ignore her, or something like that." He hummed softly as he worked, sniffing the meaty snacks. "So, try to be nice, okay? Even if not a big fan of the moon, it'd probably mean the world to her if you pretend the night is the favorite time. Trust me, it can hurt a lot being so overshadowed by others." And then he turned, leaned in and cupped Toph's chin, leaning in close so his lips were mere inches from hers. "And no, they're not~ Stop smacking the cook's ass or I mgiht not do this anymore," he said before leaning in and kissing her lips, gently stroking his tongue along hers.
Toph Beifong	"What?" Him eating salad? Voluntarily?! Toph arches an eyebrow at him. "You. Eating Salad. Right. I have to see it to believe it." To hear that people idolize Luna's sister and ignore her, that does make Toph halt and ponder. "That can't be easy... and yeah, I'll be nice. I don't have anything against the night." Of course Sokka would know how it's like being overshadowed, spending time with powerful benders and with him as the only non-bender of the group. When Sokka leans in close though Toph blinks, her cheeks flaring up again as she feels his breath on her lips. "But what i--" She doesn't get to finish the sentence, and she holds still, closing her eyes as she tilts her head into the kiss, gently parting her own mouth a bit. After a few seconds she pulls back, eyes still closed. "It's... a bit different than I thought it would be... w-with the tongue and all." Nopes, did not expect that.
Sokka	Sokka frowned. "I-I've eaten salad! I don't LIKE doing it, but I've done it. A handful of times." He shuddered. "It was not a pleasant experience. But for a friend, I'd endure." He shifty eyed. "I'd just make sure to soak it in meat fat first," he whispered with a grin. Oh yeah. That and the moon princess thing... there was a good reason he was so fond of her. She'd always have a special spot in his heart. Unfortunately, not that spot. "Besides, having someone awesome as you think he nights are awesome have to be worth like, a dozen, no, two dozen people liking the day." He nodded. "It's called whale kissing." He paused. "In retrospect, not the best name. But it's a lot of fun. Apparently got the name because whales have big tongues. I don't know. There was a girl up in the northern water tribes who taught me it. She uhhhhh... she was an interesting girl. It only lasted a few hours, but it was a terrifying few hours." he ndoded. "I still remember that harpoon."
Toph Beifong	Heh, what you don't do for friends. Toph looks amused at that, chuckling and shaking her head. Silly Sokka. "Of course my opinion matters more than most," she adds, leaning a bit into Sokka as she waits for the chicken moles to be done. Though she does look curious when he talks about... whale kissing. "Wait... somebody went around and kissed /whales/ or something?" she asks, making a slight face. Only to snort when Sokka tells the tale about how he learned it. "I obviously have a lot to learn about kissing," the blind teenager concludes. Might not be that bad though.
Sokka	Sokka nodded, glancing back to her. "You're right. You have a ton to learn." He started picking them up off the cooker, onto plates. "In fact, you have a ton to learn about kissing. hours and hours of studying to put in." Started walking away towards the main area. and then, loud enough for her students to hear. "I guess this just means you and i will need to kiss alllllll the time so you can get the proper learning experience, huh? No harpoons though~"
Toph Beifong	Sure, she's not that experienced with kissing. But still, to put it like that! Toph blushes as she follows Sokka, though she doesn't seem like she's opposed to the idea. "You're enjoying this a lot, aren't you?" she half jokes. It's okay, being oogie isn't that bad, not when you're the one doing it. "I can't promise that there won't be a boulder or two, though!" But what hits Sokka though is a coin square in the forehead, and from the main hall a triumphant cry can be heard from Penga. "I DID IT! DOUBLE CHICKEN MOLE FOR ME!" Ho Tun's voice follows. "Oh no, I was so close too...! My dinner is doomed!"
Sokka	Sokka grinned wide. "Well who wouldnt enjoy it? my new girlfriend is awe--" Plink. He stares for a moment and..."Toph? I think it's time you gave that girl a hug," he said with a big grin. true to his word her platr had double. and she got the biggest grin. "See kids? You can do it! Sure its hatd. but you know what? YOU'RE TOPH'S students. that makes you guys already tougher than half the people in the cities. heck in the whole world there are just three benders she chose to teach this art to. Penga you're the first. But soon I bet all three of you will be bending." his voice swelled with pride. And he pushed toph towards her student.
Toph Beifong	Why should she give her a hug? "I don't hug my students!" she protests, digging her heels into the ground. Nopes, she can be oogie with Sokka, but not be affectionate towards her students.
Sokka	Sokka crosses his arms and pushes her closer. "Do it. hug her. shes earned it." he gave a sigh. Then leaned in and whispered in her ear. " Come on. it'd probably mean the world to her. knowing you were proud enough to do that. Yoi're their mentor after all. That's a special bond."
Toph Beifong	"They already know I'm proud when I don't throw rocks at their heads!" Toph hisses back at Sokka, stubborn. All while the three students look uncertain about what's going on. "Uh, I don't really need a hug..." Penga begins, interrupted by The Dark One who grumbles. "I hate hugs." "Does Sifu Toph even hug...?" Ho Tun asks the other two. And Toph mutters under her breath. "See? They know me, and you know how I am towards my students. If I go soft on them they won't learn how to be proper metalbenders!"
Sokka	Sokka sighed for a moment and then nodded. Then used the evil line. "Right I guess you know best. I just know when I was training and succeeded it would have really made me feel a lot better if my master had given me a hug. But I guess positive reinforcement isn't that important." He was totally guilt tripping her. "Though I guess I could just give her a hug instead." He grins to her. "Besides. you're plenty soft when you need to be and you're the best metal bender ever."
Toph Beifong	"You're just like your sister, you know that?" Toph asides to him, recalling how Katara had talked to her about positive reinforcement, gentle judges and crud like that. Toph Beifong is /not/ gentle in her teaching methods. "If you're trying to make me feel bad, it's not working," the blind teen informs him with a huff. "Also, I'm the inventor of metalbending, of course I'm the best at it! And who are you calling soft?!" Ugh, fine! If he's going to be like that... Toph steps forward towards Penga, who looks surprised. Slowly Toph extends her hand, places it on the younger girl's shoulder... and pats it twice. "Good going. Now you explain how you did it to Ho Tun and the Dark One." Face it, Sokka. The only person she is gentle with is you.
Sokka	Sokka grinned and then put a hand on Toph's shoulders. "That, Penga, was Toph's way of saying she's very proud of you and she thinks you're a great student." Pause. "Also, that she'll put up with a TON from her boyfriend." He then sat down and grinned and... Totally put an arm around Toph's shoulders as they ate. "So, Penga, how about you tell us what it was like? You finally did it, so you must be really excited, right?" he asked with that big dopey grin. He'd also completely missed the other girl having a crush, too. As was the sokka way. How many broken hearts had he left in his wake? And he did take his hand off her shoulder after a bit... And instead lightly held her hand under the table.
Toph Beifong	The only comment Sokka gets to his interpretation of Toph's words and action is a slight huff, as well as Toph crossing her arms across her chest when Sokka wraps one arm around her shoulders. But she doesn't grumble nor complain, instead she follows Sokka to the table and sits down next to him. Penga meanwhile is excited, chittering away about what she thought about, like shoes and stuff, but then she had noticed something in the metal and gotten it to move a bit... and then it flew towards Sokka's forehead. The others don't have an easy time getting a word in, and so Toph focuses on eating. Though she pauses a bit when she feels Sokka's hand move from her shoulder... and down to her hand. Her expression remains unchanged, but underneath the table, her fingers entwine with his, squeezing his hand in return.
