Owner Pose
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli was sitting on her butt, playing a video game on the couch. Why? It was her punishment! she was finally being punished for her misdeeds. For all the awful, horrible things she'd done.

She was punished by playing video games, helping the union, learning to cook and basically being a servant. And she loved it. She felt she was helping and earning her forgiveness.

She'd have told Luna where they lived, of course. And she was wearing her purple kimono with the gray sash and black snowflakes now. The sound of little pew pews could be heard as she rapidly tapped the controller, trying to beat the stage. She was still on the first one... it wasn't even a hard game. She just sucked.
Princess Luna      And so, knowing where Lapis lived, Luna had come by to help with the torturous punishment. The tall alicorn woman knocks politely on the door, then waits as her ethereal mane and tail flowing elegantly in the seabreeze. She looks around, then up...and up and up at the huge statue that is carved into the cliff. "...someone must have had a very high opinion of herself." she says, smiling lightly.

It is a rather lovely location, Luna notes to herself. House on a sandy beach, the ocean gently lapping at the shore, and a boardwalk nearby. After taking in the sights, Luna peeks inside the dwelling. "Hello? Lapis Lazuli? Art thou home?"
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli blinked, looked up. Doot doot doot. "Nooooo!" And so, she fell again. She looked back up to the door though, and gasped. "Luna!" she said happily, before jumping to her feet. She slowly walked over. Slowly, because kimonos were not made for running.

She soon moved to the door, pulling it open and smiling to the woman. 'You have decided to visit me? This is wonderful! I wish Steven was here, but perhaps if you're lucky he will arrive during your visit," she said happily, a big grin on her face. "You have arrived at the perfect time. I'm being punished!" she said oh so happily, motioning to the television. She... still hadn't realized this was a mock punishment.
Princess Luna      Luna smiles happily as Lapis greets her, then blinks when she looks at the television. "Oh..my. What a..." Luna sounds a bit confused, but as Lapis seems so happy about it, Luna just smiles. "...dreadful punishment! I am sure it is most terrible to be locked in thy home with naught but these electronic entertainment devices to keep thee company. Art though allowed to have guests whilst being punished?" she says even as she steps inside. The punishment seems more like a case of humoring Lapis, so Luna suspects that there are no real restrictions on Lapis's activities.

Luna makes her way over to the television, then hmms. "Pray tell, what game is this?" she asks before taking a seat on the sofa, her wings folding carefully behind her to avoid getting squished between the couch and herself.
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nodded. "Yes. As long as I try to beat the stage, Rose is happy." She motioend inside and soon sat by the girl. "Jump mega ultra man fourteen crystal shards and an orb on planet x, featuring knuckles. It's a strange game. And it's not just this. It's... well... I have to... help... the union. As requested. Because I..."

She shuddered and then dropped the remote, hugging herself. The fact she was tryin to play with the remote might also explain why she was doing so poorly. "I fused with Rose and did... some bad things. I hurt her and... and I hurt Steven. And so now I'm being punished," she mumbled gently.
Princess Luna      Luna hmms. "That is an unusual punishment. But, video games can be quite frustrating." she says. Her ears perk as Lapis drops the remote, then Luna stands again and places a hand on Lapis's shoulder. "We must all accept our punishments." she says, then gives a squeeze. "But, no one can punish us as effectively as we punish ourselves. It is a lesson my sister taught me, and I have had much trouble trying to forgive myself for my transgressions. As yet, I have failed to do so."

Luna smiles lightly after that. "Does this game allow a second player?" she asks, trying to divert Lapis's attention from self-loathing to fun again. "If not, I would be delighted to watch thee in thy punishment."
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nodded. "Oh,m yes, there is." She then blinked and perked up. "I-I have been trying other things, too! New things! I have learned how to cook! Would you like to try some of the foods I can make? I know how to make the waffles now. Do you want to try? I can do it while you play?"

She barely even listened, running off to go get it done, already super excited to be cooking for her friend. Yes, it seemed a lot of her self loathing was being washed away by her punishment,.
Princess Luna      "Oh! I love waffles!" Luna says as Lapis runs off. Luna giggles a bit to herself as she watches Lapis, then sits down again and picks up the controller. Soon the alicorn princess is mashing buttons and letting out little squeaks and yelps and growls as she fights through the level. Using the actual game controller. Luna is a bit of a closet gamer herself, so she probably does a little better than Lapis at this game. "This is a lovely-eep!-..er..location. Did thee and thy friends build this dwelling, or didst thou purchase it?" Luna says as she plays the game.
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli shrugs. "I don't know. They've lived here for well over a thousand years. Though the house is new. It wasn't here before when I was last used." ... About... years where she wasn't used. "it's quite pleasant, though. Beautiful, even. I like the water outside."

She started making thew waffles. She was not good at it. First, she was making pancakes. Second, she used wayyyy too much water. Third, she was making a huuuuge mess. As in, Pearl was going to have a stroke, mess. But she was doing better than her first few times. And, of course, she drank some of the watery mix as well. "Ahhhhh. Such a nice flavor." Then she tossed in some apple juice.

Before long a plate of messy, slightly burnt and undercooked pancakes were put in front of her. "Waffles!" she said happily..

The game wasn't that hard. But if you lost all your lives, you did have to start from the very beginning. She had made it to the second stage a few times... just not consistently.
Princess Luna      Luna manages to make it to the second stage by the time 'waffles' are done, but sets the controller down when they are presented. "...these are not waffles." she says, but picks up a fork nonetheless. It is not the worst thing Luna has ever tasted, so she smiles to Lapis. "But, they are decent." she adds after swallowing. "If thou art devout in they studies, thou shalt be making masterful waffles before long." she says before taking another bite. The apple juice helps cover up the burnt/undercooked flavors, and Luna makes a show of enjoying the waffles that are actually pancakes.

As she eats, Luna looks at Lapis. "Is it just thee and this Steven that inhabit this dwelling?" she asks before looking around the room again for signs of co-habitation.
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli shook her head. "Oh, no. I actually don't technically live here at all. I ummm, what's the term. Oh! I'm freeloading, yes, that," she said so happily, with a big smile. She then frowned. "Are you sure? The container the mix came from said they were waffles." Sadly, she was following the pancake instructions. "What am I doing wrong? Am I not using enough water?"
Princess Luna      Luna blinked, then giggles lightly before standing and giving Lapis a little hug with one arm. "Perhaps I may be of assistance." she says before taking Lapis's hand and heading to the kitchen. "Unfortunately, more water may not be the solution. I suspect all thou really needs is a waffle iron. It is very difficult to make waffles without one. I would say thou hast done a magnificent job considering it seems thou did not use one at all."

Luna probably just adds to the mess as she roots through the cabinets for a waffle iron. But, as this is not her house, she has difficulty finding one. And so...she summons one! Luna's horn glows brightly and a waffle iron appears in her hand. This one is square, and seems made to be placed over a burner. Luna sets it down on the stove, then motions to it. "Now, thou need only open it, pour an appropriate amount of batter in the middle of it, then close it. And in mere moments thou shalt have waffles!"
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nodded, staring at it with awe. "Ohhhh. So it's that tool! Oh, yes, I am aware of that tool. I tried to use it before, but I don't think i used it right. Pearl saw it after I was done, made a weird sound and then told me I am no longer allowed to use any of the tools in the kitchen..." She looked sad. "But then she said after that I could use the stove, but only with supervision."

She then blinked. "Oh, right. The owners of the house are Rose, Steven, Pearl, Amethyst and Garnet." One of those names is not like the other~
Princess Luna      Luna stares a bit herself as she listens. What could one do to cause oneself to be banned from using pots and pans? "I..see." she says, then smiles again. "So, two of thy housemates are humans?" she asks as she scoops some pancake mix and pours it over the open waffle iron before closing it. Luna waits about a minute before turning the iron over, to make sure both sides are properly cooked. "Art all of thee freeloading?" she asks cheerfully. It is nice to have friends, and even nicer to have a friend who understands you.
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nodded. "Oh, yes. I don't think they pay money. But they save the world and keep it from being destroyed, so I imagine that counts." She grinned happily. "Oh, they're all gems, like me. Except steven. He's half gem. I think. It's... weird.

She shrugged and watched her work. "So why do you only fill the one end? Should you not fill both sides so it properly works?"
Princess Luna      Luna blinks at that, then thinks. "On my world, a rose is a flower. What sort of...ah, a quartz." Luna smiles after that. "A half-gem. How did that happen?" she asks before raising a finger. "One might think that, but it is designed so that when one closes it..." Luna opens the iron, and there is a waffle! "...the sections compress the batter, spreading it over the many ridges and textures of the iron. Then, when the batter expands, it fills the other side of the iron." she says, then transfers the waffle to a plate using her magic. "There. Try that one." Luna says, holding the plate out to Lapis, smiling cheerfully. "I suggest maple syrup as a topping."
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli blinked and stared at it. "Oh, wow." She grabbed it, even though still pipping hot. She took a bite and blinked, "Wow. That is much tastier." She chewed happily, her eyes closing as she very gently nibbled on it. Then took some syrup and drank straight from the bottle.

She was still learning the whole eating thing.

She did, however, smile none the less, walking back, still clasping the waffle in both hands and chewing along the edge like a caterpillar with a leaf.
Princess Luna      Luna starts to caution Lapis, but...the gem doesn't seem to feel pain from grabbing the piping hot waffle. She starts to stop Lapis from drinking the syrup, but...just giggles instead. And smiles warmly as Lapis walks with the waffle in hand, nibbling at it like that. Luna walks back with her, finishing off her pancakes. Then, all she has to do is watch Lapis nibble that waffle. "Yes, cooking usually works much more effectively when one has the correct tools and techniques." she says, smiling gently. "I am far from an expert cook, but I know enough to get by. Do you enjoy cooking?"
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli blinked a few times and then nodded rapidly. "Oh, yes, cooking is so easy. I love it. You just do what you're told or follow the directions and you know what happens when you do it wrong?"

She leaned in close and smiled. "No one dies! No one suffers! No one gets hurt! No one gets mad! You mess up, you just mess up! And then you can try again! you get do overs! Cooking is the best thing ever. I've also grown quite partial to dancing. But sometimes people get hurt with that."

She went back to nibbling her waffle happily, if she had a tail it would be wagging as she watched the other woman play the game. "I'm happy you came to visit me. Is it okay? Will your homeworld be in danger while you're gone?"
Princess Luna      Luna giggles again as Lapis decribes cooking, and she nods gently in agreement. "It is rare for a serious injury to happen while dancing unless one is performing a particularly difficult or risky move." she says as she plays. The question about her world draws a thoughtful 'hmm' from Luna. "Perhaps. My homeworld is always in danger from something. But, my sister is there. As are the six defenders of my world, holders of the Elements of Harmony. I am thankfully not the sole defender of my world. And to be quite honest, I am not the most powerful defender. The Elements are the key to my world's defense and tranquility. As long as they are around, my world is safe."

Luna pauses the game at that point. Because Lapis is much more interesting than a side-scrolling platformer. "And what about thee? Art thou involved in the defense of this world?"
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nodded, listening to her. So she wasn't the defender, that sounded good. Then she paled and shook her head, hugging her knees to her chest.

"No no no no no no no. No. I don't fight. I'm not a fighter. No. I-I just... I just help. I-i can use my powers when needed, to move things. Or fly places. But... but when I... fight..." She shuddered. "It's so scary," she whispered. "Things don't make any sense. One moment there's two people and your throwing water at them, then there's two more, then three more, a-and then they come from all sides, y-you don't know what to do, so you shoot water everywhere, b-but then you have friends nearby, so you have to pull it back and... and it's so... scary..."
Princess Luna      Luna's ears lay back as Lapis breaks down a bit. She understands the gem's concerns, though. It is a concern for any powerful warrior on any battlefield. One wrong step, one power not held back enough, and friends could be hurt. "It is, I agree." she says, giving Lapis's shoulder a squeeze. "But, we can help our friends without fighting. Such as...cooking! Cooking is a wonderful way to help one's friends. A good meal can contribute not only to a healthy body, but to a healthy mind."

Luna pulls Lapis against her side and smiles. "No one will force thee to fight. And if someone tries, thou hast many friends that would aid in thy defense." She gives Lapis a squeeze, then giggles a bit. "Let us forget about all of that for now. I belive I know a game that would serve us well. It is entirely based on dancing! I shall have to bring it by when next we 'hang out'."
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli blinked when she was pulled in. This was a hug. This was a friend thing. This was a steven thing. She smiled and closed her eyes, resting her head on Luna's shoulder and smiling.

"Y-yes. I'd rather help that way. Moving water. Cooking. Helping. I just... I just don't want to fight. I'm not... I'm not strong like Pearl. I can't fight with things and... and not be afraid. I can't run in and know everything will be okay. I'm so scared ofj ust being... trapped again." She looked up to luna.

"Oh? What game is it? Is it fun? I do enjoy dancing without fusion."
Princess Luna      Luna gives another little squeeze. "I doubt Pearl is not afraid when she fights. I doubt anyone is without fear when they fight, except perhaps villains who place no value on life. But, sometimes we have to fight. And when that happens, it is not about having no fear. It is about standing up, defending what we believe in, despite being afraid." She looks at Lapis after that. "But, do not worry about that. The game is called Dancing Machine. It relies on a rug-like controller that allows your dance steps to be tracked, and the game applies points depending on how accurate your steps are." Luna considers a moment, then her horn glows a bright blue. "Perhaps I can reach it from here..."

It takes a minute, but when the spell fades her game system and the game have appeared on the floor beside the TV. "Ah, there we go." she says happily, then moves to hook up the system.
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nodded. "Not pearl. She's... as long as Pearl is there, she's fine. She's always happy. She doesn't worry about..." Okay, even she knew that was a lie. "She's just... stronger than I am." In more ways than one.

She then blinked as the machine was being set up. She cocked her head to the side, watching it with confusion. "Such a... strange devices. So... how does it work?" DDR, I assume? Either way, once it got started, this she was oddly good at. Well, of course she was. She was graceful. And it required her to follow orders. She was good at that.
Princess Luna      Luna finishes setting up the game, then turns it on. "Do not worry about that for now. Instead...let us dance!" Luna rolls out a mat long enough for someone to stretch out on, which is connected to the console by a wire. And yes, it is DDR. Luna's ears perk at Lapis's comment. "Strange? It is very similar to the game which thou were playing when I arrived." she says, then smiles. "Shall we dance together, or as competitors?" Luna asks once everything is ready. She steps onto the over the 'Player 1' area, a circle surrounded by arrows in all the compass directions. The game turns on, and music explodes even on the title screen while a colorful character dances in a demo.
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli blinked and then gulped. "Can... can we just dance together, please? I don't want to fight you." Probably for the best. She might take cempetitors the wrong way and, well, Equestria likely wouldn't be happy if she stabbed their princess of the night.

She moved to stand by her, giving a little smile. "So we jsut tap our feet along on the commands as needed? That doesn't seem so hard.
Princess Luna      Luna smiles sympathetically at that and nods. "Of course. We can dance together and attempt to receive the high score!" Luna says happily. She steps on the appropriate pads to get the game going, then hmms. "This game is remarkably complex. We can dance many different styles, but yes. Basically thou shalt have to step on the indicated arrows at the appropriate times to gain points."

Luna scrolls through songs until she finds one with a medium speed and a strong beat. Then, she holds out a hand to Lapis. They are dancing together, right? The game starts counting down, and arrows can already be seen scrolling down. It seems like holding hands isn't really required, but it might make things more fun!
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli likes holding hands, so she has no objections. Soon, the two are dancing along merily and she is actually having a lot of fun. Giving soft little giggles as she goes, gently spinning and moving and... she's annoyingly good at this. As in, she could easily move from one step to the next, next missing a beat or anything. Even when she did extra moves and...

And she dipped the princess at one point. It was strange. She took dancing together to mean quite literally. And had no idea how the game was supposed to be played aside from hit the buttons so 'luna's mat' and 'lapis' mat' kind of lost a lot of meaning.
Princess Luna      Luna is soon letting out little eeps and giggles as well. Luna is caught off guard by the dip, but she just laughs and lets her arms stretch out above her head, parallel to the floor. Games aren't really about winning, after all. They are about having fun. Luna twirls once she is lifted up again, and proves herself to be a worthy match for Lapis. Though not quite as good at dancing, she too is graceful and strong and flexible. So, as the song progresses, they end up just dancing to the song rather than really playing. Luna does try to point out that they should be stepping on the colored arrows in time with the scrolling screen, but doesn't really try to enforce that. And, helpfully, in cooperative mode the steps actually flow across both mats, so they might do better than expected as far as points go.
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nodded and smiled as she went. Well, she usually managed to step on the arrows with the beat. Sure, sometimes it was the arrows on lapis mat, sometimes the ones on luna's mat, but it was the right arrows at the right time, that had to count for something, right?

But best of all, she was giggling. Smiling. Laughing. Having fun. And she looked so happy as she spun around and dipped and danced. It was a much funner game than the other where she kept falling into the pit.
Princess Luna      And that was what Luna wanted. Lapis seems much like Luna when Luna first emerged from captivity. Fearful of failure, self-hating, afraid that everything she does might be wrong. But, Luna has worked past much of that. Now, she wants to help Lapis work past it. And that starts by having fun with friends!

The song ends after only a few minutes. Luna lets out a disappointed sound as it ends, then smiles brightly. "Thou art a wonderful dancer! I am sure thy steps would amaze an entire crowd at a recital!" Luna says happily before finally releasing Lapis's hand. "Thou art welcome to keep the game and system. I can always aquire another. And, it is still a lot of fun to dance alone on this game." she says, then looks around conspiritorially. "But, if thou art still being punished, they might force thee to dance all the time. It would be rather terrible."
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli blinked and then shook her head. "I... I don't really... like to dance alone, though," she said softly. She smiled gently to her. "Take it with you. That way you have more reason to come over? Or... I can have more reasons to come by as well?" Awwww, she was so naive about friendships. She didn't know she was only supposed to THINK that, not actually say it!
Princess Luna      Luna blinks as well, then smiles warmly. "Very well." she says, then collects the game equipment. "But, thou need no reasons to come visit. Merely the fact that we are friends gives the permission to visit without any reason other than thy desire to visit." she says. She gives Lapis a firm hug. "Thank thee for thy waffles, and thy company. I hope to see thee again soon." Luna says, then heads for the door. Her wings stretch a bit before she steps out, ready to fly home.
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli watches her go, a big smile on her face. She eyes the weird girl. The girl who was just like her in so many ways. She couldn't help it. She slowly walked towards her, watching her leave with a big grin on her face. She had a friend. She had a real, true friend and it was awesome. It meant to world to her. They even danced, with no ulterior motives. She was already mentally making plans to visit again. And to tell rose all about her fun!
