Sokka Sokka was rocking back and forth in Toph's chair. He'd come in, full of bluster and pride and sent her students off with a threat from 'Wang Fire'. Then went to her office to wait, tossing off the fake beard and just lounging in his casual wear. Unfortunately, he'd hit a snag.

He was borrrrrred. He hummed and looked around. What to do, what to do... Then his eyes narrowed on the earth bending belt. Oh... yes. No! He couldn't! He mustn't! He...

Already was. He'd picked it up and clipped it on. "Ohhh, you think you can take me on? I'm Sokka! And I'm... gonna rock yah!" And stomped a foot down, hodling out his hands as he made fake cheering crowd sounds.
Toph Beifong     "I told you, he was from the Fire Nation army!"

"We're doomed! Our academy is doomed!"

In front of her the students are rushing ahead to the academy up the hill. And looking quite more stressed than Toph herself is. Ho Tun as usual is worried and thinking about doom, Penga is a bit annoyed and The Dark One? He sounds like he's grumbling. But whatever, she might as well let them ramble on. At least until they reach the academy. "You guys go back to your exercises," she orders them, narrowing her eyes slightly as they enter. Through her unique sense of seeing with her feet she can see just who's inside her room.

The door slams open to Toph's room, and she's standing there in the doorway, one hand on her hip as she arches an eyebrow. "So you're thinking of taking my belt again, huh?" It's not without some humour though, and as she says her next words she does look amused. "You did have my students pretty riled up, I'll give you that." Wang Fire, heh. That was funny when they did that pranking in the Fire Nation when she thinks about it.
Sokka Sokka eeped, turning when the door opened. The belt crashed to the ground and he cringed. "Heh heh. Well, you know. Figured I'd best come in with an explosion. who better for that than Wang Fire?"

A grin was on his lips none the less as he walked forward and scooped her up in a big hug. "So, how's the greatest earth bender in the world, huh? I think you've gotten taller! Much more and you'll come up to my chest!" he joked, reaching out to ruffle her hair. "Been keeping out of trouble?" Then, in a much lighter tone. "But not keeping out of too much trouble, I bet."
Toph Beifong     Always trust on Sokka to lighten the mood. Toph does snicker a bit as she crosses her arms across her chest, grinning from ear to ear as she thinks back to Sokka's funny alter ego. "Heh, true that..."

Though the moment he walks word and scoops her up in a big hug the girl isn't exacly prepared for it, her eyes widening and her cheeks flaring up as she lets out a slight yelp. And then tries her best to punch him in the side, though not too hard. "H-hey, I prefer my feet on the floor!" she protests, turning her face away when he sets her down again. And his next comment about her height earns Sokka another punch, this time to the arm he isn't ruffling her hair with. "Well," she begins on the subject of keeping out of trouble, "I've been busy with the academy, though there's lots of stuff in the Union I haven't been able to keep up with a lot lately." He should know about the Union by now, considering she's been talking about it now and then.
Sokka Sokka grinned wide at her. "Oh yes, your academy." He took on a very mock-wise tone as he crossed his arms and nodded. "Mmmm. Indeed. Your three students must be quite spectacular, master metal benders all by now I imagine. However, when I arrived, they seemed pretty jumpy. In fact, one could almost say they were a bit... rocky~" He grinned again and rubbed his arm. That'd be bruising later.

"Ah yeah, the union guys. They're the whole... ones responsible for there being a bunch of new magic popping in everywhere, aren't they? And here I thought Aang's spirit world would be the only other world out there. So, tell me..." He leaned in closely, sounding dead serious.

"These other places. What kind of meat do they have?"
Toph Beifong     Does Toph look a bit... down for a bit when Sokka mentions her students? "Well... they don't really know metalbending that well yet. They can wriggle the coins, but... nothing useful yet," she sighs. Though she does let out a snort at the pun. Yes, it's easy to miss Sokka when he isn't there.

The Union people. People from other worlds with strange powers and technology. Toph /has/ been spending a lot of time with them, especially after the war in this world was over. "Eh, I dunno what the spirit world is like, but the worlds out there are kinda cool."

When he leans in closer though, Toph blinks and stands still. Then grins when he poses his question. Of course he would want to know.

"You don't know meat until you've tried spareribs, Snoozles," she states. "As a matter of fact, you remember that guy I told you about? The Stark guy?" Of course she had let Sokka and the others know she had been taken under the wing of some people from another world who had insisted of taking care of her while she was in the multiverse. "He makes some pretty awesome meat stuff. And there's tons of different styles of preparing food that you haven't tried before." She pauses for a bit, then kicks the floor to bend the belt up so she can snatch it in mid air and hang it back up on the wall, a pensive look on her face. "There's so many different people out there too, and well... it's kinda fun exploring it all, you know?"
Sokka Sokka nods, crossing his arms as he listens to her. Something seemed to have her upset a little. Then he blinked, a grin forming on his lips. "Oh ho ho ho. Could it be? Why, yes it is." He moved over and patted her on the back. "Toph, I know exactly what you're thinking!" Wait, he does? "To imagine, this Stark character has captured the heart of our little earth bender." Aaaand he had no idea, wiping a fake tear from his eyes. "Well, I for one am not sure I approve! However, I'm sure after you introduce me to him, sayyyyy, over one of these meals you just mentioned, spare ribs? Yes, those sound like they'd be good. I can see if he's truly worthy of your heart." He had no clue at all, but fortunately it seems his motivations were less on her heart and more on his stomach.

"And really? I figured any student of yours would be a master by now. Maybe I can see one of your training sessions, give you some pointers. Now, I know I may not know all your fancy magic tricks, but I think I've got the basic down. Just stand still, don't let anything knock you over, right?" he asked with a cocky grin.

"Then maybe I'll come with you, explore some of this. Things with the water tribe have calmed down, so I've been thinking of checking out these other worlds a bit. Show them how we do things, water tribe style. We're the coolest, after all."
Toph Beifong     At that misassumption Toph does her best to give Sokka a deadpan look. Then aims to punch him for a third time, this time a bit roughly in his abdomen. "First of all, he's over fourty years old. Secondly, he's my dad now. Third, he's married. Weren't you listening when I told you guys about it?" Ugh. Silly boys. Silly Sokka.

And as always Sokka thinks he can help with bending stuff. Which makes Toph snicker and shake her head. "It's kinda like how when I was teaching Aang... they just need to get that 'ah hah' moment where they suddenly realize what they're supposed to be doing, you know. And metalbending is a bit different... but they will get it, I'm certain of it. I actually did find one person from another world who's a student here, but she's also doing some... other stuff on the side." Peridot is something different alright.

At the suggestion of him coming with her to the multiverse though, that makes Toph pause and consider. Hmmm. Sokka... in the Union? Well, why not? It's not like they don't need people, and Sokka has fought before. And there's always a need for some idea guys, as he calls it. "You know what... why not?" With that she grins. "Heck, you could meet my other family and the friends I've made out there. Try the new food, kick some Confederate ass..." Now, where was the closest Union center?
Sokka Sokka blinked a few times. "Oh, a home wrecker, huh? Eh heh... ow." He rubbed his chest, giving a nod. "Ah, right. Well, you know, sometimes I just have trouble focusing during our meet and greets. You know with how Aang goes on and on with peace this, eternal freedom that, don't even get me started on Zuko." He picked some earwax out of his ear.

"Welp, I'm sure if you need the help, you know where to find me. Besides, I help Katara and Aang all the time." Yes, because making sarcastic comments then getting frozen counts as 'help'.

"Cool! Let's go get some of these food things you mentioned! So, spare ribs, are they called that because the animal they come from has extra ribs? And wait, confederate? They're the whole... fire nation-ish guys, aren't they?" Oh, zuko would probably LOVE to hear that.
Toph Beifong     At that Toph can't help but roll her eyes. "Yeah, tell me about it. They tend to be rather... wordy." Why not say things simple and straight to the point? "They both can learn a bit when it comes to not babbling."

So it's decided, huh... Toph nods, then motions for Sokka to follow her. "Let's get going then. We can head off to the nearest Union center so you can sign up, and we'll get some good food at the same time! And a radio so you can talk with the other Union people." Heck, that ought to be fun to listen to!

"Well, the Conferedates aren't Fire Nation, though they have been working with them for a while. And the Feds think a lot like the Fire Nation, which consists of bossing people around. In a bad way, I mean."

Heading out of the room and to the main hall Toph turns to the students, who are standing there, all three of them. "Lily livers, Wang Fire and I are heading out. Keep up your training, I'll be back later." But of course the students look a bit confused, and the young girl Penga speaks up. "So we're not being taken over by the Fire Nation?!" In the meanwhile The Dark One frowns, looking very much like the emo teen he is. Ho Tun in the meanwhile appears to be confused. "Wait, he's... not Fire Nation?"
Sokka Sokka nods, following behind her. "Oh yeah. How can it take an hour and a half to say what I could say in four words? 'Stuff happened. Everything's chill.'"

"Hmmm? Radio? Sounds fun. Tell me more about this food you speak of. I assume it will match my impeccible tastes."

Of course, as they were heading out, he stepped forward. Time for motivation. "Oh, you'd best believe I'm fire nation!" Oh gosh. Well, technically that wasn't a lie, he wasn't saying he was. "And for now, the great Wang Fire and Toph Beifong are heading out to deal with matters. But eventually, I will return! And you'd all be best ready to defend yourselfs like proper metal benders or... fire nation~" He totally sauntered on out. Oh gosh. She'd have to tell them, right? It'd be cruel not to at this point.
Toph Beifong     "Exactly!" Toph smirks. And man, Sokka is as obsessed with meat as always. Good that some things are the same.

The students aren't too slow, and it might appear that The Dark One is seeing through the ruse, considering Toph seems rather at ease with this 'Wang Fire' person here. "Guys, it's one of Sifu Toph's friends," he informs the other two, and simultaneously Penga and Ho Tun realizes what's going on. "Sifu Toph /is/ friends with the Fire Lord though, isn't she?" "So... it might make sense that she knows other people from there..." Cue the Dark One letting out a huff before he turns back to his bending exercises.

"Your beard might not be good enough to fool them," Toph comments with a grin. "Okay, so the recruiter might go through some stuff with you when we get there, but I can fill you in on the basics... might save us some time. OR we could head straight to Njorun station and eat there after you've signed up?" That might actually work rather well. Especially if some of the other Union peeps want to meet Sokka too.
Sokka Sokka sighed and crossed his arms. "I KNEW I should have worn the eye patch, too. Oh well." He then held out his hand and coughed into his hand. "Lady Toph? Shall I escort thee, then, to the station of the union? Mmmmmm?" he said in his overly mocking stuffy voice, before grinning.

"And yeah, fill me in on all the basics. And you know, if you ever need help, all you have to do is ask. I may not be a bender like you, but... I am still a bender." He posed dramatically. " A bender... of motivation! And boomerangs. And sometimes swords. And once that metal pole when I was fleeing from that woman with that frying pan but MOSTLY motivation."
Toph Beifong     "Honestly, I think I'll be the one leading the way!" Toph points out with good humour. Oh yeah, it might help the Union with a motivationbender around. This ought to be interesting.
