Danse One relatively uneventful evening, the old HAM radio, no doubt significantly souped up for use at the Weston Water Treatment Plant, comes to life. The transmission is faint, at first, having to fight hard to overcome the ambient radiation noise as well as what might be a poorly maintained set on the other end, but eventually the voice does come through with enough clarity to alert the Communications Raider(tm) that he should snap out of his ongoing nap at the controls. "Hnn?" He slightly tweaks the fine tuning to clean things up, and make certain it's not one of those automated beacons that regularly leads people to their doom. Even Raiders sometimes use these for short and medium range coordination. Once he's certain it's actually live he calls to Rory's Ecto, "Hey boss! There's somebody coming throught the radio, let me get it on the loudspeakers." Then he can get back to his Jet-deprived nap.

Without further prompting, the voice comes out of the treatment plant's sound system. Those that had been around before would recognize it as the poor, allegedly Synth young woman, Lindsie! The message is a bit cut off, but it seems she's repeating it in full, as she starts from the beginning. "Hello? Weston? This is Lindsie. I'm alive, but I need a little bit of help. I'm not going to broadcast my coordinates, but...I know you guys can find me, if you're even listening. I've found a place that I think can help me, and others in my situation, but it's a long trip. So...if you can. If you don't reply, I guess I'll just try to get there on my own, in a day or two. Thanks..." She does repeat it once more, but either she's switched it to a recorded most for the last loop through, or her radio's actual receiver element isn't working this evening.

Scribe Haylen's voice is the next to be overheard, also over the communications facilities, "That a friend of yours? I won't pry too deep into what's going on over there, but Paladin Danse had wanted to scout up that way, anyway, if you could use some company." The way she's suggesting it makes it sound like it's more her idea, to try and get the poor guy out of the police station, and coincidentally out of her hair for a while. The signal, itself, seems to be coming from close to where Earth's usual Lexington would be. Local maps that Rory would have access to, in particular, point it to being within sight of something called the Corvega Factory, and its towering (but dormant) flues and chemical storage tanks would have been hard to miss, even from as far away as Cambridge.

Of course, being from an old amateur radio set, it was a completely unencrypted transmission. Anyone could have easily overheard it just the same.
Kyle Katarn     Kyle about springs to attention when he hears Lindsie's voice over the radio. "Haven't heard from her in a while." he says, before he hops up from the couch. "We'd better investigate this if we can. I'm heading out." He tells Rory, before doing pretty much exactly that.

"...you can track the transmission and where it's from right?" He asks, before he actually does leave the compound, already in the middle of pulling on gloves and a crash helmet for his speeder bike.

Once the signal IS traced, Kyle will be already on his speeder bike, well on his way to going towards Corvega Factory, his hovering vehicle zooming with some sort of bizarre humming whine.
Rory White "Good work!" Rory sends back to her dedicated observer! She's quick to come forth from the depths of the pumping station, where she's been running quality control tests on the filters. Radiation is tricky to deal with!

Her white robes swish to and fro as she heads out of the settlement. And they hide plenty of weapons. As always, the sky above hosts a few Saucer drones providing a bird's eye view of the situation.

"Of course we could! If he wishes to. Looks like we're headed to Lexington... it's quite a trek. And we need to move fast because we may not be the only ones interested in this transmission!"

    Like the Institute. Or Raiders.

"Hopefully they won't interfere." She murmurs to nobody as she checks over her gear. The white robes and highly realistic synthskin hide the fact that she's wearing metamaterial combat armor... and a combat-grade robot.

But she doesn't like the idea of tussling with a Courser over this. Or this Railroad whose name has come to her attention a few times. Whoever they are.
Kotone Yamakawa How do you even deal with something like that? Someone finding out they are not what they thought they are? That leaves Kotone in a very thought ful mood. She's not expecting a fight so actually comes in something other than the stealth armour she's been known to wear. She was wearing a sleeveless long coat tank top, shorts and leggging and seeme to be more than a bit somber. She was a bit behind Rory and she tilt her head. Though to say Kotone wasn't armed, would be folly and she's got a scout drone hovering at her shoulder too, she hopes ED-I won't get jelous of it the next time she runs into Johnny and them.

"So shall we see what we can do? If we need to hustle we should be able to sprint at a good clip if ... everyone else can keep up or be carried if needed."
Silica     Union Medical.

"Alright Keiko, just like last time. We'll monitor your vitals. If things get dangerous we've rigged this Amusphere to crash-drop you out of the Dive." the doctor says, as the seventeen year old lays on the bed and puts the Amusphere. "O-Okay doctor... I'll try and be careful." she replies, offering a smile, before laying back, relaxing then speaking the key phrase. "Link Start!"

Silica opens her eyes, looks around her room in the Cait Sith capital. She checks her equipment, then gets a move on, running outside and expanding her wings as soon as she's in a flight area. She leaps up and using the technique Kirito showed the group, pushes her speed to the game-engine's maximum. She swoops through that hidden warpgate out into the Multiverse proper, then through another set to reach the indicated meeting point for the group. As suggested, she's flying low to the ground, keeping as concealed as possible while in the air and maintaining speed. She /does/ have to drop to walking after her wings start to run out, the golden hue fading gradually, and a warning window appears in her GUI HUD. She keeps a good pace, and comes trotting up to the group with her friend Pina draped around her shoulders.
Danse It's more of a moving rendezvous than a static meet up. Rory had a point in being a bit more urgent than usual, as the open nature of the broadcast could have just as easily been picked up by raiders, or even more dangerous actors. East out of Weston, the now well trod path is the most likely point for everyone to get on the train, as it were, likely with Kyle scouting a bit ahead with the speed afforded by his speeder. Danse also arrives, the power armor's speed able to intercept with ease, when actual straight line distance is all that's required. He slows down and changes course to match the others, with a haste salute to those gathered. "Paladin Danse, on duty. This is somewhat unknown territory, though the population density seems lower on our surveys. Be on your guard."

The signal itself isn't exactly from the Corvega Factory, which is probably a good thing, because rumors would have warned of intense Raider activity emanating from it. Rather, it's from closeby, on the road leading directly out of Lexington, to what by the maps would have been a small coffee shop with a second story living space, a good walk from where the road forks away from entering Cambridge. Nothing aggressive is encountered, just yet, though a few crows do bat their wings and caw annoyedly at the Cait Sith as she invades their perceived air space, even lower to the ground as she is.

What Kyle would encounter first, and everyone else soon after, is one of the caravans that frequent the area, and might even be visiting Weston Settlement, as it has become more commonly known by locals, next. The guards do give a weird look to the sudden line of Elites, one even mouthing, "Hey, what's the rush?" Though they don't seem to be too engaged. One of the pack Brahmin's heads gazes disinterestedly in the column's direction, while the other lets out a slightly annoyed moo at having to step further to the side of the cracked and pitted pavement. That is, before it suddenly staggers and lets out a louder groan of a sound, as something suddenly breaks through the ground.

The Caravan guards move to get between the precious Brahmin and whatever attacked it, as the assailant completely emerges. ...a gigantic scorpion!? It quickly siezes one of the guards in a pincer, drawing blood almost immediately, as the other guard's pipe gun rounds crater the chitinous outer husk, but never seem to quite break through, "Radscorpion! Run, boss!" The caravaneer, himself, beckons the old cow down the road, but seems intent on staying, himself, contributing his own almost ineffectual shots, but trying to aim for the beady little eyes.
Kyle Katarn     "Danse! Good to see you in the field again, about time I say. You're handy in a fight." Kyle greets, hopping off of his swoop when the vehicle pulls up, going to idle in mid-air as he removes his helmet, revealing beard and a big grin as he walks over to the Paladin, clapping his arm with a dull thud.

Approaching Danse like this is a reminder to Kyle of how much like the old Dark Trooper program the Paladin looks in armor. That's...slightly awkward to say the least.

Sadly, small talk doesn't last as Kyle senses some sort of entity approaching. SUDDENLY RADSCORPION!

His hand goes right for the blaster at his hip, aiming the weapon at the creature with a few blaster shots. "Stay back, we got this!" He tells the traders over blaster (and gun) fire.
Silica     Silica nods to the group as she comes trotting up and falling into line. She stakes to the middle-back, the 'support' position. She listens to the group chatter, but doesn't really add her own... at least until the Radscorpion emerges and starts attacking the caravan they'd just passed. "We need to help them!" she cries, turning to engage the monsterous thing, drawing her dagger and pointing at the Radscorpion. "Pina, Bubble Beam!"

Pina lifts off Silica's shoulder, and chirpgrowls, before emitting a stream of bubbles that pop around the Radscorpion, designed to temporarily stun the target. Whether they work on this thing or not, Silica backs up the caravan guards with a short incantation.

"Ek skyt tuttugu smár strioa!" the words locking into place as she speaks them, then condensing into a small circle of yellow light at her outstreched palms. The light then ejects a stream of about twenty short yellow bolts to heckle the heavily armoured creature.
Rory White Spotting the caravan, this is where Rory keeping her weapons hidden and a friendly exterior is most helpful. Apart from the unusual blue hair, she's just... some kind of wandering scientist right? Well, maybe, if you saw them around here often which you don't...

"We're out to meet someone who might be in trou-" She begins to explain, offering no real details but then...

Then, there's a whump. A Brahmin thumping to the ground!

Rory White freezes upon spotting the Radscorpion. She has seen these creatures on video before, but never up close. And now...

Now, as her senses focus and narrow into something akin to bullet time through sheer processing power coming to bear she spots how the piddly caliber these two are using can't even dent CHITIN.

When guns can't pierce a bug's exoskeleton... that's one fearsome invertebrate. Enough to get her wondering.

It's enough to get her hands going for a weapon. She briefly ponders simply using a remote-controlled grenade, but the one guard is too close. So after a half-second of hesitation she instead pulls out... a tazer?

Well it LOOKS like a tazer, as the two electrodes fire off trailing superconductive metamaterial wire. but under her robes, the device is linked directly to her Morph's power supply.

Cooking the thing's innards is her plan, assuming both of the electrodes can pierce that chitin!
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa is making for the signal and she's running at a very good clip without paus as they reach the Settlement and she lows down hopefully before she's spotted and she stares at the huge scorpion she just jaw drops. "I ... oh ou have got to be kittin! GO RUN We'll DEAL WITH IT!"

She notices the locals are shooting for the eyes and she's going to do the same opening up with her SMT and then lobbing a flash grenade at the thing.

"FIRE IN THE HOLE!"
William Pauwel     Will is actually out in the field when the call goes out. He has pretty decent reason, all things considered. After dumping a full trio of fusion cores and exhausting a fourth trying to kill an immortal manifestation of courage, he's pretty much gone thruogh most of his stock. So he's out sniffing for more!

Which is probably why it shouldn't be too much of a surprise when a bolt of blue-white plasma streaks out of the brown, dusty wilderness and joins the frankly unnecessary amount of firepower pouring into the radscorpion. "Hey there, y'all!" Will calls, his greeting muffled behind a pair of air filters and a gas mask. "Fancy seeing y'all all the way out here. You out looking for fresh Cores too?"

Apparently his radio's off. Or maybe he's been far enough out that the ambient radiation's been screwing with it?
Danse Radscorpions are ultimately an ambush predator. Sensing vibrations on the road close to its nest, it naturally had to come check them out and try to sieze a meal. Perhaps it was more expecting easy prey in the way of the traders that frequent the area, than a group that would actually mount a respectable defense, though. For one thing, while the ballistic weapons seem to do pathetically little to it, thanks to its dense exoskeleton, beam, electrical and laser weapons, not to mention the most unexpected risk factor of all, magical sorts of attacks, are something it has not rapidly mutated and evolved to defend against. It lashes out with its tail to unsucessfully try to jab venom into the quickly retreating Brahmin, though thankfully hasn't completely crushed the guard it siezed, yet, when it suddenly pivots to realize there is more than the footsteps it had been stalking down the road.

For one, there's Danse, that had broken off his power armor's run and turns right as Kyle does the same, not hesitating to withdraw the rifle form factor laser he keeps handy and levelling it at the Radscorpion, touching off the hail of fire that instantly distracts the enormous arthropod from what it was doing. The sting once again swings, this time towards Danse's position, though clanks, not finding purchase against the steel encasing, except for a subtle deforming of the outer hull. It also lunges toward Rory, the danger ouf these beasts being apparent in that they can present multiple avenue attacks simultaneously, but as it's about to reach its pincer out to attempt to sieze her like the guard, it suddenly gets a one two punch of stunlock. First is...bubbles, what the hell? The sensation alone would have been enough to puzzle its not-actually-much-more-advanced nerve ganglions. Then Rory's own taser-like attack connects. It's not quite ideal, since she has to aim for the few joints and gaps in the creature's armor, but they're large enough to get enough contact. The downside it is a *big* beast, so while it visibly affects it coordination, it doesn't break off immediately.

Eventually, though, with lasers, blaster bolts, and shortly after bolts of magical energy, and then finally, out of the blue, Will's plasma shot, beginning to ablate (or oddly, seemingly, visibly melt, in the case of the plasma) the organic armor that the large caliber, but low exit velocity, pipe guns can't properly penetrate, it begins to back away from the confrontation. Especially when the flash grenade effectively dulls its senses, it immediately drops the guard it had grabbed in a combination of pain and shock, and it's a good thing that it did. While it isn't *too* damaged, just yet, it seems to prefer to pick its battles more carefully, and begins to try to reburrow into the ground and escape. For such a large animal, the speed with which it's able to penetrate relatively solid ground is likely, somewhat alarming. As for the bloodied guard, the good news is that the resulting wound looks more serious than it is, being mostly a gash to their flesh rather than any deeper tissues, and they stop to catch their breath and unflinchingly administer a stimpak.
Silica     "You're not getting away!" shouts Silica, as she bolts forwards with far more speed than someone of her apparent age and statue really have any business moving. In a flash, her Dagger is out, and with a leap, she unleashes a quivering kiai, and with a flash of her wings, launches herself down to stab her dagger into one of the melted segments of its armour, trying to punch through the weakened outer shell so the elemental effect of her Sword Skill can punch into the soft, squishy bits... freezing it.
William Pauwel     "Hey, you stop there!" Will shouts after the oversized scorpion. Despite the fact that it is very clearly a horrible, irradiated insect, Will seems to have taken to it as if it were some kind of massive, juicy shellfish and adjusts his fire accordingly. Bolts of plasma shriek through the wavering air and slam into the ground near the radscorpion's feet. It looks like Will intends to turn the ground to glass and get the big bug properly stuck in!
Kyle Katarn     "Seriously?" Kyle asks, just as everyone practically dog piles the poor radscorpion. It DID try to kill some hapless traders and their cattle, so there is that he supposes. Sighing, he holsters his sidearm as he watches the others go to town on the creature. "By the Force, even I got my limits. THis is just too cruel even for me." He mutters, before he approaches the traders. "You guys alright?"
Rory White Rory's not pleased that this thing wasn't COOKED by that much power coursing through it. What a monster this thing is! It can't be allowed to grow bigger and stronger!

"Eradicate it! Then we need to hurry on." Although if it does get away... oh well.

She pulls out a laser pistol and starts taking carefully aimed shots at its joints with the kind of calculated accuracy only an AI-assist could pull off!

"Hope there aren't any more of those!" She ambles over towards the traders to give them some protection while they recover. "We can't stay too long, this was an unexpected delay, but if you're headed to Weston it's very safe!"
Kotone Yamakawa Radscorpions okay they were an ambush predator much like their smaller kin but holy hell? For all Kotone has moved from the flesh and that tied with it?The deep primalwiring of mankind is still there at the back of her mind. That isn't hte time for it however she notices the guard someone's going to have to move quick to get tem fully free it doesn't look good and she knows the guard is going to need some heavy medical care evne if they do get them out of there.

However as the beast is driven ofd she sees the guard's already getting medical attention which is good she relaxes a little bit.

"We can't keep dallying around here. If there are more we'll be ready I'm sending a drone ahed."

She'll also move to help Rory with checking on the traders first after all they shouldn't do it half way.
Danse If it were only the glassing effect that Will was going for, the powerful creature probably could have dealt with it, alone. Instead, as it's caught in an awkward half-burrow, it still has its pincers and tail at the ready, but can't easily maneuver otherwise. It's a pretty terrible time to be a radscorpion. With the weakpoints of its chitin similarly exposed and frozen in place, they make an easy target for Silica to leap in and attempt to finish the job, though she'll have to deal with the reaching of claws and the attempted jabs of its tail, still. The good news is it's still mostly blind from Kotone's flash grenade moments prior. When she finally connects, the chill courses through its system. At its size, it's not enough to completely flash freeze it, but being a cold blooded animal, its reaction speed visibly slows.

It starts attempting to break out of the glassed ground, and with how rapidly fractures start appearing, it seems to be meeting with some success. But with the existing wounds, and the laser shots, including from Danse, still pouring into it, it seems to be...well, not dying, due to how animals like this don't have their systems shut down quite like a vertebrate would, especially one of this size. Instead, the decline is more peaceful, as the tail droops to be more of a light wriggle, and its pincers curl inward towards its body as internal muscle fibers cease activity. It's almost like it's going to sleep, rather than perishing.

The traders seem to be okay, the head of the caravan retrieving his Brahmin and making certain no lasting harm had come to her. The nice thing about these beasts is that they're actually pretty rugged, in all respects. The uninjured trader moves to quickly bandage her counterpart, after she puts away her pipe weapon. "Yeah, we should be fine, thanks to you guys," the head merchant says, glancing towards the dormant/dead radscorpion. "Knowing these things, it was probably stalking us for miles, and we just couldn't see it." He glances between Kyle and Rory, first, then to his two guards, the wounded one managing to stand up under his own power, even after all that, even if he's clearly a bit shaken from blood loss. "We'll manage from here, I think. Weston, you say? Yeah, we know the way...probably a good idea to stop there. Sounds like you're in a hurry, and I thought I heard someone mention the meat from this thing. We can manage that for you, if you want. It's the least we can do for you after the help, well, that and giving you soem good prices."

With that, though, it seems the road is clear. It's only a mile or two before where Lindsie is supposed to be comes into sight, so at least the attack happened at an opportune location. If there were any exchanges of gunfire ahead, it would have been heard by now. Instead it's relatively quiet, now that the battle has died down.
Kyle Katarn     "Yeah, seems that way. You guys be careful now." Kyle salutes, before he proceeds to hop onto his swoop again. The vehicle roars to life once more, and he's on his way as he begins to head down the roadways, wondering just what's ahead.

Danse mentioning cars on the highway does make him keep an eye out for abandoned automobiles, just to be safe. He'll be quick to leap over those thanks to his swoop's repulsorlift drive.
Silica     Silica manages to dodge most of the reaching and struggling... at least until the stinger jabs into the gap between her armour plates, puncturing her side and leaving a spider-webbing red damage decal and inflicting a poison effect. It doesn't have an image, or a name, but her health bar does start declining from the effects. As the scorpion shuts down and 'dies', she hops off of it, and incants a self healing spell, and pulls a small Antidoe potion from her inventory and drinks it, while the party regroups after the mini-boss encounter.
Rory White "Please do!" Rory nods deeply to the traders, almost deep enough to be a bow. "By the way our main export is purified water. Best prices in the Commonwealth! Be sure and stock up." Of course, they've got the biggest purifier in the Commonwealth.

Rory was very shrewd in choosing to make THAT her base. Everyone needs water... so everyone will come to them. Bringing news and stories and much more.

Rory's not as quick as Kyle's swoop, but she does break into a respectable run - easily matching Danse's power armor-boosted pace... but she doesn't stick near Danse. She instead hangs near Silica. "You're fighting with just a KNIFE?!" The AGI cannot believe what she just witnessed...

    Well, a knife... and magic.
William Pauwel     While everyone else is negotiating with/grabbing a quest reward from the local traders, Will is busy... Retrieving the Radscorp? Apparently he's not even a little bit put off by the scorpion's regrettable demise. He's hunted much more animated creatures before, after all. Out on the frontier, you hunt for your next meal, or you don't eat at all!

But you can never be too careful. So Will makes sure to take his big ol' progressive knife to the thing's tail before he starts collecting the body for eats-cooking.

"Might as well come along with y'all," he says, strolling up to Danse and the others with fresh hunt slung over his shoulder. "We're heading out, right?"
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone will leave things to William to deal with the radscorpion along with Silicia they seem to have it more than handled at this point. She's more focused on the Traders now who seem to be fine for the most part and they are recovering their thing. "No problem we need to get moving and damn that's pretty impressive for a predator. Take care and I suggest your take some time to let your guard recover once you hit the next place to trade. Take care and good luck!"

She does mean it but it's time to roll out after all. She pauses grinning at Rory about the water. She pauses for a moment at Silica.

"Wait seriously just a knife?"
Danse The beast doesn't flinch, either from further killing blows or beginning to be cut up, either by Will or the opportunistic traders. If it wasn't dead, it was close enough. The venom coursing through Silica's system is painful, but surviveable, and the course of it will be greatly reduced by the antidote. It might not be as effective as a local preparation made especially for radscorpion stings, but it's a close enough analog, and in this case it should be possible to, quite literally, walk it off, besides possibly some lingering and slight nausea. "Affirmative," Danse responds to Will, the helmet he's wearing hiding the slight crinkling of his nose at the fresh cut of meat. You do what you have to. With the traders and aftermath taken care of, this leaves the open road ahead, and just as Danse had disclosed, the crumbling remains of an overpass comes into view after the cresting of a hill, as well as the tall exhaust stacks and outer rigging of what was once an enormous factory. In fact, it looks mostly intact; might be an interesting place to poke around in, when there isn't as pressing a concern.

"Corvega had one of their largest facilities in the United States here," he remarks, as it comes into view. "Many of the cars that Katarn pointed out would have been produced there. If I had more manpower, I'd want to investigate it." But that's secondary and something for another time. At the moment, while those two structures loom ominously close, the thing of more interest is that two story building that had been on the maps. The maps did not disclose that it is half-collapsed, however, as most of the second story is practically exposed to the weather. It almost seems uninhabited, at first, but after a few moments, a door marked 'Employees Only' can be heard to slide open carefully, before someone emerges from it. Kyle would recognize the figure of a young wastelander woman as Lindsie, pretty easily. Or at least, it looks like her. Can never tell for certain with those Synths.

She thinks better of calling out to the people approaching. She recognizes Kyle, at least, if not the vehicle he's on, and the others seem safe, though she does cast a slightly wary eye to any power armored figures. "You heard my radio transmission," she wonders, once she's in easier earshot? "Ah, thank god...it was sort of a crapshoot on who would come to check it out first. We should probably just get started on the way. It's going to be a loooong trip, and there'll be plenty of time to fill you in along the way." She gives another curious glance to Kyle's speeder, and wonders, "You got room on that thing? I don't want to slow you down. We're going to the Northeast coast, near Salem. At least, that's the plan."

The Corvega Factory, despite being rumored to be a hive of Raider activity, seems awfully quite, from this distance. Some of that may be attributed, if Rory and Kotone decide to take a quick, closer look from the air, to a figure on the roof of the cement and steel main structure. It's their old Courser pal, standing between what had previously been two Raiders, before he shot them dead, appearing to be watching the goings on from a respectful distance. Rory was apparently right, that they weren't the only ones to notice the signal, but why simply observe?
Kyle Katarn     The Speeder darts and jives across the highway, avoiding cars left and right before pulling up to the plant. He hops on off, recognizing Lindsie pretty quickly as he approaches. "It's Kyle. You're safe now, we weren't followed I swear." He assures her, nodding.

"Get a helmet and hold on tight, my bike can go pretty fast. First-timers usually find that unbearable, to be honest." He says, before he helps Lindsie onto the bike. He'll hop on as well, letting Lindsie wrap her arms around his waist.

Before he does go, he stares into the distance, where he can detect two raiders being snuffed out through the Force.

He can't exactly sense the Courser, but he still glares anyways. "I see you." He mutters. "You can hide all you want, I still know you're there." Then, Kyle will begin to warm the swoop back up.
Rory White Rory does indeed look. Her eye in the sky spots the... well if she hadn't met that one, she wouldn't know who he works for. But the efficacy he kills Raiders with is fairly terrifying enough to hazard a guess. She frowns. To speak up about it or not?

She isn't of a mind to antagonize the Institute needlessly when she's trying to understand them. On the other hand, letting them follow to wherever Lindsie is going could lead to a disaster of some kind she can only vaguely theorize.

So she decides to sound the situation out... first by beaming a pleased smile at Lindsie. Then in a quieter tone, "Well that's quite a trip... but having time to chat is welcome! Are you terribly worried about us being followed by anyone? Good to see you again, Lindsie. Congratulations on surviving... you know you're welcome at Weston. I do not discriminate. And will not TOLERATE it either..."

Which doesn't preclude the possibility of problems happening anyways...
Silica     Silica is amazingly quick on her feet. Dang MMO characters and their infinite run. When Rory says about her 'knife' she gets a bit grumpy. "It's not a knife. It's a Dagger. Runed Blade of the Cthorun... I'm working on the questline to upgrade it to the Enchanted Blade of Cthorun... but what I really want is Freya's Kiss... it's an ultra rare Legendary Dagger, and the quest for it takes a whole month." she gushes out, getting a bit more animated and even grinning a bit when she goes into it. "It takes 900 Dagger skill to even equip it, and I'm /very/ close, just another five points." As the group meet up with their 'escortee' she offers a wave, before chanting out a short verse of that not!Nordic, casting a protective shield around the party.
Kotone Yamakawa The Factory is very quirt looking and Kotone would take a closer look and they'd notice tht Courser is there nd has taken out at least several raiders. She took a moment to scan things closer and she tilts he rhead a bit out of relfex. Are they too late? She doesn't know and she now picks up the pace she's just going to soom it now at this point. She's not going to poke the operative if he's doing nothing, if he's just watching and cleared out some raiders? She can deal with it. She does follow up Rory and gfrins a little bit. She looks to Linsie for a moment.

"Hello I'm Kotone Yamakawa and I am a friend and business partner of ROry."

Linsdie might notice something a bit off about kotone overall but most notably her eyes.
Danse Kyle gets things prepared, and while it is going to take some getting used to, she climbs onto the Speeder, anyway. The Institute can't catch what it can't keep up with, right? ...hahah. Securing her helmet, she thumbs up to Kyle, before getting as secure as she can. She also responds to Rory, as they begin to prepare to make their way across a good two-thirds of the Commonwealth, by any map's measure. "Yeah...sorry. But it's better to be closer. I'm sorry that I'm being so secretive about all of this, but, well. You know." She seems to read into Rory and Kyle's mannerisms, for the moment, glancing in that direction, herself. "They're watching, aren't they?" Despite the usual paranoid reactions of most Commonwealth wastelanders, she seems to have...accepted it, in her own way, as she simply sighs, "But if I live in fear of what they MIGHT do, then I'm just going to sit sealed up until I starve, or something finally comes for me. I'm not going to live that way my whole life."

Despite that, though, when Rory mentions the standing offer for Weston, she gives a light shake of her head. "Maybe, once I understand all of this. But right now, while I said that, I'm not going to put those people, or my brother, at risk for my own sake. Let's just hope this all works out, alright?" She does manage a smile for Kotone, though; if she notices something's peculiar, she doesn't mention it, since she'd be one to throw stones at glass houses, nowadays. Silica, likewise, gets a curious glance. But she's heard enough over the radio now, especially from that Travis guy, to know that there are plenty of 'outsiders' appearing lately. She's not too offput, for similar reasons she doesn't linger overlong on Kotone. "The name's Lindsie. I met Kyle before, though Rory over the radio. It's...well, complicated."

Danse doesn't mince words, of his own. "You're a Synth, aren't you?" Lindsie doesn't make eye contact, or rather, eye to lens contact, and also doesn't verbally respond. The tone of the Paladin's voice is stern, moreso than usual, at the prospect of escorting a Synth to safety. Yet, the Elites he's met so far have done him enough favors that he'll give the benefit of the doubt, for now, saying as much, "I'm not certain how you all became so deeply involved in this, but I needed to see some of these sites for myself. I'll look the other way on this, this time."
