Faruja The weather is mostly sunny in Mullonde today, and thus the streets are crowded with the usual mix of clergy, worshippers, knights and mages that often walk the streets. Hymns spill from numerous churches and cathedrals, well wishes are exchanged, and the place simply smells of the devotion of its inhabitants.

An armored knight in blacks, golds, and reds awaits Isabelle at the nearby warpgate, politely-if-stoically leading her through the city. She'll have a fine hotel waiting for her if she wishes to spend the night or drop off any luggage, but the main destination is a winding path down to a back alleyway into something best described as a medieval office building. Two guards stand at the doors, knights exchange salutes, and soon enough Bella will find the rat in his office.

"Do come in."

There's piles of paperwork that are now on side desks, leaving the large one with chairs for two. A bottle of wine is already poured for both himself and his new guest. "Lady Mercer. It is an honor to meet you in the flesh. Lord's blessings my dear!" He offers with a smile and deep bow. He pulls out a chair. "Please, sit. I trust your travel was uneventful?"
Isabelle Mercer     Warpgates are still new to Isabelle, her twin braids swaying in even the smallest wind as she performs a polite curtsey of greeting to the armored knight who is awaiting her. He didn't look too much like conversation, but with the way that Knight is, she decided not to try and make small talk, instead pointing to her suitcase, a simple brown briefcase of sorts... to make a trip down to said hotel to drop off luggage and then to follow the knight once more.

The hymms and chants and prayers, all this devotion practically makes her smile quite wide, not to mention all of the architecture that she's seeing, this place must have a veritable gold mine of history for her to study and take back... but for now, with the lead on through back alleys, she clutches onto one of her braids, just in case. Though, it seem not neccesary with the 'medieval office building' in front of her guarded by more knights. Inside must be a veritable wonder... or droll, but when she gets the permission to enter the rat's office, her eyes immediately fall upon Faruja.

(You're a rat)... is what she would say if she didn't have manners, instead she politely curtseys towards Faruja and makes her way to sit down in front of him, a smile upon her face. "And blessings upon you, Sir Faruja." she greeted back, "Fortunately, it was uneventful, I would have loved to study a few things, but I do believe the knight would have ushered me along quickly..."
Faruja Really, the office and building aren't as fancy as many others in the city. There's several decorations: crosses, several stacks of books, a Burmecian flag hung on the wall and a side table with pictures of himself and Ainsley and a few other friends.

Everything's neat and orderly however, function over form.

The burmecian can't help but chuckle just a bit as he peers over the young woman. Dear /Lord/ those twintails! His own hair suddenly feels completely underdone. He flicks the ponytail reflexively.

"Unfortunately many of the knights in the Inquisition's service are...well, lacking in social graces. Difficult job, some people simply turn themselves 'off' to handle the stress." A shrug.

"Still, welcome." He too finally sips, and crosses his legs thoughtfully.

"So tell me about yourself, hmm? I must say, I am most intrigued about your occupation and abilities. Mullonde is an old city, and there are older things still beneath."
Tomoe Tomoe is a bit late in her arrival but the Salamander woman does show up and she catches up just in time with Faruja and Isabelle he's suitd up in her armour as normal but her wepaons are nowhere to beseen at the moment as he tilts her head for a moment at Faruja and then to Isabelle. "Sorry I'm late I had to tend to something which took longer than I thought it would and if I recall right? This city is built on the ruins of other cities, right?"
Isabelle Mercer     Those twinbraids were the best feature of her, wern't they...

Isabelle takes that glass of wine in her hand and swirls it silghtly, taking a sip. "Oooh, this has a rich flavor to it." she comments, before smiling up at Faruja, "If it gets them through the day, then perhaps it may be the best for them." she nods, "After all, it sounds like they do a lot of things that would make a normal man weep with tears and not want to see the light of day." she shakes her head and takes another sip of wine, "Such exquisite flavor."

"Thank you for your welcome, as for me, I'm nothing of major rapport, Sir Faruja... I'm just an archaeologist, an occultist... and with those elements at my side and in my being, I guess you can say I'm a magician too." she seems a bit more excited at that last mention, "Where I'm from, magic has been supposedly dead for hundreds of years... I seem to be the only one, however, who can use it at the moment, who knows if others are..."
Faruja With Tomoe's arrival, a third glass is poured, and he gives the young woman a bow. "Ah, Dame Tomoe! Come, sit my dear! Quite correct. The previous city sunk beneath the waves, leaving several catacombs filled with ancient relics. We occasionally send expeditions down to uncover lost history. However...spirits rest uneasily, and the terrain itself is dangerous."

Isabelle's enjoyment of the wine has the rat beaming. "You shall find clearer water nor better fruits and grain than in Burmecia!" Oh yeah, bursting with national pride this rat!

The Burmecian leans forward just a touch. "...Truly? Are you unique in some way? A blessing of the Lord? In Ivalice magic is an artform as much as science. Multiple disciplines...white magic, black magic, time, and of course the holy art of Summoning." As a demonstration, the rat chants, and something small and green fades into existance! The almost cat-like form of Carbuncle walks across the table, and noses at Bella with a little squeaky-sound!
Isabelle Mercer     Isabelle blinks and gives a smile towards Tomoe, "Hello Tomoe, you were amazing out there, I'm glad you were there to take me along." her smile gets brighter as she sips that wine once more. "Perhaps I shall take a trip to this Burmecia. But..." she blinks, looking at the leaning Burmie... and then down at the green creature near her legs. She makes a very ladylike noise, a cute little squeak and she reaches down to pick up the Carbuncle to cuddle. "Aren't you a cute little thing, where did you come from?" she questions, turning towards the rat...

"Well... I guess you can say I am." she comments, looking towards Tomoe before setting the glass, and reluctantly, the carbuncle down. "Sir Faruja, may I ask if there's an element you prefer? Fire, Water, Lightning, Earth, Ice, Wind, Light or Dark?" a pause, "Perhaps, I should not use Dark in the presence of clergy..." she whispers, shaking her head as she stands back from the table in a, hopefully open area, of the office.

"I'll... show you what I'm capable of, since you were kind to show me this..."
Tomoe Tomoe is a word arm and she knows it but she's quite glad to help and she seems to be relae wenough she has some experiance with the world. She pauses for a moment at the Carbuncle and she gets this adoring look on her face. "Oh my god! It's so cute!" She snaps out of it after a moment and now managed out a reply to Isabelle while looking /very/ embrassed and she looks to the Spirit Archologist for a moment. "Thank you but really I'm just little more experianced." She's looking sheepish but will leave Isabelle and Faruja to figure out which form of magic is the best for this operation. She's honestly not sure.
