Cirra Constantine     Palmira has been on the hunt for a rare weapon almost since she began playing the game. This one is perticulary difficult to find: The Thunder Spear. No one has been able to figure out which monster it should drop from, or what area as each report has been of something or somewhere different.

The Imp however seems to have an idea of where to look as she arrives in the Slyph zone. She opens a UI window and checks her position with the map before pointing ahead. "That way, about Fifty meters." Palmira begins trking forward on foot, spear held over her shoulder.
Silica     Silica and Pina are here! She's sticking pretty close to Palmira, though is much more on the carefree side of things. This is a relatively easy area for her experience level, even if the monsters /are/ still considered dangerous. "Alright! Just lead the way and we'll support you, right Pina?" she says, glancing at her companion with a cheerful smile.

Pina chirrups back and flits around Silica's neck, landing on her shoulder and giving a firm nod in agreement.
Cirra Constantine     The area is lower level, but something is keeping Palmira on gaurd. She closes the map as they approach on a heavily wooded area. "Hopefully this will be easy enough to secure by the two of us." she glances at Pina, "Three of us."

As they enter the woods, a rumble of thunder can be heard overhead. "Almost time-" She moves a little quicker, jumping over tree roots and around a corner. Just up ahead: A group of wolf like enemies prowl.

Palmira puts up her hand in a motion to stop Silica, and crouches down, encouraging her to do so as well.
Silica     Silica follows with the graceful agility of someone who's played VRMMOs for a long time. She's good with Party tactics, and so when the gestures are made to stop, then hide, she does so without even a word. She creeps up a bit closer to come abreast of Palmira, reaching back for her dagger in readiness. "What's going on? They're just regular monsters..."

Pina, though, senses /something/ approaching, and makes a low warning growl.
Cirra Constantine     Palmira glances aside at Silica, and opens the map window again, this one has a series of dots on it leading up to here. "Every time this item has dropped, it was from a regular, but random mob. Immediatly after a freak thunder storm. The apperance of which has been moving north west along Alfhiem." she points up at the rumbling clouds. "It's here now."

With a booming crack and a blast of white light, a lightning bolt strikes the wolf in the center. The others bolt into the forest, but the one struk with lightning refuses to die, instead growing larger as it howls like a hound of hell.

"Go!" Palmira says as she leaps over the log she took cover behind. Her spear spins around as the lightning strike on the wolf fades... But theres no animation lock on the transformation, and the giant wolf turns around snapping it's huge jaws at Palmira capturing the spear by the shaft. "Hnn! Blast it...!"
Silica     Silica looks at the map, "Ooooh. That's a pretty cool quest line, actually thinking about it." she remarks, then blinks as the lightning strikes the wolf. As the call to GO, is given, Silica's game face clicks on and she leaps over the log as well, circling around to the left and coming in to flank the Thunder Wolf. "Pina, Guard!" she says as she runs, pointing at Palmira. Pina flies off and moves to go for the wolf's eyes, a Blind attack to try and stagger it.

Silica herself, meanwhile, comes in from the side with her dagger's blade shining brightly. She allows her body to move with the system's support, and drills a triple stab into the side of the large monster, causing ice crystals to form and erupt from each wound.
Cirra Constantine     Pina's blinding attack catches the Thunder Wolf while it's still grappling with Palmira, the tiny dragon's claws blinding the wolf as it yelps and snarls, releasing Palmira's spear and backing away to claw at the dragon - just to let Silica's tripple combo strike it's side.

Red lines of damage appear across the side of the wolf, but it bounds away, turning on the group to snarl at them. It's HP must have been enhanced as well, that or it feels no fear. It dives forward at Silica, the one to do the most damage to it so far.

Only for Palmira to let out a yell and step in, spinning the spear around her back and stabbing it at the thunder wolf's un hurt side.

But it certainly doesn't seem to feel pain, because it continues it's dive at Silica!
Silica     Pina's reflexive, protective algorithm picks up imminent danger to her Tamer, and the little dragon, after dodging claws with minimal damage, dives in front of Silica, and unloads a Bubble Breath attack right in its face, before being knocked aside by the weight of the diving strike.

The bubbles are a temporary stun, broken by damage or a short lapse of time... which Silica, turning back from watching her friend shatter into a tiny feather, capitalizes on.

She kiai's, a quivering, birdlike shout of true, real rage and anguish for her fallen companion, as she ducks under the large wolf, her dagger gleaming balefully, as she unloads her most potent Sword Skill. Five strikes, each one erupting with a column of ice on the opposite side from where she stabs, as she dives through the wolf's legs, to land heavily on the far side in the midst of Skill Lock.
Cirra Constantine     The wolf's combat AI doesn't seem to be anything more then average. Once Pina is down, the Wolf turns on Palmira lunging forward to bite! But all it gets purchase on is Palmira's arm, red glows emitting from where it's teeth sink into her arm. "Not so fast, Monster."

Silica's yell makes the Wolf's eyes turn towards her as Palmira grabs the creature by the throat, the high pitched yell terminate in the explosion of ice crystals out the other side of the monster's body IT may not feel pain, but it feels danger and tries to struggle free of Palmira's grasp only for it's HP bar to plumet to just above zero.

Palmira turns her body inwards and twiwsts the arm in the mosnter's mouth while pushing on it's throat, sending the creature falling to it's side while freeing herself.

With a spin of her spear, Palmira slams the point into the monster's neck, depleting the last of it's HP and causing it to disolve into particles. Palmira sighs as she holds her wounded arm, "I Wasn't expecting it to be that difficult. Silica, are you alright?"
Silica     Silica is silent, eyes cast in shadow as she walks over to where Pina's Heart rests in the grass. Silently, she sheathes her dagger. Silently, she kneels and scoops up the feather.

    Softly, she begins to incant.

"Su Fylla Vivra austr, eitrio svalr bani."

The spell words lock in around her, and she's engulfed in a blue-white pillar of light for a few moments. When it clears, the Cait Sith is crying softly into Pina's feathered side, as the dragonling licks her cheek.
Cirra Constantine     Palmira stands there for a moment, not sure what to do as the item drop icon keeps blinking at her.

Eventually she moves closer to Silica and carefully sits down beside her. "I'm sorry. I should have been more certain of the monster's strength before brining you both here."
Silica     Silica looks up at Palmira, and gives her a soft smile. "I-It's fine... just, bad memories." she replies, standing up and dusting herself off. "Did you get what you came for?" she asks, hugging Pina close to her chest like one might a little teddybear.
Cirra Constantine     Bad memories. Palmira nods at that, standing up with Silica she presses the icon to open the menu. The drops are mostly standard except for an increased amount of gold, and a single weapon: The THunder Spear.

"Yes." Palmira smiled. The stats on it aren't amazing, but she selects it for her loot roll and passes on the gold. "Take the money, for helping me."
Silica     Silica closes out the trade window, letting the gold go back to Palmira. "What are friends for?" she replies. "Besides, I've got more money than I know what to do with... I'd only waste it on more materials for my crafting skills."
Cirra Constantine     "Well...if your sure." Palmira shuts down te window. "Thank you, still..." she opens her equipment dialog and changes to the thunder spear. Other then looking like a tridendent with bladed fork tongs it wasn't that impressive. "This is only stage one. Now I have to find and defeat Jupiter for his lightning bolt."
Silica     Silica nods. "Legendary Weapons usually have a long quest chain attached... it's one reason I'm not bothering with them, they're expensive in terms of items, and I wouldn't get much use out of any of the Legendary weapons available... there's a big lack of high level daggers."
Cirra Constantine     "Unfortunate." Palmira slings the spear away for now. "IS that why you're raising your crafting skills so high?" she begins to walk out of the thicket and into the open pathways
Silica     Silica falls into step, and shakes her head. "Lisbeth handles weapons and heavy armour.. but I use Light armour, different skill, so I'm keeping my craft skill up with my armour, so I don't have to make Lisbeth worry and grind up a whole new skill tree just to maintain my equipment." she replies.
