Kutsuuko Shiratori     Taking the warpgate is an unimpressive, and yet unusual sight. Any excitement for the breathtaking, grim or strange vista of a new world is strangled immediately at realizing the room it exits is pitch black. Judging by any sounds echoing off the walls, it's also very small, and the floors and walls are plated in metal. In subdued fashion, rows of sodium vapour light snap on one at a time, only so as not to be totally blinding, with a series of sullen clanks, and the buzzing of some whining machinery punctuates the sketchy silence.

By the looks of it, someone found the natural warpgate and built some kind of vault around it. It seems purposefully too small for anything but small groups of people to enter, or perhaps to exit, and the interior itself is little more than prefab, sci-fi warehouse pieces stitched together to be traversible a few feet above the interior walls, which occasionally pulse with embers of dull orange between the black gaps in the plating. Anechoic properties isolate it from radio signals, the structure looks like it's suspended by shock absorbers in case of earthquake or bombs, and the only way to tell where it is, is by how it's so cold one can see their breath, and the accelerating thrum of the cargo elevator that awaits.

Despite the utterly frigid welcome, as soon as people step out and multiple layers of reinforced doors seal behind them, interior comms crackle with the sound of an older man's voice; one that could be thought of as gentlemanly if it didn't sound so casually enthusiastic. "My apologies for the welcome! We haven't set up a visitor's warpgate yet, so the best we could make do with on such short notice is the one we're currently guarding, come in, come in!"

The sight upwards is considerably friendlier. An adjoining ride to a personnel elevator through a glass tube shows the transition from dim vehicle bays, to what might be factory floors, to what looks to be some sort of massive, indoor apartment complex, and then finally people are left stepping out into somewhat spartan, but much more palatable arrangements.

Despite a lot of it being faux veneers over more metal, they have white, interior walls, false hardwood and a real carpet over it, occasional benches, probably fake potted plants, even a vending machine. It looks almost like a hospital lobby, save a number of huge viewscreens overhead displaying some kind of map, a crapton of indecipherable numbers, and what looks like an airport flight schedule screen, except people's names.

There is also a gargantuan twist of black cables as thick as fire hoses puncturing the roof and then down through the floor like an overgrown tree in one corner, affixed with a computer terminal of some sort that looks more like an armoured manhole cover with a big, glowy touch screen. Kutsuuko is standing by it, sipping on something bright pink in a can, and making a grimacing face at the taste. She tosses it into a trash recepticle immediately as people show up, clapping her hands together with obvious pleasure at no longer being made to wait.

"Great! The first batch of trainees is here!" She says 'trainee's with sarcastic, and yet unconcealed glee. "If anyone asks, you went through every security station check. Got it?" She quickly glances up at the displayed map, checking a moving group of what must be God Eaters located by GPS. It's difficult to tell where the map is /of/, until one recognizes it as the coast of Japan, only shot through with hundreds of space-visible, perfectly circular holes.
Yang Xiao Long     "Well, I think this guy'd get along with Doctor Oobleck." quips Yang to the others as the group treks through to the lobby room. She's uncharacteristically quiet, arms folded as she leans against the side railing before the doors open and she steps out.

The blonde lifts her right hand, letting the golden bangle shift a bit as she waves to Kutsuuko. "Hey! Yeah, sure... got it." she replies, then turns her eyes up to the map.

It takes a few moments for it to click, but then she just goes wide eyed. "What in the name of Dust happened to make those holes?!"
Sanary Rondel Sanary's heard of Aragami in passing before, and she's even fought them once before as well. Fearsome creatures, but not the sort of thing she'd shy away from learning more about if given the opporunity to. As dangerous as they are, there's the potential for gaining more power if these things can be understood properly!

Well, understood in the sense of carving them up and making gear out of them, anyway. Or taming, if that's evena possibility. Considering where she is and who she's with, though? That's probably not happening.

"Aye aye, Kutsuuko. Everything checked out fine from what I could... SEE." She taps on her eyepatch exaggeratedly and glances around at today's companions, trying see if any of them have a response that isn't groaning or pain. She'll get that delivery thing right sooner or later.
Reina Kinney Meanwhile, Reina stands attentively, listening intently until it's her turn to speak. "I'm glad to have come," Reina replies in her formal yet simple sounding tone. To some people it might come off as sarcastic, but those who know Reina well will know when she's being sarcastic. For now, her expression seems mostly neutral as she listens to what is being said. Although there is a slight hint of boredom in her demeanor as she runs a hand through her long ponytail.
Kyra Hyral Kyra seems unsurprised by the precautions encountered around the warp gate. When she first steps through, she does move to turn the flashlight app on her phone to look around, confirming the smallness of their confines, only to turn the light off as the vapor lights slowly activate. Patiently, Kyra waits, her gear clanking softly as she shifts from foot to foot. Those standing nearby her will have to give her wide berth since she's certainly come strapped with a variety of her weapons-from the GLEAMING GRENADIER'S CURE-ALL to her hunting rifle to whatever other guns she might have secreted under her new lightly-armored combat hoodie.

Calmly, she strolls out with the group, ignoring the multiple doors that shutter behind them.

"Hah, of course we did." Kyra grins, then squints at the map. The geography is completely unfamiliar to her since she doesn't come from a world with a Japan. "So what are we up against today? And am I allowed to take samples?"
Ixqor Nathrach The sorcerer, for once used the standard warp gate rather than forcing his way into this dimension, as he was expecting a greeting of sorts, and he wouldn't want to cause alarm to the locals. He was the one alarmed however, as the cold of the cramped room hit his face upon emerging from warp space. He was clad in his power armour, but his helm was held in hand, a way of showing trust to others of the Alpha legion, but likely inconsequential to outsiders. The rest of his body was kept at a normal temperature from his armor, but he wasn'te xpecting such a strange 'greeting' at all. He followed the advice of the elderly man who reached his vox communicator and followed the motely group up into the elevators. One levels, two, no, four. They were in quiet the structure for certain.

Once free of the glass elevator he stepped forward, preferring to be at the head of the pack. His eyes looked at the group around him. Reinhardt was present, that pleased him at least. The blonde haired woman, as well as several others were foreign to him, and so he would keep his distance for now. Perhaps they would prove themselves useful on this day. Or at least worthy of study. Ever the paranoid one though, he kept a hand idly on the hilt of his blade, casually, but prepared. Every new dimension was a potential deathtrap for him, if they hajd come under prior chaos attack, and thwarted it off. They would know who he served.

His eyes went to the TV screens then. A series of islands, but somethingw as wrong. Was the display shddy? No, those holes were real. "By the Gods, what caused such rampant destruction?" He asked aloud, having more or less accepted whatever the fast speaking woman who greeted them said.
Tomoe Tomoe had come as Well her most commonly seen form of the Iron Lily. There was a lot to take in and thins were frigid to put it mildy but she'd heard of nations on her world doing similar containmebnt attempts on warpgates. So she didn't think too much of it as she moves to endup finding everyone else. She looks at the woman speaking at them. She tilts her head for a moment and nods.

"Right got it."

She seems to be curiosu about how this is going and the Salamander moves to fall in with Yang.

"We'll likely find out first hand sooner or later. Yang."
Lin Karal Rei Lin's come on the promise of there being some interesting monsters to go have a bout with. Where there are interesting supernatural monsters there might very well be amazing materials for weaponmaking too! What kinds of bones, horns, tendons, shells, or other parts might these Aragami have that she can make into something better than steel gear?

She can't wait to find out! So she's positively GRINNING with overegerness when... when she steps out into darkness. And is about to activate her anima to see by... but the actual lights come on first. Phew.

So she strolls out past the doors and hears the comms crackle on... she looks EVERYWHERE for the source of the voice! Then realizes there's some magic or gadgetry involved and they're not here... "It's no problem at all! Gonna recommend the lights be on next time though, might get someone panicking if it's pure dark..."

Out out and out further, she enjoys the walk and the ride... but her face is PRESSED UP AGAINST THE ELEVATOR WINDOWS the entire time, eyes wide with amazement. 'What is that? WHAT IS THAT?!' is written all over her face...

She's especially interested in the cables and the tree that happens to be growing INDOORS. She walks straight over to it first off and pokes at the trunk... then turns to look at the displays.

"By the heavens, what made all of those... holes?! Is that an island map?!" 'island,' huh.
Kutsuuko Shiratori     Kutsuuko half-assedly waves back to Yang at seeing her. Her own, much bulkier, red bracelet doesn't move at all. It never moves. "Hey Yang~ Sanary~ Kyyyra~ Hammer guy! Tomoe! Uh . . ." She pauses briefly, moving a pointed finger back and forth between Ixqor and Reina a few times. "I'm not sure we're acquainted, but I'm sure we'll be good friends soon. Kutsuuko Shiratori, 1st Unit Captain, Fenrir's God Eaters. Pleased to meet you~" She briefly extends for a handshake. Despite pretty normal proportions for an athletic, twenty year old young lady, the technically-former Space Marine isn't going to find himself worrying for crushing her hand. Kutsuuko mostly has to busy herself with keeping a poker face at Sanary's awful joke.

She double takes the map once mentioned. "Oh. That. 2050. Initial outbreak. There were these . . ." The God Eater makes a couple of unintelligible gestures as words fail her. "You know what, it'd be easier to show you a video later. Let's get started instead." Kutsuuko turns to the terminal in the corner, thumbs a large, circular slot affixed to both the cabling and the main terminal, looking like something a heavy charger with go into, and instead sticks her hand straight into it, up to the wrist.

Some kind of machinery clamps down on her bracelet, which she then twists clockwise. The screen flashes a security clearance affirmation, and double doors at the end of a long, sterile hall open up. Kind of clever. The cables must mean the system doesn't have any wireless access at all, and if you have one of those and a matching profile, you aren't in any position to get up to funny business.

Kutsuuko responds to Kyra as she guides everyone down the hall. "Don't get crazy. I know you survived out in the field before, but this is a program that has to meet HQ's standards, so that means it has to be standardized. Don't worry, though, we have a setup a little more exciting than shooting targets~" The heavy set of doors part and allow the group into a rather spacious, and rather blank room, with very basic changes in elevation and small walls set all over it like an FPS arena map, and covered with scratches, scars, bullet holes and burns that have yet to be swapped out for new surfaces. The lighting switches on automatically, revealing an unoccupied observation deck, and a number of recording devices.

"Live target, level one." Kutsuuko calmly announces to the room. A confirmation light acknowledges, and a slot in the floor extrudes some kind of computer tower-sized vial with metal caps banded in pulsing orange, with a spherical object suspended in some solution inside, matching frequency. The caps shut off and withdraw, the sphere goes down, and the next instant, the vial shatters into a million pieces, exploding from the inside as a torrent of black, viscous liquid spills from nowhere, spattering the floor in a wide, smoking circle. Another couple of seconds after, the smoke, and then the liquid, rises of its own volition; it seethes and hisses, exponentially multiplying in volume, and then a bipedal creature the size of half a tour bus climbs out of the pool as if it were a hole in the ground.

The computer chimes "Development frozen at neotenal stage six. Combat allowance at level one." Kyra especially would recognize the silhouette as one of the hulking, stocky, raptor-like creatures she had fought before, with a third of its body being mostly an armoured, reverse saber-toothed mouth, and another third being a tail weapon etched like a gaudy oni mask. Rather than having a fully organic appearance though, it seems stuck in its weird, glossy, silver black stage, from its skin to its teeth to its now-featureless eyes.
Kutsuuko Shiratori     Nevertheless, it manages a throaty, floor-vibrating room, and charges down on Kutsuuko, leaping high into the air off its powerful legs, and coming down with equivalent force to a falling truck, jaws parted wide enough to swallow her whole. The God Eater's motions in response are automatic; muscle memory, even. Her gloved hand snaps out and catches the creature by one of its protruding tusks, where she then holds it exactly in place, kicking and snarling a few feet off the floor.

"This guy is going to be your main training partner for today. His core is based off a mutant Ogretail we found a while back, but all this biomass is coming from an Oracle Cell waste recycling system isolated in this room, so don't worry about how bad you bust him up, 'kay? He'll put himself back together~" She then chucks the Ogretail a significant distance back, which bounces and rolls heavily over the floor, before righting itself with catlike agility, despite having no arms. It barrels back for the group at full tilt. "So try unloading on him to start with. Don't go crazy and blow each other up though. What you'd use in a normal combat situation."
Reina Kinney Normally Reina isn't generally one to shake hands with just anyone, but in some cases she'll make an exception. As is this case, in which case she returns the handshake. "Ensign Reina Kinney, GUARDIANS Operative Second Class." She identifies herself both by her Union rank and her position in GUARDIANS.

It's not until the giant creature comes in that Reina steps back, her eyes bulging out of their sockets if they could, her jaw hanging open... Until Kutsuuko singlehandedly holds it back. Reina breathes a sigh of relief and surprise. "Imagine what she could do with a De Rol Le," she whispers under her breath.
Sanary Rondel So many familiar faces! Some... Probably more likely to want to pound her face in than others. Sanary offers Kutsuuko and Kyra light salutes and grins in greeting, but Yang and Tomoe get more subdued nods instead. No sense making herself an accidental target for their training range session, right?

"History lesson? Yeah... I'm kinda curious how this all started, too, but yeah. After we get some exercise in." The one-eyed healer chuckles and adjusts her hold on the kite shield she's brought along for today. "Been hoping to take a shot at these things... Anywhere we should be aiming in particular?"

Not that Sanary's too concerned about aiming properly just yet. She's actually watching the creature carefully for that moment Kutsuuko has it by the tusks, leaning in to try and figure out how its head even functions in that shape. Alas, she's no biologist, and the best she can figure is that it's angry.

And then the signal to unload on it is given. "Don't gotta tell me twice!" Sanary's solution: Charge straight at the Ogretail shield-first and ram straight into it! She's not about to let herself get shown up in a contest of strength, after all.
Kyra Hyral "Heh, hey there Sanary."

"Well in that case, I'll reserve sample-taking for later. It'd be better off if I met with some of your dedicated researchers. I'm curious if there's anything I can do against these monsters, biological agent-wise." Kyra admits, following after Kutsuuko. She takes careful note of the surroundings, reading 'training area' from the spaces, especially the more damaged ones. She can see cameras and observation areas, which arae normal sights for her.

Kyra's careful to position herself in the back, placing others between her and the recognizable monster.

"Alrighty. In that case-Protectga!" Kyra immediately gets to work with the buffs, starting with a defense-boosting Protect spell on everyone.
Yang Xiao Long     Yang gives Sanary a very meaningful glare, which is then turned onto Ixqor. She knows these two, has fought against them before. This is just her way of letting them know she's not going to take any guff from them.

Tomoe gets a bit of a smile. Yang doesn't recognize the face exactly, but the voice is familiar. "Hey Eisen, lookin' good!" she offers back. "I guess we will, yeah."

The others get various greetings, and then the training room is opened and an Ogretail is brought out. "Huh, ugly brute." she quirks a brow as it's tossed, then rights itself like that. "Agile... kinda like a really big Creep." she muses, then deploys her gauntlets in a practiced motion. "Alright then, whaling on it I can do!" she charges in, but is beaten to the first strike by Sanary. Instead of punching THROUGH the shield user, however tempting that may be, she redirects aside with a single blast of her right gauntlet, sending her skimming to the left, where she fires both behind her to come in from the side, laying into the Ogretail's flank with a flurry of punches.
Ixqor Nathrach Ixqor looke down and shook the hand gingerly of the would be 'God Eater'. "Greetings. I am Alpharius." His was curt, but it served. They didn't need to know much else. They would witness it when training had begun. He wondered however what a 'God Eater was in this realm. Had they simply not witnessed what REAL gods are? Typical of mortals to think they are above the divine though, it could not be helped. Ixqor dropped the thought and followed the group into the training room and unshjeathed the bolter from the holster on his back. He held it casually at his side and took in the sights, looking at the various terminal screens. While waiting he looked to Reinhardt and stepped towards him. "The hammer wielding crusade, Reinhardt was it. We meet again." WIth that he put on his helm and bowed briefly. "What brings-" He was interuppted by the sudden hissing of gas, and the release of lqiuids from their container. Their would be 'training dummy' was the revealed, and Ixqor fell to one knee, adopting a firing stance. "We'll talk later, Crusade. Our enemy awaits."

The sword at his hip began to glow with dakr green energies briefly. It was begging to be wielded. It wanted a taste of this strange soul that stood before him, but Ixqor would not unsheathe it here. They were not in true danger, so he would not unveil it until training began to 'heat up'. "Take up firing positions, melee specialists! Get up close and cut it up!" Ixqor immediately tried to take command. He was used to commanding a cadre of warriors back during his days as advisor to his warlord, and only true, now dead, friend. His bolter took aim for the fleshy bits of the raptor like creature and began to light it up once it took any movements. Whether his allies were ready or not, the time to strike was now. It could not be given a chance to get a leg on them, even if this was just training.
Lin Once the training-Aragami appears, Karal Rei Lin regards the creature with obvious worry. It's made of some kind of freakish liquid?! How on earth does that work?! Does it mean it won't react well to being cut?! ... She'll just have to find out, really...

The rasp of steel being drawn accompanies Lin arming herself with a dramatic motion and slash-stepping forward into a guard stance!

"Let's see what it can do!" With a few shifts in her weight as the only thing signaling she's going on the attack, Lin's gone in a heartbeat! Just... blurs out of view.

Unless one has incredibly sharp eyes they'd probably miss her blitzing past the thing at godspeed and slashing twice for its limbs. She skids to a halt many body-lengths past it, sheathing her blade... though clearly not in any kind of assumption like 'the battle is over.'

No, she spins around and readies for another manuever....
Tomoe Tomoe has not run into Kutsuuko in the flesh before so to speakbut she seems to like what she sees and she's pleased with the welcome. "Good to finally meet you in person Captain."

She seems please with this and pays attention to the information about the world that's given as she looks over the map with a good deal of intent. She also smiles to see Kyra for a moment.

"I get it we need to prove we're not just wild rumors and that we can stand up to the local problems, right?"

It takes a moment before something appears and she looks at it for a moment she knows to hold back enough to not wreck things.

"Damn that thing's ugly."

Is the next thing out of her mouth hey it's true but she's also trying to listen as intently as she can to Kutsuuko about her orders and directive here. She has no idea Sanary is the noob she's been helping to have fun in ALO. She now makes ready to fight and grins at Yang a little.

"Thanks and sorry I haven't shown you this before. We should talk more about it later when we have the time."

With that Tomoe summons a Naginata and moves to leap at the beast striking with several rapid blow from the weapon.
Kutsuuko Shiratori     "Oh, more military. That's good." Kutsuuko responds to Reina, clapping her hands together as if to dust them off. "Fenrir is, first and foremost, technically a science and bioengineering firm." She then says to Kyra. "Even as a world government, people rely on it for its research and technology. Crazy talented scientists working around the clock are the reason anyone wakes up alive in the morning. Going 'hey I want to science' at anyone important is a great way to get on their good side." She concludes."That's the second part of the exercise~" She yells after Sanary.

Much like before, Sanary finds the creature pushing against her shield with prodigious strength, even for its considerable size. Its head rolls back as she slams into it, and its talons curl an inch deep into the metal floor to arrest its backward slide, before its weird, glossy eyes seem to look down at her, and sudden thrust of its powerful frame causes that same head to lash out against her shield, battering it with its thick, carapaced skull as a weapon. It then lunges forward, leaping much like the raptor it could be compared to in order to try and get over the barrier, massive jaws snapping down like pneumatic guillotines, where all its muscle is concentrated.

It's best to hope she brought something either very disposable, or very strong, because in addition to the incredible shearing force, everything from its teeth to its tongue to the inside of its mouth, acts like some kind of nano-acid to the touch. Either way, before a shield could be considered a real loss, Kyra's protectga kicks in, and the Aragami's progress in muching through it drops dramatically.

It is then thrown bodily off of her by Yang's kinetic shell exploding against it, propelling its weight up and backwards, where it lands on its feet with a snarling shake of its head. Before it really gets its bearings, she's already hammering against its side, where thick hide and dense hair protects it rather than armour. Strangely, that matted 'fur' seems to act more like ballistic fibre, feeling like punching a three inch thick kevlar vest, with a wall of frozen meat underneath, probably having evolved to deal with massed small arms.

Nevertheless, she can feel the punches working. Though the creature has no skin to show superficial reflections of larger injuries, the Huntress in training has the monster staggering to the side, constantly having to adjust its stance to stop from toppling over flankwards, until she finally feels something crack in its hip. It takes a swipe at her regardless, wildly pivoting on the spot with startling suddenness, so that its mask-like tail whips at her head like an axe blade, though frightfully heavier, and if she tries to block it, almost as 'acidic' as its mouth.
Kutsuuko Shiratori     Before it can turn and pounce on either melee fighter though, bolter rounds thunder down range and slam into its flesh, boring into the black substance and erupting with wet pops of shredded flesh, sluicing inky blood onto the floor. Where the rounds might rip a man to pieces, or blow a lesser Tyranid apart, the damage is extremely localized, causing severe wounds in small areas, almost as if it's hardening on the inside to deal with the explosives. Still, after a full salvo, it's missing what must be 20% of its body, and bleeding the rest onto the grated floor.

Bizarrely, the creature actually fires back. Taking a stumbling, bloody leap backwards, it flicks its tail over its head like a scorpion, and a shotgun blast of /javelins/ of some chitinous substance fly at Ixqor at high speed, easily capable of sinking two feet into the floor. Before it can get any further however, Tomoe and Karal close the distance, and a blinding succession of sword and polearm slashes crosscross its battered and bloody flanks, spraying gore this way and that, until its legs come apart at the knees, and its tail hangs by a bleeding thread, causing it to crumple to the ground on its stumps.

Despite that, the Aragami continues to thrash, writhe and snarl, chomping ineffectually at the air. It seems like a last act of spite, until one sees the scattered gore starting to smoke again, followed by the creature's bleeding instantly stopping, and its stumps swelling grotesquely, before bursting forth one new limb after the other in showers of neonatal fluid.

So, it fell /well/ short of a 'boss monster', but even for a mook nasty, it's /unfairly/ tough. Despite being in no position to overwhelm the group of Elites surrounding it, the Aragami proxy stubbornly refuses to die, or even stay down. Kutsuuko interjects.

"So there you have the big problem. Aragami are, for the most part, are macro scale cell colonies. Even though they differentiate their cells into different tissues in function, they're all genetically the same and interchangeable, and intelligent at that. Our God Arcs use Oracle Cells in their construction to devour and reprocess Aragami biomass, so it can't adapt and regenerate, but even in our case, no Aragami will ever die until you extract or destroy its core; basically its brain. Remember that sphere in the tube? That's enmeshed deep inside that thing's body, macromanaging all the little thoughts the rest of the body is passing into it."

"This time, try aiming for the space inside its collarbone, through the neck. Knock its head up and take a shot down the throat, aim for the space under leg that intersects is ribs, or slip something behind its faceplate and before its shoulders. Also, don't get bitten." She advises helpfully. "Even as a training target, it can absolutely kill you."
Sanary Rondel Although Sanary's still wary of Yang because of the whole Drowning Doom thing and Tomoe because of the definitely-not-spying thing, Ixqor... Has she seen him before? The voice is familiar, at least, but she can't quite put her finger on why. Was he the one from...? Well, she can ask later. No reason to prod the sorceror or anyone else around here more than necessary when she's already got her back turned to most of them.

Digging her heels in, Sanary takes advantage of Kyra's Protectga spell to try and brute force the brute, although its sudden shifts in direction throw her off balance long enough to get the human shield off her feet! Her actual shield isn't in much better condition, either, but the protection of that spell does mean she can at least repair the thing instead of just chucking it out or something.

"Ergh... Thanks, Kyra! Yang!" Dragging herself back onto her feet, Sanary observes the Ogretail cautiously as it lashes back out at everyone, and she even jerks up a bit when it fires those weird spiny things out of its tail. The way it regenerates so quickly certainly doesn't go unnoticed, either, and it's only when Kutsuuko speaks up that any of it even begins to make sense.

"So... We just gotta take it apart and get to the juicy filling, right?" Sanary grins despite herself, and she draws her axe. Not a gunaxe, but just a... Regular steel axe.

It doesn't hurt to go back to the basics sometimes. Rushing in once more, she... Does exactly the same thing with her shield as before in trying to ram into it, but this time? She's also swinging down at it with the axe to try and jam the weapon into its head in an attempt to actually hold it still!
Yang Xiao Long     Yang grins as she feels that satisfying crack under her fist. But the grin is shortlived as the thing pivots and tries to behead her! Arms cross as she pivots to take the blow. Too fast to dodge. The acid effect doesn't blow through her fully charged Aura, but it's still enough to take a good chunk out of that protective barrier, while sending the Huntress skidding along the floor, her own stubbornness keeping her upright.

As the others capitalize on the openings provided and take the thing down... only for it to start regenerating! "I'm so glad Grimm can't do that." she remarks, though the black smoke gets a pang of familiarity.

"Go for weakspots... should be easy enough, we have to flip Boarbatusks over on thier backs to get past their tough armour." she adds, rolling her shoulders a bit to loosen them back up after taking that strike. "Oh, also... stage one!" she slams her fists together, and a wave of force radiates out from her, billowing up her hair and causing tiny flame motes to cast from the golden locks. It looks like she's aflame, almost. "Lets see how it does this time!"

She kicks forwards, not firing this time but gaining as much speed as before, following up Sanary's strike with an uppercut under the monsters chin! This one gets a shell fired, and followed up by another, different shell. The explosive bolt doesn't have much time to travel, but it explodes like a shaped charge against the things throat area and upper chest.
Reina Kinney Nodding as the instructions are given, Reina acknowledges with a thumbs up. "OK, I understand what we're doing. Just leave it to us!" She then snaps her fingers on her right hand, and her sword, literally a handle with a blade made out of purple energy, appears in her hand. "Looks small, but looks can be quite deceiving!" She then stares at the monster with her blade grasped tightly in her right hand. "And as for you, ugly, you just met the girl of your nightmares!"

Without missing a beat, Reina rushes in quickly, spinning around to the side before leaping into the air and coming down with a spinning slash. Granted, the jump isn't all that high, but Reina's no acrobat either.
Lin Lin gets an eyefull of REGENERATING GOO ARAGAMI, almost literally. She throws an arm up to keep the spray from getting in her eyes, but still gapes at how QUICKLY it's recovering. Still... amidst it all, she CAN clearly remember where the core was when the beast formed around it.

"I can see why anyone would need aid against these things. Never seen ANYTHING like it." Her hand dips down to her weapon... but she reconsiders. Instead the hand grips the air and she falls into a deeper stance, eyes half-closing in deep focus.

"Single Point Shining into the Void Style - Void-Slicing Wind!" She simply steps forth and her body twists into a gale-rush of even greater godspeed than before. There's a searing flash of light as she blitzes past the creature as a streak of golden light and skids to a halt far past it, clutching a blade that seems to have been forged from pure molten light. It blazes bright as a torch, shaped vaguely like the katana-esque weapon she'd drawn earlier but far heavier and impossibly sharper.

Of course, her aim was to cut straight through the creature and bisect the core!
Kyra Hyral "I'll do that as soon as possible, then. I am all for exchanging -the science- with other enthusiastic scientists of the multiverse. Especially when it's a life-threatening thing at stake." Kyra nods casually.

She stays back, not engaging directly-that's what the others are for. She seems pretty occupied with observing, recording notes on what Kutsuuko says about the Aragami's biology. "So do all Aragami have a core nucleus controlling the cell colony? Interesting."

Kyra waves a hand, fist casting a Scan on the Aragami construct. Following that, she casts an attack-boosting Bravery spell on Yang.
Ixqor Nathrach Ixqor had originally been satisfied with the volley hey let off, but looked on in surprise and intruige. The beast was regenerating, at such high speeds! This was even faster than somne terrible nurgle creature, or a chaos spawn. He began to fire but paused. This wouldn't work. The boltgun was never meant to hit such precise and sturdy targets like this. It was meant to blow away swathes of peoples in bursts, or hit paticularly tough targets and knock them down. But this was beyond it's capabilities. It may have been able to regnerate, but could it regenerate what chaos would destroy?

     Time to Test that Theory!

Sheathing the boltgun to his back, Ixqor raised both hands and opened his palms at the beast. Fell energies began to form and manifest around his hands, as though a storm were brewing! Multicoloured like gas and smoke, almost cloud like began to surround him at his feet as he drew upon the untamed wilds of the warp. "Be burned by the blood of true gods monstrosity!" Ixqor called out, damning the target creature. From his hands then came balls of pure, chaotic, warp energy, zooming through the air at high speed. The sound they made was horriffying. Almost like terrible screaming! The energies themselves were just as horrifying, if not worse. These bolts were imbued with the makeup of chaos itself. Ixqor sought to turn the Beasts flesh against itself through forced mutation! Or, what some devoutes may call 'gifts'. Otherwise, the bolts would burn, and seer away any material they came in contact with through terrible blasts.

The other elites in so close with it may want to look out though. The flight path, and targetting of the bolts were just as chaotic as their energies, and they may become a target for one of the many doombolts.
Tomoe Tomoe is not trained Military no but she is a fairly experianced fighter when all things are said and done. There's a lot to take in with the fith there's a hell of a lot of people with strange abilities or ones Tomoe's not seen before. She will make note of that for later, in the name of team work. She for now is trying to now get ripped apar as she gets up close to it. The thing doesn't last too long yet? With all the damage it's taken it's shocking to see it's still up. Soon she gets some addtional advice andshe listens for a moment.

"Don't plan to...and I'll not forget where to strike next time."

She looks to Sanary cluelss to this rather infamous confeds feeling onthe matter.

"Still that was telling about what we might be facing given that was just basic training...."
Kutsuuko Shiratori     Despite its prior thrashing, the Ogretail proxy seems undaunted by another assault. Maybe it plans to just keep attacking until the humans in the room tire out? It meets Sanary as before, but this time attempts to tackle low under her shield, trying a different approach from last time. A regular, plain jane steel axe, thus, bounces off the armour of its head with startling efficacy. "You've gotta watch out for that." Kutsuuko calls after unhelpfully. "Ogretails are pretty normalized, but bigger Aragami have crazy different resistances on different cell formations. You can have one that drops like a sack of burning crap to a spear to the face, but otherwise laughs off missiles."

She accomplishes her purpose of holding the thing still though. Its tusks reach under her damaged shield, and it thrusts its head to essentially forklift Sanary and her guard into the air, but that leaves it both stationary and vulnerable to Yang's Bravery powered uppercut to the base of its skull, thrown upwards with a sharp snarl and sharper snap in the thick carapace, where subsequent shells cause the thing to jerk and bounce atop her fist, thrashing and kicking out at her with its claws, whilst blood splatters around her knuckles and flakes of armour fall and clatter off of Ember Celica. Almost linearly, the buff and self-powerup help immensely in overcoming its natural defenses.

The last shell does a good job of launching it, clear enough from other people for the chaos volley to work wonders. Widespread damage appears all over the creature's body as craters of bloody flesh burn away in one impact after another. Kutsuuko looks on to remark "That's good stuff. Ogretails are hideously weak to elemental damage. They evolved to swarm conventional forces, and run away from bigger Aragami."

Reina intercepting it with a photon sabre slash sends it spinning back down to the floor where it bounces with a sickening thud, and then Karal's Solar Saber rips through it with a visibly intersecting line of pure light that lops its disintegrated head clean off and exposes the weird, golden sphere embedded in what should be a throat cavity. It doesn't . . . appear to have a throat, actually. Or a stomach. Which is weird for something that wants only to eat people.

The sphere cracks, flakes, and then dulls in the wake of the slash, and then the Aragami expy slumps over, quite thoroughly dead. It only lingers around for a few moments though, before its body begins to disintegrate, spreading into an almost microscopically thin puddle of black solute in such a way that it looks like the corpse is slowly tumbling into a hole, and then evaporating into inky smoke.

"And there you have the second issue." The God Eater continues to explain. "Once you've broken the core's hold, the whole recognizes it's been cut off after a small timer, and disassembles. After a while, those Oracle Cells will find others, coalesce together, and form a new core, and a new Aragami. It's why a God Eater makes sure to devour as much of the body as they can. On the plus side, that means it'll leave any inactive or inorganic materials that were in its body behind, so you can pick out valuable chemicals and metals that way; things only Aragami can process, as yet another advantage over us. Fenrir pays a ton for the core, a little bit for the cells, and a variable amount for materials; especially from the big ones. They're vitally important in upgrading and maintaining the Anti-Aragami Wall, God Arcs, our energy reserves, up to date Bias Factors, even machinery. I'll warn you though, in the stage where it disintegrates, every single cell is active again, and that means sticking your hands in them means you'll lose those hands, if not your life."
Ixqor Nathrach (THIS IS FROM LAST ROUNDS POST ADDING IT ON) Ixqor, having unleashed his second attack upon the creature, only just now looked above him, and saw the hail of spines raining down upon him. "By Slaanesh!" He called out, attempting to put up a kinetic field using his psychic powers to protect himself. It was too late though, was one pinned him by the right shoulder, and another jabbed at his leg, embedding themselves in his body. Therest fell around him, or were stopped by the late shield. "Gods damn this beast! Assist me!"
Yang Xiao Long     Yang gets raked by those claws, and covered in that inky ichor. Luckily it burns away in the glowing incandescense that surrounds her, though those claws manage to pierce her Aura and leave some nasty looking gashes on her arms as she defends herself. They heal up rather quickly, surrounded by the glowing orange-yellow of her Aura.

Once the thing finally dies, Yang lets out a breath. "And that's small fry? Dust and Aura no wonder you guys are looking for help."
Sanary Rondel And that's why Sanary rarely goes out with easily-acquired gear these days: They just don't work as well as the custom-made stuff! They did the job of keeping her away from the Ogretail's massive jaws, though, even if she did happen to get thrown off the thing with the weird angle it had come in from.

At least she's still got a good view of the proceedings even after hitting the ground rolling again. it's... Dissolving? Sanary pays close attention to odd black substance as it evaporates, taking care not breathe any of that just in case. A good thing, too, considering Kutsuuko's explanations and warning later.

"What about us not-God Eaters? We can break or remove the cores, sure, but... I'm guessing we can't just grab these things and start biting 'em, huh?" A pause, then a shake of her head. "Nah, that's... Probably way worse than touching 'em."
Tomoe The Proxy doesn't seem done yet and she's going to now make a go for spot that Kutsuuko said they should go for. She gets the basic idea of what to do now so she's going to do she'll atrmp to make her attack. She listens as there's more information given out about the cores and how they work.

"I get it, the corpse has value but only if we leave the right bits intact if we can, right? Cripes then how do we salvage it exactly without getting infected or dead?"

It's a legit question right?
Reina Kinney If there's one thing a good fighter knows, it's when to utilize your opponent's weakness. And Reina's not about to let an opportunity like that go to waste. She steadies herself on her feet, glad that her boots are made for combat, before attempting to charge up her power briefly. "All right, I'm goin' in for the kill and I'm doin' it for a thrill!" She says with an evil smirk, before rushing in and attempting to strike at the weak point with her blade.
Kutsuuko Shiratori     Kutsuuko explains a text wall on the private radio frequency to many questions: about Oracle Cells, Aragami, and how Bias Factors work. With this a priori, she then goes on to answer more. "For our purposes, breaking them is more than enough. We need you guys as an on-call kill team to take out high priority targets while our heavy hitters are away on new ventures. You're tougher and more experienced than our raw recruits, even without God Arcs."

"That /said/~" She then intones a little more excitedly. "I've asked Licca if she can outfit you guys with some specialist containment equipment. It's not exactly convenient to carry around, but if you're smart about it, you can identify and bottle the temporarily non-reactive stuff. You'd have a really short window, and a limited carrying capacity, but basic protocol is that you get to keep a little to do personal projects with. Y'know, as long as you don't take live Oracle Cells back to your own worlds, like a /fucking idiot/."

She stresses that one very hard. "Play it safe and you'll work your way up to the good stuff. Amrita, Orihalcon, Lucent, Philosopher's Stone, Zinjafra, Mana Crystal; expensive shit that only the deusphage class churn up out of their guts. All of it's highly experimental too; we don't know the full limits of all that pseudo-magical junk."
Ixqor Nathrach Ixqor dared not wretch any of the spines out. Even with his Astartes Phisiology, he knew he would bleed out far too fast. Besides, he knew he was being aided soon. For now he would simply control his breathing, keep his cool, and do his best to keep the kine barrier up. Until he was healed he was out of the game.
Kyra Hyral Between learning about Aragami and Oracle cells on the radio, Kyra makes a quick chant, the tips of her fingers glowing green as she traces a circle in the air with a lazy gesture. Following that, the air sparkles around Ixqor-

Then promptly turns read into a shower of small, red sparks that sting anywhere they touch. Kyra yelps in alarm and makes a closing gesture with her hand, immediately cuttting off her magic. "Shit! Not again!" Kyra draws back in horror from the man, taking a step backwards from him.

Solemly, Kyra pulls the GLEAMING GRENADIER'S CURE-ALL off her back. It looks like a grenade launcher, only completely pimped out in gold and platinum. Despite these precious metals, the white mage seems to manipulate and lift this weapon with ease. Only it's not quite a weapon-when it fires, it unloads a concentrated sphere, roughly grenade-shaped, at Ixqor. The sphere doesn't do any damage-in fact, it does the exact opposite and heals him and anyone that happens to be in the (again very grenade-like) blast radius of the healing spell.
Lin "Hah... that's why I'm here. The materials. On top of dealing with some nasty monsters." Lin's eyes all but light up as she stows her sword - the Glorious Solar Saber simply fizzles out after she twirls it about in her hand.

"These things are going to be a pain in the ass, but I think we can neatly handle them. Especially if we get some better gear that they don't like... give me some time, the right materials, maybe I'll find a new weapon that can kill them for good!"
Sanary Rondel "Materials do sound pretty useful..." Sanary comments idly as she stands back up, eyeing her banged up shield and axe before setting them side to check on Ixqor and Kyra. She raises an eyebrow at the strange shift in Kyra's magic and her switch to the... Healing grenade?

"Whoa. When'd you come up with that thing?" She asks with a curious tone, then approaches Ixqor and looks him over in the aftermath of that blast (and even soaking in some of the residual healing herself). She doesn't seem too worried about the chaos magic herself, at least, and she even prepares her own healing magic just in case some extra spot healing is needed afterwards.
Ixqor Nathrach As the orb hit him, after a strange song and dance on Kyra's part, IXqor was able to rip the spines from him, with pained grunts, but otherwise ease. The wholes in his armor did not close, but hi spallid, almost dea dlooking skin returned to him. "Aaah. My thanks, healer." After a moment or two he took to his feet and cracked his neck. "Very well Behemoth. You've forced my hand." He remarked, angry that such a 'lesser' creature could wound him so. He drew the daemon blade from his side, Jomungandr, and held it high. The blade itself could not wait any longer, as it morphed, and transformed into a strange, bright, toxic green like snake shape. The blade itself was gone, and replaced by the daemonic, warp entity that was Jomungandr, a long, green snake like entity, made entirely of warp energy, but able to harm the material realm.

Ixqor began charging towards the beast, holding the blade hilt forward. "Face my fury, face the warp!" He cursed the beast again, as Jomungandr lurched forward with the blade hilt, and extended out to bite the beast with two, warp fangs. It's psychic attack would do more than just rend the flesh, it would destroy, and consume it! It was feeding off of the beasts lifeblood with every drop of blood, and every chunk of meat it took with it. He took several more jabs then, coiling back with teh hilt before thrusting forward again at varying angles, causing Jomungandr to lurch back, and then launch forward, biting off more and more.
