Guest Kevin     The sun has set over Liberl, and Grancel's busy day has begun to draw to a close. There are people still out here and there, doing chores and errands, but those who are still out late either have unfinished business, spent too much time at the local pub, or just had some last minute shopping to complete. Summer brings warm air with it, but the cool breeze from the kingdom's large lake Valleria keeps it from being too stifling, at least.
Compared to other nations in Zemuria, Liberl's small and nowhere near as developed, and it certainly isn't as modern as the metropolices of other worlds. Homes are simple brick and mortar, and brick paved streets line the paths between them. However, lamps line the road with a strange, but pleasant glow to them- something powering them other than electricity, rather in its place, the unique orbal technology particular to this world.
Kevin's been in and out of Liberl- especially since the incident that happened in the nation. He's got his contacts here, and sometimes, if there's a need to deliver something to Grancel, or retrieve something to take back to Arteria, Kevin has no issue with volunteering.
The greenhaired priest walks on the road alone, but headed towards the hotel on the main street. He has a small black case with him, easily carried in a single hand- something picked up from the Grancel Cathedral which stands on the road behind him. It's too late for him to catch an airship out- the last flight left almost half an hour ago, so he'll need to get lodging for the night and catch the first flight home in the morning.
Adele Rozenbach Adele has a horse-drawn carriage, the wooden vehicle made out of ebony and pulled by two horses. An androgyne person is driving the horses until they stop somewhere that looks like it might be an inn, at which point the carriage driver's apparent twin steps out of the carriage and lowers down the stairs.

What comes out next is Adele herself, clad a black dress with a simple red hat. Tonight, she's gone for a youthful, conspiciously innocent face. The kind most men anticipate angels to have. "Thank you, Jeeves." She smiles at her butler, then glances towards the driver after, "Please take good care of the carriage, Charles. We'll call you when we he have need of you."

Then she starts walking forward, approaching the nearest figure, who happens to be Kevin. "Excuse me, good sir. I was wondering if you knew any good inns in this city."
Guest Kevin     Kevin slows to a stop as he sees the carriage on the street. Liberl's still behind enough, and its infrastructure doesn't support some of the modern travel ameneties found in other parts of the continent- so it's still not uncommon for horse-drawn carriages to be seen in this part of Zemuria... but it's always a surprise, and usually a celebrity of some sort.
He doesn't move too far, simply watching out of curiousity at the arrival. Kevin assumes that the night time arrival is to keep out of the attention of prying eyes, since there are fewer people walking about at this time.
When she shows up, he doesn't recognize her- she must be foreign. He's worked alongside this kingdom's crown princess, and doesn't recognize Adele as being part of her family or any of the local officials.
It's when she approaches him that the priest puts on a somewhat, unpriest-like- and seemingly playful charm, grinning the whole way. Kevin looks left, then right, then points to himself. "Goodness, it's not everyday when a woman as pretty as you comes askin' li'l ol' me for directions."
There's a slight gesture forward at this point- he had been walking to the most known hotel in the city, afterall. "Hotel Roenbaum is this way. I'm headed in that direction as well, so I can just show you there myself." He's very friendly, at least, but during this conversation, that small case is then quickly deposited into an inside pocket of his white coat. That kind of business isn't for public eyes.
Adele Rozenbach Adele looks wholly unimpressed by the flattery, and she slowly follows the man. "This is a quaint city, it reminds me of how cities used to be back home." She takes her time to look around, seeming to be quite curious about the whole, rather than any individual parts. Jeeves has gotten a big case of luggage out of the carriage, which is now driving off.

"If you would be so kind, could you do me the favour of telling me your name?" Adele then follows this up with a simple lie, "I am Katherine Schwartz, exploring the multiverse to see the many varieties of life it has to offer."
Guest Kevin     Kevin raises an eyebrow as he realizes that Adele is from outside- as in from one of the many worlds of the multiverse. People who travel to Zemuria from outside rarely end up coming to Liberl. The other larger and more modern nations tend to draw far more attention than this small little country.
That's when Kevin says exactly that, "Not many people come see this world, an' especially not here. A lot o' it is still... 'quaint' as ya put it. Undeveloped- compared t' some of the places outside an' all. But yer still in for a treat."
He glances over to the carriage, then points to her luggage- "I can take care of that for you." It wouldn't do to let her carry it without at least offering to help. "Th' name's Kevin, by the way. Father Kevin Graham of the Septian Church. It's a pleasure t' meet ya, Miss Schwartz. There's a famous woman in th' military here in Liberl wit' that last name, too. She's very popular. Ya might get groupies if people think yer related." That cheerful grin never wanes through this.
Adele Rozenbach "Oh it's alright, that's why I have Jeeves." Adele keeps up her smile, and Jeeves remains ever quiet, the butler carrying the luggage without even a word being spoken. He keeps his head down, and follows his mistress without complaint.

"It's nice to meet you, Father Graham." The distance starts to be subtly increased after Kevin introduces himself as a priestly type. "Is there now? That's interesting, I was not aware. And well, I came here because I don't like too big cities and I picked a random spot to start exploring the multiverse."
Guest Kevin     "It would've been rude t' not offer, at least." There's that playful grin. While it's not proper for a priest to do such things, somehow Kevin still finds it enjoyable to flirt with women. Even if he can't properly 'hook up' in a sense with someone, due to his profession.
...but you'd be surprised at how much you can learn about someone doing such things...
The priest continues to walk along the road. "I didn't figure ya'd know, if yer not from 'round here. Julia is well known, though. And a good person, at that." Though he does pause as 'Katherine' mentions her displeasure of big cities. "Ya picked a good place t' start then. Heimdallr is th' capital of Erebonia, the nation north of here. It is massive and the most populated city in Zemuria. Here- Grancel- has probably a quarter of its population, and is far less busy and exciting."
As they turn a corner and step out onto the main road, a glance in one direction gives them a clear view of the castle. "If ya get a chance, they sometimes do tours of the castle. You should find out if they have any on schedule for it while you're here." Another gesture back in the opposite direction, "And if you ever need help, the Bracers Guild is back there- they'll take care of anything you may have issues with while visiting."
Kevin has a fondness for Liberl, at least. Despite not being native to this country, he's relatively familiar with it. "Where are ya from, if ya don't mind me asking? I've been around a bit- normally, th' Church sends me out to keep an eye on things in the multiverse."
Adele Rozenbach "It's quite polite of you to offer." 'Katherine' agrees, a faint smile playing on her face. This priest appears to her to be an interesting one, but regardless, as a priest he is inherently a threat. She listens to him explain all kinds of things about this world patiently.

"You're quite familiar with the multiverse? I am from what seems to be a common kind of world, Earth. From the German Empire." She explains, "With the war, I thought spending time away from home would be a refreshing change of pace."
Guest Kevin     There's a bit more to the priest than meets the eye. He may be playing around, flirting, and talking about this city, but to the trained eye- it could seem that he may be like a coiled spring. Something could put him into action very quick. Though his lean build is hard to gauge through his loose clothing, his shoulders are broad, and his movement shows a well-trained precision to it.
And should he find out more of 'Kathrine's' nature, he may even perceive her as a threat- especially in his home world. People like her, however, are just not commonly found in Zemuria- not without a lot more evidence to them. Otherwise, there might have been more awareness to her presence... but for now, his attention is more on just helping a pretty young woman to the hotel.
"Definitely been to earth." Kevin remarks cheerfully. "Though there are a lot of iterations of it, so it could be anywhere, still. And though I've been to a few of them, at least, I've not been to Germany. Sometimes, though, the church sends me out to do work for the Union, so I've definitely got experience wit' the multiverse. It's just local work has kept me so busy, it's been hard t' juggle it all lately."
Adele Rozenbach And for her part, 'Katherine' is definitely seeming somewhat guarded, closed off. But perhaps that's only natural for a woman travelling alone in distant parts, talking to man who seems to be flirting with her with none but her butler to keep an eye on things. "I've heard of this Union. They tell me it's a group full of heroes. Tell me, do you believe in heroes?" Her voice seems to suggest she considers the concept ludicrous.
Guest Kevin     Kevin slows to a stop at the question he was asked. It's an odd question and he cants his head slightly, with an eyebrow raised. He stops, looking to the sky above for a moment, pondering his answer.
"I do." He finally says. "People who are willing to put their own lives on th' line to help others- it's a powerful, selfless act. This nation was saved by a group of heroic individuals not too long ago. I ran alongside them to help, but my contributions were nowhere near as influencial as theirs were. They fought with all of their beings because they simply loved this land."
There's a shrug, then Kevin starts to walk forward towards the hotel again. "...t' me, that seems pretty heroic."
Adele Rozenbach "And you're telling me they didn't care for fame, pride or attention?" The woman seems to find the claim somewhat ludicrous, but not so much that she's going to question anything but their motivations. "Nor vengeance, or any other sane desire?" She shakes her head, and moves on, "And the tales of the Union being full of people like that are true, then? That's fascinating, unbelievable, but fascinating."
Guest Kevin     "Oh," Kevin says, the cheer waning slightly. "There are definitely people in it fer th' fame an' fortune. Don't get me wrong. "I've butted heads wit' 'em myself."
There's a shrug, and the smile shows itself slightly. "But people like the Bracers here in Liberl do it fer th' people- they are truly servants of those around them. It's hard t' believe, I know. In my work, ya see both th' best an' worst in people. I've seen great highs, and believe me when I say I've seen great lows- from 'so called' heroes, at that."
Adele Rozenbach "That makes more sense to me." That appears to mollify 'Katherine' to some degree, and as they reach the hotel she quickly curtseys to the priest. "It was a pleasure meeting you, Father Graham. I'll need to check in and prepare to explore more later, I'm sure you'll agree it's awfully late." She fakes a quite convincing yawn. "Perhaps we'll meet again."
Guest Kevin     When they get to the hotel, he looks up to the building, then casts a glance to 'Katherine' at that point, and gives her a simple nod. As she curtseys, he sets a hand to his chest and bows slightly.
"It most definitely is, an' I've got an early flight t' catch in th' morning. It was good meetin' ya, Miss Schwartz. I hope that Aidios will deign fer us t' meet again." She was pleasant company, afterall!
