Lyner Barsett      It was time again. Time for another crack at this mysterious Phantom Cocoon. After a week of rest and preparation, the clearing in front of the structure was once again teeming with activity. Personnel from Tenba, the Knights of Elemia, and the Church were once again here, patrolling the perimeter of the metallity sphere, weapons ready. And in front, stood Bishop Radolf, and before him, were Lyner, Luke, likely Misha as well, and any other Multiversals who saw fit to show up early for this briefing. Otherwise, they would need to filter in as they came.

"As you all know, or may not know, this 'Phantom Cocoon', has been steadily draining power away from the system that keeps this continent afloat; the Plasma Bell." Glancing up from a clipboard with a checklist of information on it, the man in white armor regarded everyone present or arriving.

"We've got very good reason to believe that a Reyvateil is behind this. And she's not alone. She has at least one combat droid on her side. We don't have any visual on our mysterious Reyvateil. But the contents of her songs are enough to clue us in on the fact that she can't be up to anything good." He sighs, shaking his head, before steeling his expression again.

"Now. Our objectives are clear. Same as last time. Gain entry, and try to make headway into putting a stop to this. The earthquakes are getting worse. The Plasma Bell can't keep having it's energy drained or else we risk having everything fall into the Sea of Death." He glanced down at the clipboard in his hand, looking over one last point.

"And lastly, there's 'Project Sotiris', or Salvation. I've asked Lady Shurelia about this project, and she can't find anything related to that name in the databases. Which means we're going in blind here. Keep your wits about you when you're on the inside. Losing even a single man is not an option. Are we clear?"

Once all of that was said, Radolf smiled and added. "Now, all of that out of the way, any questions? At least while things are still quiet now."
Reina Kinney Despite being a bit late to the situation at hand, Reina Kinney nonetheless had been asked by her superiors in GUARDIANS to check out this whole thing. And Reina's not one to turn down a request like this one either. There's nothing she loves more than a good mission, and hopefully this one will be better than the one she took on a few weeks ago in Moatoob. So she's quick to arrive at the clearing.

Given the way she's standing attentively, her hands by her side and her red ponytailed hair looking as neat as possible, you'd never think she's an impatient operative with a sharp tongue. Instead, she's listening to the recap of what's going on while occasionally taking her datapad to make notes of what's being said. Given that she's still new to this whole thing, a few key words, notably the 'Phantom Cocoon,' get her looking in her database files for information on them. Aside from that, Reina maintains a professional stature.

Once Radolf asks if anyone has any questions, Reina surprisingly keeps her hand down. She's gotten the information she needs from the briefing and the extra stuff she needed help with was looked up in her datapad. She shakes her head slightly, but other than that remains attentive.
Kazusa Ujikane     After last time, Kazusa is being unusually diligent. She still blames herself for making a dumb suggestion that got someone else hurt, especially since she wasn't card-equipped to do it herself instead; even if she's gotten past most of the guilt, she's in the type of mindset to show up early and pay very close attention... which, in and of itself, is a small miracle. "Ah, I do have one question. That place inside there... is there anywhere in your world that it could be? If we can figure out where we're going when we're inside there, or at least where it's patterned after, that might be a good clue..." It was weird. All the 'window dressing' items lying around just to give the appearance of a normal world... creepy.
Fiera Kitsun "No questions at the moment," Fiera answers. She's new to the situation with the Phantom Cocoon, but she returned to Union territory recently and heard about things; this seemed worth her investigation, in case she was able to do anything to help. "There's a lot I don't know about this world," she adds, "but hopefully what I *don't* know yet won't slow us down ... I'll ask if I need to."

Fiera's not alone at the moment - which shouldn't be much of a surprise to those who know Pokemon trainers. Specifically, her Ninetales, Foxfire, is standing next to her, alert and ready, tails fanned out behind the vulpine fire Pokemon. The rest of her team are still in their Pokeballs at the moment, but presumably they're ready to be called into action at a moment's notice.
Misha     This is getting kind of nuts.
Of COURSE Misha is here, the fate of her home and tower depend on settling this issue and stopping the quakes. Though this time the Reyvateil is even MORE prepared. It's niether robes, nore fancy black dresses that the Star Singer wears to this outing back to the Cocoon again, but rather a full suit of heavy looking black platemail. Though she wears it as though it were as light as any of her other outfits, oddly enough.
"If Shurelia doesn't know about it, that's a shock to me. It might be something... New." The Star Singer muses.
"I really don't think I've seen any place like that here on the tower." She notes to Kazusa. "... Though I haven't been to the other tower either, Mir would probably know more, but she's not here, huh."
Deelel The Basic was a bit late in arriving but she was here ready to help with the next venture into this plac.e They now have an idea of what to do here which makes things a heck of a lot more focused for her. She needd to likely go info diving to see just what she can find, right? She's as ever clad in the strange outfit she's seems to wear wghen out of the digital core, but the lady just /never/ changes it then again does she need to? Either way she's now ready and falling in.

"Nothing here."
Kazusa Ujikane     Kazusa turns.

    Kazusa looks at Misha.

    And looks. And looks.

    "That armor..."

    ...lungeCLING.

"THAT ARMOR IS /SO. COOL./ OH MY GOSH, WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME YOU HAD THIS?! IT MAKES YOU LOOK LIKE SOME SORT OF MAGI-PUNK WAR PRIEST, OR A PALADIN OR SOMETHING!"
X "Completely clear, sir! I've no intention of letting anyone get killed or left behind." X states from his place in the gathered group. After the previous investigations, he's not sure how much help he's going to be... but at least, maybe he can try and deal with this robot guard the group encountered last time. Maybe.

Everyone else around him is so competent at what they do that he feels like a fifth wheel. Except... for one thing.

And that one thing is why he's standing near Kazusa.

Until she goes and GLOMPS Misha anyways. THAT gets a pleased look from him. Great to see people enjoying themselves! Others smiling makes him smile!

    And yet...

"Last time you said your cards won't work. So if you're /REALLY/ determined to go in here, I'll do my best to protect you."

And X hasn't come empty-handed either. He's brought a sack. And he holds it. "And I brought you some things. There's some protective clothes in here, a first aid kit..." He lists a few other basic useful things, though knowing the time he's from they're probably pretty compact!
Lyner Barsett Radolf regards Kazusa, and then looks to Lyner, Luke, and Misha. "I'll defer that one to these three, since they were inside." And Misha is the one who interjects. Lyner nods as well, a hand rubbing his chin, the other propping his elbow up idly. "Yeah, I don't think that location was /anywhere/ on our world." He glances aside at Misha, then back to Kazusa. "If anything, it has to be made up. ...Maybe it depends on what's being sung?" It's not totally unheard of, right?

But he doesn't know for sure. And so he shrugs! "But whatever the case is, we'll just need to do what we can, right?" And there goes that neverending optimism. He grinned like a fool at the end of it.

Luke meanwhile stepped away, having nothing to say to these people. It was time to begin. "....." Frowning at the stark white pane of an entrance into the cocoon, he raises an arm, pressing a hand against the the surface. At that moment, there was a flash, and the door outlined in red light before pressing in and sliding aside...

Did he just open it by himself? There was no way or chance to ascertain it because just then, the ground began to quake yet again, and a voice rang out clearly through the air.

First a chorus of laa sounds echoed throughout, and then the entrance of the Phantom Cocoon shone a bright white, like a portal once again. And just like last time, the outer shell of the structure shifted as countless defense systems came to life, all pointing their turrets at the intruding personnel in the immediate perimeter and then opening fire. A storm of green hued beams rained down onto the forest floor, suddenly turning things to chaos in a flash.

Radolf whirled around, spear in hand as he quickly spoke. "The entrance is open! Everyone get in there now! We'll keep the defense systems busy! Go go!" Luke meanwhile wasted no time in striding forth into the cocoon's portal first, leaving the others to follow in after. Lyner stayed back as usual, blade drawn as he waved his other arm. "Alright, get in! I'll bring up the rear! So don't bother looking back!"
Misha     "WAH!" CLANK!
That is the sound of a Reyvateil in armor tackled in a hugging glomp. Kazua brings Misha clean down in a clatter, and there's a brief moment of flailing amid the girl's fangushing.
Cut to a moment later, Misha is back on her feet, looking like she's finally gotten her composure back after much easing of Kazusa off of her.
"It's from years ago, back before Lyner and I were separated for a while." She explains pretty simply, with a small huff. But moving on. She looks to Lyner.
"Maybe... Though that's kind of the other way around from the norm, isn't it, Lyner?"
Moot point as the cocoon opens though. But... She eyes Luke for a long, thoughtful moment.
"Hey is it just me or..."
    Lasers again.
Heavy as that armor looks, Misha breaks into a hustle, chanting in Hymmnos to erect a defensive song in the face of the deluge of fire faced just like before. This time she was a bit more ready for it, it seems.
But even in this different outfit, she still trips and falls flat on her face once she's near enough to cross the threshold inside.
Reina Kinney Don't look back. That's sound advice in general. Especially when you're being fired upon by those turrets that are intent on shooting you with their green beams. Even with her shields activated, Reina knows she can only take a few hits before they go down, which is why she quickly dashes in, keeping her head down as best as she can. "Sure beats doing the Ragol Mines simulator again!" Reina thinks to herself as she tries to weave around the lasers. "This stuff is the real deal!"

When Misha falls on her face, Reina stops to help her up. "Back on your feet! We can't stop now!"
Kazusa Ujikane     The fangirl has successfully been detached. And now looks a tad embarrassed of her own outburst. ...But she does keep glancing back at Misha.

    /so cool/

What X says gives Kazusa something of a guilty start, though. "-eheh... well, it's more like... they mostly won't work 'cause I haven't found anyone to copy for the last two..." She giggles sheepishly. "...really gotta do that." She claps the bottom of her fist into her palm. "I should post a notice or something on the Union boards! See if there's anyone who'd be willing to offer. Don't know why I didn't think of that before." She's just pulling on the gear he gave her when the door opens and- oh. Oh crap. Now is running time. Run! And so Kazusa does, making a break for the doorway, first aid kit tucked under one arm.
Fiera Kitsun The downside to Fiera keeping to the Pokemon Islands so much is that she doesn't get out to meet more of her fellow Unionites. Still, that's part of why she's here - getting out into the field again, reconnecting with her allies, or rather, connecting with new ones. It really has been too long, she muses as she listens to and watches the others.

Then the sphere is opened, and it starts raining lasers. That's basically all the cue Fiera needs to begin sprinting for the cocoon's entry, her eyes shimmering briefly (as do Foxfire's) before they put on a burst of speed ... in *perfect* tandem, one running on two legs, the other on four, and neither of them missing a beat.

There'll be time enough to sort out which other Pokemon she should have out once the group is inside, and possibly safer than they are out here.
Deelel Deelel does take a moment to look over Misha's armour and she comments.

"That's impressive armour Misha..."

She doesn't get to say more because there are damn lasers coming for them all, she start to scramble in chanring for the way in moving with inhuman speed as she goes, Deelel does not want to end up a pile of cubes on the floor after all.

"Ugg why do USers cook up such insane things?!"
X "So you have to use them all before they return to normal?" He asks... moments before THE LASERS START FIRING EVERYWHERE. "GOOD QUESTION." Is his response to Deelel. X breaks out running next to Kazusa. If any lasers come her way he'll shield her with his own body if necessary.

He's still pretty sure her going in there is a BAD IDEA, but there's not much he can do to stop it. All he can do is make sure she gets out safely.

"I'm surprised it didn't just open fire earlier! The system's pretty primitive!"
Lyner Barsett Why do Users cook up such insane things indeed?

Barring a few moments of clumsiness from certain Reyvateils that will go unnamed, everyone gets in just fine! Lyner brings up the rear after making sure no one was left behind. And then he gave Radolf a nod and disappeared into the light.

And once the light fades, they find themselves in....

...A desert. A vast, vast desert. There's nothing around for as far as the eye can see. Nothing but sand, and metal debris. Scraps of broken armor, shattered weapons, discarded firearms. The works. The only thing was...all of this was at the size where it would have to be wielded by giants, not men.

"...What." Is Lyner's comment as he finally comes to. He turns in place, taking in the desert, and what appears to be the remains of a battlefield. A forgotten memory of long past. He doesn't even realize that the way they came in is completely gone. And just then, a voice rang out across the skies.

                                  This world has

                               nothing worth noting

There is a gleam of metal in the distance. It's bigger, more substantial than the debris they can see in their immediate area. It looks like some sort of giant humanoid form? ...And it's knelt down into a hunch, unmoving like a statue. Clad entirely in black armor, this inactive giant is the only thing apparently left on this battlefield.

Luke, who arrived ahead of them, is already making his way through the desert and towards the still giant, not waiting for their comments or for them to get used to things. And the voice continues to sing.

But we have plenty of love...

                              ...held in these hands
Deelel Deelel and X are children of humanity and both care about their makers but sometimes? Seriously what is going on in those Primates Minds? She really wonders how they got so ordered as it is given how chaotic the material world was but now isn't the time for that.

"We're lucky that it is X!"

Deelle keeps moving over the lifeless sand and looks out at the carnage.

"I can hear the song..."

The Multi Media program listens to the song wondering about it's intent but she looks over the carnage again and pauses at the last metal giant.

"There's one left, is it alive still?"
Kazusa Ujikane     Well, this is an unexpected change of scenery. They're in a desert that looks like it's seen a pretty bad battle. And Kazusa, with that extra gear on, is breathing kind of hard. Pant, pant. "...we made it," she manages, finally straightening up to look around. "Well, I mean, I'd play a game with a level like this. It's really creepy, but also kinda cool... and I think he's got the right idea!" She goes sauntering off after Luke cheerfully.
Reina Kinney Music soothes the beast sometimes, but this is not the time for music in Reina's mind.

She takes out her binoculars and surveys the general area with them, eventually stopping when she spots the metal giant. "Something is still moving, but should we check it out?" Given that she's not familiar with this place, Reina snaps her fingers and her pistols materialize, one in each hand. "Because whatever happened here makes me wonder if it might happen again..."
Misha     In Misha's defense, she recovers well enough, when Reina gives a helping hand. The Star Singer isn't going to say no, hoisting herself back to feet, once given the aid up. "Fwuah... Thanks."
Poor girl. No matter what she's in, she just can't keep her balance. But it's of little consequence, once inside the Cocoon.
This time it's not a rainy city, but an arid wasteland. "Oh come on I'm going to get sand everywhere." It's worse than rusting mind-armor.
But then that haunting voice begins to sing anew. And the way back out is gone. "Well. If this really is a Cosmosphere... We all know there's only one way out. Let's try to not wreck anytihng too badly."
If anything, the way Luke's headed seems to be the way to go, though Misha does pause here and there to inspect the debris and detritus.
Fiera Kitsun A desert. If Fiera had known she'd wind up here, she would probably have picked her team a little better; for now, she just looks around, shading her eyes with her hand if the sun is bright enough to necessitate it; Foxfire's ears prick up, trying to get a better read on where the singing is coming from. The motionless metal giant does seem like the best direction to head in - maybe the only one in evidence, in fact - and after pausing to see where the others are going, Fiera sets off in that direction, following after Luke if nobody else.
X WELP.

Deserts are better than rainy cities, where X is concerned, but... they may not be so preferred where the biologicals are concerned. The bright sun here means his stores of energy are charging and topping off like mad, and it may give his buster a slight advantage. Slight.

But for everyone else it's probably hell. "Ugh! It was a city last time." He exclaims in protest, only to fall silent a moment later and listen to the music.

"Well... the song's SLIGHTLY less bleak this time. That's a good thing."

He's not sure what to make of all the broken weapons and junk around. But he's suspicious of that giant... and walks with them.
Lyner Barsett      On the way, they will be able to see that all of the forgotten remnants of the past strewn about were quite worn. But they weren't ancient. This battle happened fairly recently, at least in a general sense. None of these weapons could be used by anyone here in any reasonable way. They were simply too big.

And eventutally, they do reach the metal giant at last. It is much bigger up close, being about ten meters while knelt down. The place where one could tall it's eyes, were dull, suggesting that it had no power at the moment. The chest of the machine was solid, with no real place that looks like it could be opened. But on it's back, it looked like there was some kind of open hatch...

A place for the pilot to get into the cockpit? This giant was something controlled by man then? So where was the pilot? There was no one here.

The voice sings on, and at the the words pass by, the ground rumbles subtly.

                                   Those who...

                                  ...have faith

Not like a persistent earthquake, but more like...the combined sound of many, many forms moving at once. ...In fact, that's exactly what it was. Luke narrowed his eyes and peered on ahead. "...I hope you people have got experience dealing with giant robots." He spoke calmly, taking a cube from his waist and expanding it, powering on an energy lance.

From the distance, far, far ahead of the metal titan they were currently parked around, a line of black could be seen, accompanied by the echoing sound of countless feet taking steps. That line of black grew gradually and gradually more clear, till they all could see that what was coming for them...was a veritable army of machines, all clad in grey metal, with gleaming red eyes. They marched in a single line, not seeming to be in any rush as they were headed right for everyone.

                                will act on behalf

                           of their unwavering love...

"...That doesn't look good." Lyner muttered, looking left and right, and then up at the giant they were with. "...I wonder if this thing still works..." Not that he seemed to have any inclination to actually climb up there and try it. He was stepping forward, blade held ready for the defense.
Fiera Kitsun Foxfire's ears twitch. "Nine nine tales ..." << You can hear that, right, Fiera? Something's coming. >>

Fiera nods, "Yes ... Honoka, Arashi, be my eyes above!" She plucks two Pokeballs from her belt, expanding them, and tosses them into the air; they open, and streaks of reddish light resolve into the shapes of a Fletchling and a Fearow, both of them taking to the sky as Fiera catches the balls and reattaches them to her belt. "Kiseki, if we have to do battle, I'll be relying on you!" A *third* Pokeball is deployed, the stony form of a Golem taking shape in front of Fiera, the rock Pokemon rumbling, "GOL!!" << READY!! >> The Golem might not be the fastest option to close with any enemies, but Fiera would rather keep her forces 'together' as much as she can. Clearly she's planning on this being a more defensive fight than an offensive one.
Reina Kinney Fiera and her Pokemon aren't the only ones sensing something. Reina senses it as well and she assumes a slightly offensive stance. "Whatever's coming out way, it better watch out!" She narrows her eyes a little, then snaps her fingers a few more times, switching her pistols with her rifle instead. "I don't like this one bit, and generally when I've got a gut instinct like this, it turns out to be bad..."
Kazusa Ujikane     On the way over, Kazusa is happy to give X and the others more information about how her cards work; but arriving at the metal giant, she's some semblance of serious. At least, she's got the first aid kit ready. And that's certainly some metal giant... no, no that's a mecha. It's a mecha, call it what it is, and what it is is a mecha!

Kazusa's eyes might be twinkling a little.

...only maybe not so much, now that the army of machines is stomping on in.

"O-oh... um..." Kazusa looks around, trying to find herself a good place to hide. Where, where, where- oh! Oh up in there! In that cockpit-esque hole. That... is probably a cockpit. "Here! I'll hide up in here. Misha, come up here! It should be safe in here!" Kazusa gives a wave to Misha, beckoning her along, then goes racing up the thing's back. She's not going to do something stupid like try to hammer the buttons and see if it will fire up on its own, no sir. She's just going to hide in there where she'll be out of sight and the advancing army probably won't shoot at her.

(She's totally going to do something stupid like trying to hammer all the buttons and see if it will fire up on its own.)
Misha     "Wow. Cruche would fall in love at first sight." That's Misha's assessment at the sight of the metal collossus. Gauntlets set on her hips as the Star Singer whistles through her teeth. Of course then she spots the pilot seat. "Yeah Lyner, she'd kill to see something like this wouldn't she?"
But the Reyvateil pauses. Those haunting lyrics continue. Haunting. Melodic. The lyrics make her frown.
'Act on behalf of unwavering love'.
There is never a song sung by a Reyvateil without meaning, and she's left pondering it a long moment, barely noticing the dark silhouettes on the horizon. "This... I don't know, I really feel like she's..."
She's now paying attention to her surroundings. "Oh."
Misha will have to ponder the spectrum of another girl's heart later. For now, she's keen to hide somewhere she can safely sing from, while the others formulate a battle plan. This means, she's... Pretty easily coaxed into the cockpit with Kazusa and slumps in. "I can probably sing from here if things get messy out th-- Hey whoah wait what do you think you're doing?!"
Oh this can't go wrong at all.
Deelel Deelel pays attention to the song looking for what meaning in it she can find, maybe there's a clue about how to fix things in it? She listen to Kazusa speak on her powers over the comm which leaves her wondering about the nture of the place and the song? Eithe way she heads towards the mecha for lack of a better term to get a better look at things but it seems there's something else near by.

"Combat mecha this could get dicey for us if we got to del with hostile ones..."

Then Kazusa goes to hide in the machine, she prays to Sarah-42 that ... this doesn't end badly.
X The group reaches the strange... mecha? Giant? X has resolved to remain with Kazusa so he simply listens to the voice and watches... but answering Luke?

"Not a lot, but some!" What's that rumble?

He turns to look and... RECOILS BACK IN SHOCK at what his telescoping vision reveals. Well, as far as he can zoom anyways.

"A Mechaniloid army?! We might be better off hiding!"

He's not sure if heading into the machine's the BEST idea so he does the next best thing and sidles up to the fallen thing and shuts down a lot of his unnecessary systems to reduce his heat profile, hoping that an army of machines will see him as nothing more than wreckage laying against ruins!
Lyner Barsett      KAZUSA PRESSES BUTTONS. Why? Why would you do this!?

At first nothing happens, of course. She just randomly pressed buttons! But then....then....THEN- the hatch of the cockpit closed shut with a thunk and a whirr of metal, plunging Misha and Kazusa into darkness.

From outside, Lyner looked back, blinking. "Uh...Hey, did that thing just move?" Yes. Yes it did. But damn it, he didn't have time to stare back, the mecha army was approaching, and they were coming in hot! It seemed like they were definitely going to attack them with purpose though, as each and every one of those metal titans raised an arm, some sort of gun in hand. In the distance, a line of scattered blue dots of energy could be seen, getting larger and larger... And then they fired, sending off beams of azure plasma hurtling through the desert in a straight line towards everyone in an indiscrimiate barrage. "Oh crap!" Lyner cried, leaping aside at the beams came blowing through the desert.

They weren't homing or anything, so it wasn't nearly as bad as back in the city, but...well, there were a LOT of these things.

BACK INSIDE WITH MISHA AND KAZUSA

The darkness was soon replaced by light, as the cockpit's monitors lit up. On it, theey could see their immediate desert surroundings perfectly clear. And on screen was also some kind of log. It read:

'Date Garbled Project Sotiris is going well. The subject is healthy and capable. We're going to start her education and training soon.'

'The subject is learning at a respectable rate. We expect that she'll be able to fulfill her given duty at the projected time. I can't help but feel a bit proud. Is this what it's like to be a parent?'

'The time is fast approaching. ...The subject is almost ready. We must make preparations. She will be our mouthpiece to the goddess... We will show her that humanity can change.'

'For the sake of all of us, it must be done...'

After a few moments, it minimized itself off the display, and then another bit of text popped up on screen.

     'Manual Control Initiated'

...Misha, Kazusa, ARE YOU BAD ENOUGH WOMEN TO PILOT A MOBILE SUIT!?

The stage is clear, there are weapons all around, and an army in front of you. The time has come. Time to grasp your destiny.

     ...Right?
Kazusa Ujikane     Oh god, that worked. That button /worked/ and it's starting up and- oh, hey, some text about Sotiris. Something about a healthy subject, training, education, a given duty, mouthpiece to a goddess? It goes by for Kazusa too fast to remember much of it, but there's three words that she can read very well. 'Manual control initiated'.

    Oh god.

Kazusa looks at the controls. Something's got to be a yoke, or a set of levers, or pedals and gloves, or /something/! Kazusa looks for something to grab and pull, something to turn, anything that looks like it might be basic movement controls! "Uhh, Misha, are there, are there any labels? On buttons? Can you read any of these maybe? Or maybe there's a Reyvateil interface, or manual or..."

Okay so she's a little flustered right now. It's a tense situation!
Deelel Deelel sees the mecha starting to move again, and she just backs the heck off she slflips away from it not sropping for a godo bit as weapons start to go off. This has just got insane.
% R"WHT DID YOU DO!!!"

The Basic cries as she gets out of harms way or she tries to at least She doesnt' want to get stepped on, what is just going on in there. She listens to the radio and just is getting bck as she hears Misha asking for random buttons to keep getting pushed there's more than a little bit of terror builing up inside her. Why do users do things like this? Why!?
Fiera Kitsun That's a lot of giant robots, and Fiera is quickly realizing how poorly suited her Pokemon are for fighting. She really needed one of her heavy hitters - and the heaviest hitter she has, as these things go, is currently Kiseki. Still, the approaching enemies ARE metal, so ...

Foxfire inhales deeply, her eyes flaring brighter as she gathers her power; when she exhales, the Ninetales literally breathes fire, turning loose a Flamethrower attack as soon as the enemy robots are close enough for her to hit. In the sky above, Arashi wheels away, dodging attacks launched at the Fearow; the much smaller Honoka is recalled to a Pokeball for safety's sake.

But Kiseki the Golem isn't going to duck back out of the fight on the premise that he 'can't do anything'. Instead, the Golem gets a running start, practically coming in behind the Flamethrower attack - and then Kiseki retracts his head and limbs, rolling on through the sand and picking up speed. If Foxfire's flames aren't enough to start weakening the mecha, maybe a Rollout to their feet will help.
Reina Kinney Giant robots means frustration for Reina. She runs backwards as best as she can, keeping an eye on her targets, while pondering the best course of action. Does she try using her weapons or should she try a TECHNIC instead? After a brief mental debate, Reina lifts her right hand and points it at the enemy mecha and calls out, "ZONDE!" Sending forth an electrical blast at the enemy mecha.
Misha     Okay so uh.
    That happened.
Misha was getting ready to hunker down and pretend to be a non-existent target for the duration of the conflict, while providing support. Now she's nestled firmly in the Reyvateil-linking seat of a busted mecha, with a pilot who, EQUALLY, has no idea what she is doing. The instant 'Manual Control Initiated' sounds off, Misha blanches. Especially at the sight of all the approaching collossi.
She is distracted, by the log playing, listening, sure to set her radio on record to catch it. The truth is, Misha is a little out of her element-- okay a lot out of her element as the wall of titans approach, she draws a breath and begins to chant. Rhythmic and melodic, Hymmnos flowing in a stream of frazzled concentration and a really, really bad idea.
It's a peppy tune, the kind of thing one might expect to hear from a saturday morning kid's show of all things, or a series made from another series that was hacked apart, edited, and spliced with foreign material into a bastardization of the original.
And then Riva Banari appears-- well no, it's not the actual Riva, but a small chibi version of her. Soon joined by Landon al Cid, Fassad, Caro ru Luche, and Ayako Hasekawa. And they all stand in a line with the tiny 'Riva' at their head. And they begin to call out.

"The passion of a burning heart of justice! PRISMA RED!"
"The nobility of the just... PRISMA ROYAL PURPLE!"
"The chivalry of the just! PRISMA KNIGHTLY SILVER!"
"The true charity of the human spirit! PRISMA CUTE PINK!"
"The quiet intensity that supports your dreams! PRISMA COOL BLUE!"

A flash of rainbow light and the squad is replaced by... Themselves, but in sentai henshin outfits. Striking another pose, the PRISMA COLOR SQUAD flood the cockpit with color- and then the rest of the mech. No longer a black collossus, but one of reds, orange, blues, greens, vivid indigos and violet paint jobs.
...And blathering at Kasuza with EXTREME and COOL hand motions and martial arts in interpretive poses on how to pilot a 'Color Zord' while Misha's song reinforces the old worn down machine.
X And then the Fallen Giant rises, just as the ONCOMING ARMY opens fire. X dives prone to evade a few shots, his movements becoming a bit strange as he hops about left and right while keeping low. His combat software's among the first things to reboot and a darned good thing because he really needs it to predict incoming fire!

Even so, he takes a few grazing shots on his arms, legs, side. His 'vitals' remain uncompromised but he can't keep THAT up for too long.

"There's WAY too many of them! Where's the exit?!"

He's got little faith in Kazusa's ability to pilot a mech without any training. He'll just have to hope. A lot.

For now though? All he can do is take potshots from this ineffective long range with the X-Buster. Half the energy in those shots will DISPERSE.

Then, of course, the nearby robot starts flashing into new colors. X has only a second to glance at that before...

    KRTHUUUUUUUM!

Some of those azure shots hit the sand near him, triggering an EXPLOSION of heat and light and glass shards that knocks him sailing off his feet and skidding over the desert surface on his back. He flips about and onto his feet, but... he's...

    Transfixed by this bizarre... power-up?

Not that he can talk much about changing colors. "Okay, NOW what's happening?! ... Maybe she IS good with those."
Kazusa Ujikane     That... that looks like a usable control! This is a yoke, sort of, and there's pedals, and...

The whole mecha nearly goes over on its face within about a second of Kazusa taking control.

And then Misha starts singing. Even Kazusa can only stare for several seconds, before mumbling, "...that's too weird even for me..."

But wait, hang on, even if they just colorized this mecha in a weird way and they're being too flamboyant and silly /even for her/, they're... explaining how to pilot?! Oh! "O-oh! I think I get it! Hang on, Misha-!"

And the mecha rises up. Reaches over, grabs the handle of a nearby sword, swings it around... and nearly goes tumbling over again. But she saves it! Kazusa saves it. It stays on its feet.

It's probably not the smoothest ride.

But now she's starting off at a walk. And then a run! And now it's a flat-out charge, sword raised to start swinging!
Deelel Deelel isn't even sure about what's going on anymore but she knows to keep the hell away from the mecha. She backs off from the mecha nd is looking for cover, as Misha starts to sing she doesn't wan to get caught in things, but wait what's going on here? The machine is now looking a heck of a lot like something she saw once long ago and she's just staring there mouth hanging open as she's not sure what to do now.
Lyner Barsett                            If I could challenge fate...

...I'd act on all of my feelings.

This is a TERRIBLE situation for on footers. Lyner's a melee fighter. And his Impulse would disperse before it even struck anything at this range. X isn't much better off. And Deelel just backs off. Reina valiantly attempts to fight back with some lightning magic, and a few bolts strike the oncoming colossi, and they spark over their armor, causing a few to jerk up and break formation... But they seem to recover their systems and press on after a moment or two. They were simply too BIG!

Fiera's pokemon come in with a dual attack! A combination of flamethrower and rollout. The pair of attacks have the effect of giving one of those giant robots pause. Long enough for the second attack to trip it, and send it crashing to the ground. ...But it wasn't out. It got back up to it's feet slowly, and eventually resumed it's march.

Luke narrowed his eyes at the proceedings, looking left and right as he considered things. MEANWHILE Misha and Kazusa have...done a thing. The dull black metal of their machine lights up, colorizing in a really weird manner as a song began to filter out of it. Lyner looked back, arching a brow.

     "Uh...."

And then it stood. A bit jerkily, but it stood. And it grabbed a nearby sword before charging at the oncoming army! It's movements were getting better with each passing moment, and the strike of that sword cleaves through several hostile machines at once. Perfect!

...Except for the fact that, you know, there was a whole army and just one of it.

But soon, their prayers were answered. Way in the distance behind the that army of titans, a shining golden pillar suddenly erupted.

                              As I continue to love

                                 there's no doubt

                             the light of the future

                                   will unfold

"Hey! That's..." Lyner muttered, staring off into the distance. "...The way out!"
Kazusa Ujikane     A way out. Okay, that's good. Because the way this robot's stumbling, when all the others focus on it, 'flailing and the element of surprise' are going to stop being a viable combat method. So Kazusa tosses aside the sword and takes a few steps back from the line, guiding the robot around to run back to her allies; she then crouches it down, in such a way that people can climb onto hands, arms, the back, whatever they can get ahold of. "Everyone hop on if you need a ride!"
Reina Kinney Hop on if they need a ride? Sounds good to Reina! She jumps into the back and then proceeds to secure herself to the neck area using an electronic grappling device of some sort. The device attaches to the neck while remaining wrapped around Reina's waist, providing her with a secure way of staying on it. "All right, I'm secure! Once the others are on, let's get the Falz outta here!"
Fiera Kitsun That was a lot less effective than Fiera was hoping, but the golden pillar seems like a good sign - and then Lyner confirms that they've got an exit route. Good enough.

She doesn't need to get a ride, either, at least not on the giant robot. Fiera recalls Foxfire to her Pokeball, then Kiseki when the Golem rolls back into range; Arashi is already coming around and beginning a swoop. For a few seconds, Fiera just stands there, her gaze going less-focused ...

Then she jumps, reaching up with both arms right as the Fearow wheels about over her head, and the human girl's hands grasp the bird's talons as Arashi beats her wings all the harder, trying to lift Fiera clear of the line of enemy robots, and then to soar over to the pillar for their escape.

As long as they don't have to do any more fighting on the way out.
Misha     Apparently... Apparently they did something. Even while singing, Misha ponders the significance of the act... To restore that which was broken and alone and bring it to challenge the many. There's no way it can not be symbolic. Even as Misha sings, she turns the radio log over in her head. A mouthpiece to Shurelia. To show her humanity can change...
It's something she pores over again and again while keeping up the rhythmic chanting of her song as it seems to be time to get out of dodge, now that this mysterious Reyvateil has experienced a paradigm shift.
Another chibi figure appears. It's... Mir. Though she dons a bright red scarf and black helmet, and hops on a tiny motorcycle.
Masked Blazer, secret ally of the Prisma Color Squad drives her bike into the proverbial sunset, cuing an end to the song. Kazusa should have the idea of how to move the machine they way they want it now, anyway.
X "Rrgh." X pushes to his feet, but stays ducked low to minimize his profile. "There..." He didn't expect ANYTHING to happen from just taking down a FEW of these giant robots, but now that SOMETHING's CHANGED... and it's possibly the exit... "Push through! Make it to that pillar! That pillar's our only chance!"

So he runs. He runs with all he's got to catch up to that giant robot, zigging and zagging across the sands.... he's not even bothering to shoot anymore since there's just not enough firepower at long range to MATTER.
Lyner Barsett                                    Those who...

                                    have faith

                         will not waver, their hearts...

                           can penetrate through desire

Lyner doesn't take chances. He runs over to Kazusa and Misha's robot, hopping into the hand and catching a ride. Luke meanwhile doesn't bother to jump on. In fact, he moves with X. The metal of his greaves shifts, revealing boosters set within as he dashes forward. He doesn't bother to fight on the way. He just boosts, flying straight forward like a missile, veering left and right to weave through the legs of the oncoming titans.

And the army does not make it easy. Theyreach back, drawing metal blades from their backs before beginning to swing and thrust them. Mostly at the rogue mecha being piloted. But the power bestowed upon it by the PRISMA RANGERS has boosted it's parameters beyond their own. It can easily get through on sheer speed alone...even if it's mostly just fumbling in actuality.

Leaving the army of hostile titans behind, they arrive at the golden pillar, passing through it before everything goes white, just like last time. And this time, that reyvateil's voice sings one last verse.

As I continue to be a person of my heart

                                raised by a light

                                     of hope

And once the light fades, they realize...they're back in the forest outside the cocoon. It's locked up tight once again. Unfortunately, that giant songmecha is not there with them. But in Kazusa's hands is some kind of thumb drive.. Perhaps the data they'd seen before?

It's Lyner who speaks up first. "That...I think that went pretty well!"
Deelel Deelel is just getting the hell away from things as she tries to digure out how to attack it but this doesn't seem to matter now as they Misha and Kazusa have managed to stt it ot at lerast open a way out. She's goin g to get very much in the car as it were to get the hell out of here. She doesn't want to end up left behind in this place, oh she does not want to be left behind in this place.
Fiera Kitsun The sudden transition back to the forest catches Fiera (and Arashi) by surprise, but they descend to land gently near the others. "That waws, I have to admit, spectacularly odd," the red-haired Pokemon trainer remarks wryly as she lets go of Arashi's talons upon touchdown; the Fearow controlled their landing well enough that there's no lateral momentum for her to run off, either. The bird just circles around once, then alights in a nearby tree while Fiera's getting the right ball off her belt to recall it.

"I'd better be on my way for now, though," Fiera adds apologetically. "I'm glad I was able to provide some semblance of help; good luck with the further explorations, if I'm not here to assist. See you all around!"
Kazusa Ujikane     Fwud.

Kazusa is now sitting on her butt. Blink blink.

    "...I... I..."

She looks back at the sphere.

    ".../Ipilotedagiantrobot/."

The nerdy girl is grinning from ear to ear, and it takes her several seconds bfore she even realizes that she's got something in her hands. What's- oh! "...Some kind of reward for getting it right? Cooool. Maybe it goes with that laptop we got!"
