Ixqor Nathrach The camp lay at the bottom of small mound amidst a dense and lush forest. The day was at it's peak, and hardly any clouds filled the sky. The only thing to mar such perfect weather would be that of black fumes rising above the tree tops. Luckily, this was no forest fire, but it was instead a sort of cleansing pyre. Nearly all of the banners, bodies, and most of the tents were stacked in a burning pile of lumber. Most of the bdies still had their armor on, and several still clung to their weapons even through death as they became blackened skeletons. In the center of the camp stood the altar upon a wooden daius. The wood was forever marked with the eightfold star, never to be erased, and was almost too impure to even approach without hearing whispers or feeling uneasy. It was here the believed champions arrived and turned on their summoners. It seems the cult were quite unlucky when it came to who they plucked from the warp and beyond.
Toph Beifong     New worlds are always worth exploring during quiet afternoons, though now that she's here a certain earthbender isn't so sure if this might be the best place to look for new samples for her earth and metal collection.

The smell is horrible as it's carried on the wind, and as she wanders through the forest she can't help but reach a hand up to her nose. The closer she gets, the worse the stench gets. It seems like a funeral pyre! As if several firebenders went crazy and burnt people to a crisp... Sure, burnt flesh isn't a new smell, but it's still as revolting as the first time she smelt it!

Toph wrinkles her nose as she arrives at the clearing. Just what happened here exactly? A battle with one side losing horribly? Whatever happened here somehow makes her uneasy without her being exactly sure why. Her right hand clutches at her satchel, and she swallows as she takes some careful steps forward.
Finna A white-furred fox emerges from the warp gate not far behind Toph. Finna's heard of this world from a few people and came to expore. These 'Skaven' creatures, do they come from here? If so he wants to be on the lookout and investigate them before they 'investigate' Creation.

Her footsteps are light, lighter than most foxes. In all honesty the little creature's presence is difficult to detect, despite standing in plain sight. She's leaving no scent, the flow of air doesn't betray her form as her body ripples, and she seems so innocuous on a subconscious level that she's as easy to overlook as grass.

But one thing does break that spell of stealth, so to speak.

The fox 'sneezes', a *HWCH-SNUFF*- like noise.

Seems it doesn't like the smell of burning people.
Ixqor Nathrach Arcane energies would begin to fill the area then as the altar seemed to come to life. Shadows and swirls of pink and red energy would begin to form a ball floating over the daius. Shivers would run down the spine of anyone nearby as a gate to the warp was opened in a flash of intense light. Once all was settled, the rift woul dlook similar to a tear in a persons clothing. A jagged and ripped hole in the fabric of real space from which lightning and sparks crackled occaisonally. If one was to look within the portal they would feel entranced, as though being pulled closer towards it by voices beckoning them. They would see faces being formed in the clouds that began to spew from the portal, one of smiling monsters laughing at them. It was quite a hellish looking vista.

The clouds would disperse though as someone stepped through the portal, standing at nearly eight feet tall, clad in bulky blue and green armor, bearing marks and insignias not disimilar to the ones strewn about on banners or on the bodies. IT also was marked with the symbol of a hydra on the armors left shoulder. The being wielded a blade in his right hand, one shaped to be snake like, with the ends of the sword appearing to curve in on the end of the blade like a snakes fangs. The rest of the blade depicted a serpent going along the broad side of the weapon, with small runes being etched along it's metal surface. At the top of the hilt was a representation of an eight point star with an eye in the center, forever watching everything around it. With the beings entrance the gate would close behind them at the flick of the mans free wrist. A helm hid his face, one with two horns at the top which angled and came together.

Upon spotting the only living being besides himself in teh area, Ixqor would pause in his stride from the wooden platform. "Oh? A civilian?" She didn't appear dangerous, but something about her made Ixqor think twice. He attempted to divine for any magical powers, and began to feel something he was unfamiliar with. It wasn't simply arcane mastery, it was a new kind of power that rested behind the womans' eyes, and he was certainly wary of it. Behind her then, he'd catch glimpses of white fur. An animal of some sort? Perhaps the woman's companion.
Toph Beifong     The sneeze from behind her does make Toph turn her head just slightly as she speaks up. "... it's not /that/ fun to watch me collect rocks, is it?" Sure, it might not be why Finna is here now, but hey, it's Toph.

The brilliant flash as time and space is torn is lost on unseeing eyes, though she does hear the sounds as lightning crackles and sparks dance. Though what really gets her attention is when somebody steps through, and her eyes narrow slightly where she stands, obviously alert even if her eyes are not pointed in the sudden arrival's direction. Okay, whatever he's wearing doesn't seem like regular weekend wear, even if she can't see him through the wooden platform. She does sense the presence of metal there however. Is he wearing armour or wielding some weapons, perhaps...?

The teenager arches an eyebrow at his comment. "Well, I don't think I /look/ like I'm here on official business. I do kinda wonder why there's a funeral pyre out here in the forest though," she adds and points directly at the heap of bodies and items. "For one, it absolutely /reeks/. Is this your doing?"
Alden Seems like Toph and the fox were not the only ones poking around, a rather nervous looking Gabumon slowly approaches the group, trying to be silent. He is small enough he can manage it for the most part, even if the scents in the air make him squirm and struggle with the desire to sneeze. He notices the flash and the... spooky effects, and decides to get closer, clearly noticeable by Toph, and perhaps the fox.
Finna So much for any attempt at stealth! Having a STRANGE RIP IN REALITY appear nearby fills Finna with instinctive fear. She LEAPS AWAY from it, landing with her eyes on it... and that is maybe a mistake. Because her stealth magic falters instantly from the intense whiney-growl she makes at it!

Like a cat, her tail's standing straight out and poise is tall and tense, ready to spring in any direction at a moment's notice. And the weird lights of the Warp play strangely with her being. Faint, swirling lines tattooed all over her body in an intricate pattern glimmer through her fur in a weird silvery color interspersed with all the colors of the Warp portal - reflecting the Warp and fending off its influence, however slight it might be, on her body. Seems that the Warp might have just enough similarity to the Wyld that Moonsilver sees it as a distant, if disturbing cousin.

As Toph points her out and the Chaos Marine makes his way into the area... Finna's fox body melts and shifts, reforming more vertically as she takes a single step back. The transformation only takes a matter of seconds, bone and fur and flesh and muscle and blood and limbs rippling and flowing fluidly like mercury. Even her clothing emerges from the transformation to human form, with tattoos, fox ears and tail on full display. But she's also armed now. She carries a blade of simple design - just polished steel and forged in a simple style one might associate with the Vikings.

"...You must have balls of steel to travel like THAT, sorcerer. Hi Toph! Seems I can't go anywhere without something happening!"
Ixqor Nathrach "It certainly does not." He would step off of the wooden platform then, and onto the solid ground, finally becoming visible to the blind earthbende.r "And no, this is not my doing. Though I took brief part in this conflict. I was once summoned here by some aspiring sorcerer, only to have us summoned one be ambushed by the locals. Are you perhaps native to this land?" His voice was deep and rich, sounding learned, though it partially crackled through the armors vox systems. He would turn his attention then to the shifter, and sheathe his blade. "A shape shifter, and a gifted one at that to know what I am from first glance. And no credit should be given for flying the warp. It is a simple task once one masters it." He would chuckle briefly, stepping towards the two with his heavy boots leaving imprints in the ground. "So it seems my once allies failed once I was sent back to where I was. A pity. I had hopes for them, though they did seem rather weak."
Toph Beifong     Seems Alden is here as well, huh? Though Toph doesn't draw attention to him just yet in case he doesn't wish for the mysterious guy to know he's there. If he wants to, he will reveal himself, she assumes. Likewise Toph doesn't seem to be surprised by Finna's transformation either, knowing her well enough by now through previous missions and whatnot.

"Good, I was wondering for a moment whether I had picked out the wrong clothes," the blind teen says with a brief smirk. Ah, there we go... this guy is sporting some freaky armour. And what's up with that sword of his? It seems less practical than most swords with the way it's shaped... is it ceremonial or something?

As he speaks Toph listens intently for several reasons. One of them to listen for any obvious signs of lying. Let's face it, the guy just showed up in a nasty place, and he's a stranger. Regarding his question about whether she's a native to this land? "Nope, I'm far away from home. This isn't your world either...?" she inquires. This guy was summoned here? How weird... "So those dead guys there summoned you? And then were killed?" Pardon her for looking a tad suspicious.
Alden The digimon was not trying to be too sneaky, especially when he sees the flashy teleport, basically rushing to approach Toph, the... transforming fox? and the armored person. He growls as he spots the armored one, recalling him from that situation...

He does not outright attack or anything, but he slowly approaches Toph, "Be careful... I saw him do some... scary stuff." he mumbles softly, eyes narrowed. Of course, that lets Ixqor to see him, one of others that got summoned there. "This was a big battle..."
Finna Of course, anyone who comes through a screaming tunnel and calls it no big deal is... probably lying about how insane that is. Probably. So she frowns ever so slightly. Arrogant sorcerer? Maybe. Who knows yet!

Alden's warning is almost unnecessary, she's already unsure of this guy.

"Wasn't following you this time, Toph! Heard something about nasty critters from this world. Came to see them for myself!"

The foxgirl's tail starts wagging as she gives Ixqor a sideways, sly look while glancing him over. "Can't think of anything else who'd come tearing out of a screaming wyld portal thing!"
Ixqor Nathrach "No. It is not. I wa sin the middle of rather important research, only to be brought here against my will. A battle ensued and I did my best to assist those I thought to be allies. In the end I ended up back in teh ruins I was investigating, as randomly as I arrived. I come back here now to investigate this land. If a sorcerer of similar power exists in this universe, then perhaps the things that I seek do as well." He would sheathe his blade, finding none of those present a threat to himself or his objective. At the moment at least. "And I suppose you are right to assume, shifter. Not many others would have such power... Now what exactly are you two doing here. I've explained myself, but you have also just arrived at the scene of a now concluded skirmish in a world your not from."

He paused as the digimon creature lept to Toph's side, watching Ixqor closely. "Ah, you. Yes I remember you. You were summoned along with me to the cults camp. Interesting to meet you here agin is it not?" The man would chuckle briefly before continuing. "Of all thinsg to find I didn't expect you, as yu were clearly the most fascinating of the bunch brought to the scene. Are you some sort of shifter as well?"
Toph Beifong     When Alden rushes forward, Toph stands still, basically acting as a small wall between Alden and Pointy Sword wielding Weird Armour Guy. Heck, the fact that Alden is growling is enough. But it's clear that the little Digimon has seen this guy before. And he's not lying about that fact. "If you got any details guys, then share." Somehow the earthbender doesn't look nervous where she stands, though Ixqor should easily note that she also looks ready to react.

It's easy enough to answer the question what she's doing here. "I'm looking for rocks and metal," Toph replies truthfully. "I personally don't care for killing. Nor the stench..." she adds while reaching up to cover her nose. However, she's a bit curious. "Wait... you got summoned here too, Squirt?" she asks Alden.
Alden Alden is rather tempted to just use a card to prepare for any eventual combat, but tries to avoid... starting a fight if he can help it, he is not sure what Ixqor can do!. He addresses to Toph's question first, "Yes, me and Karian Icefang... and a couple others, got drawn here by a bunch of weird humans saying we were sacrifices and stuff." he says softly. Having said that, he turs towards Ixqor, "I'm a Digimon, I guess you can say I am a shifter of sorts... my kind tends to end up changing shapes more than once along our lives..." he says softly. He appreciate's Toph's positioning. "I was just curious and exploring here a bit..."
Finna "Word spreads fast in the Multiverse!" States the lithe foxgirl, who offers an overly animate shrug whilst leaning in for emphasis. "Heard some nasty tales about this planet! So here I am to see for myself! Simple as that." Of course...

Of course, she's not going to mention that if sh finds any really neat treasure or anything else just COOL she'll grab it while she's at it...
Ixqor Nathrach Ixqor takes a few more steps forward, only being several feet from the group now. "Oh so you two know eachother as well? And so the web thickens." He pauses, hearing the name. Karian Icefang. "So that is my wolf pelt clad brothers name! Should have expected as much from a wolf lord. No matter though, that is a subject for elsewhere." Ixqor would clasp his armored hand sbehind his back, standing even taller now over the group. "Now now, you have no need to fear me. Drop your guards. I pose no threat to you." He would turn his head, examining each of them closely, noting the black haired teen's eyes. "Impaired are you? I should hope your not walking about without someone to guide you." He looks then to the digimon. "I see, it is a fair allaby. Curiosity seems to span all sentient species, I blame you not for returning." Finally he looks to the shifter, the fox liek woman. "Well from my brief ten or so minute encounter, the Cult that SUmmoned us was ambushed by armed forces of elves and humans. They were much larger in number, and well, they did... this. Quite barbaric if you ask me." There were no lies in his words, though to the digimon, his words may have a bias associated with them.
Finna "Have seen worse." Finna exclaims solidly, though with no small amount of disgust. She -has- seen worse, but doesn't really LIKE seeing anything like this at all. Yuck. "Demon cults and death cults always have TWISTED ideas of how to go about everything! Anyways..." She turns around and starts looking about but her ears are also swiveling like radio dishes just in case anything actually came at her from behind.

"Did a number on the place..."
Toph Beifong     "Yeah, we know each other. So what?" Toph listens curiously, recognising one name there. Karian Icefang isn't somebody she's spent a lot of time with, honestly. Sure, the teen doesn't look intimidated, but she's clearly on guard. "You're a stranger, most people will be on guard when they meet a guy with a weird sword and armour."

She goes quiet though when she is referred to as impaired, at least for a second until she rolls her eyes. "Nah, I'm usually the one doing the guiding. It's more hilarious that way, we never know where we might end up."

Hmmm. It seems he's telling the truth from what she can hear... "He's telling the truth, guys," she says. "So these dunderheads summoned people for sacrificial purposes, they got killed by elves and humans, and the summoned people got away. And now you return here out of curiosity, Mister Cuddly Armour...?"
Alden Alden hears the version from the scary looking human, "He saying the truth, even if he makes the humans sound worse than they were... they did almost attack me." he muses a bit. He moves a bit closer to Toph, a bit less twitchy, but with one hand reaching still towards the box of cards he is carrying, "The... people that summoned us started to transform the other sacrifices into monsters to try to fight back." he simply addds, "It was... disturbing."
Ixqor Nathrach "All is correct except the sacrificial bit. We were supposed to be their... Champions. Now I may fit under that category but the others... They were more civilians in this conflict. They had no prior relation to the cult, and I can only be related through faith, but even that is stretching it. And mister cuddly armor? Now that's a new name." He turns his attention to the digimon then. "Ah yes, they were becomining hosts to the god's powers. Most would say it's quite an admirable end. I'd sure as hell never offer myself up to it though. I'm not as entrenched in silly dogma like some of the other enlightened ones. I still have a sense of reality." He'd look to his feet then, spotting the helm of a fallen chaos warrior. "A pitty it had to come to a slaughter like this. I was hoping to perhaps question the peoples who summoned us. They may have been able to tell me what I desire... But we were interuppted as previously stated."

Ixqor turned his attention back to Toph then. "That is understandble, can't be too careful with menacing looking strangers. But, again, I shall restate the fact, that I shall not raise arms against you, lest you raise arms against me of course." Again, no falsehoods lined his words yet. "Perhaps then I should affirm my benign motives. I am Alpharius." In that moment, Toph would feel the slightest twitch of Ixqors mouth, forming an almost unnoticeable grin, even if his face were visible. It was the first lie he'd given them.
Toph Beifong     "You haven't identified yourself," Toph says with a shrug, not really bothered if he dislikes his nickname or not.

Champions... so the sacrifices were meant to make them stronger or something? Whatever it was it probably wasn't good. And the people got to pay for their attempt to do something so horrific. "Admirable? Seems senseless and utterly stupid if you ask me." Some space mumbo jumbo for sure. Either way the girl doesn't move, letting Alden hide behind her as much as he wants to. Somehow she seems amused when he comments on menacing looking strangers. "What? You think /we/ look like menacing strangers?" she asks, feigning surprise as she points to herself.

Perhaps Finna might notice it, but as he's standing right behind her he might notice that the earthbender tenses just slightly when Ixqor introduces himself as Alpharius. Her face remains blank however. "Huh... weird name." It's too bad that the others already have referred to her by name. She would be tempted to return the favour since he most likely gave them a false name. "I'm Toph Beifong."
Finna "Whatever you say, big guy! Men don't scare me much. Tall or small, in or out of crazy getups." Finna states jovially, and while her easygoing mood's seemingly genuine... it isn't taking away from the side glance she keeps making at what had been the site of the ritual. Every symbol, every misplaced bit of the surroundings, even scratches in the ground! She's pretty keen on making sure nothing important's missed.

"Finna Snowdancer of the Moon-Children, Aaaaalpharius."
Alden The digimon is close enough to Toph that he can tell he earth bender tensed up, smiling at the mention of being menacing, "I don't thik I ever managed to look menacing... handsome?, heroic? sure, but not menacing." he says softly, trying to seem a bit more relaxed adn casual. "I'm Alden... just... Alden, or you can call me Gabumon." he says, since the others are introducing themselves. He has no reason to doubt the name, so he does not, his tension fading a bit, but his hand never moves too far from his D-Arc.
Ixqor Nathrach "It is a name I care with respect." This statement, oddly enough was true. Perhaps there was sentimental meaning to the name. He paused then, confused by what they meant about being menacing. "Oh no, I was referencing myself! I imagine I do come off rather foreign if not menacing to many. I was simply agreeing with your guarded stances." He bowed to the three of them then, as they introduced themselves. "A pleasure. Toph, Finna, Alden." He rose then from his bow and focused on Toph again. "But, of the group, you certainly are the most menacing. To me at least. And please, take that as a compliment." With that he would bring his hands forward and proceed to remove his helmet, holding it then at his left hip.

His face was revealed to be mostly pale, as if they were once tan, but lost the colouration in their skin. He was bald, and his eyes were golden. His features were otehrwise somewhat blocky or sharp, but overall he appeared rather refined and welp kept. "Now, your here in search of metals are you? Some sort of geologist then? Or something more?" As Ixqor came even closer, she may sense that his armor was not simply just metal at all! It had metal workings, but was some sort of strange compound material to serve as the bulk of it's defence. It was a similar case for his blade, though it would feel strange, like nothing she'd ever felt before. It seemed even out of her reach when it came to bending. "And, on the topc of the sacrifices, it is rather silly that their faithw ould drive them to such insanity, but believe me when I tell you they almost certainly gave themselves up willingly to the Gods."
Toph Beifong     This man is peculiar to say the least... What is his agenda, and why did he give them that name? What does seem to amuse Toph however is when he refers to her as the 'most menacing' of the group. Her earlier neutral expression briefly turns into a slight grin. "Oh, I do take it as a compliment!" It's no secret who or what she is, as she's never been one for secrecy or hiding herself and what she does. "You could say I'm something more. I'm the greatest earthbender of all time." Somehow the short teenager seems serious about that claim. And when Ixqor steps closer, she cants her head slightly. There is something weird about his armour... It's not regular metal. Her fingers twitch just slightly as she rearranges her arms, crossing them across her chest where she stands.

"Willingly or not, I say it's cruddin' stupid." Seriously, giving up your life like that? Pathetic if you ask her... "We should probably report this to the authorities so they can clean it up."
Finna "Gonna have to work harder if you want 'menacing,' yep!" Finna affirms with an aside to Alden. She reaches out to curl a hand around his horn and ruffle his head, maybe scratch behind an ear. As if he were a too-cute kid. Or a dog. There's nothing demeaning in her eyes thoughoug the gesture though! She's just being friendly... probably.

She has to shrug at Toph the next moment though. "WHAT authorities?"
Alden Alden never minded such attentions, as long as they were being just friendly, and that seemed the case here!. He leans into the ruffling of the hand, letting out a deep rumble before he looks back at Toph, "I think... the humans and Elves that came here were the authorities.". he says softly.
Ixqor Nathrach Ixqor would visibly smile at that. He somewhat admired the bravado that the teenager carried. "The greatest earthbender there ever was? I thought I sensed power behind those eyes... Speaking of your eyes. The greatest earthbender, as it were, is blind? How did you become the greatest if you could not see your opponents" This generally interested him. He was fully intending on seeing her full power now, or at least what she was willing to show off, and from how confident she seemed, that may not be too hard. "And if you are the greatest, why not give me a demonstration. Your powers... are not of the arcane, but are... Almost magical, if one could call it that. It's something else entirely, and I must witness it for myself." He was clearly eager if not enthralled by the claim that someone could 'bend earth'. He'd seen geomancers, pyromancers, and so on, but... bending is such a strange term that perhaps the art is entirely different. "And you best not get your hopes up about the authorities. I do believe the... Authorities were the one's who made that pyre over there in the first place. Not an uncommon form of dispossing corpses. It could have been worse. They may have gone to the length of crucifying them, if they themselves would claim to be pious. I've seen it first hand. Such are the wages of war though." Ixqor slightly frowned when touching in the subject, but otherwise seemed hardly phased by statements like this. He didn't even seem to mind the smell, or the setting. It all appeared to be common for him. "Indeed, Alden is likely correct in that assumption."
Toph Beifong     "OKAY, to any people nearby who likes being in charge. There's always people who want to be in charge," Toph sighs in response to Finna. Though Alden does have a point... "So they decided that a macabre barbecue was the best solution, huh." How great.

This is hardly the first time her blindness is drawn attention to, and the teen sighs. Perhaps she would be in the mood to show off if they were elsewhere, but the sight of a massacre is hardly a nice one. "It's because I'm blind that I'm the greatest," she instead comments without feeling like going into details. This guy is /creepy/. Can he sense chi or something since he's making those comments? "I only give demonstrations when I feel like it, and besides... I promised I would be home for dinner, Alpharius." With that she offers him a brief nod, then turns slightly towards Finna and Alden. "I don't know about you guys, but I'm heading back to the Warp Gate." She gives them a moment to respond before she turns and heads off back towards the forest.
