Konoe Kanno So, Reimu Hakurei was back.

For Konoe, this was kind of an odd feeling. On one hand, she had spent a lot of time in the past ebing quite angry at her existence, having been constantly compared and drawn parallels to, without truly knowing who she was. It was grating and aggravating. She refused to be pinned down into someone else's shadow. Especially someone who was basically gone all this time.

On the other hand, she didn't feel so terribly peeved about Reimu's overall existence in recent months. She...managed to find her own place, and eke out an existence that was nothing like the Hakurei miko's. Yet still, that shadow lingered in the back of her mind. She...well, she couldn't completely ignore it and say that she was fine.

That would have been a lie.

And so, it's on this particular day, that the youkai miko decides that she needs some closure. Taking off from the Kanno Shrine at the base of Youkai Mountain, she soared through the skies of Gensokyo, headed chiefly in the direction of the Hakurei Shrine...
Reimu Hakurei
Reimu is currently spending her day sweeping up the Hakurei Shrine. Quite a bit of dust has settled along the ground and as expected, the dust can be a bit overwhelming. However, she still manages to sweep up most of the dust for the day and it is currently in a convenient pile next to the grass. As she sweeps, she notices something odd. There's quite a bit of cat hair around some of the corners of the shrine.

Reimu promptly brings the broom across the hard floor, small dust clouds are made in the process of sweeping the cat hair. As she sweeps, she can't help but remember that odd youkai. Normally, most youkai are afraid of her, but this is the first time that one of them actually dressed like her as well. Plus, the way the youkai snapped at her about being similar to herself was rather fishy. That can still be handled later.

Reimu walks over to the wall and sets the broom against it. Then, she proceeds to look towards the sky, however the small smile from getting closer to cleaning the shrine turns slightly upon seeing something get closer and closer.
Konoe Kanno Soaring through the sky, Konoe eventually got into sight of the Hakurei Shrine. From there, she began to lower her altitude until she landed on the shrine grounds, just before the torii. Stepping through it, the youkai peered left and right, checking for any sign of Reimu.

There was no way she went back to hawaii or whatever already, right? Though that might have been just as well too. Ah, but she does notice the other red and white by the well, and she inwardly sighs. So much for going back to Hawaii, huh?

"Hello, Reimu." Konoe greeted evenly, keeping her expression even and resisting the urge to instinctively glare outright.
Reimu Hakurei
Resisting the urge to cringe at the timing, she smiles slightly. Of course, the smile is quite forced for the most part as the unexpected arrival shows up. Well, this is as good a time as any to handle the situation. After all, she seemed pretty upset earlier and it might be easier to talk it out now. After all, she was the only one who didn't shoot at her.

"Hello again, err, Konoe, right?" She didn't speak much during their last meeting, then again the meeting was a bit strange considering the giant device that charged towards her. Her eyebrows are raised and her smile begins to relax, "So, what brings you to the shrine?"
Konoe Kanno "So you remember my name. I'm honored, *Hakurei*." Konoe put on a fake smile then as well, stopping some distance away from Reimu. The way she put emphasis on Hakurei was a bit unsettling, but nonetheless, she didn't make any untoward moves. ....Ah, but seeing Reimu relaxing and not being the horrible youkai slayer Marisa trumped her up as, caused her to lighten up just a bit.

"But still, she had a purpose for coming here. And it wasn't have tea and cakes." Konoe closed her eyes and took a deep breath. After a second, she opened them and with a flick of her hand, she created a single ofuda between her middle and index finger. On it, the character for 'Challenge' was inscribed by magic. The youkai miko tossed this talisman straight ahead at Reimu, but it didnt seem to be an attack.

If anythhing, Reimu could easily catch it with her skills and read it. "Reimu Hakurei, I challenge you to a duel!"
Reimu Hakurei
She stares at the ofuda for a second, before sighing. She promptly wipes the dust off before taking a mere sidestep to the left of the talisman. It promptly lands directly into the wooden wall of the shrine. As she looks at it from the side, she sighs. Yep, it appears it was going to be another one of those days again. Well, on the bright side, at least their first meeting before this wasn't while she was on the job.

"Okay, if we have to do this, can we take this away from the shrine though? If it gets damaged, then I'll have to get it repaired again." She smiles slightly as she continues, "I didn't really get a chance to practice last time, but since you didn't attack me on our first meeting, I'll tell you this now." The miko promptly begins to float into the air as she scratches the back of her head, "I've forgotten how to play around."
Konoe Kanno Konoe began to ascend into the air from where she was standing as well. The thrown oruda vanishes into magic particles after a couple seconds, as if it were never there. And the youkai miko began to speak. "Fine with me. I don't intend to play around." She kept level with Reimu, rising at the same speed and rate that she was.

"I'm doing this because I want to make sure of something. If you hold back, I'll be really angry." Once they were high enough in the air to not risk blowing up the Hakurei Shrine, Konoe swept her arm outwards, causing four, dull, gray orbs to manifest around her figure and begin revolving. She then produced a handful of ofuda in one hand, and a number of needles in the other.

"Any rules or restrictions I should be aware of?"
Reimu Hakurei      "Well, spell card rules are the point this time. Also." Four red and white orbs also appear around her form and begin to revolve as well. In one hand, she holds her gohei apparently. "I really hope you won't mind where this is going." She smiles politely to Konoe.

....Then, she promptly raises her gohei into the air before swirling it around, bathing herself in a white light. As the white light glows brighter, blue energy appears to gathering towards her at a rapid pace and in an instant, a storm of ofuda are bursting directly from her gohei. The seals appear to be heading away from Reimu at a rather fast pace.
Konoe Kanno "Kh!" Konoe hissed and immediately steeled herself, staying calm as much as possible as she weaved through the oncoming storm of ofuda. She could toss out this many so easily? That was....something to think about later. Weaving left and right, grazing by a few barely, the catmiko eventually cleared the barrage and reared back with her own ofuda.

Characters inscribed themselves onto her own sets of talismans. Words like 'Chase', 'Explosion', 'Amplification', and 'Duplification'. And then she tossed them out at Reimu. What was once merely a handful of about ten ofuda shot outwards at high speed, and then...multiplied. Ten bacame twenty, and then twenty became thirty.

Thirty was the apparent limit of this volley however, and the cloud of seals weaved and twiste through the air, aiming to chase after the Hakurei Miko and strike her. If any struck her, they would explode outwards into a sizable sphere of flame. If they failed to strike her, then they would simply explode on their own, creating a minefield of fiery explosions to restrict movement and trap.
Reimu Hakurei Reimu slowly begins to move back and away from the duplicate ofuda. At first, they seem to be pretty tame, and the Yin Yang Orbs merely begin to fire blue homing amulet shots out toward the youkai miko as she merely attempts to stream bullets away from her in a surprisingly odd manner. Her movements seem to involve her jerking away from the shots aimed at her.

At least, that's how it normally would go, before the shots started exploding behind her, bringing the normally disorienting ringing to her ears. She grits her teeth slightly as the orbs continue to fire their shots towards Konoe, while merely kept her focus on avoiding the sudden explosives. As she moves through sky, each of the ofuda explode one by one, coloring the sky in a sudden rapid stream of large, bright bursts of energy.
Konoe Kanno Konoe grit her teeth as her gambit failed. Well, that's Reimu for you. She was living up to the stories so far. Now if only...she would stop shooting for a second! Constantly stuck weaving around and dodging, and still getting shot occasionally, the youkai miko tried to decide what she was going to do next about her opponent.

She had an idea. Once she found a moment to prepare, Konoe reared back with her held needles, and all five burst into flame. "Hah!" Then she tossed them straight at Reimu. But that wasn't the end. In the moment she did throw them, she...

     ...Vanished?

The Bakeneko was simply gone from sight. Where did she go?

Suddenly, the surroundings darkened subtly. A spellcard was activated! Up above! Konoe reappeared right above Reimu by some distance and was quickly descending through the sky, aiming a vicious kick right at the Hakurei Miko while wreathed in an raging aura of fire!

"Divine Arts - Earth God Kick!"
Reimu Hakurei
She takes a moment to catch her breath, as another barrage of flaming needles come flying at her. As she swerves to the left of the burning needles, she looks forward as she finally notices that her current target was missing. As her hearing returned to normal, she managed to take a look up, only for her eyes to widen in surprise in seeing Bakeneko aiming a flaming kick directly at her. She grits her teeth as she quickly swerves to the left of the oncoming attacking. The heat of the flames barely missing her body, but as the heat dissipates, the smile on her face has changed.

"Okay, time for me to stop screwing around."

"Dream Sign: "Super Duplex Barrier."

At that point, Reimu creates two large cube barriers with a wave of her gohei. As both of them surround her form, a red and white light begins to be emitted from torso. From there, a burst of gohei are sent directly toward the walls of the barrier...

Only for them to vanish as they touch the walls of the barrier. From there, they come out of the inner walls, practically blanketing the inner bounding of the cube, but they still disappear upon hitting on the barrier again. The second cube's outer walls begin to shimmer, and then suddenly a torrential onslaught of ofuda come out of the barrier.
Konoe Kanno Konoe failed to land a direct strike. Somewhat expected, even with the distraction attempt. All those attacks and she hasn't managed to land anything yet. Reimu truly was good. ...It was frustrating. Gritting her teeth after sailing past her opponent, the youkai miko vanished from sight again, and then 'blipped' back into existence right before Reimu once again. It was a technique she herself could be plenty familiar with.

And then Reimu activated her spellcard. SUPER Duplex Barrier? ...Konoe knew Duplex Barrier. But SUPER? ....Just seeing it start up, Konoe could feel panic rising in her throat. Crap, crap, crap. None of her stronger spellcards were ready... Well, except for one.

Steeling herself, she produced a single ofuda, swinging her arm outwards swiftly.

"Spirit Sign - Illusionary Sealing Border!"

Immediately, space began to warp around Konoe in a sphere. And within that space, she clapped her hands together and narrowed her eyes in focus. After a second, the orbs around her changed. They became red and white ying yang orbs, and rapidly spun in a blur around her. And then they began to spew out floods and floods of flaming ofuda.

But it didn't end there. Space also warped around Reimu in a wider area, and within the space, the ofuda that Konoe was firing outwards left the edge of her barrier, and then began to stream inwards from the barrier Reimu was within, coming from all sides.

They were both both in a barrier of flooding ofuda. ...Who would fail first? Konoe immediately began to veer left and right, unable to move very fast as she had to focus on her spellcard. And so, the clock was ticking. She winced as one seal grazed past her arm, holy energy searing it. And then another past her face. And then her legs. But she tried to keep slowly dodging and innundating Reimu with her own barrage.
Reimu Hakurei
Reimu watches as the flaming ofuda began to stream toward her. Well, at this point, they're literally in a trap of their own making. However, as the heat seriously began to threatened to inundate her. She took a deep breath. This feeling of immiment doom all around here, the extremely close range of movement that she was confined to. Rather than fearing the imminent burns, she embraces them.

As the fiery seals keep moving toward her, their surrounding heat is making it feel like the trip to the underground all over again. Her memories of the intensely hot battle practically move through her mind and from there, she still manages to keep hanging on, only moving slightly when she absolutely needs to, lest she risk being burned further than she already is. The yin yang orbs are still around though and they begin to fire a barrage of homing blue shots into the barrier as well.
Konoe Kanno Konoe was doing much worse than Reimu was. She did her best to keep calm and steady, only dodging when necessary, but the burn of spiritual energy was just so distracting and painful. She could feel herself losing her grip on her spellcard ever so surely. She grit her teeth in frustration, glaring across the sky at Reimu who seemed to be...having slight difficulty, but managing like a veteran.

And then came those homing shots. ...Crap. They were fast. Too fast to dodge. Each of them strikes her, and the Youkai Miko lets out a pained cry as reality shatters, returning things to normal. Konoe sailed through the air, veering down, down, down....

     NO!

Her eyes suddenly opened, and with pure determination running through her veins, she activated one last ditch spellcard. She stopped her fall and though she looked worse for the wear, she glared up at Reimu, as if she were a god to be toppled. "Not yet!" Konoe clapped her hands together, causing those four dull orbs to return. Her hair and tails turned from brown to snow white, and the four orbs lit up brightly. They began to spin rapidly around her figure in a blur, and then she called out.

"Karma - Great Fire of Meireki!"

Those four orbs broke off and then flew towards Reimu, appearing under her at four points in a wide area square. Suddenly, a border formed, connecting the four orbs, then a massive pillar of flame burst upwards at high speed. The tip of it was in the shape of a dragon's head, and it opened it's jaws wide, attempting to engulf Reimu in it's might!

To top it off, four smaller pillars of flame burst upwards from the orbs, forming into smaller serpents that coiled around the pillar before crashing into it at multiple points, causing the entire spell to explode violently and brilliantly in the sky.
Reimu Hakurei As the heat begins to dissipate, she smiles with relief as she begins to fall towards the ground. As the youkai begins to fall, Reimu does something rather strange, she actually pursues her instead of attempting to shoot her down. However, in her rush, she doesn't notice until Konoe's hair starts to change color and she stops in midair, awaiting her next move and she isn't shooting at her.

As the sudden border of flame forms around her, it doesn't take her long to realize exactly what's going on as soon as the serpents start entering the circle. She has another trump card to play, but this is normally never done and it'll take a bit of time.

     "Fantasy Heaven."

She stays in place for a moment as the four yin-yang orbs change in color from a red white, to a glowing blue white before promptly being surrounded by those four orbs. Immediately, three other orbs begin to surround her form as well. Just as the flames threaten to engulf her, the white light flows out from her body and protects her harm. From there, all each of the seven orbs promptly begin to fire off myriads of clumped ofuda shots, all of them being homing shots that practically blanket the sky in holy powered seals.
Konoe Kanno      Fantasy Heaven

Konoe wasn't familiar with that one, even despite who she was.

Her eyes widened as seals flooded the sky in pretty much every direction.

     Damn it.

     Everything went black after that.

Though she would not be aware of it, she fell out of the sky and crash landed on the grounds of the Hakurei Shrine.

     She didn't get back up.
Reimu Hakurei
...Or at least crashing would have been what happened, except Konoe did something that almost no one has ever really done in the entirety of Reimu's life. She actually didn't attack her on their first greeting. So, as the miko watched her fall to the ground below, she felt that it was time to pay her back in return. The orbs dematerialize and she grits her teeth. Then, in a surprising burst of speed, she swoops down closer to the Bakeneko as the distance between the two gets closer and closer to being crossed. Then, right as Konoe is feet from the ground, Reimu manages to swoop down and grab her limp form from below. Unfortunately, the weight is a bit more than she is used to carrying and Reimu begins to descend a bit as well.

"I better find Alice and explain what happened. She was able to send shots into my own barrier and she used variations of my own attacks." She sighs for a moment and continues as she flies towards the Forest of Magic.
