Taro     This part of Urbania is far from the minds and care of those better off, and far from anyone both capable and willing to enforce the usual statutes and by-laws. It's still crowded and noisy, but the types of crowds and the types of noise are different. There's less humming and thrumming, far more chugging and squeaking. The sounds (and sometimes smells) of aging equipment still being held together for want of ever being replaced by that which their richer neighbors can afford.
The usual din of this corner of the city is puctuated by the sounds of screeching tires, followed quickly by the sounds of honking horns, and the crash of what sounds like a fender bender...then, more squealing and revved up engines. Lots of them. A pack of cars all running, the drivers cranking their horns like mad and not giving a damn that they're running red lights or breaking speed limits.
Behind that? A Thump thump THUMP thump THUMP *crack* THUMP of something chasing after a beat-up pickup truck at the back of the pack, the people in the back clinging on madly as it just barely makes the turn down the street.
Ferham      While some confederates couldn't be bothered to handle a police action, Ferham comes right away. She swoops down from on high, carrying Alden safetly down with her. She had carried him there since he seemed to want to come along, so she's hooked her arms under his and hoisted him aloft that way. Once the digimon was deposited on the ground, her wings swung behind her to fold compactly, or as compactly as they could, anyway. She was a big girl in some ways, don't judge her.

"Looks like someone had some trouble while there was gridlocked traffic--or did they get stuck trying to get away from something?" Ferham narrowed her gaze a bit as she peered toward the sound of the large /thing/ tromping around. "Over there!" Ferham runs towards the pickup winding the corner just barely.
Alden      Why was Alden with Ferham?, reasons!, mostly visiting the town again and wanting to talk with her again!. He seems to enjoy the ride, he seldomly gets to fly!. He seems both excited, and nervous about the source of the bad noises, and the clear panic. He tries his best to keep up with the running, but he is short!, at least for now, so he arrives a bit later.
Kari Wolf     The shinki sisters are riding along in Zarenna's hovercar when Kari spots the monster below.
"Wow! It's an actual stompy monster!" She says excitedly.
"... What?" Zarenna says, somewhat incredulously. As weird as some of the things Kari says are, Zarenna has lived in the multiverse long enough to realize that her little robot may not actually be making things up.
Harriet peers out the same window as Kari. "There's something down there, Master."
"We should help people avoid it, Master!" Kari says. Zarenna sighs. Maybe they can take the inevitable corpse back to Confederate R&D to study. The little blue hover car wheels around to bring the two shinki to the scene of the disturbance.
Taro     Thump Thump THUD THUD THUD *THUD* *THUD* *THUD*
There's a sharp crackle of glass shattering, followed by a crash of bricks meeting street as whatever everyone was running from does not make the turn gracefully.
Long spindly spidery legs thud against the pavement, supporting a squat crablike body the size of a large sedan. It's this horrid shade of mustard yellow accented with bright purple stripes that look like they might be some kind of tape. The squat, heavy claws that serve as its forelimbs add to its crablike appearance - and in one of them it clutches the limp form of a woman in a jumpsuit, slumped forward, pink hair flopped over her head and face.
It makes a weird buzzing hissing noise as it turns fully into the street at the corner, heading toward Ferham, Alden, and Zarenna and company.
The driver of the pickup truck screams inarticulately as he just misses Zarenna as her car seems to him to appear from nowhere. The brakes screech as he brings the truck to a stop, jolting the passengers still holding on back in the bed. Thump-thump.
Ferham      "Looks like it's... got someone," Ferham's heeled boots skidded to a halt as she came upon the rather large sight of the sedan-sized crab, her green eyes widening. Ferham's wings slide out again from her back and she takes flight, hovering around the side of the large... thing? As she intends to check it out before opening fire.

"Err, hello? is it giant crab mating season already?" Ferham sort of nosily hovers closer off to the thing's side, as she points a black polymer-gloved hand at the pink-haired woman the thing apparently was running off with. Just then of course, she was distracted by the sound of screeching tires.

"Hey, watch where you're driving!" Ferham turns as she floats in the air, looking like she's in Zero-G--her wings don't flap, of course, she just kind of... floats.
Alden      Alden was right behind Ferham, when the giant mechanical crab appears! His first reaction is to rush back, about to attack, but stopping when he sees the 'hostage'. He growls softly, "Now what do we do?" he asks outloud, looking up at Ferham, and the almost accident in mid air. He begins to move around as well, trying to figure out a spot to hit the thing.
Kari Wolf     Zarenna's car, fortunately, flies. It stops in such a way that it blocks the shot from the pickup and the two shinki hop out of the window, then zooms away to a safer distance.
They're wearing their armor of course, the heavy duty Dire Wolf armor for Kari and the standard rapid-assault armor for the larger Harriet. They land on the camera and the cameraman, respectively.
"Wow! It's really ugly." Kari says, putting a claw to ther face as she peers at the crab-mech curiously. "Time for Crab Legs!" She says as the ports on her shoulders open to launch the micro-grenades at the run-away robo's legs.
Harriet slips off the cameraman's shoulder, and climbs back up enough to peer over the man's shoulder. "Shouldn't you be helping people get away safely?" She asks, her shoulder-mounted laser tracking the monstrous prop's motions and taking pot-shots at the thing's 'eyes' (or something that looks like eyes one supposes).
Kari waves to Ferham and Alden. "Hey guys!" She may not have noticed the hostage. Nor Harriet for that matter. It's a terribly confusing situation what with all the people and screaming everywhere.
Taro     As Ferham approaches, the spider-crablike machine draws itself up higher on its legs, and there's a *pop* of breaking tape and paint as a small turret pops out from the center of its upper carapice. But it does not fire.
There's a low-band transmission, faint and staticky, but still strong enough for those around it to pick it up by radio: Err...426: Ins..p.wer
The woman in the monster machine's grasp continues to hang limply, completely unresponsive to Ferham and her question. Her head and arms sway without resistance as her captor jerks its claws, and her hair begins to slip right off her head...no, it's a wig that's peeling away from a plastic head. A mannequin?
As Ferham turns away, the machine lashes out with its other claw to try to bat her away. Then, it continues forward, trying but not quite able to escape from the micro-grenades thrown at its legs, and threatening to trample Alden under its eight legs if the digimon isn't careful.
"Wh-wha?" the cameraman stammers at Harriet's question. He has that near-paniced look himself, and blinks as he realizes he's been holding onto his videocamera this whole time.
The pot-shot the taller shinki takes doesn't quite hit the mark, scoring the ridge just above what counts for its eyes instead.
Ferham      "Hold on, don't shoot--it's not a--" Ferham's voice might have been lost over the noise of the grenades and the creature' rearing back like that, but she seemed to be trying to motion for folks to stand down, which is apparently not gonna happen. Ferham is batted out of it's way, and thus out of the blast radius of those grenades at that--she's not harmed--she does have to re-align herself in the air, though.

"Error...? Insufficient power?" Fer blinked as she turned to follow and hover along the crab-bot, trying to get the shinki girls to stop shooting.

"It's not a real woman, it's a fake woman--I mean, it's a clothes store prop... thing!" Ferham seemed to be trying to explain in a hurry, turning back to the crab-bot to try and send a message of her own over short-wave radio.

     <State nature of error, diagnostic?>
Kari Wolf     Kari and Harriet stop shooting since Ferham has indicated that it was a fake person in the claw. Kari shouts "Sorry!" at the crab thing.
Harriet in the mean time, asks some pointed questions of the film crew. "Since it was chasing you, where did it come from?" The rapid laser weapon does track the crab still, the augmented shinki keeping watch to make sure it doesn't try to pull something.
Taro     The crab-spider-machine's legs have held up fairly well to Kari's microgrenades and Harriet's blasts, and the reason for that glints through the shredded paint and tape: armor plating in a more standard (if battered) military dull gray.Just because they've stopped shooting, though, doesn't mean that it follows suit. Though the turret on its back apparently can't fire, it can still lash out with claws and legs. And it proceeds to do just that, tilting its body downward to try and smack Kari with its mannequin-encumbered hand, and sending the wig flying.
It pauses for a second at Ferham's attempts to communicate over radio, then reacts with a burst of static and snapping turn towards her. <Hac...d.tec.d> She has its full attention now, and it lifts one of its foremost true-legs to try and kick her out of the sky.
Meanwhile..."W-ware-house," the cameraman stammers again, then turns his head to look at Harriet...and he screams, flails, and almost falls out of the truck's bed. "Whatareyougetawayfromme!"
Ferham      "Poor thing, it was dressed up to do some kind of sick human recording," Ferham hmphs and looks as if she doesn't like this one bit, before she gives an almost squacking "ACK!" as the crab-bot boots her somewhere in the side and rear and sends her careening into the side of a building.

"Ow..." she pushes herself away from it and looks up back to the crab-bot.

"What? no!" she widens her eyes and tries to fire back a message to the crab-machine.

<No hacking attempt is being made, please stand down or more damage will result!> Yeah, machines communicate rather... stiltedly, to be frank.
Kari Wolf     Kari goes flying from her perch on the tailgate of the truck, sending her into a large blue mail bin with a loud series of clangs and thumps. After a moment, the mailbox's hinged door opens to reveal Kari's gold eyes peering out, and the barrels of her twin shoulder-mounted lasers. Clearly the thing is dangerous! "That wasn't very nice!" The hissing fire of the lasers sizzles through the space between Kari and the crab bot, shimmering trails of heat betraying their path.
Harriet is thrown from the cameraman's shoulder, catching her by surprise and knocking her to bed of the vehicle. She bounces back up quickly, kicking off the sheet metal, and the crew's leg to gain some altitude. She feels a little vindictive since this whole thing is dumb. Since this director is so keen on putting his crew in danger for some footage, she would take that footage away from them. Harriet opens fire on the film crew's camera, a barrage of laser fire strafing along the length of the device. Maybe /now/ they will simply run.
Taro     First, the giant robot monster rampaging and chasing them through the streets, and now a doll-sized robot shooting at them with lasers? Yeah, they've had enough. With yelps and screams, they quit the truck and scatter. Though one - the director, probably - makes a grab for the smoudering camera on his way out.
The machine is not having any of Ferham's explanation, and after another burst of static, it goes radio silent. She has the brunt of its attention now, and it charges at her, both claws poised to try and batter her if it can ger close enough to do so.
This leaves it completely open to Kari's retalitory strikes, and a plume of smoke puffs out of the still open turret port as the Shinki gets a good solid hit there with her strafing.
Ferham      With communication apparently failed, Ferham has no choice but to try and retaliate--and to defend herself from the giant crab-bot. As it charges her, she turns to point her tough shoulder-pauldron at the crab-bot's body and gives herself a bit of a push with her gravity flight engine--sailing towards him for a bit of a flying tackle!

"Since you won't listen, maybe this will," she huffs under her breath, wanting to perhaps stun or incapacitate the crab-bot rather than outright destroy it.
Kari Wolf     Kari jumps out of the mail box, rattling it. She's launched across the space between and tries to land on the crab bot. If that's successful, she's going to climb around it and look for a really obvious access panel so she can get /inside/ it and try to cut some kind of power thing.
Harriet jumps around the street trying to draw the crab's attention from Ferham and Kari, aiming her laser bursts are the thicker parts of the armor. <<Trying to distract the target.>> she radios to Ferham and Kari alike.
