Lina Brand     It's afternoon at the Kawakami Dojo, another person decided to challenge the archer. Lina's back with a new quiver, black and fancy looking with a bow equally fancy in her hand. "Wonder who's the unlucky fool this time." she mutters, looking around curiously, tapping her foot as she waits, pressing a few buttons on the back of her quiver to prepare a few arrows to send to her opponent. "Didn't quite get their name..."

Lina shrugs slightly and paces a bit in the dojo's open field, they didn't seem to mind her earthquakes...
Yang Xiao Long     Yang's approach is heralded by the deep rumbling growl of a 250cc motobike engine... or at least, the Remnant equivalent to that kind of engine. Bumblebee comes up towards the Dojo from the direction of the Warpgate, and with a kick of the stand, the blonde brawler dismounts, setting her helmet and riding goggles in the under-seat storage.

She runs her fingers through her hair, then wanders on over toward the Archer. "Western Deva. Your challenger has arrived." she calls, lifting her right hand in a greeting, as she offers a big old grin to the archer.
Sagat Since he's still in Kawakami City, upon hearing that there was a match to be fought, Sagat saw no reason not to observe.

The fact that he doesn't actually know either of the girls preparing to do battle does nothing to reduce his interest. You're bound NOT to know your opponents somewhere along the line, and seeing more of different worlds' fighters can only help him adapt to the myriad and miscellaneous oddities that the Multiverse is capable of throwing at you.

So he's standing by the bleachers (or may have taken a seat by now), arms folded loosely across his bare, scarred chest, and watching casually as Yang comes up to address Lina.
Lina Brand     The engine sound perks up the Ranger Mage, a smirk coming into her face. "Well, aren't you just a fancy person with your bike." she twists her head just slightly, a loud pop could be heard from her neck as the Ranger starts stretching a bit. "Well, I guess we should get started here? I, Lina Brand the Western Deva, accept your challenge blondie." The quiver behind her starts spinning around before launching an arrow upwards, glowing red. "Well, shall we begin?"

Lina starts approaching, the crunch of the dirt underneath her is loud and soon, a spurt of wind and leaves surround the archer, and suddenly... she's gone. "Shall we dance, blondie?" she grins in her invisible state, slowly circling the brawler with arrow nocked and drawn. Moving behind, the Ranger's vanish effect wears off and the arrow is launched, a streak of flame coats the arrow as it sails towards the brawler, time to keep range! Depending on where the arrow hits, a gout of flame will burst up from it on or in the direction of Yang!
Yang Xiao Long     Yang shrugs a little. "She's my baby. Besides, much faster than walking, and I don't own a horse." she replies, then shifts her stance, deploying her gauntlets. "I am Yang Xiao Long, Huntress in training." she responds, "Lets rock and roll."

And then the archer vanishes. "Wh--- GYAH!" She's hit from behind, and engulfed in flame! She staggers forwards, her Aura flaring angrily against the arrow, pushing it away finally. Her eyes flicker red for a moment, and with a sudden burst of speed...

Yang fires her gauntlets behind her as she turns, and launches herself quickly toward the archer. The direction of her fire sends her in an arc-like trajectory, which brings her down in front of Lina, slamming her right gauntlet down into the ground with a resonant whumping blast which makes the ground churn up in an expanding ring around her!
Lina Brand     "We might have to go for a ride after this, wonder how fast it goes." she grins, though when her arrow hits and she sees that aura, and the flickering red eyes, Lina knows she's onto something. "Seems you don't like flame... perhaps I should cool you down some." the burst of speed catches the archer off guard, kicking off the ground only to get slammed by that ring of rock that bursts up from the ground. "Brawler, Mage..." she thinks, shaking her head as another arrow pops up from her quiver and lands in her hand, glowing blue this time.

"Well, well well... You're quicker than you look, Yang. But training? Just in training? Pssh..." a second arrow pops up out of the quiver, glowing brown and blue as she reslots the blue arrow back into it. With a small chant, a red aura surrounds the archer and off she goes like a rocket... "Haste." she whispers out before running past the brawler, skidding to a stop and letting the arrow loose!

This one is aimed towards Yang but intentionally falls short, crashing into the ground to create a minor earthquake with ice spires shooting up from the ground! "Let's slow you down!"
Sanary Rondel      Sanary's a little late to the festivities, but she makes sure not to disturb things too much by keeping her footsteps quiet. She didn't even bring gear aside from a staff today! Not that she doesn't trust the monks here, but... Well, she'd feel better tending to Lina's post-fight wounds herself. A quick waiver signature later, and she shuffles off to the bleachers to watch Lina and Yang go at it. Sagat gets a raised eyebrow, though, with a look that almost says 'hey, don't I know you?'
Yang Xiao Long     Yang chuckles a bit at the banter. "Sure, I'll take ya for a spin." she replies, then straightens. Her eyes flicker back from red to lilac briefly, and she turns to follow the Haste enhanced motion, crossing her arms in front of her to try and tank the coming arrow... Only to be knocked off her feet and into the air by the sudden reversal of her own technique!

She lands hard, shoving up with a hand as she bounces and regains her feet, skidding to a stop before she once again fires her gaunlets to launch herself forward.

This time, however, she doesn't go for another ground slam. As she flies forwards, she fires her gauntlets to try and pin the archer down, explosive bolts flying around the Ranger/Mage's position, kicking up dust and dirt and smoke. This is to cover the true attack, though.

Another gunshot sounds from the obscuring smoke bank, and a flicker of golden light is the only warning, as Yang comes surging out of the dust like a human javelin, right arm stretched forwards in a direct body-shot lunching strike!
Lina Brand     Well, at least she has something to look forward to after this fight, a ride on a motorbike with her assailant. Odd. She ejects another arrow, the blue arrow from before as she tries to line up another quick shot. "You're wasting ammunition with those shots!" though with the shots running to the left and right of her, she uses the quick motion of her Haste enhanced movement speed to dodge them, "Really?"

Then comes the blonde javelin... and the shot connects, sending the archer flying from the strong hit, crashing into the ground and tumbling a good ten feet. "Nngh, ow. That... that was unexpected." she eyes the arrow... no, that's not going to do. Time for something else. It's at this point, a rip in space starts forming in the sky, small at first but slowly growing bigger, it'll take a bit for this spell to finish.

Meanwhile, she gets back to her feet and backs away some more only to let that arrow fly once more, might as well use the charged arrow! The thwip of bow string is heard and the arrow streaks across the field, and wherever it lands, it'll create ice spears that will shoot up towards Yang, or if it actually hits her, try to freeze her to the core.
Sagat The Emperor of Muay Thai returns Sanary's look briefly, then inclines his head just a little to her (since he does remember meeting her in passing ... he thinks, anyway) before turning his attention back to the match. By his standards, this is unorthodox in the extreme - *archery* in what would normally be considered a martial-arts match?

... not that archery isn't technically a 'martial art' in the most literal sense of the phrase, but still. The fact that Yang isn't starting to resemble a pincushion is a testament to her Aura, or would be if Sagat knew what that was yet - and it doesn't mean the elemental spells on said arrows don't do anything. The gradually-developnig rift over the arena prompts a narrowing of Sagat's visible ee ...

Then he casually just makes sure that he's got a couple of good anchor points around his seat, in case he suddenly seems to need them. There might not be much time to look for them if (or when) he *does* need them.
Yang Xiao Long     Yang crosses her arms to take the arrow. Ice starts to form across her gauntlets and up her arms, her Aura glowing angrily as it tries to fight off the foreign magic. With a shift of her stance, the blonde brawler shatters the ice and sends the arrow spinning off to the side to thunk into the ground. "Don't worry." she says, manually cycling both gauntlets, then purging the spent shells. She reloads with a quick flick of her hands behind her, tossing a new pair of chain-linked shells into the air, which she smacks her gauntlets into. The shells cycle into place, and the slides move back into ready position, while the empty casings clatter to the ground. "Those are some pretty fancy arrows. You'd probably fit right in at Beacon." she comments, then spreads her stance and clenches her fists, taking a boxers stance, and bouncing on the balls of her feet. "You learn too think outside the box when you're fighting for your life against horror monsters from the beginning of time." she quips, then with a literal explosion around her, she surges forward again, jinking left and right to evade any quick shots at her as she approaches.

Once in range, she starts up a heavy strike combination attack, hooking left and right in sequence with each punch augmented by a burst of explosive kinetic energy, heralded by a shotgun blast. She ends the sequence with a crouch, and a move that might get Sagat on edge. Her right fist bursts into flame, and she springs skyward, twirling in an uppercut to Lina's midsection, aiming to send her flying.
Lina Brand     "Heh, and those are neat gauntlets, I bet I could use something like that!" she replies back, "Beacon? What's that? Your school I take it?" a pause, "SO many school peoples want to fight me, I don't know why!" it might be beacuse of your title, Lina. "Anyways, I know that feeling back on the Land of Steel... why do you think I have these rune arrows?" The explosion sound rings true and she follows the now surging brawler, trying to find the best arrow to shoot.

Though, when the rapid fire punches crash right into her body, coupled with the shotgun blasts per hit, she stumbles back and once the Not!Shoryuken smashes right into her, she's launched up into the air with her outfit aflame. "nngh.." she coughs a bit, panting some as she tries to regain her breath from the series of explosive punches... "Re... regen..." she mutters out, at least staving off some more internal damage from that by knitting some of her wounds, not enough to make a real difference.

In air, however, she pulls out an arrow from the quiver, glowing grey and yellow, a very special arrow she loves using... Taking aim before she lands, she lets the arrow loose, stopping just before it gets to Yang, a miniature gravity well bursts open while spitting out bolts of lightning in every direction, the gravity well making sure to try and capture the brawler to try and crush her in it as well and zapping her.
Yang Xiao Long     Yang again braces for impact. Those trick arrows are starting to get annoying, and /this/ one is the worst so far. The gravity makes her muscles strain to keep her place, while the lightening licks across her Aura, depleting it further with each connection... but this is working exactly as she wants it to. Her Semblance is charging up nicely... just got to weather it out a bit longer.

Yang punches forward, firing short-range shells to clear herself from the Gravity spell's range, then jinks to the side, bolting away and around, aiming to come in from the side, once again trying the beat rush combo!
Lina Brand     "What's the matter, Yang? Cat got your tongue?" she laughs a bit as she lands on the ground, eyes looking up to the Comet spell growing, it's almost time. She smiles brightly and walks over towards Yang, the spell dissipating once she gets out of range. "Come on." she taunts, what is she, a warrior?! The red glow surrounding the ARcher dissapears, the haste spell endign but that's okay, she doesn't have to overcorrect for this.

The punches roll in and she ducks and weaves with them, letting them graze along her body, punching into chainmail under the shirt and, while it hurts, doesn't seem to be doing any appreciable damage. Coughing to get a bit of air from that last hit, she backs away and holds her bow like a magic staff...

With a rapid fire chant, both ends of the bow start glowing red and with a loud yell, massive blasts of fire are thrown off the bow in the Brawler's general direction, hoping to allow this enough time for Comet to finish!
Yang Xiao Long     Yang for what seems like the thousandth time, crosses her arms to withstand the coming attack. Her feet plant into the ground and she leans into the twin fire balls, as they strike and wash over her. She's completely engulfed in flame, seeming to turn into a human pyre!

Then she explodes, flinging embers and wisps of flame in all directions, riding a rippling wave of kinetic force. The blonde's hair is now glowing brilliant gold, and her eyes. Her eyes have turned a deadly shade of red, giving the grin she sports a sadistic tint. "You made a mistake earlier... I don't dislike fire." she slams her fists together, causing another explosion of force, and billowing her hair out. "Y'know why?" She charges forwards again, blurring out of sight for a moment to reappear beside the Archer, her right fist coming right in, aimed at the Archer's jaw. "It's because. I Burn."

    BLAM.
Lina Brand     Lina blinks a bit, she just lit someone on fire... and they're not screaming and flailing about. What the hell was wrong with this girl? Oh, wait, that's what... The kinetic force dissipating the magical flames and the golden hair... "...What in the name of Phoenix?!" she shouts as she goes Not!SuperSayan. "You aren't human, are you?" she bvacks away a bit, that sadistic tinted grin making her a bit unsettled. When she blurs out of sight and comes back in with that right fist, she can't react in time and takes it fully to the jaw, sending her flying back into the ground, skidding and tumbling!

Coming to a stop a good ways away... the Archer wobbles as she picks herself up, rubbing her jaw, setting it somewhat back in place... she's going to have to find a White Mage after this... "Nnngh.. ow... hurts... to talk.." she groans out, looking up before falling to her knees. Holding the bow tighter in one hand, the tip starts glowing a dark brown and blue and her right hand is vertical, waving back and forth, a high concentration method to spellcasting.

She looks back to the sky, a smile and then the rip opens wide, showing bright stars in the obvious daylight, "Blizzara Comet!" she shouts, letting the bow go and the spell fire... a single rock shoots out from the rip... then another... and then it starts RAINING space rocks down onto Yang! Each rock shatters into ice spikes on hitting the ground , aimed towards Yang primarily!
Yang Xiao Long     Yang isn't going to go dodging an attack /now/, after tanking every single strike leveled at her. She plants her feet, and aims up at the coming rocks, firing explosive bolts into the swarm. Each explosion is like a bundle of TNT exploding, vaporizing the rocks she hits, but... she can't fire fast enough. Ice spikes rain down on her, slicing through her weakening Aura and leaving cuts and scrapes, which seal up quickly... at the cost of even /more/ energy. She won't be able to take much more, the protective field around her body guttering a bit, the once proud and angry orange-yellow energy now looking washed out and fade as it shrugs off the last few spikes. She's even panting a bit. "I'm as human as any other Huntsman and Huntress back home." she explains, blasting the gathered fragments away from her with another outrush of force, sending diamond dust scattering into the air in all directions. "This is my Semblance. Absorption. Every single attack you throw at me." she explains, approaching like an implacable goddess of destruction. Each step causing a crater to form under the foot. "Makes." stomp. "Me." stomp. "Stronger." stomp. "I'm guessing you're nearly out of tricks, not that it's stopped anyone before... what do you say we finish this." she says next, then blurrs out of sight again, reappearing in mid-air, and plummeting down with her right fist burning with golden flames. She hangs for a moment or two, as if 'charging' up, before she suddenly slams down into the ground, cratering out about ten meters, and causing the earth to erupt with spikes of stone.
Lina Brand     Lina's panting hard, she's just about out of MP and she forgot to bring ethers with her, that dunce. Oh well, she has a few more things in store just in case. She watches the rocks fall without anyone dying, with some getting blown up by those explosive bolts, the distraction allowing her to take a good breather... "Cure..." she whispers, sealing up some wounds and restoring her energy... just a bit. This breather is what she needed, though, and she gets herself back up backing away. Something silver glints on her side as she tries to pull out another arrow... and it jams. "Damnit."

"Absorption... huh?" she laughs, "This... this has been a wonderful match there, Yang, worthy of what you were going for." she puts up the bow and pulls out her dagger, "But I'm not out of tricks yet!" the stomping and crater forming makes the archer falter in her face, looking scared.. She's pissed off this woman a lot and if what she said was true... she was about to get hit with the worst punch she's had in her life..

When she blurs again, Lina taking a mental note to figure out how the hell she did that, and reappears in the air, she gives a brief nod and kicks off the ground, launching herself up into the air with the force of the punch, rolling with it to allow it to at least graze her leg when the quake rises up. "This is it!" she shouts, landing behind the brawler in the crater, the blade coated in what looks to be a dark substance and she kicks off the ground towards the bralwer. If it hits, it's possible that the blackened dagger will temporarily blind Yang, something she should have done in the first place!
Yang Xiao Long     The problem with being a brawler with an ability that absorbs damage done to you, is that your mentality is to take as many hits as possible to take advantage of it.

As Lina jumps clear of her last strike, Yang closes her eyes and smiles. "Yeah..."

The blind blade finds flesh, making the blonde cry out in pain as her world goes dark, she slumps down to a knee, panting heavily as she hits the voiceback option on her left gauntlet. A prim voice recites her current aura level, and the girl nods. "I yield. You do deserve your title. Western Deva." she remarks, unseeing eyes staring off into nothingness. "I'll come back stronger though, you can count on it."
