Kazuko Kawakami      After an eventful week of puking on everything and learning a little bit more about not trusting everyone offering her free food, it's time for Kazuko's second title defense! Like last time, there's a small audience already gathered inside the dojo, and multiple tables are set out with various types of food and drink prepared. Monks are wandering about handing out injury waivers to the audience members.

Kazuko is already inside the ring, a large dirt field perfect for fighting without having to worry (too much) about collateral damage. She's doing quick practice swings with her blunted naginata, full of energy and waiting anxiously for her challenger's arrival!
Lina Brand     If there's one thing that Lina didn't want to do was come back to this place, but she challenged the Dog and this was the place she picked. "Well, at least they can deal with earthquakes, falling space rocks and the like." she mutters to herself, the Ranger-dressed Arch(er) Mage strolls into the field, Lina's quiver looks overflowing with arrows this time along with a bandolier of bottles filled with a greenish liquid. "Not going to be caught empty like last time."

Twisting her neck gently, the loud pops could almost echo... almost. "Alright.." Lina smirks a bit, taking a look at the Naginata user. Okay, melee, a bit of range, might be able to get in to use Wing Edge... but... "Hey, Dog. Are you allergic to the elements?" she questions, "If not, then I don't have an issue with this then." stretching a bit, she pulls an arrow from the strained quiver and preps it, the shaft starting to glow blue.

"I'll make sure... not to hurt you too bad, kay?"
Kazuko Kawakami      A few thrusts, some more swings, and... Kazuko perks up a bit when she hears a slightly familiar voice coming closer, and she grins upon spotting Lina. "Aha! Hi, Lina. Allergies? Um... I get them like anyone else, I guess. But it's not warm enough for that yet, is it?"

Right over her head. Thankfully, Lina's demonstration of the glowing arrow shaft makes it a little clearer for those in attendance. For Kazuko, though, she... "Whoa, cool! So your color's blue, then..."

It's still going over her head.

"Eheh. Don't worry. You'll have to catch me first!" Resting the bottom of her naginata on the ground, Kazuko offers Lina a practiced bow before gripping the weapon firmly in both hands. "I, the Eastern Deva, Kazuko Kawakami, accept your challenge!"
Alexis Maaka     For a cyborg who wears combat boots and a coat lined with graphene like body armor, Alexis Maaka is awfully good at stepping light and carefully. She arrives with appropriate amounts of wind to cause her coat to trail behind her like a cape, preferring to stand instead of sit on the bleachers like the aloof badass she presents herself as.

Badasses who wear capes/coats/cloaks/swooshy things do not sit on bleachers. It's a scientific fact in badassology, you see.

More seriously, she's here to support a teammate in KIRIN, and makes certain to not disrupt the proceedings, treating this match with the reverence it deserves. Martial arts zenshin stuff kind of demands a quiet, polite audience anyways.
Lina Brand     Lina blinks at this bow... and the response to allergies. "Well... she must not be that smart..." she shakes her head a bit and readies her bow, notching the arrow into the string, the fancy wing-like bow with runes on them is at the ready and she starts to take aim. There wasn't time to Vanish like before, not before she could study her opponent.

"I'm a rainbow of colors, puppy, now..." wait, did she just say to catch her. Oh she's going to have fun with this prey. "YOu're talking to the best huntress in all of Galianda! I will catch you, my prey, and we shall dance on the arrows head!" she'll let the puppy take the first move, all the better to sling arrows at her with.
Kazuko Kawakami      Instead of being intimidated, Kazuko's looking more and more excited. "Rainbows? Wha... Then your arrows can become lasers or something?!" Her reaction isn't unlike that of a kid getting to pick out whatever they want in a candy store. "Cool... Don't let me down, then!" Did Lina just get a new fan with that?

Giving the naginata a quick twirl, Kazuko takes a deep breath to center herself before going for the first attack. "We'll dance, then~ Here I come!" Dashing towards Lina rapidly, the martial artist keeps her weapon pointed low to the ground in her approach before letting out a brief shout and flicking it upwards in a quick thrust straight at Lina. Although it's not a very flashy or wide-ranging maneuver, it's one of the faster attacks in Kazuko's arsenal. She needs to gauge her opponent's reflexes somehow, after all!
Lina Brand     "You're... not too bright, are you?" though, laser arrows might sound cool... she might have to hit up that Danmaku club later. Curvy lasers could be FUN with her setup, however a naginata user is advancing and Lina's still got her bow at ready. What is she thinking?! She kicks back a bit, letting the tip of that naginata strike home, the bluntness of the blade carrying the archer back a ways, which is both a boon and a bane... a boon for the archer that is.

Hopping back, she takes a good leap backwards and the arrow starts to glow a bit brighter, the spell charged into it: Blizzara. "Time to put you on ice..." she mutters, firing off the arrow as soon as she hits the apex of her jump. Regardless of where the arrow hits, a icicle spike will form out of the arrow an attempt to stab, or bury itself, into Kazuko. Meanwhile, the archer's now running to get some distance, pulling out another arrow with a red glow... "Chase time!"
Kazuko Kawakami      "Nope! But I don't need to be because Yamato helps me pass all my school tests, anyway." Why does she sound /proud/ of that? Kazuko grins widely as she sees her hit striking home, although it quickly comes back to bite her in the ass when Lina puts more distance between them than she'd like. Seeing that arrow coming her way, she swings her weapon upwards to try and deflect it, only managing to knock it a little off course into striking her arm rather than her chest. She grimaces as the icicle slices into her arm, the biting cold and drawing a shiver from the martial artist.

"Heh... Not bad. But I'm just getting warmed up!" Ignoring the blood from her arm for the time being, she grins when Lina shouts "chase time" and does just that, rushing in after the archer with her naginata trailing behind her. With another burst of speed, she brings up the polearm before sweeping it forward, trying and keep Lina within her own optimal range instead of pushing her out of it again.
Lina Brand     "Why are you even PROUD to say that?!" she shouts at Wanko, her face in a scowl, "You're never going to be smart if you let someone else do the work." Lina makes the mistake of stopping for a moment to give Kazuko this very... very awful look, a look so awful.. it's just a very scolding look. "I'll cool you down before you can get warmed up! Or I'll make you overheat!" she preps the arrow she pulled out a bit more, but stopping was a mistake. The horizontal slice cuts deep into her armored tunic. Showing off some metal rings under it.

She looks down at the cut, looks back at Kazuko... the cut... Kazuko.. and she starts to backpedal. The bow is aimed and she lets it loose, combining a couple of her skills into this attack, AIM: ARM with a Fira-laced Arrow... so it'll explode in a plume of fire with a hope of disarming the poor sap of a naginata user. Mostly so she can get a bit of breathing room and set up the field to her own accounts.

With a thwip, the arrow is loosed and she goes back to running away again, running through her repitoire and making mentla notes... what to do what to do. Not calling down the rocks yet but... The arrow starts to glow a brown and red this time, let's see how she deals with this....
Kazuko Kawakami      "That's what you think. I'm not that smart, but I work harder than anyone else to succeed anyway!" It completely flies in the face of logic, but it's... Actually worked for Kazuko. Somehow. She's not about to fix something that's not broken. She grins as that swing takes apart that tunic some, skidding to a stop while preparing herself for the Ranger's next move.

"Don't you know? Martial artists are ready to take anything, so I've got plenty of insulation!" That moment of inane banter costs her, however, as she watches that arrow coming towards her in slow motion. Bringing her weapon up to try and deflect it again, the arrow promptly explodes right next to hand, drawing a cry of pain from Kazuko as her arm gets scorched from the flame. "Wh... What was that?!" Gritting her teeth to fight through the pain, an excited grin crosses Kazuko's face as she goes on the chase yet again, that naginata resting against her shoulder even as she carries it one-handed. "I won't get caught by something like that again!" She roars out and leaps forward before bringing the naginata down towards Lina, using her body weight to try and compensate for that weakness in her other arm.
Lina Brand     "Ow..." she mutters, the attempt at logic with Kazuko could cause an aneurysm. Fortunately... she can cure that... mostly. "I'll pretend that I just didn't hear that." and with the arrow exploding and that cry of pain, she smiles, "Welcome to someone you've never met, using skills you probably have never seen!" Lina laughs a bit and ... she really has to stop doing that. The swing tears back into her tunic again and exposes more of the chain under it. "Will you stop that?! Do you know how hard it is to sew that back?"

She's running more and more, eyeing Kazuko's legs... probably won't work but... she let's the arrow loose again, this time, it's aimed to not hit Kazuko but strike the ground right under her and, a few seconds after that strike, the ground starts to shake and split and plumes of fire start shooting up, the fire shooting up like a spiral, moving back and forth, before exploding! And soon... the ground never had any splits in it, yay magic.
Kazuko Kawakami      "You haven't seen anything yet, either. The Kawakami Style... There's nothing int he Multiverse like it!" Still reeling a bit from that explosive shot to her arm, Kazuko adjusts her hold on the naginata to regain her bearings while giving Lina a dull look. "You could probably move around easier with that, too. It's a lot cheaper to replace shirts like these!"

She even flicks her uniform for emphasis. Sure, one of the sleeves is nearly burnt off and the other has a gash in it from where the icicle had stabbed her, but at least it's covered by the school!

Still chasing after Lina, the martial artist jumps slightly to avoid that suspciously low-aimed arrow, and she's quick to move once that fire shoots into the air. She hasn't learned from the last explosion, though, as the plume of fire exploding catches her from behind and scorches more of her uniform (along with some of her hair)! She uses it to her advantage this time, however, using the explosion to launch herself towards Lina into a... Slide?

It's not the slide that's the attack, however. Instead, she focuses her ki into her good hand as she releases the naginata, then aims a swift punch to Lina's gut from that sliding position! "Kawakami Style: Scoprion Strike!"
Lina Brand     "I may have to do that." she responds in kind, a smile upon her face... for two seconds. The uniform flick, "Though, that uniform looks a bit tacky... Might have to spruce it up a bit." she nods firmly and watches the quick move away, a more malicious smile gracing her face as the flame bursts up and knocks her up into the air. "Hm, good air time. Not enough power though. I really should learn how to cast Firaga..." she starts running once more, grabbing another arrow for something else.. at least...

The slide catches her off guard and the punch connects, stopping the archer cold and causing her to cough up quite a bit, falling over and gasping for air, her arrow drops out of her hand.. and dissipates whatever color it had. She was able to roll with that last one but the way this one had come in, there was no rolling with it. At least, no rolling to avoid. While prone, she twitches just a bit, her lips moving, chanting something, hand in front of her as the top tip of the bow starts to glow.

Did she mention that the bow also acts as a casting staff? Because it does. Sudden bolts of lightning start to surround the Archer Mage, shooting off towards Kazuko in a rapid pace and soon, LIna's starting to glow a soft green. Regen. It might not be enough to stave off any constant damage from this fight, but it should be enough to keep her going at least.
Kazuko Kawakami      "Really? It's easy to move in, at least... And I can wear shorts under it, too!" Lina might be able to confirm that last part with all the jumping around Kazuko's been doing. She's quite pleased with her technique catching the Ranger off guard, using that momentary respite to get back to her own feet and picking up the naginata again to ready herself for the next attack.

"This is getting pretty good, huh? No wonder you were named the Western Deva..." She's clearly having fun with this fight despite the injuries, although she does raise an eyebrow slightly as she hears... Something coming from Lina. Although she can't tell what it is, it does give her some advance warning before those lightning bolts come.

Kazuko's not quite dodging the lightning as she is just desperately trying to juke around it, flinching with each bolt that whizzes by or jolts her. She still seems dead set on getting close to Lina as she did before, however, and with some of that feeling coming back to her arm? She starts to channel her ki into the naginata while spinning it rapidly, charging it up in a faint yellow aura while the weapon doubles as a sort of shield and rapid bludgeoning implement!
Lina Brand     "I might have to ask you for an entrance exam thing later, wouldn't hurt, would it?" she questions, taking a few deep breaths as she backs away some. "I was named the Western Deva because Lute needed someone to fill in, I didn't expect to actually enjoy it..." a pause, "I'm enjoying it quite a bit actually." a grin is given and she readies up another arrow, this time, glowing red and blue, whispering to herself, 'Let's see how this combination works..."

Doublecast has been her favorite thing to use... since she knew how to use it, and it helps that she can use it during stressful situations like say an enemy naginata user trying to slice you in two with. She reaches back, grabbing three more arrows to do the same with... prepping them for an even bigger retaliation as she bounces back and back, getting knicks and small cuts from the spinning weapon.. "Woah now, that is dangerous! How are you supposed to know where you're hitting or WHO?" a pause... she might have to hit her with a Confuse arrow at one point, just to see the hillarity.

However, hillarity can only happen for so long and at the right part, and that part isn't right now. Each hop back sends the archer into the air a bit more with the last hop sending her higher and, in rapid succession, she sends off four Blizzara and Fira coated arrows towards Wanko, the quad arrows soon bursting into cold flame in a hopes to give a big case of frostbite!
Kazuko Kawakami      "Ooh... You're planning on becoming a student, too? Perfect~" Kazuko's grinning from ear to ear despite the violence being inflicted on both herself and Lina. "It's fun, right? Fighting stronger opponents, always trying to get better than you were the day before... That's the spirit of a martial artist! You'll fight right in."

As she keeps spinning her naginata, Kazuko pushes forward a little more before backing off, giving herself some space to work with as Lina readies her arrows. "This might look uncontrollable, but this is all under my control!" It practically looks like helicopter blades with how rapidly Kazuko is spinning it and the yellow aura surrounding the polearm.

"It's a shield, it's an attack, and it's charging for something even stronger!" As if to demonstrate, she uses the whirling weapon to try and deflect the shots! Although she's able to keep them from hitting her directly, the cold flames do make it harder for her to maintain her focus with the rapid variance in temperatures making it harder for her to move as well as she was before. "And that something is... Now!"

Launching herself forward yet again, Kazuko starts zipping from side to side to try and throw off Lina's aim before closing in, spinning herself around once before aiming a big swing at Lina. Sure, it looks like something that'd come out of a cartoon, but there's definitely a lot of force behind the swing! "Kawakami Style: Daisharin!"
Lina Brand     "Planning. I want to see what this school can teach as well. Might just sit in on some classes." she smirks, but that well aimed strike from the helicopter spin lands and smashes right into her chest, sending her back a ways, stumbling. "Nngh, you're pretty strong yourself, almost as strong as Ira." a cough, "And she would have had me too..." the tip of the bow starts to glow a dull orange before the other tip starts to glow that same orange... she's preparing something.

"We should do this more... and I'm sure I can peirce that shield of yours, even if it's just your big stickblade!" she grips the bow-staff in one hand tightly, the glow starting to get brighter and brighter. Up above in the sky, a pair of rips in space-time start to open up, showing a beautiful starry sky.... in mid daylight. "Shall we continue to dance?" she questions, pulling out one more arrow. This cast will take a bit, but it's going to be a beautiful thing when she gets it off.

    For now... let's blind her.
Kazuko Kawakami      "You're really strong, too... I bet you could give Miyako a run for her money." Kazuko takes a few deep breaths to steady herself again, the pain in her arm starting to act up again after taking that big swing. "I dunno who this Ira is, but I'll fight them, too!"

Just how long will her bluster last, though? At that apparent challenge, the martial artist grins widely as she starts spinning that naginata yet again. "You wanna break through this...? Okay! Then here's your chance!" Funneling more of her ki into the blunted weapon, Kazuko actually offers Lina an opportunity to try doing just that. She stares closely at that glowing light, somewhat awed by the unnatural sight before her even as she keeps pouring energy into the spinning until...

Lina's shot strikes true! The arrow threads the needle and goes right past the spinning polearm, and it's only through sheer luck that Kazuko avoids taking the shot right in the face. It pierces into her injured arm's shoulder and draws a sharp cry of pain from the martial artist, forcing her to stop spinning while she fights off the blinding effect! However, that yellow aura continues to linger around the weapon... It's just a matter of time until she can let loose with it once again!
Lina Brand     Something does not sit well with Lina... the blunted weapon glowing. She frowns slightly and looks up to the sky... the double cast is almost done. "Mmmm." she thinks a moment, how long is she going to do that. And what's going to happen. Oh how she wish she had dispelling magics.... but she does have the Confuse spell... but with the Double Cast Comet getting ready... she can't really afford to break it to cast it. Nngh, what to do. wait... what if she can disrupt it?

Lina takes aim once more... she got through it once but can she do it again?! with no spell laced in this one, she takes aim for one of the arms, trying toi do that one more time. With a bit more power this strike, she fires off another Arm Aim!
Kazuko Kawakami      Even with her vision blurry from that spell, Kazuko's spinning doesn't cease. She's counted at least thirty rotations by the time she can see Lina mostly clearly again, and her eyes lock on to that bow aimed at her once again. "You sure do have a lot of cool attacks... But the Kawakami Style's got plenty of our own, too!"

Forty spins. Somehow, the martial artist has managed to count those spins, and a broad grin crosses her face as she starts advancing again. She bolts forward once again as that arrow comes in, trying to get to Lina as quickly as she can with as little wasted movement as possible. She underestimates how quickly both herself and the arrow are moving, however, and cries out yet again when that arrow sinks right into her arm yet again with a spray of blood.

She'll definitely need to get that arm checked out by the end of this fight. Kazuko's not willing to call an end to the fight herself, though, and she barrels on through to drag that aura-coated blade against the ground before swinging it upwards violently towards the damaged part of Lina's armored tunic.

     "Kawakami Style: Tairin Hanabi!"
Lina Brand     "Damn, it didn't work..." she sighs and braces herself, she knows something is coming and it comes quickly. That aura-coated blade slams right into the damaged part of her tunic and breaks right through the chainmail and peirces the skin, only to send the archer flying from the impact! "Ghuuuugh..!" she shouts out, only to land hard onto her front, the quiver spilling out and the ether bottles breaking. So much for that idea. OH well. The bow is still glowing and the rip in space time is getting larger.

"He... hehe.... ahaha... I'm still alive." she coughs out, dragging herself to her feet, clutching her side as red stains her outfit. "Heh... that... was a good strike.." she muttered, "But, I think ... I think it might be time to end this." she coughs again and looks towards the sky, thrusting her bow into the air... "COMET!" a moment later "COMET!" It's when these words are said that the spell flares to finish and...

    Rocks Fall, everyone doesn't die...

Both holes in space-time start firing out in rapid succession a multitude of rocks... on fire... from space. Pelting and pipping the battlefield with them crashing down into the dirt. It's a wide range attack, designed to hit everything she's aiming at... even if it might not do much. But it's the most flashy... and MP intensive... spell in her arsenal.
Kazuko Kawakami      Kazuko pants at the follow-through of that strike, twirling the naginata around once with the tip hitting the dirt behind her with a low thunk. "Of.. Of course you're still alive! We're not... Allowed to kill each other in these matches, you know?" Luckily, the monks have been standing around the ring, standing ready the entire time to handle medical treatment as well as any stray attacks making their way towards the audience.

"Comet...?" Kazuko's eyes follow the motion of the bow, widening as she sees those GIANT GODDAMN ROCKS start hurtling towards her. Thankfully, the rips in space-time from making the comets too unmanageable, and the monks are hard at work straining to keep collateral damage to a minimum! Kazuko, meanwhile, runs around like a bat out of hell and practically screaming while trying to dodge those rocks, but all it takes is one to clip her side before several others hit their mark as well. The martial artist gets knocked around, catches a mild case of being on fire, and overall unpleasant bruising and broken bones!

And yet, she's still barely managing to pull herself out of the crater she's gotten wedged into. "That's so... That's so... Cool!" Clutching her arm and holding it close to her side, Kazuko /still/ can't help but fangirl some anyway. "Th-then... Owowow... Here's my biggest attack!" She breathes in sharply to try and fight off the pain once more, moving forward slowly before breaking into a run. She keeps picking up speed in her approach, moving even faster than she did earlier in the fight until trying to grasp Lina around the waist from behind with her sole working arm.

"Kawakami Style: Mozu-otoshi!" And then she jumps. If she can get a firm enough grip on Lina, she'll lift the Ranger over her head before falling back downwards, aiming to plant her directly into the ground!
Lina Brand     She's still up. Even after the double Comet spell, she's still up. And she's running at her... Oh god, she's running at her and she's out of almost everything! "This can't be..." she whispers, only to get picked up and suplexed right into the ground, a small crater making itself known where Lina was, with a dust cloud pulling up. Fortunately, there was one last thing she could do... and with the dust cloud settling... Lina's dissapeared. Panting hard, clutching her arm, she's still bleeding from that earlier wound.. Regen is still up to keep her from passing out from blood loss, still patching up the wound.

"Wanko..." comes an echoed voice, as she takes the Bow-staff in both hands, the noise of dirt being crunched under foot getting louder and louder towards Wanko... drops of blood trailing her to show where she is. "I... want... your... title..." she groans out, a whoosh of wind and leaves and the Archer Mage shows up... There's scratches and wounds all over her visible body, her nose looks a bit out of place and there's more holes in that armor of hers.

A brief moment... "I'm going to finish this... and I will take your title... and then I'm going... after your sister..." and with this, she raises the bow-staff above her head, takes aim... and tries to bring it down hard upon Wanko's head! Of course, if she misses or not, that bow is going to break in two... with a very loud crack!
Kazuko Kawakami      Kazuko groans painfully as she lays there next to Lina's crater, taking a moment to catch her breath. Her body's battered, bruised, cut up, burnt in several places, her ki reserves are out, and... Well, if Kazuko was anyone else? She'd probably be curled up in the fetal position right now. However, the martial artist has the BURNING KAWAKAMI SOUL in her, and she gets back up with a light stagger as she turns to face Lina again.

"Lina... This... This has been an awesome fight. One day... One day, we'll both be ready to face her!" She laughs and coughs out some blood, hunching over slightly as she watches the Ranger approaching with the bow-staff. The martial artist jerks herself sideways as that bow comes in, moving too slowly to dodge it completely and taking a firm blow to her shoulder.

     Fate hates that arm today.

"This is it, then... One more. I'll show you the move that beat the first Eastern Deva!" Roaring out with one more battlecry, she hunches over with her less-banged up arm held away from her side. Although she's still reeling from the blow, she lurches forward and...

"Gakuto Original... Handsome Lariat!" Aims a clothesline straight for Lina, trying to slam her forearm right into the Ranger's face! It's not flashy, but it's still a move!
Lina Brand     "I... guess it has..." she whispers, shaking her head, her attack didn't finish it nor did any confusion or silencing set in. She was seriously going to have to rethink some of her combat strategies if she was ever going to be useful. Her opponent was still up... and she was out of everything. Maybe the new quiver will help with her ammo problem. She will give a shrug and sigh, "I know I'm ready to face her." she replies back, "I'll be better prepared this time."

At least she's banging up that arm.

Pretty much spent on everything, lacking her Protect spell, Regen finally dissipating and in general not in good condition, that clothesline slams right into her face, knocking the archer out cold. She doesn't get up, just lying there, still breathing, fortunately.
Kazuko Kawakami      Following Lina to the ground, Kazuko can't even get herself back up for a follow up evne if she needs one. Not that she'd want to, though, with that rough landing on the arm that's been damaged so horribly throughout their entire match. There's a low whining noise at first, and some of the audience members may even look confused until realizing that it's coming from the martial artist. She rolls onto her slightly-less injured side next to Lina, managing a single laugh before coughing blood onto the floor.

"G... Good match, Lina. You should... Nn. You should come to the school sometime! Owowow-mmfgh... I'll be looking forward to it." She chuckles once more before slumping over, passing out alongside the ranger as her own wounds get the better of her as well. The temple's monks follow up on that shortly afterwards, taking both fighters in to treat their wounds and, if needed, transfer Lina to the Confederate embassy for pickup.

Someone else will take care of the craters later.
