Lina Brand     Afternoon at Kawakami's Dojo, outside in the field a certain magical archer stretches her limbs a bit. Ira wanted to challenge her for the title and, as a title holder she wasn't allowed to say no. What makes this worse for her is Ira's one of her allies... and field mates. "Ugh, this is going to look bad for me either way." she mutters, "Either I beat Ira and it proves I'm stronger than the tank member or she beats me and I'm outclassed by a tank." she sighs, shaking her head, "Well, guess that will be that. Wonder what the Boss will think."

She twitches just a bit, pulling out a few arrows, thinking a moment, "I wonder if I can use Quake here..." comes a thought out loud, turning to look at the surrounding buildings. "Well, they have a living natural disaster so I think it'll be fine." putting the arrows back into the quiver, she paces back and forth, "I wonder how she fights anyways..."
Ira MacNally     Hilariously, this will be the first time that Ira meets Lina in person. Frankly, she couldn't have asked for a better setup-bonding over /fists/ and /hurting each other/. Though there were intense warnings against killing someone in these matches, Ira didn't seem to worry about them too much. She's learned pretty quickly that Elites are tougher than average humans and can handle being pounded with superpowers.

Ira, for all intents and purposes, looks like a visiting rival school member. She even wears her Drachenblatt Academy uniform and carries a messenger bag over one of her shoulders. It looks like she's pretty unarmed too, carrying no swords or bats or anything she can conceivably fight with. If Lina was astute, she'd notice that Ira has wrapped her hands with cloth. "I'M HERE!" The six-foot tall redhead booms, her Irish accent /quite/ thick. "Alright West Win, I challenge /you/ for your title! So put 'em up!" Ira holds up a hand-it looks like she's got an item clutched in her meaty fist.
Lina Brand     This would, indeed, be the first time that the two have met in person, though hearing Ira on the radio did give her a somewhat decent idea of who she'd be fighting. At least, that was until said redhead makes her way in and speaks. "Wow, you're tall." is all Lina gets out for a good minute. The challenge was issued and she gives a decent shrug, pulling out her bow and notching a blue-coated arrow. "Well, as the Western Deva, I shall accept your challenge and will make sure you will have a hard time getting it."

She adjusts her green ranger's cap, the lightly armored woman pulls out into a stance and gets herself ready, "Though, answer me this, Ira. This won't affect our standing at all together, will they... teammate?" she grins, "And please let me know if it gets too much, I don't want to hurt you THAT badly..." she pulls another arrow out of her quiver, this one glows with holy energy. "Besides, I've been meaning to try a cure arrow..."
Momoyo Kawakami      Sitting off to the side with a set up desk amid the arena is the Northern Deva herself. While the Dojo was a dirt-packed outdoor arena the length of two football fields, it was barriered appropriately by the Kawakami Temple Monks. That allowed a reasonable amount of leeway in special techniques while protecting the audience, though the monks were learning to fluctuate the barriers more with more Multiversal combatants using the Dojo.

"Alright folks, it's another Title Match between Ira Macnally and the Western Deva Lina Brand. Can Lina defend her title??? Lina is one of the many with a reputation as a skilled archer and huntress, but how does Ira fight!? Both girls are stepping into the ring now, getting accustomed to things and choosing the distance they want to be at before giving the customary bow for the match start, or however they choose to start it!" her voice echoes around the Dojo, with monks standing by for first aid. While there weren't as many posters for this match outside the Dojo, they did exist, enough to draw in spectators on a whim in addition to the morning news! For the announcer's part, she was within the arena with her feet up on the announcer's table at a diagonal, another bottle of peach soda in her hands. "Will we get to see more freaky alien bone-things, or maybe some badass explosions!? It all comes down to this as Lina proves she deserves the title she was initially assigned by the Confederacy!"
Ira MacNally     "Thanks." Ira grins a sharp-toothed grin, taking the observation as a flat-out compliment. "I worked very hard on my tallness." Okay, so maybe she's actually being a little sarcastic with that. She stops, her free hand jammed into the pocket of her coat, the other still clutching that mysterious object.

"Affect our standing? Nah. I won't hold it against ya too much." she says with a wink. "Please! I can take /tons/ of punishment!!" she roars, thumping her clutched hand on her chest. "Oh snap we even get commentary! This is going to be /great/! C'mon, Lina! Hit me with your best shot. Literally!"
Lina Brand     Lina nods, then listens towards Momoyo's commentary before giving a chuckle, turning back towards Ira. "Well then. I think we ..." she suddenly turns invisible with a swirl of leaves and wind "shall have some fun here."

    [VANISH]

Fortunately, this doesn't leave any trace of where she's actually moving to, but those with good ears might hear the crunch of dirt under her feet as the Arch(er)Mage sets up a position, an ice element imbued arrow becoming notched into her bow. "Let's see how you can deal with this. There's a reason why I was the best hunter in Odin, we'll make sure I'll keep this title." a pause, "And see if I should go after the higher title." with this, her VANISH status drops, revealing the woman a good two hundred feet away at full draw with her bow. "Hi."

She lets loose the arrow, imbued with the Blizzara spell, an ice element. As soon as the arrow's loosed, she quickly reaches for another arrow and is on the move again, this time fully visible. "Let's dance and I'll be the lead!" depending on if the arrow hits or not, the arrow will shatter and make a patch of ice that soon erupts into a single icicile spire, either hoping to skewer Ira or at least hurt her...
Ira MacNally     "Higher title? Wait, there's a heirarchy to these things...? I didn't know that." Ira shrugs, proving that she doesn't exactly pay THAT much to the stuff that gets said on the Broadband channel. She probably just heard the word 'fight' somewhere in there and decided to sign right the heck up. Besides Target Zones, what better way to show off? "...in Odin? That place with all the metal and golems and shit?" Being in the Zaibatsu it seems she's at least learned a little bit about the world that Lina's from. Then Lina disappears on her.

"Oh man-" she looks around, "-this is some Alien-type shit right herrrraaaaaaaaaaagh!"

The arrow strikes Ira dead-on and actually /knocks her into the ground/. She reels, grasping the floor.

This is the first time she's actually experienced the weaknesses that the Beast shares with her, the sheer intensity of the spell thoroughly catching her off guard. Grunting, she forces herself up to her feet and looks at the object in her hand. "Hope you like fighting multiple opponents. Come, BEAST!" she yells, blue light surging around her as a figure that towers even over Ira appears behind her. It is etheral at first but it quickly solidifies into the thick, meaty, gorilla-like figure that comprises Ira's persona. The beast is a fur-covered creature with a mix between ape and boar, massive curling tusks jutting out of its lower jaw, and a set of shoulders and arms bigger than the rest of its body. It hunches over from the weight difference and even slouched, it is much taller than Ira. Contrasting strangely with the hairy, ugly appearance is the imppecably white prince outfit this beast wears, straining against its bulk, but somehow still containing it. On the lapel of the suit is a red rose corsage.

Both Ira and the Beast split in opposite directions, circling around to Lina's flanks. "GIANT'S SWING!!" Ira calls out dramatically, though it's not actually /needed/ for the Beast to execute the bashing attack, formed by it lacing its fingers together and bringing them down on Lina. Ira comes in with a lower blow of her own, an uppercut punch aimed at Lina's kidneys.
Momoyo Kawakami      "Aaaaand they're off! Ira insists Lina hit her with her best shot and it looks like she did!!! Unseasonably cold weather for Ira don't you think!? Already she's turned a bit blue, but those teeth say she's not gonna put up with the ground for very long!" She takes a moment to sip the soda, tossing her hair behind her.

"Hahaha. Seems like Ira didn't realize there's other titles she and Lina are shooting for! But she's going in with her strange new friend, to try to pincer her opponent. Looks like it worked, because Lina was forced to block, a solid hit in return. The Archer's established her lead, but can she keep out of reach of her opponent long enough to seal the deal?!"
Lina Brand     "You didn't know? You're challenging the supposedly weakest member of the Four Devas." that kinda stung when she said that... "And yes, that Odin. So be prepared." she smiles, though watching the arrow knock her into the ground is quite a sight.. "Eh?" she pauses, looking at Ira curiously, "It wasn't that powerful, was it?" she questions, only to watch her get back up. "Well, you're still up so, that's good. Come on." wait, multiple opponents, "Hey, you're challenging m... ooh..."

The sight of the Beast is a curious one indeed and immediately triggers Lina's huntress mode... oh she's going to have fun with THIS prey now. "You're a summoner..." a grin, "So, we have a giant and a beast. This will be totally interesting." Lina starts to chant something, the tips of her bow starting to glow a strange grey color as the arrow she has starts glowing red, something's coming from that and it's not going to be pretty. As they start charging her, the arrow glows an even brighter red, a double casted spell channeled into the arrow.

The one thing about charging an arrow with a spell, unlike firing them, she can't do this while moving, as such, the massive swing connects and sends her down, fortunately to get a grazing hit from the uppercut going to her kidney, moving just enough to have it hit her side instead! A loud groan as she kicks forward from this low position to get out of the way, a soft red glow surrounds the Archer. "Haste!" and with this, she starts moving quicker than before... mainly to keep out of range.

While running away, she looses the arrow, this time towards the beast because FUR CATCHES ON FIRE and with a loosed Double Cast Fira Arrow, it's going to feel the heat on this. "Having fun yet?" she laughs, "Cause this is actually enjoyable!"
Ira MacNally     "ah, I didn't know. Damn, you should have demanded better billing in the Devas, that kind of blows." Ira quips as she charges, easily able to manage talking while she runs, giving suggestion to some kind of exemplary level of fitness for the girl. She's able to get close really fast and pretty much already knows that she shouldn't give a ranged fighter distance of any kind. She can also recognize the efforts to do get /out/ of her kill zone too, which brings a grin to her face.

"Nice, I can do that too!" Ira announces as the Beast slams both of his fists together, his form suddenly becoming fuzzed around the edges as he moves even faster following a self-buff of his own.

This time, the arrow is not a direct hit as before, though it is enough to actually slow the Beast down in his charge. Simultaneously, Ira staggers, as if she is sharing the pain of the Beast, but keeps up the pressure on the hunter. "Hey! Eat this!" While Lina has a reprive from the Beast, she doesn't get one from Ira! She swings her foot up in a big stomp kick for Lina's center mass.
Lina Brand     So they can use Haste too. Well, this will be even more interesting now. "I'm fine with this, if I can beat anyone who tries challenging me, they're not worth trying to challenge the others now, wouldn't you say so?" she brightly grins, watching the recoil from the pain. So they're connected. This will make taking them down easier, the beast is a larger target, easier to hit...

Now, if she could just keep them out of close range as that stomp kick slams right into her center of mass, pushing her into the ground and causing her to take a sharp gasp of breath. She looks roughed up, but she reaches back towards her quiver and pulls out another arrow, this one glowing brown. She doesn't notch it into her bow to fire, but instead holds onto it a bit longer, a mixture of blue and brown encompass that arrow before she slams it into the ground.

It seems like nothing happened, at least until the arrow's colors dissipate... and the ground starts shaking rapidly. "I'm not hungry, but here, have dessert!" and with that, the ground splits open in a quake as ice spires shoot up rapidly, some in sharp spires and some flat, with one of the flat ones ramming into Lina's back and sending her to the sky.. and away from the brawl.

At least for a few moments, whne she falls back towards the ground, tumbling into a readied arrow again, "Come on... I have more tricks where that came from!" this arrow, however, is glowing a sickly green as she takes aim, getting ready to fire...
Ira MacNally     "Too bad! Because I'm gonna stuff my fist in your mouth!" Ira replies gleefully. "Hope you like the taste of ham!!-argh!!!" So while she can seemingly handle the quake arrow, the actual /ice/ seems to really bother her once it finally reaches her as she moves through the air from being juggled momentarily.

But while the focus is on her, the Beast takes the moment to strike. While it does, however, Lina will find Ira yelling out "DOUBLE FANG!" to accenuate the incoming attack. True to the name, the Beast tries to seize Lina in both hands and sink those teeth into her neck. It's extremely brutal and probably /would/ kill anyone less than an Elite. It's clear to those watching that Ira isn't holding back in any sense of the word. Perhaps she trusts that Lina can actually handle the otherwise lethal attacks!
Lina Brand     "Wait, what?" she questions, "I like ham but your ....Ooooh... ham fist..." she laughs a bit... and waits, biding her time, a snakebite arrow getting ready to strike only to get the Double Fang... she screams loudly from the bite towards her neck, a shocked expression on the archer's face. There wasn't supposed to be a killing attack during these and at least she knew it but maybe Ira didn't. As she's dropped from the bite... she slowly pants, breath ragged from it, it's here that she starts to glow a soft blue. "Regen..." she chokes out, the wounds slowly closing and healing to prevent dying.

She slowly tries to get up, that arrow still glowing, she takes rough aim and let's the arrow loose, a Ranger's special arrow: Snakebite Arrow, a poison laced arrow that SHOULD poison her target.... "Heh.. I... I thought lethal attacks were... disallowed..." she groans, hoping the arrow hits as she backs away, now glowing a yellow. "Protect..."
Momoyo Kawakami      "And now all the fighters are hasted, nullifying any speed advantages but making it much harder on the audience to see what's going on! Don't worry, since your announcer the Northern Deva is here to continue to provide commentary! That fire arrow didn't take like Lina hoped, and she's taken a nasty kick to her center, oooh!"

"But wait, she springs herself into the air with her own move, assaulting what appears to be Ira's elemental weakness! Ira is NOT happy about this at all! OOOOHHH!!! HER BEAST JUST TRIED TO BITE OFF HER OPPONENT'S HEAD IT LOOKS LIKE! Only an Elite under the effects of regenerative magic could survive such an assault! Lina's vengeance for that attack is going to come slowly... it looks like she just nicked Ira with a poisoned arrow! Ira will have to finish this fight with a bang soon if she doesn't want to continue to be worn down by Lina's speed!"
Ira MacNally     "It wasn't lethal." Ira points out bluntly, "You're still alive, right? He just bit you, he didn't rip your throat out too. Hmmm." She makes a mental note to herself to do that when it's not some title match on the line. "C'mon, you're some might Odin hunter, don't tell me you're upset at getting bitten by some animal." Ira half-taunts her opponent. "If this whole Deva thing is THAT fussy about the no-killing thing-guh."

Ira flicks the arrow out of her, ignoring the festering, burning wound it leaves behind as the poison settles in.

"Beast! Let's do it! CRUEL ATTACK!" she calls out, charging Lina again. But rather than come in with a punch or anything of the sort, she slips behind Lina and tries to lock her up in a half-nelson by wrapping up her arms. If she can immobilize the archer, that's when the Beast comes in.

The Beast's role in this, of course, is to pound the prone opponent with massive, hairy fists. Cruel attack indeed.
Lina Brand     "A neck bite?! I could have lost a lot of blood! You're lucky I'm part Red Mage." Lina yells back, then the taunting, "Okay, you've asked for it. No more Miss Nice Hunter." Lina notches up another arrow, this one glowing very strange. Black and Yellow. Something powerful was coming her way and she wasn't going to like it. Though with the Beast coming in to pound her back into the ground, she lets out a groan with each hit, scrabbling away from the Beast.

Lina goes through some things. Attacking the Beast also hurts Ira. Ira didn't like Blizzara nor did she like Fira. How would she take a Gravity spell mixed with Thundara... Time to find out. She backflips a bit, giving a kick to the Beast's body to get some distance, and while in the air, she aims the arrow just right... and fires, the whole thing stopping in mid air a good foot away from the beast as a minor gravity well opens up and starts emitting bolts of lightning everywhere!

Panting heaviliy, she pulls out something from the quiver... a bottle of greenish liquid and downs it. An ether.
Ira MacNally     "You could but it takes time to die from that. You would have survived." At least Ira apparently thinks she herself was survived-"Wait, what do you mean no more nice hunter? Have you been holding back!?" Ira suddenly looks...kind of angry, actually. "Do you think I'm not taking this fight seriously? Do you think I don't got something on the line here!?" she roars, the Beast mirroring her anger as it leaps backwards, far enough out out of range of the gravity well that it doesn't manage to really hurt, aside from a few stray zaps of lightning.

She barely gives Lina a chance to finish her ether before Ira herself is moving in, swinging with several tight, straight punches that seem to have a very boxer-like quality to them. Those observing will realize she doesn't exactly have a style. She has no training. Plus she fights a little dirty. It's clear that she had to teach herself to fight and has absolute no style but plenty of aggression.
Lina Brand     There we go, that's what she wanted. Now she can have complete control of the battle. "Of course." she smirks, dashing in close this time, putting her bow away and grabbing her dagger. "See, a Ranger's best skill? I can use most of those abilities without my bow!" However, there was a surprise she was planning as a small rip in space starts to open, the Archer's mouth rapidly speaking something. She skids to a stop and backs away, some of those punches connect but Lina rolls into them, mainly to get a better angle.

With this, she ducks down, flips her dagger around ninja-holding style and goes for a slice as the spell continues, that bit of space rip opening up more and more. She continues to advance into Ira, dagger swinging in precise motions, "Just end this, will you? I kinda like this title, it actually makes me feel useful and wanted!" she will finish her little assault with a kick, trying to knock the Persona User away!
Ira MacNally     "Wait doesn't that defeat the purpose of /being/ a ranger...?" Ira asks, clearly confused by this superpowers set. Ira continues circling around Lina to get a better angle herself, trying to slip around to her flanks or 'dead' side as it were if this were an actual boxing match. For being so big, she's still fast on her feet, still due in part to the earlier speed-bosing buff that the Beast used on them both.

"End this?" Ira says, moving into the dagger and tanking each attack. She keeps going despite the /obvious bleeding/ this brings with each spot where the knife blow landed. Unlike with the arrows of ice, she doesn't seem to be slowed down so much by these attacks. In fact, she seems all too happy to bring them on and keep moving forward to strike at Lina. She pulls her fist back before-

"PRIMAL FORCE!"

Ira ducks down as the Beast charges overhead like a bullet, flinging its whole self bodily at Lina, trying to pin her to the ground and unload a flurry of punches that would splatter anyone else into a fine paste. Lina, being a tough Elite, will most definitely survive.
Lina Brand     "We just prefer fighting from afar, doesn't mean we can't get up close when need!" she ducks and dodges, trying to avoid some of those punches but when the words "Primal Force" is given, and that fist swings back... she expects a large punch...

She gets a Beast instead and pounded into the ground. Those punches bruise and batter many parts of the Ranger, eyes closed... nose broke, the sound of more bones breaking with the flurry of heavy punches. Fortunately the regen is still working its effects, fixing things as they get pounded but it still hurts like hell.

It's here that the sky finally finishes opening that massive hole. "COMET, BLIZZARA!" the Ranger shouts from the flurry, yelling in pain as a flurry of her own, ice-enhanced rocks from space start pelting the arena around herself, the Beast and Ira, going on for a good thirty seconds of pelting before letting up, that rift dissapearing from the sky like it never showed up.
Ira MacNally     Ira can hear bones snapping. Although they are teammates, she can't help but feel a little bit satisfied by this sound. She'll remember it for later! "Tch, well, I guess I can /kind/ of respect being well rounded." Ira grouses, grinning as her fient was successful. "Hey, you're still okay over there, right?"

She's starting to think..maybe she should give Lina a chance to give in? As much fun as beating someone to near-death wound be, she does have a slight adversion to doing it against a teammate. Of course, all thoughts of mercy evaporate quickly when Lina elects to dump blizzard-rocks on her head. Much like before, this knocks her to the ground, leaving her in a pile of ice-covered debris. The Beast shudders at this and there's a long moment when Ira is on the ground that could potentially be capitalized on if Lina were the type to kick people while they're down. A groan escapes her as she slowly gets back up again. "That...that /really hurt/. I mean seriously. Beast! Spike!!"

It quickly becomes apparent what Ira means by 'spike'. The Beast tries to scoop Lina up and throw her at Ira, where Ira is waiting with a sort of baseball-bat like swing, only there's no bat, just both of Ira's hands held together. It's pretty much just as effective as a bat, given Ira's hard, calloused body.
Lina Brand     Lina's feeling the hurt, but thankfully Regen's just about done with its work, keeping her up and going... at least, while pinned under this beast of a Beast. She shakes her head... coughing, "I'm... I'm not done yet!" as she slowly gets back up, pulling her bow out. Though, as soon as she gets up, The Beast scoops her up and lobs her! At first, this might have sounded fun but at the other end, she gets slammed by a baseball bat swing... with those arms, sending her back up into the air to ponder.

She doesn't have much time but it looks like she doesn't like ice attacks AT ALL. Grabbing four arrows and imbuing them all with Blizzara spells, she gets this most devious looking grin ever. "Icicle Fall." And with four thwips, a rapid barrage of icicle arrows streak towards Ira, with Lina falling to the ground on her back with a pained grunt. "Hehe..."

The spells in the arrows dissipate and soon, the four arrows are now four large icicles, spread with two going to beast and two at Ira, not that it made a difference... "Cold spell incoming!"
Ira MacNally     Ira knows that if she keeps getting hit with ice, she's not going to be able to keep this up much longer. She breathes hard, sweat dripping off her forehead, muscles straining. Based on behavior, Ira can tell that her opponent has figured this out-which is a problem. A /huge/ problem that she'll have to figure out how to address later.

With her enhanced speed, she takes care to focus on dodging arrows. It works out for her but the Beast is way too large to dodge effectively-it's speed is better put to use moving onto opponents to attack them, so the two arrows fired at it definitely strike as intended, staggering Ira by proxy. She stumbles, staying aloft as she runs at Lina with her Persona approaching from the other side. "BEAUTY BREAKER~!" Ira calls out, completely making up an attack name on the spot. Not only that it's...probably a highly inappropriate one too given the background involved with the Persona. Beauty breaker apparently consists of alternating punches between the Beast and Ira, converging on one unlucky target at once.
Lina Brand     Lina staggers a bit, the Archer Mage really pulling out all the stops and then some... her own Magic Particle reserves low, even after that Ether and there's really no time to grab another one. What's worse is she's stopped glowing those myriad of colors... her buffs are gone... including Protect. So when this Beauty Breaker strike comes in, Lina feels every single one, both the Beast and Ira's punches feeling like a bullet to her chest as she stumbles back from each one, gasping for air as she tries to keep conciousness and stay upright. Another punch causes her to cough up a bit of blood from the wounds she's been taking, but she's not out just yet.

With what strength she can muster, she reaches for an arrow.... her bow dropping to the ground. She's got enough Magic Particles left to double cast one more spell. "With this..." she whispers, coughing harder... if there was one thing she couldn't do, imbue her own blade with this so an arrow will have to do.

Just like before... her eyes blank out, not believing she's actually doing this again, "Ends the match! BLIZZARA EXPLOSION!" she shouts out, as one of Ira's strikes comes in, she presses into it, moving to try and jam the bright blue glowing arrow into her and, if she's able to lodge it in, the magic in it will explode to send a massive chill through the body and send icicles exploding outwards, to stab in every other direction, shaped to make sure no vital organs and such are injured.
Ira MacNally     Despite all this, Ira doesn't seem to complain about her weakness being exploited. She's pretty sure she'd be doing the same to Lina if she had access to the appropriate elemental spells to hit her with. The threat to freeze Ira was quite real, she had no illusions about that-what Ira did take exception to is being called /scared/ by the hunter. A 'tch' escapes her as she decides to run directly at the spell, embracing it, feeling the pain of ice lancing through her body, staggering forward and falling onto her face, squirming in pain. For those moments it does look like Lina has won.

Except Ira, slowly, climbs back to her feet. She sways and wavers, staggering over to Lina. As she walks, the Beast disappears, fading like a shadow in direct sunlight, leaving no presence behind except for the lingering smsell of burned fur. She steps after Lina, perhaps ready to surrender...

...only to unleash a headbutt once she gets close enough.
Lina Brand     Panting hard she takes a deep gulp of air, coughing... with all this, she should have won, should have kept her title. That arow sticking in her... the squirming Ira... She defended her title and she nearly killed her partner and match opponent in the process. "I don't think I'm cut out for this Confederacy stuff...." she muttered, shaking her head as she backs away. A heavy gasp is emitted when Ira climbs back to her feet. "No... way... You're still up?!"

She backs away even more, pulling out the Wing Edge one more time. "You're crazy. Crazier than Jinx crazy." then the headbutt sends her flat on her ass and head slams right into the ground, bouncing just a bit. She lies there, looking defeated, groaning out as her whole body is in pain, how she wish she had more armor to use. "You... are definately... crazy." she goes over her options in her head... not enough particles to even cast Blizzard... no time to reach for an ether... and she's out of arrows. Great.

There's just one thing she has left to do, as she slowly gets up herself, climbing to her feet... she clutches the Wing Edge hard. "Enough." she whispers, "I'm keeping my title, Ira... I'm not wanting to be useless! The Hunter Mage, Lina Brand, will continue on!" she kicks off the ground, leading with the blade in a desperate attempt to stab Ira. Where? As long as knife goes into flesh, Lina couldn't care less.
Ira MacNally     "I'm still up." Ira grins a grin with a slight bit of blood clinging out of the corner of her mouth. That's probably not a good sign. Maybe she really is crazy. Maybe she doesn't listen to her body when it tells her to stop fighting. Lina's assessment might not be far off, especially since she doesn't seem terribly angry with Lina for doing what she did. "Definitely crazy. Tough crazy. All kinds of crazy. You aren't the first to call me that and you won't be the last. I'm just gonna embrace it. Roll with the punches.

Then she frowns at Lina as she murmurs about not wanting to be useless. There's a flat look on her face as she takes a stab to the gut, though Lina will find that the knife doesn't penetrate so far against her. "Not wanting to be useless?" Ira says, "The hell does that mean? You can't call yourself that or else Murasame wouldn't have hired you." Calmly, Ira pulls herself off the knife and leans over to flick Lina's forehead.

"This match is a draw to me. Keep your title, I'll take one from that Kazuko girl. Or someone else." Ira draws herself up and gently presses a hand over her bleeding knife wound. "Show's over! I had my fight, don't want the title!"
Momoyo Kawakami      There was a mixed reaction from the crowd from such a close match, but Momoyo merely shook her head. She had been commentating most of the match until the dead heat at the end, but respect won out at the last moment.

The title holder would not be pleased at all to be spared if she had any sort of self-respect. Such a conceded match would certainly cause all kinds of toxic, mixed feelings between the two... and it would have to be resolved with another challenge, which could only come from Ira herself.

"Winner... Western Deva. Lina keeps her title."

The monks move in to give enough first aid for the two to get back to the Fed-JSDF embassy building in the city, after cleaning and dressing the wounds and allowing both fighters enough breathing room to perform self-aid.

"Ara, ara...(My, my...)" she observes both neutrally, the gaze of the Northern Deva eyeing her competition as the small crowd thinned out from the multi-hour battle to gossip for months afterward. A byline about the match would eventually make it to the Multiversal News.
Lina Brand     With the flick to her forehead, Lina slumps down. Did she... really concede? She did, didn't she. This didn't feel right to her, something about this was unsettling to her. She ran from home when the easy way was out because she was useless in a few things there and the things she saw... she shakes her head, "Ira, finish it." she demands, "I'm not going to feel right unless you finish this, useless or not... I cannot accept a concede. It's... wrong for both of us."

She coughs, looking towards Ira, "I can find other ways to be useful... so go on. Finish this. I've got nothing left to even counter attack you with... I'm out of magic, out of arrows..." she frowns, "Finish this... or do you intend to let this victory eat at me?"
Momoyo Kawakami      "Shut up." the Northern Deva declares, at Lina. "The match has been called. You're going to disrespect her as surely as you attacked her from behind if you keep talking." she continues sharply, lecturing the ranger while the monks mill about.
