Nagato     It's a crystal clear day, mid afternoon at Hikari Seaport. The windsock is barely moving and there doesn't look to be a storm on the horizon, the water is calm and everything /seems/ to be perfect. It's this day Nagato is in front of the launch bay. Five other girls are near the Admiral today. Two of them wearing traditional Kyudo outfits with a red skirt on one and a blue skirt on the other, another two are wearing what looks to be grey and white outfits, one seems to be holding a riding crop and the other has a training flag ornament in her hair. The last one's distinctive sillouhette, done up in red is there in front, a bright smile upon her face.

Nagato's face, however, is stoic compared to the five in front of her. "They will be here soon. Akagi, Kaga. You two are responsible for the kyudo style training. Ryuujou, you're responsible for onmyouji style. Katori, Kashima. You two will be joining Kagurazaka in training the new carriers and helping Kagurazaka with anti air. I've set aside a pair of buckets for you two as a bonus for this."

Nagato looks up to the sky, this will be one busy day, for sure.
Mairead Sandilands     Mairead Sandilands was busy getting ready to launch and really did not need the airstrip, as she could just hover up andfly at subsonic speeds. Her IS, Emerald Lady was not designed for supersonic speed, but could get up to 400 mph, about 645 kph. As she waits for the word from Admiral, she looks around and wonders what she is to do and also is still thinking about what happened against that Sith. "I was stupid going to that with Kazuko," she mentions to herself as she waits. "I should have known she was there," she adds as she shudders from the image in her mind.

She has been thinking alot and getting little sleep due to it; she is up more due to that fight and the fact she was close to death. Added to that was what happened the day before that mission with her being covered in thousands of insects and how she lost it. One of her biggest fears, Acarophobia, which is a fear of insects that causes itching. That temple in that mountain brought that out and she has been on pins and needles since. She really has not done much but school work from Kawakami Academy and kept to herself when around others. If her friends, allies and the union found out, she would probably be removed from here as an IS Rep, and possibly be removed form being the operator of Emerald Lady.

That scares her so she has been toughing it the best she can, which is hard on her. Yet she knows that will not happen, but it si still in her mind. Plus what if she fails being part of the Hikari Fleet. She could be removed from that. Outside of Kazuko, those her ein he Hikari Fleet are the closest thing to family that she has.

"This is Mairead Sandilands, Emerald Lady is ready for launch Hikari Flight Control." she says over the radio.
Yuna Kagurazaka Yuna can't help but be excited as she finishes changing into her SDP-design sailor fuku and hurries to the deployment building. After helping to gather the needed resources, practicing with Nagara's equipment (and having to take the field in it), and holding relatively still while Akashi was putting the finishing touches on it last night ...

Her new equipment is *finally* ready to use on an actual deployment.

Never mind that it's a training mission (which is absolutely fine with her), it's still *her* light cruiser gear, not a borrowed set, and it's been fine-tuned to fit *her* rather than one of the other Fleet Daughters. She grins and waves to Kotone and Reiji on her way in, and waits for her turn to come up. When it does ...

"Light Cruiser Kagurazaka, sortie!!"

She steps forth onto the 'launch' pad, the kanji lighting up beneath her as the kanji for her last name scroll up on the display board; a moment later, the first of her equipment is being pulled into place and attaching over her clothes. A large pair of anklets akin to the prow of a ship are affixed first, just above her shoes; the main part of the rigging is next, securing itself to her fuku's back with additional turrets on either side of her waist and thighs, and a vambrace with a launch rail for her left forearm. Her right arm remains free, long enough to catch the *other* turret - configured more like a very large pistol, with a leather shoulder-strap attached to it; she grasps it in her hand, holds it out as if sighting in on a target with it, then loops the strap over her shoulder and leans forward, picking up speed as she heads out onto the open water.

Not very far, though; Nagato said 'meet in front of the base,' so that's where Kagurazaka goes, slowing to a halt to group up with the others and receive any more detailed instructions.
Haguro      Haguro's far from the others gathered at the launch bay today, skating around rapidly with an oversized backpack. As she speeds along, she sets down floating targets in the water and makes sure they're a fair distance away from each other. She needs to make sure they don't get hit by accident, after all, and she even sets some in regular patterns while others are in erratic patterns. The sea isn't always consistent, so the targets need to reflect that!

Should anyone look over at the Heavy Cruiser, however, she'll pause briefly to wave, then get back to work. All in all, it's quiet and peaceful work. Perfect for someone as high-strung as her, really.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone was for new experiance, and this certainly was a new one she's be ready to listen to what she had to learn here. She hadn't intended to do this, it just kinda happened and well it might be honestly a good idea to know how to use the local gear. After all she might end up in a situation where it's the only option. It was also interesting to her given she's grown up on the water and for a time lost the ability to do anything safely on it. She'd asked for a lift today from Rory. She was glad to have a close friend along for this.

"This may be strange but I thought you might find this to be interesting to see, given how varied the multiverse can get, Rory. You should be able to make use of my drones or your own to get a full view of the training session. Also the fleet would likely appricate getting the recordings to go over later!"

Kotone had to head to the launch bay to finish getting all of her gear on and that didn't take too long and soon she ws making ready to launch. She made sure the quiver and the rest of the gear was in place. She checked the quiver and the bos again making sure they were in place. It was time to wait for the command to launch.

"Kotone Yamakawa ready to sortie."
Reiji Arisu     Interdimensional relations are a strange and curious thing. Sometimes, maintaining them requires great personal sacrifice. Whether that's time, or money, or pride, few things are more important than making sure the gears of the diplomatic process remain spinning. In the spirit of cooperation, in the fulfillment of his role as a field officer of the Shinra organization and as a messenger from one Japanese government to another, Reiji Arisu has made the trip to Hikari Seaport.

Also, because if he didn't, he'd disappoint an altogether far too innocent girl, and that's just not something his icy heart can take.

Specifically to the underground launch bay beneath the port proper.

The exorcist rolls his shoulders underneath the unfamiliar uniform that he's been provided with. It's a rather smart ensemble of red, white and olive green, like something between a ceremonial kimono and hakama, and an actual military uniform. He adjusts its collar slightly and tugs idly at the straps securing his more... traditional armament to his back and shoulders.

New clothes always take some getting used to.

As the machinary around him begins lighting up, he supposes that 'wearing a boat' will also take some getting used to.

ONE TRANSFORMATION SEQUENCE LATER

Reiji arrives on vaguely prow-shaped skates along with the rest of the new inductees. His expression is largely unreadable, though that itself is nothing particularly new. What is new is the scroll he's slung up against one of his shoulders. Judging by how he's presently (mostly) dry, it seems like he hasn't fallen over into the water. Yet.

That may still change.
Rory White     Since Kotone came, so has Rory White. She's beamed down from the Odyssey with Kotone some time ago and has set up multiple drones across the beach. Saucers float high in the air, spread over kilometers and turn dozens of high-resolution wide-spectrum scanners across the beach and waves.

"Alright! Recording away! All analysis AIs are prepped! ... This is exciting!"
Nagato     After the three 'guest ships' launch, it's time for the main fleet. The bay lights up as all six: Nagato, Kashima, Katori, Ryuujou, Kaga and Akagi, all finish their equip and shoot out towards the water. It does take a moment, the fleet is a heavy fleet, so it does take a few minutes to get to the designated rendevoux point, mainly where Kagurazaka is. Meanwhile, Ryuujou is standing RIGHT NEXT to Reiji... "I knew it would fit on you! Sorry if it's a bit small, but it looks great on you, little brother! But here, let me show you how to use this." Ryuujou holds out her scroll which, with some blue flame from her fingers, extends out into a full on flight deck. She then pulls out some paper talismans from her jacket, "You should have a good supply of talismans in your jacket, fighters, dive bombers and torpedo bombers." a pause, "If you concentrate, you'll be able to see where your planes are and get a visual using their communications equipment. It may take some getting used to so only launch one wing at a time."

Akagi and Kaga move over towards Kotone, giving a look over the bow and quiver, "Shouhou's outfit?" Kaga questions, a bit sternly, "It will do." Strangely enough, Kaga's and Akagi's quivers are filled with nothing but yellow fletching arrows. Training arrows. "Zuihou could not make it, however, we shall be your instructor." continues Kaga as Akagi moves over, adjusting the muneate around Kotone's chest, then adjusts the quiver and then finally, the bow. "Alright, now you're ready. In your quiver, you should have thirty arrows. Ten fighters, the ones with the green fletching, those are used for air to air combat. Then red fletchings will have dive bombers, they drop a small bomb onto the enemy to explode, it's also very effective against submarines since you're a light carrier. The blue fletchings have torpedo bombers, they launch torpedoes from their underbelly, best used against heavier ships like Nagato for example." Kaga moves in for a moment, "You should be able to hear and see where your planes are after you launch them from your bow. Just concentrate and use their communications equipment to see."

Meanwhile, Katori and Kashima sail up towards Kagurazaka and starts dragging her away. "All three fleet carriers here will have training arrows and your two friends will have normal arrows." Kashima waves towards Haguro as she's setting the targets up as Katori continues to explain, "Us three will be the target for their attacks, your job will be to shoot them down." Katori points to the various anti-air guns on Kagurazaka's armor with the riding crop. "I do not know if they fitted you with radar but you should hear a ping in your head from the equipment when aircraft are sighted. It should give you a decent point on where to aim with those."

Meanwhile, Nagato is there, watching. Waiting.. Something's up her non-existant sleeve...
Yuna Kagurazaka Kagurazaka doesn't need a lot of dragging; once Katori and Kashima give her a tug in the right direction, the blonde settles into 'formation' with the other two, listening attentively. "So it's basic anti-air defense, with live opposition and the possibility of live ammo," she answers. "As for radar ... well, nobody told me that I *wouldn't* have it, so ..."

She trails off, half-closing her eyes (and almost-reflexively correcting her bearing in the water as she feels the surface dip beneath her). Whatever Ooyodo was talking about, she *should* be able to pick them up via her own radar, and even if they're not hostile - which seems unlikely; Elner might not accompany with her on Fleet business, but the robo-faerie is around somewhere despite that - then it'll be a good chance to practice 'reading' her radar.

... assuming, again, that she HAS it. If not, it's up to Katori and Kashima to help point her in the right direction, and she'll just have to eyeball it for aiming properly.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa Was fairly excited and she watches as the actuall Fleet Daughters sortie out and it's quite the right to see. She looks to Akagi and Kaga as they come over to look her over. Kotone nods a little bit. She knew the arrows had something to do with how the planes took form. She did get Kaga's stern loo, prehaps she'd should have used another set of gear but it's too late for now. She'll be paying close attention now. She doesn't fight or move as Kaga and Akagi make adjustments to her load out.

"Green are fighters . Red are dive bombers and Blue are Torpedo Bombers, got it!"

She's serious but she's also earger to prove the Fleet trusting her like this wasn't missplaced at all. Thankfully as Kaga explains about how to track her planes, it seems to be much akin to the remote drone control she does, so it should not be too hard to adapt to doing it this way. She does have a faint smile on her face, she's not cocky but she clearly is ready and this might almost be fun even if it's something serious.

"Is there anything else I should know?"
Mairead Sandilands     Mairead is busy speaking with Ooyodo on the fleet radio and has just learned that she is the air target, "I think I forgot the bullseye I will be needing," she states as she checks her systems and things begin to appear from the Hyper Sensor. Shield strenght reads (500). Weapons are all green and everything is ready.

Hovering at 6000 feet and 100 miles form Hikari, she closes her eyes as she stays in position. The hypersensor allows Mairead to see in all directions without having to turn he rhead, so she is able to see above, below, behind, infront and to her left and right. Looking at he list, she thinks and speaks, "Ivar, Trident, Alistair." she calls out as she summons her beam bow, the shield on her arm and the missiles that are loaded in the floating wings over her shoulders. "I'm bored," she mutters to herself as she listens to the radio.
Reiji Arisu One must never underestimate the speed of a light carrier.

Ryuujou is suddenly RIGHT THERE as if she had somehow mastered the art of naval teleportation. Reiji doesn't actually jump, but only because he, too, is skilled in the art of appearing out of thin air just when the audience least expects it, although there are no tall buildings around here for him to use today.

Not that there'd really be too many tall buildings at sea to begin with, except maybe the occasional lighthouse.

Reiji inclines his head as instructions are given. He nods every so often, but otherwise remains silent to let Ryuujou finish. "It's fine, anego," he says after a moment, "It's not the first time I've had to wear something slightly off-size." He glances over towards the others as they ship out, then back towards Ryuujou, "So. Will they fly themselves once I send them up, or will I need to concentrate on guiding them once they're in the air?"
Nagato     Ryuujou squeals at being called big sister again. She's just lapping up the role now. "Mmhmm, they'll guide themselves, just make sure you send the right command when you send them out." she firmly nods and stands right next to Reiji, albeit it's really close. "Hehe, I'm happy." Nagato, however, gives a stern look at the two Onmyouji CVL's, to which Ryuujou straightens up and salutes, "Ehehehe, sorry admiral~" she mentions, turning back towards Reiji, "So, Kashima, Katori, Kagurazaka are our sea targets, so you'll want to use Dive and Torpedo bombers for them. Sandiands will be part of their anti air support so you'll want to use your fighters against her. But focus on one wing at a time okay?"

Kaga and Akagi finish their inspection of the new Kyudo CVL, giving a nod at the confirmation of what does what. "You'll have a larger plane count compared to the onmyoji carriers such as Ryuujou and Arisu and if you do well, you may become a good carrier, however, you must practice and show dedication, we of the First Carrier Division will not accept anything less than your absolute best if you wish to sortie with us." comes Kaga's stern voice again, with Akagi giving a pat on Yamakawa's shoulder.

Nagato does speak up and over the radio. "Training sortie, start. Tenth Carrier Division, Arisu and Yamakawa, launch your planes. First Carrier Division, Ryuujou, back them up." a pause... then a private radio chat toward Sandilands, Kashima, Katori and Kagurazaka. "You will have live aircraft coming at you four, damage will not be simulated, in addition, you have been loaded with live ammunition as well. Good luck."
Haguro      "And that's the last one..." Haguro says to herself with a satisfied grunt as she sets the last target, skating backwards for a moment to observe her handiwork. Thirty stationary targets in total, all spread out over a wide area, and all before the exercises begin. How did she even fit all those targets in that backpack anyway? It's probably easier not to ask.

Skating back towards the gathered group, she bows lightly to Kashima before standing/floating at attention when Nagato speaks. Once the admiral finishes speaking, she turns to Reiji, Kotone, Mairead, Yuna, and Ryuujou with a firm salute and a polite, if somewhat anxious smile.

"Good luck, everyone. I know you can do it."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa sees there's nothign else ot say as she's ready to go, she takes a deep breath. As she knows it's time to go, she knows her units are going to be live, and it's time to get to it. Kotone readies the bow, notched the first of her fighter arrows and draws back, it's easy enough, but she's making sure to not over draw given her intate strength. "Deploying fighters."

After all it wouldn't do for her bombers of either type to have no protection. She lets the first fighter fly, and then several more join it, but she does not deploy them all, it would be unwise to have no air defence.

She's thankful for Haguro's and Nagato's well wishes. She's soon making ready to get some of the dive bombers up into the air, she seems to be makjing ready as the small planes are flying about and tracking them, is pretty much just like how she was told to do it.

"You know Reiji! I was born and raised in coastal town! I was always on he water or near it as a kid!"
Yuna Kagurazaka And the mission has begun.

Kagurazaka finishes acclimating herself to how her 'radar' works, and takes a moment to focus on her other equipment fairies, ensuring that all of her turrets are loaded with airburst shells - so she only needs to get 'close enough' to enemy aircraft, rather than nailing them directly. That's going to be what, six carriers' worth of aircraft to wory about? She won't have time to go for fancy precision - and she hasn't forgotten about almost eating a bomb with her face on that one mission.

At least personalized and properly-balanced gear means she doesn't have to double-check her own movements.t Kagurazaka is staying port-wards of Katori and Kashima for now, ready to be their first line of defense ... or maybe the second line, given that Mairead is flying air cover for them.
Reiji Arisu "You're a carrier," he asides quietly to Kotone, "If you start swimming below the water line, then you've got problems."

Reiji can't help but feed Ryuujou's swelling onee-san meter. The idea of damping her enthusiasm just feels all kinds of wrong. The Onmyoji-turned-carrier nods again, one hand sliding into his sleeve to fish out a handful of little paper dolls. "And I can only use what I've been given, right? That limits my options a bit."

But if he could just do whatever he pleased, then it wouldn't really be much of a training exercise, would it?

Still, the way she phrased those instructions...

With a mild flourish, Reiji unfurls the great scroll he'd slung up against his shoulder. It flutters briefly before stiffening into a single solid plane. "So," he murmurs, one hand folding into a simple mudra. "Like this, then?" A cool wind blows across the seaport, twisting through the delicate paper dolls in Reiji's hand. His lips move imperceptibly, soft, almost silent words whispering into the breeze. The wind picks up, sweeping into a brisk gale that takes hold of the little dolls, sending them tossing and turning through the air.

Fingertips curl, tendons draw taut, his hand locks into a new sign.

Each of the dolls freeze in place in spite of the wind howling around them. The sea remains tranquil, the dolls shift, align, and then sweep in single-file line down towards the deck-scroll. Eight torii blaze to life in sequence as the talismans shoot through, bursting into white-hot flame before dissolving into a flight of miniature fighter planes.

Reiji's eyes are half-lidded, his quiet chant is lost in the breeze and the roar of a dozen tiny rotary engines.

It looks like he wasn't kidding about being an actual onmyoji.
Mairead Sandilands     Mairead nods and drops from 6000 feet to 200 feet above the three ship girls, Kagurazaka, Katori and Kashima. The would notice that her IShas only three things that are ready, a shield on the left forearm, a bow type weapon in her right hand and that is it. The armor is emerald greenin color, with navy blue trim and yellow highlights in areas that glow amber gold color. Therre is some type of head dress that starts with a crown on top of her head and four wing like extentions that are attached to the back and stop at her shoulder blades, protecting the back of her head. A wing floats behind each shoulder that has similar extensions coming from them, three on each pods. Looking, you can tell that Mairead is taller int he armor, by 3 feet compared to her normal five foot six inches.

As she flies, she is about 100yard a head of the three and her eyes are looking and watching for incvoming craft and/or vehicles. "You three ready for this?" she asks Kagurazaka, Katori and Kashima as she thinks, that she is gonna be sore in the morning...
Nagato     Ryuujou's Onee-San Meter: CRITICAL

"Kyaaa! You're so good!" Ryuujou starts, following Reiji's own and sends her planes a-flying! "I want you in my fleet, little brother." it sounds like she doesn't get much action with the rest of the carriers. Now, with the light carriers planes in the air, sets of fighters for use as scouting and air to air combat with the IS user, Kaga and Akagi pull out a couple of arrows themselves, yellow fletchings. "LIght carrier fighters up. Sending out training aircraft to make initial strafing run." comes Kaga's stern voice as both the Standard Carriers let them loose. IN mid air, a burst of wind forms around them and a small squad, five planes each, start heading towards the three cruisers!

The fighters meet up and get ready by filling the air with small arms fire towards Sandilands as the ten other yellow aircraft try to slip by and make an intercept course towards the three cruisers. With this, Kashima grins, "Kagurazaka, you're up my dear."
Yuna Kagurazaka "As ready as I can be!" Kagurazaka replies to Mairead, splitting some attention back to her radar. She thought she noticed something a moment ago ...

- yes, she did. "Incoming, multiple airbound contacts at 2 o'clock!" she calls out to her allies, almost not hearing Kashima's comment. She turns to face the incoming fighters and elevates her turrets, letting herself coast onwards a little ways ...

Let the planes get just a little closer ...

And with a counterpoint staccato of cannons going off, she launches five shells into the air, fuses timed to detonate in what SHOULD be the heart of the enemy planes' formation and shred them with shrapnel-laden fireballs. She was erring a LITTLE early, probably - it's better to catch the front of a formation of hostile aircraft, so that any explosions force the trailing planes to break off their course, right?

She resumes her course with the other two cruisers while her turrets are reloading; the hand-carried one was the first she fired with, and should be ready to shoot again the soonest.
Mairead Sandilands     Looking at the scanners, Mairead blinks, as she hears the 'Incoming fighters,' as she spots them too on her radio. As she reaches with her left hand to the non-existant bow string. A line of energy forms from top to bottom as she pulls back and a beam bolt forms. "Engaging hostiles," she states as she fires a bolt, then pulls again and another, followed by another and another. A total of five bolts of energy are fired at the fighters as she increases her attitude form 200 feet to match the incoming planes.

"I am picking up two sets. The first and now a second wave coming in low," she mentions and does not want to release Trident just yet. . o 0 (I'll use Ivar for a few more then switch to Loch Rain.) she thinks as she sees Yuna behind and below her and as well as the other two, Katori and Kashima. Although, with Emerald Lady being the only air vehicle, she is gonna be the main target of the enemy units, . o 0 (Means I need to be on my game,) she thinks as she readies for five more shots with Ivar.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa makes a bit of a amused face at Reiji, but gets where he's coming from, she was ust happy to be out and on the water. She gets Reiji's meanint though and she's going to make sure she's got and reiji's own display of skill and power is not lost on herm, but she's now ready to get on the attack as she has her first wave of her forces. She ses the training planes deploy the fighers are running aircover for her bombers. The small fighter craft, fan out while hte bombers are on the hunt for Katori, Kotone gets her objective is the flag ship Katori but running in? Would just get her air wing ripped apart.

Kotone's fighters break formation to evade the opening attack and they start to open fire on mairead shortly after trying to keep her distracted while the bombers press on, and Kotone's notching another fighter arrow, to launch two more fighters to back up the ones that are now dealing with the sky armor lady from Scottland.

Yuna meanwhile has the dive bombers coming in for her trying to weave in and out of the fire she's letting out, one goes out in flames, but the other 2 are still coming for her.
Reiji Arisu Oh God he made her pop.

There's no time to think about that now. The advantage of carrier group is the range and versatility of its fighters and bombers. Once gunships close, it can be... trouble. Reiji's hands twitch-- well, if they get too close, there are things he can do to deal with it, but...

It's best to just not let that happen to begin with, isn't it?

His quiet whispers rise in intensity as the wind's howl grows, swallowing his words. His hands join together, thumbs and knuckles pressed flat against one another. More talismans sweep out from his sleeves and twist freely in the breeze.

An odd sense of... pressure begins radiating from his body.

Does he have a plan, or is this something else entirely?

In the distance, the dive-bombers under his control dart away from intercepting fire. One, two, three go up in flames as shells tear through their light airframes, but the remainder make it through. Bombs fall with whistling whines as Reiji's strike group open up and engage with their primary targets in and around Yuna's position.

The sooner they knock out the enemy's faster ships, the better their position will be!
Nagato     Ryuujou hasn't popped yet, though she keeps sending wave after wave out, "Go! Go! Go!" she shouts at her planes, smiling before doing a wiggle dance as some come back for rearming and refueling, though with some of the wave shot down, she gives each plane a smile as they turn back into paper. "Keep it up, more pressure, more pressure! All you carrier based planes, get to work!" She's getting into the whole thing, turning and smiling to Reiji, "You're doing good!"

Meanwhile, Akagi and Kaga send another practiced wave towards the group. "You need better form, straighten up, arms up when you fire." comes Kaga again, "After this, Akagi will take you to the range and show you proper kyudo. You are being sloppy... but you are doing well." Akagi gives a brief smile before focusing, "Yamakawa, send out a dive bomber wing towards the enemy surface group."

Meanwhile, back at Target Zone Alpha... some of the dive bombers get through the anti air screen but not many. Bombs hit the water and explode, sending up a large wave of water, pushing back the two training cruisers and possibly the Light Cruiser back a bit... but there's also another worry. *Ping... Ping...* and the tell tale sign of a ships worst enemy. Three torpedoes streak along the water from Ryuujou's aircraft... only for the aircraft to all get shot down from the anti air screen. But the payload is still there...
Mairead Sandilands     blinking, Mairead looks, "Damn," she says as she thinks and the bow disappears and a beam broadsword appears, "Have at the," she says as she swoops down and strikes at the three torpedos before pulling up at about a G and moving into close combat with the fighters. Eyeing the bombers, she moves and swings as she dances between them. As she does this, she takes hits that impact the armor and do some damage as the blue three digits count down form 500. Currently the number is dropping at a rate of two digits per hit, which currently sit at (434).

Still, Mairead is happy as she fights, "Now this is better," she says as she moves and strikes, but is still leaving herself open for shots form the ships. Turning, she speaks, "Loch Rain," and a gun phases in and she fires off a shot form the .60 cal heavy shotgun at a set of three planes at a distance. After this, she moves to engage the fighters, bombers and whatever else, and will gladly take shots. "Lasses," she says to Kashima, Katori and Kagurazaka, "If ye need help, let me know," she mentions. "I am working on these planes," she adds as she continues her fighting agaisnt the planes.

The Mitsubishi Ki-51s or Type 99 Fighters are fast, but her IS is faster as Emerald Lady moves with grace and speed.
Yuna Kagurazaka "Evasive!!" Kagurazaka calls out to Kashima and Katori; there's not much else *she* can do about the bombs that were dropped, except to try and shoot one down while she's breaking formation to try and avoid getting blown out of the water. (Which she knows from experience can be WAY too literal, and even if it's not terminal, it *stings* and she'd just as soon avoid getting laid up in the docks again.)

There's one other thing she does, though. There's a torpedo homing in; she kicks one of her own torpedoes out to try and meet it somewhere in the middle, then swings around again. Partly it's to launch another anti-air salvo while she has the chance, but she doesn't want to get too far from her 'fleetmates'.

"Keep up the good work, Mairead," Kagurazaka adds; she really *is* grateful for the air cover. "Actually - once we form back up, maybe the three of us could thin them out for you to pick off the survivors? We're doing it other way around right now, and that might not be the most efficient approach ... it would mean you're covering us less, but if you can do precision targeting better than we can, then you're better equipped to deal with whatever gets through our anti-aircraft barrages."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa still is holding back three of her fightes becausd she does not know what the others in the fight are packing fully. She gets the reports so to speak from her planet and they are enaging Mairead giring away but then comes the bigger firearms are bring fired at them anotehr goes down, and a torpedo bomber is hit, but that's when Kotone's now thinking about launching the second wave. She gets she's got more home work to do on things. She's taking note, she's got some searched filed away to run later. For noe she's taking to mind what's being said.

"Aye aye."

She reaches back for the needed arrows to launch the dive bombers to follow up on the inital attack.

She is enjoying drawing and firing the bow there's an interesting thing to it, one of th oldest tools of war and hunting, while she's about as much machine as daughters orginal forms were. She does seem to be focused but it's clear she is also enjoying this.
Reiji Arisu Pressure. More pressure, she says.

He can do that.

Both hands dedicated to his task, Reiji folds his hands into a tight tangle of knotted bone and knuckle-white flesh. The mantra he whispers builds to a crescendo that deafens even the storm surrounding him. Yet, paradoxically, the talismans surrounding him go stark still and, perhaps just a little ominously, each and every one begins blazing with blue-white light. A single 'aum' peals through the air, sending the swarm of stationary talismans into a rhythmic, pulsing tremor.

Reiji thrusts one hand to the sky, two fingers raised as if he were cutting the clouds. With wordless, silent chop, he lets them fall to gesture at the horizon and the ships between he and it. As a single, enormous swarm, the talismans suddenly surge down the length of the carrier-scroll. They burst into flame, but...

It doesn't fade.

Reiji's eyes burn briefly with the same light, his will flooding into the enchantment infusing the scroll, and now, the talisman-planes. They take off like a flock of incendiary swallows, taking to the sky in a great, fiery horde. A full deployment of planes, shining with raw spiritual power.

Is this... the SOUL OF ARISU!?

Or maybe Reiji's just going a bit overboard on his familiar magic. It's not as though he uses it all too frequently.

Regardless of what exactly he's doing or what resources he's expending to pull it off, the planes, swathed in blue fire, tear out of the sky like little lightning bolts, ablaze with ENCHANTED GUNFIRE and SPIRITFIRE BOMBS.

It looks like he's going all out. But for what reason!?

(Maybe he just wants to see how loudly can make Ryuujou kyaa.)
Nagato     Ryuujou stops. Her focus is not on the battle but on Reiji. She stares, watching intently, looking at the other onmyouji with a twinkle in her eye, Reiji's actions have her rolling up her scroll, tucking away the talismans and slowly sailing closer to him. The moment hasn't gone unnoticed by Nagato, watching the light carrier intently, what was she going to do.

"KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" she shouts, garnering looks from First Carrier Division and some of the watchers on the land. "Little Brother Reiji is so AMAZING! How did you do that! I didn't know you were that good of an onmyouji! You might even be better than Unryuu! I want to give you so much praise, you are amazing, you're so wonderful!" if this was a video game, there would be hearts floating around Ryuujou.

    ... Reiji broke her ...

On land, Mutsu can't hold it in and starts giggling like a mad house while Nagato, back on the sea, has her head in hand, shaking it... this was over. "End sortie." she radios to all forces, sailing towards the group. Akagi and Kaga both nod and loosen their arrow, slipping it back in the quiver before going into a resting stance, the last few planes, at least launched by Ryuujou and First Carrier get shot down by Yuna's anti air fire and Mairead's air superiority.

The torpedoes in the water from before get met with one torpedo from Yuna, which meets right where it needs to and safely blows up. The other two whisk away from Yuna and one actually hits Kashima. Katori is, fortunately, still undamaged from the experience. All in all, a successful run on both sides.

"All ships, meet towards me for the report."
Mairead Sandilands     Mairead looks as the planes are taken down, "aww, is that it?" she asks as she was having fun and hears the radio. "Aye ma'am," she comments to Nagato as she drops and flies escort with the 3 ships she was with, Kashima, Katori and Kagurazaka. As she moves she looks and says nothing as the weapons on her IS phase out and she moves easily as she slows infront of Nagato and stands at attention as she hovers a foot above the water. She does nto look as the rest of the ships move up sicne she is seeing everything around her.

"That was fun," she mentions as she smiles and actually was happy for a change. Asfter the week she had, this was a good change, and it was all due to the Admiral who was like a second mother that did it.
Yuna Kagurazaka Back on shore, there's a pair of ears that twitch very noticeably at Ryuujou's squeeing - but the face beneath those ears just grins, as Xiaomu continues filming as much as she can of Carrier Arisu's exploits. And she's not just using her phone; she brought an actual digital video camera, for better quality.

Okay, so she doesn't get to see Reiji in a skirt or a dress ... but this is still awesome material, and she'll be able to tease him about it for a few months if she's judicious about it.

Meanwhile, Kagurazaka rendezvouses first with Kashima and Katori, grimacing and bowing apologetically over the hit Katori took. Then she (and presumably, the other two) sail over to meet up with Nagato and the others. It may have been generally a successful sortie, but she knows they didn't get a perfect score ...
Haguro      Haguro's been watching the exercise quietly from the launch bay, looking both pleased at the promise shown by both the new and older recruits while also looking a little startled as is her usual expression. All those shells, the explosions... It's still a little unnerving to her. At least the exercise seems to have gone without a hitch, and the Heavy Cruiser moves into position somewhat behind Nagato while waiting for the others to regroup.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa takes a moment to hold out her flight deck as the call goes out that the trianing exercise is over. The suriving pkabns come back and land one by one, turning back into arrows once they have landed, she moves to return them to the quiver and heads back for port. She almost wants to just stay out for a bit to skate across the wave but that wouldn't do, maybbe another time as she skates back towards port hoping she at least passed, and wonders if Rory enjoyed the show.
Reiji Arisu Welp, that just about did it.

At Nagato's order, Reiji lets his hand fall out of its mudra and allows his mantra to come to an end. The planes he deployed abruptly lose their burning wreaths and begin swinging back towards the landing strip-scroll. Soon, they're just an ordinary pile of paper dolls all over again.

He looks to Ryuujou, then, and gingerly bows his bed. "It was nothing, anego. Just the result of a lot of practice," And several generations of careful cultivation of spiritual potential. But that's not anything significant, right?? "And your instruction, of course."

HOW FAR CAN HE PUSH THE GAUGE

"We should probably get to shore soon, though," he says after a minute.
Nagato     Ryuujou's Big Sister Level: [||||||||||]||

Ryuujou just tackles Reiji in a hug from this, a crushing, loving hug from this. "Big sister is the best and I will do everything I can to make sure you're taken care of! You're my little brother carrier now and I'll make sure you go far! Even the Admiral will praise you!" Nagato, however, shakes her head some. "Everyone did well, the training was a success and I am sure with the addition of two light carriers in the fleet, that we will be able to take on any threat.

With this, however, she gives a brief nod, "For everyone's service, I will have Mamiya's prepare her special parfait for you all, you did well and I commend you for your hard work. Dismissed."
