Guest Psyber     As with most people who come to visit Boston, Psyber prefers the first meeting to be down by the harbor. Both for the scenery and because it's easiest to have the ships in particular meet him by the shoreline. So, by the docks and piers of the harbor, the half-angel sits bundled up in his cold-weather clothing, which looks very similar to his normal clothing and just features a ruby-red scarf and a pair of gloves.

One hand is holding two bundles of tinfoil. The other has a steaming cup of coffee in it, which he sips on as he sits on the bench and waits. The weather itself is brisk, bordering on cold, and lightly snowing along the waterline, causing most people to wear heavy coats and hats to avoid getting slightly damp.
Graf Zeppelin      Graf Zeppelin had never been down this way before. When she was a Wo-Class, she mostly stayed underwater, and deployed to select seabound locations when active. A city like this was not something she'd known. But she knew how to follow coordinates, and how to follow directions. Wearing her land fit-out, the German ship skated across the water, approaching the shore at a good clip.

She wore no winter clothing. Just her white military uniform with hat and cape. Whether the cold bothered her or not, she made no indication. Her cold, blue gaze scanned the piers before spotting a man seated at one particular. "......" Silently, she confirmed to herself that he must be the one, and skated over his way. Once she got into talking distance, she spoke in an even, rigid tone.

     "Herr Psyber, I take it?"
Guest Psyber     "Just Psyber is fine if we're not in the field. I'm not someone who's big into formality," Psyber comments to her as he watches the girl skate over to him. His own red gaze meets hers as she speaks to him in that rigid tone. By now, thanks to Wo and Kongou, as well as the Fourth Mobile, most dock workers were at least accustomed to Kanmasu stopping by.

"Welcome to Boston, though," He says, waving around a bit. He stands up and holds out one of the foil packages to her, "Lobster Roll. Local food. Try one," He says, holding it out towards her insistently.

"You needed to talk, right? Come sit down, what's on your mind?"
Graf Zeppelin      "......"

There was a moment of pause as she was told not to bother with formalities. She actually froze, brain processing the possibility of not using a title before his name. Before anyone's name. An internal battle waged for seven hundred years, in the blink of an eye. And finally. "...V-Very well...Psyber." It sounded incredibly awkward.

Hesitantly after that, she managed to settle down enough to have a seat on the pier by the detective. "Boston...that is a citty in America, if I recall." Her knowledge of Boston then, and this Boston were very likely to not line up much at all, but that wasn't something she seemed to be looking to get into. The offered lobster roll is met with a slow, confused blink.

"......" Having no other recourse, the foil wrapped package was taken and set into her lap. "My thanks." Graf Zeppelin muttered softly, her gaze directing towards the sea she came from. She came here to talk, right. But now that she was here...what did she even want to talk about?

A difficult expression found it's way onto the German ship's face and she looked down. "...I have been thinking about what Herr Reiji spoke of last night. ...About the man who sat under the tree and found nothing..." Her eyes averted to the side, and she let a moment pass with silence. "...I wish to take heed of his words, but...I am not sure how to do so."
Guest Psyber     "Reiji's a smart guy, yeah. A bit serious and philosophical, but," Psyber muses as he unwraps his own lobster roll and takes a bite out of the seafood sandwich, "I think you already know that," He considers the point, looking at the carrier girl and looking her over for a bit, as if assessing her as well.

"However, if you wish to take heed of his words, you're in the right place. Both here and Hikari," He looks upwards a bit, breaking his gaze upon her to look skyward, "Hikari is full of interesting people. I think a good first step would be to see if Nagato wants you to work with any of them in particular. That way, you can cross your sense of duty with your intent to socialize."

"Someone like you... I think, I mean. We've only just met..." He adds as a caveat, "Is the kind of person who should ease into new things. So when you can cross over your work with this new experience, it will help you figure out where to start."

He grins at her and then actually switches over to German, "Aller Anfang ist schwer. <All beginnings are hard>." He says to her with a tilt of his head, "So that means anything you do from here will be easier."
Graf Zeppelin      She hesitantly undid the foil wrapping the sandwich in her lap as well, though still didn't bite into it. Instead, she quietly reflected on the words offered by the man nearby. "....." And then another bout doubt sets in. "...Will they really want to work with me however? When I first awakened, on the transport back to Hikari, I told them 'I am not your friend, I am not your ally.'."

Now she looked a bit regretful about it. "I admit, I still cannot bring myself to trust anyone without basis, however...I wish to try. At the very least. As I am now, I will not get anywhere." She sighed lightly. "And that scares me more than anything. I do not...want to be left behind again."

Hearing his statement in German, Graf Zeppelin finally tore her gaze away from the sea, and towards the detective. "......" And after a moment of stark silence, the ends of her mouth edged out into an awkward smile. Barely there, but to someone observant like him, he would be able to see. "...I will make an earnest attempt. Not just at Hikari, but...in general."

And finally, she brought the lobster roll up, and took a bite. She froze.

     "This is...quite good."
Guest Psyber     Psyber laughs, "First time I met Kongou, when she was an Abyssal, she tried to shoot me out of the water. I was on a podunk little speedboat at the time," He tells Graf Zeppelin, musing, "I think they know you were just shocked to be in a new setting. With people you'd never met before, no less," He adds.

"Trusting people, though. That's hard for me too," He admits to her, looking down at his sandwich, "People let you down, people are naturally flawed. That's why it's hard. But they're worth it, I think, at least. And if you give them the chance, I find more often than not, MOST will come through for you." He laughs awkwardly, "But then again, I don't really trust anyone without reason either."

"Glad you like the food, too," He says with a smile, "Maybe that should be your first hobby~. Travelling gourmand."
Graf Zeppelin      Graf blinked. She didn't know that about Kongou. The other kanmusu was so upbat that it tired her out just hearing her. Well, it made sense in a way. But she let it be, and didn't comment on it. Instead, she took another bite of her sandwich and listened to Psyber's musing.

"People have... let me down too often in my time." Was she talking about her previous life as a ship through World War II? But it made sense, given her history. "........" Another bout of silence spent eating, and then she spoke up again. "A hobby...?" That gave her pause, and she looked down at the more than half eaten losbter roll in her hands. "...I...I suppose."

     The Joke.

     Her Head.

After a few more bites, the sandwich was put away, and she stood up, dusting her hands off and rolling up the foil into a ball to throw away later. "You have my thanks for listening to my worries, Herr Ps- I mean...Psyber." That smile she previously had was gone, but she sounded slightly less rigid now. Progress. "I will speak with Admiral Nagato about enlisting in the fleet in an official capacity. And... if you require aid, then I am willing to offer you my services as well. Whenever you should find need of them."
Guest Psyber     "It's no trouble. Sometimes it feels nice to talk to someone who is totally unrelated to your problems so they can give you a new perspective." He says in return, lifting his hand. When she stands up, he pats her on the back a couple times, albeit lightly, "You'll be fine, I think. Don't worry if it takes a long time for you to get used to it, just focus on making progress a day at a time," He says firmly.

And then he gives her a nod, "Nagato should be quite a good person to talk to about joining officially. And if nothing else," He looks at her seriously, "I, at least, won't let you be left behind. So you can come to me about anything."
Graf Zeppelin      "Yes. Thank you." The German ship mumbled, nodding before stepping out onto the water again. She turned to face Psyber, taking in his last few words. There was no change in her expression now. Nothing dramatic or perceptible, but she stayed quiet for a good couple moments, running those words through her mind.

"I am grateful." With that, she turned around and faced the sea. "Bis spater, Herr Psyber. Endeavor to remain safe." And with that, she forged on ahead, skating forward through the water and eventually into the distance. After some time, she brouht a hand to her ear, speaking into the radio.
