Sanary Rondel      Sanary's not showing up unprepared tonight. Not that she's shown up to her friends' rooms unprepared before, but she's definitely not going to let today be her off-day. Thankfully, she's showered several times since yesterday to get the smell of yesterday's mission off, and most of it is gone! She's also changed into a more relaxed t-shirt and shorts outfit while her usual stuff is in the wash, and the scent of fried food and sesame noodles noodles should mask what's still left on her.

Arriving at Alexander Academy with the bag of food in one hand and a backpack full of medical supplies in the other, she clears her throat before knocking on the door lightly and calling out in a softer tone than she normally speaks in.

"Lina? It's Sanary. Are you okay in there?"
Lina Brand     Inside the dorm room sits a Ranger curled up on the bed, knees in her face... "The door's open..." she mutters out, loud enough to hear outside the door. Across the wall sits Lina's bow in a holder, her quiver under it, a bloody dagger and a bloody arrow, all dried up on it. There's a trash can full of wadded up tissues and some papers on the desk obviously tear stained. The bed's quite a mess too with some blood spots on it from some of Lina's own wounds.

"Sanary?" Lina takes a sniff of the air, food that she hasn't smelled before. "I'm sorry my room's a mess, but come in... there's... a chair near the desk..."
Sanary Rondel      Opening the door, Sanary's careful not to make any sudden moves, and she raises her free hand to wave at Lina lightly before shutting the door behind her. "Hey, Lina. Don't worry about it. My room's pretty bad, too." She offers the Ranger a reassuring smile while pulling a chair over, then offers the bag to Lina. Fried chicken, vegetable spring rolls, and sesame noodles are all contained in their own little containers inside that bag, and the first two are still quite crispy!

"So.. Uh. Good work with yesterday's mission." She grins again, then pauses for a moment before shifting over to the bed and offering her arm to Lina. "... You ever do it before?"
Lina Brand     Lina looks up a bit and turns towards Sanary as she enters, a brief smile upon the Ranger's face. When the bag's offered, she opens it and takes out a couple of the packages and inhales the scent... the food's scent masking the scent of the dried blood. "This looks delicious..." she whispers, only to set it aside and take the arm... shaking her head no. "No... that. That was my first time. Maybe second if you count Vega's incident." she gives a sniffle, a tear dropping from her eye.

"They wanted me to kill her, Sanary... a Hume... someone like you and me..." she looks away and coughs, "I... I haven't killed anything that wasn't a monster before... and I am not sure if I even killed her..."
Sanary Rondel      "It is. I bring it to Xiao's lab every time I go down since she kinda.. Forgets to eat if I don't." Chuckling lightly, Sanary quiets down to listen as Lina speaks of her lack of experience in even attempting to kill. Even if it's something that's started to come naturally to the cleric, that doesn't mean she can't still feel some sympathy for her.

"That's how it is with people like us... In the war, I mean. It gets easier after the first four or five, but since it sounds like you still haven't yet?" She pauses, some recollection flashing in her eye. "... Don't rush into it. There's other ways to fight, too, if you don't mind your enemies not always being willing to return the favor."

With her other hand free now, Sanary weighs her options before moving it over gently to try and bring Lina's head closer to her chest to cradle it lightly if possible. It's a risk, considering the girl's current state, but... Well, it worked back home. Maybe it'd work here, too. "Shooting the legs, taking out their weapons... Depends on how much you wanna risk."
Lina Brand     "I didn't sign up for the war..." she whispers, the Ranger sets the food to the side as she's pulled into Sanary's chest... and she just cries. "I'm... I'm not... wanting to kill anyone." she whispers between choking through tears, "Sanary... I don't want to kill anyone..." then when the suggestions are made, she gives a brief nod, "I... I can do that with my... my aim abilities. And I have sleep magic too." a pause, "it... it doesn't work on me." she pulls back, wiping her eyes some and shakes her head...

"I'm sorry for that, Captain..." she gives a light sigh and leans back against her wall, reaching for the food box again, taking a good nom from it. "It's delicious... Thank you."
Sanary Rondel      Although Sanary considers asking more questions regarding the first revelation, it probably won't help much right now. Instead, she just keeps hugging Lina's head for as long as she needs, patting her back and ruffling her hair lightly while sitting in place as a firm chest to cry on.

"Let it out if you need to. Mm... Hey. Don't be sorry. You didn't do anything wrong." Once Lina does move back, the healer offers her another sympathetic grin before reaching up to adjust her eyepatch. "Plus, now we know what you need to practice more of, then. Sleep magic, aiming better, shooting harder."

There's a satisfied grin on her face when Lina reacts well to the food, and Sanary cricks her neck lightly while tapping a finger to her chin. After a moment, she turns back to Lina with a more concerned look on her face. "But... You know your enemies might not fight the same way, right? Are you ready for them to try and kill you even if you're not willing to do the same? to them?"
Lina Brand     "Sleep works... on others, Sanary... just not when I try using it on myself." she stuffs her face with more food, it's better than bawling now... but when Sanary makes that mention.. "Then. I will jsut have to keep them away. Aim: Leg to slow them down, Aim: Arm to disarm them, Aim: Head to confuse them... Snakebite to poison them, Blackout to blind them. Vanish to hide... Then... Quake and Blizzara to create a dangerous patch of ice on the ground..." she looks away a bit, "But that's for those melee..."

She thinks a moment, "I don't have much in the way to guard against bullets or the like, even Protect didn't help much... Haste didn't help me dodge either... And Comet seemed weak when I tried to double cast it..." she gives a sigh, "I might have to go visit the Time Mages...."
Sanary Rondel      "That's... Mm. Sleep's the tricky part, yeah. I usually just get tired from training or missions to just knock me right out." Sanary strokes her chin again, tempted to take some food for herself. She behaves, though, since she could always grab some outside afterwards. She listens carefully to those descriptions of Lina's abilities, although the Ranger does get a raised eyebrow at the mention of Aim: Head.

"I think I'd be more worried than confused if I got shot in the head with an arrow." The cleric chuckles for a moment, then coughs awkwardly upon remembering that that exact thing happened a little more than a year ago. Instead, she focuses on the topic of how to shore up Lina's weaknesses!

"Bullets are tricky. It kinda sucks... Less if you get used to getting hit by 'em, but that only goes so far. Armor might help, but that might be heavy if you're not used to wearing the thicker stuff. Healing..." She gives Lina an inquisitive look. "You used healing magic the last time I got banged up, right? What about that... What's it called. Regen? It won't stop the pain, but it might help you ignore the grazing shots for a little while."

A pause, and then... "... Or I could train you to get buff enough that armor doesn't weigh you down too much."
Lina Brand     "Light armor is something that lets me move around better, I'm not sure if heavier armor will restrict my Vanish ability or not..." she thinks a moment, looking towards Sanary. "Yeah, Regen. It's a time mages healing tool. I also have access to Cure and Cura too for emergency healing." she gives a bit of a thought, thinking, "The armored Archermage... I would like to try that, Sanary..." she gives a brief smile, looking towards the axe-woman. "Ah, Sometimes it silences opponents too, so it's not all that bad."

She leans back, offering some of the brought food back, "Here, I can't eat all of this myself, I'd lose my figure..." heh, "Maybe I should try carrying a firearm and another melee weapon too... my dagger only does so much..."
Sanary Rondel      "Light armor works, too. Or even smaller shields that you can wear on your arm." Sanary grins widely as Lina comes to her own conclusions regarding whatever the Archermage is, nodding in approval at the girl. "There ya go. Between the extra armor and Regen, you should be able to handle bullets a little better once you get used to fighting in pain."

Flashbacks of shooting herself with a shotgun just to see. Not a fun time, but at least it was in the Field of Trials instead of somewhere worse.

"You sure? 'cause..." She takes a moment to look Lina over, then shrugs. "You look good already. But if you are..." Sanary's not about to turn down a chance to eat more fried food, though, and she gladly snags a springroll and chicken chunk for herself. "Extra weapons... Could help. I'd recommend a shield, at least, even if it's a small one. And... As boring as they are, swords can be pretty useful."
Lina Brand     Lina thinks a moment, leaning against the wall a bit as she ponders a couple things, "That would almost need a full retraining of my abilities, but... I think I can try to work in some heavier armor. Leathers don't do much now a days..." she gives a bit of a sigh, looking towards Sanary. "So you'll help me with the heavy armor? And maybe some sword and shield training?" she gets a bit more of a hopeful look, "Maybe I can learn your fighting style from your world too!"

"What kind of magic do you have there? Black? White? Something new? And weapons? Do you use bows too?" It seems Lina's spirits are a bit higher now, "Perhaps... no... let's do this training, Captain... And I hope I can do missions without having to worry about killing someone." a pause, "Maybe I can have Xiao make me some saw arrows to de-limb someone..."
Sanary Rondel      "Ah, lighter armor's still good for some things. Being able to move a lot more easily, for one. Should show you the Lagombi armor, actually..." Sanary chuckles lightly, although there's an inquisitive look on her face as she turns back to Lina. "Why not just do... Uh. Both? It's not like you're gonna forget what you've learned already, right?"

And then her face just lights up at being asked to help with training. "Oh, I'll help you however you need with that. I mean, I probably won't be the best trainer compared to one of the better fighters, and my technique's not as good as a lot of other Confederates, but... I'll try!" She's looking almost excited about getting the chance to teach basic combat techniques again. That last part does sober her up again, though, and she reaches over to give Lina another pat on the arm.

With her non-greasy hand, even. "Only one that can figure that out is you. Just gotta be ready for anything that might happen if you stick to it, good or bad."
