Fiora Laurent The Rift.

The most famous of the League's Fields of Justice. One that has seen countless battles, to settle disputes large and small, similar to the one to be settled today. Long ago, this place was a battlefield in a real war, between two groups of mages during the destructive Rune Wars that the League was established to abolish. The scars of this war still linger, despite how serene the battleground might seem. Located in a remote forest in the wilds of the Freljord, near the Ironspike Mountains, the ruins of the two mage war camps remain and are still used to this day. Two massive leylines still run strongly here, allowing the battlefield to replenish itself almost endlessly.

Those chosen to fight, however, report first to the League itself, a place several hundred miles away, where they are then transported to the Rift by the League's summoners. Piltover's champions find themselves on the 'blue' side of the Rift, with Zaun's on the 'red'. There's a stillness that hangs in the air. It is clear, this place is very, very old. And as if to welcome the combatants, a voice echoes through the valley that forms the surrounding battleground.

"WELCOME.. TO SUMMONER'S RIFT."
Ezreal     Summoner's Rift. It's almost like a second home to some champions, and Ezreal has spent many a battle on this field himself. He knows that this conflict in particular is of great importance to his home city-state of Piltover, and thus he knows that his summoning into battle is inevitable. So here he is. He adjusts his gauntlet and dusts himself off, the amulet on the back of his hand shining with arcane energy as he readies himself. The voice of the announcer booms across the landscape, and Ezreal seems to relax at the sound. This was his normal field of combat, and he knows his opponent almost too well.

    Jinx.

No doubt the girl of chaos and guns was on Zaun's roster for tonight. He's braced for it. He seems almost eager to get to fighting.
Jinx     Well if you wanted a motivated Champion on the Rift today, you've got it in Jinx. While not /precisely/ from Zaun she's got plenty of friends there, and she'd be remiss to let them down. That being said, there's a measure of trepedation in her stance asshe is teleported to the battlefield and does her pre fight checks and purchases. She looks around at the others with her. Mihk was coming and some other Elite she hadn't met before. She wasn't sure who the last two Champions would be. She hadn't seen on the way in.

They were going to win, and she was going to carry them all.
Mihk Lihzeh     "Intriguing."

Those are the only words out of Mihk's mouth as the Summoners deploy her to the battlefield. "Very intriguing magic." she adds, then begins her own summoning magic. Opening her tome, she places a red gemstone in the center of a two-page magic seal, and begins to write with glowing ink upon the parchment. "Power of Wind, heed my call. Upon this parchment I sign a contract, and by its power bind thee to my will. Come forth, Carbuncle!" Speaking the contract, she picks up the gemstone as it begins to glow, and tosses it into the air before her. Around it, coalesces a blue fox-like construct of Aether. "It amazes me that the Aetheric Flow still lingers even here... A testament to how bound to this Multiverse my home is now." she muses, stooping to pet her familiar before the battle begins.

She turns to Jinx, and offers a nod. "I shall endeavour to support you, Miss Jinx." she says, moving to the guntoting woman's side, her Carbuncle following obediently. "Heel. Obey." she states down to it, which it squeaks softly in response.
Gaonoir The machinations of Gaonoir's 'master' would certainly fit in with the Zaun... but really the Digimon was just here because someone wanted him to fight, and that's what he does really well. Not to mention after the last big compatition he was kind of bored, since his so-called rival has seemingly disappeared off the face of the Multiverse.

The black canine makes sure his bandana is on straight. Someone might mistake him for a weird black yordel if they didn't look too closely. "Just point me at who you want to get the bits punched out of."
Kirito     When Kirito appears, it's as his avatar, naturally. A skinny young man with almost feminine facial features and delicate hands, he doesn't look at all like the champion swordsman of his reputation. Far too young. Far too bright eyed and busy-tailed. Far too casual about this whole thing, maybe.

"hoooooh. The battle's a serious competition alright. Hopefully nothing too lethal." He's not of a mind to kill anyone. It's one line he doesn't cross whenever it's avoiable... and the idea that people are killing each other on these battlefields over a war-substitute is silly.

A pair of swords rest in crossed sheaths attached to his back. One is black, the other a crystal blue. Nothing special-looking. No insane magical auras. Overall he looks... well, perhaps too plain, over in the blue half with his arms folded and a somewhat troubled look in his eyes.

It's the look of a complete newbie, honestly.

Someone else on the blue side may want to fill him in. Or else...

Things could get interesting on the field!
Fiora Laurent     Indeed, some combatants see the Rift as a second home. A place they know quite intimately. For Fiora, this holds true. Sword drawn, she nods to the others before heading on her way to the northernmost path. "Good luck to you all. Fight well." With those words, she takes off at a brisk pace, which seems to be hastened by some sort of magic the moment she steps off the summoning platform. Indeed, this is the case for everyone, who will find their steps light and easy, at least until it wears off.

For Kirito, the central path lies open. Or, there's the forest between all of the seperate paths themselves. The choice, for the moment, is his. For Gaonoir, whose choice is the same. Up the middle, or into the forest. Jinx and Mihk, staying together, have the southernmost path to themselves. In the case of the Zaunites, there is an additional body on their platform. A hulk of a man, who's carrying a huge battle-axe in one hand, as easily as someone might carry around a stick. He has the air of someone who has done this countless times, and without saying a word, strides off to the northern path.
Ezreal     While Ezreal know his direct opponent well, he has no idea who will be accompanying her into the lane. However, he does know his own back-up, and once his purchases are made, he smirks over at her. "Alright," he says, "Let's go. Lemme know if you all get someone weak and I can finish them off, alright?" With that, he turns and sprints off, his speed increased by both the force that propels Fiora and another force exuded by the one following him. Dressed in white and gold, Janna Windforce matches Ezreal's pace with ease, floating past him in a hurry. Her blonde hair seems to defy gravity, and her billowing split-skirt flows to the winds under her command. "Let us go, Ezreal, and see what awaits," she says, her voice laced with a breathiness that supports her wind avatar status. He grins, running as fast as he is able.

"We've got bot lane," he says, "No worries."
Kirito     "hhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....." Go straight down the central path or take a winding trail through the forest? Well, there's something to be said of the sneak approach... but another for the direct. Kirito's confident in his mastered 'Scanning' skill - someone getting the drop on him with stealth is going to be tough with the way he's scanning about.

So he just decides to go jogging down the central path without even drawing a sword, grinning a little goofily.

He's in the mood for a CHALLENGE.

This approach does probably come off simpleminded, but on the other hand...

What kind of guy would just go charging down the middle lane without even readying a weapon? A total noob or... something really scary?
Gaonoir Gaonoir watchs the huge man in armor wall off one way to do his duty with nothing excess to say, which just reminds him of Omegamon. And the guy looks to be just as tough, too. He turns his head the other way to watch Jinx and the cat-woman go off into the lower lane. Shrugs his shoulders a little. The whole 'lane' thing seems like a weird way to fight a battle, but who is he to complain about getting a fight.

The digi-dog looks down the remaining lane for a moment, then snorts softly and darts off. Straight down would be too obvious, and being the sort of predator that has no problem using sneaky tactics, it's not all that surprising he opts to dart into the forest edging the paths instead of taking the clear path....
Jinx     Jinx looks over at Mihk and grins broadly. "Arilght, you. Just follow my lead. Here's your job. Pipsqueak is going to be down there with someone, probably Mute or Breezy. All you have to do is harass the hell out of them and keep them off of me while I blow up the Minions and get to their tower. Got it?" She winks at the Miq, and trots off towards lane, whirring up Pow Pow as she goes.

    "LET'S DO THIS."
Mihk Lihzeh     "Mihk Lihzeh. Though I am sure you will produce some inante nickname." she replies haughtily, but sets off after Jinx with all the rapidity of someone who knows what they're doing... which is pretty quick, honestly.

Carbuncle remains at her heel, scampering along as Mihk readies a spell. "Power of Stone, heed my plea, grant thy power to protect my ally and me." She casts a minor version of Protect. It'll help negate some direct physical damage coming in, but won't help much against Magical attacks. Since she waited until now, Darius and Gaonoir won't benefit, but Jinx will.
Fiora Laurent     With the roles mostly chosen, the Blue team's jungle ambusher makes her appearance. Let's just say Jinx might not be pleased, when she comes knocking. More on that development, later. For now, there's the opponent Kirito finds, once he reaches the clearing in the middle of the lane he's chosen. From here, he can see the first of the opposing team's towers. A large statue, much like the one that's behind him, but with a red crystal set in the staff the statue is holding, as opposed to blue.

And, well. His opponent is /very/ strange, indeed. Naught but a single, large eyeball with tentacles, really. An armor shell around it, but not much else. The being's eye regards him with a mix of interest and revilement, before it.. speaks. The voice is an echoing thing, that doesn't seem to come from any sort of mouth.

"Interesting. A new subject, for dissection. Let us see what you are.. made of."
Fiora Laurent     One would imagine that Fiora is facing down her own opponent, before that voice makes another announcement. "MINIONS HAVE SPAWNED." As this suggests, miniature little creatures, some dressed like soldiers and others like wizards, march down each lane and ignore the champions to whose side they belong. On the contrary, they seem to ignore everything that isn't an enemy minion, mindlessly hacking at one another with axes, and blasting away with their magic staves, respectively. The moment any of them stray too close to one of the large towers? There's a loud hum, before a laser of sorts projects from the crystal at the top of it, and fires a powerful blast of arcane energy at the offending minion, usually vaporizing it where it stands, though some of the more durable ones require a couple hits.
Kirito     There are monsters, then there are MONSTERS.

    Then there's... that thing.

kirito finds a hand going to the hilt of his main black sword - Vox Unitas - before he otherwise blinks. That's what just SEEING a thing like this one does to him!

A mostly empty, vaaaaguely bewildered stare is returned.

It's a TALKING EYE. A very civil talking eye.

And yet, Kirito draws the sword and steps forward into a battle stance!

Only the appearance of Minions tromping around breaks his fixation.

"Sorry, I don't have enough time to waste on things like that. So... OUT OF THE WAY!"

It happens lightning fast. one moment Kirito's standing there, the next... WHOOOOOOOSH. Closing the distance and aiming to strike once at the GIANT EYE GUY.

    Just once. A warning strike!
Ezreal     Minions have spawned. Ezreal has no need to say anything to Janna at this point, though he does. "I have a feeling that Jinx won't be with another Champion, Janna. Be ready for anything. She has... a lot of strange allies." The wind avatar nods, staff drifting to her side. "This is not my first battle," she says, "Though it is an important one. I will be ready." He shrugs, then waits for the minions. Minions are gold and also a shield, so trying to engage Jinx and Minh without them would be suicidal on his part.

He does toss out a Mystic Shot toward the opposing tower, though. Just to check.
Jinx     Jinx feels the buff swat into her as she trots her way out to the River and grins over her shoulder at Mihk. "Well you can't be Kitty cause that's Kat. I'll think of something. Just uh. Don't ever call Darius anything other than Darius. Or Sir. Uh. Don't ask me why I know this."

There's a touch of color on her ears as she shakes out her head, braids swaying...
And therethey are. Ezreal and Janna. "HEYA PIPSQUEAK. HIiiiiiiiiii Breezy, how's being a turbohippy been?" She swats Fishbones in the casing and cheers, launching off rockets at the minion wave.
Mihk Lihzeh     Mihk adjusts her glasses a little. "I see." she remarks, then steps forward as Jinx begins firing. Her ears flatten at the sheer noise coming from her companion, but that doesn't stop her from performing her duty.

Opening her tome, she begins incanting softly under her breath, she then throws her hand forward, and a choking smog of Miasma blankets the hostile Minion wave, slowing them and causing damage as they remain in the cloud. The cloud also lingers, making a hazard to cross the open space between the Towers. It doesn't affect her allies, including the 'friendly' Minions, however.
Gaonoir     Gaonoir may be stalking through the area to the side of the lane, but he's got his sharp senses on what's going not far off. The... creature that could give Deathmon a run for its money in creepy one-eyed monster territor has come across one of the other Champions or whatever they called them. Minions are fighting minions. Which is good, the rank and file he doesn't see a need to stoop down to fighting...

And then the enemy turrent opens fire, vaporizing several of the little mooks and wounding the tougher ones. Mihk wasn't kidding about those being dangerous.

Abruptly the shadow dog bursts out of the jungle, but instead of getting involved in the fighting between mooks and towers or Kirito and Eye-Guy, he tries to use it for a diversion and takes off for the enemy's side of the lane. Get some ground while everyone else is busy.
Ezreal     As Jinx and her ally show up, Ezreal falls back a little bit, the miasma catching him a bit off guard. He responds as he would to Cassiopeia's poison and stays away, firing arcane bolts through it toward the minion wave to thin it out. He feels good about having Janna at his back now, as a tornado blasts through the miasma fog in an attempt to clear it off and, maybe, grab one of the two laners as it pops minions into the air briefly. "Turbohippy," Janna replies in her ethereal tone, "What a clever word for it." Ezreal rolls his eyes, then fires another Mystic Shot, aiming for a gap between minions to hit Jinx. He can feel the heat of her rockets washing over him, singing his skin. "This won't be like last time, Jinx," he says, "I'm going to win. Can't have Zaun making Piltover look bad!"
Jinx     Zap. Zap. Jinz ccan feel the arcane energy from Ezreal pelting at her skin as the bolts wash through the wave from time to time, welts appearing on her skin. But she's got an extra minion to help out this time. She weaves a bit through the ranged and Melee, sticking close to Carbunkle as well, the glowing Summon offering a good tanking friend for her. Not /quite/ 3 on 2, but it's a welcome addition.

That said, she frowns a bit at the tornado that swats at her skin, and counters with a big old handful of chomper grenades. "EAT THIS!"
Mihk Lihzeh     Mihk shields her face as the tornado whips through, dispersing the Miasma readily enough. It dissipates into nothing, the Aether holding it returning to normal. As the rotating funnel comes bearing down on the Arcanist, though, the small, blue glowing familiar leaps forwards, and with a growl that sounds more like a dogs chewtoy being squeezed, it unleashes a counter blast of Wind magic to dispel the spinning squall.

Mihk herself begins to focus magic again, Aether flowing into her Tome. Ezreal's flinging bolts of energy? She can do the same! She waits for an opening in the Minion Wall, and then unleashes a seething bolt of unaligned Aether at Ezreal. If it should hit, this bolt explodes into a blinding, harmful flash of light, like a Flashbang grenade, but a bit more deadly!
Fiora Laurent     Meanwhile, in top lane, Fiora and Darius are.. playing a careful and measured duel. As of now, only the minions are suffering for it, as both are playing quite conservatively. She has managed to riposed that gigantic axe a couple times, and has wounded Darius accordingly. Likewise, he's taken advantage of his weapon's reach to do the same. Being who he is, not much is spoken between them. But neither is near their tower, at any rate.

Nothing seen of the Blue team's jungler, just yet. Perhaps that's for the best? Kirito charges, but this early in the match, is perhaps ill advised. The creature doesn't seem phased. While he does get a hit in, the laser siging on that tower promptly switches focus onto Kirito himself. Vel'koz is more than happy to back off a bit, the sword having struck part of his tentacle. One of those arcane blasts is heading Kirito's way, in the meantime, all while the floating eyeball's tentacles glow. He slings a blast of violet energy at Kirito's feet, causing the ground beneath them to erupt upwards. Several of the minions unfortunate enough to be nearby get disintegrated.

Gaonoir, charging into the Blue team's half of the Rift does actually manage to encounter their jungler, and likely the one he'll be dueling around with. Of course, he does this by actually stepping on her. The creature, having been burrowed partly underground, erupts from underneath it and lets out a violent series of screeches and growls, a pair of large clawed talons and a set of jaws snapping and slashing at him. She's definitely the territorial sort.
Ezreal     Ezreal is ready for the chompers, or so he thinks. He blinks, vanishing in a shower of golden sparks, reappearing a short distance away with his gauntlet aimed at Jinx. He manages to fire off a quick shot, before pain rushes through his lower leg. He roars out, then looks down.

He shifted right onto a chomper. Son of a...!

He growls, then is blasted back by Mihk's Ruin spell, the light blinding him before he feels a rush of wind around him. Janna's shield dispels a bit of the burning from the combined attack, and he smirks as he collects himself. "I don't have to see you to hit you!" he calls, before he launches a Mystic Shot toward Mihk's last known location. As his vision clears up, he falls behind his own minion line, limping a bit as he repositions.

Janna, for her part, seems surprised to see that her tornado is stopped. "What an interesting creature," she muses, before another whirlwind whips up. This time, however, it just sits there. As it does, the gentle sound of wind grows into a roaring gale, centered on the cyclone rapidly gaining strength.
Gaonoir     Almost literally does Gaonoir trip over an opponent as she rips her way out of the ground just as he's stepping on her. The upshoot is enough to toss him tumbling off to the side. He rolls with hitting the ground, coming up in a crouch as he looks back up at ... that. "... And I thought some Digimon were ugly." Which probably doesn't help her already irrate mood as Rek'sai lunges at him.

Gaonoir backflips away from the snapping jaws and hops a few times, until one of the clawed limbs manages to swipe him and topple the digimon over again. His own fault for running off on his own.

Quickly he scrabbles back onto his paws, turns with clenched gloves, and moves as if to charge back at her... only to disappear? Not quite, as he's actually using his abilities to briefly jump into the larger creature's shadow, and then out of it again to launch a flying uppercut at what looks like it passes for her head. "SHADOW UPPER!"
Jinx     Jinx.... /hears/ the scream, and instinctivly looks around for a burrow, stepping more than a few steps backwards and tripping over a minion. Unfortunately, that gets her on her back long enough for one of those shots from Ez to connect an-

And it catches her in the throat, scorching her flesh and casting her to the ground in a muddy splat. She's slow to get up, and looking for cover again, pulling out her stun pistol to lob shots over at the river. Why is she so scared of the corners of her vision?
Kirito     Okay THIS IS BAD. Kirito hears the sizzling arcane energies gathering and sees the glow just in time to go FULL ALERT. Vel'koz's withdrawal is all the warning needed for the Black Swordsman to take critical action. Teeth clenched and concentration hitting full steam he draws his single weapon back and across his body. Emerald light and winds gather with JUST the right timing-- "HUAP!"

He steps forward, blade rocketing into a smooth diagonal slash. It looks terribly simple, but the enchanted slash collides with the Turret's arcane blast. Sparks fly for the brief moment of contact and-- WOOOOSH!

Toff the blast goes, redirected into the trees.

Hopefully someone doesn't get with that. Oh well.

Unfortunately this motion leaves him pretty vulnerable to the MAGIC BLAST Kirito wasn't expecting from his actual foe. "Oh crap--"

Momentarily paralyzed by the Slant sword skill, he's helpless when the earth rebels upon him and slams into his gut, knocks him right off his feet and stumbling backwards!

"Ghhh..." But he takes this in stride. The impact does leave some weird red marks on his body, though they're slowly fading. He leans backward and turns the impact to his advantage to back flip a few times.... landing solidly on his feet!

"Should have expected magic from a floating eye! Never seen anyone with a body like yours in reality before... how... how do you EAT like that...?!"

The boy blurts, apparently not at all against some battlefield banter as he weighs his options.

Kirito's gaze sweeps rapidly back and forth. He's saving a few aces up his sleeve, but everything hinges on that tower... and that eye.

He might have an idea here after all!
Mihk Lihzeh     Mihk holds her arms across her face as she's sniped back by Ezreal. Being a caster, she can't really move when casting, and thus, she's a sitting duck when she's attacked directly. The magical blast sears at her robe sleeves, burning at her arms and making her hiss angrily... like a cat. She bares her teeth back at the archeologist and his windspirit ally, and changes her target.

Carbuncle charges forward as Mihk commands: "Sic." it squeakgrowls, and scampers forth, flinging wind-based spells at the wind spirit. This is followed up with a trifecta from Mihk herself. Another Ruin blast, this one missing the blinding element to save on her stamina, a layered in quickfire spell that causes the body to spontaneously manifest harmful poisons by itself, and a final nail in the 'coffin' an Aetheric Virus that eats away at magical and physical resistances!
Fiora Laurent     Kirito is probably lucky his sword didn't straight up break. The towers are drawing from whatever leylines have kept this place alive, for so long. Deflected or no, not all of the energy disipates the way he might've liked it to, and his armor is still scoured from the immensely powerful blast. Nevermind the fact that Vel'koz himself isn't exactly standing there, watching him be awesome. The huge eye glows and the creature's tentacles rip open portals, that open like wounds along the ground, burning at whatever touches them. Then energy erupts from them, and they vanish, the minions that Kirito had pushing with him turned to ashes. "You talk far too much. Most creatures on this plane do. Especially when they're being dissected. In fact, pain seems to increase the noise." That's about the extent of the reply Kirito gets.

Gaonoir's wrestling with the Queen of the Xer'sai goes about as well as you might expect. He slugs her in the head, but she rolls back with the blow and thrashes out with those taloned claws and her tail, arcs of void energy tearing through the air as the creature snarls, and burrows into the ground again, heading into the Red team's jungle, where Gaonoir had just emerged from. She's disengaged for now, but she's also nowhere to be seen, now. Just a chittering, clicking sound that rumbles through the ground, around the area.
Ezreal     Ezreal draws to his full height as Jinx panics, firing his pistol toward the river. He doesn't blame her at all: Rek'Sai is a terror, both in general and on the Rift. It's only natural for her to be worried. However, he takes advantage of this distraction to thin out the minion wave so he can line himself up. All of a sudden, he blinks, reappearing off to the side and slinging a golden bolt of magic toward Jinx. He follows it with another Mystic Shot, before a small spiral of golden orbs follows that out. "Wake up, Jinx!" he calls, "Don't think about what's coming. You should focus on what's here!"

Unfortunately, as Ezreal tries to blast at Jinx, poor Janna is under assault. The Carbuncle draws the majority of Janna's counterfire, gusts of wind aiming to pelt the creature as it launches wind spells her way. Her Gale rushes forward at last, the cyclone aiming to knock the Carbuncle aside so she can focus on Mihk herself. Before that can happen, though, Janna is blasted, pushing her back before the ailments begin. The wind avatar goes pale, free hand going to her face as she tries to concentrate. After a long moment, a shield appears around her, though it doesn't seem to last long. Green particles start flowing from Janna as she beats a retreat, a healing potion quaffed in order to try and stave off the assault as she tries to return to her fountain. Unfortunately, she's not quite under turret protection as the recall spell starts. And after that, she's not doing well! It seems to be an oversight on her part, but it's one that can be taken advantage of.
Kirito     Seeing this development and jarred by that partly deflected shot, Kirito both grunts disgustedly at Vel'koz and... is struck with a sudden idea. He'd seen the tower shots. They had a homing property.

Getting close to this guy on the ground seems unlikely. He's got all those magic blasts and weirder things. Portal magic? Kirito narrows his eyes...

"Uweh... definitely not going to let anyone who hired you win!"

It doesn't take long for the gamer in him to internalize the FIRING RATE of those turrets, or other cues about how they fire. Whatever fraction of a second it is... he grins.

And starts sidestepping, angling things just right... and steps into the turret's range? What?

Then it happens. Translucent black wings form from nothing, stylish fairy wings with a dragonfly-like aesthetic. They vibrate to MAXIMUM SPEED and send him on a WILD trip forward, a shockwave kicking up dust in his wake. Dust that will make it pretty hard to see.

But he hits the ground skidding and swings around his side, timing it as best he can. The few lightning slashes he unleashes are a complete feint meant to distract Vel'koz!

... Distract him from the magical shot that's hopefully headed straight for his back.
Gaonoir     Gaonoir lands after his attack and puts his gloved paws back up, but it's not enough to block the tail slamming into him. At best it defers some of the potential damage, but the impact is still enough to send him toppling backwards. By the time he's back on his feet the creature is tunneling off. He grimaces a bit. There's a few cracks in his 'skin' from the blows, showing the inky blackness of the Dark Digitron composing his form.

As a hunter himself, he knows that can mean a few things. 1) she felt threatened and backed off to find a situation more in her favor. 2) trying to lead him into such a compromising position. 3) detected a better or easier threat.

Both the first and the last would be terrible circumstances for his teammates, so Gaonoir opts to bravely risk the potential of the second option to give chase, running back into the jungle after Rek'sai. He can't see her directly because she's tunneling, but with his dog-like senses and tracking skills, and the rumbling and snarling she's making, he might still be able to pick up on her before she gets a chance to settle back into another ambush.
Jinx     Jinx is, unfortunately, not locked in a wizard's duel with Janna. She's stunned and concussed on the ground and easy pickings as Ezreal saunters over and blasts her into the dirt.

    FIRST BLOOD!

Jinx lets out a little hurk, bleaugh, and goes limp.

Also eat minion aggron, Ez. Hope you've got some Flash left.
Mihk Lihzeh     Carbuncle squeaks, and is blasted aside, slamming into a tree trunk and going limp, before evaporating into motes of light. The red gemstone floats up, and returns to the Arcanist, who pockets it for the moment. She presses her advantage on Janna, seeing the Wind Spirit flagging quickly under her assault. She charges up another spell, and unleashes another cloud of miasma, this time focussed and condensed around Janna herself. With that in place, she gathers Aetheric energy and, with a flash in her mismatched eyes, speaks a single word. "Fester." A wave of energy casts off of the Miqo'te, and reinforces the extant afflictions, spurring them on and causing them to get worse, fast.

As Jinx falls Mihk suddenly finds herself one-on-one with someone far out of her league. The Miqo'te turns tail and runs back to the protection of her own side turret, tossing a single spell over her shoulder, another Bio to try and slow Ezreal down a bit.
Ezreal     Ezreal pumps his non-gauntleted fist as he puts Jinx down. Unfortunately for him, though, he's not gonna be able to blink away from this one. When he shifted earlier, to try and dodge the chompers?

That was the summoner using a Flash spell. And since he just Arcane Shifted to kill Jinx...

Janna is almost home free! The circles are closing in. She's gonna get away! Nope. Miasma says no way, and Janna finds herself choking in the smog. She tries to summon her strength and clear the air around her, but the Fester comes through and causes her to double over. Her vision blacks out, and her feet hit the ground for the first time in a long time.

She's gone before the rest of her hits the dirt.

Ezreal is running for his life in the opposite direction, as it happens, body beaten by minion attacks. He's still up, but he's in very bad shape as he gets back behind his minion wave. He keeps running, but he feels Mihk's next spell seep into him, closing his eyes as everything takes its toll. He pitches forward, hitting the dirt right next to Janna's lifeless body.

    DOUBLE KILL.
Fiora Laurent l'koz is.. surprised by this tactic, but more in the sense that he's wondering why this new champion is attempting something so foolish. Well, he's been at this long enough, that he has his own trick up his.. tentacles. Kirito might hope that the blast from the tower might hit the void creature, but it simply phases through him. And keeps heading right at him. Injured by the attack, certainly.. Vel'koz is bleeding.. But that huge eye lights up quite brightly, and his three tentacles all start channeling energy. His tentacles each fire a beam, that merges with an even larger one that the creature shoots out of his pupil.

The Life Form Disintegration Ray is an aptly named ability. That, and a tower blast? Kirito has some idea of what it's like to 'not exist anymore'. It takes several seconds, but when he comes to again, he's back where he started. On that platform, in his starting location, no worse for wear.

It's hard to tell what Rek'sai was planning, but given her own animalistic nature, it's safe to assume one of those three things holds true. In this case, it's to find someone else to ambush. With Darius and Fiora intently focused on one another, the options Rek'sai has are fairly clear. Burrowing in a tunnel behind the Noxian soldier, Fiora reacts immediately. She lunges forward as the creature unburrows again beneath Darius' feet, and it doesn't give him much time to respond. The creature's jaws around a leg, and Fiora's sword stabbing into one of his vitals. He snarls, and smacks them both away from him with the hilt of his axe, but it's not too effective. Not at close range, at least.

Another on the board, for the blue team. Rei'sai and Fiora work together to kill the rest of the minions, and quickly start attacking the tower itself. Rek'sai gouging at it with her claws, and Fiora swiping at it with her sword.
Mihk Lihzeh     Mihk pants a little, and leans against the body of the Turret for a moment, catching her breath and quaffing a pair of potions, a Hi-Potion, and a Hi-Ether to replenish herself as the Minions push past the enemy line. She walks up behind, and gathers energy. "Power of Earth, Hear my plea, come forth by the power of this Contract, and by its power be bound." she intones. The gemstone is tossed forth again this time a golden bodied creature of the same type as before appears, and immediately tackles the enemy turret with all its might, lightly causing a large chunk to come loose.

Mihk herself starts tossing Ruin bolts to add to the damage output while the Minions whale away, whittling down both sides.
Jinx     The Death Chamber is... it is. Jinx hasn't liked it. Ever. It's just... nothing. Is this what real death is like? Is this what waits her in the end? WHY AM I THINKING AT ALL THIS IS DUMB.

Poof. She's dumped out of the Chamber and back onto the main platform, gasping and grumbling about spooky void bitches. She picks up a few trinkets from the vendor, and marches back out to lane with a spring in her step. Gotta keep up appearances. Plus Mihk cleaned up, so.

She gets on the horn yelling into her radio. "While they're gone get rid of the little dudes and do what you can to knock down their tower! I gotta do a thing."

Oh hey. There's people knock knock knocking on the Top Tower? Jinx plants her feet, steadies herself, and launches... The Ultra Mega Death Rocket, the massive missle launching up and over the trees, aiming for the cluster of dudes who are pushing at Tower.
Ezreal     Janna respawns first, buying some more utility trinkets before setting off at a rapid clip back toward the tower. Ezreal appears on the platform after a moment, picking a selection of items for himself. However, rather than head back down the lane, he smirks. He can guess that, if Mihk is or isn't with them, there were minions at his turret. He had a thing for that.

A blue bow appears in his fist as he rises up, a scream tearing from his throat before a crescent of golden energy rockets from him, heading straight down the lane toward the turret under siege. It passes through Janna, who chuckles as the Trueshot Barrage tears through Mihk and Jinx's minion wave. Not only would this likely do some damage to Mihk, but that wave she was pushing with? That's going away, and Ezreal's gold count goes higher. With this done, he starts down the lane, smiling as he sprints.
Gaonoir It's the being unable to follow her directly that causes Gaonoir to fall behind. Or maybe he got sidelined by some of the wild creatures that lurk in the jungle areas. Either way, it's long enough for the two opponents to tagteam Darius into submission and start working on the tower.

A rumble comes from the jungle. Followed by a roar, and something that is not just the cartoonish black dog comes bursting out of them. No, that thing is a freaking bear with a wolf's head. Looks like the little tussle with the creature was enough to push Gaonoir into evolving to meet the challenge.

But the suddenly bear-wolf beast tearing out into the lane isn't the threat. The threat is that before he's even close to the two enemy champions the lengths of his scarf whip out quickly, aimed at both Fiora and Rek'sai with the wicked claw-like blades on the ends of them!
Mihk Lihzeh     Mihk is hit by that wave. Topaz is also knocked back into its master, bowling them both over, thankfully out of Tower Range as the Minions are wiped out. She's slow to get up though, groaning a bit and shaking her head to clear it. "What... what was that?" she asks noone in particular. She's a sitting duck right now, slightly stunned as she is after that attack.
Fiora Laurent     Well, Rek'sai was already roughed up after fighting with Gaonoir, and Darius got in a lick or two. Hammering away at the tower, the minions are starting to attack her, too. Fiora is starting to back off, just as Jinx's rocket sails into view. The void creature attempts to avoid it, but.. too little, too late. Letting out a high pitched, blood-curdling screech, the Xer'sai rolls over and flails before slumping to the ground. That's one.

Fiora's left to deal with Gaonoir, which she has managed to do, before. This is for real, now, though. His first attack, with those bladed tendrils, she manages to turn and parry with her sword. Now, it's just a straight up retreat. She's getting back to her tower, as fast as she can.

Vel'koz, in the meantime, has pushed his line of minions up and is also attacking the tower.
Kirito     As soon as Kirito comes to his senses, he starts rubbing his head. A million thoughts go through it. How to beat that combination? And how glad he is that this situation never, ever occured in Sword Art Online.

Frustration that friendly fire can't be abused, too.

Another wild idea strikes him. If this competition seems to be similar to a real-time-strategy game with automated defenses... try to grab an enemy minion, use it to attract a blue side's shot and lead it into Vel'koz?
He wastes about five seconds making the DUMBEST expression ever at his own wild thoughts.

There's no way that would work. He'd just look silly and maybe die again.

The gamer in him is perceptive though. He watches the minions advance... and... "...Oh. That's how this works."

Thankfully, he has one advantage on his side.

    Wings.

The fairy wings flare up to full speed again and send him ROCKETING at tremendous speeds down the central pathway, easily outstripping the marching Blue Minions and heading back to where Vel'Koz was. he stays flying low though, and this time draws only one of his blades. Instead he reaches up a sleeve and pulls out... throwing picks. Lots of them. All while heading...

    Straight for the front lines!

It's time to push the line forward and see if he can just HARASS the shit out of Vel'koz. Maybe draw him off course...
Jinx     CASH MONEY. She's not even the DUNKMASTER but she dunked that THING in the FACE. YES. "YES YES YES." Okay so she started screaming at the end of that but that's okay, right? She's still running for bottom when she sees that line of bright light come screaming through the Rift, and... well.

She Gets Excited, and charges down the lane to help Mihk. "BOOKIE! Books are you okay? HEY! Get back to the tower now, before you get nuked!"

She hasn't got another Rocket for a while. Fishbones is making odd grinding noises as she switches back over to Pow Pow to start laying down lines of bullets at the oncoming wave of minions, trying ot get their attention until Mihk's clear. "Get moving!"
Gaonoir The creature is down until she respawns or whatever it was they called it. Fiora manages to parry the attack, but breaks off back to her side of the arena afterwards. "Nice to see you remember me!" Gaonoir calls after her.

Though remembering her is exactly why he doesn't give chase. He's roughed up from the brawl with Rek, and he knows what Fiora is capable of even if she is wounded. That, and look how well running off on his own worked the first time? Yeah, not as well as he would of liked.

Instead he holds his position, having seemed to learn his lesson and waiting for either the other Champion or more minions to catch up before pushing forward.
Ezreal     Janna has a few strengths. Her greatest happen to be her speed and her ability to keep a target locked. She flies around the tower, another Zephyr aiming to slow Mihk before she's able to recover. Janna's spells don't do a lot of damage, but the damage is coming if she can keep Mihk busy. Unfortunately, Jinx is coming, and both Ezreal and Janna know it. As Ezreal appears in the lane, Jinx is there too, and Janna is forced to fall back. Before she does, though, she positions a Howling Gale in an attempt to catch Mihk one more time.

Like Jinx, Ezreal won't be able to fire the Barrage for a moment. He attempts to send a Mystic Shot at Mihk, but has to try and keep the minion waves equal. Janna's shield appears around the damaged turret, just in case Jinx decides to try and attack it, before she begins floating around the lane, keeping herself mobile to be ready for any sort of attack.
Mihk Lihzeh     AN ALLY HAS BEEN SLAIN.

Mihk blinks as she's caught by those Zephyrs, then the Gale kicks her up into the air. She slams back down and that Mystic Shot slams into her... she doesn't get up again. Topaz lingers for a few moments, before the flow of Aether gives out and the gemstone clinks to the ground inert.

So this is oblivion... perhaps it is not so bad, she thinks, somehow, in that holding area before she can rejoin the battle.
Jinx     Tch. Jinx takes more than a few steps back into the minion wave as it's again 2 on 1. Fishbones stops making that awful noise and goes 'ping'. The Cannon growls and saunters back towards her twoer a bit. Jinx and Mihk put a beating on the blue tower already and this wouldn't take much longer if they could get back there.

Rockets and bullets start to fly, but Ezreal's trying to keep the lane from moving. Smart. Gives people around them more time to..."

She fishes around in her belts, though it's not clear where she's hiding that ward, exactly. She hucks it into the bushes near the river and just waits for Books to get back.
Mihk Lihzeh     Mihk is returned to the platform, her body in the lane vanishing as her equipment is returned to her. She resummons Topaz, likely opting for the more defense oriented familiar to help her now the battle is getting into full swing.

She purchases items that might aid her, boosts to her magical power sound very tempting, though she'll have to save some more for that chalice... next time, perhaps.

She rejoins the lane, already gathering mana and dropping another Miasma cloud into the middle of the lane. "I return to you now." she says to Jinx between gunshots. "At the turn of the tide."

    Glasses adjust.
Fiora Laurent     Kirito has been gone long enough for Vel'koz to be wary, so he backs off, and uses his recall to head back to his base. So far, so good, as far as he's concerned. Likewise, Fiora backs off too. Both heal up the moment they return, and use the time to stock up on items. Meanwhile, a beam of light envelops the tower that Gaonoir is guarding. The light swirls around and coalesces into the form of Darius, who used his teleport spell to return rapidly to the fray. Striding forward with his axe, he hacks through the minions and makes his way towards Fiora's tower in turn. Yes, that's a good indication for him to go and help out with the objective.

Jinx does have the right idea, as no sooner does she toss that ward down, that an earsplitting roar cuts through the air. Rek'sai is back up, and no doubt is now somewhere out in that forest, lurking around and looking for some prey.
Ezreal     With the numbers in their favor, Janna immediately rushes toward the river, placing wards along possible gank paths. Ezreal brings one from his pocket and sets it up in the lane bush, then resumes his furious farmfest with Jinx. Janna sweeps back behind Ezreal, then moves toward the bush he warded to start setting up another kill on Jinx. It wouldn't be long before Mihk would return, so they had to try and take advantage.

A few moments pass, arcane shots and bullets and rockets flying in a cacophonic lightshow. Then, from the bushes... it's a Howling Gale! Ezreal attempts to fire bolts at Jinx in concert. Even if they couldn't kill her, they needed her to back off so they could push. As he does, he hopes Rek'Sai takes notice, or perhaps Kirito and Fiora. Of course, with Vel'Koz in mid and Darius no doubt heading back to the top lane, his hopes were pinned on the Xer'Sai.

Before the pair can press their assault, however, Mihk is back in lane. Janna backs off almost immediately, and Ezreal sighs. "Alright, well... got any ideas?" Janna blinks, returning to her mobile dance as she surveys the lane. "Just continue to slay the minions."

Ezreal laughs, then continues, trying to push his wave faster than Jinx can.
Gaonoir     A teleport, convenient! Gaonoir certainly seems to have learned his lesson, as he lets Darius take the lead. But he's following close behind, using the length of his scarf-claws to reach past Darius' swings and pick off the minions that manage to scatter out of his way. He does have stronger attacks in this form, but he's keeping his energy in reserve so he can make a big move or two when either they get to the tower or other champions return. Because he's probably not going too long before he's got to respawn as well once another full fight breaks out.
Jinx     "Asssshhhhhh-" Jinx's curse is lost in the howling winds of Janna's tornado, her body peppered by bolts of energy. But she's back on her feet quickly, sapping energy from the Minions she's shooting. More and more, little by little she's slowly catching her breath, but there's just a lot going on, especially with the noise of the Hunter in the jungle again.

But then Books is back, and Jinx grumbles. "'The turn of the tide!' You sure you're not a fish, Books?"
Kirito     Kirito arrives at the center zone.. uncontested! Just a bunch of Minions and turrets fighting. Hrrrrrm. To try and get crafty? Or... no.

After some thinking, no, he decides not. Instead he decides to push the front lines forward by taking out enemy minions! This... this is pretty straightforward.

But all his senses are sharply tuned for the approach of ANYTHING else...
Fiora Laurent On that note, Ezreal and Janna might spot something. A little flicker, beneath the feet of Jinx and Mihk. That could mean only one thing. Tremor-sense. It's a pretty odd thing, but that extra sense that the Xer'sai has is certainly useful. There's a couple of magic pings, highlighting the area behind the other pair. It's clear what Rek'sai has in mind, and it's pretty much what Ezreal was hoping for. With virtually no warning, something big, angry and half-burrowing throught the ground, bursts from the wall behind Jinx and her partner, leaving behind a glowing tunnel entrance. Snarling and making some rather unnerving clicking sounds, the landshark glides through the ground like water, and angles to pop up under their feet.

Fiora is on her way back to lane, to stop Gaonoir and Darius from pushing much more. But, the tower is wearing through their minions quick. The hulking soldier turns to Gaonoir briefly, "Go." Is all he says. Apparently he can handle things from here, as he backs off from the tower, just as the last minion is blasted away. Vel'koz, too, arrives back, just in time. The waves of minions are fighting near the middle of the lane, so he just hangs back just inside the range of his tower, keeping safe for the moment.
Mihk Lihzeh     Mihk blinks a little, her Topaz arching its back and growling. "Something comes." she says to Jinx, not long before Rek'sai emerges. The Miqo'te leaps aside, rolling into a crouch a bit further into the river than might be safe. She turns a Bio spell onto Rek'sai, then charges up for a Ruin bolt to keep Ezreal on his toes.
Gaonoir Darius doesn't say much, but Gaonoir is use to dealing with that sort of warrior, and a simple command can speak many more volumes than one might expect. The wolf-bear nods once, and turns to backtrack across the arena. If only Fiora was coming to confront Darius again, it meant the other Champions were elsewhere and might need assistance.

For a moment he considers evolving again, but then decides against it. Being able to fly suddenly might be seen as cheating, and Gaonoir isn't that big of a jerk. Not that he has a particular sense of honor, but much like the WMAT he has no real reason to not play by the rules the League uses. He is trying to make a decent impression, after all.
Ezreal     Ezreal is busy farming. He's really getting into it, by the look of concentration on his face. Janna taps him with her staff, and only then does he notice the pings and the Tremor Sense. With a smirk, he fires at one more minion...

Before he Arcane Shifts behind Jinx, Janna sending a tornado toward Mihk as Rek'Sai tunnels in to help pop their enemies up. Ezreal immediately slings everything in his arsenal, but not toward Jinx. Nope. As the Ruin slams into him, he turns his attention onto Mihk instead, tossing everything he can toward her. Of course, he is in a rather vulnerable position, standing right near Jinx, but a shield from his support ripples into life around him. He smiles, keeping his focus on the non-League support.
