Chica Mendez     The Barrens of the Sixth World Seattle were something that Kotone probably knew well enough from her own world. This was clearly the place of the have-nots; many of the buildings and streets are ruined or tagged with gang signs proclaiming the Ancients or various other gangs in the area. In fact, there's a slowly growing din of motorcycles that seem to be meandering through the area. It's unlikely that Kotone wants to be outside if they come her way.

Chica was coming from a meeting for a Johnson that didn't show; she was already a bit on-edge from that alone. The thought of go-gangers joining in to screw up her day isn't one that she's willing to allow. She digs into the holster under her jacket to pull out her pistol while she starts to hurry. "Just stay the fuck away from me. I already paid my damn protection money."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa knew enough to at least go rampaging through Gang turff and setting them of she wasn't afraid though she was however wearing a long jacket had shades on over her eyes and who knows what sher might have in the folds of the coat for now though she seems to be almost curious about the world, there were a number of races here. She'd noticed what might be elves and some number of other variants on the basic human form.

She didn't seem to be looking about too much and she was glad she'd left her cycle behind, it would just get attention.

"Humm I wonder if there's any local wi-fi."

She attemps to see if there are any networks that have some sort of wireless set up in range of her as she moves.
Chica Mendez     For now, it seems that the go-gang is content to keep circling along the labrynthine streets. It seemed that they were actively patrolling their turf tonight, but they haven't gotten much closer. That said, it seems that they might be tightening their searches. Kotone's attempt to reach the Matrix could only just barely put her in reach of the Public Grid, and the connection was god-awful, as might be expected.

Chica lets out a relieved breath as she starts to get the feeling of their patrol route. She's still keeping a good speed. The AR HUD that her glasses gave her told her she still had some ways to go. She whips around a corner, scowling to herself... and then catches sight of someone she hadn't seen around here before. She was... too clean. Keeping her gun close at her side, she whistles piercingly towards Kotone. "Chica! The fuck are you doing outside this time of night? Get indoors somewhere!"
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa grimaces at the connection but it's to be expected she'll start trying to pull up local information, maps, local news that sort of thing to get a bit of a better idea of what's going on. She does keep dabs on the sounds about her she does hear the cycles but while concerned isn't scared. She's cautious and she pauses looking at the woman who calls out to her giving her a good look over for a moment.

"I was tending to personal business..."

Still this does have her more concerned that a stranger was shouting out a warning to her.
Chica Mendez     Cycling through the standard news sites doesn't seem to bring up much of help; it's the usual corp-sponsored trash, though at least she'll start getting some of the big names. Aztechnology. Ares Macrotechnology. The Corporate Court. Maps are a lot more helpful, but the area that she's in... isn't really mapped out very well. GridGuide doesn't come out here, and nobody wants to go in and mess with the inhabitants.

Personal business, she says? Chica's eyeroll and annoyed expression make it clear of what she thinks about that reason. "I ain't about to screw with you, lady. I'm trying to tell you these go-gangers aren't nice people. I pay them and I don't want to get caught. Bust your ass, or you're gonna get blown away." There, warning given. She's about to take off and let Kotone deal with what comes herself...

The roars of the motorcycles starts coming close. Chica grinds her teeth in frustration, then glances around the area, in the skylight. There seems to be a relatively large tree growing not far away. "I'm going for cover, chica," she says over her shoulder. "Come with or fight, you do whatever. I'm not dying here." And she starts to run.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa is getting some better ideas even seeing about the state of this world, why the poential customer had asked her out here? Well she'll deal with that later and may just charge them a bit more. She looks at them for a moment.

"Thank you for the warning."

She's actually looking about for a way to go. She nods and folloes after the woman looking to find some cover, she's got some other options but doesn't want to tip her hand to that.
Chica Mendez     Noting that she's being followed, Chica keeps her pace fast, but not not too bad. It wasn't long until they managed to come to the tree--it'd settled in what looked to be a former warehouse and grown dramatically, with roots large enough to grow up and out. As they approach, Chica opens herself to the Astral and looks up--sure enough, she can see the tree had been inhabited. She motions for Kotone to stay where she was while she came closer to the tree.

From what it looked like, the mestizo elf was staring up at the tree with blank eyes, chanting quietly in a language that didn't seem like it wanted to translate. Given Kotone's experience, it might be clear that she's using magic somehow.

The Plant spirit notes the presence of the two immediately, but Chica's words are soothing. She permits the two leave to stay in her domain.

Chica motions for Kotone to follow again, diving into the root systems to find a hidden hollow inside. When Kotone finds her again, she's found a decent enough nook, but the elf's pistol is pointed straight at her chest. "Not looking to steal from you," Chica grunts quietly. "I just don't trust strangers much. Mind telling me why you're in my neighborhood?"
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa has no issue keeping up with the elf and she seems to ahve some idea about how to move. She also takes note that Chica seem to be using some sort of magic. What she doesn't know but it's magic, and Kotone's got a mixed relationship with magic. She's on guard however as who knows what Chica could do? Kotone sure didn't know what she could do. She settles in and looks at the weapon for a moment.

"As I said personal business, I was meeting a client about some business. I do custom rides of various sorts from scartch. I got a request from the client to meet in person to talk about what they wanted. Now lower the gun, you fire a shot and they will likely find you."
Chica Mendez     Chica blinks slowly a couple times as she percieves Kotone's aura. Or... What little was left. She could barely see the essence of this woman, trapped underneath so many layers of cold, dead, black machinery. How was she even still alive? An uncomfortable thought flashes back to things she remembers from a past life. It's bad enough for her to drop her Astral sight again just so she doesn't have to see it anymore. "You're all kinds of fucked up, aren't you?"

She doesn't put her gun away, though she does lower it a little bit. A dark frown comes to her face. "Was it one of the Ancients that you ended up getting in contact with?"

Speaking of the Ancients--it wasn't very long until they were zooming past the tree, and the wild shouts and cries of the elven go-gangers fill the street. They make a point of avoiding the tree, however. Some of them know what's sleeping in that old tree.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa looks back at Chica hrd her face howeve ris mute it's kinda hard to tell just what's going on behind those shades for the moment.

"No I'm not."

A strange retort but she doesn't seem to have any of the odd ticks that someone whose got this much chrome would have.

"No it was someone else, I can't give away my client though but I can tell you I'd not knowingly feed into clients like those. They might not pay up for one or try worse. A girl has to eat you know...wait? I know I heard your voice before."
Chica Mendez     It /was/ strange. With this much cyberware, this woman shouldn't be acting the way she does. Her responses are quick and actually contain emotion. She wasn't distant or hazy. "I can see you on Astral, chica. You somehow have an aura even though there shouldn't be anything for your soul to anchor to. There are people that'd pay for a small country just to get their hands on you... Better keep that shit tight under wraps."

Couldn't give away her client. Well, whatever. She wasn't the type to get involved with the locals, either. Mentioning the radio makes her eyebrow arch. "You're from the radio. What was it... Kotone. You can call me Chica."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa frowns a bit. "I have that effect on magic users sometimes. I wasn't planning to say a hting till you outed me. I know how that goes I'm not foolish cybernatching is a problem back home."

She looks Chica over for a moment and she nods. "Kotone is my name yes, so welcome to the Multivses you should brace for people who might start poking about. Thanks for the warning I am thankful about that. I was in the process of trying to pull local information off the net here but the connection's ass. It's a damn shame to see Seattle like this..."
Chica Mendez     As the two talked, the sound of the go-ganger bikes started to fade away to the distance, perhaps pulling back to wherever they'd made their base. Chica makes sure to carefully lower the hammer of her Ares Predator, and holsters it at her thigh. "Just giving you how it is, chica. I don't think you quite get what I mean, but it ain't important."

The elf starts making her way out from the protective clutches of the tree, making sure to give words of thanks to the spirit that had sheltered them. She gives a short, dry chuckle. "We've been in the Multiverse for some time. I just figured now was the time to expand my business. If you want Matrix access, you're not going to find anything good this far in the Barrens. As far as I know, this place has always been a shithole. Unless you're with the corps, but we both know how that goes."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa looks pretty serious when she replies on she doesn't quite get it. "What technology that would change the world, ensure thier power and fortune. Ya I get it, painfully so." She listens about net access and nods. "Figured as much on the net access. Well here it might have been but not where I'm from. As for corps, I know from painful experiance. So we going to stay here till some people think we're doing something else in here?"
Chica Mendez     Chica shrugs as she stretches, free of the close confines. That's just how things were here. "Do yourself a favor, pick up a commlink and a fake SIN somewhere. I've heard Seattle's GOD has been stepping up their Matrix enforcement." The danger was past, so Chica starts making her way out of the ruined building. "You can do whatever you like. I'm going back to my apartment. Do us both a favor, and don't try to follow me." She brings her fingers up to her temple in a mock salute, then saunters away.
