Rhapsody     Ravnica, City of Guilds. The city is full of both insane and wonderful things. Nearly two years ago, a library was found that had been left abandoned for years, possibly decades. After a fateful visit to this library, things changed for the better. Better for the Izzet League, and better for the books that lay inside. Since then, a new elevator has been constructed to go straight to the library below, and since then the magewrights of the League had been finding all sorts of interesting things that they weren't even aware was just below there feet.

Today, however, Rhapsody found a very interesting letter on her desk. Just a piece of paper with a single name on it. A radio was picked up, a message was sent, and it was up to Ainsley if she would like to respond or not. While waiting for the response, Rhapsody had gone down to the library to have a look around. It was calm, content, peaceful even. A very different state than what she remembered from before. Isles and isles of dusty tomes and scrolls once scattered about in disaray have beent cleaned up, organized, and rest cozily on new shelves. Occasionally a page flicked as the guildmaster walks by, but it feels more like 'thank you' than 'READ ME' as it did before.
Ainsley     Since that day, Ainsley had gone through two different transformation, found love, found friendship, found herself, and had become a stronger person in every way that really mattered. It's likely she hadn't visited the library much in all of that time. After all, she was a busy creature and she only had so much time to sit down and read anything, let alone books written for the kind of scholars that she is now no longer even close to resembling. And yet, she responds to the radio message and comes to Ravnica.

The elevator trundles down to a stop, and the softly smiling lizard woman steps into the library. The living books might recognize her by nature, but they would also sense she is somehow closer to the written word than she had been the last time she visited. As she walks, she carefully brushes fingertips over the spines of books as if nudging them awake. And then she stopped when she found Rhapsody.

"Hello," she spoke in a voice that was just as peaceful as her surroundings. "I'm glad they're getting the attention they craved..."

A distant paper rustle makes Ainsley turn her head, smiling in that direction.
Rhapsody     When the elevator pings out a new arrival, Rhapsody turns toward it. Spotting Ainsley, the dragon smiles brightly, offering a friendly wave to her. "Good day, Ainsley! It's been quite a while, hasn't it? It's nice to see you again, and well," she motions to the library in general. There's a lot of paper fluttering that can be heard now, "They asked for you by name," she continues, holding the paper out. All it has on it is Ainsley's name, nothing more, nothing less. "Probably to thank you, which I think is the sound they're making now."
Ainsley     The piece of paper is accepted, and examined. Then the fluttering of paper is acknowledged, and Ainsley makes a much brighter and warmer smile, her feathers even poofing up. She carefully makes a lowering gesture with her offhand -- 'tone it down, guys' -- and then says, "That is the sound they're making. I can feel it. I could probably translate, too, if I whipped up the right spell for it." She makes a circular gesture with her index finger, making a sparkle of white light appear in the air.

"Looks like they can write just fine, though," she adds. "How have you been, Rhapsody?" she wonders, her head tilting in animal-like curiosity.
Rhapsody     At Ainsley's suggestion, the fluttering does in fact slow, there's a single loud 'thump' of what was probably a book closing in one last 'clap' of thanks, and then it fades to silence, save only for a couple of magewrights researching in other parts of the library. "Well, they have lots of writting on them, so I think it makes sense they can learn, I suppose? A lot of the Simic have wanted to come and study them but.. well..." a shrug is given as she reaches out, plucks a book from the shelf, and just rolls it over in her hands, "My father would hate to hear me say this, but I lke having a mystery in Nivix.." the book is put back as Rhapsody looks back to Ainsley, smiling, "Busy. End of the year is always really chaotic here, but after 2 years now, I think I'm starting to get better at this.. It's still hard, though, some days.
Ainsley     The lizard woman grabs one of the books with the care one takes when handling delicate glass, and she flips it open as she listens to Rhapsody's answer. "A dragon and her horde," the girl cheerfully comments, then she tucks the book away on its shelf, "It would be sad, though, to see a repeat of the past. This library was held hidden even from others of your guild. That caused more problems than just a lack of knowledge. The books themselves are magical and they grew restless. Angry. They felt abandoned. This feeling you have, to keep it all away from the others, what is stopping that feeling from growing into the same one that saw this place locked away?" She looks to another book, one she is reasonably sure is awake, and asks it, "What do you think? Do you want to be read by as many people as possible?"

"I cannot tell you what to do with this library. It is your domain. I can only heartily disapprove of the idea of holding a mystery close simply for the thrilling superiority of it." Despite the words, she is still calm and gentle in her voice. She's not bothered by it in the slightest.
Rhapsody     And there's a thought that had not even occured to the dragon. "... Fair point," she admits after a while, taking a breath, letting it slip away, "Maybe I'll let them have a look, after all," she muses quietly, "No no, you're right, Ainsley. Something I heard said in the multiverse.. I don't remember the exact line, but it basically said if you don't learn from before, you'll just end up doing it all over agian."
Ainsley     Ainsley accepts the guildmaster's words after that as any other. "I appreciate that," she tells Rhapsody. "I'm sure many more will appreciate it, too." She taps her cheek a couple of times with her fingertips. "I am sure there are those scraps of knowledge that would only be harmful in the hands of other Guilds. Those might require a more delicate touch, but I still suggest avoiding locking those up. Hidden knowledge often becomes dangerous knowledge." She curls her tail, her energy perking up.
"I'm sure you'll do fine as a leader. You have more outside perspectives than most leaders do," she tells Rhapsody, the confidence just pouring off of her. This is an altogether different creature than the one that originally saved this library.
Rhapsody     he words cause Rhapsody to get a little sheepish. Her tail wraps around her left ankle, a hand rubs at the back of her neck, "A-Ah, thank you, Ainsley.." she replies after a moment, "You're .. you've come a long way since the first time you were down here." Sigh. "I need to get out of Ravnica more, I think."
Ainsley     "You do," Ainsley agrees easily enough, "Just try to find the worlds that approve of dragons, or uh... lizardfolk." She shrugs at Rhapsody! "Are there any empty wall spaces I can paint on in this library?" she wonders, switching mental gears smoothly. "I could put a big painting of your father up, or maybe you and your siblings... Maybe something more abstract?"
Rhapsody     Blink. Another blink. "Um.." the question surprised her but hey, she doesn't seem objective to it. "I think so.." she says, thinking about it. After a moment's thought she starts to walk, motioning for Ainsley to follow. "over this way, actually," she says, not looking so sheepish. After a short walk Rhapsody would motion upward, "There was a large empty shelf here but there wasn't anything to put on it once everything was organized."
Ainsley     Ainsley follows along with Rhapsody, floating along behind the dragon girl without much of a sound. When they find the empty space, she approaches and touches at the wall, and checks for dust, then looks around and raises her voice a bit. "Would it be alright if I painted here?" she asks the library as a whole. She doesn't expect a negative reaction, but she is trying to be polite! "I've been painting a lot, to express my creativity and to show people a bit of my heart. Actually, I think I made a painting of you. It's my Christmas present, it should be in the mail."
Rhapsody That gets a smile out of the Guildmaster. She decides to let the library answer, should it so chose. After a moment, there's a small flutter from a scroll near by, then a book, and then the nearby tomes all start to rattle on their shelves. It doesn't seem negative! "Well, I suppose that settles that. You still have your Signet, right, Ainsley? If you do you can come and go as you please."
