Peridot     The nerve of it all. Earthlings arrogance seemed to know no bounds. The local government had claimed a few choice abandoned gem relics. Old vessels. Pioneer ships that came to earth before the warp pads were installed and allowed for instanious travel. At one point they would have been largely unimportant. But given the situation Homeworld gems were in, every piece of their native tech had sky rocketed in value.

Peridot had flirted with diplomacy in the past. However, she was still a gem. And when a gem wanted something and had the fire power to simply take it, that was generally the end of negotiations.

Local government was not nearly so well-armed as the larger nations in this region of the planet. The forces they can muster were insignificant next to the power of the highly advanced gem technology. They harnessed the power of stars, and they were pit up against cultures that still burned whatever they found in the ground for fuel. Pathetic.

And so, they did what the weak so often resort to- they called for aid from more capable beings. It was a violent sight to behold. A giant sized green hand hovered in the sky above the jungle bathing the entire area in a neon green light. Robonoids, pod-like robots shuffled left and right firing plasma blast that melted steel, and bunkers a like.

Peridot herself stood afloat on a large disc. Her re purposed escape pod that she modified to become her personal transport. Anything the robonoids could not handle, she had planned on utilizing Jasper. Anything Jasper could not handle- that's when the warship would come into play.

"Robonoids are clearing the area of the local human infestation. Complete sterilization will occur shortly. At which case the fleet of pioneer vessels will be ours." She mentioned casually to her bodyguard.
Jasper      Jasper stands behind Peridot, behind and to the left, although the correct phrase might be 'looms behind'. She's wearing her cloak, something of a symbol of office, with her hands planted on her hips to make her seem all the broader.

Her golden eyes watch the scene below with a sense of detached boredom - easily readable on her face, too. Her eyes wander to Peridot. "You don't need me for this," she growls. "Your robonoids can handle this. Or the ship." The wind whips at her cape.
Corona Arclite They call for help, and help is what they're going to get.

Corona could of just flown her ship over this sector and beamed down, but when the distress call mentions robot hordes and appendage-shaped starships hovering overhead, a different approach was probably better. Especially when it means she can pack a bit more power to bring along.

So instead it's a few wargate hops and instead the machinist tears onto location in a rather peculiar machine. It looks like it could be some sort of truck, but the front end sports a large spinning drill, and it has some kind of crane rattling around in the bed. Exhaust with a greenish hue puffs out of the vertical exhaust pipes. The craft skid-drifts to a stop, and Corona leans out the driver side window to peer at the robonoids skittering about shooting things. "Well, don't that just beat all." The foxgirl ducks back into the cab and reachs for the joystick on the central console. "Looks like we've gotta bit of a robot roundup to do."

As Corona works the controller the crane raises and turns, using it's grabber claw to grab one of the metal cubes from the back of the truck, swings over to the side, and drops it to the ground.

Gears and pistons can be heard rattling within the cube as it expands somewhat, rising up on a pair of 'chicken walker' legs and deploying a pair of segmented clockwork arms out of the sides. As the automatron trundles away from the truck it whips an arm at the nearest Robonoid to swat it away from chasing hapless locales.

"Good thin' Ah brought some bots of my own fer the roundup."
Reina Kinney     They need somebody's help, and that's just why Reina Kinney is here.

Her shuttle is in orbit nearby but the hunter herself is beaming down directly to the surface. Even if she is one woman, she's a tough woman who's as red-hot as her red hair! And she loves nothing more than staring adversity in the eye with an evil smile and telling it, 'Bring it on!' Then adding a sneer for good measure too. She's one of those people who has little to no fear.

Looking around and surveying the general area, Reina gets a look at what she's up against and she shakes her head. "Looks like things are going to be quite overwhelming against my favor, but oh well!" She runs a hand through her ponytail and shakes her head from side to side. "I'll just have to deal with it in my usual manner, and that is by engaging it head on!"

Reina snaps her fingers and a pair of energy-projectile shooting pistols form in each hand, making her look more like an action heroine now. "I might be small, but big things sure come in small packages!" She twirls her handguns a little before looking toward the robodroids, that smile getting bigger. "Come one, come all! Reina Kinney is gonna blast you down to size!"
Alexis Maaka     Like Corona, Alexis decided today was a good time for a less than obvious approach from the stars. Instead, she arrives via a motorcycle tearing across pavement from warpgate to warpgate. The vehicle gets her there in time to join the party, deftly avoiding civvies and local authorities before she makes herself a ramp to propel herself across barricades set up by the military and police. Landing, she stops only to call out to the nearest policeman or National Guardsman in earshot. "Pass the word, make sure everyone is sent to evacuated however you can. We'll take care of the invaders, focus on taking care of the civvies." Before she can elaborate further, she tears off with the loud electric whine of a hybrid engine, leaving dust and gravel behind in her wake.

As she drives, she reaches for her matter manipulator while she moves her way towards one of the robonoids. Her grapple fires to snare the robonoid's legs, before peeling off to topple the machine over.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa Wasn't long in following up Corona's call for help. It seemed there was some problem going on here with robots and dealing with robots? WAs something that she was pretty decent with these day and it doens't take her long to leave Meiter station and get the Bluenose under way she's not entirely happy but she couldn't say no to a friend who had trouble to deal with. It wouldn't be long till stealtk suitted Kotone would be beaming down to jouin up with Corona she didn't seem armed /yet/ but she did have a matter maniplulator handy she looke to Croona and Maaka nodding once.

T "On it I'll work on getting people clear while you two scrap them?"

She deploys several small scout drones to help her find anyone who might not have been able to fleet just yet.
Peridot     "When has a plan ever gone smoothly since we've arrived here?" She answers back without turning to look at her escort.  "Just be grateful these insects have done us the favor of digging our tech up for us." She goes on, her own tone becoming bored. "Thanks to our reliance on them- and your own persistent desire to break them. Our reserves are running low."

Idly she touched her chest. The last time a plan had gone horribly awry, a polearm had pierced her completely through. Peridot couldn't be killed in such a way, but it didn't mean that it didn't hurt like nothing she had ever felt before.

And then all at once, alarms started beeping on her holo-pad. Resistance. Robonoids being pushed back and destroyed in some sectors. "Ugh... We have multiple contacts pouring in." She starts, bring up visuals on the elites that had deigned to show their face.

Warily, Peridot grimaced. How stressful. Stress was something Peridot was supposed to be avoiding. She glances down briefly and opens a little hatch on her forearm. Three little white tablets fall into her up turned nest of floating fingers, and she quickly pops all three of them into her mouth. Thanks Medusa.

"I will handle the furbeast." She announces. Corona's effort to divert robonoid attention pays off. As, Peridot has little interest in senseless slaughter; more interest in dealing with the most dangerous threats as efficiently as possible. The targeted robonoid is crushed by the cube's attack. Individually they appeared weak, but they were incredibly numerous. A swarm of four of them turn their attention to the cube and move to surround it, trying to fire blast of plasma from all directions.

Uninvited, Peridot opens a holo-panel directly in front of Jaspers face. The image displays Reina issuing her challenging cry and Maaka dragging a robonoid through the mud. "You handle these two."

Peridot began to move her floating disc towards Corona and Kotone, expecting Jasper to leap off at her own discretion. Upon arriving, she hovers a seemingly safe distance in the air and looks down over her nose at the two. "You are interrupting the efforts of the gem empire. Surrender your weapons and vacate the battle immediately." Peridot raises her hand, summoning more robonoids from the surrounding area to start making their way over.
Jasper      Jasper remains impassive and implacable as events unfold. When Peridot gives the order, Jasper's expression doesn't change. As Peridot moves off, atop the disc, Jasper just leaps from it. She lands hard, cracking the ground where she falls, and rising from her kneeling position to pull herself to her full height.

Unlike Peridot, she doesn't give any offer to surrender. Jasper's face, flat and uninterested, suddenly splits into a feral, terrible grin. She points one big finger at Reina and remarks, "I'm going to snap you in half."

To Alexis, Jasper reaches and grasps one of Peridot's robonoids in her grip. She hurls the spherical construct at Alexia, evidently deciding that if she wants one so badly, Jasper will help her out with a second!
Corona Arclite

The clock-work cubebot goes for one of the larger robonoids, grabbing for it with its claws. But at the same time it's being surrounded, several plasma shots burning holes in the surface of the metal block. One shot goes low and blows off a leg, causing the machine to topple over... Which slows it down but doesn't entirely stop it, as it grabs the broken leg with one of its arms and flings that at the robonoids even as they're shooting it apart.

As the tech-gem turns her attention their way and demands their surrender, Corona leans out of the cab again, pushing the brim of her stetson up out of her face with a finger. "Whal Ah reckon y'all were here breakin' stuff first and folks ain't taken kindly to it. So iffen ya don't mind."

Her other hand is still on the controller, working it like one of those arcade machines to swing the crane around and angles it up. But it can't reach Peridot's hover-pod.

Then Corona hits the trigger on the joystick, and the claw fires off the crane towards Peridot's pod like a harpood, chain rattling behind it. "How's bout ya come down here and we deal with this like proper folks." Which probably means beating each other up.
Reina Kinney     When Jasper hits the ground, Reina spins around to spot what just landed, and raises an eyebrow as she sees that it was none other than the woman apparently known as Jasper. A woman who can crack the ground by landing on it should be a sign that this is definitely not a woman to be dealt with lightly. Reina narrows an eye as she stares at Jasper, waiting to see what she has to say.

When the face breaks into a grin, both eyes narrow as she starts to glare at Jasper for real this time. It's not until Jasper bluntly threatens Reina that the red-head's expression changes suddenly. It goes from being a stern glare to a sarcastic smirk, along with a slightly amused snicker at that.

"YOU are going to snap ME in half?" Reina says in an obviously mocking manner. She chuckles, running a hand through her hair again in a taunting manner. "Oh please, lady! You may be bigger than me, but I'll have you know that I've dealt with giant mutant freaks a LOT huger than you! And while they may have been tough, they turned out to be no match for me in the end!" Another laugh. "But if you really want to try taking me on, then by all means be my guest!" Even as Jasper does the trick of throwing that robonoid at Alexis, Reina doesn't flinch in the least bit. "OK, so you're a strong woman too, but can you actually use your strength efficiently against me? After all, isn't it something like the bigger they are, the harder they fall? And let me tell you something, after what happened when you came down here, I have to wonder how big of a crater you'll be leaving after I knock you down!" She talks the talk, but can she walk the walk?
Alexis Maaka     Immediately when Alexis feels a tremor in the ground, she glances behind to see a /very/ big female (If you could call the mass of sculpted muscle and brutal rage that is Jasper) throwing a robonoid at her like a volleyball.

It hits her dead on, knocking her right off the bike as it slams into a van, and the robonoid Alexis has snagged is the one thing stopping her from joining the vehicle's collision. Even then, it almost rips her arm right out of socket, and she slams onto the pavement.

"...that's new." She growls, picking herself up before she draws a PDW from her matter manipulator, almost as if she has an infinitely deep pouch on her back or something. The machine pistol fires repeatedly at Jasper, as she sprints to join the melee between Gem warlord and GUARDIAN. No one-liners, just all business.

And yet, she hurts like hell to even still move, even as the STALKER feeds in anesthetics and nano-repair units to knit her wounds together and keep her on her feet. This is not going to be an easy fight to win, not against someone this fast and this experienced in on-the-fly combat tactics.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa is unaware of the Gems argumebt but what she does know is there's people in danger. She hears Peridot speak up and she looks up to her while she's trying to get people to leave. She sees more drones show up and sne doesn't seem too happy about this. She looks to the Gem.

"Wait really? Your going to that? We could try to talk this out but you seem too intent on fighting today."

Kotone isn't gong yet for a weapon directly but she does have the strnge Matter Manipulator in hand and she seems to be getting ready to use it.
Peridot     "They are in possession of gem property." She proclaims. "Our property and have refused to give it back. Therefore we will take- Hrk--!" Peridot is knocked off balance as the harpoon slams into her floating disc.  Being actively engaged upon, Peridot ducks down and presses a button, converting the disc back to it's pod shape. Which offered her some protection.

Though she was still actively being pulled down. Peridot presses her face against the glass. "I am starting to re-think my rules of engagement." She grumbled- certainly very few had reacted like her manuals had suggested. However they were written in a world where gem superiority was unmatched. Such was no longer the case.

Peridot did not cut a very imposing figure. Thin as a rail, science visor, and cowardly in the face of true danger. But where Jasper was imposing and dangerous on a personal level, Peridot represented a more high-scale danger in the right situation. And she was about to bring that over whelming force down on any threat to her person.

Corona can see the giant green warship slowly begin to turn. The fingers tips beginning to glow. A slow attack, but one that would be sure to wreak massive devastation when it fired.

"Identity yourselves." Peridot yelled, her voice being amplified by the pod. "I will need to accurately document your impending deaths for my logs." Meanwhile the pod hummed loudly as its thrusters fought the ground based vehicles pull. Mostly unsuccessful thanks to a few basic laws of physics, however it was at least slowing down its' descent.
Jasper      "Shut up," Jasper snaps, as Reina begins to speak. She advances, stomping her way towards Reina. Alexis' fire finds its mark and Jasper /laughs/. The shells hit her, seeming to penetrate into her body, but Jasper doesn't seem to care. If it hurts, that pain only seems to press her onwards. It's going to be a real slugging match to bring her down.

     And then, suddenly, she charges.

Jasper blitzes Reina at full speed, pulling up just in front of her so she can slam her fist agaisnt Reina's head. As Maaka sprints to reach her, Jasper's form glows and /shifts/, the titanic Gem becoming something more like a crackling comet of energy. That comet streaks out to slam into Maaka and then back towards Reina, so Jasper can continue her melee, leaving smoking, charred earth in her wake.
Alexis Maaka     When you fight in the multiverse, you tend to become accustomed to some crazy stuff on day to day operations. People flinging magic, aliens from beyond our stars, ghosts other forms of the undead, the list goes on.

They never covered spinning energy ball attacks in the pamphlets.

Alexis shouts in surprise as Jasper streaks towards her like a missile, knocking her right off her feet upon impact and leaving a crater six inches deep. It /hurts/; like being hit by a truck, only more so. In spite of this, Alexis just dismisses her PDW before she picks herself back up.

Then she recalls her grapple, before charges at Jasper.

Firing the grapple at Jasper, Alexis /pulls/. She pulls in an effort to bring the Gem flying off-target, in order for Reina to get in a good hit or two before the gem can get back up. "HIT HER NOW!" She calls to the GUARDIAN, and that's that.
Reina Kinney     As Jasper tells Reina to shut up, she sneers a little. "Why should I? I'm the good girl, you're the bad girl! The good has to punish the bad!" Of course, Reina may want to rethink her comments right then and there, given how Jasper is attempting to charge right at her at a very high rate of speed. And while Reina has a personal shield around her, it's not one-hundred percent protective. Especially of a larger-than-average woman coming at her quickly attempting to punch her in the head. The red-head attempts to twist to the side and jump backwards, but before she can, Jasper has already punched her, and her shields haven't got time to activate because of how fast the attack is. She cries out as the fist smashes into her head, causing her to go spinning onto the ground. The arrogant, sarcastic smile is replaced by a look of dazedness and confusion. And poor Reina is looking like she's just been hit by a bus or something.

"Ungh... uhh... I'm sorry I'm late for work, boss," Reina babbles as she struggles to push herself back onto her feet. "The train operator had to stop and use the restroom when we were halfway there." Apparently, falling over had made her inadvertently dodge the incoming attack from Jasper, meaning that it could've been a LOT worse. As Reina gets back to her feet, she shakes her head and slaps it a few times, trying to get the babbling to stop, and it's only then she realizes just how hard she was hit.

"Owww... dammit that hurt!" Reina says, holding her head. "Gonna need a few aspirin after this!" Her thoughts are interrupted when Alexis calls out at her to hit Jasper now, and Reina doesn't relent. She takes out her energy pistols again and fires off a pair of shots quickly. "Eat this, you big body!" She cries out.
Corona Arclite As the pod strains the chain pulls taunt, and Corona shifts the truck into reverse to pull back, reinforced wheels digging into the ground struggling for traction.

"Whal maybe you oughta considered somethin' other than blowin' the place to pieces in the process." She ducks back into the cab for a moment, locking the throttle down in reverse and then putting her boots on the steering wheel to push herself up through the hatch in top of the cab instead. "Name's Corona Arclite. Best engineer Brimsteel has to offer." She grabs the crane arm over the cab and pulls herself onto it. The ship turning back towards them is notice, but it's a bit out of her range at the moment. "As fer loggin' deaths."

Nimbly she sprints up the length of the crane arm, pulling out her Breaker as she does so. At the end of the arm she actually takes a few steps along the chain before leaping off. "Yer bein' a bit presumpcious there!"

She's leaping right towards Peridot's pod, gripping the Corona Breaker with both hands and swinging it at the gem machine!
Jasper      There's a lot of momentum in Jasper's charge, so, when Alexis pulls her off-target, Jasper goes flying. She slams into a bunker wall, denting it beneath her impact, and takes a moment to extract herself from the metal plating, looking just a little worse for wear "Yes, try it!" Jasper calls to Reina, "I haven't had a good joke in a long time!"

The pair of energy shots strike Jasper dead-centre. She's not even trying to dodge. They stagger her, driving her back against the wall of the bunker. Smoke rises from the scorch marks on her chest. They're not burns, more like a stone has been charred and blackened. Her body's not real, after all - merely a projection. A very strong, very angry projection.

Jasper raises her head, grinning wide enough to show off her fangs, and with a burst of golden energy, she summons her crash helmet to her forehead. It's a big thing, a helmet paradoxically designed to crush.

She charges Reina again, and Jasper goes to bring the prow on her helmet down on Reina again, to drive her down. Then, in a quick one-two blow, Jasper goes to drop her knee and all of her considerable weight on Reina!

With Reina occupied, Jasper turns, gripping a sizable plate of metal debris in her hands, and hurls that at Alexis, setting it spinning like a sharp-edged top!
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "There's the law of savlage here? Did you ask about things here?"

She does however now seem to be going for a weapon which appears in hand which seem to be some sort of typical sub machinegun of some sort. Kotone's MM is now holstered and she's getting on the move trying to keep with Corona while she moves to engage the drones.

"Kotone Yamakawa, the last time we met you were willing to talk!"

She calls out before movit to pick up with high speed she's going to attempt to deal with any of the drones that might try to go after Corona while she's engaging Peridot and Kotone is certianly moving a heck of a lot faster than a average human might too.

"I'll cover your back Corona!"
Reina Kinney     Reina is hit by the crash helmet and while it may protect Jasper from hurting herself, Reina isn't so lucky. The helmet acts as a weapon against Reina, who drops to the ground like a sack of potatoes. And now Jasper wants to drop her weight onto Reina? Not quite.

Just before Reina is crushed by Jasper's knee, she... vanishes?! Is this a form of illusion also? Is she a magician?

Nope, Reina thought quickly and activated the teleporter on her ship, saving her from being crushed by Jasper! Unfortunately, Reina can't stay on there forever, and she teleports back to the surface again, albeit still crumpled. "Too close... but not close enough," Reina says as she struggles to get up.

Turning to face Jasper, she's about to fire, but then stops, realizing it would be futile. "Maybe I need something with more power?" Reina raises her hand and calls out "BARTA!" Sending forth a chilling blast of ice magic across the ground towards Jasper!
Peridot     "Identification logged." Peridot said with some measure of importance. Logs and documentation were rather important to her after all. High above them in the sky, the whine of the Warship grew louder as it reached peak charging capacity. "Your laws mean nothing to us." She answers coldly.

Corona's hammer swings down slamming into the green pod, sending a large crack through the machine and giving her a glimpse of the green-skinned woman inside. Another swing like that and she might break her way into the gooey scientist at it's core.

However the warship had its' target, it had previously been locked on to the source of the problem, Corona's rig. It was intending on freeing the floating green pod. "Firing main lasers." Peridot said out loud, and presses a button on her holopad. "Die!"

A beam suddenly shrieked to existence, and lanced through the air creating a perfect circle in the clouds as they were pushed aside. The smell of burnt ozone filling the air The massive charge of energy was heading right towards Corona's ride, promising to deliver a devastating blow unless something drastic was done.
Alexis Maaka     The shard of debris flung nearly slices into Maaka, before she slides underneath it without breaking stride, running at top speed at the massive Gem warrior before she does osmething a bit crazy.

She drops her shoulder, and straight up bowls into Jasper from behind while Reina has the gem's attention. Roaring like an angry steer, she shouldertackles Jasper before she follows that up with a punch.

She's strong enough to tear open SUVs with little effort, and she puts the force of a jackhammer into what Alexis assumes would be where Jasper's kidney would be had she been born with organs.

The moment she strikes, electricity arcs through Jasper and a burst of kinetic energy is poured into the punch, like a micro-pilebunker combined with a taser. And then Alexis does this again, and again, throwing punches that would cause ribcages to collapse and lungs to puncture were Jasper a regular human being.
Corona Arclite With a grunt Corona kicks the harpoon holding onto the pod to dislodge it. As soon as the resistance is gone her rig wheels backwards wildly. The sudden movement causes the laser to miss it directly, but the blast slamming into the ground causes a big enough explosion to still flip the vehicle over backwards, causing quite a crunch as topples aside.

Well that was better than it blowing up, prehaps. At least it was still fixable. Hopefully.

"Now where was Ah.." But Corona slings the hammer to her back again. Instead she pulls down her goggles, and clenchs one gloved hand into a fist. The machinery built into her workgloves whirrs to life, gears clicking and spinning to protrude a nozzle. Which then flares to life with a plasma-like cutting torch. Which she holds up, grinning at Peridot inside the pod as she winds back her arm as if readying to punch with it. "Maybe y'all shouldn't of been making such a ruckus then!"

Better think fast before she finishes what she started breaking, Peridot.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa starts to get an understanding about some of Peridot's world view. She doens't seme tyo hold respect for anything but her own kind's lsaws. So there's not much she can do about talking at this point, now can she? She locked in combat andf she keeps shooting trying to keep the drones under control but well PEridot does warrent some shots as Kotone lets off a burst of fire , but then comes the solar beam and she's forced to back off not firing as long as burst as she'd have liked.
Peridot     "Ah." a bead of sweat rolls down Peridot's face as the hull of her pod is cracked open. The laser slams into the ground near by, over turning Corona's rig, and bathing the immediate area in fire, ash and vaporized dirt. The surrounding trees are consumed in fire, creating a harsh red glow that contrast with the green glow of the looming war vessel. The local ecosystem was going to take a major hit as a result of this battle.

However, her pod was now free of the harpoon, giving her some wiggle room. She sticks her hands into the holo-controls and sends the pod into a wild spin in an effort to throw the intruder off. However if she manages to hold on she might be able to get in.

Kotone's shots find their target on the outer hull of the pod, however given the crazy erratic movement, Corona best be careful she doesn't accidentally take friendly fire!

Meanwhile, the war ship begins to glow once more, charging up another shot. Where would this one land?
Corona Arclite Fortunately Corona has plenty of experience in hanging onto wildly moving machinery, it was practically a requirement of her job. The heavy steampunk machinery on her homeworld was a lot bigger and more ornery than the rig she drive in on, especially when it wasn't working right. She does have to scooch a bit to avoid friendly fire, though.

That ship was looming overhead, but she didn't really have big cannon or anything to use back on it. So she's sticking on going after the one that's seemingly in control of it.

By using the plasma torch to just punch her way into Peridot's pod if she's got to. "Yer not really encouragin' anyone to give anything to ya with that attitude, y'know!"
Peridot     "Hnng." Peridot grimaced. "It was stolen from us! We're within our right to take it back!" Peridot grit her teeth, glancing at her various holo-screens as the numbers flashed by. This battle was becoming less and less cost effective as time went by. Peridot soon calculated that it would surpass the point through which they would create a net-gain in resources even if they got the abandoned ships they had come for.

    "Graahh."

"Jasper. We're retreating!" She said into her holopad. She then eyed Corona. She'd have to be dealt with. "And you, furbeast." Peridot turned her holopad so Corona could see the visual display. "You've seen what the laser is capable of up close." The displayed image was the town the military installation was connected to. Peridot traced her finger in a circle around the outskirts of the town.

The charged laser from the Warship erupted, and created a line of explosions and fire surrounding the civilian population. The image updated to show the burning buildings, and chaos. However, Peridot had been careful to not out-right destroy the town but put it imminent danger- more danger than the nearby elites could handle on their own. Destroying it would not serve her purposes. She needed to give Corona a more important task than beating her face, satisfying as that may be. Publicly voicing her retreat was another aspect of the 'avoid getting beaten' strategy. Creating a clear path to minimize further loss of life.  "Get off my ship." She grumbled.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa is just trying to keep Corona supported while she's fighting there doesn't seem to be to much of a full out lethal intent here. She does however hold her fire as Corona gets up close and personal with the Gem.

"Your are but there are other means that over a pile of bodies!"

She gets the drones the Gems use are just that or so she thinks. When Peridot calls out a retreat Kotone lowers her weapon and she shakes her head a little bit.

She breaks off and is going to go help the Civilians that she's able to help. Corona should be all right to get out also she calls over the comm.

<<Corona it's not worth going after her further if she's pulling out. Things are a mess as it is right now!>>
Reina Kinney     The enemy is retreating abruptly, and for Reina, that's perfectly fine. She's suffered enough for one battle right now. "Go on, run. Next time, I'm gonna get you good!" She smiles a little, but then her body reminds her it's in pain, and she drops to one knee. "Damn, looks like I'll be having another drink on the rocks tonight..."
Corona Arclite "Even if it was, that don't give ya no right to just go blastin' and trashin' everythin' else tryin' to get it back!" Was that a double negative in there? That's probably as annoying as Corona about to smash her way until the pod.

At least until the cannon starts tearing up collateral damage. Sure, the people evacuated from the fight, but if that fire spreads out like that there's not going to be anywhere else for them to get away to.

Though for a moment it looks like Corona's still going to do it, before she finally just leans close enough to sneer at Peridot and her screen. "Next time ya might not be so lucky..." And then jumps off the pod, deploying her portable glider long enough to get back to the ground. <<Already on it, Koto.>>

She jumps up and leans into the cab of her truck, and with a bit of finaggling manages to turn the crane and use its boom to push the rig back up on it's wheels. She climbs in, and after a few sputters gets the internal furnace engine running again.

Fortunatelly the drill still works, the ridged cone spinning in one direction while the grinder around the base rotates in the opposite one. Lowering it to the ground as she drives away Corona can dig a firebreak channel between the wall of flame and the rest of the town.
Jasper      Jasper glowers at Reina as she reappears. "Neat trick - too bad, though, it won't be enough." The ice magic blasts into her, rocking Jasper back on her heels, and ice begins to form over the edges of her body, along the lines of her gem, binding her hair like cold spiderwebs. For a moment, Jasper stops completely, her form flickering...

And then Jasper /flexes/, shattering the ice that had started to encase her.

Before she can strike, however, Alexis is upon her. Her fist slams home, hard and fast, and Jasper stumbles forwards. If Jasper were a human, it would have been a debilitating blow. But it's hard to tell if Jasper even has organs. She turns, her face an expression of unbridled fury, and meets Alexis' furious fists with her torso. Jasper falls back, the blows apparently having some sort of effect! She lets out a pained grunt-

-and then goes to slam her helmet, crushing prow and all, down atop Alexis' skull!

Jasper howls in bestial fury and then leaps the distance between her and Reina, one foot extended for one hell of a kick as she lands!
Alexis Maaka     Alexis growls as the fight is called off, clutching her side as she glances to Reina. "Let it go. We gotta take care of the remaining civs, c'mon." She'll stick around, but only to first hail Corona and Kotone. <<We need to focus on civilians. Kotone's right->>

That doesn't last, as she's knocked back on her ass by Jasper from a single headbutt. "...okay."

She springs back to her feet again, drawing a shotgun from her MM before blasting repeatedly at the Gem's back. "You've already been given the order to bug out, you're wasting time and resources just staying here! WHY are you still here?" She roars over the fire of shotgun shells, trying to force the retreat.
Reina Kinney     Reina's not about to let Jasper have her way anymore. She uses the teleport ability to return to her craft once again, then teleports back down, shaking her head. "If I keep doing this, Laia's gonna chew me out, so let's hope she just learns her lesson and leaves us alone!" She starts running away, wanting to help Alexis with the civilians. "She does that again I'm really gonna be peeved!"
Peridot     Peridot let out a sigh of relief. While she wasn't completely helpless, she absolutely preferred to avoid fighting when given the opportunity. At the very least, she preferred not to fight enemies with unknown capabilities. Which was almost everyone she encountered and she would gladly put several human lives at risk in order to ensure her own safety. A strategy that had a rather reliable success rate when she found herself at war with the union.

She frowned and tapped in a few commands. The robonoids disengaged the local military and began to congregate around Jasper. Meanwhile, Peridot took control of the damaged pod, as sparks flew everywhere in the large opening Corona had created. "Jasper!" Peridot screamed into the radio set again.

"Let's go! This mission is no longer cost effective. I am terminating it."
Jasper      "Because this fight isn't done! You're so weak, human!" Jasper snarls at Alexis, turning to face her - and eating another shotgun blast straight to the torso. Jasper staggers, obviously injured, torso flickering. However, the veritable juggernaut of the Homeworld Gems just seems to have an unending ability to absorb punishment. "With all the chaos of battle, I must have misheard-"

She can't 'forget' to hear Peridot's next command, though, given that she's actually screaming. Jasper seems to consider it though. One second of refusal stretches into two, then three.

"I'll be back for you," Jasper tells Alexis. The large Gem makes a hasty retreat, leaping towards the ship, and then hurling herself towards it as she grips the tallest point of a ruined bunker. A brief burst of golden energy, and Jasper is a comet, streaking away from the battle!
Alexis Maaka     Alexis actually blanches being called weak. That said, she's been battered and bruised by this massive alien titan, a living war machine that has laid waste to innumberable worlds, murdered countless beings inhabiting each and every one.

And yet, Alexis, this augmented soldier for hire, is staring her down with a cracked visor glaring daggers as she fires the last shell in her shotgun. The order comes through once more just as Alexis runs dry, and she just opens her visor right as Jasper is about to leap off.

"ANy time, any place, you ugly bitch! I'll be waiting for you!!" she calls out, her rage stoic but still evident.

She is going to *enjoy* wiping that smile off of Jasper's ugly mug next time.
