Scene #3298: Rebound's New York Nights

Rebound	Another night in New York. Rebound's New York is different than a lot of variations of New York. Aliens, mutants, vigilantes. And yet the average citizen seems blissfully unaware of these sorts of things. At the moment, the Purple Dragons are currently attempting to extort a business owner, an all night laundry location, for protection money. Little do they know they're being watched from across the street. Rebound has been tracking these guys for a while, so as soon as they're inside, she moves up to the edge of the building and then slips inside. She's waiting until the opporitune moment. "Hey old man, it's that time of the month." Says the leader of the Dragons as he taps the baseball bat in his hand against his bare palm. "But I already paid this month!" The old man says, trying to keep them from taking all of his money, or smashing up his shop, "Insurance rates increased, pops." Says the second one, turning with his bat to smash the front of a washing machine. That's enough for Rebound. She moves out from her hiding place and grabs the leader of the group from behind, twisting around to shoulder throw him into the ground. "Oh hell, it's one of them mutants!" Says the third one, taking his baseball bat and swinging it at Rebound, only to have her catch it in one of her armored gauntlets, and crush the bat with her hand, "You boys really should get going. I think you're out past your bed time." The two that are still standing go and pick up the first and run for it. Rebound follows them out, and then once she's sure they're gone, hops away and up onto a nearby rooftop.
Tesla Armadia	The watcher is watching, but who's watching the watcher? Watching her through a pair of highly advanced tactical goggles no less as the mutant roo goes about her nightly 'business' of busting up crooks and being an unknown hero. Amazing how little this world notices this thing going on right under their noses, in stark contrast to the 'superhero' driven world her master has spent the last few months poking and prodding at. But now that those problems were dealth with, attention could be turned to other ones. Like some of the -other- people that have stuck fingers and fists in the mastermind's endeavours. Then the fight was over and with a jerk of her head Lunessa snapped the goggles back up to her forehead. Time to go reintroduce herself. A quick sprint and she leaps off of the high rooftop she was watching from, the boosters built into her leg armor giving her an extra bit of air time. A quick dash off another roof and the leap that follows brings the cybernetic she-wolf down on the same rooftop as the mutant, landing in a three-point stance that still hits with enough force to minorly crack the foundation beneath her. "Well well, look who I found."
Rebound	Kind of hard to be stealthy when one is a large cybernetic wolf. Rebound whirls around and drops into a combat stance when Lunessa lands behind her, "Oh, you." She says, fists clenched and held defensively for now, "What are you doing here?" She asks, eyes narrowing before she glances around, trying to see if anyone else is around. She's planning on an escape route if needed, but she's willing to find out what Lunessa wants before she does anything offensive or defensive. One can't blame her for being on the defensive already, though.
Tesla Armadia	Fangs are bared in a predatory grin as Lunessa pushes herself up into a still partially crouching stance. Some sort of amusement, prehaps, at how simple the answer is to the way that question was phrased. "Obviously. I'm here for -you-." There's a brief pause as she half clenches her hands, causing arcs of ionization to crackle around the metallic claws tipping her fingers. Nevermind that she's got those two very visible even if not activated cannons jutting up from her back. "You've made yourself of interest to my boss." Her tail flicks to the side a few times as she takes a slow but metholodically menacing step forward without rising from her crouched stance. "But that's what happens when you cross the affairs of an evil genius."
Rebound	"If you wanna throw down, I'm not opposed to it." Rebound replies, "Your boss should come on out herself next time if she's really interested. I think I deserve a bit more than lackeys." Rebound can toss out the insults when she wants to. She shifts her weight just a bit as Lunessa comes closer, those gauntlets lighting up as the pulsarium energy begins to flow into them.
Tesla Armadia	Lunessa emits a growling chuckle through those sharp teeth. "She likes to test potential subjects first." Followed by a sort of half shrug. "It's a scientist thing. Besides." Another manevolent step forward. "You're not exactly an easy freak to find when you're not appearing on TV kicking ass for millions of viewers." Good enough reason to send your tracker-terminator first, right? Not that there's long to mull over that fact as it's after saying such that Lunessa goes from stalk to strike in a blink of an eye, lunging towards the prize fighter with a swipe of those energized claws!
Rebound	Claws strike against those metal gauntlets and Rebound falls backwards, trying to deflect the blow and then kick out with one of her legs, driving forward to bring the agression back towards Lunessa. "You wanna test me, fine. I'll let you know I did really well in school, I aced every test, and now I'll ace you!" She follows up with the kick by swinging around with her left hand to try to slam one of those gauntlets into Lunessa.
Tesla Armadia	The claw swipe scores a hit, but the follow-thru motion brings Lunessa right into the counterattack with little time or chance to adjust. The kick catchs her midsection, in what looks like it's not armored, but the resistance Rebound would feel her foot again tells a more true tale that her opponent has more durability than what's visible to the eye. The hunter stumbles back from the blow, but she recovers quick enough to catch the punch that follows in one of her hands, energy crackling between them from both her energized claws and the gauntlets. "I'd make a crack about school of hard knocks, but I'm pretty sure we've both been through those classes." Lunessa uses he grip to yank forward, pulling Rebound towards her and then twisting her body to slam her armored forearm into the side of the roo-girl's head.
Rebound	Getting yanked back in causes Rebound to take the blow to the side of her head and knock her backwards, her tail thankfully keeping her upright. She takes a moment to shake her head and then rushes back in, ducking low and then sweeping around to deliver a roundhouse kick towards the side of the cyborg. She's going to follow up with the kick, however, continuing to twist around and kick out with her other leg, balancing on her tail as she kicks the second leg towards Lunessa's torso to try to knock her back and put space between the two.
Tesla Armadia	Either Lunessa or her creator had to have watched some of those WMAT fights, because she reads that attack fast enough to turn her body and use an arm to catch Rebound's leg against her body. Unfortunately that's only the first part of the attack, and the second twist and kick catchs her right as she was pulling back her other arm to strike with her claws again, and there is an audible sound somewhere between flesh and metal being smacked as the large roo fight slams into the side of her head. The impact breaks her grip as she's knocked backwards from the kick, getting that space Rebound wanted. Debatably if that's a good thing though. Seeing as even as Lunessa is getting back onto her feet her right arm and armor shift, expanding and extending to lock into place in the form of a large blaster arm-cannon, which is raised and fired at the mutant. It's actually kind of hard to tell just how it fires, because the projectile is some kind of energy but it's in a concentrated burst more like a ballistic shell than a laser weapon.
Rebound	Rebound takes the shot pretty square center, getting knocked for a loop but thankfully not getting outright killed by it. Still she rolls up to her feet. It's at that moment that a kunai blade lands in the space between the two of them. "FOOT! Capture both of the mutants, for the glory of Master Shredder!" The one yelling is a massive wolf, looking to be made out of bone, razor sharp claws. He's surrounded by a whole lot of guys in ninja suits wielding all kinds of various ninja weapons, "Oh come on, not now Rahzar! I'm a little busy!" Rebound yells, spinning around to kick one of the ninjas in the face. Lunessa is going to find them coming after her as well, two with katanas and one with a kusarigama, whipping the hook around as he approaches, trying to get an angle to attack her from.
Tesla Armadia	Lunessa was starting to charge up a second blast, but the blade in the middle of the fight cuts her off. She turns her head a little in the direction it came from, and lets out a snarl. "Hey, that's rude!" Vague wave in Rebound's direction. "At least I didn't go interrupting her tournament duels to try and kill her!" Then she turns and solves one problem just by firing the shot she was going to take at Rebound at the guy with the kusarigama while he's showing boating spinning it around. At least she's not the sort that stands there gawking stupidly. Then as she pulls back with the recoil her other arm shifts to her side, and the techno-scabbard at her lower back shifts out so she can grab the handle and pull out her energy sword, just in time to deflect one of the ninja katanas. Rather than stand still however, she deftly moves to the side, forcing the other ninja to have to go around his allie to get to her, so she doesn't have to try and deter both of them at once. "And for your information I am not a mutant, I am an artifically generated biomechanical entity."
Rebound	Rahzar doesn't seem to be joining the fight himself for now, instead letting the Footbots do the work. And yes they are robots, because when Lunessa blasts one, it gets shredded and reveals it's a robot inside of there. The ones attacking Rebound seem to be getting pretty handily worked over too, as she evades weapon strikes and strikes back at her own. "You're still not human, and that's good enough for me!" Rahzar calls back to Lunessa, as she takes down two more Footbots, only to have three more appear behind her, each of them now sporting four arms, with a large mace head on one arm and a chainsaw on the other.
Tesla Armadia	"I think you're forgetting something." Unfortunately for the Foot-bots chainsaws are not a very stealthy weapon (not very ninja at all really) and Lunessa spins around to shove her energy sword right through it's torso, then pull upward to bisect it in two. The other robots look like they've got a a clear charge at the cyborg while she's dismantling the other unit... but one gets bowled over abruptly by a surge of movement. The other turns in the direction it came from, only to get nailed with laser beams from the shoulder gun of several more robotic non-anthro wolves jumping up onto the rooftop. "Wolves travel in packs!" One of the wolf-drones even grabs one of the Foot harassing Rebound by the leg in its jaws, and after crushing the limb yanks it down and throws it off the building. It was probably just because they're not making a distinction between enemies rather than helping her. Because one has to wonder how long it would of been before Lunessa called those in on -her- had their fight not been interrupted....
Rebound	The sudden arrival of the wolf bots throws the Footbots into chaos, as they get taken out by the large animalistic robots. Rebound is holding her own, but then the wolf takes out one of the Foot sneaking up on her. "Fine, I'll do it myself." Rhazar says, as he jumps down onto the rooftop, "I'll deal with you in a minute, kangaroo!" He yells at Rebound, turning to charge at Lunessa and try to smash her from behind.
Tesla Armadia	Despite hearing him yell at Rebound, Lunessa has to pull her sword out of the Footbot she just gouged with it, and can't turn around before Rahzar slams into her with his bone-bladed body. The energy sword is knocked from her hands as she's sent tumbling from the blow, then manages to roll onto all fours and skid to a stop. As she gets up a port in her arm opens up and deploys a small nuzzle, that she points and fires some sort of energy tether at Rahzar. "Now now, there's no need to keep her waiting." Lunessa heaves on the tether, but instead of yanking the bone-wolf towards her, she swings him in Rebound's direction. Either he's going to slam into her, or Rebound is going to slam him. She doesn't particularly care either way.
Rebound	Turning around she spots the now swinging bone werewolf flying towards her. Rebound jumps up and latches onto him as Lunessa swings him on the energy tether. Since his hands are bound to his sides, Rebound takes advantage of this to punch him in the face multiple times as Lunessa swings the two of them around. She however dives off of him when she gets close enough and then throws a powered Impact Driver shot at Lunessa, trying to impact her and knock her off the roof while the big wolf is still attatched to her.
Tesla Armadia	Likely Lunessa intended to throw them both off the rooftop, but Rebound jumps off just as she's deactivating the tether to release Rahzar flying. Which turns into a flying power punch when the maneuver also slams into her with a charge burst from one of the Drivers. Which sends Lunessa flying in the other direction. She goes over the edge but grabs onto it before she falls farther, and with a kick of her feet against the wall pushes herself back onto the rooftop. The small robotic arm from the scabbard grabs her dropped sword and auto-sheaths it back in its slot. "What the frag was that guy's problem? Other than the obvious hating, I mean."
Rebound	"He works for the Shredder." Replies Rebound, "Crazy ninja guy with an army of robots who hates mutants." She shakes her head a bit, "Listen can we just call this one a draw and try again later? I really don't feel like fighting you more after that." She rises back up to her feet, "Look if your master wants to come here, tell her to come talk to me face to face. I might be in the Union but I'm not opposed to working together for a common goal. But if she wants to cause trouble, I'll stop her."
Tesla Armadia	Lunessa grunts as she rubs the back of her hand against where her chest armor was cracked by the Impact Driver, and snorts softly. "It wouldn't be a proper challenge after someone else tried to rough us both up, anyways." As close of an agreement as you're likely to get on that regard. As she turns Lunessa gives a low cross between a whistle and a growl, and the wolf-drones immeadiately stop chewing on the remains of Footbots to follow after her. "Don't worry, it's not the last you'll see of me, or her." And with that cyber-wolf and drones bound off across the rooftops to disappear into the night.
Rebound	"Well that was weird, even for here." Rebound mutters, as she goes to head back to her hideout. At least this time she'll be able to take a shower and then maybe figure out what the wolfess was up to other than tracking her down. Probably a lot more than she cares to admit.
