Shinki     It's evening at the Academy and most likely, it's still bustling and busy even at this time of night. Classes for various students, people on late night study sessions and your general night owls inhabiting the place, scurrying along the ground like rats in a cage. It looks to be just a normal night here at the Academy, however, strange red circles slowly appear on various buildings, giving off a peculiar glow and the feel of dark magic to those who can sense it.

Behind those portals, two figures with another twenty five behind them give a soft smile. "Yuki, is this the place that Alice told us about? It looks neat, I know She will like it here if we can get rid of those pesky people here. It's just a school, so how bad could it be?" Mai smirks, looking out of the portal to some of the grounds around, oh how she was going to have some fun burning a few things. She moves forward to the portal, only to be held back by the second figure, "Of course, Mai, however, patience. We're missing one person tonight. She isn't this late normally." Yuki smiles, patting that shoulder, "Yuki, she left us in favor of Marisa... you know her, right? The girl who beat both of us up... and helped Her raze Makai?"

"I'm aware, but patience Mai. We'll get our time..."
Sanary Rondel      Sanary's staying late at the Academy tonight, partially to catch up on her assignments and partially because she might have dozed off during one of her morning classes. Yesterday was a long day, after all, and she hasn't had enough time to recover! At least there's still decent food around campus, and the healer's strolling about in the central court with a sandwich in one hand and a cup of nondescript soda in the other.

A nice, leisurely stroll to take a break from all that work and fatigue. Surely nothing could go wrong tonight!
Kyra Hyral     Yesterday was indeed a long day. Kyra had actually spent most of the time recovering at her apartment with Dominic. Late at night she decided to swing by the Academy since she wanted to hit the library and do some research. Surely something about a weird-ass-looking dragon man has showed up SOMEWHERE in Galiandan history, right?

Thus, Kyra is here, burning the midnight oil in the library.
Marisa Kirisame 'Just a school' is not exactly the most accurate description of Alexander Academy. This is a place that trains heroes. A school that churns out the bright new leaders of Galianda. While not all of them are necessarily engaging in martial pursuits, a great number of them ARE. Black mages and summoners, samurai and ninja and knights, this place teaches them all.

And, more recently, it teaches someone else entirely.

Marisa Kirisame rests in the courtyard, her back against the soft earth. Overhead is a sky of unfamiliar stars. But they're stars all the same, so Marisa stargazes all the same. Notably- and maybe a bit disconcertingly- she's in... a uniform.

An Alexander Academy uniform.

In Gensokyo, she's Number Two, and quite possibly even more famous than the Hakurei Shrine Maiden herself. Here, though, she's just another student... Though that's not quite accurate either. She's the mysterious sorceress who took down the lady in the library, and the crazy adrenaline junky who's been teaching the local kids to be UTTERLY TERRIBLE PEOPLE of the 'fill the sky full of bullets' variety. So, she's not exactly unknown.

Still, it's a different sort of fame.

Right now though, she's got something on her mind. So she's stargazing. The stars always help her think.
Souji Murasame It's a fine evening at the academy, and a perfect time for Souji Murasame to spend a moment in the aftermath of so much... foolishness... to take a moment to relax and orient himself.

Such as it is that he sits at a table set up in the middle of the courtyard on a cushion, a piping hot teapot steaming on some rocks in the center of the table as he relaxes with a cup of tea and some delicately seasoned fish on rice. He doesn't seem to care that it's a public area, and the table, silverware, and china present are all of the Very Expensive type, being varnished rare woods, authentic old pottery styles, and actual precious metals.

He may be disciplined and somewhat spartan, but he /is/ rich and he /does/ enjoy some of the benefits of his station.

Regardless, it seems that either Souji is either willfully ignoring the portals on the buildings, or not noticing them. It seems to be difficult at the moment to tell which.
Cirra Constantine     Cirra Constantine has had no choice but to rest up after last night. And it's taken until now for the Judge to feel up to getting up and about. The silver haired girl walks cros the courtyard towards the cafeteria. There are rumors that she only ever eats with the prince's family, which are blatently untrue. She just eats when it isn't rush hour. She pauses as she sees Murasame and sighs a little before moving on. "Rondel." she says in cursory passing greeting as she passes the other girl.
Shinki     Mai frowns, "I really don't want to wait, so... I'm going!" Yuki shakes her head and sighs, following the black robed girl "You know, she'll be angry if you conti...." "I don't care! I'm tired of waiting and that damn cat miko needs to pay! And that laser witch needs to pay too!" the entire troupe slowly pours out of the portal, big enough for two people side by side. Yuki exits one portal, a quick look is glanced over to the leaving Souji and ten of the devils are behind her.

Mai hops out of one portal and her fifteen pile out and quickly take the sky, moving to land on the roof of the nearby building. "Now why did Alice send us here?" Yuki questions to herself and the ten behind her, ten shrugs given and then move to take flight on another building. "Alright... Here we go I think. We'll wait for Mai's movement, I swear, she's holding me back..."
Sanary Rondel      A nice, relaxing night, a good (if overpriced) sandwich, and an overly sugared up drink. Yep. The only thing that could make this night better (or at least less tiring) would be finding some familiar faces to eat with! Just her luck, then, that the first familiar face is Cirra's. "Ah? Hey, Cirra. Didn't know you were around here tonight." For better or for worse, she's even decided to follow after her for lack of anyone else to bother. Sure, the lady's still scary, but... Eating alone is boring. "You eat dinner yet?"

Luckily for Cirra, however, Sanary then spots Souji and Marisa in that same courtyard, and she raises her sandwich quickly to wave it in greeting. "Evening, Souji! Hey, Marisa!" Subtlety clearly isn't something she has in mind at the moment. The fact that she could probably be a little quieter considering the time is also probably lost on her. "You two hungry? Four of us could grab a spot and..."

She trails off, her gaze shifting to those figures on the rooftops. She can't quite make out who they are just yet, and they could also just be really large birds. She just keeps her eye on them for now.
Kyra Hyral     Kyra rubs her eyes, then nods forward, her face planting into the top of the table she sits at. This wakes her up immediately and she yawns, the midnight oil very well expended. "Ugh." With a groan, she gathers up her gear, puts away the book on history she had been pouring through before she nodded off, and gets up to leave.

Minutes later, the white mage trudges out of the building, digging through her backpack to withdraw a sandwich. Sleepily, Kyra stuffs the sandwich in her mouth as she walks.
Souji Murasame Souji does not give Cirra any particular notice at her distaste. He's above sniping with the Prince's bodyguard/shipping target over such things. Sanary's arrival causes Souji to actually stir, and he gestures. "You are welcome to join me at the table if you wish, Miss Rondel." Notably, he hasn't extended the same offer to Cirra, but before he can engage in a Chain Scorn Combo, he arches an eyebrow, shifting his gaze towards the little beings lining the building tops. "Hmm... Is it a monster incursion?" He asks. "You should ready your weapons, Rondel."

Souji, notably, simply picks up his cup of tea once more and takes another sip, pausing only to glance over towards Kyra. "Kyra. Studying late, I see. Unusual for you."
Cirra Constantine     "I'm fine." Cirra murmurs, "I haven't had dinner." Souji uses stealth snobbery. "Murasame would rather flant his mother's tabelware then risk socialising with the 'common folk'." She closes her eyes but pauses.

Turning to look at the rooftops, she frowns. Her hand clenches and the Judge Blade forms in her hand. She's still weary from yesterday. This might suck.
Marisa Kirisame     It's weird. Each universe has its own sky, and its own set of stars. It's not just a matter of seeing alien constellations, these aren't even the same stars as the ones back in Gensokyo. The multiverse is big, infinite even. You'd need to be infinite yourself to go and see it all, but--

Oh hey there's a Sanary. That's a much better thing to think about.

"Hey," Marisa calls, stretching a bit along the lawn. She shifts, curling up into a lazy sit. "How's it goin', Sanary? You holdin' up alright?" After what happened... Well, news does come down through the grape-vine. Her eyes flicker towards Souji, then, and the witch flashes a positively radiant grin, "Oh, the boss-guy's here too. Didn't even notice y' were there, buddy."

It's almost... obnoxiously friendly. That may in fact be the point.

Back to Sanary, then. Marisa nods. "I could go for some grub, sure. You have an idea in..." She blinks once. Twice.

"...What?" She cranes her neck over toward the rooftop, squinting her eyes against the dark, "Is there somethin' goin'... on?" It's like a thundercloud settles over the normally cheerful witch. Marisa shoots up like a bullet, her hand reaching out to beckon her broom to her hand. "I'll be back," she says, hopping onto her loyal steed. A burst of light fills the courtyard, Marisa rockets off into the sky.

"Hey! You guys," she roars over at the two shadows on the rooftop, "The heck are you /doing/ here!?"
Shinki     Mai peeks herself, along with the koakuma behind her, over the lip of the roof, "Mmm, so many humans, maybe we can have them do things for us instead..." she smirks, the black robed demon's hand twitches slightly, ready to start slinging spells. "Alice will like a few things here... and She will like the large buildings. Wonder what we'll use some of the other rubble for, oh well, I'll let her decide that for herself."

Yuki frowns softly, that look on Mai's face, she's seen it before... oh well, nothing she can do about that one. For now, she and the rest of her own troupe float off to another roof, getting in a better position. "Hmm, I wonder... is that..." the broom comes into view and Yuki frowns, "Not her... Alice, where are you... this isn't a time to play with ... no, it is a time to play with your dolls here..."

Marisa's voice perks up the Black Witch with a menacing grin upon her face, thirty eyes glowing red stare at Marisa while another pair of golden colored ones join the stare. "Marisa, Marisa, Marisa. You're intruding. We don't need you anymore after that escapade over at that noisy and trashy place. Nice Master Spark though, looked great from where we were. To bad you didn't take the entire building down with it so we could repurpose the land." she gives a shrug, shakes her head with a smug smile. "Looking to defend this place? To stop the expansion? She's already reinforced the place, so to get through her, you got to get through me!"

Mai's hand lights up, a fireball hovering over it. "Did you want to dance with danmaku this evening?"

Meanwhile, Yuki and her troupe dive down from the roof, shuffling off. "Hey... if you don't want to get hurt, please.. run away. It's about to get very dangerous here and I don't want you all hurt." as she approaches the group at the table, "We just want to get more land here, so please, can you all retreat for us? I don't want to cause trouble but I know my... sister has a hot fuse..."
Kyra Hyral     To Kyra's credit, she doesn't respond to Souji with her mouth full. It's probably funny how she notices him RIGHT AWAY, though. "Unusual? Not /really/. I study a lot more than you think, Souji."

Kyra takes another bite of sandwich and watches with a glazed-over look as a bunch of winged girls drop down from the roof and try to warn everyone that they're going to be attacked and that they should leave. "Retreat...?"

Kyra finishes her sandwich, chewing contemplatively. Once she has swallowed the last bite, she doubles over laughing.
Souji Murasame Souji does not seem to let Marisa's obnoxious friendliness bother him. In fact, he offers her some food too. Maybe he feels like it's better to be on Marisa's good side than bad. Cirra, however, remains Not Invited.

It's when Marisa launches into the air and confronts the demons, however, that Souji sighs. He looks like he might be about to get up when one of them actually TALKS to them. Souji arches an eyebrow at the being and sips some more tea, before asking, "Land? You wish land?" He considers this for a moment. "Do you have anything to purchase the land with? We can negotiate."
Cirra Constantine     Cirra is Fine with not being invinted! It's not like she has trouble socializing or anything! She looks at the creature that lands infront of them, warning them off. She frowns. "Alexander Acadamy is not for sale. Not by Murasame at any rate." She looks up at the ones trying intemidate Marisa, she's sure that'll go over well.
Sanary Rondel      Sanary whistles upon actually noticing that finery on Souji's table. She might not know the make or where any of it's from, but she does know enough to realize that it probably costs more money than she's ever seen in one place. "Sounds good to me! Aw, come on, Cirra. He's socializing with me, ain't he?" She laughs and goes as far as reaching over to clap a hand against Cirra's shoulder lightly. She might regret doing that later, but... Hopefully, later means very later rather than in the next few seconds.

"Still feeling drained, arm's still sore from getting fixed, but I've had worse. Didn't get anything cut off this time, at least." She waggles her sandwich and drink in Marisa's view while approaching Souji's table, her gaze following Marisa up to those figures on the rooftop before settling on Yuki's crew coming down.

"Hey... Aren't you those girls crashing at Steve's place?" Sanary looks from Souji to Kyra briefly, then back at the apparent leader with an awkward chuckle. "Yeah, if you can work out a deal, that'd be awesome. But if you can't.. Well." She pats the gunaxe at her side, although she doesn't draw it just yet. "Boss' orders. You understand, right?"
Marisa Kirisame     "Friendly as always, aren't ya?" Marisa grunts, lightly tugging the broad rim of her hat over her eyes. "I'm going to lay it down easy for you, so that you know exactly how big of a mistake you just made, okay? 'Cause I'm assuming you're just bein' dumb and reckless, coming here of all places."

"So, you've got... What, twenty, thirty with you there?" she inclines her head at the mass of glowing, red eyes. "And I'm guessing Yuki's around here somewhere, too. She's probably got some of her own, too. So I'm guessing that's around sixty, plus you two, and whoever else you've got squirreled away. Now, most circumstances, that'd be fine. Kaibaland, that'd probably do it. Heck, you'd probably give some of the folks back home a scare."

"But here?" She laughs. It's a short, harsh, terrible laugh. "Here they've got me, and they've got hundreds of kids trainin' to be some of the best fighters this world's got, and they've got all of their teachers. Now, you know me. I'll take you guys out and string you up and send you home to your mom all tied up in a pretty bow. But these other guys?"

"These other guys. I've taught some of them the /rules/ but most of them, they don't know. People around here, they fight monsters for a living. They KILL them as a DAYJOB." Marisa flicks her wrist. The Hakkero slides easily into her hand. With her other, she taps at an old, worn book. A flash of rich, green light and a gust of wind marks the appearance of her grimoire, straddling the broom behind her.

"So, I'm gonna ask you once. I'm gonna ask you once and I want you to REALLY think about it." Marisa's eyes narrow dangerously. Four crystalline orbs wink into space around her, revolving around the witch in a tight orbital. "Black Witch. Did you bring enough devils?"
Tomoyo Daidouji     The moment that reports come over the radio of demons attacking Alexander Academy, Tomoyo is already on her way. Wearing a black dress with a white moth on the chest, she arrives! She's also clutching a black briefcase as she makes a mad dash towards where they're reported to be. "Stop everything please!" she calls out, before marching over to the nearest koakuma.

Tomoyo kneels down, placing that briefcase upon the ground and undoing the clasps with a satisfying 'click.' Opening it up, she reveals a myriad of objects from multiple cultures, all with some degree of religious significance. Running her fingers across it, she soon settles on a small Bible, a rosary, and a vial of water.

Standing up straight, she wraps the rosary around one hand and flips the Bible to a page marked with one of those fabric bookmarks bound to the spine. The Bible and rosary are held in her right hand, while the vial is clasped in her left, the lid yanked out with her teeth.

And then, she begins to read, in pretty good English:

"Our father, who art in heaven
    Hallowed be thy name
    Thy kingdom come
    Thy will be done
On Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
    And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us,
And lead us not into temptation,
    But deliver us from evil.
    For thine is the kingdom,
And the power, and the glory,
    For ever and ever.
    Amen."

As she reads, Tomoyo begins sprinkling the contents of the vial in the general direction of the demons. It's holy water, taken from the church in Tomoeda. Her eyes flick up from the Bible to the demons, looking for any signs of a reaction to the simplistic exorcism.
Shinki     "If you call having your home razed friendly, then I'm about to be your best friend." Mai smirks a bit, "Yeah, Yuki's here. Another twenty five to deal with you and the rest of this place, stronger ones too." she listens intently do the Black and White magician, shaking her head as the flames come up even higher, showing fifteen koakuma behind her. "Yuki's got the other ten." she still seems smug faced, "Marisa, are you seriously trying to intimidate ME? These are kids, I have nothing to do with them, it's everyone else I have to deal with and you... you stole her from something important. So now.."

    Meanwhile, back on the ground.

Yuki blinks slightly, "OH, you know Louise then? It's a pleasure. I'm Yuki. YOu'll have to forgive Mai up there, she's a bit hot headed and holding me back but." she turns to Souji, regarding Kyra's laugh with a frown, "Sorry that we don't want you injured, it's just the place we're after. As for anything to purchase the land with, thats not something She considered, so if you're looking for yen or whatever monetary system you have here, we do not have it. I know Louise is better at this negotiation stuff though, you might want to talk to her."

The koakuma close to Tomoyo blinks a bit, splashed with the water and listens to the prayer. A few of the koakuma behind the one being 'excorsized' giggle a bit while the one approaches slowly, ruffling Tomoyo's hair. "That's cute, but I think you're using the wrong faith nor did it seem honestly backed by it. But i'll give you ten points for trying, girl." a pause, "Hey, aren't you ... nah, you can't be." she ruffles Tomoyo's hair some more as the others stop the giggle. "Come, you don't want to get hurt."

Yuki turns back to the gang and nods, giving a smile at Sanary, "Oh, so you know Louise already and her girls. HOpefully they didn't cause trouble for you... would be a shame."

Back to Mai, and in some poorly chosen words for her situation, "Go to hell, Marisa. I won't let you stop Her from doing this!" with this, she floats quickly into the air, all the while leaving fireballs behind, and with a few thrown directly at Marisa for the point, meanwhile, the koakuma start with their own danmaku barrage, brightly colored kunai shaped bullets rapidly flying in the air with no aim to them!
Cirra Constantine     Cirra turns to look at the hand on her shoulder, her eyes following down to Sanary's face. "He's made it perfectly clear he doesn't want to invite me." Well at least it wasn't a violent rejection.

Cirra turns to watch Tomoyo as she arrives, and starts sprinkling water and reciting passages. "What... are you doing?"

Then the demons decide to get serious, or make a mistake. Cirra pulls out a law card, and uses the tip of her Judge Blade to slam it inot the ground. "The. WALLS!" and a barricade of crystal springs up ahead of the group of students, providing cover from the barrage of energized kunai.
Souji Murasame "I wasn't offering Alexander Academy." Souji simply replies. "I do have, however, a good deal of other land or can broker a deal for a resonable parcel."

He does, however, looks somewhat surprised to see Tomoyo arrive an attempt an exorcism. In Galianda. Well, weirder things have happened.

He looks to the invaders and sighs, shaking his head. "Very well. I will make this simple." He sets his cup down, and stands, pulling the blade at his side off of his belt and holding it before himself, sheathed. "You can send a negotiator to bargain for the use of land if you wish. We can do this peacefully and with mutual benefit. However..."

He swivels the sheathed blade horizontal. "If you attempt to take it by force, you will have until I draw my blade to leave the premeses. Once it is drawn, I do not sheathe it before it tastes the blood of an enemy. I give no guarantees of survival. I will not suffer conquest, whether good or ill-intentioned."
Tomoyo Daidouji     Tomoyo looks a little embarrassed as her little attempt totally fails, to the point where even the enemy is showing her sympathy. Her cheeks flush as Cirra and Souji give her weird looks... but the latter's threats and the former's attack rebolsters her determination. "Please wait! I'm not done yet," she says to them both.

Tomoyo kneels back down, and carefully tucks everything back into the briefcase, before choosing what to use next. She takes out... her Lost Logia! The Gourd of Trickling Heavens is carefully shaken by the girl before opening it up, angling it towards the demons. Clouds issue from the spout, accumulating overhead before letting out gentle rains.

"Not a waterfall, but it'll do..." she murmurs before standing back up. Her left hand is curled into a fist, save for her index and middle finger which are extended. With them, she begins drawing lines in the air, starting with a vertical one, then horizontal. Each line is punctuated with a single syllable.

"Rin, pyoh, toh, sha, kai, jin, retsu, zai, zen!"

Kuji-kiri, the practice of 'cutting the nine syllables' is a Shugendo practice, aimed at cutting off demonic influence. Tomoyo is hoping to enhance it with the application of purifying rain... but right now, she's just hoping for any kind of reaction!
Sanary Rondel      That look from Cirra is enough for Sanary to know that her hand probably shouldn't stay there, and she takes her hand off quickly after that. It was worth a shot, at least!

"Eh? Hey, Tomoyo!" That reminded her: She needs to go visit her shop for another outfit some time! But that would have to come later. For now... Trying to figure out whatever that prayer thing was all about. The water didn't seem to do much, and it's looking more and more like there's going to be a fight!

Or at least it definitely sounds like it, if all that yelling and brightly-colored bullets flying overhead are any indication. "Nah, they actually worked out a deal with us. That's why..." She pauses for a moment to listen to Souji, then chuckles again while stepping over towards him and finishing her soda.

"... You'll really wanna take him up on that offer and forget about the place. I don't want to give those girls the bad news, but I will if I have to." Despite the apologetic smile she offers Yuki and her crew, the cleric stands ready besides Souji with her free hand hovering by that gunaxe of hers. "Besides, wouldn't you rather try some of the food in the cafeteria instead? Can't do that without teeth~"
Marisa Kirisame "You never were a smart one," Marisa mutters as the danmaku starts flying. "Did you forget?"

Mai's fireball cruises close. Marisa remains uncharacteristically still... And then an explosion of air, compressed to the point where it's actually VISIBLE scatters the flame into so many embers. Marisa's hand is extended to guide it, her voice falls into a low growl. "/I/ was a kid the first time I kicked your sorry ass!"

Brightly colored bullets lance up into the sky, fired scattershot. Twenty Koakuma are not to be underestimated, but the witch takes to flight like a fish does to water. Gusts of wind push her to one side or another whenever a bullet gets too close. Her orreries turn as she sails through the air, always angled toward the koakuma like a battery of spinning, magical turrets.

They fire like turrets, too. Beams of cool, blue light lancing down across the demonic formation. Clear out the trash, free up more space in the sky, then Marisa can turn her attention to Mai.

"BeSIDES," Marisa yells as she opens up with danmaku of her own. Green, magic-draining missiles scream down onto the rooftop as she continues her strafing run. "SHINKI was the one who burnt your home down! After she tried pulling this stunt the first time! So if you wanna blame anyone for your misfortune, why don't you ask HER why she's not out doing her own damn dirty work!?"
Kyra Hyral     Eventually, Kyra stops laughing as "negotiations" go underway. "Why's land needed anyway...?" she finally asks as she gets herself back together, "Are you guys refugees or something? As much as I hate to agree with Souji, if you guys try to conquer this place, you're going to have a lot of problems. Because we will fight you. We will all fight you!" Kyra unzips the front part of her hoodie with a flourish, revealing her belts and bandoliers of chemicals and potions. Some of those things look explosive.

She lifts her hands up disarmingly, "So! What's it going to be!"
Shinki     "I'm not sure about Mai up there, but..." she takes a soft sigh, Yuki watching Mai go off at it, "Well, I hope nothing bad happens to her. But..." a pause, "I think you might want to speak to Louise instead of me. But for now, could I recommend getting inside a building? With Mai worked up like that... I'm not so sure her danmaku is lethal and I don't want you to find out either. All of you." at least Yuki's got a more level head here.

The two Koakuma take a look at Tomoyo and smile, "Oooh, Buddhism? No, wait, that's not it. I don't think I've heard THAT chant before. Though, we did have a buddhist down in Makai for the longest while. She got out though. Ah, could I ask you to stop the little rain cloud, you're getting my dress wet." a pause, "Are you even a practicer of those two faiths, little one?" she questions, the other koakuma giving a light pat on Tomoyo's shoulder. "It's okay if you're not, you tried at least! I'll even let you have one more chance, do you know of anything else?" Now they were just toying with Tomoyo...

Yuki take a look at Cirra and blinks, "Oooh, that's a neat spell. Maybe that can hold off the danmaku for a while. It's interesting to see you humans react to a lot of this, and I'm sorry this is happenin. She... wanted more than just home to expand out into." A brief look towards Sanary and Yuki nods, "I'll have Louise talk to him, I don't think death is in the cards for any of us here, wouldn't you think?" a pause, a look towards Marisa and Mai. "Girls, go help out Mai, make sure she doesn't do anything even stupider." Most of the koakuma fly off to rejoin Mai and bolster her while two stay behind near Tomoyo and Yuki, as a just in case measure. "I hope your buildings are fireproof..."

Mai smirks, "I am smart, compared to what you have to deal with, Marisa." and with the other koakuma joining Mai, she picks up her own pace, going right into a heavy pattern, a familiar pattern to Marisa even. "That was ten years ago! It's going to be different this time, you black and white hack! And you HELPED burn it down with Shinki! If you didn't go around cruising Makai with that red and white, the flower girl and the ghost, Makai would still be in its best condition and we'd ALL be great!"

Some of the Koakuma get nailed by those orreries, dissapearing in a cloud of dust one by one as they try to hold off the attacks from Marisa. "H..hey, she's a lot stronger. And she didn't have THOSE ten years ago! MAI! You never said anything about this!" they complain, increasing the density of the kunai spread, most of the danmaku that misses actually embeds itself into the framework of buildings and crunches up grass and the like.. it's definately getting close to lethal danmaku.

Mai spreads her arms and out from nothing comes a mass spread of fireballs in a conal arc, only very small gaps leading up towards the magic user, "YOu forget that you're dealing with Mai, the Flame Witch!"
Tomoyo Daidouji     Tomoyo's face is actually red right now. She's trying so hard and it's having no effect! Deep down, she knows that they're right. She's just kind of... dabbling, and hoping for the best, with no actual belief in the practices to make them work.

But, they're giving her one more chance! And she still hasn't found anything that might work... she's done all this preparation, she may as well use it. "Thank you for accommodating me..." she mutters, before kneeling down to go through the briefcase again.

This time, she stands up holding a small shakujo, one of those staffs with metal rings, as well as a sheet of paper. She gives the staff a shake, making the rings jangle noisily, before starting to read from the sheet.

What comes from her mouth is a long string of Sanskrit. She needs the sheet because... well, Tomoyo is smart, but she's not quite 'become fluent in an ancient language' smart. But all her singing has given her excellent verbalization skills, so every word comes out sounding right.

And what is it she's reading? Why, a Buddhist mantra of course! Every now and again, she gives the staff a little shake, trying to drive the demons away!
Souji Murasame Souji is not so irritated that he chooses to ignore Tomoyo, staying his hand while she tries to get her exorcism on. He's not sure where she cam from or why she's doing it, but it seems to be an honest effort.

In the meantime, Souji looks to Yuki, and lowers his sword. "You have some very odd ideas. Very well. Send your Louise here and we will speak. As far as a fireproof building... You have little to worry about. This school teaches Black Mages." He shrugs.

At this point he's going to just wait for Marisa to solve the problem. He makes a mental note to get Marisa a /very nice/ dinner.
Cirra Constantine     Cirra Constantine is the one providing you with cover, Souji Murasame :|

She looks at Yuki levely, uncertine if the demon girl is trying to irritate them or is being honest. "We *should* move inside." she repeats while the barrier is working for now.
Sanary Rondel      Sanary lets out a relieved sigh as she lowers her hand from her axe, giving her two hands free to finally eat her sandwich! "Good, good. Yeah, if Marisa blows any of 'em up over there... Uh." She coughs lightly and looks away from those disappearing Koakuma, gesturing in the direction of the cafeteria while laughing uncomfortably.

"...Yeah! Definitely.. Should get some food." She shuffles over to Tomoyo carefully and reaches for her shoulders, trying to nudge the girl over towards the safety of the indoors. "Come on, Tomoyo. Pretty sure things'll be okay, so no need to do... Uh. That thing you're doing." It's certainly impressive sounding, but hell if she knows what she's actually listening to! "Nice outfit, by the way~"
Kyra Hyral     "Move inside? Pff." Kyra waves a dismissive hand, "Look, you say she's a flame witch, right? Totally into magic? I've got something for that. A something called /Reflect!/" Kyra intones, flicking a hand out to drop a crystaline barrier on herself. She turns and marches off after Marisa and Mai. "HEY! HEEEEY!"

Kyra's magic is...working perfectly fine right now. Not a magic particle out of place.

"Quit having your damn laser light rave here and GEE-TEE-EFF-OH!" Kyra shouts, "Or else I'm gonna /ground/ you! Dispell!" White magic doesn't really produce lasers and damage but it can generate some nasty countermagic-the dispell in particular, which strips ongoing magical effects and could make Mai very, very sad.
Marisa Kirisame     "Flames?" Marisa's eyes narrow to sharp, wrathful slits. The kunai sail close, the fireballs closer. Marisa dodges and weaves, but the bullet density is getting just a little bit excessive, even for a veteran of Gensokyo. If she were a bit less reckless, a bit less erratic, this wouldn't be a problem, but Marisa Kirisame lives by the rule of Go Fast. Each dodge brings her perilously close to another bolt of magic.

But, trapped under a dense curtain of fire, Marisa Kirisame is not without her trump card.

Or rather, not without her own spellcards.

"You think FLAME has anything on me!?" She laughs. Laughs! "I've fought a raven with the power of a sun-god! I regularly steal shit from a seven-elemental sorceress! And besides that--" A brilliant, brightly colored rectangle burns suddenly between her fingertips.

"A little firestarter like you can't compare to this light." Marisa reaches into her uniform, extracting a set of dimly glowing glass vials. She lunges INTO Mai's fireburst, hurling the tubes into the firestorm.

A moment passes, the fire consumes them...

Marisa crushes her card.

"MAGIC SIGN--" There's a sound like shattering glass. "STARDUST REVERIE!" Out over the rooftops, it seems as if a prismatic flower has begun to bloom. Enormous, star-shaped formations of solid light explodes from each of the shattered vials, scattering danmaku and flame alike into motes of shattered light. It powers through, raining down on the rooftop and the demons on top of it...

And from behind it all, the witch powers straight on through. "You want to pin it on me and the others? For shit that SHE started!? Fine! I don't care! Blame me all you like, but if that's the way it's gonna be, then..." She levels the hakkero. Each of the orreries begin to glow like tiny stars. "I'm going to go straight through you," she says, "I'll show you the power that helped burn down a world."

The orreries open fire, blue beams focusing on the black witch down below. The Hakkero...

Doesn't fire. Not yet.

But... A ring forms in the air in front of it, forged of brilliant, prismatic light. Magic circles layer thicker and thicker and thicker, each one serving as an amplifier for the next in the sequence. The Hakkero's eight sides shift away from one another, exposing the device's hidden core, which even now burns with all seven colors of the rainbow. "You ready?" The witch drawls, "Last chance. Wisen up now and I WON'T have to ash that building."
Shinki     The two koakuma take another look at Tomoyo, giving a slight nod at each other. No need to make her feel worse now for trying, right? As the Buddhist tools come out, they put on their best faces and look at Tomoyo in fear. "M..maybe we shouldn't have accomidated you!" one yells, their face looks like it's frozen in fear from those implements, deep down, however, they're trying not to laugh. When the words hit their ears, they start backpedaling and looking between each other, Yuki looks back at them and lets out a soft giggle before turning back to Souji, Kyra, Sanary and Cirra.

Each shake of that Shakujo and every word make the two back pedal a bit faster before turning around and flying off towards the alley way with the portal, giving almost truthful screams of fear... at least until out of ear shot then they break out laughing. "You.. you have to admit, she DID try." "Of course, it's an adorable effort. Say, that wasn't that girl Alice told us not to hurt was it?" "Dunno, wanna go get something to eat, I don't want to be on the reciving end of anything here..."

Yuki gives a bit of a nod, "Louise will be glad to speak with you. Though, I do hope you don't lose a building... even Marisa can get hot headed enough to spark anything in her path." a pause, "You're right, Miss Massive Blade." a comment given to Cirra, "That magic wall is impressive, it's holding up well to the danmaku, it's amazing how you humans can do something like this outside of Gensokyo."

Sanary gets a quick look, "Perhaps its about time I make my leave. I'll leave Mai up there to deal with Marisa. YOu can also find Louise if you talk to Steve. And yes, i did say she was a flame witch." she nods, watching the barrier go up around Kyra. Now, while the Dispel didn't do anything to the magics at hand, the Reflect actually does its intended purpose and bounces some of that danmaku right off of Kyra and into the ground below, harmlessly.

Some of the koakuma look down towards the approaching Kyra, "What's a gee tee eff oh?" "Some sort of human slang? They're weird..." "Don't know, just keep dodging Marisa!" however, they end up dusted by Marisa's orreries and with the koakuma ranks thinning out, that Stardust Reverie is getting might dangerous now.

Mai grumbles a bit, "She just wanted a peaceful expansion, not like we WANTED to shoot at you.." a pause, "At least I wanted to shoot at you..." a grin.. "Then show me..." as she flies upwards, "I don't think they'll appreciate you burning down a building and everything in it just to shoot me." Though the bullets from Stardust Reverie, Marisa's orreries and the general distraction from trying to dodge everything at once, ends up making her fail, some of the Stardust Reverie shots impact quite hard, causing the Flame Witch to lose some altitude... "Nngh, I don't know how much magic you've managed to steal... or how much you've tried to fight.. " a pause as the Hakkero opens up... and she holds up a hand, the danmaku from the girls stopping and they can focus more on DODGING EVERYTHING. "Are you going to use that?" she frowns, taking a look at the area, "I'm smart enough to know not to get Sparked by you. I've seen enough of my girls get hit by it..." a pause before diving down along with the rest of the koakuma, looking around with a slightly worried gaze, "Where did Yuki go...? Did she leave me here again?!"
Souji Murasame Souji will be sure to register a positive review with your boss, Cirra.

In the meantime, Souji and his table are gone, the corporate heir having walked into the cafeteria and is currently sitting there trying to look dignified while tempting Yuki with tea and pastries. Sanary gets a pile of food.

And Cirra gets an ice cream cone.
Kyra Hyral     "Hm." Kyra narrows her eyes, "I guess she didn't have any buffs on her." Shrugging, as she stands there, unconcerned as danmaku bounce off of her Reflect. It was nice to see that it was holding up the same way it did in her own encounter with Marisa all that time ago. "Shame I don't have my rifle." But as she says this, she pulls a needlegun, which is roughly handgun sized, out of her hoodie pocket. The gun is promptly loaded up with darts, each baring a resevoir of red liquid.

The darts are just as promptly unloaded as Kyra starts shooting at Mai. Tue mixture she's using in these IS a liquid explosive.
Tomoyo Daidouji     Tomoyo is heartened by the koakuma's apparent fear of the Buddhist practicies! The moment they're gone, she stops and looks to the printed mantra. "Hmm... so, it's Buddhist practicies that they're scared of." That's good to know! She begins to pack up all that stuff, humming to herself. It was kind of embarrassing at first, but now she knows where to narrow her search. Obviously, that kind of thing would be useless against higher class demons...

She needs a major Buddhist relic, to deal with what might be coming next.

But it looks like everyone else has moved on! Good thing too, it means she doesn't have to explain herself. So she picks up her suitcase and makes her way back to the warpgate. This is a school for some amazing people, after all. They can probably handle the rest themselves~
Shinki     Mai smirks... then something exploding starts firing at her. "Oh, so Humans outside of Gensokyo DO know how to danmaku!" she shoots a look towards Marisa then lets her own danmaku fly towards Kyra, more balls of flame heading towards her along with a few koakuma backing her up with magic kunai in her direction, "Let's just hope she knows how to dodge, shall we?" and with this, Mai changes her direction and starts a strafing run toward Kyra, those darts that do hit explode and send her reeling back some, "And she can pack a punch too!"

Meanwhile, Yuki smiles, accepting some of the offered snacks, "Sorry about her by the way.." she grinned, "Would sometime next week be okay for you to visit with Louise?"
Souji Murasame "It will be fine. Send notification to the Murasame Zaibatsu on Ramuh and I will ensure an appointment is made." Souji replies.

Mirielle needs something to do, after all.
Sanary Rondel      Heading inside finally, Sanary's content to eat her sandwich AND from that pile of food. Sure, it's probably not the healthiest idea to eat so much before bed, but... Screw it. She worked hard yesterday. She deserves a break once in a while! Plus, it'll help get her ready for the next big mission.

"You think they're gonna be okay out there? Not that I'm worried about Marisa or Kyra, but... Uh." She watches those explosions of colors every which way, a skeptical frown crossing the cleric's face even as she stuffs her face with yet more food while standing by a window. "The others with... Yuki, you said?"
Marisa Kirisame     "I'll use it if you keep this up," Marisa answers, her Spark building strength second by second. The magic circles begin giving off enough light to illuminate the entire courtyard. There's so much magic pouring into those things that the densely packed arrays seem to be more like a single, opaque disc of light rather than geometric, magical arrays.

Her eyes flicker towards Kyra, then. Marisa's lips pull into a thin frown, but maybe she can use this.

"You see that one?" Marisa calls over the rising roar of her charging shot. "She's one of their HEALERS, and she's still got that thing on her. You've come to the wrong place, Mai. All you did here was kick over an anthill. So I'd suggest that you give up 'fore she hits you with one of those things. Or, worse, before some of these OTHER people start gettin' involved!"
Cirra Constantine     Cirra eats the ice cream cone. Shivans are immune to ice cream headaches :| "This is an entire different universe. And here were refered to as 'humes'. Are you not aware of the details of Galandia before attempting to invade it?"
Kyra Hyral     The Reflect holds perfectly well throughout all of this. Every 'bullet' bounces off Kyra's barrier, leaving her unscathed and unamused, "I warned you!" she shouts, pulling another dart from her belt. According to the liquid color in it, it's another explosive dart.

"And GTFO means leave! Yeah, Marisa did just call me a healer. That means you should be lookng over you shoulder for my much more effective friends, like Marisa says!"
Shinki     Yuki shakes her head, "Actually, no I wasn't aware. You looked like humans from where we are from, you'll forgive the indiscresion of the term, would you?" she gives a bit of a weak smile, "AH, but... you're right, I'll get Louise to contact you. For now, I think I'm going to go collect Mai before she loses her life... Marisa's not one to... hold back." with this, she politely gets up... and promptly flies at high speed outside, "MAI! We're leaving! WHh... DId you piss off Marisa AND a native?!"

That reflect holds well, which to Mai's annoyance has her stop producing danmaku, staring at both Marisa and Kyra. "Tch. IF this was Gensokyo, I wouldn't dare hold back." her voice full of venom, "And if that's a so called HEALER, she's a pretty violent one... you can't heal through violence." ah, misconceptions, got to love them. She turns to Yuki and shakes her head, "No, just... playing." she chides, making another annoyed noise. "I don't think you want to meet up with Yumeko then." she smirks, looking towards Marisa, "So turn your light off and we'll be out of here... not sure what Yuki did but..." and with this, the two, and any remaining Koakuma fly off towards one of the hidden red portals, "I still mean it, Marisa. Go to hell."
Marisa Kirisame     "That is in fact the plan," Marisa answers, closing her hand around the blazing Hakkero. It snaps shut with a soft pop as the accumulated mass of magic dissolves into a flurry of brightly glowing stardust. "Going to Hell, that is. I'll be there, and I'll deal with Shinki myself, if I gotta."

She stays in the air for now. Until Mai and Yuki return to the foul pit they crawled out of, at least.
